softly rubbing your thumb against the back of Meghan's bruised hands, you couldn't help but let out another sigh, filling the air in the room with even more negative energy along with the sounds of machines beeping.

staring at Meghan's motionless face, tears started to well up in your eyes, if you you had protected her better like a good partner would, she wouldn't be in this state, hooked up to the many machines and asleep for so many days, and you wouldn't have to keep worrying about her, more negative and guilty thoughts entered your head as you internally scolding yourself.

it's been days, days since she slipped away from your fingers in front of your eyes, the sight of her running towards you to shelter you from the in coming bomber as you tried to aim for the terrorist's head with your shaky hands then Meghan's body blocked your view, all you heard was a loud explosion before blacking out.

and now your’re here, a bandage around your forehead as you held Meghan's hands in yours tightly, the tears welling up at the corner of your eyes started to spill over and onto Meghan's calloused hands.

"i'm so sorry..." you whispered out despite knowing that she wouldn't just wake up simply from an apology, "i should have protected your better.".

the silence in the room was deafening and the regret weighted down even more as time past, has it been hours? or day? since you’ve been sitting there with her and ignoring everyone else who has tried to move you away from her and their kind words turned into nagging in your head, your body crying out for a short break but your mind determined to stay with her till she wakes up so that you can tell her how much you love her, how much you’ll protect her from now on.

laying your head on the side of the bed, the familiar beeping changed into a loud constant screech, jolting your head up, you saw that the line that was once going up and down was now a single line, the further it went, the deeper the cut in your heart. you head knew what it meant but your heart refused to accept it, making up excuses after excuses.

tears falling again, you wrapped your hands around her shoulder, shaking her body with hopes that it would bring her back, repeating the action over and over again till you felt someone pull you away by force, by this time, your body was too tired to fight back no matter how much your heart wanted you to. 

everything was a blur through your tears, the view of Meghan’s body turned to liquid, your actions rapid and desperate, words jumbled up and turned into cries while their grip on your arms stung but nothing could hurt you more than hearing the dreaded sound from the life support machine and having to deal with the truth.

it was the final goodbye as they tore you away from Meghan’s lifeless body while your friends held you back from running back in and your fruitless thrashing around made sweat start to form on your skin, your screaming and cries filled the empty halls of the hospital as the loud high pitch ringing accompanied your sorrows.

the cold breeze biting into your skin despite the sun glaring down on you as the wind blew against you. you stood beside the marble stone, engraved with her name and years of her life, it’s been a year since she felt.

flowers in your hands, baby breath, her favorite flowers. laying them down onto the grass, your vision started to blur again and your nose turned sour. tears falling onto the hard marble that you soon collapsed on. 

the weight of this proved too heavy for you once again. everywhere you went, something reminds you of her, the guilt filling your heart and ‘if only’s filled your head, memories rushing back to you and the empty house was always cold no matter how high you turned the heater up.

“i miss you, i really do.” you cried as the tears cracked your voice, “please come back, i can’t do this without you.”

the wind blew softly as you as you stood over the marble stone, engraved with her name and wonderful years of her life, it all seems too familiar, after all it’s been so many years since Meghan left.

flowers in your hands, baby breath, Meghan’s favorite flowers, never changing. laying them down onto the grass, a soft smile on your face as you remembered the good times that you had with Meghan. slowly kneeling down onto the grass and laying your head onto the marble.

it’s been many sleepless nights, beers and tears, many years past and your heart started to let go but not forget, with your friends beside you all the way for years and years, your heart let go of the guilt that had it’s grip on you for so long, and for once, you could look at Meghan’s resting place without the same guilty feeling overcoming you. 

finally after years and years, she is at peace, and so were you.

“i love you Meghan, i really do.” you whispered, “rest well, my love.”

the breeze combed through your hair and the sun shines warmly all while the wind whispered back, 

‘i love you too.’

It had been two days since my flop with the most recent hvt mission. If it wasn’t for timur the entire thing would have been a massive bust and I might have even gotten Meghan killed. I loved my partner wolf, but sometimes a terrorists suit could throw off the scent and mess up his tracking which in turn messed up my info. Wolf was a military war dog and more importantly my best friend but he could be outsmarted just like I could, and this time we both messed up and i gave messed up info. Entirely botched info. I told Meghan that the main office should have one lightly armored enemy but instead she walked into one of there *bombers*. Thank god she had her MPX or she would have been screwed and that would be on my conscious, just like when I lost….. “Hey Y/N! Earth to Y/N!” Meghan snapped me out of my daze. “He-Hey, sorry I was….lost in thought.” I replied stammering at first. “Y/N it’s okay, bad info happens all the time like any other mistake, and I didn’t eve…” I cut Meghan off. “It’s not that valk.” I replied quickly and headed for the door from my *tent*.

Meghan’s pov:

‘I don’t know why Y/N is so bothered. I didn’t get hurt, bad info happens I hope he understands that.’ Meghan thought to herself. “Hey timur you know why Y/N gets moody at his mistakes? Even the super small ones?” Valk asked Glaz. “Ask the lord yourself, he’s Y/N’s *closest friend*” timur drily stated. ‘That’s really helpful you Russian twat.’ Meghan thought. “Thanks timur.” She barely grunted out.

I walked into the chow hall where a few of the other ops were hanging out and most importantly Alex aka the lord himself. ‘Pretentious prick, who calls themselves that honestly?’ “Alex! I need to talk to you.” I shouted walking over to him. “What do you need Валькирия?” Alex said in his heavy accent. “That better not have been insult Alex.” Meghan growled lightly.
