Meet Your Teacher: Caden Mercer Caden Mercer is a talented, hardworking musician from Houston, Texas. He graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 2017 with a Degree in Music Business, with an emphasis in Songwriting and Worship Leadership. Caden started learning the guitar in 2007 and also has 10 years of piano experience. With this experience, he also hasn’t shied away from applying these skills to a plethora of other instruments. Caden is a singer/songwriter, releasing music under the name Water & Bone. He has a passion for music and people, in hopes of spreading his love and understanding of the language of music.

Meet Your Teacher: Ricardo Rodriguez Ricardo Rodriguez is a multi-talented music lover from Dallas, Texas. He has been a student of music for over 10 years and has been involved in a plethora of school ensembles, taken private music lessons, and studied music at the University of North Texas. His musical influences include bands like The Beatles, Mana, Young The Giant, Bacillos, Queen and many more. He also has a background in classical music as well so he also enjoys the music of artists like Villa Lobos, Andrew York, and Francisco Tarrega. His passion for music and love of teaching shine through in his lessons and his teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that he knows each student learns in their own way so he incorporates the teaching styles and methods that best compliment each student’s learning style. His approach as a teacher is to have fun and practice hard.

Meet Your Instructor: Joey O'Reilly Joey O'Reilly started playing piano in 2004 and Saxophone in 2010. He has experimented with a plethora of musical genres and composers ranging anywhere from Billy Joel to Bach. He is currently pursuing a composition and commercial music degree at Collin College. He recently was a part of the lab bands at the University of North Texas as a saxophone player and studied under Dr. Eric Nestler and Professor Brad Leali. He completed the Royal Conservatory of Music piano examinations through level 10 and occasionally plays in the pit orchestras at local theaters. He's looking forward to sharing his passion for music with each and every one of his students.

Meet your instructor: Emily Cooley Emily has been teaching music since 2007 when she was living in the suburbs of Chicago. She holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Millikin University and an M.M. in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University. During both her undergraduate and graduate studies, she was active in the college choirs and opera productions and studied piano as well. After graduate school, she taught over 400 students ages 3-65, private voice and piano lessons at NIU and a variety of music studios. She has experience helping students successfully prepare auditions for college, musical theatre productions, all-state choir, summer music programs, and more. In addition to teaching privately, she also served as the music department chair and choir director at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, a state-funded boarding high school for gifted students.

Meet Your Instructor: Izzabella Maso Izzabella Maso started playing guitar in 2009, and started playing piano shortly after. Since then, she has spent a lot of time learning new styles of music, performance techniques, music theory, and how to continue progressing in her own musical education, since beginning to teach in 2013. She graduated from Baylor University in 2017 with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing and throughout college, taught music to kids in Waco! She is currently writing an album in the pop/electronic genre to be released in 2020. Izzy is very passionate about her students learning the fundamental language of music, but also ensuring that they have fun while they learn!

Meet your Teacher!!! Jamie Weston is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas. Born and raised in Denton, Texas, he has been studying classical percussion and drum set since age 12. Once graduating, he plans to pursue a Master's degree in music. He is currently a member of the UNT 8 O’clock Lab Band, UNT U-Tubes, and UNT 8 O’clock Steel Band. He is also the leader of his own band, the Weston Jazz Quintet, who frequently plays in the Denton area.
