The Rogue and Gambit Project: A New Beginning (X-Men #1-3)
Tumblr media
The true beginning of Rogue and Gambit's story really comes with the new and somewhat iconic era of X-Men. X-Men: The Animated Series drew its inspiration from the relaunch designs, and for someone who grew up with this era, it feels nostalgic as well as historic. Rogue looks and sounds like the character I grew up with. Gambit being crucial to the line up and no longer an afterthought feels pivotal. I feel like we've finally arrived.
And while I know this era isn't void of problems -- believe me, I know... I kind of enjoy this early Rogue and Gambit dynamic. It's fun and flirty and has a little bit of an edge to it. And the angst. So. Much. Delicious. Angst.
The funny part is... there really isn't a whole lot of it in these first few issues. Things don't really heat up until issue #4. Not only that, I'm gonna have to bring up Rogneto again... I'm so sorry, guys. Blame Chris Claremont.
Alright, let's dig in...
Tumblr media
X-Men #1
Rogue in her now iconic new uniform -- this is going to be a standard for quite awhile. Get ready to see this pose a lot - Jim Lee, and artists after him, really like to do the whole one leg up, one fist out thing. Anyway, despite the fact that I (shockingly) don't like that much yellow on her - she's so pretty. I've always loved this era's hair.
Anyway, you want plot details you say?? This is Chris Claremont's last hurrah on his initial, epic 17 year run with the X-Men. And of course you can expect two things -- space shenanigans and coming full circle with Magneto as the villain. The crux of it is about Magneto possibly being a threat, despite the fact that he wants to be left alone, and of course, the X-Men get sucked into the drama.
Tumblr media
X-Men #1
Gambit's redesign - which uses his initial costuming but man does he look so much better. He looks 'cool' in the way that all the X-Men look cool in this era. The dude can pull off the color fuchsia. That isn't easy to do. I do like, however, in color theory that the pinks and purples of Gambit goes well with the greens of Rogue's coloring. But more to the point - Gambit is pretty now, which is what we're all really here for. ;)
Anyway - because this is a relaunch, after our initial Magneto based prologue, we get a (re-)introduction to the entire team in one of my absolute favorite sequences of X-Men comics. The teams will eventually be divided into two groups; the Blue Team -- Cyclops, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Wolverine, Psylocke, and Jubilee and the Gold Team -- Storm, Jean Grey, Iceman, Angel, Forge, and Colossus, but for now, they're one happy family doing a classic danger room sequence as designed by Charles Xavier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
X-Men #1
The whole sequence is really pretty awesome, but it leads to one of my favorite comic book moments -- where Gambit just goes for it and kisses Jean. It's a fake, robot Jean, but it's a bold move. And leads to Cyclops wanting to drop a truck on him. It's such a classic moment and I love it.
Tumblr media
X-Men #1
Our first Rogue and Gambit panel happens right after Wolverine wins the whole training sequence (because of course he does). (Also - Claremont can't quite resist and we get a final 'bang, you dead' moment.) Meanwhile, Rogue and Gambit still haven't spoken to each other - but at least they know the other one exists. Progress, right?
Tumblr media
X-Men #1
I really need to take a moment and appreciate the fact that most of the time during this era, when Gambit isn't in his uniform, he's running around half naked.
Tumblr media
X-Men #1
Ug, alright, let's talk about Magneto again. This whole arc is about Magneto kind of having an existential crisis (which, you know, happens when they need to reset you to villain again). And, unfortunately, we'll get a few of these moments scattered throughout these issues of Rogue trying to talk sense and reason into him due to their 'spark' in the Savage Land. I get that someone should be a reasonable voice -- especially when the rest of the X-Men are attacking the guy before any kind of provocation. But I'm still rolling my eyes that it's Rogue. Notice he calls her 'child' during this? He'll do that throughout. Eesh.
Magneto claims that he has no beef with them and offers them all safe haven on his floating asteroid base -- Asteroid M. And guess who doesn't join him? That's right - Rogue at least has enough sense to stick with the family she knows and cares about over a possible, not really fling. Btw - I hadn't mentioned it back when I was talking about the Savage Land, but there was nothing to suggest Magneto can actually touch her. (I think that might be an Age of Apocalypse thing?)
Also, in case you think any of this sounds familiar - pretty sure X-Men '97 drew heavily from this arc for their Season 1.
Tumblr media
X-Men #1
The first time either of them mentions the other one, and it's Gambit being sassy about whether or not Rogue should be a considered a lady. I kind of love it, actually. And love that Beast is like -- oooh, you're playing with fire on that one.
Tumblr media
X-Men #2
They're getting more on panel togetherness! Granted it's group shots and they're taking down Magneto, but I'm taking all the scraps!
Tumblr media
X-Men #2
Alright, well as much as I'm not a fan of the Rogue/Magneto dynamic, I'm still going to be fair and talk about it. Because it is part of Rogue's development. The key thing here though is that Rogue isn't going to compromise her values and beliefs because she may feel something for Magneto. And this will continue to ring through always through the comics. Of course, how nice of Magneto to swat her away like an annoying fly. Romance for the ages, guys.
Tumblr media
X-Men #2
More on panel time! They're really going for all the group shots these days - probably to milk sales. But I mean, Rogue and Gambit look good just standing next to each other, so who am I to complain?
So, back to the plot... Magneto is getting pissy because the world governments are seeing him as a threat. He kidnaps Moira MacTaggart and berates her and blames her for all of his issues (because, you know, she messed with his genetics after he was de-aged, in an attempt to make him /not/ a villain). It was... a whole thing don't worry about it.
Anyway, he has Moira (somehow) brainwash the Blue Team into joining Magneto's side. Because they can't otherwise be convinced. Which, oh my gosh - what's with all the brainwashing lately?? Of course, this means it's Gold Team to the rescue...
Tumblr media
X-Men #3
I'm going to try to document every time they're on the same cover. Also, it isn't X-Men unless there's at least an X vs X brawl every other month.
Tumblr media
X-Men #3
Another group shot with Magneto in between them?? What can this mean??? Actually, nothing, I think it's just a coincidence. But - I really like the art here.
But.. you guys! YOU GUYS! We get our first real Romy moment in this issue! Granted - they're still brainwashed! But it's another first! Here we go...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
X-Men #3
So, they're all hanging out on Asteroid M, taking it easy because - apparently that's what you do when you're a brainwashed Magneto fan. I love that Cyclops is still in his full uniform while Gambit has managed to strip down to his undies. I'm sure we can all tell who is the real fun one of the group.
You know what I like about this exchange, though? Gambit was casually complementing her diving skills and Rogue is the one who decides to get flirty about it. Of course, Gambit's going to push it further - see how far she wants to really go, and that'll cause her to run -- a dynamic that we're going to see a ton of as we go through all of this early stuff.
But for all that Gambit's going to push - it's not completely unwarranted or completely out of nowhere. Yeah, he gets flirty with the ladies on principal. Yeah, he went for kissing (fake robot) Jean unprompted because he thought he could. I won't defend some of the ickier aspects of these comics.
But... I'm fascinated by the idea of - what if she could touch? Would it still be a game to him? Would she have let it continue? Would they just have had a little fling right off the bat? Are her powers what really pushes them to have a deeper relationship than what they might have had? Just all the thoughts I'm throwing out there.
I also like that, that little moment of humor, where she knocks him into the pool, is so genuine it shakes her out of her mind control.
I also like that Gambit's genuine concern for her stops his playfulness.
It's such a tease of some great stuff coming up, and I am here for it.
Tumblr media
X-Men #3
And that's really all we get guys. The Gold Team shows up to save the day but not before some X-Men fighting amongst each other. Magneto monologues for a while. Charles tries to get him to see reason. The people of Earth try to nuke Asteroid M and everyone gets outta there while Magneto decides to go down with the proverbial ship.
Tumblr media
X-Men #3
This is in the closing moments of the issue - and I'm putting it here because it is Rogue talking about Magneto again -- but kind of seeing reason and how their ideologies do not work. She's trying to get Xavier to see this, and it's funny that Xavier is having a very hard time trying to let his old 'friend' go. Rogue, however, is fine. Maybe there had been a small, romantic spark of being caught up in close quarters in a shared moment. But that was all it was.
There is more to a longer lasting romance than fleeting moments due to circumstances. ;)
The X-Men take off leaving Magneto and his real followers to their fates. Of course... we know that it's never the real end of Magneto. Asteroid M may blow up, but he'll be fine.
However, I'll take a moment say that it's a poetic ending. Chris Claremont closes it out with a sort of goodbye. His tenure on X-Men is now complete, and we've fully stepped into a bright, new era!
X-Men #4 is gonna bring it. Let's do it! ;)

Behen ab aapko apna manifestation routine spill karna padega kyunki
You 🧲 Venus men
Meanwhile me:
Me 🧲 underage boys (no I'm not a pedo. This just happens on its own I swear 🥲)
LMAOOOO 😭😭😭😭
fr it's crazy bc a Bharani stellium guy from college who I haven't spoken to in YEARS started messaging me recently 😭😭 I am fr a Venus man magnet
I also think I'm a very powerful manifestor ngl and i think I've been unconsciously doing it ever since I was a kid or something but here's my routine/tips:
1. Self concept
I'm sure y'all have heard of this already and there are a million people talking about this but this is kind of the beginning and end of manifestation
What is manifestation? It's creating your reality
How do you create your reality? With your mind, duh 🙄😜
I have always believed that I'm a 10/10 baddie, a complete and total catch, any man would die/kill to have me and I'm the bestest gf anyone could ever wish for and this has been my mindset since forever and guess what? 😌🤪That's exactly how I'm treated and the kind of experiences I have 🤪🤪 (sometimes to a crazy extent, one guy actually tried to kill himself when I rejected him 😳😳 so pls be very careful with this 😔)
I've always believed that I'll be adored, helped, taken care of and provided for no matter where I am. When someone tries to tell me about how hard things can be or how slim the odds are, I have to laugh like GIRLLLL ur making things hard for yourself and I'm not and will never be you 💅 I'm ME and things are ALWAYS easy for ME. that's just my mentality and attitude and NO ONE can tell me otherwise. i have had many crusty ass people tell me I'm delusional and guess what they're rotting rn and I'm not 😌💅
I've heard some people speak about life/love/career/finance etc in the most negative pessimistic way and they wonder why they have no friends, no boo, no money nothing GIRL UR THE PROBLEM 🤧🤧
why is my dating life so different from many women? why do I get princess treatment? it's because I BELIEVE this is what I deserve.
that means, rejecting anything BENEATH this. there will always be creeps, low effort men and assholes, it's up to you whether or not you want to put up with that. it's not that low value men never approach me, it's that I pay NO MIND to anybody who isn't worth my time 💅
others can sense your energy. it affects the way you carry yourself. you think you're being nice when you act low maintenance but you're actually repelling men bc they want to be with someone who is hard to get and hard to keep, bc they like the challenge. I was known throughout my college years for being the girl no one could have 💅 bc no crusty man could ever touch even the tip of my pinky nail and that exclusivity means that you have to be special enough for me to pick you and that makes the men compete 💅for you
BUT HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART:
by having this mentality you can attract many men for sure but there's no guarantee that they'll like you as a person once they get to know you
I have this self concept of everybody bending over backwards for me and dying to be with me but I am (and this is another personal belief) a very warm, kind, sweet person so I'd never take advantage of anyone's generosity or toy with people's feelings.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
because karma is real
You can manifest winning the lottery but you could get into a car accident two days later and never live a life of wealth
This is to say that life does not end with manifesting something. Our character, our virtue, how we treat others and our intentions ALL MATTER. You can manifest something amazing and then have a horrible time experiencing it. So it's always important to keep a clear heart 💛 if you want to enjoy the fruits of your labour/manifestation
I'll give you my grandpa for example
After my grandma died, he went and got married in less than a year and it really hurt my dad's feelings (my dad was like 25 when it happened tho) and my grandpa said that he really wanted company in his old age and it's hard to find a widow around his age from the same community so he jumped at the first one he found and thought it was fate lmao aka Dadu (paternal grandpa in Hindi) thought he manifested that baddie but GUESS WHAT, she dumped his ass a few years in and he was all alone in his old age with no one except my dad to take care of him.
So you can manifest marrying a baddie but how that marriage works out will all be dependent on your karma 🫶
2. Embodying your beliefs
Look at your lifestyle. You want people to give you princess treatment but do you live like a princess?
Maybe the thing standing in your way is money but let's start there then. Manifest money. India has 1 billion people , if you can get 10 people to pay you for a service you can still make 10k + every month for pocket money
Do what you gotta do to live the life you deserve and don't make excuses
You want princess treatment but you act like a broke scarcity minded kanjoosi girl ??? Not gonna work 😔
3. Have faith
This will help you detach and not obsess over outcomes or be desperate
Are queens ever desperate?? No 💅 neither should you be
Have blind faith (easy for me bc im delusional) , it gives you a sense of entitlement maybe but a healthy entitlement 😌🫶bc you know you got God on your side ✨
4. Persist
Don't change your mind , keep believing even if you don't see results yet.
It's like placing an order. It might be delayed but it WILL come
Happy manifesting ✨🫶💛
Hope you attract everything you've ever wanted

my sister and I work at the same job, but while my building is the quiet office next door, my sister is a cashier in the actual restaurant. Our coworkers always always always mention that we look the same and have similar mannerisms (which is true), but since I talk to less people than she does, it means they're all unaware that I'm an awful conversationalist. My sister isn't immune to social anxiety, we both experience the same type of fear talking to new people. Like there's this one cook, Willy, that she finds really intimidating that she doesn't like to talk to. But besides him, she's skilled at talking to people without embarrassing herself.
Gabby is very efficient when cashing people out— customers constantly tell her some variation of "you talk extremely fast" and she makes a jokey joke about her name, "They don't call me Gabby for nothing!" After my shift, I usually stand at the register to chat with her before walking home. And I just stand beside her, saying nothing and staring into space like a solemn cryptid until they walk away.
One of my sisters friends approached the register once to talk to us, and asked me, "So, what type of stuff are you doing over there?" Referring to the next door office.
And what I *should* have said was, "Repricing the menus for January." Because that is a well thought out response that generalizes what I've been working on. But what I actually said was, "Um..."
And Then we stood in silence for twenty whole seconds that felt more like years.
Sometimes, Gabby *leaves* me at the register when she gets a chance to help in other areas of the restaurant, which I hate because the only person behind the counter (ME) doesn't know how to work the computer. And as the line grows longer I just have to... stand there..
So today, I was scanning the room subtly waiting for my sister to return. She had walked into the kitchen, and was probably relieved when Willy wasn't in there. I knew Willy wasn't inside because he was standing at the far wall, across the room from me. I couldn't see his face well enough to really tell if he was watching me, but I wouldn't have cared much anyway.
In my opinion, I find him as nerve wracking as anybody else— honestly, I'm relieved by people who have his type of temperament. There's something about their hard to please, blunted, careless way of existing that I enjoy. People like him seem to think small talk is a waste, tell you exactly what they want by stating their expectations, and it's easier to gauge how they feel about you because they typically hate everyone. He and I haven't really spoken, and because my sister avoids him like a contagion we don't cross paths. So if he was looking at me, I wasn't worried about it.
The door beside me opened and one of the two people dining on the patio came through the door. Tall guy, military uniform— nice smile. He asked, "Can we get our check outside?"
I grinned back, "Sure, when the cashier gets back, I'll let her know."
"Wait," He paused, "You do work here, right? I just realized you could be anyone."
I reassured him that I did, in fact, work there— meanwhile glancing at the kitchen doors willing my sister to please come out and help me. Telepathy doesn't exist, but I had to hope.
Then I watched Willy turn around and walk through the double doors, straight through to the kitchen, and my heart sank.
My sister stepped out a second later.
Now that I think about it, I was probably glancing at him a lot. Maybe he assumed I was calling for help, and in a way I owe him for retrieving Gabby. However, it was him getting Gabby that was the issue. I just know she was shitting her pants when Willy opened the door to seek her out and tell her what I was up to.
I met her halfway and we walked back to the register together.
"Willy told me, 'a customer is talking to your sister.'" Her words were short, which was odd for someone called Gabby. "He doesn't know what for, but came and got me anyway."
"Yeah, some dude wants his check outside." I said, as if talking to customers was normal for me. Having an older sister who isn't that much older is strange because she knows I'm an adult, but I think in her brain I have the competence of a 12 year old. I'm currently 19.
But she sternly pointed to a chair, distinctly not by the register. Gabby said, "Sit there when I'm not here, so people don't think you're me."
I was so relieved that I wasn't even embarrassed that Willy saw everything. And Gabby seemed worried, but I know nothing I say or do behind the register will cost us either of our jobs, unless I start robbing it. anyway lolll she was probably so embarrassed rip gabby

Can we get an update on the time travel fic? How do you see possible chase-cameron interactions post break up?
Mutual avoidance, mostly, plus Chase doing his S6 development two years too early. And then he gets shot!
I'm growing increasingly unhappy with how I wrote the story so far and I don't know if I have the energy to rewrite or if I should just try to ignore it and press on. So in that light, here's a very rough version of my outline for anyone interested! Spoilers I guess!!
Next chapter: Cameron finally connects with Amber, but Amber basically blows her off because she can absolutely tell Cameron has Ulterior Motives, Cameron can't say I time traveled , it all goes really poorly… and the chapter ends with the news of the bus accident.
Cameron is able to identify Amber as missing/injured in the other hospital right away. Ultimately this makes no difference and Amber still dies. She is incredibly shaken by this; she really thought she could do this, fix everything just by force of will.
Ends up telling Kutner the truth about the time travel. He's like. Super into it. She doesn't tell him he's dead in her future, she tells him all about the Amber situation though and about Dibala (as a reason why she dumped Chase). (Kutner is like "wait, you're blaming him for something he won't do for two years?" and she's like… :| yes)
Meanwhile, Chase is retreating to his Safe Space, Diagnostics. He's the main victim of the butterfly effect, and Cameron isn't noticing. In the background there are little things. He's in diagnostics more. She sees him and 13 grabbing lunch. Cameron writes all this off.
She's trying to help House and Wilson repair their friendship because she feels like shit about the Amber thing, and befriending Kutner at the same time, because she cannot fail again. The latter goes great. The former goes terribly because House absolutely knows something is going on with Cameron but obviously is not going to guess time travel. Her meddling basically screws things up more.
When The Itch happens she is able to instantly diagnose the guy, since she was super involved in that case.
Last Resort happens. Chase has been knocked off his timeline; he gets taken hostage along with House and 13, and gets shot by the gunman. He's okay, but this triggers just a total despair event from Cameron; she wasn't paying attention to changes she caused, she doesn't know what she's doing, she keeps failing, this whole thing sucks. She likes Kutner but feels like she can't open up to him all the way because she hasn't told him you're due to die, she feels like she almost got Chase killed, just, total collapse.
Apologizes to Chase (who is like… wtf, we haven't spoken in months and this was not your fault). She ends up telling him the whole truth too and he's kind of into it and she's like listen I just need a friend right now?? Everything sucks??? How do I fix things???
Chase is like "you…………don't??? Stop obsessing over every goddamn detail and acting like you know best. I could have told you this months ago if you didn't dump me btw."
Cameron tells Kutner the truth. He's like oh, hmm, yeah, that checks out. IDK I don't feel like offing myself right now. I can keep you posted I guess?
That's basically the end of the story it's a metaphor for you can't control everything.
Flash forward to the day of House's funeral in the original timeline. Things are different. Cuddy is still around, she and House didn't date; she's grooming Foreman to take over for her (Cameron's "idea"). Kutner is alive! He and Park are besties. Going out???? Wilson still has cancer but it was caught earlier and chemo isn't going great but he probably has a couple years, not a couple months. They're all at, not House's funeral, but some other hospital event. Maybe Cameron and Chase are dating casually, but if so it's a New Relationship. Cameron finally tells House the truth and he tells her her fixing everything idea was stupid. She tells him about his funeral and he's like I bet I faked my death. The end.

Putting It In Perspective
Summary: A presentation has Two stumped until an event happens with Peter 1 that puts things in perspective ❤️
(Of course, it wouldn't be getting over writer's block on my page without whumpee Peter 1 ❤️ I put this poor kid through so much, but I just love getting to write the older two taking care of him ❤️ Enjoy guys ❤️)
Peter 2 stared at the computer in front of him. He hated making presentations. There was a reason he stuck with recalibrations and reports rather than standing awkwardly in front of a group of people judging what color shirt you chose to wear. However, Harry had personally asked him to speak about his and Otto's newest invention at the next Oscorp convention.
To which he could not say no.
The eldest spider groaned as he scrubbed his face. "Why do I do this to myself?"
His self loathing was interrupted by his cell phone. Two's tingle spiked when he saw Peter 1's face appear on the caller ID.
The eldest immediately answered. "Hello?"
"T-tobey?"
The panic in the youngest's voice mixed with his alias made Two's spidey sense spike even higher. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"She . . . She's gone," One whispered.
"Whose gone Pete?"
"The lady."
"What lady Pete?"
One sniffed. "There was a-a robbery and this lady . . . She was just passing by and she . . ."
Two felt his heart crack, he knew exactly what One was going through. "Where are you bud?"
"Mercy h-hospital. They won't let me l-leave without a-a guardian present."
Peter 2 was already out the door with two important things tucked under his arm. "Let them know I'm on the way okay? I'll be there soon."
"O-okay."
"Do you want me to stay on the phone with you?"
"No, I'll be okay."
"Are you sure?" Two opened the car door. "I can do two things at once."
A small wet chuckle answered the tease. "I'm not doubting you. I just don't think I can concentrate on two conversations right-right now."
"Okay." The eldest started his car. "If you need me before I get there, call me back, okay bud?"
"I will, see you soon."
With a click, One ended the conversation and Two made his way to the hospital. He hadn't asked the youngest if he had any injuries, but knowing the emotional stress he was under, he wouldn't get any answers until he got there anyway. Thankfully, Mercy was a short drive from Two's home so he soon found Peter 1 at the nurse's station inside. "Hey."
The youngest Peter immediately raced into his brother's arms. "Tobey!"
While not his favorite alias, the names allowed the boys to prevent any accidental slip ups about dimensions or Spidermen when in certain situations. Like right now with a male nurse coming to join them.
Peter 2 already had One in a hug so he quickly tugged down his shirt to hide the strip of red peeking out. "I gotcha bud. I'm here."
Meanwhile, the nurse stepped forward. "Your brother was a hero tonight Mr. Parker."
"I got bits and pieces over the phone. Mind filling in the rest---." Two quickly read his name tag. "Mr. Sparks."
Sparks nodded. "There was a robbery across the street from the library. A homeless woman---."
"Loraine."
The eldest turned to Peter 1.
"Her name is Loraine."
Sparks nodded again. "Loraine was walking past the shop being robbed and accidentally got hit. Your brother stayed with her until the police arrived."
Peter 2 immediately pulled One back. "Any injuries on you?"
The youngest shook his head.
Two turned to look at Nurse Sparks and relaxed at the added nod of affirmation. "I'm glad you're okay."
"What about Loraine?"
"You can't save them all Bug. I'm sorry it has to be that way."
"You did the best you could Tom." Nurse Sparks gave the youngest a reassuring smile. "Most wouldn't have stayed with her given the circumstances. You made sure she didn't die alone."
"Sh-she has a daughter in California. They haven't spoken in a few years but . . ."
"Did she give you an address or phone number?"
Peter 1 shook his head. "Just her name. I-I'm sorry, I didn't. . ."
"It's okay. We'll use the name to try and contact her."
Two smiled at his younger brother. He could tell the kid was a mess but he was still trying to make sure Loraine was taken care of. After Peter had given the nurse the name of Loraine's daughter and the police had all the information they needed, the mask fully came off.
One made it to the elevator before he slumped against Two.
Sensing it coming, Peter 2 wrapped an arm around him. "You okay?"
The youngest shook his head.
"You've been through a lot tonight Pete, but I'm proud of the way you handled that. Loraine is in good hands now."
One turned and buried his face in Two's shoulders.
"Like I said Bug, we can try, but we can't save them all."
The moment was interrupted by the ding of the elevator. Two led the youngest to the car and helped him inside. "Do you need anything? I brought some things with me in case you did."
One stayed quiet as Two reached into the back. He held out a small bear to youngest, staying quiet as One buried his face into the bear's head. In addition, Two pulled a blanket out of the back seat. It was a big checkered print one that swamped the youngest's small frame and made Two feel like he was in an oven when used, but One absolutely loved it.
"It's pretty cold out." Two layed the blanket in One's lap. "Need to warm up?"
"What's going to happen to her?"
"Well, the hospital will make sure she's taken care of and her daughter is called. Then they'll make sure she has a proper funeral."
"Will anyone go?"
"I'm sure her daughter and her family will come. And I'm sure Loraine's friends will come too."
One looked up at his brother.
"You'd have to take that up with the family Pete."
The youngest nodded as his attention turned back out the window.
In response, Two began the drive home again. It hurt to see Peter 1 so broken. The kid was so young and he got dropped the world's biggest gift of defending the city for people like Loraine. Apparently her death had affected him more than the eldest realized.
"If I die, would you come to my funeral?"
Two immediately pulled over. "What!"
"If I died, would you come to my funeral?"
"One are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
"Two."
"Bug, you know I would be there for you no matter what. I'd be shattered but I'd be there."
". . . Three too?"
"You know he would too Pete." The eldest squeezed One's shoulder. "But why do you ask?"
The youngest shrugged.
A light clicked on in Two's head. "Does this have something to do with Loraine?"
Tears began welling up in One's eyes.
"Peter---."
"Everyone forgot her Two. She's alone right now, she had no one . . . And now she might be forgotten cause she's---."
"Oh Bug." Peter 2 immediately pulled his younger brother into a hug.
A moment later, the dam of emotions broke as One sobbed into Two's shoulder.
For a while, the two stayed put while cars zoomed past in the background. One's tears quickly soaked Two's collar.
Once the sobs quieted to sniffles, the eldest readjusted so he could press his forehead to One's and look him in the eye. "I could never forget you Pete. You mean the absolute world to me. And I want to keep you around for as long as possible."
The youngest sniffed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay, if you have thoughts like that, I'm always here to listen and remind you that you are so loved. Nothing's going to change that."
One immediately jumped back into his brother's arms. "I love you so much."
"I love you too Bug. You going to be okay?"
A head nod made Two's shoulders relax.
"Need a minute?"
One nodded again.
"Let me know when you're ready."
It took a couple minutes but One eventually relaxed back into the passenger seat.
"Are you okay?"
The youngest nodded a third time as he wiped some stray tears off of his cheeks. "Thank you."
"Of course. Now, how about we head home?"
A final nod. "Okay."
With that confirmation, Peter 2 pulled back on to the road. The remainder of the journey only took a couple minutes longer, but by the time the eldest pulled into the driveway, One was almost asleep.
Two chuckled before gently shaking him fully awake. "Hey Pete?"
The youngest's head shot up.
"You awake?"
"Mh-hm," One mumbled as his eyes closed again.
Peter 2 squeezed his shoulder. "You sure?"
One's head thunked against the window. Between Spidermaning and the whole chaos that followed, the youngest was completely drained. Two remembered nights like those. Coming home to an empty apartment after loosing someone you tried to protect, it always made the event feel even worse as it echoed off of the empty space. The eldest knew he couldn't protect One from everything, but he would be there as soon as he could to help him through anything.
Peter 2 gently moved One's head off of the window so he could come around and open the door. Carefully, Two unbuckled the seat belt before wrapping him with the blanket.
Then, with a bit of effort, he lifted One into his arms. "My back will hate me for this later, but that's okay."
The eldest stepped inside the house and laid Peter 1 on the couch. After the events of tonight, he wasn't quite ready to let the youngest out of his sight. He made sure to remove One's socks and shoes before tucking the blanket securely around him. To testify to his exhaustion, the youngest never moved an inch even as Peter 2 sat by his head.
Two turned and there was his computer. "Now I'm back at square one."
As the youngest finally stirred, the eldest Peter smoothed down his hair. Honestly, after everything that had happened, that presentation didn't seem so daunting anymore. It was hard to freak out about being in front of a group of people when your younger brother unintentionally scared you to death.
If that call had been different, with Peter 1 in Loraine's place, Two hoped someone like One would do the same thing he had done for her. If it couldn't be him, he wished it would be someone kind enough to remind the youngest he wasn't dying alone.
As quickly as that thought appeared, the eldest shoved it out of his head again. One was here, he was alive, and he was safe. Entertaining what if scenarios just led to unnecessary anxiety and panic.
Two huffed out at a chuckle as picked back up his computer. "Like what I'm doing with this presentation."
A weight pressed against his leg. Two looked down to see One's head had shifted closer to him.
The eldest spider smiled. "Thanks Bug. You give me heart attacks a lot, but I couldn't do this without you."
And with that, Two typed away.

In Third Place...
Meeting The Cast
Tumblr media
Pairing: Chris Evans x GN!Reader, Avengers Cast x GN!Reader (Platonic)
Request: Hello! Could I please request a Chris Evans X Male Reader, where the MCU cast meet Chris' husband for the first time, Chris' husband is shy N stuff, trying to make a good impression. But turns out that the MCU is even more nervous and absolutely love him! They actually form a really strong bond and he's part of the family. He can (for sure) be seen on set, bringing Chris actual food. Omg! Imagine him making food for everyone on set, cause they saw what he brought Chris and were jealous XD so much Fluff!
Genre: Fluff
Author Note: You guys must hate too me, apologies for disappearing. I've just experiencing a creative block and I haven't been able to write anything for awhile and the fact that I'm in my exam week does not help. I just wanted to write something that I'll be satisfied with but it hasn't happened until now. Again, so sorry for making you wait so long, I love you all for your support and I hope you enjoy my first Headcanon, feel free to give notes because I would like to get better at writing these and writing more of them.
It all started on the set of the movie ‘Knives Out’ where Y/n was the lead wardrobe stylist and had the chance to meet all the cast members and more particularly, Chris Evans.
Their relationship went from business casual to something more personal. They went out more often and hung out at their houses until they started to develop feelings for each other.
The casual hang outs became dates and they went from being best friends to boyfriends. Their relationship continued for a year before Chris learned that he was utterly in love with Y/n prompting the idea to propose.
Y/n and Chris had officially been engaged and living together but their dream wedding was halted by the pandemic so they had a very short ceremony with only important family members. Y/n had officially taken Evans as a surname.
As things began to ease, in terms of the lockdown and protocols, Chris was able to return back to set and continue working on his movie, Avengers: Endgame. The cast was aware of Chris’ marriage and were insistent on meeting the person who made Captain America happy.
A dinner time conversation later, Y/n had agreed to come on to the set to meet the cast. They were a bit anxious but more excited than ever to meet the people Chris had always spoken about.
Meanwhile on set, “No Tom, you can’t wear your suit to meet Y/n.” Scarlett reprimanded as everyone was anxiously fixing themselves up for the arrival of Y/n Evans. “Maybe the original Avengers should introduce themselves first, they’re more likely to recognize us first?” RDJ offered but this only sparked arguments across the cast.
The arguments ceased when a whistle was heard and their attention was on Chris who had his arm wrapped around his partner and shaking his head at his fellow castmates. Y/n wore a sweet smile letting out a cough to cover the laughter that wanted to escape.
“You must be Y/n! Chris gushes about you all the time.” “He never stops.” Sebastian and Anthony said as they approached Chris’ partner bringing him into a friendly hug. This continued as the rest of the cast introduced themselves as jokes and laughter were shared, Chris was happy to see his two families coming together.
Y/n had visited the set more frequently, bringing all kinds of snacks and drinks, occasionally bringing homemade food and enough for the cast, mainly because they would get jealous and beg Chris to start sharing.
The Marvel fan base even knew Y/n, it all started when Lizzie took a selfie with them and posted on Instagram sooner or later, the entire cast tried to get as many selfies with Y/n as possible.
They had hang outs, movie nights, and shopping sprees. Y/n had been accepted by the entire cast as their Honorary Avenger.

REQUEST: "reader has a super strength/metal skeleton mutation because she was in the lab as Wolverine, then she and Warren get close at the school because they both have terrible pasts and they get together and help each other through and become known as some of the best X-men and they’re so good because they love each other so much..."
WARNINGS: mentions of violence
A/N: had to take some liberties with the request because I don't have enough X-Men knowledge to give it proper justice. I honestly don't really like how this came out and the horrible headache I currently have doesn't help, but I tried my best!
•••
When you first joined Charles Xaviers' school for mutants you were at your lowest point, the concept of happiness was something you never thought you'd ever be familiar with.
The day your parents found out about your mutation, they immediately kicked you out of the house. Well, your father did. When you left home, you mother was crying and pleading for your dad to be understanding, saying that it wasn't that bad and that it could've been a worst mutation. You could easily pass as a regular human being. But the man saw things differently. You were a monster, no longer worth of a roof to live under, no longer worth of love and protection. You hugged your mom goodbye and left without a word, knowing it was better not to start a fight.
You wandered in the streets for a little while, using your savings to buy yourself the minimum you needed to survive.
That was until you were caught and put in a cage to fight against Warren Worthington III. He was far stronger than you were and although you had no broken bones by the end of the fight, you were left with deep bruises all over your body.
You weren't made for fighting. Your mutation was nothing but strengthened bones, there was nothing special about it. You had never been trained to use it to your advantage, so you really weren't stronger than the average when it came to fighting. You just happened to have extremely strong bones. If anything, the burden was even more exhausting.
A few days following the events, when he was himself in search of a shelter, Warren found you almost dead on a poor excuse of a mattress, tears soaking your cheeks as you barely managed to breathe. Your limbs were barely responding, you felt like your body was weighing ten times its weight and your metal bones weren't helping. To say you were absolutely terrified when you saw him would be an understatement. He had showed no mercy during the fight, so when he tried to pick you up, you used the last of your strength to kick him as hard as you could, which earned you a string of curses from him. He was close to giving up on you, but your cries and whines of pain forced him to walk back to you when he was about to step out the door and disappear from your life forever.
The two of you stayed hidden in that small abandoned basement for a few months until Kurt eventually found you. You were in a better shape, but you were far from being completely recovered, especially not mentally. But although Warren hated the idea of having to share a place to live with someone (and he was constantly being a pain in the ass about it), he always made the effort to go out and look for food for the both of you and always made sure you were safe. You owed him everything.
And just like that, you were both under Charles Xavier's protection. Surprisingly, you and Warren parted ways as soon as you joined the School. You quickly fit in with everyone and had a close group of friends meanwhile Warren insisted on staying alone. He had his own dorm and never ate breakfast with everyone else. A few people had tried to approach him, but he wouldn't let anyone get close. You were dying to see him and talk to him again, but you weren't sure if the feeling was mutual.
"Have you tried talking to him?" Jean asks, picking into her plate before bringing the fork to her mouth.
"What?"
"Warren. You're thinking about him. Have you tried talking to him?" she repeats and you shrug.
"I tried the first couple of days."
"Why don't you try again? I'm sure he'd be happy to see you again."
"I don't know. He wasn't really fond of sharing a place to live, so I doubt he misses me so much." you chuckle.
"But you miss him."
"Yeah. Kind of." you chuckled while nodding before looking over your shoulder, discreetly looking at Warren. "He's a good guy, you know." you admit. "He doesn't give off the best vibes when you don't know him, but he's got a big heart."
--
Jean's pep talk about how you should try and get in touch with him again made you realize how much you actually missed him. So that night, you decided to sneak out of your dorm and pay him a visit.
Taking a deep breath you raised your hand, letting it hover over the door for a moment. Deciding that it was too late to change your mind you eventually let your hand hit the wooden surface, giving it three knocks.
No answer.
You tried again, more firmly this time.
"Piss off."
Your heart skipped a beat when you heard his voice. It'd been so long. You tried to suppress a smile as you came to the conclusion that he really hadn't changed since the last time you spoke. He really wasn't interested in having company.
"It's me, Warren." you tried, leaning your ear against the door to hear better, but all you heard after that was silence.
Defeated, you were ready to retire back to your room until you were stopped by the sound of the door unlocking and cracking open slowly.
"What do you want?"
You took a deep breath. Here goes nothing.
"I miss you, Warren. We haven't spoken in what feels like an eternity and I just miss it. Our conversations, everything. I know you probably don't feel the same way but our late night talks meant a lot to me, and I just want to know how you're doing or at least—"
"Come in." he interrupted you.
That night, the two of you stayed up until 4 in the morning, just catching up and getting to know each other more than you already did. He didn't want to admit it, but Warren had missed you deeply as well.
You came back the day after, and sneaking into each other's dorm at night eventually became a routine for the two of you.
Your friends had noticed how close you had become, and you even often stayed with Warren instead of going out with them. One night, he told you all about his scars and how he got them, and you did the same with yours. You told him all about your family, how they kicked you out after finding out about your mutation, and the conversation ended with you crying on his shoulder and him promising to never let anyone or anything hurt you again.
The two of you became inseparable, always hanging out together, training together and always supporting each other during the hardest times. When you struggled to find a purpose to your mutation and started saying hurtful things about yourself, Warren was always there to remind you that it made you special, that you are one of the strongest people he knows and that you'd eventually learn to use your mutation, which you did.
Two years later, you've been sent on multiple missions together and everyone knows you as two of the school's most powerful mutants. Everyone admires you and the bond you have between one another. The newest mutants look up to you, and you're both more than happy to help when they need training.
The healing from the fear, hurt and rejection that you both went through takes time, but as long as you have each other, you know that everything will be okay.
