For those who are curious, mehndi is the custom of creating decorative designs on one’s hands or feet with henna, specifically for special events like weddings or Eid. This is a tradition in South Asian, Turkish, and African, and Arab cultures, and is often considered bonding time between loved ones. (I remember doing mehndi with my cousins during Eid— gosh I feel nostalgic 🥹💕)
