The Lion King turns 30

Today marks the 30 year anniversary of when Disney's The Lion King came into theaters since 1994. Hooray!

This film was the first Disney movie I've seen as a kid and it showed me the Circle of Life.

Oh, I just can't wait any longer to show this to everyone.

Can You Feel the Love Tonight like I do? I hope so. Anyway, I'm more than happy to play as my Lion King character muses for this special day. Be Prepared and enjoy. And remember, Hakuna Matata.

Meerkat & Warthog “Timon & Pumbaa” (1995)

I know that Jumba calls himself an evil genius but it's a running gag. It's not meant to be taken literally, Disney.

Also that voice really doesn't go with that character. Like...at all. I saw a clip the other day and it was so jarring to hear Jumba just sound like some guy you'd run into at the store. Nothing against Zach Galifianakis, he's been great in other roles, but ehhh...

It's kinda the same issue I have with Timon and Pumbaa in the live-action remake. Again, no disrespect towards the actors, they've been hilarious in other things but they're just doing their own voices there and I don't see Timon and Pumbaa, I just see Billy Eichner Meerkat and Seth Rogen Warthog.

I don't know, might rewatch Lilo and Stitch (the good one) or The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl later, just to feel something.

"Hello." Elsa smiled to Lucas as Mickey showed everyone interviews of everyone in Toon Town of what they wanted for Christmas, even some of the villains. "So Goofy, what do you want for Christmas?" Mickey asked. "That's easy. My two front teeth." Goofy said as Mickey showed him a mirror. "Already got those." He chuckled.

"The lamp. Give me the lamp!" Jafar said to Mickey. "What do we want for Christmas? How about bunk beds?" Grumpy of the Seven Dwarfs asked. "No strings to hold me down." Pinocchio said to Mickey as he was a wooden boy, after all. "Bugs, grubs, worms, and beetles." Pumbaa said on what he wants for Christmas. "And air freshener." Timon said aside Pumbaa. "Your voice will do nicely." Ursula said holding her shell, cackling. "I wish me and Adrien had more time to hang pout. I mean, Hang about... I mean, hag about..." Marinette stuttered with her words, until she facepalmed herself. "Smooth stutter, Ladybug." I mumbled.

"I wish I wasn't a dumb old llama anymore!" Said Kuzco in his llama during his interview. Mickey then went to Asha. "I was that everyone's wishes would have a chance of coming true." She said to Mickey. "I wish for Halloween Town to better understand this Christmas thing." Said Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King. "I, Bartok the Magnificent, wish the Grand Duchess Anastasia to have a happy life." Bartok said during his interview. "What do I wish for Christmas, Mickey?" Beast asked. "I wish that everyone will find their inner beauty." He replied as Belle smiled and everyone awed at this. "It's enough to make me smile a lot." I said.

"Hello Asha." I spoke towards the Fairy Godmother of the Kingdom of Rosas. She and I even shake hands together. "Also, I remember seeing her at the 100th Disney Group Photo before her movie, Wish came out this year." I said aside to Lucas.

"Come on, Donald. This'll get you into the spirit. It's a story about you." Mickey said to his best friend as everyone started to watch Donald on Ice, a Mickey Mouse Works cartoon where Huey, Dewey and Louie participate in a snowman building contest. but while Donald tries to ice-skate, he crashes into their first snowman.

So, in retaliation, they create a prank in having a crack in the ice follow their Uncle Donald. However, he also got chased around by the Abominable Snowman that won the competition with the prize: ice skates. After that, Donald's nephews throw snowballs at Donald. After that cartoon, everyone applauded. "Did seeing that help you get in the Christmas spirit?" Goofy asked to Donald who continued to frown and cross his arms. "Oh, humbug." Donald replied.

"Well, I have an idea that might help." Minnie chuckled. "Hearing some yuletide wishes." She spoke. "Good idea, Minnie. Because earlier today, I went out on the street to see what everybody wanted." Mickey said showing his interviews with everybody.

Timon can speak french. He also had an emo phase.

Pumbaa thaught Timon to swim(that comes from real life; I saw once that warthogs are really good swimers but meerkats don´t know how to swim sooo)

Ma tries to fix Pumbaa´s hair like he does with Timon

Pumbaa also call ma "ma" (he see her like a mother)

Both of them Timon and Pumbaa used to have nightmares bout´ ther past like Simba. The bad dreams decreased when they started to sleep together

When Timon is really upset/anxious, Pumbaa will strock Timon´s back with his nose. That will conforts Timon inmediately.

Timon HATES get dirty. Nevertheless, he´ll play in the mud with Pumbaa if he´d asks him (some times Timon just will join to pumbaa even if he didn´t asked. That made Pumbaa extremly happy ^^)

Of course, they are totally married.

When they met, Timon was 18 and Pumbaa was 21 years hold (in human years of course)

Sometimes, Timon try to cook for Pumbaa. He totally will mess things up and Pumbaa will end cooking for them.

“A War With Love”

Timon considers himself prideful; rarely will be let his true self show. The real him is weak, which just drags everyone down. He does things he never thought he would do, but he must keep his façade for the sake of himself. Snarky yet inept, intelligent yet obnoxious. And above all else: brave.

So when he signed up for war—he thought it was for playing croquet, okay?—he knew he needed to keep his “bravado” façade up. So he didn’t let himself be scared, despite all of the bombs; gunshots; landmines; blood; and deaths, he kept the act up. By the end of the war, which was between meerkats and warthogs no less, everything was fine!

Or so they thought. Pumbaa wasn’t affected, but Timon? He was. He started struggling with sleep and jumps at every loud sound, vividly remembering the war. But, why, Timon wondered. Despite his attempts at masking the fear, Pumbaa managed to catch on.

“Uh, Timon?” the porcine swine friend starts, “are you okay?”

“Okay? Of course, Pumbaa! Why wouldn’t I be?” the meerkat laughs.

“Well, you’ve been acting weird since the war—”

“No, I haven’t!” Timon says anxiously, fidgeting with his fingers. “You’re, you’re just seeing things.”

“But, Timon...” Pumbaa starts, worried about his best friend.

“But, nothing! Hey, why don’t we rustle up some grub? I’m starved!” Timon says.

“Okay... if you say so...” Pumbaa says in worry.

As the pair go to get grub, Pumbaa keeps a close eye on Timon. His meerkat friend is constantly watching the ground, almost like he’s waiting for something. Every time he gets food, he is very precise and meticulous. At one point, the sky darkens with clouds but Timon does not notice. However, as thunder booms, he jumps half a mile and hugs Pumbaa’s snout, breathing heavily.

He is scared, and Pumbaa was right.

Donald and his friends look at "Duck the Halls" for another cartoon for this Christmas at the House of Mouse, albeit he smiled a little on having to celebrate Christmas anywhere for ducks, he still crossed his arms. "Not to worry. He'll change soon. Besides, I have a little friend to check on Mickey." I said to Lucas. Meanwhile, Mickey was moping and doping on the roof, and Jiminy Cricket comes in to talk. "Why so glum, Mickey?" He asked.

"Well, l… I wanted to throw a party, and make it a merry Christmas for everybody, but my good pal Donald's missing out." Mickey explained to Jiminy. "Now, Mickey… the Christmas spirit doesn't come from a party. It comes from sharing the holidays with family and friends. And it seems to me that Donald has the best friend anyone could want in you." Jiminy pointed out about what the Christmas spirit is all about. "Gee, I guess you're right. And all I wish is for everyone to have a merry Christmas, even that humbug Donald." Mickey spoke smiling.

"Well, haven't you ever wished upon a star? Your wish just might come true." Jiminy suggested. "Gosh. I wish that home or away, with family or friends, whether you've got the fanciest decorations, or the humblest little tree, that everyone could have the Christmas spirit." Mickey wished upon the star, and the star comes to Mickey and into his hands. "Gosh." He said. Mickey then comes back inside and approaches Donald. "Say, uh, Donald?" He asked. "What do you want?" Donald spoke. "Well, I want my best friend to put the star on the tree." Mickey offered as he took out the wishing star. "You want me to do it?" Donald asked perking up. "Aw, you bet I do." Mickey smiled seeing Donald back in the Christmas spirit as he put the star on the tree.

"Merry Christmas!" Donald shouted and laughed as the star started to decorate the House of Mouse as everyone watched. "Whoa..." Adrien spoke. "It's miraculous." Marinette spoke. "It's magical." Beast said to Belle. "Ooh, pretty!" Pumbaa smiled as he was seated with Simba, Nala, Timon, Zazu and Rafiki. In the process, the Magic Mirror was decorated, even Yen Sid's hat changed to a Santa Hat as he smiled, and everyone began to applaud. "That old star never lets you down." Jiminy smiled upon Lucas's shoulder, even Star started to smile.

PJ and the Heartless Rebels had watched Lucas be up on stage and watched him speak about what he was thankful for so far. He and everyone else, especially the girls that he bonded with all applauded, even the three Harem Girls; Naji, Taji, and Maji. "There, now, Donald, you see? There's lots of reasons to have the Christmas spirit." Minnie spoke to Donald. "Aw, I don't know." Donald said in disagreement. "Why don't you take a look at how I decorated my house today?" Mickey offered as he turns to Huey, Dewey and Louie, the House of Mouse band. "Jingle those bells, boys." He said as Mickey showed a video of how he and Pluto decorated his house for Christmas.

"Oh, Mickey? Look." Minnie spoke to Mickey as she brought a nutcracker doll. "Aw, the nutcracker. Why, even Donald's going to love that." Mickey spoke about their Nutcracker tale. "Now here's a Christmas story with a new twist. And it was made all the sweeter because of my Mickey." Minnie spoke as they watched the story of The Nutcracker featuring Mickey as the nutcracker, Minnie as Maria and Donald as the Mouse King.

Everyone then applauded after the cartoon was finished. "This is turning out to be a wonderful Christmas." Beast said while seated next to Belle. "We finished our house." One of the Three Little Pigs said as they finished their igloo on the table. "I knew Mickey wouldn't let us down." Ariel smiled as she was sitting with Prince Eric and Melody. "It's good to see that a merry Christmas is being had by all." Jafar laughed being seated with Genie and Abu. "So, Donald, you feeling jolly yet?" Mickey asked. "What do you have to say now?" I asked to Donald. "I say… humbug!" Donald shouted as everyone frowned, except for Grumpy as the Dwarf smiled. "D'oh!" I facepalmed like Homer Simpson.

"I did everything I could think of. I guess Donald's just never going to have the Christmas spirit." Mickey said giving up as he walked up to the roof of the House of Mouse, as Minnie, Daisy and Pluto watched sadly. "We better comfort him." I said to Lucas.

Happy Late 31st Anniversary, The Lion King!

"Woah, are you kiddin'?" Simba raised a paw in order to help the meerkat scale his mane for a better view, and so he could talk properly. "That's not the Timon I know. And that's not the Pumbaa we know. He would never leave us-- leave you. Pumbaa is the kindest soul I have the pleasure of knowing and that guy isn't capable of holdin' a grudge." However, this gave the lion pause. He didn't want to consider that something had happened to their favourite warthog... It was settled. He wasn't resting until his adoptive fathers were together again and home. "Hey, if he's not in his usual spots, we'll search everywhere else. The entire kingdom and beyond."

If you're not a fan of Timon and Pumbaa, it's fine but I genuinely can't wrap my mind around saying they're the worst characters in the franchise or that they ruin the movie.

Title: Pride: Reign of Claws

Logline: In a neon-lit metropolis of towering skyscrapers and bustling streets, Simba, a rebellious lion cub with electrokinetic powers, must embrace his destiny as king and protect his pride from the tyrannical reign of Scar, a cunning lion with cybernetic enhancements and a thirst for power.

Characters:

Simba: A headstrong lion cub with the ability to manipulate electricity. He resents the expectations placed upon him as future king and yearns for a life of adventure.

Nala: A brave and resourceful lioness with enhanced agility and parkour skills. She's Simba's best friend and a constant source of support.

Scar: Simba's power-hungry uncle, sporting cybernetic enhancements that augment his strength and agility. He rules Pride City with an iron fist, exploiting its energy resources for his own gain.

The Climax:

The climax involves an epic battle atop Pride City's energy core. Simba confronts Scar in a showdown that utilizes their contrasting powers - Simba's raw electrokinetic energy against Scar's brutal cybernetic enhancements.

During the fight, the truth about Mufasa's death is revealed, further fueling Simba's rage. However, Nala reminds him of his father's wisdom and the importance of fighting for what's right, not vengeance.

Simba overpowers Scar, not with brute force, but with a precisely controlled surge of electricity that disrupts Scar's cybernetics and leaves him vulnerable. Scar is apprehended and justice is served.

Alright, this little meerkat and her mother has been living in my head for a month without paying rent, so let me introduce my meerkats TLK ocs! (deep lore of them down if you want to read and/or know more about em´ (please read I spent +3 houres writting and translating the texts)

Shujaa (means “warrior”): Shujaa is a widow meerkat who arrived at Timon's colony while he was looking for his “dreamed home” and living in the Oasis with Pumbaa. Shujaa was born into a foreign colony. They never knew who her father was, and her mother died while she gave birth, so she was raised in community by her colony. Thanks to that, she developed a temperament very cheerful and sociable, besides she was very strong, fact that let her being very good digging tunnels. Nevertheless, in her deeper inner she always misses the lack of real paternal figures. 

She also has such an adventurous spirit. She liked going out, being outside from the tunnels. She used to offer herself as a volunteer if making an expedition was needed, and she was less afraid about predators than other meerkats. Was in her later adolescence when she met Kondo (which also means “warrior”), a meerkat from her colony a little older than her. Kondo was also a brave meerkat and he had been on some expeditions with her before. These two fall in love quickly. Both of them were satisfied with their lives in the colony, though they used to dream with exploring the rest of the world.  

Over the years, the relationship between Shujaa and Kondo became deeper and stronger, so they ended up getting married. And, when Shujaa found out that she was pregnant, Kondo proposed to her to travel across the world as they always wanted, to finally set up their growing family in some beautiful and safe place to raise their baby. 

Shujaa felt optimistic about her husband´s plan, so she agreed to it. However, the couple of meerkats weren't lucky in their trip since they saw themselves being attacked by hyenas. They tried to fight, but there wasn't very much that they could do. Kondo died and Shujaa ended up hurt and with a missing arm. After that instant, her priorities changed. Injured and pregnant, Shujaa needed a safe place to heal and give birth to ensure the baby's well-being. Fortunately, there was a meerkat colony near where she was, Timon's colony. Of course, they were opposed to letting a foreign meerkat enter their colony at first, but Wema (the name that I gave to Timon's Ma, means “kindness”) intervened. Wema saw Timon in Shujaa, and she tough about  how much she would like that someone helped her son if he would get into a similar situation, so she defended Shujaa and took her under her care. Wema healed her wounds and helped her with her pregnancy. Wema found in Shujaa someone to share her concerns about her son  and Shujaa found in Wema the mother she never had. 

Shujaa got integrated easily in the colony. Despite her lack of one arm, she was able to achieve every work and challenge she found. Wema helped her with her labour and then with the upbringing of her daughter, Kali. Kali had a lot of energy and a big curiosity for the world around her, even if her mother became overprotective after Kondo´s death.

When Timon (with Pumbaa) returned to the colony, Shujaa tried to approach a lot to him at the beginning. Not in a romantic way, she was just interested in the meerkat who had achieved all that she and Kondo couldn't, and also was friend of a warthog. In addition, Wema had told her a lot of stories about Timon (maybe idealizing him a little too much). 

When she noticed that Shujaa was interested in Timon, Wema got very excited at the beginning, and felt hopes that she would be the perfect match to Timon. But, they being a couple… Both Timon and Shujaam quickly discard the idea. Shujaa was still deeply in love with her dead husband and Timon, although he wasn't conscious at that moment, had started to fall in love with Pumbaa. The love between Timon and Shujaa was something that just didn´t happen. Nevertheless, it was true that they had lots of things in common and they loved talking with each other. So, Shujaa became a great friend, not just Timon's, also Pumbaa´s.  Nowadays she lives happily in the oasis with her daughter, Wema and the other meerkats.

Mkali (usually being called just “Kali”. Means “bright”): Kali is a very cheerful kid, fast talking, who loves speaking about the things she loves. She has an inexplicable hyperfixation to “non-meerkats-animals” and she is always looking to learn more about other species. This makes her a very onlooker, but also susceptible to predators. She was the only meerkat cub who never was afraid of Simba when he arrived at the Oasis so they became great friends. 

Kali spent the first years of her life at Timon´s colony, being cared (maybe excessively) by her mom and Wema, who she calls “Bibi” (which means “grandma”). Shujaa was always very open to talk with her daughter about her dad and what happened with him, so Kali always felt a deep love for Kondo, even if she didn't meet him. Wema also talks with her usually, but she tells her about Timon, but, how she grew up listening about Timon just from Wema's point of view, Kali has a little distorted idea of who Timon is. Anyway, she feels a deep devotion to T&P. She loves Timon because he is a “brave explorator” (I laugh at myself writing that LMAO) and loves Pumbaa because he is a warthog (oh wow, a non-meerkat!). Also she appreciates her uncle Pumbaa a lot thanks to he is very kind with her and the only one who never has interrupted her or told her to shut up. Kali loves that the duo take care of her. 

As I said with Shujaa, she also lives happily in the oasis with her mom and her bibi.
