Melhem Asad is one of the Righteous Among the Nations.
When the Dutch police were standing idly by -- or worse, aiding and abetting terrorists -- and allowing Jews to be violently pogrommed, Melhem was RISKING HIS LIFE to protect Jews.
The Amsterdam police colluded with these terrorists to allow this pogrom to happen on the 86th anniversary of Kristallnacht. The Netherlands allowed a pogrom against Jews to take place in Amsterdam, the same city where the Dutch sent over 100,000 Jews, including Anne Frank, to their deaths in Nazi concentration camps.
Melhem helped protect our people from that attempted massacre and hostage taking.
Mr. Rogers once told us, "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping'."
Melhem is a helper. He shielded our people and helped rescue them from kidnapping and murder. He is a hero.

Melhem Asad traveled from Israel to Amsterdam for the Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer match. After the game, as attackers began their assault, Melhem, an Arabic speaker, overheard them discussing their plans. He cleverly pretended to be one of them, redirecting the mob away from the Maccabi fans. He then swiftly warned the Israeli supporters, advising them to conceal any symbols of their team or Israeli identity. Thank you, Melhem, for your brave actions on that day which saved many.

Melhem Asad is a HERO. He is one of the Righteous among the Nations. The more that comes out about the Amsterdam pogrom, that the terror attack was coordinated by Hamas operatives, it is clear just how heroic Melhem is. Melhem put his life on the line again and again to protect Jews.
Asad says that he had nearly made it safely back to his hotel after the brutal attacks started when he encountered a group of Arabic-speaking suspects planning to assault Maccabi fans.
“I told them that no Jews are still here, that they escaped. I did everything to confuse them… I directed them the other way and then ran toward groups of Israelis and warned them that there are immigrants who are looking to hurt them,” he tells the network, explaining he told his fellow Maccabi supporters to take off their blue and yellow jerseys so they couldn’t be identified.
Asad says the violence reminded him of Hamas’s October 7 onslaught last year.
“I feel that God sent me at the right time and to the place to save whoever was possible,” he adds.

Football hooligans destroying flags and provoking the other side, because they want violence? Sadly expected and can be found all over Europe easily. Add to that the general atmosphere around anything that involves Israel and Palestine. Powder keg. And there are always agitators who want to be the spark. Which is terrible and I hate that. Also very little about what happened in Amsterdam was actually about the match itself. Shocker, I know that. Sorry that doesn't come across in a one sentence under 140 characters tag.
Let's look at what I said "the people contorting themselves to justify what just happened in Amsterdam..." Did I say it is wrong to look into the whole situation? (With investigations showing that there was some premeditated planning involved, so at least we can both-sides this thing. And not even Ajax fans, because this wasn't about football. This was very much Jews vs Muslims, less Maccabi vs Ajax.) Did I say there is one side that is 100% right and the other is 100% wrong? Did I say I agree with Israelis chanting their anti-arab slogans and provoking the pro-Palestine crowds?
What I am appalled by is the simple fact that we did see Jews chased down streets in a big European city and people come forth with explanations of why that is okay. The JUSTIFICATION of the violence that broke out (I don't agree with tearing down flags, but I agree less with stabbing people). There have been a few arrests made pre-game, including on the Maccabi side. Rightfully. Also to think only the bad hooligans who deserved it by their actions got beaten is my problem with the situation. That's what I mean when I say "contorting [...] to justify". I much prefer people like Melhem Asad, who helped to keep people safe and stood up against violence, than either celebrating the stupid bolsterous singing of disgusting genocidal songs or applauding hitting any perceived enemies in the face without even caring if they were actual agitators.
I see where you're coming from but I do think focusing in on the "jews" aspect of it all just gives validation to the idea that zionist speak for all jews or that any critisism towards them is antisemetic. You're also leaving out the fact that they assaulted a taxi driver on top of burning flags and singing songs about the slaughter of children.
I'm sure there were some folks who got hurt that weren't the ones inciting violence in the first place and that's a tragedy, but the people of Amsterdam were under no obligation to just lie down and take that shit and as the authorities failed to step in they took it into their own hands. Perhaps in the future the city will just do the smart thing and not host Isreali teams the same way they wouldn't host a Russian team

Melhem Asad puts every single Hamasnik to shame. They should all go drown in their shame, but instead they fill their throats with shrieks for Jewish blood.
Many Israeli Arabs are tzadikim, counted amongst the Righteous Among the Nations for risking their lives to protect Jews. And yet, goyishe leftists would see these Arabs murdered alongside Jews, for standing up for Jews. Hamasniks don't give a shit about Palestinians. They just want to see Jews being slaughtered.
Hamasniks really are the National Socialist Goyishe Workers' Party.
"A major attack on an ethnic group was justified because they were asking for it, even if the attack was evidently pre-planned for weeks before and included running over and stabbing random bypassers from that ethnic group who couldn't possibly be identified as the same people who were asking for it weeks after it was already planned."
