This stort is real because the story is all about the history on how this foreigners abuse philippines and how they mistreat filipinos.
Pilipinas the women in the story or the main character who experienced a lot of mistreatments and hardships as a mother of her childrens and was misfortunate of her prostitute life was portrayed by the author as a strong mother who faced a lot of jugdments from her neighbors but still stand even if she was jugde by her so called "neighbors".
Pilipinas is the main character on the other hand the secondary characters are the foreigners and her neighbors her childrens these secondart characters are the protagonist of this story and the antagonist is pilipinas.
This stort takes us from the history but mainly focuses in pilipinas who experienced a lot of hardships and jugdements the antagonist they make her feel that she is disguisting and a lower form of human.

The Genius of the poor
Filipinos have no excuse to be poor. These are the words of Tony Meloto the founder of Gawad Kalinga which builds communities, and I believe this kind of set up was only applicable and manageable in the Philippines. Keep reading to know why...
Did you know that the Filipinos are the most obedient citizens especially in following the rules and guidelines of the pandemic? If you compare it to the other countries they are struggling to put rules and guidelines because there are activist groups who proclaim that COVID - 19 was not true or they promote freedom to choose not to wear a mask, and there are such debates about this that even touches human rights just because of the rule: Always wear a mask. If foreign countries are struggling to put rules to make its citizens to wear a mask how much more if they require them to wear face shields? Philippines is the only country that require its citizens to wear face shields aside from wearing face mask, according to the country’s spokesperson Harry Roque they are also planning if they would also require double face mask as part of the minimum health standard. And also the only country who abide motorcycle barriers even knowing that their government is crazy in implementing this rules, Of course there are so many oppositions but still majority obediently follows despite of risks with saying “Wala tayo magagawa dyan sumunod nalang para din sa nakararami yan”
I got the title of this Blog from a book entitled the same and it was written by Thomas Graham a well known journalist in Britain who followed and life of Gawad Kalinga. The author summarized the answer of the question: Why do Filipinos has no excuse to be poor? it is because of their bayanihan culture. Which gave a symbol of jeepney whereas we practiced to depend on others. When we say bayad po you pass it to the one next to you and trust them not to snatch your money, The driver trust the commuters to pay the right price because he must be focused on the road and not to their commuters who is trying to fool them. Also there is also morals in going in the jeepney, whenever there is someone going inside you must welcome them by trying to move your place in order to give them space to seat. these scenarios may be normal for us but that is delightful for the foreigner's’ eyes.
I like the name of one of our laws in the Philippines that is named as “Bayanihan Act” which promotes solidarity to combat this pandemic. During this pandemic it has challenged government leaders’ poor competencies. Rather than to rant on it, the Filipinos acted on what they can do and the solution has been made and it was community pantries. With all the challenges that burdens down the citizens, the harmony sustains. With that culture and spirit Filipinos have no excuse to be poor. According to a journal research article entitled The Filipino learner: A socioemotional perspective it shows that a Filipino students are profoundly developed in Psychosocial development because of the good environment of a Filipino child which has pakikisama, pakikikapwa, karangalan and many more.

It could also be that I did not forgive myself for losing what I had been dedicated to for three years.
Then or later on I thought that if I had been a better person, maybe if I hadn’t burned so many bridges, wasn’t off flirting with girls who didn’t know about each other, or if I was more patient in my public arguments, maybe we would have done better.
The tension between religious and secular had proven too much for the leadership of Couples for Christ and Gawad Kalinga, which were already the largest religious ministry and non-profit in the Philippines, respectively.
If I did not know if I believed in God then I knew I believed that these Catholics were doing the right thing by not viewing the poor as recipients of almsgiving, but as fellow humans who are partners in learning to help ourselves.
Going just by news articles, you would think that Tony Meloto, the founder of Gawad Kalinga, is a sexist and racist. At a speech in Hawaii, and I am sure other places, he essentially argued for Filipino women to marry foreigners to better their livelihoods or cajole Filipino men to better themselves.
It is a sentiment I have heard Meloto say myself. The rhetoric, if culturally comprehensible, is indefensible.
Meloto also dedicated the better part of thirty years to building homes that now house more than a million Filipinos, without loans, directed towards economic self-reliance, and food security.
The director of Gawad Kalinga, then ten years ago and now, spoke of what happened without animosity. “It was just different missions,” Jose Luis Oquiñena said as we walked towards our cars after a lunch in Tarpon Springs. “We were focused on building homes for the poor and Couples for Christ wanted to focus on evangelization. It was different.”
I had argued long ago that those missions were not incompatible. The support of the Catholic Church was not just pivotal in Gawad Kalinga’s rapid success in housing, the Church was also needed to help transform the mindset that the poor were to be looked down on, pitied.
It had to be more than rhetoric of meek inheriting the earth or bringing glad tidings to the poor.
But that was way above my pay grade. The Church and Gawad Kalinga parted ways. The non-profit continues to do good work but I kept wondering how it would have gone if I had been better at arguing, more conciliatory, more persuasive.
Useless hypothetical, I know. But it was a formative experience and constituted my first interest in what was essentially diplomacy.

Lessons from the Peace Process in the Philippines
The fundamental lesson from the Philippine peace process is that, more than by law alone, peace is more durably grown by sustained, multi-party political communication, as well as the input and participation of ordinary citizens in infrastructure development.
Peace is described here as an organic process because it requires continuous, ongoing decision making by those involved. The Philippines was not a willful construction of its inhabitants, but an organization created centuries ago by a conquering empire, and named after their king.
The presence of Muslims in the Philippines predated the Christian missionaries and soldiers who arrived and later formed the majority of inhabitants in the thousands of islands that constitute the Philippines.
But many Muslims used armed force to rebel against the successive Spanish, American, Japanese, and Philippine governments, generations of lethal resistance in support of the ideal of a Muslim nation or “Bangsamoro.”
There was a man with a fuzzy white beard and short hair and you could not tell he was a former Undersecretary to the President of the Philippines.
Jose Mari Oquiñena had only taken the job, he explained to me, as a “strategic deployment of resources” at the request of Tony Meloto, who chaired the Gawad Kalinga poverty reduction foundation, and Mari’s brother, Jose Luis Oquiñena, the foundation’s director. “They wanted to cooperate with President Aquino, who asked for one of us, and I was chosen as the sacrificial lamb,” Mari Oquiñena smiled.
“There was a, let’s say, very unpleasant conversation in Malacañang, as men have. One by one they went down the line, asking who came from where, did what. They came to me, and I just smiled, ‘Excuse me, po, I am just here from Gawad Kalinga.’ The whole room became quiet, and then the conversation turned to more pleasant things.”
Five years from a violent conflict that almost began a full-scale war between the government and the leading Muslim secessionist organization in the Philippines, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Oquiñena went to Mindanao, the southern part of the Philippines, where most of the citizens were Muslims.
“I asked to speak with the Muslim leaders in each village – in English, you understand, because they do not speak Tagalog. So they would blind-fold me and take me to the leaders, I asked them if they would like to build homes with us for the poor. I told them we were Catholics but did not want to convert them. They decided to trust me.
“As the date got closer, Luis asked me if this really is a good idea. I told him, to the Muslims, your word is your bond, we told them we would be there and they will be there. If you cancel this you will lose their trust forever.”
Oquiñena leaned back in his chair, seemingly carrying the gravity of the memory. He opened his hands, “When the day came, there were all these rival Muslim tribes there, together, a lot of trucks, with building equipment.” He laughed, “So we built the first Gawad Kalinga village with the Muslims there, in Datu Paglas, Maguindanao.”
He leaned forward, “As we finished building, a man in a robe came up to me, and gave me a cell phone. He said they would call me in a week.” He shrugged, “I was asked to meet at a place, where men blindfolded me, and I opened my eyes to a room with some men from Okinawa.
“First, they started to show me pictures. ‘Who is this man, who is that?’ I laughed, nervously, ‘Well, that guy is dead, let’s stop messing around here.’ They were very serious men.”
The former undersecretary had a tendency to smile as he told stories, regardless of the content. “So they seemed to regroup, and then one man asked me, ‘How did you get all the Muslim tribes together?’ I said to them, ‘Because you only have plans for war. We have plans for peace.’”
When I learned about Gawad Kalinga’s Highway of Peace villages with the Muslims many years ago, it gave me hope. I had difficulty believing in God. But there were Catholics who wanted to build homes for the poor without requiring them to believe, who wanted peace with their fellow citizens who just happened to be Muslim. I believed in that. I still do.
Unlike other non-profits, Gawad Kalinga is publicly audited and does not require loan repayments, only “sweat equity” and value formation programs to orient beneficiaries towards economic self-sufficiency.
The challenge to Gawad Kalinga is common in severe poverty: How can small businesses succeed when most locals have little income? But Gawad Kalinga at least greatly moves the needle by including edible plants in its villages for subsistence living.
The building of the Gawad Kalinga Highway of Peace villages in 2005 and onward directly involved the Philippine Army, whose soldiers participated in home construction for the Christian and Muslim citizens of Mindanao.
After the decades of killings and bloodshed between the Philippine government and Muslim secessionist groups, the continuing involvement of the Philippine Army in housing and infrastructure development in Mindanao provided a basis of trust for the peace process and a tangible example of what peace looked like.
There were setbacks. In 2008, the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the Philippines, an agreement between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) which was meant to be the basis for a comprehensive legal compact and final peace agreement.
On September 9, 2013, individuals affiliated with the founder of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), the organization the Philippine government negotiated with in creating the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, attacked Zamboanga City with the intention of declaring the independence of a “Bangsamoro Republik.” The government declared the siege over on September 28, 2013.
In 2014, the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro was signed by President Benigno Aquino III and MILF Chairman Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim. However, the Comprehensive Agreement was similar to the Memorandum of Agreement declared unconstitutional in 2008, and the Philippine Senate would not pass the Comprehensive Agreement.
In late 2014, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) met with leaders of both of the MILF and MNLF in an effort to coordinate the peace process.
The peace process was most threatened on January 25, 2015, when the Philippine government killed a Malaysian bombmaker, but forty-four police commandos were killed in action by a MILF breakaway group, as well as the local MILF command.
The chief MILF peace negotiator described it as a “misencounter” because neither the MILF nor the government intended to attack one another. The OIC Secretary General visited the Philippines to reaffirm its commitment to the peace process, and on June 16, 2015, the MILF decommissioned 145 combatants, 24 crew-served weapons, and 51 high-powered firearms.
President Rodrigo Duterte continued the process of the Bangsamoro agreement with a Declaration of Continuity on May 30, 2016 between the Philippine government and MILF.
President Duterte also linked the Bangsamoro peace process with his efforts to change the Philippine government into a federal government, aware that the Supreme Court declared the previous power-sharing agreement with the MILF unconstitutional.
On October 27, 2016, the Pasig Regional Trial Court suspended hearings and enforcement of the arrest warrant against MNLF founder Nur Misuari so he could participate in the peace process. On November 4, 2016, Misuari met with President Duterte to discuss the peace process.
President Duterte signed the Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, or the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) on July 26, 2018, explicitly based on the Comprehensive Agreement under President Aquino.
Under the BOL, the Bangsamoro region will adopt a parliamentary system composed of representatives from different sectors, including non-Moro indigenous peoples, women, youth and Christian settlers from the region.
A plebiscite will be held later in 2018 throughout the identified five provinces of the current Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, six municipalities in Lanao del Norte, and thirty-nine barangays in North Cotabato.
Thousands of MILF fighters will undergo a decommissioning process, firearms will be handed over to an international third party, and MILF camps are planned to develop into peaceful, unarmed communities.
With the BOL’s proposed parliamentary system, it is unclear whether the BOL would be found constitutional by the Supreme Court of the Philippines. But together with proposals for changing the current unitary, or centralized, government of the Philippines into a federal government, the Duterte administration seems confident that the BOL will succeed in delivering tangible results.
The agreements and law behind the Philippine peace process have proven uncertain, and another lethal confrontation between the government and the MILF or MNLF could once more threaten seventeen years of negotiations.
The Abu Sayyaf militant Islamist group declared its allegiance to ISIS, but the terrorist group engages primarily in killings or kidnappings for ransom and is not regarded as a party to negotiate with by the Philippine government, the MILF, or the MNLF.
If the Supreme Court were to declare the BOL unconstitutional, it would be another setback for the peace process. However, the process was sustained through not only legal agreements but also tangible, informal, interpersonal interactions.
The Gawad Kalinga Highway of Peace villages affected thousands of residents in Mindanao, involving government officials, soldiers, and private individuals in their construction.
Gawad Kalinga (GK) was then a Catholic ministry of the Couples for Christ missionary group, but because of GK’s refusal to attempt to convert, instead focusing on peacemaking, the villages constituted the largest effort to date by the Catholic Church in the Philippines to coexist peacefully in areas with mostly Muslim citizens.
GK’s village building increased trust between Christians and Muslims and complemented the negotiations between the Philippine government, the MILF, and MNLF. During periods of intense difficulty, such as when the forty-four police commandos were killed in action, local citizens relied on the trust between Christians and Muslims and the shared desire for peace.

Piauiense tem trabalho selecionado e é convocado para evento com Papa
Renan Marques, mestre em Comunicação Social, pesquisador e técnico administrativo da Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI), recebeu uma carta do Papa para participar do evento Economia de Francisco. O encontro internacional convoca empreendedores, estudantes de Mestrado, Doutorado, ativistas, jovens pesquisadores e também empresários. Serão três dias de uma experiência em que teoria e prática se entrelaçam para construir novas ideias e colaborações. Economia de Francisco procura abrir espaço para a reflexão, sustentabilidade e boas iniciativas na relação planeta e homem. Foram selecionados 2.000 projetos do mundo todo, e após a divulgação nacional, cerca de 100 jovens, de todo o Brasil, apresentaram-se para divulgar um novo modelo econômico em março deste ano na cidade de Assis, Itália. Todos esses jovens de crenças e nacionalidades diferentes mandaram propostas com objetivo de fazer algo diferente para melhorar a economia atual e torná-la mais justa e sustentável, protagonizando o que é excluído atualmente. O piauiense Renan carrega consigo uma proposta que pede uma atuação do jornalismo profissional e comprometido para a consolidação de um ambiente social mais democrático e livre. “Sensação única você poder ter um trabalho como esse escolhido, fruto de pesquisa. É uma construção pessoal e profissional”, disse Renan. O trabalho desenvolvido em um grupo de pesquisa da UFPI é um orgulho a mais para os comunicadores sociais piauienses. Já foram confirmados no evento presenças dos ganhadores do Prêmio Nobel Muhammad Yunus e Amarthya Sen, também de Bruno Frey, Tony Meloto, Carlo Petrini, Kate Raworth, Jeffrey Sachs, Vandana Shiva e Stefano Zamagni, entre outros. Para viabilizar a viagem do jovem até a cidade de Assis, foi feita uma campanha de doação, também disponível on-line. ARRIVEE AUX PHILIPPINES
Après quelques bonnes heures de vol, l'équipe se retrouve au complet à l'aéroport de Manille. Une voiture (trop classe) vient nous chercher, direction l'Enchanted Farm pour 3 jours de "formation". Nous nous arretons pour diner dans LE fast food des Philippine "Jollibee"", évitant de peu le KFC. 3 heures de route passent, permettant à nos esprits de s'enflammer dans des discussions les plus variées. L'arrivée de nuit à l'Enchanted Farm nous laisse le plaisir de découvrir le paysage le lendemain. Nous sommes installés dans un bengalow tout à fait confortable. Pas de moustiques en vu. Mais mieux que ça, des coqs pour nous tenir compagnie dès 1h30 du matin! Pas le bon vieux coq qui "cocoricote" sur un gros tas de fumier à la française mais un ou plutôt 4 coqs attachés par la patte à un piquet. Plus tard ça sera 25 coqs. Ils piaillent dès 2h00 du matin sans cesse, pour ne prendre congé qu'à 8h00 du matin mais c'est déjà trop tard puisque ici nous sommes debout dès 6h30. Aura t on raison un jour du décalage horaire...? C'est donc une première journée qui commence en ce vendredi 10 février. Nous sommes directement plongés dans le bain : on nous avait donné rdv à 6h30 pour le petit déj, la "tita" ne viendra jamais...ahah! Mais ce fut un mal pour un bien car Tony Meloto vint sauver nos estomacs affamés. Il s'agit du fondateur de GK. Les invités doivent être accueillit comme des rois, c'est pourquoi 3 minutes après nous étions attablés avec nos assiettes tressés couvertes d'une feuille de banane coupée à la taille de l'assiette...on jete la feuille à la fin du repas, pas besoin de faire la vaiselle! Notre assiette de riz et de viande en sauce fut la première d'une longue lignée matin midi soir. No limit. L'Enchanted Farm porte très bien son nom, on se croirait dans un village de schtroumph. C'est assez magique ! Cette "ferme" a été construite autour d'un des 1er village construit par GK. Y sont implatés des "micro buisness" tel que un atelier de production de beurre de cacahuète, un atelier avec un élevage de verre à soi et des métiers à tisser pour fabriquer des écharpes... . Des étudiants de toutes les régions viennent effectuer 3 ans d'études sur place. Le but étant de leur enseigner la gestion d'une entreprise. Le terrain est très grands, fleuris (en pot), vert avec des allées qui tournoient. Il y a 6 mois le potager a été commencé, c'est a n'y pas croire, tout est déjà fleuri. Des poules et des poulets par-ci par-là, une porcherie avec des mini porcs tout mignons ... tout est propre et bien entretenu ! Le bambou est le matériau à tout faire : enclos des cochons et des poules, barrière de potager, délimitation de terrain, abris, kiosque de jardin. Le rêve de tout scout : solide et léger --> de quoi faire des tentes surélevées jusqu'au ciel ! Le matin nous assistons, avec un groupe de 20 lyonnais, à une conférence sur GK. Nous avons la chance d'entendre le témoignage de 3 membres de GK, autrefois chef de gang ou dileur. "Nous sommes ravis de vous rencontrer en vrai, on entend parler de vous dans nos livres depuis si longtemps" leur disent les étudiants philippins. C'est difficile de se les imaginer tuant des hommes et menant une vie chaotique quand on les voit aujourd'hui mariés, pères de famille, investis dans l'asso. Chacun nous explique comment Tony Meloto est venu le chercher, le rencontrer la où il était "il arrivait dans le village, le matin, car à cette heure-ci les hommes ne sont pas encore sous l'effet de la drogue, il s'asseyait dans un coin et prenait le café avec les gens. Nous avons discuté, il m'a proposé de changer de vie. Un jour il a organisé un déjeuner avec tous les gangs, le deal était d'avoir un repas gratuit mais toutes les armes devaient rester à l'entrée. C'est le repas qui nous attiré. La nourritre fut au début de chaque village une façon de créer un lien avec les gens. Puis petit à petit les maisons ont été construites. On construit tous ensemble les maisons sur un même modèle et ensuite elles sont réparties entre les familles."
DREAM LAND VILLAGE
A 16heure...finalement à 17heure nous partons avec tous le groupe dans un autre village GK constitué de 400 familles. Le trajet s'effectue en "jeepney", c'est une longue voiture format bus scolaire, en alu avec la cabine du conducteur et derrière deux bancs qui se font face le long du bus. L'arrivée au village ressemble à une scène de "L'arnaqueur" : tous les enfants courent autour des voitures en criant et se jettent sur nous à la decente des bus. Ils sont tous plus beaux les uns que les autres. Ce qui est incroyable aux Philippines c'est que les gens sont extrêmement joyeux et souriants et d'un accueil sans limite. Nous sommes répartis par 3 ou 4 dans les familles. Pour nous permettre de domrir dans un lit, ils dorment par terre dans le salon. C'est impensable de refuser, ça serait leur faire offense. Nous voici donc avec Clémence et Marie à dormir dans le lit de la "Tita" qui nous acceuille dans sa famille. La chambre ressemble à une cabine. La famille qui nous accueille est constituée de la maman (trop trop mimi), du papa (un peu duperd), d'un jeune de 17 ans parlant assez bien anglais, d'une fille de 22 ans, Jeanette, qui travaille dans l'immobilier et une autre fille plus âgée qui vie à Manille. Ils étaient très honorés de recevoir des français. Lors d'un discussion avec Tony Meloto nous avons appris que les Philippins sont très attachés à leur relation avec la France. Nous nous installons, et c'est en déposant nos sacs que nous découvrîmes...une énoooooorme blate juste au dessus du lit. Mazette !! Un coup de raquette électrique et à la poubelle le balte ! Ahah là on a réalisé un bon cliché des petites blanches qui hurlent devant les bêtes ... fou rire garantie ! Mais ce n'etait pas la seule à fréqueter ce lieu bien en entendu. Nous étions tranquillement installées tête bêche, dans nos sacs à viande, quand voici une autre "cuya" (c'est ainsi que nous les avions batisées, "cuya" veuillant dire frère en tagalog) qui déboule. Panique à bord, on hurle, Jeanette débarque avec la raquettedelamort, Clémence s'en empare mais la cuya lui échappe et descend du mur ... vers le lit où nous sommes bien sur. Commence alors un cache-cache déchainé au milieu des draps et des hurlements ... nous esssayant de sortir du lit saussissonées dans nos sacs à viandes et la cuya ... qui ne refera jamais surface nous laissant le doute son retour imprévu en pleine nuit. Si la cuya nous laissa tranquille cette nuit là, les coqs ne nous épargnièrent pas. Notre voisine française qui avait la phobie des animaux et vivaient très mal son séjour aux Philippines, fut réveillée en pleine nuit par une cuya dans son tee-shirt. Le sort s'acharne. Pour vous montrer un peu leur hospitalité, je demande à Jeanette "is it the first you welcome strangers ?" "strangers ???? you're not strangers !!" "....?....." "one time we've adopted filipinos for 3 days, like you" Un petit dej offert par la famille puis le petit dej organisé par les français ... on est pas prêt de mourir de faim. Un jeu de piste est organisé pour nous dans le village, les enfants sont ravis et nous suivent partout. A la fin du jeu, c'est trempés et pleins de terre qu'on se retrouve pour aller construire les maisons. Je rectifie : remplacer certains ouvriers sur le chantier des maisons en construction dans le village. Au programme : creuser le sol des maisons, transporter des sacs de sable, passer le sable sur la "rape a fromage" pour filtrer les gros morceaux. On nous fait faire rapidement une pause ahah ils nous prennent vraiment pour des petites natures. La journée se poursuit par le déjeuner puis de multiples jeux avec les enfants, de quoi bien s'écrouler le soir. Notre Tita nous a dit qu'il y avait une messe pas loin à 6h30 dimanche matin, nous nous donnons donc rendez-vous avez les garçons à 6h10. Le lendemain matin nous voila debout prêtes à partir mais la Tita n'est pas la. Nous interrogons donc le garçon pour s'assurer que la messe est bien à 6h30 et savoir que où est sa mère "oh we leave at 6h50" " but the mass is at 6h30 no ?" "yes yes" !! Bah aloooors !!! Du coup on décide de partir quand même parceque 10 min de messe ... c'est limite ! Nous partons en tricycle (le touk-touk" local), c'est une sorte de side-card sur lequel nous montons à 7. Ahahah excellent !! La Tita, son fils et sa fille sur la moto avec le conducteur et nous 3 dans le side car. Les garçons ne nous voyant pas arriver étaient déjà partis. Pour le dernier repas nous a été préparé un énorme banquet : une grande table recouverte de feuilles de bananier, au centre une allée de riz bordée de tomates et de concombres avec full nêms, poulet fris et salted eggs (une sale histoire : ce sont de oeufs cuits 2heures puis laissés quelques semaines dans du sel).
INSTALLATION A TABUN
A 14h, nous voilà partis tous le 5 pour le village de Tabun dans lequel nous allons passer 3-4 mois. Nous traversons quelques contrées, avant d'arriverà Mabalacat, la grosse ville la plus proche puis à Tabun et enfin dans notre petit village GK. 93 familles, 2 rues parrallèles avec 4 petites boutiques de sucreries et chips and that's it. Comme tous les villages de Gawad Kalinga, notre village est délimité par une "cloture", ce qui rend le village très safe. Les enfants passent leurs journées dans les rues du village, ce qui correspond à leur jardin finalement. Nous arrivons donc avec notre "caretaker" et débutons par une petite réunion dans la salle commune avec quelques membres du village. Le "chef" du village (qui ne parle pas anglais), 3 dames (trésorière, adjointe et je ne sais pas) qui nous acceuillent très chaleureusement et timidement aussi. Chacun parle plus ou moins anglais, les échanges ne sont pas toujours évident ! On nous présente un peu le village (pendant que la trésorière note sur un grand cahier très épais ce qu'il se passe et nous fait noter nos noms prénoms et signatures). On s'échange des sourires, des "merci beaucoup" c'est-à-dire "salamat po", on s'informe, on rit. Nous dormirons dans un 1er temps dans les familles puis la salle communales sera aménagée pour nous servir de maison. Chacun est donc accueillit par une "Tita". Celle de Clémence arrive : une petite pine up ahah. Elle a une des maisons les plus richements aménagée du village, la seule à avoir la wi-fii, possède également une machine à lavée et un écran plasma (comme d 'autres). Elle vit seule avec son fils de 4 ans car son mari travaille en Arabie-Saoudite. Elle a également 2 pots de nutella sur sa table, ce qui fera rêver Clémence. Parceque c'est sur que le pot confiture/beurre de cacahuète ... ça passe moyen. Ensuite ma Tita m'accueille, elle habite aussi seule avec sa fille de 4 ans car son mari est décédé l'an dernier. L'intérieur est également très propre et moderne pour le lieu contrairement aux logements de Roberto (c'est ainsi qu'il se fait nommer) et Max qui dorment chez la trésorière et l'adjointe. Pas évident au début : Tita Tess m'accueille dans son salon, elle m'invite à m'asseoir sur le canapé en face d'elle. Elle me regarde avec un grand sourire et un rire un peu géné sans rien dire, je lui pose quelques questions mais elle ne parle pas bien anglais (encore moins bien que moi) donc c'est vite vu. Sa fille Zayra me parle sans arrêt en tagalog, je ne comprend absolument rien mais il suffit que je dise "yes"et elle est ravie ! Le diner est à 19h tous les soirs, nous nous mettons donc à table. Sans grande surpise : riz. Et pour mon plus grand malheur des salted eggs. Heureusement que Clémence m'avait prévenu au dej que ça n'était pas des mets les meilleurs. Je me débrouille pour en prendre un quart, Clémence n'avait pas menti c'est hard core. J'avoue j'en ai caché une partie sous la coquille discretos dans mon assiette. Je cherche à savoir où sont les maisons des autres : c'est très simple, les enfants nous attendent devant les maisons et il suffit de dire "where is cuya Max ? And ate Marie ?" pour être conduit directement à la maison. Cuya veut dire frère et ate (qui se prononce A T) veut dire soeur, et c'est ainsi qu'ils nous appellent. Se promener ici c'est presque comme être célèbre : on ne peut pas faire 2 pas hors d'une maison sans qu'une horde d'enfants nous cours dessus pour faire un de ces jeux de mains... interminables ! Mais qu'est ce qu'ils sont mignons, souriants et dynamiques ! Un plaiiiiisir !!
PROJECT BEGENING
Après mult réunions avec le chef projector, le coordinateur de tous les village de notre province Pampanga, le "chef du village qui ne parle pas anglais" et les 2 volontaires Philippines nous arrivons à la conclusion suivante : dans le village il n'y a aucune infrastructure ou jeux pour les enfants/ado. Les enfants passent donc beaucoup de temps à trainer et s'ennuie. Depuis que nous sommes là, il n'y a pas une minute ou ils ne sont pas derrière la porte à nous attendre, à nous attraper la main dès que nous sortons, à être toujours super motivés pour le moindre jeux ou la moindre danse. Lécole est uniquement le matin, ils ont donc toute l'aprem inocupée. C'est un contexte qui favorise les mauvaises conduites (pour faire simple) et les ados ne sont donc jamais dans le village mais toujours à l'extérieur sur les terrains de basket voisins. Le basket étant le sport national. Il y a également des airs de jeux mais les enfants ne pouvant pas sortir du village, ils n'y ont pas accès. Les enfants plus agés sortent du village pour aller à l'école et une école existe dans le village pour les 4-6 ans avec 3 "services" : 7h-9h puis 9h-11h et 11h-13h. On a donc choisit de construire sur un grand terrain vague (où un potager a échoué il y a quelques années) un terrain de basket et une aire de jeux pour les enfants. Il nous faut donc chiffrer le projet pour voir ce qui est envisageable : couler une dale de béton pour le terrain de basket, installer un panier et des jeux pour enfants. Un gars du village nous a suggéré de construire également des tables de ping-pong. Nous hésitons donc entre plusieurs "accessoires" : 1 ou 2 paniers, tables de ping pong, plusieurs balançoires ou un toboggan. Finalement vu les dimensions du terrain dont nous disposons, 1 terrain de basket ne tiendra pas, nous visons donc un demi terrain avec un unique panier. En allant se balader avec un des garçons du village aux alentours, nous découvrons 2 aires identiques à celle que nous envisageons, ce qui nous permet de mieux visualiser le tout ! On se rend également compte ne se baladant aux alentours que le village où nous sommes est assez pauvre.
DEFRICHAGE ET LABOUR DU TERRAIN
Jeudi 15 février, nous attaquons le terrain. Après le délicieux petit dej apporté par les Titas nous partons à la recherche des outils "have you got tools ?" pour débuter le défrichage vers 8h30. Cette 1ère tournée nous rapportera pelles et machettes, le lendemain des rateaux et ciseaux de jardinage ... rien ne sert de chercher il faut attendre que les gens apportent spontanément leurs outils . Les enfants sont tous venus nous aider, trop motivés. Arrachage des mauvaises herbes, rattisage, ramassage des déchets ... un gros tas auquel le "chef" du village met feu. C'est courant ici, alors que pour nous : panique à bord. Faire un feu au milieu d'un champ d'herbes sèches. Avec les enceintes pour la diversion : musique à fond et c'est parti sourires aux visages ! Chacun à son rythme, sous le soleil de plus en plus chaud. Le soir, le chef projector revient nous rendre visite, nous faisons le point.Il faut applanir le terrain. Chaque matin c'est reparti, on essaie de commencer le plus tôt possible pour éviter la chaleur, ou du moins la minimiser. Les 1ers jours ont travaillait longtemps le matin, mais après avoir observé la baisse de la température vers 16h, on décida de s'y remettre enter 16h et 18h (coucher du soleil). Maintenant qu'on a bien défriché les mauvaises herbes il faut retourner le terrain avec des bèches. C'est ce qui fut le plus éprouvant. Il faut ensuite avec l'unique rateau égaliser le terrain. Ce jour c'est samedi, des hommes du village que nous n'avions jamais vu viennent nous aider. Avec Max, Roberto et le chef du village ils prennent des mesures, discutent de l'emplacement du terrain de basket. Avec notre avis nous nous arrêtons sur le côté gauche pour laisser un grnd espace pour l'air de jeux. Lundi prochain, avec le project director, nous allons à Mabalacat acheter le béton pour le terrain de basket et se faire une idée du prix des installations. Nous verrons ce qu'il adviendra.
LA VIE AU VILLAGE
Les journées se déroulent pour l'instant (cela fait 4 jours) selon le schéma suivant : levé 6h30 (impossible de dormir plus pour l'instant), défrichage du terrain, déjeuner à midi, puis après-midi variées : repos, jeux avec les enfants, lessives, balades (quand la chaleur n'est pas trop écrasante). Les déjeuners sont de plus en plus tôt, aujourd'hui nous avons travaillé de 7h30 à 10h, les Titas nous ont apporté le dej à ... 10h30 ! Nous avions entendu parler d'une piscine dans les environs, après multes négaciations nous parvenons enfin à ce que les titas (trop stréssées dès que nous sortons du village) nous laisse aller à la piscine, accompagner d'un des gars du village. La pisicine fait partie d'un ancien camp militaire, elle est totalement abandonnée. L'eau n'a pas été filtrée mais il y a 2 plongeoirs "rebondissants", vous vous en doutez bien, pas moyen de laisser passer l'occasion! 3 euros l'entrée et c'est parti pour des plongeons, des saltos et des longueurs de crawl, un vrai bonheur ! Nous retournons chacun voir nos Titas "d'accueil" de temps en temps. La mienne n'a que faire du projet, pourvu qu'elle puisse me mettre du vernis à ongle blanc et que je m'attache les cheveux avec une pince quand elle m'amènera à son travail, parceque "I want to show you my boss et mes collègues, and you're so pretty like this" ahahah une pépite. Elle est trop mignone. Sa fille et le fils de la Tita de Clémence ne sortent jamais jouer avec les autres enfants, ils restent toute la journée dans leur maison. Je ne comprend pas comment ils ne deviennent pas chèvre. Hier je lui ai proposé de venir chercher sa fille pour jouer avec les autres, elle m'a alors fait la moue du style "nan, pas jouer dehors, pas se mélanger". Bon ok, mais c'est entendu, je viendrai chercher sa fille à 17h précisement demain, là c'est d'accord pour la laisser sortir. Toutes les fins d'après-midi c'est enceinte à fond et danse avec les enfants. Toutes le musiques y passent : commerciale, française, tagalog ... on danse la zumba, la macarena : ce sont de vrais clubeurs ! Tous le monde danse aux Philipipines, des tous petits aux grands-mères. Et ça zouk ! Avec la chaleur qui plane, on est rapidement trempé ! Tous les jours pour ne pas dire toutes les minutes, ils s'enfilent des paquets de chips qu'ils achètent 7 pesos dans les boutiques du village (sachant que 1euro = 50 pesos). Du coup on a finit par craquer, un soir on est allé au supermarcher acheter des bières (il n'y a pas d'endroit pour prendre des bières en terrasse), on a pris des paquets de chips au village GK et un tarot pour se poser sur place du gros village, un peu tranquilles sans que 50 enfans nous sautent dessus. Mais c'est sans compter que les enfants ne sont pas que dans notre village mais aussi dans celui-ci ! Petit anecdote : nous étions en cercle en train de jouer au tarot, quand Roberto lorgna sur le jeu de Philouze et faisant une reflexion, son sang ne fit qu'un tour : Philouze lui donna une petite claque. D'un coup les 6 ados qui étaient autour de nous se mettent a crier "bouuuuuuh", ahha c'était énorme.

LUNGSOD NG BATANGAS, Peb. 13 (PIA)- Muling palalakasin ang Turismo sa lalawigan ng Batangas.
Ito ang naging sentro ng usapan sa isinagawang Batangas Economic Recovery Round Table (BERRT) discussion sa Lima Park Hotel sa bayan ng Malvar noong ika-7 ng Pebrero 2020.
Ang BERRT ay isang private sector-led multi-sectoral initiative na pinangunahan ng Faith Colleges upang magkaroon ng epektibo at maayos na koordinasyon para sa economic recovery efforts sa lalawigan ng Batangas kaugnay ng Taal volcano eruption.
Sinabi ni Dr. Saturnino Delen, Chairman, First Asia Venture Capital Inc. at kasalukuyang Presidente ng Faith Colleges Inc., layon ng roundtable discussion na makapagbahagi ng karanasan partikular sa pagbuo ng disaster plan at pangangailangan sa mga pagsasanay tulad ng volcano eruption drill.
Aniya, mahalaga ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng lokal na pamahalaan at pribadong sektor maging ang iba pang stakeholders upang makapagbahagi ng mga kaalaman o best practices na magagamit ng bawat isa.
Naging bahagi din ng pagpupulong ang pagtalakay sa mga hamon sa business industry sa lalawigan partikular ang mga resorts at hotels kung saan karamihan ay nagkaroon ng zero accomodation sa panahong nararanasan ang pag-aalburuto ng bulkan. Maging ang mga resorts at hotel na malayo sa bahagi ng Taal Lake District ay apektado kung kaya’t naging malaki ang impact nito hindi lamang sa negosyo kundi maging sa Turismo.
Ayon kay Governor Hermilando Mandanas, hindi lamang ang mga munisipalidad sa paligid ng Taal ang maaaring bisitahin dahil mayroon pang Balayan Bay at Batangas Bay na malayo sa danger zone.
“Bagama’t ang Taal Volcano ang isang pamosong lugar dito sa lalawigan, marami pang ibang lugar ang maaaring dayuhin ng mga turista, nandiyan ang magagandang beaches natin sa bahagi ng San Juan, diving sites sa Mabini at resorts sa Nasugbu. Sa papalapit na Semana Santa nandiyan ang Padre Pio Shrine, ang Basilica ng Immaculada Concepcion sa Batangas City, San Sebastian Cathedral sa Lipa at iba pang simbahan na hindi naapektuhan ng pagsabog ng bulkan,” ani Mandanas.
Ayon kay Maritess Castro, Regional Director ng Department of Tourism, "Habang ginagawa ng pamahalaan ang rehabilitasyon sa paligid ng Taal Lake District, magandang maipakita din sa publiko ang kabilang bahagi ng lalawigan na hindi apektado at maaaring makatulong upang buhayin muli ang turismo sa lalawigan kung saan dapat magkaroon ng familiarization tour upang maiwasang ma-generalize na ang buong lalawigan ay hindi bukas sa turismo.”
Binigyang-diin naman ni Tony Meloto, founder ng Gawad Kalinga na maaaring gawing oportunidad ang isang trahedya na tulad ng idinulot ng Taal Volcano eruption.
“Mas magandang gawing opportunity ang isang tragedy dahil mas mapapataas nito ang antas ng pagtingin ng mga tao sa buhay. May samahan po kami dito sa lungsod ng Lipa na tinawag naming Senior Fun Club kung saan sa darating na mid-February ay magtu-turn over kami ng limang palikuran sa mga paaralan dito dahil nakita namin ang pangangailangan at ito ay itutuloy tuloy namin,” ani Meloto.
Sa huli ay ibinahagi ni Juan Lozano ng Executive Vice President Faith Colleges ang kanilang pagbisita sa isang volcanic mountain sa Taiwan ang nagbigay ng ideya upang mabuo ang Bakwit finder, isang mobile app kung saan maaaring matunton ang isang evacuee sa pamamagitan ng pag-log sa naturang app.
Ang app ay may dalawang feature, una ang paghanap ng pangalan ng mga evacuees at ang ikalawa ang paghanap ng evacuation center. Isang malaking challenge ang paghanap ng raw data mula sa lokal na pamahalaan kaya’t tinututukan ng Faith colleges ang pagpapalawak ng app upang magamit hindi lamang para sa Batangas kundi maging sa buong bansa lalo na at calamity-prone area ang Pilipinas.
