Who sad relationships were easy? No one. But you had to work on them no matter what. And you did everything in your power to do your best in the relationship you were having with Jake. Everything was so amazing at least you thought. You had tried to do your best to make it all work. Even when he was working all over the world. You flied to him, cooked for him. Did everything you could, but it didn’t seem to be enough.

When you and Jake got together it was a secret. No one knew beside you, your families and closest friends. Jake was the one who wanted to keep it quit and you agreed. At that point you didn’t care, you were just so damn happy. Who would have cared if the world knew when you were this happy, at least you thought you both felt that way. Jake was the one to speak to you about thinking to make your relationship public. You weren’t sure at first but if it meant a lot to Jake you did what ever he wanted. Some people would say you were doing things wrong but those people weren’t in the relationship you were. And they had no idea the things Jake had done for you. So many things, like helping you and your families. Pulling them out of the deep ends they had gone into. He had done so many amazing and meaning things for the both of you but mostly for your family.

When Jake talked on a show and reviled that he was dating you you didn’t know what could happened next, no one expected what would happen next. Everything slowly changed. Right after Jake told the world about the two of you, so many people showed up, one person that showed up, you never really liked but you didn’t know how she would change it all. Jake became distant, he would hide things from you until you had enough. You were so fed up with it all you did something you didn’t think you would ever do. You ended up listening into his conversations and even following him, it wasn‘t something you were proud of, but it was something that had to be done. At the end you regretted doing it. That day you decided to try to med it all, and put up a good evening for you and Jake. Even after hearing things that made you things things would go down from their, you wanted to mend it some way. You cooked all day making all his favorite foods, making his favorite drinks, putting on his favorite dress on you, but it wasn’t enough. When you welcomed Jake home, his face wasn’t what you expected. He wasn’t happy, not even a bit. It was clear to you there was something on his heart that would break yours. And before you knew it, you were moving your things to a new small apartment trying to forget what you had before in your life. Everything had fallen apart. Your heart had been broken.

“Everything’s going to be okay” Maggie tried to calm you down as you were feeling the tears come to you once again.

“It won’t  Mags. He dumped me for her. I was never enough for him. I was a fool to believe I could be with him” you pulled away from Meggie and walked to your room, where you spent the next few days. It all was crazy and you hated every moment of it. But you made a promise to yourself, while staying in bed and crying, that you weren’t going to let anyone hurt you again not even your old loved ones.

It had been about 2 months and you were feeling better then ever. There weren’t that many smiles in you but you still tried your best to be a good person, think about yourself. You found a new job that had nothing to do with famous people and just work with people who needed the help more then anyone else. Most of your work was charity but that made you so happy. Seeing all those people smile and laugh. You started to feel more and more happier. It was amazing. One day you were walking home from work, something you had been doing for a long time, it gave you a chance to see people and places you hadn’t noticed before. Turing at the last corner you smiled at the passing people and their dogs but your smile dropped the moment you stopped at your new house. The man you had been trying to forget or the past months were standing in front of your house.

“Jake” you said with a sigh and slight anger. but right as you felt it you pulled it back, because no one deserved your anger there was no place for it in you life. “Why are you here and how did you know I lived here?” you asked without moving. Jake moved closer just by a step, knowing his own boundaries.

“I needed to see you and talk to you.” he said but that satisfy you

“You didn’t answer me” you stated and still didn’t move. In your mind the only person who had to move was Jake. He was at your house without your promising.

“Maggie told me, only because I begged her” he tried to make excuses for her but there was no need for it. She would only tell all it if she felt it might be right, she would never do anything she might think would harm you. You nodded waiting to see what he had to say next. You knew Jake had more on his heart, there was no surprise, since yu knew him so damn well. Just a look he would give you’d know everything he was feeling and thinking. “I’m sorry” you scuffed at his comment, without knowing it.

“Jake, just say what you want to say so I can go home and keep forgetting about you” Jakes eyes filled with hurt, but for the first time you didn’t care. Jake hurt you more then he could ever imagine, so there weren’t any regrets in you, by all the words you’d say.

“I made a mistake.” Jake sighed looking down at his feet, it was a sight of regret and sadness, something you’ve seen him do before. You probably knew him better then the his new girl knew about him, even though it was his new girlfriend A girl you feared for so long, and thought was so much better then you and still do, but know, finally you know you are as best as you a can be and someone will love you fro who you are. “Reese made my mind go crazy. She made me do all those things. I love you Y/N. I really do.” Jake went on and on about how much he loved you and how much he regretted what he had done. Jake told you everything that happened before and after. You listened without a words and when Jake was done you said what you had on your mind.

“No Jake.” he stopped. There were so many things Jake thought you would say but none of them were what you were about to say “I wasn’t enough for you” that was the moment this his heart dropped but your heart stayed where it stood. You were confidant with what you were saying “you might have done so much for me and my family but at the end I still did so much for you.” You moved, quit your job to find another one that would work with his job. “I changed my whole life for you, I did everything to make it work for you” you thought you’d be yelling at Jake but yet you kept your cool. “I was never enough for you” you sighed but didn’t break the eye contact you had with Jake.

“It’s not true. I’ve always loved you and I’ll always love you Y/N. You’re the love of my life.” you looked at the man you once loved so deeply and felt as if everything he was saying meant nothing, you tried to make it nothing. But you still felt something for him, yet it wasn’t right, you knew it.

“Stop” you stepped back, and pulled your hands away from him. “Jake, if you really loved me you wouldn’t have dumped me for your ex. You wouldn’t have dumped me at all. Jake you lied when I asked if you loved me” Jake shook his head “you did the last time I asked you. You said you loved me when in reality you  were with here. “ there were tears going down your cheeks but yet you didn’t feel pain, becasue y9ou were in control of what was happening.

“Please, Y/N” Jake begged, but you didn’t care. It was important what you felt and not him

“No Jake. You might love me, and I might love you, but we aren’t  meant to me together. If I was never the person you would end up together. If you’d really loved me you’d never hurt me. If you’d ever loved me you’ d never doubt me,” you pause and looked deeper in his eyes, feeling both of your hearts breaking on more time “you’d never doubt me being the one to spend the rest of your life with” you pulled away from his hands and took a step back. “I love you, but I need something better, you need something better” and with that you two parted ways no never see each other again. It was something you both needed and that was right of you both.

After that small encounter with him you felt better only becasue you finally had a chance to day what was on your heart, but also because now you knew better things where coming your way, and his.
