Melody's gaze falls with a skittering downwards of lashes a moment after she had spoken. She is not ignorant of the prevailing reputation she has among her peers. There are whispers. Whispers alleging that she isn't NORMAL because she dares to speak to animals, crabs in particular. But Sebastian was more family than most people would EVER know.

And she swallows down the tremulous thunder of her own heartbeat, hard. After all, he deserved better. Better than her.

Sea-glass orbs round considerably, lifting in quasi-amazement. "I-- uh-- well, it's next week. Is-- is that going to be too hard on you?" She sheepishly inquires.
