Because it's been in my head and I need to spread it around. DC X DP prompt because Suffering.

What if, instead of Danny being shunted into Gotham during Current Era, Danny gets shunted backwards to the equivalent of the 1980's.

What if, Danny finds and befriends Jason's ghost.

For years, they're friends.

For years, Danny has managed to stay off the Meta Radar because he's both Tired of caping, AND he's terrified that he's going to Butterfly Wing the timeline, even if this isn't really his timeline.

But then, one night, Jason's spirit starts to wail. He starts to heave and scream for help. Danny tries to ghost out for the first time in ages, but he's been de-powered for so long, so unpracticed in using his skills, there's next to nothing he can do.

And Jason, his closest friend in a city that isn't his, in a time he'd barely be a toddler in, is ripped away.

With nothing more then a streak of ectoplasm and a set of scratches across the wall, where his ghostly fingers tried to find purchase.

Meanwhile, in the Lazarus Pitts....

I didn't abandon it.. it left. It walked into that forest of it's own free will and it just wouldn't listen to me...

It was only a few days before the yelling started.

Wails threading through the trees like the morning fog, haunting, lost.

I knew better. I knew not to go into those woods. I couldn't do anything for them now. They were as lost as everything else that went there.

There's nothing I can do for them anymore.

Nothing I can do for that begging, lost voice in the dark.

I leave a lantern burning on the windowsill, cursing myself for wasting the oil, but... there's nothing else I can do. I sit near the fireplace and listen to it's howls of anguish. It's pleading.

There's nothing more I can do.

Right?

It's not an "abandoned" WIP, I didn't intentionally leave it in the forest to die and forget about it, it is a lost wip who wandered into the forest despite my pleas not to. I sit at the edge of the forest every day and hear it calling for help but there is nothing I can do. It is a haunting wip

First of all, the McDonald's lawsuit was a smear job by McDonald's against the woman, and has no bearing on this example of people walking into a dangerous situation and dying because the dice were against them.

And secondly, fuck off with this "Social Darwinism is the fault of dirty capitalist pigs" nonsense.

Humans have been screwing each other over since before we even had currency.

It's not "the dirty, dirty money made them do it"

It's "the dirty dirty money kept even *more* thrill seekers from trying it, and being crushed by Poseidon's meaty thighs."

You damned well know human nature, there would be hundreds of jackasses trying to do the same shit these guys did, if they could afford it.
