ā€œ#some of y'all are just so insistent on making the most silver spoon character in the series into a victim somehow for some reason #i don't get it there are actual angry disruptive victims in this series to project onā€
I think one of the things that powers abuse-victim-Bakugou is the narrativeā€¦ favoritism(?) he experiences. I donā€™t just mean the way heā€™s constantly presented as the Sasuke to Izukuā€™s naruto, and The Foil and The Rival ā€” heā€™s also the closest thing to an angry disruptive victim that you can be rewarded for projecting on?
Like, the entire LoV and associated armies think of themselves as all angry disruptive victims, but theyā€™re also textually misguided and/or literally terrorists, soā€¦
And Shouto is an angry disruptive victim who lashes out at Izuku over his dad angst ā€” until Izuku knocks some sense into him and he goes back to being Supremely Neutral Affect at everybody and basically living and letting live with his super influential and successful dad.
Iida? So straight laced, sure, but it was pretty disruptive and angry of him to go after the man who ruined his brotherā€™s life aaaaaasnd the anger explicitly blinds him and he has to get bailed out by all-loving Izuku so he can realize that Anger And Disobedience Are Bad
And Izuku? I donā€™t remember if you reblogged it directly or itā€™s just linked from one of your reblogs, but Izuku is super famously emotionally repressed 90% of the time and even when he star ta not voice his anger itā€™s immediately shut down by the very narrative
Reading Bakugou as an angry abuse victim being disruptive is wildly off base but it at least presents the idea of disruptive anger as, like, an Okay Thing To Feel. Bakugouā€™s okay at the end of the day, according to the narrative, so if heā€™s an angry disruptive victim, then feeling angry and being disruptive when youā€™re a victim can be okay.
Bakugou is not a victim of abuse or a victim of society other than being made a child soldier - which applies to every character from the UA hero course. It would be a misreading of the text to conclude otherwise.
What I'm getting from this ask is that the Bakugou stans are the weakest link, and they need the narrative to hold their hand and tell them everything is going to be okay while tucking them into bed at 8 p.m. sharp.
Which makes sense. Quite a few of them seem to portray similar levels of insecurity to Aldera Bakugou so if the shoe fits
Don't get me wrong. There is a kernel of truth in your ask about how allergic Horikoshi seems to be to peer or intra-faction conflict. And Bakugou is given more leeway to stir up problems. But let's be real, it's mostly because none of the characters take his comments seriously and nine times out of ten it changes nothing about the status quo because it's intended to be comedic relief
