Trust in Me Ch10
Tony was back in that room again; the same room he visited night after night when he closed his eyes and begged for sleep. He sighed deeply, aware of how this would play out.
“You look worse than I feel.” She joked, though a simple laugh pained her.
Tony shook his head, “Blunt as always sis.”
Tony walked over to where his sister lay in her bed, trying to ignore the blood-soaked cloth the nurses were taking away. She looked so small laying there; his big, strong sister, looked fragile. He was scared to hold her hand, afraid she might break.
She grinned as best she could, “I can happily say this illness has not dulled my wits.”
They sat in silence, both aware that more needed to be said.
 “Tony…” Lia began.
“You know I was reading about this new study in Sweden.” Tony interrupted.
 “Tony…” Lia sighed.
“They’re not saying they can cure this thing, but the experimental procedures have so far proven successful in reducing the more aggressive symptoms…”
“Tony…please.” Lia said, a tone of desperation that made Tony pause.
“I can fix this.” Tony said, though he couldn’t look her in the eye.
Lia placed her hand over Tony’s, an act that still calmed him to this day.
“I love you Tony. I am so proud of the amazing man you’ve become. You’re going to do amazing things with the ideas swirling around in that big head of yours; and I know if anyone could find a way to cure this it would be you…” She smiled.
Tony looked up at her, a sad smile of his own resting on his lips.
“…but you can’t fix this one little brother. Im not recovering from this and I’ve made peace with that.”
She paused to cough into her tissue; the sound so painful it made Tony wince.
“You can’t fix me, but you can help me Tony.”
Tony moved closer to her, moving the sweat soaked hair off her forehead. “Name it. I’ll do anything. I’ll call dad, he’ll listen…”
“I don’t have long, and with the way things are with the Tatum’s, I’m not sure how long Raf has either.” She said honestly, tears forming in her eyes. “I need you to promise me, Y/N will be safe.”
Tony nodded his head in response, unable to speak.
“No Tony, I need to hear you say it.” Lia said, her tone firm.
Tony took in a shaky breath, the tears he’d been holding back, suddenly flowing freely.
 “I promise.”
Lia smiled up at her little brother, her features turning from strained to soft. She looked peaceful.
Tony was suddenly out of his body watching the scene in front of him. He watched his sister thank him, he watched himself kiss her forehead and get up to leave.
“Turn around.” Tony said, as he watched his past-self walk towards the door.
 But he didn’t slow down.
“Turn around!” Tony yelled, but his past-self had already put one foot out the door.
“Turn around!” Tony yelled again, only this time he wasn’t dreaming, he was in his room at the tower.
Pepper woke up with him; his yells always woke her, but they never surprised her. She tried to comfort him, but he was already out the bed and pacing. She knew what dream had provoked this reaction, and she knew better than to ask about it.
And that was how Tony found himself in the kitchen area of his niece’s apartment. He was drinking his second cup of coffee, trying to keep himself awake so he wouldn’t fall back into that dream.
The noise of footsteps caught his attention. He hadn’t expected to see the God of Mischief up and about this early in the day. Loki was equally surprised to see Tony in his new living quarters.
 “Stark.” Loki nodded.
“Stark? No nickname or snipe?” Tony asked, sarcasm traceable in his tone.
“Cutesy nicknames are more your forte are they not?” Loki quipped, as he prepared the kettle to boil.
Tony scoffed, “You’re losing your touch reindeer games. Perhaps you’re going soft.”
Loki looked down at the two mugs he’d laid out on the counter, “Perhaps.”
They went about their business in silence, neither one paying much attention to the other.
“How was she?” Tony asked, unable to look up at the God.
Loki looked over at Tony, noticing that the billionaire’s normal arrogant posture had altered to something humbler and shyer.
“She was upset, understandably.” Loki spoke truthfully.
Tony nodded, “I should have taken more precautions.” he said, more to himself than Loki.
Loki continued to make two cups of tea in silence. He was about to return to Y/N’s room when he noticed the look of despair in Tony’s eyes. From the amount of time Loki had been at the tower, and his few interactions with the man of iron, Loki had deduced him to be a haunted man. It was clear that Tony was greeted nightly by the ghosts of his past; the dark circles under his eyes were evidence enough of that. What had also become apparent, was that Tony was haunted in his day-to-day actions. Every time he acted in Y/N’s best interests, it was as if a voice was in his head telling him to do more.
Every fibre of Loki’s being told him to walk away, that it wasn’t his place to comment; but that damned voice in his head was awake and urging Loki to speak.
“From what I gather, you’re doing everything within your capabilities to keep her safe.” Loki began, startling Tony who had forgotten he wasn’t alone.
“I know how it feels to fail at protecting someone you…love. It’s only natural to want to protect the one thing you have left…”
“You have no idea…” Tony started, but Loki interjected.
“I know. I don’t know what you went through, nor do I presume to offer advice on the subject.” Loki clarified. “But I do know that Y/N wouldn’t want you to torment yourself like this.”
This caused Tony to look at the trickster for the first time during their conversation.
Loki continued, “As far as she’s concerned, everything you’re doing is enough.”
Loki decided to leave it at that, aware he had probably overstepped. As he was about to turn down the corridor leading to Y/N’s room, two cups in hand, Tony’s voice stopped him.
 “Thanks…Loki.”
Loki nodded in response and continued on his way.
Tony finished his coffee, a small smirk on his lips at having had an insightful conversation with the God of mischief. He wanted to believe what Loki had said, that he was doing right by his niece. But no matter how often he convinced himself of this during the day, by night that memory would still haunt him.
He would always regret having not turned around, he would always regret not taking one last look at her; because minutes after Tony had left that room, Lia died.
Y/N slowly stirred awake, the smell of tea greeting her as she turned in her bed.
“I didn’t mean to wake you.” Loki said, smiling softly at her dishevelled appearance.
She was wearing one of Tony’s old band T-shirts that was far too big for her and a pair of pyjama shorts. Her usually combed, wavy hair was a little wilder, with curls forming in its unruliness. Y/N was a little self-conscious, aware that she must look unkept; part of her wishes she had woken up before him to sneak into the bathroom and freshen up.
 Loki thought she looked beautiful.
“That’s okay. I’m glad you did.” She said with a smile.
Loki smiled in return and took a seat beside her on the bed.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Loki noticed her sudden shyness but did not push to know why.
She eventually spoke up, “About last night… I’m sorry for being so emotional. I got so comfortable being there. I think I was just caught off guard by their words, I should have been prepared.”
Loki shook his head, “You shouldn’t have to prepare for hatred Y/N.”
She smiled sadly, wishing that were true. She continued to drink the tea Loki had made for her.
“I should have said something to them.” Loki admitted.
Y/N was surprised by his words. But felt instantly guilt upon hearing them.
“No Loki.” She said, reaching for his hand. “There was nothing you could have done. They have already made their minds up about me; besides, I’d hate to see you get into trouble for me.”
Loki smiled at her concern. He reached out to move Y/N’s hair out the way of her eyes, then delicately cupped her face and ran the pad of this thumb over her cheekbone.
“It’d be worth it.” He said, with that devilish smirk and a gleam of mischief in his eye.
Y/N laughed, tilting her head further into his palm. Like the night before, Loki felt an overwhelming urge to kiss her again, and by the look in her eye, it appeared she felt the same.
Loki leaned in first to gauge her reaction, only to find her do the same. It was as if a piece of string was pulling them together. All this time, wherever she moved so did he and vice versa; right now, it felt like the string was encircling them, gently pushing them together.
Their foreheads were touching now, one move and their lips would be sealed in a long-awaited kiss.
That would have been the case if a young spiderling hadn’t knocked on the bedroom door.
Peter was surprised to see Loki answer the door and confused by the deep red blush on Y/n’s cheeks.
“Sorry um, I can come back later.” Peter said awkwardly.
“That’s quite alright, I need to be going.” Loki assured him.
 “Going?” Y/N asked.
“The Shield agents are trying out their new weapons at the tower today, me and Thor are the test subjects.” Loki explained, seemingly bored of the day’s plans before they started.
Loki was about to leave when Y/N called out, “Be careful.”
Loki turned back around, his heart beating faster at her concern. She seemed shocked by her own words, but not regretful she had spoken them. Meanwhile, Peter started putting all the pieces together, a knowing smile on his face.
“I will.” Loki promised, and left.
To say Loki was bored would be an understatement. He was supposed to be listening to Fury drone on and on about how these new weapons could take on an alien invasion, his one good eye landing on Loki and Thor as he spoke. Loki’s mind was other places, more precisely, in Y/N’s bed. When he thought to himself how he could still be lying in bed with his arms around you, it made him loathe Shield and their experimental weapons.
“Cheer up Loki, people will begin to think you don’t want to be here.” Nat said quietly, standing beside the God.
Despite their difficult beginnings, Nat had been more hospitable towards Loki than most residents of the tower. Using her years of training, Nat had been watching and analysing the God’s actions during his stay at the tower. Through her investigation she summarised him to be decent enough. His interactions with Y/N had convinced Nat he was worth talking to.
“Then my reputation as a team player will be ruined. How will I live.” Loki said, earning a chuckle from Nat.
“These weapons are designed to protect. They are defence not offence. I do not want to see your stupid asses blowing each other up; firstly, because the cleaning bill would be too high. Secondly….” Fury went on.
“I was surprised to see you here today; I thought you’d be preoccupied.” Thor said as quietly as he could, joining in on Loki and Nat’s conversation.
 “With what?” Loki asked, uninterested.
“I think you mean, with whom?” Nat interjected.
Loki rolled his eyes at their antics, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“The blush on your cheeks says otherwise, brother.” Thor teased.
Loki ignored their knowing glances and quiet chuckles, though he couldn’t deny a small part of him felt a tiny thrill at being associate with Y/N.
He had always been independent, he did not seek out unnecessary company on Asgard, nor did he welcome it when approached with the prospect. Yet, something about being linked with someone, a person he had grown such an affection for, and for that link to be recognised, felt safe.
The training had started, and the new weapons were tried and tested. The weapons had proven affective when they hit their target, but Loki had proved to be too fast for them. Fury would have to investigate the speed element.
As the agents were packing away their tools, Loki, Nat and Thor were getting ready to retire for the day; they were tired but mostly due to boredom.
 That’s when Loki overheard them.
“Shame they picked those guys. I could think of a few of Fury’s ratpack I’d like to try these out on.” One agent said waving the new iron glove Shield had made to improve the effectiveness of the good old-fashioned punch.
“Oh yeah, like you could take them on.” Another agent scoffed.
“I’d like to take a crack at the winter soldier. A little payback you know?” The third said.
Nat had begun to listen too, aware of how dangerous this conversation could go.
“How about Banner? See if he’s all that without the big guy.” They joked.
Nat whipped her head around and was about to taser the stupid man, but Thor took a gentle hold of her wrist, shaking his head though his eyes showed a similar anger to hers.
“What about the Tatum girl?” The first one spoke again, trying on the iron glove. “You know the stories of her family, maybe there is a little Viking in her that just needs coaxing out.”
Loki had stopped what he was doing. Nat and Thor watched him closely, aware of the anger radiating off his body.
“Besides, people would probably thank me.” The agent said, the implication clear.
That was it, within a matter of second Loki was holding the man two feet off the ground by his collar.
 “Loki don’t!” Thor warned.
Nat approached him, “If you get into trouble you’ll be sent back to your father and where will that leave her?”
Loki contemplated her words and the words of Y/N earlier that day, “I’d hate to see you get into trouble for me.”
Loki let go the agent, the petty man falling harshly to his feet.
Loki was about to turn away, but the agent became aware of the weapon wrapped around his hand and gave a swift blow to Loki’s right cheek.
Thor grabbed Mjölnir, ready to attack, but Nat beat him to it, having already tasered the guy until he was a shaking mess on the floor.
The other Shield agents rallied around their friend, “Fury! Did you see that!?”
Fury had indeed seen everything, including the distasteful comments of the Shield agents. “Nope.” Fury said and with that he left.
Thor looked at his brother; Loki was trying to wipe away the blood on his cheek, but the wound was open and gushing. Thor took him to see Bruce.
“Peter please stop apologising. You did nothing wrong.” Y/N insisted for the umpteenth time.
“I know…but if I hadn’t invited you to the carnival...” Peter insisted.
“Then I never would have tried a corn dog, or seen the lights, or ridden a Ferris wheel. No matter how it ended, I’m still grateful I got to do all that.” Y/N smiled.
Peter finally relented, feeling assured that Y/N didn’t regret celebrating his birthday with him.
“Well now that we’ve settled that… wanna talk about Loki?” Peter asked with a sly smile.
Y/N’s face began to turn red again, but before she could say anything Nat knocked on the open door.
 “Hey guys.”
Y/N noticed the concerned look on her face, “Everything okay?”
“Bruce is checking Loki over. There was an altercation at training and Loki got hurt.” Nat explained.
Y/N’s heartbeat quickened, her stomach churning. “An altercation? Why?”
Nat smiled knowingly, “He had to defend his lady’s honour of course.”
Y/N ran to the infirmary where Bruce was inspecting the gash on Loki’s cheek. She knocked quickly on the door.
“I have a feeling I know who that is.” Bruce said kindly as he opened the door to Y/N and excused himself.
“You’re hurt.” She said, then mentally scolded herself for stating the obvious.
“It’s just a scratch.” Loki tried to sound reassuring, despite the blood on his face.
Y/N approached him on the hospital bed he was sat on. She took a seat beside him and grabbed the antiseptic tissue. She began gently cleaning his wound, careful not to apply too much pressure.
“Nat said there was an altercation.” Y/N spoke.
Loki sighed, “A Shield agent was speaking out of turn.”
 Y/N nodded, “About me?”
Loki nodded, not wanting to repeat what the stupid man had said.
Y/N wanted to thank him, but she had thanked him so much since he had arrived at the tower, that she wasn’t sure the word would correctly convey just how much his actions meant to her. So, she gathered up her courage and decided to let her actions speak for themselves.
Daintily holding his chin by the tips of her fingers, she brought her face closer to his, and kissed him sweetly on the lips.
Loki froze at first; having grown so used to a lack of intimacy in his life, Loki had been stunned to feel something so lovely.
The shock wore off quickly and Loki responded, deepening the kiss, weaving his fingers through her hair. The kiss was leisurely; it was both filled with excitement and contentment.
This would be the first kiss of many.

Meanwhile,
Lucifer sat in a small cafe with a bottle of whiskey in front of him. He was enjoying watching the drunken humans make total fools of themselves.
“Having fun?”
He looked up to see none other then Anael looking down at him. Lucifer gave him his best pouty smile.
“Awe, did you miss me?”
Anael rolled her eyes before sitting down.
“Hardly, I am only here because I have news that could be of some use to you.”
Lucifer put a hand on his heart acting like he was having a heart attack.
“Oh, you are so hurtful! You are breaking my poor little heart! Now that I have gotten that out of my system, what do you have to tell me?”
Anael rolled her eyes. As much as she hated dealing with Lucifer at the moment it was good news to share. Lucifer's voice interrupted her thoughts,
“Did you find my kid? Please tell me that you did because I am getting a little impatient and you know how me and impatience don't go well together.”
Anael focused her cat-like gaze on the prince of darkness before speaking.
“No, regrettably, I was unable to locate your child as you asked. I do, however, know that you have other family that you could use.”
Lucifer scowled before slouching down in his chair.
“I doubt whatever you have to say isn't going to make me happy. You’re a party pooper.”
Anael rolled her eyes.
“You have a niece and I think she would be of some interest to you. The angels are really concerned about her.”
Lucifer's eyes widened.
“A niece, huh? Well, look at that some other angel has been bad too! Why should I care about some other Nephilim when I have my own kid to worry about?”
Anael smiled.
“Because she is half Nephilim and half archangel.”
Lucifer sat up straighter, looking clearly confused.
“Half Archangel? What is Michael and Raphael up to?”
Anael smirked.
“It wasn't either of them.”
Lucifer's scowl became more defined.
“It's not possible! Gabriel is dead! I killed him!”
Anael rolled her eyes.
“Not quite. He's alive and kicking. Your niece is five years old and smart! The smartest I have ever seen. She has a lot of potential”
Lucifer looked completely baffled! Gabriel had literally placed him like a fiddle! Lucifer taught Gabriel all of his tricks and now they had been used against him.
“That little son of a bitch played me! He made me feel, feelings! I want you to go get that kid! I want her too!”
Anael snorted.
“Sorry, I am not going after her! I am not foolish enough to go up against Gabriel. He'll kill me when it comes to that child. Not to mention I am kind of concerned about what that child can actually do. If you want her, go get her yourself. I should probably also mention that the child is also being protected by Amara.”
Lucifer stood. He was done listening to this bullshit!
“I'll go find them myself. I swear if you want something done right you have to do it yourself! This time that brother of mine is dying!”
Meanwhile, back with Team Free Will....
“Prove to me that you actually love me and that I can trust you....that's my word.”
Gabriel had to look away from you. There was that disappointed expression that he was given so often. Maybe Loki was right? Maybe he was a failure? He had it all with you before; someone who loved him and relationship should!
You meanwhile, kept your attention focused on Gabriel. His face looked almost hopeless! Even after everything that he had put you through; you still felt pain when you saw that look in his eyes.
“What happened to your face?”
You asked softly. Gabriel’s head snapped up as he thought about the ass beating that Loki had given him.
“Had my ass kicked.”
He said with an embarrassed expression. Your worries expression intensified.
“It’s alright, sugar. It wasn’t the worst thing that has happened to me.”
You didn’t look convinced enough. You walked to Gabriel putting a hand on his cheek healing the bruise.
“Is your grace weak again?”
Gabriel gave you a nervous chuckle.
“Yea, peach. Everything about me is weak apparently.”
Gabriel immediately reached out taking your hands in his.
“It isn’t your fault so please don’t even think of it. Y/n, I’ll sing like a canary if it fixes things between us. I’ll let you know everything you want to know. You want my life story I’ll tell you every grimy detail.”
You were clearly surprised! This was a whole new side to Gabriel. You expected Gabriel to put up a fight or do one of his cunning little jokes. Sitting down on the bed, you patted the place beside you.
“Whatever you want to tell me.”
You said softly. Curiosity was definitely getting the better of you! Gabriel nodded as he joined you on the bed.
30 minutes later, you sat beside Gabriel with your mouth hanging open. Your head was spinning with everything that Gabriel had just told you! For a few moments, you had no idea what to say to him! From hearing about his wreck of a “childhood” to his decision to leave heaven, up to getting his ass kicked by Loki...all of it was hard to hear!
“Gabriel, I...”
He shook his head.
“You don't have to say anything. Hopefully, you can see why I didn't want to go and spill my guts to you. What kind of girl in the right mind would want to be with a guy like me?”
You answered without thinking.
“One that loves you! Why can't you see that? After everything that you have put me through I still love you more than anyone on this earth! I don't trust you right now! I am not about to jump in bed and fuck you. Like I said, you have a lot to make up for. Gabriel, you are not a failure. I don't even want that in your mind.”
Gabriel rolled his eyes. How could you say that he wasn't a failure? In his mind, he literally failed at everything he has ever done! He failed at being an archangel and he most definitely failed as a soulmate and father.
“Kinda hard for it not to be.”
You stood up fighting the urge to cuddle him. He looked so hurt and vulnerable! You reached out letting your hand cup his face. Gabriel's golden eyes rolled up to your face.
“Y/n, you don't have to do this.”
You shook your head.
“I'm not doing anything. We are going to get you back to your standard archangel power strength and go from there. That is what WE are going to do. Now I am going to go get our daughter so I can get her back to sleep before she talks Jack's ear off.”
Gabriel smirked.
“Jack wouldn't complain. He's missed her.”
You turned and walked into JoyAnna's room where she sat snoozing on Jack's lap. He looked up with a smile.
“I think she is tired.”
Jack stood up and placed the little girl in your arms. You were pleased to see that he hadn't lost his kind demeanor.
“I'm glad to see you, Jack.”
Jack looked overjoyed.
“Me too. We'll talk later in the morning when Joy wakes up.”
You gave his forearm a pat before turning and going back into your bedroom. Gabriel sat on the bed. He quickly looked up as you put Joy in the middle of the bed.
“She will be out for a few hours.”
You said before laying down as Gabriel turned on his side. He looked down at his daughter's little round face and that guilty feeling came right back! Gabriel had missed her birth and the majority of her first few years.
Looking back up at your face, Gabriel reached out intertwining your hands. To his surprise, you didn't pull away.
“It's going to be okay.”
You whispered softly. Gabriel half smiled. Both of you were unsure whether that statement to be true or not. The most that the two of you could do was hope for the best!
Later in the morning when Joy woke up. She between Gabriel and yourself with a small smile before throwing a leg over Gabriel's side to get out of bed. Joy stopped moving when her father's eyes snapped open.
“Where are you going?”
Gabriel questioned softly. JoyAnna pointed to the door.
“Going to find Jack. Mommy is still sleeping?”
Gabriel nodded.
“Yeah, peach.”
Gabriel carefully turned on his back so JoyAnna could slide out of bed a little easier.
“Don't go getting into anything.”
Gabriel whispered. JoyAnna gave him a knowing smirk. She giggled.
“You're good!”
Gabriel chuckled as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
“You have no idea, princess. Now go be a good girl.”
A few hours later, Joy sat on the couch with a quantum mechanics book in front of her as she read to Sam. He was totally surprised that the child could sit there and read word for word each sentence and was able to tell him exactly how the subject worked.
“Wow, Joy.”
Sam managed to get out as he looked over at Dean who was half asleep.
“Maybe you should go teach Dean all about it.”
Joy grinned before she slid off of Sam's lap and went over to Dean. Slinging the book against the eldest Winchester's chest, Joy climbed up to join him. Dean jumped awake and looked down as she started to read.
“What are you doing?”
He asked. Joy pointed to the book and gave him the exact expression Gabriel would when dealing with a stupid person.
“I am teaching you something.”
Dean looked down at the book and right away he felt tired again.
“Kid, I will never use this a day in my life.”
Joy smirked.
“Did you watch Cops like I asked you?”
Dean nodded.
“I was doing character building all night.”
The sound of fluttering wings made Dean look around to see none other than Balthazar. Joy immediately jumped off of Dean's lap and went to the angel holding her hands up. Balthazar reached down picking the child up before noticing Sam and Dean. He automatically frowned before giving them a nod and looking back to his granddaughter. Balthazar knew that he could get whatever he wanted from the child.
“Hello there, sweet pea. What's new around here?”
JoyAnna looked like she was about to pop with all of the excitement that had happened in the last day!
“You have missed a lot grandpa! Daddy came back and so did everyone else! Aunty Amara has stepped out for a bit. She said she was going to visit grandpa Chuck. He's a nervous little guy, huh?”
Balthazar's rage began to build at the mere mention of Gabriel being anywhere near his daughter and granddaughter.
“Love, where are your mum and dad?”
As if cued to do so, you walked into the room with Gabriel behind you. You stopped the moment that you saw your father. Turning to Gabriel, you sighed seeing that frown on his face reappear.
Balthazar, meanwhile, put Joy down.
“Sweetheart, why don't you...”
Joy sighed,
“I know, go play! Sheesh, I am missing everything.”
Once JoyAnna was safely out of earshot Balthazar focused his attention on Gabriel.
“What the bloody hell are you doing here? You left and should have stayed gone, Gabriel. You're made a giant mess out of things as it is.”
Gabriel smiled.
“I am here for my family. I don't know what else it looks like.”
Balthazar frowned.
“You are just going to destroy things.”
Your eyes widened as you tried to get between Gabriel and your father.
“Both of you stop! Dad, Gabriel and I have a lot of things to work on and I am not jumping into anything quickly. Gabriel has every right to see his child. I am not stopping that. Besides Joy loves him. I was wrong to keep him from her this long.”
Balthazar was clearly not seeing his daughter's point of view.
“He's just going to hurt the two of you again. It seems that is his talent.”
Dean stepped in clearly having enough! He was tired of being privy to angel relations.
“I'm putting my two cents in. Balthazar, I get where you are coming from because I am concerned too but it is their decision. If you try to keep Y/n and Gabriel apart it's going to backfire on you.”
Dean turned to face Gabriel and yourself.
“You two are going to have to get your shit together and grow up that's all there is to it. You both run when the rough gets going and that has to stop! It isn't fair to Joy or anyone else that has to deal with you both. That is the lesson that Chuck and Amara are trying to drill into your head, Gabriel. Y/n, you know I care about you. You're a great friend and I can't believe that I am saying this but Gabriel has been miserable without you. I am not telling you to go fuck his brains out but listen to him. Asmodeus the asshat may be gone but there are other things that we are going to have to deal with. We can't go up against things like Lucifer and whatever else and expect to live the way that we are going.”
Dean was pleased to see that he had clearly struck a nerve with both of you. You had edged closer to Gabriel and was wrapping your hand around his.
“He's right. Things have to change.”
Meanwhile with Lucifer,
Lucifer stood in front of none other than Michael. His older brother sat behind a large oak desk with his hands crossed.
“Lucifer, whatever can I do for you? I must say that I am shocked that you have come to locate me.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes as he looked at his older brother. The guy left “bizarro world” and his kick-ass vessel to come to this world and be in fucking young John Winchester's vessel.
“Sheesh Michael, you got rid of the cool vessel for a Winchester?”
Michael smirked. The coldness in his eyes sparkled as he gave his younger brother a disapproving scowl.
“My choosing of vessels in my own business. Now like I asked what can I do for you?”
Lucifer shook his head.
“Actually I have a team work propitiation for you.”
Lucifer wanted to choke on his words. The last thing that he wanted to do was team up with Michael but he would need help getting his hands on their little niece. Michael looked intrigued as he sat up straighter.
“And that is? Why would I want to work with you?”
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.
“Aw, I don't know. I mean it's just a slight issue known as a half Nephilim/half archangel that has come into existence that could totally help us.”
Michael held up a hand.
“Pardon? Half Nephilim/half archangel? What?”
Lucifer nodded feeling a little more excited. The expression on Michael's face was enough to make Lucifer be more amused.
“Gabriel and a Nephilim shacked up and made a baby. I would go after them but poor little ole me is low on grace because of you. I know that you wouldn't want to get your hands dirty...”
Michael slammed his hands down the table.
“Gabriel knows better! You did too when you made a Nephilim and look what happened to you!”
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.
“Uh yeah, but I really would like to get our niece.”
Michael shook his head.
“The child has to die and so does her filthy half breed mother. Do not harm either of them. I have plans.”
Lucifer was quietly muttering that he should have just started looking himself as Michael again stood.
“What plans?”
Lucifer questioned. Maybe he was going to have to play double agent to finally get Michael killed off and get his hands on his niece.
“I am going to kill them in front of Gabriel and make him watch the light leave their eyes.”

Trust in Me Ch7
She could hear the waves crashing upon the stones below their house, the fresh smell of sea air touched her nose. Y/N was a little girl sat in her bed. The lights were dimmed, and the room was warm, Y/N looked around at her soft toys: one a grey wolf from her uncle Tony, one a raven from her father’s younger brother, Regin. They sat at the bottom of her bed, guarding her as she slept. Y/N felt the warmth of her mother as they sat together on the little girl’s bed.
“…and so the young maiden said goodnight to her ghosts, and danced back to her chambers to await another day.” Lia said, concluding the bedtime story.
“Goodnight sweet girl.” Lia got up and went to switch out the light.
 “But mama…” Y/N spoke.
Lia sighed but gave a knowing smirk, “Y/N you promised one more story and you’d go to sleep.”
“But I have questions.” Y/N said timidly.
Lia perched onto the end of her daughter’s bed, “Don’t you always. I will answer one, and then you must go to sleep.”
Y/N pulled down her duvet so she could sit up and talk, “Why is the young woman not afraid of the ghosts?”
Lia smiled, “There is nothing frightening about ghost’s sweet girl, they were people just like you and me. They have histories, families, homes, they should be allowed to visit every once in a while.”
Y/N smiled, “It’s nice that they visit.”
All of a sudden, the room went dark and Y/N was no longer a little girl, “I miss you.”
Lia smiled sadly at her daughter, as she opened her mouth to speak, Y/N woke up.
Y/N opened her eyes slowly, a single tear escaping when she realised it was only a memory. She didn’t move for a while, she tried to fix her eyes shut again in hopes she could return to her dream, but the tears stung too much to keep them closed for long.
Y/N didn’t have nightmares, not really. Occasionally she would remember the bloodshed on the steps leading up to her home, or the gaping wound in her father’s side as they laid him to rest on the bed; but they were not the memories that haunted her. No, her dreams always consisted of warm and loving memories, and in a way they hurt more. She would spend mere minutes reliving moments of bliss, then awaken to a world she feared. She was not ungrateful by any means, she loved her uncle and all he had done for her; she just found it hard sometimes, to acknowledge that she will never go back to the life she once lived.
Y/N looked to her nightstand where her clock read 3:12am. She looked around her room, spotting her grey wolf, and fluffy raven sat on the bookshelf across the room, still watching over her after all these years. She removed herself from the warmth of her blankets, snuck her feet into her fuzzy slippers and made her way quietly out of her room.
She made one cup of tea and one cup of coffee on her way to the lab on the first floor. She followed the sound of drilling and metal clanging, knowing it would lead her to her chosen destination.
And there she found him, Uncle Tony. He removed his safety goggles and gloves taking the coffee she handed him.
“Couldn’t sleep?” he asked, she shook her head in response.
“Me neither. Pepper thinks it’s my excessive caffeine intake.” He said, imitating Pepper’s voice.
“Not the nightmares?” Y/N inquired shyly.
Tony looked up at her with a tired smile, “Always the nightmares.” He admitted.
 Y/N nodded, “Need some help?”
Tony chuckled, “Sure, you can do the paperwork, you know I hate that part.”
They worked together, making idle conversation as they did so.
“So…Vision tells me Loki is settling in.” Tony said, he had been itching to bring up the topic of Loki but didn’t want to overwhelm her.
“He seems to be.” Y/N replied, not lifting her gaze from the charts in her hands.
Tony nodded, “Good…good…and you’re getting along with him…?”
Y/N decided to cut to the chase, “Subtlety is not your strong suit uncle, what is it you would like to say?” she said with a grin.
“Don’t look at me like that, I just want to make sure you’re being careful. He has a track record; we can’t just trust the guy because Thor’s given him a thumbs up. For all we know he could be pretending to be calm and collected, and when we least expect it, he’ll…” Tony was working himself up to a rant.
Y/N placed her hand over his, “Uncle Tony, please dont worry. I’m okay.”
Tony seemed soothed and decided to say no more in the subject. They kept working till dawn; when the sun came up Tony looked over to his niece. She had fallen asleep on a stack of papers, pen held loosely in her hand. He draped his fleece over her and let her sleep.
The avengers assembled for their monthly meeting in the conference room on the second floor. Sam was teasing Bucky about not understanding the order sizes at Starbucks.
“Surely just asking for a large will do!” Bucky said, clearly irritated.
“Man, large can range from a grande to a venti, you’ve got to be specific.” Sam teased.
 Bucky rolled his eyes.
Nat and Steve listened to Bruce explain a new theory, Steve nodded to mask his confusion on the subject.
Meanwhile, Clint moved over to Wanda and Vision’s side of the room when he saw Thor and Loki enter.
Last to arrive were the Stark clan, Pepper by Tony’s side and Y/N and Peter behind them.
Loki was surprised to see Y/N at the meeting. Since their library trip a couple days prior, he hadn’t seen much of her. He assumed his brother had something to do with it, perhaps she worried Loki regarded her in the same way now.
“Shall we begin the meeting?” Steve spoke up, gathering the attention of the room.
“Not so fast capsicle.” Tony interrupted, earning an eye roll from the captain. “I want everyone to drop what they’re doing tonight, we have plans.”
Half the room sighed while the other groaned.
“Tony, I don’t want to go to another party, I still have a headache from the last one.” Clint complained, rubbing his forehead.
“And if memory serves me right, last time you fell onto the piano in all your Iron Man glory, causing it to fall through the floor.” Nat pointed out, “You sure you’re ready for that again?”
“It’s not a party, so kindly pause your whining. It’s a movie night.” Tony explained, “Pizza and Netflix, who’s in?”
Everyone agreed, due to a mixture of wanting a cosy night in and relief they wouldn’t have to smell tequila around the tower for the next week.
Loki sat quietly, observing the band of heroes; they were in the midst of discussing which movie to watch, Peter voting for Harry Potter, Sam rooting for Die Hard.
Loki scanned all their faces, noting the happy and tranquil moment they were sharing; that is, until his eyes landed on Y/N. She didn’t look upset or distressed, she just seemed very focused. Loki could practically feel her overthinking from across the table.
He then noticed Pepper smile down at the young woman and hold her hand under the table. The action seemed to bring Y/N out of the thought she was currently having; she took a deep breath and began to listen to the debate going on.
Despite Loki noticing her discomfort, no one else in the room had picked up on it. The second Pepper had noticed, Y/N shook herself out of her reverie. This was another piece in the puzzle, she didn’t want others to worry for her. ‘Is that why she didn’t leave the tower?’ Loki wondered.
The team finally agreed on a movie and went their separate ways. Loki would have to let her know he did not agree with his brother.
Y/N sat in her room reading Wuthering Heights for seemingly the hundredth time, but her mind kept drifting to Loki. She was sure Thor must have told him by now, what would he think of her?
Y/N recalled the day Thor had worked out who her family was. His carefree posture and charming smile altered quickly, his lips forming a thin line and his posture stiffening. He was never outwardly rude to her, nor did he ignore her when she entered the room; but he certainly didn’t welcome her or encourage the idea of friendship between them. It was something that had irked Tony.
She hated the idea that Loki may look at her the same way. She liked being around Loki, she felt calm with him and that was rare for her.
The alarm on her phone distracted her from her thoughts. 7pm it flashed, movie time.
Y/N got up and threw on a hoodie, slipping on a pair of fuzzy socks and made her way out of her room.
She walked to the elevator which took her to the top floor of the tower where the cinema room was. The avenger’s cinema was huge and rivalled any Imax in the city; it took up the entire floor and had a popcorn station on standby, safe to say it was Peter’s favourite room.
The elevator doors pinged, and Y/N walked down the long corridor leading to the big screen. She stood to the side of the hallway, safely hidden in a little nook just off the right side of the doorway. She could see almost everyone handing out pizza boxes and laughing at something Wanda had said.
It was time for Y/N to do her little ritual.
Although she was reasonably comfortable with each avenger by now, big gatherings still intimidated her. She believed it had something to do with not knowing what each person was doing at any given time. Tony said she got that from her father.
So, before big gatherings like this, she would count and with each number she would name an avenger she could talk to if uncomfortable. There wasn’t an exact science to it, but it seemed to help.
“One, Tony.” She whispered, “Two, Pepper. Three, Peter. Four, Vision. Five, Bucky. Six…”
“Ranking your favourites?” She heard from behind her.
She jumped with a strangled yelp and turned.
“Loki, you startled me.” She said, catching her breath.
Loki smiled, “My apologies. Why are you hiding…and counting?” he asked.
Y/N blushed furiously, “It just helps…organising things…helps….” She muttered.
Loki nodded in understanding, “With the crowds?”
 She nodded.
“Perhaps I should give it a try.” Loki said, earning a shy smile from Y/N.
They stood there a little while in silence, “You’re not going in?” Y/N asked, though her eyes still didn’t meet his.
“I haven’t seen much of you these past few days.” Loki said, ignoring her question. “Have you been avoiding me?”
“No!” Y/N said a little too quickly, causing Loki to smile at her honesty. “I just thought you might be busy with your brother; I didn’t think you’d want me to bother you…”
“Because you’re a Tatum.” Loki said matter of factly.
Y/N paused, she looked up at him, scanning his face for any obvious signs of anger or annoyance. Surprisingly she found no judgement in his features.
She bowed her head, “I’m sorry.”
Loki grew sympathetic and grew angrier at his brother. “You needn’t apologise for being born.” He spoke with a chuckle.
Y/N was surprised by his reaction, “I thought you would have shared Thor’s opinion…”
Loki shook his head, “If we all based our opinions on what other’s think, we wouldn’t get very far, would we my dear?”
Y/N didn’t really know what to think of his relaxed manner and lack of judgement, but she was certainly grateful for it.
She gave Loki that winning smile, the one he always felt honoured for having earnt.
“Now for the matter at hand. Shall we join the others for ‘movie night’?” Loki asked, causing Y/N to giggle at the way he said movie night.
She nodded, “Okay, would you like to sit with me and Peter? His reactions to the movie are usually more entertaining than the actual movie.”
Loki chuckled, “How could I say no to that.”
They walked in together and made their way over to Peter who had already saved them two seats beside him.
To everyone’s surprise Thor walked over to the little group with a large bag of popcorn at hand and sat in the seat to Loki’s left.
Thor turned to his brother and Y/N and cleared his throat, gathering their attention. “Would you like some popcorn Y/N?” He asked, a little meekly, or as meekly as a God can.
Y/N was shocked at first but didn’t want to waste the opportunity to make good with the God of thunder.
She nodded, “Thank you.” She said sweetly, taking a few pieces of popcorn in her hand.
The lights slowly dimmed till the room was dark and the movie began to play on the big screen. It would appear Peter had won the debate as the famous Warner Brothers logo appeared before them.
Thor didn’t have to look at his brother to know he was grinning. “Stop it.” He whispered to Loki.
Loki chuckled quietly, “Well done…brother.” Loki whispered back.
 Thor smiled.

________
Meanwhile,
Lucifer sat in a small cafe with a bottle of wince in front of him. He was enjoying watching the drunken humans make total fools of themselves.
“Having fun?”
He looked up to see none other then Anael looking down at him. Lucifer gave him his best pouty smile.
“Awe did you miss me?”
Anael rolled her eyes before sitting down.
“Hardly, I am only here because I have news that could of some use to you.”
Lucifer put a hand on his heart acting like he was having a heart attack.
“Oh you are so hurtful!
Please tell me that you did because I am getting a little impatient and you know how me and impatience doesn't go well together.”
Anael focused her cat like gaze on the prince of darkness before speaking.
“No, regrettably I was unable to locate you child as you asked however, I do know that you have other family that we could use.”
Lucifer scowled before slouching down in his chair.
“I doubt whatever you have to say isn't going to make me happy. You party pooper.”
Anael rolled her eyes.
“You have a niece and I think she would be of some interest to you. The angels are really concerned about her.”
Lucifer's eyes widened.
“A niece huh? Well look at that some other angel has been bad too! Why should I care about some other nephilim when I have my own kid to worry about?”
Anael smiled.
“Because she is half nephilim and half archangel.”\
Gabriel had to look away from Molly. There was that disappointed expression that he was given so often. Maybe Loki was right? Maybe he was a failure? He had it all with Molly before; someone who loved him and actually believed in him. He had put Molly through more than anyone in a relationship should!
Molly meanwhile, was keeping a close watch on the archangel before her. His face looked almost hopeless! Even after everything that he had put her through she still felt pain when she saw that look in his eyes.
“What happened to your face?”
She asked softly. Gabriel’s head snapped up as he thought about the ass beating that Loki had given him.
“Had my ass kicked.”
He said with an embarrassed expression. Molly’s worries expression intensified.
“It’s alright sugar. It wasn’t the worst thing that has happened to me.”
Molly didn’t look convinced enough. She walked to Gabriel putting her hand on his cheek healing the bruise.
“Is your grace weak again?”
Gabriel gave her a nervous chuckle.
“Yea, peach. Everything about me is weak apparently.”
Gabriel immediately reached out taking Molly’s hands in his.
“It isn’t your fault so please don’t even think it. Molly I’ll sing like a canary if it fixes things between us. I’ll let you know everything you want to know. You want my life story I’ll tell you every grimy detail.”
Molly was clearly surprised! She expected Gabriel to put up a fight or do one of his cunning little jokes. Sitting down on the bed, she patted the place beside her.
“Whatever you want to tell me.”
She said softly. Curiosity was definitely getting the better of her! Gabriel nodded as he joined her on the bed.
30 minutes later, Molly sat beside Gabriel with her mouth hanging open. Her head was spinning with everything that Gabriel had just told her! For a few moments she had no idea what to say to him! From hearing about his wreck of a “childhood” to his decision to leave heaven, up to getting his ass kicked by Loki...all of it was hard to hear!
“Gabriel, I...”
He shook his head.
“You don't have to say anything. Hopefully you can see why I didn't want to go and spill my guts to you. What kind of girl in the right mind would want to be with a guy like me?”
Molly answered without thinking.
How could she said that he wasn't a failure? In his mind, he literally failed at everything he has ever done! He failed at being an archangel and he most definitely failed as a soulmate and father.
“Kinda hard for it not to be.”
Molly stood up fighting the urge to cuddle the archangel. He looked so hurt and vulnerable! She reached out letting her hand cup his face. Gabriel's golden eyes rolled up to her.
“Molly, you don't have to do this.”
Molly shook her head.
Molly smiled as she turned and walked into JoyAnna's room where she sat snoozing on Jack's lap. He looked up with a smile.
“I think she is tired.”
Jack stood up and placed the little girl in her mother's arms. Molly gave Jack a smile. She was pleased to see that he hadn't lost his kind demeanor.
“I'm glad to see you Jack.”
Jack looked overjoyed.
“Me too. We'll talk later in the morning when Joy wakes up.”
Molly gave his forearm a pat before turning and going back into her bedroom. Gabriel sat on the bed. He quickly looked to Molly as she put Joy in the middle of the bed.
“She will be out for a few hours.”
Molly said as she laid down as Gabriel turned on his side. He looked down at his daughter's little round face and that guilty feeling came right back! Gabriel had missed her birth and the majority of her first few years.
Looking back up at Molly's face Gabriel reached out intertwining their hands. To his surprise, Molly didn't pull away. Instead, she tightened her hold on his hand.
“Its going to be okay.”
She whispered softly. Gabriel half smiled. In their own ways, both were unsure whether that statement to be true or not. The most that they could do was hope for the best!
Later in the morning around 8, Joy woke up. She looked at both of her parents with a small smile before throwing a leg over Gabriel's side to get out of bed. Joy stopped moving when her father's eye snapped open.
“Where are you going?”
Gabriel questioned softly. JoyAnna pointed to the door.
“Going to find Jack. Mommy''s still sleeping?”
Dean jumped awake and looked down at she started to read.
The sound of fluttering wings made Dean look around to see none other then Balthazar. Joy immediately jumped off of Dean's lap and went to the angel holding her hands up. Balthazar reached down picking the child up before noticing Sam and Dean. He automatically frowned before giving them a nod and looking back to his grand daughter. Balthazar knew that he could get whatever he wanted from the child.
“Hello there sweet pea.
Balthazar's rage began to build at the mere mention of Gabriel being anywhere near his daughter and grand daughter.
“Love, where is your mum and dad?”
As if they were cued to do so, Molly and Gabriel stepped into the room. Molly stopped the moment that she saw her father. She turned to Gabriel seeing that frown on his face reappear.
Balthazar, meanwhile, put Joy down.
“Sweetheart, why don't you...”
Joy sighed,
“I know, go play! Sheesh I am missing everything.”
Once JoyAnna was safely out of earshot Balthazar focused his attention on Gabriel.
“What the bloody hell are you doing here? You left and should have stayed gone, Gabriel. You're made a giant mess out of things as it is.”
Gabriel smiled.
“I am here for my wife and child. I don't know what else it looks like.”
Balthazar frowned.
“You are just going to destroy things.”
Molly's eyes winded as she tried to get between Gabriel and her father.
If you try to keep Molly and Gabriel apart its going to backfire on you.”
Dean turned to face Molly and Gabriel,
“You two are going to have to get your shit together and grow up that's all there is too it. You both run when the rough gets going and that has to stop! It isn't fair to Joy or anyone else that has to deal with you both. That is the lesson that Chuck and Amara are trying to drill into your head, Gabriel. Molly, you know I care about you.
Dean was pleased to see that he had clearly struck a nerve with both Molly and Gabriel. Molly had edged closer to Gabriel and was wrapping her hand around his.
“He's right. Things have to change.”
Meanwhile with Lucifer,
Lucifer stood in front of none other then Michael. His older brother sat behind a large oak desk with his hands crossed.
“Lucifer, whatever can I do for you? I must say that I am shocked that you have came to locate me.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes as he looked at his older brother. The guy left “bizarreo world” and his kick ass vessel to come to this world and be in fucking young John Winchester's vessel.
“Sheesh Michael, you got rid of the cool vessel for a Winchester?”
Michael smirked. The coldness in his eyes sparkled as he gave his younger brother a disapproving scowl.
“My choosing of vessels in my own business. Now like I asked what can I do for you? I suspect will shall get to killing each other soon enough.”
Why would I want to to work with you?”
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.
“Aw I don't know. I mean its just a slight issue known as a half nephilim/half archangel that has come into existence that could totally help us.”
He knows that nephilim are forbidden then he goes and impregnates one! He's got to pay!”
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.
“Uh yeah but I really would like to get our niece.”
With the right molding, the child would be the perfect weapon for Lucifer!
“I am going to kill them in front of Gabriel and make him watch the light leave their eyes.”

______________________
“Nice to see you too Zoe.”
Zoe’s frowned hard.
“Not nice to see you Gabriel.”
Luna turned looking at Loki. His face was pale and eyes wide as he looked between Luna and Zoe.
“You haven’t told her the truth?!! You lying angelic asshole! You have lied to my niece to get her to love you?!!”
Gabriel golden eyes looked coldly at Zoe before flickering to Luna.
“Okay, what is going on here?”
Luna asked calmly. It was in this moment Gabriel wished that she would yell. The look of confusion and disappointment on her face was something that he couldn’t handle. For some reason he had lost the ability to talk as well. Every time he would think of something legitimately good to say it sounded lame. Zoe meanwhile, could talk just fine.
“Luna, you aren’t with some trickster. This is the archangel Gabriel who apparently hadn’t grown up one bit.”
Luna put her hand over her mouth. Zoe glared between the two of them.
“Yes sweetie that Gabriel.”
Sam, who had came into the room looked slightly concerned himself.
“Zoe I think you need to let them talk.”
Zoe shook her head as did Dean.
“He isn’t going anywhere with her.”
Dean said icily. Sam rolled his eyes before running a hand through his hair.
“You’re treating her just like you did when I was in love with Ruby.”
Dean looked even more disgusted.
“Apparently you two just make really bad relationship choices and need to remain single the rest of your lives”
Luna who had finally regained the sense to speak shook her head.
“Enough! What I do with my life is my business. You all are my family and I love each of you! But who are you all to tell me who I should and shouldn’t love? You’re relationships aren’t very orthodox themselves.”
Cas looked up from his shoes finally.
“We don’t lie to each other though.”
Zoe nodded.
“Twat waffle there has been lying to you for ages!”
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“That’s original. Did you come up with that yourself?”
Luna turned.
“Enough! I mean it. From all of you….stop acting like children! Gabriel we do need to talk. Come on.”
She reached out grabbing his hand pulling the archangel toward her car. Zoe was quickly walking behind them.
“NO! You two are not going off together!”
Sam sighed quickly walking forward wrapping his arms around the angel holding her back.
“He’ll bring her back. Calm down. You can’t tell her what to do forever.”
Zoe growled.
“Like hell I can!”
Sam gently shook her.
“Zoe listen to yourself! Let them talk this out! Gabriel, like it or not, is a good match for Luna. I get why you are pissed but you can’t order Luna around all of her life! Come inside and relax. When she gets home we will all sit down and talk like rational adults.”
Meanwhile,
Gabriel sat silently beside Luna as she sped down the dark Kansas road. Neither had said anything for a few moments. This was the most silent moment they had ever shared.
“Sugar, where are we going?”
Gabriel asked gently. Luna didn’t even advert her eyes from the road.
“What does it matter?”
Gabriel sighed.
“Getting in cars with mad girls is a bad idea.”
Luna pursed her pink lips.
“You lied to me.  Was all of this a lie?”
Gabriel shook his head looking down at his lap.
“No. I love you Luna.”
Luna didn’t say it back for once instead she was silent. She didn’t make any facial expression as she drove quietly. Gabriel sighed realizing he just might have fucked everything up beyond repair. He wanted to get out of the car and just disappear again. Luna would forget him soon enough and could find a better lover.
He hated everything about himself at the moment. Everything that was right was wrong. Just like Gabriel has envisioned all the good had came crashing down in a gigantic heap of destruction!
Gabriel tried to think of anything to get himself out of his head. The radio’s gentle hum didn’t help at all and the lyrics were like a kick in the balls…
You’re out of touch I’m out of time But I’m out of my head when you’re not around You’re out of touch I’m out of time But I’m out of my head when you’re not around
Luna’s hand wrapping around his pulled Gabriel from his thoughts. He looked down to see her tiny hand actually intertwined with his. It wasn’t a figment of his imagination.
“I love you too. I just want to truth. Why did you lie to me?”
Gabriel sighed.
“Various reasons. I have been hiding who I am for a very long time. I also didn’t want you to think I was with you because I wanted your mother. I wanted to you to see that I wanted you. If that meant me being someone else I was willing to do that. Damn I sound like some creeper.”
Luna chuckled at that.
“I can buy those reasons. I want to know what happened with my mother though. You owe me the truth.”
Gabriel nodded to a parking lot.
“Pull over baby.”
Luna pulled into the empty shopping mall parking lot. Shutting off the car she turned to face the archangel beside her. Gabriel took a breath before taking Luna’s hand back in his.
“I didn’t used to be the nicest of guys sugar. When I was paired with your mother the last thing I did was remain faithful. Rosalie and I just weren’t a good match. Friend wise we were fine. Husband and wife was a big hell no. She had enough of my behavior, which I don’t blame her on now and wanted the bond severed. I did it because I thought it’s what was best. I wanted her to be happy. I blame myself for a lot of what happened to her. Just because you’re not with someone anymore doesn’t mean that you stop caring. When I heard Raphael and Michael was again after her I begged your mother to take you and run. You were a toddler then that was the last time I saw you until a few months ago. I even tried to get Rose to let me keep the two of you and your tax accountant of a father safe. Luna, your mother was so damn stubborn. She said it wasn’t my responsibility anymore. I was so mad after that I just stopped talking to her. I ran…just like I am good at. 4 years later she was dead and like I said I haven’t stopped blaming myself. Zoe thinks I am some asshole that abandoned your mother. She doesn’t know the half of it. There was a lot that happened. There's a lot more that is hard to explain. I was also playing double agent with Lucifer. Zoe and the others don't know that. Your mother only found out when we ran into each other a few years after I left her. At this point she was married to your father. She understood everything after I explained it and said she would keep everything secret. Rosalie and I kept everything between us after our separation secret.  I don’t love her like I love you. I’ve never loved anyone like I love you Luna. Whether you believe that or not is on you. If you don’t want to see me again I get it.”
Gabriel looked away from Luna and stared out the window. Luna sat motionless a moment before undoing her seatbelt and climbing across onto Gabriel’s lap.
“You stubborn stubborn trickster of an archangel! I still want you!”
Gabriel’s golden eyes rolled to hers.
“Sugar I…”
Luna’s lips were crammed against his stopping Gabriel from continuing his sentence. This kiss was different. In ways it felt almost like almost felt like a first kiss that quickly escalated into a long hungry passion filled make out session. Luna’s fingers were tangled in Gabriel’s golden curls tugging. She was thankful to see that he triggers when it came to passion were still the same whether he was Loki or Gabriel.
“Gabriel, I need you.”
The archangel moaned as he pushed her skirt up enough to undo his jeans. He stopped looking at her carefully. If she were any other woman he would have been tearing into her.
“Are you sure you want that? I mean like now? Aren’t you going to ground me from sex or something and I have to be a miserable whinny bastard for a few days?”
Luna pressed a series of kisses to his jaw line giggling. Her fingers traced down his chest stopping as they came in contact with the tip of his now noticeable erection. Gabriel hissed as her fingers stroked over his length a few times.
“Yes I want it. You’ve explained what happened. There is no point in dragging this out. You said sorry this is where we have make up sex and go about our business.”
Gabriel chuckled as he snapped his fingers making her panties disappear.
“That’s my girl.”
He cooed before reaching down and leaning the seat back a slightly. Gabriel’s hands cupped her breasts pressing kisses to the exposed parts of her chest.
“This shirt has been teasing me since you opened that door. It will look better on the floor of the bedroom later.”
Luna pressed her hips harder into Gabriel’s.
“Don’t leave me tonight Gabriel.”
“I’m not leaving you again. I don’t care what your lovely family has to say either. They can get used to me or they can get over it. I could always just throw you over my shoulder and take you with me.”
Luna looked pleased with that as they went back to kissing. She whimpered going to situate herself on his lap so Gabriel could push inside instead she banged her head on the ceiling of the car.
“Ow!”
She whimpered holding her head as Gabriel pressed his hand to the top of her head making the pain go away. He leaned he seat back a little further trying to find some kind of leverage.
“Boy the movies make this look so easy. Good thing I am not some tall mother fucker or this would be really difficult!”
Luna chuckled as he tried to pull his tight Levi’s down taking extra care to not hurt her again in the process.
“I picked a hell of a day to wear tight jeans.”
Gabriel grumbled trying to pull his arm back carefully. He tugged a little harder this time however, his elbow went back causing the glass to crack. Both Gabriel and Luna sat motionless with wide eyes before bursting into fits of giggles.
“Well damn how are we going to explain that one? Sorry we were trying to fuck each other and this happened or bats man…a bat hit the window.”
Gabriel said sheepishly. Luna laughed hard pressing her face into his neck.
“Stop making me laugh. Neither one of us is going to get off at this rate. We’ll go with the bats.”
“Bats it is.”
Gabriel said softly. He took his cock in his hand jerking himself a few times to get back to the state he was in before.
“Now sugar?”
He asked with pouting puppy eyes. Luna nodded raising her hips again. This time she took care not to smack her head on the ceiling. She took Gabriel like a band-aid from tip to base in one motion. Gabriel moaned fighting the urge to yank her down to pound into her mercilessly. Instead, he gave her gently thrusts making sure not to break anymore windows or cause any damage in the process. Luna wrapped her arms around Gabriel’s neck. Her body clenched hearing him panting in her ear.
“I’ll give you a good fucking later. We can sound proof that room of yours and I’ll make you scream. Damn it sugar this is a little difficult. Only good part is I’m totally ball deep right now and can fuck you crazy deep.”
Luna gasped, knowing Gabriel was trying to make her come. The car sex was definitely more difficult than she had expected it to be.
“Luna…sugar…I can’t…”
Luna reached out biting down on his ear earning a low growl. Kissing down his neck she gently bit down as she tightened her body she felt Gabriel come hard. She knew his kinks and biting was one of his favorites. He didn’t care to walk around with love bites littering his neck and body.
She gasped when she felt Gabriel’s hand on her clit.
“Come for me sugar. I know you felt me come inside you. You’re all mine Luna. No one is going to touch you like I do. Come now…”
Luna cried out coming undone in his arms. They sat in a sweaty heap not ready to move for a few moments.
“So that was making love to an archangel?”
Luna asked with as smirk. She felt Gabriel smile against her shoulder.
“You haven’t seen anything yet sugar. You’ve had the trickster special but now its time for the archangel special. Come on baby. Let’s go get you some dinner or something.”
30 minutes later, Gabriel and Luna sat at a quiet diner.
“I have to say fucking in a car was almost a disaster. They made it look too easy in Titanic.”
Gabriel smirked giving her an eyebrow wiggle.
“I didn’t hear you complaining when you were crying my name sweet cheeks.”
Luna blushed looking down at their again intertwined hands. Gabriel was busy watching her face. He loved watching her blush. Gabriel was so lost in the moment of watching his lover he hadn’t heard the door in the diner open and close. He didn’t give a damn about any of the other people in the restaurant. Tonight his eyes were only on his princess.
The happy moment changed when Luna’s face went from happy to sheer horror.
“Gabriel….its him….the angel that killed my mom and dad.”
Gabriel’s golden eyes went wide before he resumed his cool composure. He turned slightly in the bench seeing none other than Raphael standing in the doorway. Gabriel quickly turned knowing his brother could sense him.
“Get under the table Luna. I’ll keep you safe. Don’t make a sound.”
Luna nodded with wide petrified as she slid down into the floor huddling her self beside Gabriel’s legs. She trembled as a pair of legs approached their table. It was like reliving the most awful night of her life when the fancy dress shoes stopped and faced her direction. Hearing his voice made her heart pound.
“Gabriel.”
She slightly jumped when she felt Gabriel’s hand soothingly rub her shoulder. From where she sat she could see his face clearly.
“Raphael.”
Gabriel kept his voice even as his older brother gave him a cold grimace.
“I didn’t know you were back in America. Looking for anything interesting?”
Gabriel shook his head using an illusion to keep Luna hidden. If Raphael looked under the table he would only see his brother’s feet.
“Nah…just enjoying my freedom. You should enjoy it sometime.”
Luna meanwhile, was taking deep even breaths. Gabriel’s voice sounded almost foreign to her. Raphael chuckled.
“Enjoy it while you can little brother. Soon you’ll be back in heaven taking your place where you are meant to be.”
Gabriel frowned.
“Beside your psycho ass? I’ll take a rain check on that.”
Raphael looked less than pleased with his little brother’s sassy comment.
“I’ll cash in on that soon Gabriel. Remember that Lucifer isn’t here to keep you safe anymore. If you see Luna it will be in your best interest to inform me of the girl’s whereabouts.”
Raphael was no fool. He knew that Gabriel and Luna were an item. The fiery look in his younger brother’s eyes told him everything that he needed to know.
“I’ll tell you nothing.”
Gabriel growled. Raphael raised an eyebrow as he turned to walk toward the door.
“We’ll see Gabriel. You aren’t the spoiled protected child that you used to be. Also it will be Michael and myself against you. Two against one isn’t a good number. See you soon brother.”
