Things to do with your yuusona #7

What is a common misconception that other students have about your yuu? I'll provide an example with one of my yuu ocs below the cut.

Mariana is often thought to be just like Riddle when it came to upholding the rules of the queen of hearts. This has led students to see her as uptight and strict. This could not be more wrong though. She has the belief that most of the queen's rules are utterly ridiculous, and that as long as no catches you breaking said rules it doesn't matter if they were broken.

What did your Yuu do before coming to twst? What was their life like back in their world? How badly do they want to go home, if they want to at all?

This time, I'll put my Yuus as example for this: Alyss was a rich girl, and Dru was her favorite doll Mariana was royalty sentenced to be executed Brooklyn was a literal deer

Interaction post: Describe to me what your Yuusona's nails/hands look like. Go into detail. Explain why they look the way they do, tell me the story behind them.

I'll go first Dru's hands are ball jointed and smooth. One look at their hands would give them away, so that's why they wear gloves all the time. Their nails though are very bright colors most of the time because they often let Alyss paint them. Alyss's hands are small and almost childlike. Their nails are medium length, but never painted. Since Alyss can't do much with her hands, they remain clean and very taken care of.

I like to imagine that Malleus refers to Dru as "Children of man" because he fully acknowledges that Alyss is there with Dru.

I'd imagine that Lilia and Leona also do something similar. Just a wholesome yuusona thought I had just now :D

Funfact: For my perspective (my au version of the plot in-game), Dru is often described as uncanny, eerie, and unusual.

"I don't have anything against them, it just feels like theres something off and I don't know what it is."

Have no fear. That's just Alyss. Others don't feel uneasy around Dru because of them having an ulterior motive, that's just Alyss.

Alyss may not be able to be heard or seen, but she can be detected. She's a solid soul without a physical body. That's why she's "bonded" to Dru. In fact, her being connected to Dru is what makes it possible for her to be easily detected. By anyone, no matter the magic level or species.

So here's what's happening: Students are subconsciously detecting Alyss's presence when near Dru, however since they don't know/believe that Alyss exists, their default reaction is often (not always) fear. Their brain is detecting two people, but since they can only see one they tend to freak out a bit.

Now of course, theres students that don't feel this way (talking about some of the main cast). I'm mainly referring to NPC students and what not. I may write an actual 1-10 scale for each character actually but eh.

Funfact: Dru likes to wear different body mists that Alyss (and sometimes Grim) helps pick out. Their favorite scents tend to lean towards linen, coconut (occasionally), and different types of trees or wood that are sometimes mixed with lavender or orange.

At some point during the prologue in my game game perspective (for my yuusonas), I imagine that Grim at some point acknowledges that theres another being there that isnt Dru or the ghosts (I also like to imagine that ghosts figure this out as well, but this aint about them). With that being said, Grim realizes that Dru does not have any sort of trait that would signal them as living. The ghosts then suggest that Dru simply wear perfume and that should deter at least some suspicions.

Basically, the reason why Dru wears body spray is because they don't have a natural scent. They don't smell like anything, and to keep suspicions as low as possible they simply add a scent so that most people don't care to investigate further.

The only way that Dru communicates with Alyss is by talking to her directly, like a normal person.

However, Alyss can't be seen or heard by anyone other than Dru, so when Dru is conversing with Alyss in anyway possible it looks like they're talking to themselves.

So imagine one day in class and Crewel is teaching or something, and Dru just very very quietly whispers "Alyss, mind your language.".

Funfact: Whenever Alyss has to use Dru for vessel purposes, unbeknownst to the both of them that counts as magic and therefore accumulates blot. I guess its a good thing that Alyss doesn't like doing that then, huh?

Funfact:

Alyss associates a lot of the characters with different colors. For example, she assigned Kalim to the color yellow and Riddle to the color red (cliché, i know).

For someone so....childish, she actually has a pretty deep reason for associating each person with a specific color.

Funfact: Dru is extremely flexible. Like, lowkey kind of scary flexible.

Unfortunately, Dru is completely unaware about this fact about themselves. Alyss would, and very much could tell Dru straight up, but she wants Dru to find out on their own because she thinks it would be funny, so now she’s kind of just waiting for it to happen. However, Dru is not the type to “fuck around and find out” and actually uses their brain on a day to day basis, much to Alyss’s dismay.

AHH. MY YUU OC. ASPEN. IM STILL MILDLY CONTEMPLATING IT BUT THEY BECOME THE NEXT HEADMAGE OF NRC ALONGSIDE GRIM. to keep on with the tradition of corvids given crowleys. a crow/raven. Aspen’s outfit + mask represents a magpie (often thought less of than ravens, but can be equally crafty and cunning)

meanwhile RSA also gains a new headmage who’s got more of an owl thing going on and that’s specifically only because i think it would be so cool to reference the generational feud corvids and owls have in real life

Something interesting about Dru and Alyss (to me atleast)

One thing that the two of them share a value for is free will. They hold free will in a very high regard, and they both don't like when their free will is challenged.

Dru values free will because having free will makes them feel like a living being (it actually only gives them sentience, but dru will take what they can get). Back in their world, free will was something that Dru simply wasn't capable of having. They didn't even have their own thoughts. They don't know this of course, and their opinion on free will is heavily influenced by Alyss, but it's safe to say that if they were deprived of making their own choices at any given time, they wouldn't be too happy about it.

And Alyss values it because of her life in her world. Back in her world, free will was not something that she had a lot of. "You can't do that" is a phrase that she memorized and hated from a young age, and not in the "hmph my parents wont let me do what I want" kind of way. It got to the point where at a certain age her house looked more like a bird cage in her eyes because that's how restricted she felt. She doesn't remember any of this since coming to twst, however since this is the environment her personality developed around, this isnt a trait that can just be erased. So, even though Alyss doesn't know why, she values the concept of free will way more then Dru does, and she doesn't only apply this to herself. She applies the importance of free will to everyone around her, especially Dru.

Hiii, just gonna spill a dark fact about the second-half of my yuusona, Alyss Bearer :D

So, what you see below is a snippet from her backstory (full backstory is linked in my pinned post).

Now, through basic context clues, you can tell that her picking herself up from the fall is not what actually happened, along with the fact that she felt different when she got back up.

You guys know what she saw through her perspective. She saw/felt herself get up after tripping.

What actually happened in that moment is that when she tripped, her head hit a large rock. She could see herself get back up and run towards the carriage, her parents could see her hit her head and then lay there motionless.

Is she dead? Well, that depends. Whether she choses to go back to her world or not will decide that. If she goes back, she will wake up in a hospital bed and be told that she hit her head and was in a coma for at least a year. If she choses to stay, well....you can finish that thought :).
