9th moon, qu'est-ce que c'est ? ✨ C'est un forum RPG med-fan, aux magies diverses, une sorte de crossover entre différentes races magiques et physiques remises au goût du jour. C'est une communauté si cutie, smooth au possible, où les quêtes vont bon train, où vous pouvez à tout moment vous faire croquer le cul par une aguara ou une alpyre. C'est du level up, de l'imagination à foison, c'est un champ des possibles inimaginables, où les annexes sont modulables selon vos désirs et vos suggestions.

I'm gonna be real, I'm very worried that Larian is going to try & make AA even more overtly the "bad choice" in their next patch (they promised some epilogue animations). I just really don't understand why the antis have to be so obnoxiously loud telling a company to change THEIR game because of a way they choose to interpret something. Isn't the whole point of an RPG that you're allowed to craft a narrative around the narrative-- but to pressure the writers into editing their hard work because they "don't like it" is just so,,,,..ugh

I just wish people would stop infantilizing the crap out of Astarion as a character. They give him all these sweet HC when half of them are just Wyll.. Like the "I can fix him" complex has rotted our society

Get ready, it's 1am, I had my meds, and had some caffeine, so here comes ramble :D

They want to please their fans, and while spawn fans make up a majority of the Astarion side of the fandom, and there may be (speculated) peices in place to make AA seem worse in-game with these updates....I honestly don't think Larian as a whole cares enough to join in on the one-sided righteousness battle.

They made this game for the purpose that most AA fans (at least, ones I know) use it for: roleplaying, as you pointed out. And I'm very sure they aren't blind to just how one-sided the discourse is.

For example, on the official Larian Discord server, AA fans voiced their opinion on the Tav/Durge expressions in the new AA kisses. And from what I saw, the opinions were presently respectfully and with the roleplay experience in mind. How the expressions aren't ideal for evil roleplay. But after that, the same suggestions thread got clogged with anti-AA players begging Larain to "not destroy the narrative" they've apparently been telling and to not listen to us "delulu" AA fans. And the threads were locked by a mod and cleaned up, to "prevent bullying". I think Larian sees clearly who is focused on quality of roleplay and who is focused on arbitrary arguments.

Because the evil endings aren't supposed to be satisfying to those who don't play them. They aren't supposed to be a moral lesson to the player. It's not that meta (no matter how some people want it to be). It's not that type of game. The evil endings are supposed to be satisfying for those who enjoy playing those endings.

It's supposed to be a different experience. Empty and lonely, sure! But it's still meant to be rewarding for the player. Otherwise, it would be pointless to offer as a roleplay style.

I don't think Larian anticipated so many of us would prefer playing evil like this. I think the idea was for it to be a thing you do after you get bored of playing a few good solo runs. It also doesn't make any sense to spend time and money on an ending, just to slap the player on the wrist for choosing it. They see from the stats how often people make certain choices. People play evil in this game for a lot of reasons, but one big one is because it's just good, devious fun! And without any actual, real world consequences. And I think they see that more than anything. I assume you're also talking about the new evil ending updates?

This phrasing from the first article I saw about it is promising to me that these updates will be satisfying for those who actually enjoy playing/romancing evil--as a positive dark romance and not as some abusive romantic tragedy.

I hope "satisfying narrative conclusions" means that the player can enjoy it for their roleplay. And doesn't just mean the endings are rounded out, but the player gets "punished" in the end. I mean, what are you being punished for exactly? Having fun? SERIOUSLY. Any anti-AA fans lurking the tag care to explain exactly WHY you want people to be punished for playing evil in a video game? I really don't get that. And I don't think Larian cares to do that to their consumers.

Truthfully... I'm hoping the new evil ending fixes will fix Minthara's bugs for one thing. But I also am hoping that it will give us some good AA content. I don't even want to speculate... I'm just gonna wait and see!

AND YES. The infantilization of Astarion and the whole concept of "oh what a cute helpless silly lil bby gorl who needs saving from himself, must be protected and shown who he should be because my Tav/Durge knows best for someone they barely know who's a different creature from them entirely" is...just...

resisted in minute ways, such as intentionally falling victim to senioritis ( oops, i got a 1 on the ap chem exam? guess that'll tank my chances of getting into a good pre-med program... ) and eventually entering college undeclared — of course with the express purpose of declaring for the arts once mom wasn't looking

fell victim to the extreme level of independence afforded her as a freshman living away from home, late nights out and generally slacking off on academics

a choice ( her joke, since she was browsing in the choice music store at the time ) visit to ktown introduced her to an open audition by midas music

passes and joins the company in early 2017, too late to be considered for haute pink — which is a relief b/c the competitiveness terrifies her

overall unused to the harsh training environment, which somehow winds up being an asset b/c it becomes very easy to crush her into submission

part of it is the sunk-cost fallacy, not wanting to prove her mom right that a career in the arts is not for her and/or that she screwed up by making such a monumental decision at such a young age ( and suckering her dad into enabling her )

ultimately winds up debuting as a soloist with a two-fold purpose — as a counterpart to her predecessor, the nation's goddess, and to push midas further into the west's pockets by following haute pink's example

her western push was halted by claims from former classmates ( with yearbook photos as proof ) stating some not so true things about copying homework and stealing boyfriends, the former of which called her admission to ucla into question. which then led to some dorm mates ( whom she only lived with from september to february ) saying some kinda true things — but leaving out the part where they drank all her milk and that's why she snapped at them.

will reluctantly admit these days that she feels she has a nothingburger of a career — her music is successful and popular b/c it's easy to listen to, her appearances on variety are less to express her opinion on things but to lure people in with her quirky personality. she posts daily and is known to be one of the more terminally online idols, but after half a decade as an artist, she expected to do more with her life

sense of self or identity? who's that, lena sure as hell doesn't know lol. ( and her fans are starting to realize that )

is at a teensy bit of a crossroads now. part of being a soloist means being seen as a little more authentic than an idol beholden to group dynamics and image, but people are slowly waking up to her insincerity. knows she has to lean in one direction or the other -- but having to figure out a personality is scary ( and something she probably should've figured out in her formative years, which she unfortunately spent training )

I am Rizz!

I am a HUGE TR (Tomb Raider) fan who loves RPG games or anything that provokes a challenge or a grind. In my first year of stream I have completed over TEN challenge runs that consist of no healing and no dying.

I have also started my speedrun journey but still in the beginning stages. I was able to make an appearance on GDQ and complete Tomb Raider 1 in just a little over 2hrs which was my FIRST LEGIT run, which was absolutely amazing! I am also the FIRST & ONLY FEMALE IN THE WORLD to complete Tomb Raider 2 No Loads No Meds All Secrets and Pistols Only!! Would love to connect and meet more and more people out there through the gaming world!!

Thess vs ALL THE DEMOS

It’s not a Steam Next Fest, but last night I was sitting there going, “I hurt too much to sleep and I should do some hyperfocus Zen until the pain meds kick in a bit more or I’m too tired to care” and decided to prune my current Demo folder. And then today I went perusing for more demos (thanks to recent time spent on DREDGE, it really wants to throw eldritch horror at me, to the point where it’s pointing me at things where not even the demo is out yet, never mind the game). So now there are a lot more demos.

Sometimes I worry about seeming pretentious because I barely play anything that isn’t indie or, like, nearly a decade old? But honestly, I think I’ll just be glad I can sit here and celebrate indie games. Besides, the Stray Gods: RPG Musical demo dropped and this is David Gaider writing and a whole lot of very talented voice actors and I have got to see this. And the others look interesting.

So, yeah. More demos.

Lake: This one’s an older game, but it’s been on my wishlist for quite awhile. I just hadn’t seen the demo before. I was checking the store page to see how long it’s going to be on sale, since I was considering adding it to my purchases when Cook, Serve, Forever and Pan’Orama come out in a couple of days, and boom, demo. So I gave it a try to see if I actually wanted to buy the thing. And ... I think I do? I mean, there’s some vehicular stuff that occasionally feels a little counterintuitive to me, and I’ve clearly been living in this country too long because I keep driving on the wrong side of the road, and some of the people in that town need a slap across the mouth (don’t even get me started about Meredith’s regular boss), but there are stories there and I want to see where they go. And I haven’t crashed the postal van yet, so that’s something. Basically it’s driving around, delivering mail, occasionally talking to people, and getting bits and pieces of the stories that float around little quasi-rural towns in Oregon. The scenery’s nice too.

Blue Wednesday: This one’s kind of a maybe. The bit of it I played was interesting, but I’d really need to practice the piano minigame if I really want to actually do the thing. Then again, I guess that’s what playing the game is for. ...Also admittedly this one hits a bit close to home, as it features a young aspiring jazz musician who’s more or less having to put his dreams of being a professional musician on hold because capitalism, basically. I think everybody who’s likely to play this one is going to get a twinge out of that one, and that’s just the first in-game day. So I’ll be keeping an eye on that one when it comes out - the gameplay’s pretty clever and the premise is relatable, for sure.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical: I got fairly interested in this one as soon as I heard about it. This game has got pedigree. David Gaider’s one of the directors and writers, one of the other directors was writing for Pillars of Eternity, and as for the cast ... well, in the demo alone I got Laura Bailey, Ashley Johnson, and Khary Payton, plus a couple “I know that one sounds familiar” that haven’t hit IMDB yet and Janina Gavankar, who I mostly know from having been into True Blood and a fairly minor role in Horizon Zero Dawn’s The Frozen Wilds expansion ... but also from some of the Forspoken trailers. Anyway, it also has Troy Baker, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Allegra Clark, Erika Ishii, Rahul Kohli, Anjali Bhimani, Felicia Day (which ... ehh for me but y’know)... Fans of Critical Role will know a lot of these voices. But still, pedigree doesn’t count for much if the story and mechanics aren’t there. Now, the demo’s really short, and doesn’t touch on the plot that much? But the mechanics are interesting. Basically ... okay, think of it as The Wicked and the Divine meets Scooby Doo meets that one Buffy musical episode, Once More With Feeling, where you’re given options and the decisions you make not only affect how you proceed, but also shape the lyrics of your big musical numbers. It’s honestly clever as shit, and that’s another one I don’t think I’d mind pre-ordering. Don’t know if that’ll be an option, but it’s coming out in August, so at least it’s not a massively long wait.

Lighthouse of Madness: Steam has been throwing eldritch horror at me because of the amount of time I’ve spent on DREDGE lately, so here we are. This one’s ... interesting but problematic. I mean, it’s first person, so that’s an issue for me, and honestly the controls are a little janky. It looks wonderfully atmospheric and creepy, but it’s a low priority on my wish list because honestly, I’m not sure how well I’d be able to play it. Still, lots more eldritch horror where that came from.

Not right now, though - if for no other reason than that this post is going to get insanely long if I don’t knock it off. So more later - this is going to be a “Poking At Demos” kind of weekend. Yaaaaaay!

11: What were their teenage years like? oh FUCK okay uh. I think she was way less popular in high school than her little sister, so a lot of her time was spent split between dealing with her bullshit, and robotics team. zero time to figure out that she's gay, that came much later.

12: What were their favorite hobbies as a teen? god this one is so hard for me to think about. what did nerdy teens even do in the time between the satanic panic and the rise of Home Internet :tm:... I think maybe she went to the beach and looked at tidepools a lot, which usually sucked bc she lived in Massachusetts and it was always cold on the beach, but she did it anyway because the little creatures and algaes were so cool to her. oh god also she was a gamer I think, fuck, she totally played video games in high school but I have no idea which ones they would have been.

13: How do they like to spend afternoons free? I don't think Dr. Tabrizi ever considered herself to have a free afternoon from the day she started med school to the mandatory vacation death cruise. Every time monster hunting shenanigans came up, she's had to do a lot of cleaning up of her missed appointments and work hours afterwards, which always works out because she's ludicrously tenured. In what we might consider free time, she's usually expanding her lore database while anonymously shitposting on Sable's Stable.

14: What does their midday meal look like? One big meal? Lots of snacks throughout the day? Dr. Tabrizi usually just takes a large snack or two between lectures/appointments. She's not much of a food person, usually, but vacation with Cassandra is changing that.

15: Do they prefer warm days or cool ones? Warm, definitely. She's usually inside anyway, and it's more tolerable for her on the way to her car.

16: How do they feel about rain? It's nice when she's trying to fall asleep, but she's not a fan otherwise.

Tu n'es qu'une addition de ce que tu as dû être pour ta survie. Tu es un vaisseau vide, une carcasse mécanique. Tu es ce dont tu as besoin, jamais ce que, autrefois, tu as pu rêver être.

Lazarus est un changeforme, issu d’un clan décimé par la royauté - un exemple pour dissuader toute révolte. Pour survivre, il décide d’user de la capacité de son peuple qui effraie tant la noblesse : il tue et récupère la peau de ses victimes pour la porter, ainsi il prend leur apparence. Il devient ses victimes. Il n’a aucune ambition, sinon causer la mort, le chaos au hasard, altéré par les massacres auxquels il a assistés, convaincu de son insignifiance dans une lutte perdue d’avance. Déjà perdue. Il est incapable d’imaginer une victoire quand son clan entier a tout perdu. Résigné, éteint, il erre dans le royaume tel un fantôme. Près d’une décennie plus tard, il sera enrôlé dans une guilde d’assassins à la capitale, ayant gagné assez d’assurance pour s’infiltrer chez ses ennemis.    

Derrière ses masques se cache le syndrome de l’imposteur. Étranger à son clan d’accueil. Décalé à son clan natal. La faute de son obsession, et du temps. Le refuge, loin des siens, n’en a jamais été un pour lui. Rien qu’un mensonge. Les retrouver a été à la fois un soulagement et un déchirement. Quand il découvre des survivants plus d’une décennie plus tard, il jure instinctivement des les protéger coûte que coûte. Mais toujours, le décalage. Quand eux bouillonnent de ferveur et d’idéaux, les siens se sont ternis.

Lazarus observe le monde des vivants, observe les gens vivre. Pour mieux faire illusion. Et pendant la moitié de sa vie, il s’est nourri des autres, absorbant leurs manières, leurs traits de caractère. Le Lazarus jeune est quelque part, noyé dans ses traumatismes, sa colère, sa haine. Il a peur. De rêver de vengeance et d’attirer le malheur. De refaire surface et inspirer de cet air interdit à jamais à d’autres.

Kiddo Sites/Apps!

Hi hi! I always see a lot of posts recommending sites and apps for age regressors but a lot of the time they’re the same things, so I thought I’d make my own! All the sites and apps on here are free, don’t worry! (Some may have ads or in-app purchase, though!) It’s under the cut cause I tried to include some preview pictures which made it kinda long!      This is probably my FAVOURITE site for when I’m regressed! It’s made by Disney fans for Disney fans, and is updated with new activites pretty often! It has a bunch of safe and fun games, quizzes, coloring pages, and even things like analysis charts for kiddos whose special interest or hyperfixation is Disney! It has dress up games that are super-duper easy and cute, and I love them because their style looks like it could come right out of the film it’s from! Like the dresses and everything, and they stick to each princess’s style while making different dresses from the original ones! It’s crazy!!

-PBS Kids

     A classic but awesome site!! You can watch all sorts of episodes for free, you don’t have to put in an email or anything! There are even games and episodes from shows that have long since gone off the air!

-American Girl

     Don’t be fooled by the site’s title, this site is for everyone! If you’re familiar with the American Girl characters, there’s lots of dress up and themed games, and if you’re not familiar with the characters, don’t worry cause there’s still super cute games like pet grooming and, my favourite, Coconut’s Safari! I linked to the games page, but there’s quizzes and polls, too!

     I’m sure a lot of you know about Webkinz already, but it hasn’t gone anywhere even after all these years! It’s one of my favourite sites, and it’s free to play now! For people unfamiliar with Webkinz, it’s a virtual world where you can raise a pet, decorate rooms, and collect all sorts of objects, food, and clothing! You can play this one online, with their new desktop app, or with their mobile app! (I will warn you, though, the mobile app does not have that much stuff on it)

     Poptropica has been around for a while too, but it’s changed a lot in recent years! You can play it online and there’s also an app. This one is probably for older kiddos, though - it has a lot of puzzles and requires a lot of thinking at times, so if you’re looking for a relaxing game this probably isn’t it.

- Habitica

     Habitica is a super-duper easy habit tracker/reminder app! I use it to remind me to take my meds, shower, brush my teeth, things like that! But you put in your habits and to-do list so you can personalize it! Usually I don’t like apps like this because they offer no incentive but Habitica turns it into an RPG like Dungeons and Dragons!! So you can level up and get equipment and even pets! What I love about it, too, is that if you ever have any question, their FAQ is super clear and easy to understand, which makes it ideal for autistic kids like me!

- Cookie Run

     Cookie Run is an oldie but a goldie! It’s a running platformer game where you can collect lots of cute cookies and their pets and learn their stories! Plus there’s canon LGBTQ+ rep with some of the cookie heroes! Cookie Run has a lot of bright colours and fast movement though, so it might not be the best game for kiddos with seizures or sensory issues!

- My Tamagotchi Forever

     Super cute revamp of tamagotchi!! Your pets don’t run away or anything in this one, haha! You can decorate your town and your house with coins you earn from simple minigames, and you can dress up your tamagotchis in different outfits and fill out their scrapbooks and collect them all! I really liked this app, definitely one of my favorites :)

- Hello Kitty Lunchbox

     Super simple “cooking” game! Again, this is a super easy, no hassle game and is good for really young kiddos. You get to make a lunch for Hello Kitty and decorate it, along with her lunchbox before “eating” your meal. But again, I wanna stress this one is super simple and some kids may get bored of it.

-Pocket Ponies

     A My Little Pony version of the classic ball shooter game. You aim to hit enemies with your balls, and eventually charge up your ponies so they can perform their special action. You get to collect My Little Pony characters and each one has a different ability.

-Hello Kitty Music Party

     This one’s more of an idle tapper game. It wants you to tap on your screen along with the beat of the music, but even if you don’t tap with the beat you can still get rewards! It has a couple cutesy pop songs in the app, but it can also access your music library on your device so you can tap with whatever you want! The app itself doesn’t offer much instruction but it’s fairly simple to figure out. But like the other Hello Kitty game, it can grow boring quickly for some kids, which is why it became an idle game for me. 

-Disney TsumTsum

     This one is kind of like Bejeweled or Candy Crush - you connect little Disney characters to make them “pop!” You get to collect a bunch of different characters and each character has a special ability.

YOUTUBE CHANNELS

-RescueHero’s Nostalgia Zone

     A lesser known channel but it’s one of my favorites! It’s a gameplay channel, but pretty much every video is old video games like TV plug and plays, leapster/leap frog games, or CD-ROM games from the 2000s. It’s an active channel, too, and tends to upload every week or so! From what I can tell, there’s no voiceover and their videos are just simple, nostalgic gameplay.

     This one’s a little weird but it’s very wholesome - it’s a grandma in her 80′s(?) who loves to play video games! She mostly plays games for older kiddos like Skyrim, but her videos are very calming and she’s very cute in the way she comments on games. She’s super sweet to her viewers and calls them her grandkids, and usuaslly responds in comments. Her videos are also easy videos to listen to in the background, too.

     I don’t watch a lot of toy channels because a lot of the time they’re over the top and super corny or just... really weird, but this channel is run by two people (I think they are a couple but I’m not sure) named Shannon and Paul, and they’re very casual about their videos (despite the corny thumbnails, lol). Anyway, they mostly do blind bag openings for trinkets and toys that are currently on the shelves - things like Tokidoki, LOL Dolls, Shopkins, minifigures, things like that. It’s a very good channel if you like those cutesy sorts of things but don’t have the money to get them yourself! To my knowledge they’re not really sponsored, so there’s no encouraging you to buy a product or anything like that. Like I said, they’re very casual and do talk during the videos but they talk a little slow and there’s no background music, so they are very easy to understand! I believe Shannon also has a doll-specific channel, too, if you’re into that.

     Better known as piropito, this channel is well known for its really cute and wholesome Minecraft gameplay that you can start watching here. This is a Japanese channel, but he captions his own videos, so don’t worry! Anyway, his goal was to figure out everything in Minecraft with absolutely no cheats or searching the web for information or anything like that. That’s really the only thing I’d recommend on this channel, however, and do be careful because they do have some horror game playthroughs on there so stay safe!

     Not much to explain here! It’s Sesame Street, and they post clips of the show, songs, and sometimes even full episodes.

How about Lorem and the human having fun playing video games?

Heck yeah, our first request! Sorry that it took a bit for me to get around to this, my ADHD meds ran out and I wasn't able to get more for a day or so.

- Despite making an Animal Crossing-esque game, Lorem is an avid fan of a wide variety of games from across several different genres and is very excited to see what you'll think of them. You're a bit confused as to how Lorem accumulated so many different games with the salary of a postal worker, but you don't question it- you don't know everything about dragon economics, after all.

- Paradoxically, Lorem is awful at games solely based on PvP, but will easily kick your ass in the dragon equivalent of Minecraft. When you question him about why this is the case, he admits he doesn't really know why either. You mentally add it to the list of Eccentric Lorem Things.

- It's practically impossible to get Lorem to ragequit, since he's pretty determined and usually cheerful about losing. If you're the kind of person that ragequits easily, expect a lot of variations on "Why are you getting so angry? Did I do something wrong?" from him. He perks up pretty quickly once you reassure him that you're just mad at the game, though he still doesn't fully understand why you're so angry.

- Lorem gets fixated on whatever the two of you are playing very easily and is willing to stay up to four in the morning and beyond regardless of how exhausted he'll be the next morning if he thinks it'll impress you, though he's not going to force you to stay up late if you don't want to. He's probably fallen asleep on you at least once and gotten very embarrassed about it as soon as he woke up. It's kind of cute, honestly.

- Lorem will often send you increasingly nonsensical memes based around whatever game you're playing, usually at some ungodly hour. You can tell which ones he's made himself because they usually have a much higher image resolution than the ones he grabs off the internet.

- Lorem usually tries to work together with you if you're playing together and doesn't backstab you unless you've done something to deserve it (in-game, of course), though you usually have a minute or so of advance warning because he starts smirking and shifting his arm to hide his controller from you. He tends to apologize afterwards anyway, so you can't really get mad at him.

- Lorem has a soft spot for old-school RPGs and often invites you over to play them, which usually ends up being one of you sitting there watching the other actually play the game. His commentary is unexpectedly funny, and if he's played it before on his own, he'll make several jokes about upcoming plot points that you don't understand until they actually happen.
