haikyuu rewatch s01e01

i've been itching to rewatch the series lately and a few years ago i did something similar for miraculous ladybug where i wrote up like a stream of consciousness/commentary post and made a gifset for each episode and i wanna try to do it again for haikyuu?? we'll see if i stay committed or not lol—gifsets per ep probably a lot more likely to continue than commentaries tbh, these things are long and not thought out so,

anyway let's start with episode 1, who wants to take bets on how many times i get teary-eyed?

ughhhhh how did i not know IMMEDIATELY my first time watching what a fucking banger of a show this would be. this opening scene is sooo aah. the voice over with the sounds of the balls and shoes, the actual content of the 'a tall tall wall' monologue, and then the visuals of just hinatas shoes stepping up to the line and then 'it was a view i could never see on my own' and the rest of the teams shoes step in??? FUCK

holyyyyy and bc im obsessed i know who is who based on their shoes in that lineup and after thir 'onigaishimasu' and they run onto the court they all run in at different speeds?? and like tanaka goes quick and kageyama bounces on his toes and tsukki is all like unenthusiastic?? what the fuCK bro

its been literally 40 seconds and im in awe aaah

how long has it been since i watched season 1 omgg 😭😭😭

gOD the opening is so good, not just imagination but the visuals rrr the practicing shots and the animation on all the volleyball looks so great wowow

one of the less talked about of the many crimes of getting movies instead of a 5th season is definitely the loss of another amazing opening and ending

damn did i really never realize that karasuno of the little giant's time didnt JUST go to nationals but theyre playing on center court when hinata catches them on tv? meaning its either the semi finals or finals, damn lol

okay i checked and you literally can only see the little giant in the manga and none of the rest of the team so im calling it an oversight on the animation side lol (understandable, tbh when youre just making people up to fill in the shot, you arent thinking about jersey lore)

no one cares but my japanese is surprisingly better than when i first watched (at which time i knew nothing) and i can actually understand a few bits here and there without the subs

reading the occasional katakana in the background is fun too. mmmm i should try looking at og scans of the manga to see how the sound effects are intended to be read, ive heard the way furudate incorporates the characters into the action as the sound itself is really well done

man the set up for kageyama as like powerful early on is SO good, weve only seen him twice so far and both times it all above the king cape, which im pretty sure is also supposed to represent how hinata sees him which rrrr what a great way to set up their dynamic knowing everything that's to come. greatest opponent to greatest ally etc etc

also thinking about how this IS basically all hinatas POV (including the quote i just referenced) and what kageyamas POV of hinata is when he looks back on it all 👀

kageyama telling hinata he shouldnt talk big bc he isnt even physically ready (referencing tummy ache), and hinata right off the bat telling kageyama 'the six of us go all the way' and kageyama responds 'i will win every game' oooo yep they both got some things to learn from each otherr

seriously how is hinata like the friendliest person on the planet. his team is SO bad and all he cares about is that he's finally on the court, he's so positive and determined even when they're doing terribly and his friends dont know wtf is going on

the animation on hinatas slide hit after the toss missss aaaah, and kageyamas bangs like whipping in the wind before he reaches as far as he can aah god this whole sequence is so beautiful

he has every quality to be someone even better but—WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THESE PAST 3 YEARS?? 😭😭😭😭

karasuno senpai in the crowd!! related dumb question time, why isnt tanakas hair blond here? he should be a first year atm, and the beginning of the ep said this match is about 3 years and 3 months after little giants nationals (which is in january, although iirc the month changed sometime around those years so possibly it was in march during his time—hence why call 'spring tournament') but either way if hinata and kageyama are still middle school third years then tanaka should be a first year and thats when his hair was blonde. likely in universe answer i guess is just that this tournament is after the practice match where karasuno loses badly and gets made fun of which makes tanaka respect his senpai more and shave his head lol. which also, if hes here with them at this middle school tournament also makes sense with that so. question answered i guess

let me tell you i had relatively low expectations for haikyu my very first time. i just wanted something easy to watch while i ate my lunch during the day, and i thought it would just be a predictable underdog story where hinata gets revenge for middle school. and i wasnt against that, i was relatively entertained this whole episode, then it gets to the end and reveals that kageyama has to be his teammate and i was like OH this is gonna be GOOD good. immediately have me hope and reassurance that the show knew what it was doing and wasnt gonna just be typical cliches etc

fuck i wish i could watch again for the first time

Call You Mine - Peter Parker x Reader - Part 1

Summary:

After working out a schedule with Miles on Spider-man duties, Peter is going to give this professor thing a try. Of course that’s when he runs into you, the hard ass Shakespeare professor that has sworn off relationships after one heartbreak too many. But can you really keep telling yourself that all love ends in tragedy when you’ve got someone like Professor Parker smiling at you like that?

Closing the door to his office and leaning against it, Peter sighed. It had been a long first day of classes but he had loved every second of it. Smiling he looked around the little room that had his name on the door, it was small but not so small that it felt constricting. Several boxes were littered about the floor that he had yet to unpack, papers were scattered across the desk, and the whiteboard on the wall was already covered in a new formula he was working on for web fluid. 

It wasn’t much but it was his, Professor Parker, the newest faculty member at NYU. While he had never imagined having a job this normal, it felt right, something he knew he was good at and didn’t put anyone he cared about in danger. Stepping further in he shrugged off his blazer—throwing it on the small chair that lived in the corner—and rolled up the sleeves of his button-up before sitting on the edge of his desk to study the whiteboard.   

Peter hadn’t hung up the web-shooters, but now that Miles had a few years of being a hero under his belt he had insisted that Peter take the job when it was offered to him. And for once in his life, he let someone else step up and take some of the load, giving himself a chance at doing something he wanted. Teaching fresh-faced students physics wasn’t how he imagined his late 20’s to go but he could see himself sticking with it for a while. 

Just as he was about to start working on that formula again there was a knock at his door, opening before he could do so, he was met with the sight of a Y/H/C woman looking at him expectantly. 

“Parker, right?”

Blinking stupidly, he could only nod at the woman before him. He had absolutely no idea why she was here, and he certainly would have remembered piercing eyes like that at the faculty briefing. So she must work in a different department, or be a student, something he both doubted and hoped wasn’t true. 

Quickly glancing around the room, she let herself in without asking and started to dig through the messenger bag she had. Finding whatever she’d been looking for, she held a bundle of papers out to Peter and raised a brow as if to tell him not to waste her time. 

“You dropped these, I noticed on my way to the anthro department for my next class,” she said, turning to leave. 

Glancing at the papers Peter wanted to scream, it was a note from Aunt May from his first day of high school. She’d found it and given it to him today as it was an entirely new first day and was sentimental, but he didn’t think the line about being confident about his changing body applied as much now. 

God, I hope she didn’t read that, he thought, praying that that wasn’t going to be his first impression on this gorgeous woman. 

Finally finding his voice, Peter said, “Ah thanks, I’d have hated to have lost these. Ah, important formulas and all that.”

Pausing she glanced back at him, the wicked smirk on her face as she said, “Figured out the formula to navigating puberty with confidence have you, Parker? Might want to keep that to yourself or the students won’t let you hear the end of it.”

Oh, she definitely read it and Peter thanked all that was holy in the world that she didn’t look back as she left to see how red his face was. 

“Great, just great. Good one Peter, at least some things never change,” he muttered to himself as he put the papers safely in his desk drawer. 

Another knock at the door had him scrambling to look like he wasn’t embarrassed and flustered, as he wondered if it was possible to make a better second impression on her. 

Opening the door with as much grace as he could manage, Peter just kept his face from falling when he saw it was a student from one of his morning classes. 

Office hours, that’s right. Get it together Parker, he though. 

Sending the girl a smile he motioned her in, the back of his mind still stuck on the mystery of who the snarky Y/H/C was. 

Y/N POV

Snickering to myself at the look on that poor idiot’s face, I didn’t notice someone come up alongside me. 

“Professor Y/L/N?”

Not stopping, but glancing at the voice, I saw that it was one of my students. I nodded, waiting for her to go on. 

“Were you just in the new professor’s office? Ah, I’m in his intro to physics class,” she said, the start of a smile on her face. 

Matching her stride so I wasn’t going too fast, I said, “I was, he dropped some of his papers and I figured since I was going that way I would return them.”

More like I had found them and found the contents hilarious and knew it would have been a nightmare for him if a student found them first. If I hadn’t been in such a good mood I probably would have left them there, but the look of mortification on his face had made it well worth the time. 

Putting my attention back to the girl at my side, I asked, “Rosa, isn’t it? You’re in my Shakespeare class arent you?”

I didn’t always remember names very well but hers was going to be easy as Rosalind was my favorite Shakespeare character and I was teaching As You Like It this semester. If I could associate names with characters then I usually had a better shot of remembering.   

Beaming at me, she nodded, “Yeah, I’m really excited about the class. Both of them I mean, he seems so nice you know? And I can’t wait to get to Titus, I’ve never read it before.”

I decided right then and there I liked her, unashamedly I always had favorites every single semester and this one would be no different.  

Giving her a smile as we reached the end of the hall I said, “Hmm I doubt I’ll be seeing much of Professor Parker, but I hope you’re right. I look forward to seeing you in class tomorrow, don’t be late.”

I watched her dash off with a wave and shook my head. I didn’t imagine I’d see Parker again anytime soon, by the look of his office he was a mess waiting to happen. 

Besides I had no reason to see him again anyway, even if a nagging in the back of my head said I was wrong.

interesting that they focused on junhao for everybody. can understand he probably has the most different and struggle experience so probably more interesting for dramas sake lol im surprised they dont spend more time on shengen, considering his popularity. 

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA JUNHAO FREAKING OUT over the fact that they only learned the dance for 40 mins. LOL thats the level of tyger + kou cong + shengen, i can imagine the struggle of the yang guang nan hai group in comparison AHAHA i just imagine him running down the hall freaking out like HOW DID THEY LEARN THE DANCE IN JUST ONE CLASS WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE 

lollll “theyre all dachang boys” “theyre all zhang yixing’s students” HAHAHAH you know even though he is slightly struggling compared to the rest, he aint bad and theyre all taking it light hearted with laughter so seems like a good learning environment! and he’s confident he’ll get it LOL thats good! i think thats what makes him so amusing

im still disappointed they have YET to show zhan yu’s funny/strange personality and this wouldve been a great opportunity bc hes surrounded by friends he’s comfortable with!! like his friendship with kou cong! or akey and lin mo! but sigh...

wow the lyrics are so fitting for lin mo to scream LOL but also ay his vocals?! aw im glad they put in a little rap for shengen and akey! honestly was kinda hoping for more bc they havent had a proper stage together before and i feel like itd be awesome but also junhao and zhan yu vocalization at the end was on point!!

lol all the kids being like zhang pd’s words are so detailed and professional... sigh theyve been missing out until now 

im glad they really pointed out how each member of this team did well! they really all did a great job with each of their parts, and they each got a little part to shine, and when put together, it was a complete performance. im proud of them and happy for them!

aw.... i feel like we’ve been waiting so long to hear lin mo get complimented.... i feel like it’s been since qcyn namanana that we’ve been waiting for him to redeem himself and climb back up to the peak. ugh its been nearly a year and a half. im just so terrified of whats gonna happen next bc im way too skeptical at this point to expect this high to continue, esp with what happened after namanana last time......... but for now, im happy. relieved hes finally getting the recognition he deserves and im happy that hes happy. lol i was also half scared we were gonna get spirit of the knight-ed again with his pink hair (nightmare flashbacks to lin mo and changxi’s deletion from that perf) i dont think ill ever get over that :( i feel like as a lin mo stan, ive been trained to not keep my hopes up and to prepare for the worst bc hes the type of person who just always gets the short end of the stick, it feels like. 

aw the part when they go back to the waiting room and jin fan is waiting for them with an encouraging smile and the whole exchange of "帥的真的帥的" "哇~可以吧" "我沒想到" "那必須的" our leader did them proud :’) 

ugh the part where luo jie calls them and tells them he can’t come back........ heart breaking. i can see why lin ran and xikan would be really affected. lin ran has been luo jie’s go-to since he left and knowing how their usual friendship involves making fun of one another and jokingly complaining about each other, it hits hard when lin ran says he cried his eyes out. it hurts that they didnt get to share the stage again before he left. xikan may not have shared the stage with luo jie during ip, but hes known him since then and has been with him through both rounds here. it interesting bc i feel like the namanana perf was very light hearted on qcyn but i cant see that happening here, esp with their outfits? 

aw shiwei and chaowen taking charge to raise their spirits :’) 

lin ran’s voice fits so well with this song wow! i really like his lines! also lol i didnt know xikan would have abs but okay and tbh im always hesitant about dances with props bc it always is so easy to look messy..... like every slight difference in angle in the way you hold your arms is immediately magnified 

and like sxl’s fan is obviously broken and having performed fan dances myself i know that that’s like the most annoying thing to happen on stage, and can be really difficult to deal with, even tho it happens ALL THE TIME with those types of fans ugh :( 

i mean its super kind of them to leave luo jie’s space empty for him, but its kinda weird to have parts of the audio missing sadly :( and also chaowen’s voice did something weird in the middle there, like its sounds weirdly weak 

wait didnt yixing tell them to close the fan? but they didnt? 

xikan’s facial expressions are perfecttt, good for him! wish they gave more screen time to shiwei during shiwei’s lines lol... but also i cant help but hear lin mo’s voice during that part LOL ugh speaking of which i miss that team dynamic namanana team a on qcyn HAHAHAH hwx being a brat and fjj running around wild and lin mo giving up on them all just laughing like idiots for hours on end while bo yuan just judges them from a corner LOL i love the beginning of the wenxuan and lin mo friendship good times :’)  

HAHAH ENYU AGAIN WITH THE REALEST COMMENTS - i agree AHHAHAH i love these kids too but there was something off about this stage 

im surprised but also not surprised by what the judges are saying 

o didnt realize sxl was supposed to be center but i guess that explains the big puffy thing on his shoulder lol.......... agree with cx tho, even without his broken fan, i think the fans made them look worse bc it just looked messy 

well idk if we’re getting all the stages today but at least jin fan’s is also getting aired! TYGER HUG FOR JIN FAN YESS

jin fan teaching them dance? yes thank you for showing us he is a good dancer. oof jin fan’s just too nice :( hes trying to avoid conflict too much that it caused conflict smh......... lol oscar trying to talk to su er hes having such struggle i feel that bro LOL hes doing really well though, tbh being relatively young, hes really trying his best and is being reasonable.

some of those high notes were a bit questionable at the end but okay jin fan is really claiming that vocal + dance teacher role i see.... interesting 

but agree with yixing that he doesnt need to force himself to do high notes bc his voice is so nice regardless!! yay for oscar getting recognition! im still waiting for jin fan to do a cool dance performance sigh

AW THEIR HAHA VIDEOS ARE THE CUTEST THING I LOVE THESE KIDSSS so sad that so many of them are at risk of elimination :(  im glad these vocals made their own friend group! I hope itll be a memory they carry forward. they do all have shared experiences as vocals on this show.

Hi! Ummm I wanted to ask something, and it’s something I haven’t really ever verbalized (which is the reason I’m on anon for this). Lately, I’ve been questioning whether or not I’m on the ace spectrum. I’m definitely not fully ace, and definitely not aro. I’ve had plenty of romantic crushes before. But... I’ve never had sexual feelings for any of them. Or anyone for that matter. Although I look back and wonder if I did for just one moment have sexual feelings for a guy I liked for a year. (1/7)

(Does that make me demi?) I’m only fifteen, and I know hormones are something that are supposed to be huge in my current stage in life, and I’ve taken into account that maybe I’m just not old enough to have those feelings or fully process them. (Am I?) But... is that how it works? I do experience... I don’t know how to phrase this... being turned on, but it’s under very random certain circumstances, and lasts for a very short period of time. (2/7) 

Not only that, but it’s never strong enough for me to consider... acting on it. Also, it only happens maybe once every couple of months. I’ve done a lot of research, and the only labels that I can think of that could possibly describe me is Gray-Ace, or even demisexual (for that one time, because I got over the guy shortly afterwards, though we remain friends, and maybe I’ve never established a deep enough connection with someone I liked romantically to feel it). I know labels aren’t required, and many people prefer not to have a definitive one, but labels are something that I function well in. I like to know where I am and who I am and exactly how to describe it. But there’s all these thoughts nagging at me all the time. I am a cis, straight (heteroromantic at least), female. I live in a liberal town with liberal and accepting parents. I have friends who I know would support me. (4/7)   

And asexuality seems to be the easiest spectrum to come out as. (Though it’s absolutely not fair for me to say that. There’s a lot of acephobia that many people face and struggle with, and I feel awful even thinking that it’s easy.) I don’t want to feel like I’m an impostor or a wannabe in the LGBT community, and I don’t want to find out later, even years from now, that turns out I’m allosexual and I just didn’t know and everyone will think I lied. Firstly I’m touched you trusted me with this, even if you are on Anon, which is fine as this is clealry a big thing for you that you are trying to process and work out for yourself.

I’m going to try and break this up into sections to help me give the best response to you and I hope that even some of it will be useful for you.

So I’m going to do some definitions to make sure we’re defintely on the same page and clear up any confusion.

Asexual: “An asexual person (“ace”, for short) is simply someone who does not experience sexual attraction.  That’s all there is to it.  Aces can be any sex or gender or age or ethnic background or body type, can be rich or poor, can wear any clothing style, and can be any religion or political affiliation.” (From “What is asexuality”)

Aromantic: “An aromantic is a person who experiences little or no romantic attraction to others.” (Psychology Today)

Allosexual: “someone who experiences sexual attraction.” (The gay UK)

Demisexual: “A  demisexual is a person who does not experience sexual attraction unless they form a strong emotional connection with someone. It's more commonly seen in but by no means confined to romantic relationships. Nevertheless, this term does not mean that demisexuals have an incomplete or half-sexuality, nor does it mean that sexual attraction without emotional connection is required for a complete sexuality. In general, demisexuals are not sexually attracted to anyone of any gender; however, when a demisexual is emotionally connected to someone else (whether the feelings are romantic love or deep friendship), the demisexual experiences sexual attraction and desire, but only towards the specific partner or partners” (Seventeen)

Definitions done, from reading everything that you have said, I’d say that for you, your sexual orientation and romantic orientation would fall under different groups. From my understanding, you have romantic feelings for others, but no sexual attraction. You’ve said yiou might have felt a sexual attraction towards someone you’d had feelings for, dor about a year. I’m not here to say wether you actually did, or are still are sure and are assuming what you felt was sexual. I’m not you, I don’t know. My personal opinion is that your attraction could come under “Heteromantic demisexual” or “heterosexual asexual”.

Ultimately you still are 15, so you still have plenty of time to find someone you do have romantic feelings and eventually develop sexual feelings for. In that case you’d be a demisexual. If it doesn’t happen, you’d be an asexual. Whatever happens, you’d still be you and would still be winning at life.

What I’ve heard so many times, is that if you are questioning your sexuality, or at least some part of it, then there is a reason for that, and quite often you arent as allosexual, heterosexual or heteroromantic as you previously thought. But like I said you still have plenty of thime to work that out.

I’m glad that you have a supportive network around you, so when you do feel confident to come out with whatever your orientation is, those around you will still love and sccept you. And as far as what you think is the easiest thing to come out, well let me tell you a few things. Coming out, whatever it is, is hard. yes some may be more understtod that others, but it’s still hard. You’re still whatever sexuality you are, regardless of other people’s ignorance. If you identify as being asexual then you’re asexual and are part of the LGBTQ communuty and no one can tell you otherwise. If, after some more self-discovery and life experience you realise that it’s a label that no longer describes how you feel, then thats also fine. If other people disagree, then pity their prejudice and ignorance be damned.

On a final note: just because you are below the age of consent doesn’t mean that your orientation and feelings is any less valid. We don’t grow up with no sexual or romantic feelings, then wake up on our birthday when we can legally give consent, full of sexual and romantic feeling and knowing exactly what our orientation is. That’s not how things work. You can still be questioning and working it out before hand. And that’s OK!

just off the top of my head, all the prominent gay couples in undertale arent together in deltarune. hometown is dinky but for some reason undyne and alphys have never met. bratty and catty hate each other. rg01 and rg02 are just “bros” and rg01 is no longer bouncy and effusive.

deltarune mettaton has zero confidence in himself and it’s implied he doesn’t have a body here (probably for the same reason all the amalgamates are dead, because alphys is a teacher instead of a scientist and it’s unclear whether determination is even a Known Thing in deltarune).

the main character is almost definitely intended to be the deltarune world’s equivalent of frisk or chara (my guess being that they’re frisk and goner human from gaster’s intro was deltarune chara, based on some of the mc’s traits and that they show up as frisk’s reflection in that one dummied out waterfall room in undertale). but whichever, they’re not referred to by the name they use in undertale so there’s a very strong possibility that they’re still closeted and this is their deadname. (i don’t think anyone in hometown refers to them with third person pronouns at all in the demo so that’s hard to make a firm judgment call on; we’ll have to wait until we get more game before we know for sure - but there’s no constant and aggressive use of they to refer to them like there is with chara and frisk in ut).

they also seem really unhappy and depressed; my friend sam mentioned this on twitter but they’re super unemotive compared to frisk and chara in undertale and it’s hard to tell what they think and feel about things.

i definitely did not get all the dialogue in the end of chapter walkaround and there are a few places i did not poke my nose into to begin with, so there may be more. the main protag’s classmate noelle is apparently implied to be gay with a supportive dad, dress lion is still wearing a dress, and it’s hard to tell what’s going on with nicepants since they don’t talk about each other much, but thats so much of the prominent queer rep from undertale.

the conservative christian atmosphere of hometown and the recurring motifs of imprisonment/feeling trapped throughout chapter 1 don’t bode well either. gaster’s warning from the beginning of the game also refers to gameplay (since toby’s confirmed that deltarune will only have one route and one ending) but i feel like there’s a double meaning there in terms of the in-game setting. a lot of the characters seem pretty miserable in this world so i am worried

i trust toby almost absolutely though (and also idk about toby himself but a lot of the people who’ve helped him on this project already are gay and/or trans), so i’m sure he’s set the world of deltarune up like this for a reason and we’re going to get some kind of followthrough or context on it in the full game.

Pinkie [chapter 3]

When they walked up the stairs to their floor, Yoongi was getting ready to take out his trash. “Hey Jimin”. Jimin’s heart stopped, but he knew after their conversation earlier, he had to start calling him by his name.  

“Hey Yoongi” Jimin squinted at the way his voice sounded so insecure. They just passed each other and went their separate ways. When they made it into the room, Jimin let out a huge breath.

“That was crazy… did you see that?” Taehyung was pretty amused, to say the least. “You guys literally only said hi to each other..” Jimin threw a pillow Taehyung's way and got him right in the face.

“Better than nothing amiright?”

It's now Saturday afternoon and it's Jimin day off. He usually sleeps in as long as he can, or takes as many naps as he can. He’d be napping right now if it weren't for his loud neighbors. Most saturdays, Yoongi and his roomate seemingly have a few friends over and it's always pretty loud. He didn't mind much, unless he was trying to nap like now, but Jimin’s grateful this is a once a week type of thing and not every night, so he doesn't get mad, just decides he's done napping and climbs out of bed. It's better if he does something productive anyway. He barely made it to his dresser when there was a knock on his door. He quickly grabbed the closest sweatpants and ran to the door, assuming to find Taehyung. They always try to find a way to see each other on days off, but when Jimin opened his front door, shirtless and sporting some bad bed head, all he saw was “Yoongi hyung?” Yoongi tried his damn hardest not to let his eyes go where they wanted to go. It was LITERALLy painful keeping control of himself.

“Hey Jimin, morning, did I wake you?” he was dressed in light wash skinny jeans and a big black zip up hoodie and Jimin couldn't but stare. He looked so comfortable and simple but so fucking hot.

“No, not at all, what's up?”

“Well uh, I have a couple friends over right now and were just kind of doing karaoke and drinking and.. well do you wanna maybe come hang out?” Jimin was ecstatic at the invitation but laughed.

“You guys start drinking this early??” Yoongi smiled at the giggling Pinkie and pulled out his phone to check the time.

“I mean it's past 2 so..” Jimin laughed again “yeah I think I’d really like that” When silence fell between them again Jimin suddenly remembered he was shirtless and crossed his arms. “I'll be over in a second I need to change” he laughed awkwardly and didn't give a Yoongi a chance to respond and just shut his door.

“Okay breathe. Breathe. Call Tae. Tae will help.” He quickly dialed his best friends number and jogged in place nervously.

“TAE TAE TAE TAE TAE” Jimin yelled when he finally picked up. “Oh my god what??”

“HEINVITEDMEOVERTOHANGOUTWITHHISFRIENDSANDDRINKBEERSANDIMGOINGOVERWHATDOIDO?”

“Okay… uh. So you're gonna go hang out with him and his friends.. In his house?”

“YES. NOW HELP.”

“Okay, but calm down first. What are you going to wear??” Jimin was raking through his hangers trying to find something. “I don't know Tae I was kinda hoping you'd HELP ME” Taehyung laughed, “Wear your ripped skinny jeans and a black t-shirt, don't overthink it. You're only going over to hangout so just dress comfortably.” Jimin let out a breath.

“Thanks, I seriously can't think at all right now.”

“No problem just remember, be yourself and stay calm.” Tae always has the best advice. Jimin feel 200% better as he hangs up with Taehyung and yanks his clothes out of the closet. He laid it out all on the bed and stared at it thinking, ‘now how can I make this sexier?’ He suddenly remembered the thin leather choker Tae bought him for his birthday last year. He's never really had a reason to wear it until now. Once he was fully dressed he smiled at himself in the mirror and slipped his converse on. It took him way too long to knock on Yoongi's front door but once he did, it was opened almost immediately revealing a very drunk looking friend of his.

“Oh hey you're Jimin. Come on in Yoongi is peeing.” Jimin laughed at his words walked came in holding a bottle of wine that's been sitting in his cabinet for too long. The first thing he sees when he walks in is a big comfy couch with a hyper ass boy jumping on it singing Bboom bboom by Momoland at full volume. The man who opened the door for him quickly got his attention back though when he hears a “damn your ass IS fucking great” from behind him. His eyes widened and he turned to look at him but Yoongi was pulling Jimin by the arm.

“Don't listen to Hoseok. He's already an idiot but when he's drunk there's no telling what he'll say.” Jimin tried to pay attention to his words but all he could seem to focus on was the burning feeling he felt on his wrist where Yoongi was still holding him. He must've noticed Jimin absence because suddenly Yoongi let go “sorry”. Jimin silently gasped.

“What? No it's okay, sorry, I was just uh distracted by what your friend said.” Yoongi's eyes narrowed, “What did he say to you?”

“Oh? I thought you heard him, it's not a big deal.”

“I didn't hear, I only mentioned him having a big mouth because I half expected him to hit on you.” Jimin flushed up a little at that, not knowing if he should tell Yoongi that's exactly what he did. Yoongi caught on.

“Oh shit, he did. What did he say? Did he make you uncomfortable??” Jimin smiled at his protective tone but decided not to overthink it.

“He just said, “damn your ass IS fucking great” but it's fine, it's kinda nice to hear that my ass is great. And He's your friend so I'm sure he's harmless, right?”

“He said… what?” Yoongi looked more than irritated but swallowed it down. “No you're right, he's harmless, but he's also taken, so.” Jimin’s heart sank. Taken by who? You?

“OH cool no don't worry I wasn't gonna go after him, I was just caught off guard a little, I uh don't want your man I promise.” Yoongi felt a twist in his tummy. He told him that so he wouldn't try to get with him, not so he'd think Yoongi was his boyfriend. He wanted to explain that they in fact aren't dating but a very buzzed Bboom Bboom boy ran up to the pair with two beers.

"You haven't started drinking yet??? Come on come on they have Big Bang!!!” He yanked Jimin to the TV, despite not even knowing his name, and put on If You. Bboom Bboom boy was very tipsy already but Jimin wasn't so he took a second to chug his beer and set it aside. If he's about sing in front of his crush, he's doing it at least one beer in. The intro played through and Bboom Bboom boy started out very soft and emotional. Wasn't he just jumping around two minutes ago? Jimin sang his part and got so lost in it that he forgot Yoongi was watching him, four feet away on the couch. Some time when it wasn't his part, Hoseok handed him another beer, and before he knew it, the slow song was over and him and Bboom Bboom boy were jumping around screaming the lyrics to Cherry Bomb. Yoongi sat there with a grin plastered on his fact, he's glad Jimin gets along with his friends, and he's hoping that means he’ll come back soon. Hoseok was next to him on the couch, but was still too plastered to function. He just sat there laughing and dancing in his seat.

“Jesus christ he's hot” Hoseok spewed out, eyeing Jimin who's still dancing around and laughing and drinking. Yoongi knew he was drunk so instead of snapping like he wanted to he just took a deep breath and agreed.

“Yeah, he is.” In less than 20 minutes, Bboom Bboom boy who, at some point during the last song, introduced himself as joonie, was now on his back out of breath. Jimin just laughed and turned to look at Yoongi but only saw a passed out Hoseok with a beer that was ready to spill. Jimin found him in the kitchen, rummaging the fridge for a drink.

“Thank you for inviting me tonight, I'm having a lot of fun. Your friends are nice.” Jimin giggled and swooshed the beer in his hand around. Yoongi met him at the kitchen counter with two fresh beers. “I'm glad you're having fun” he sipped from his bottle and an awkward silence fell over them. They both had something to say but had no idea how to say it.

“Me and Hoseok arent-”

“I'm sorry im always-” They spoke at the same time, cutting eachother off. They both laughed at the situation, but did it again.

“I'm sorry-”

“You first-” They stayed quiet for a second and Jimin just cutely pointed at him to suggest he starts. The elder chuckled, ‘how much cuter can he get?’ he thought.

“I was just gonna say that Hoseok and I aren't together.. kinda seemed like you thought that earlier” he fiddled with the cold bottle in his hand. Jimin's heart swelled, ‘oh thank fucking god’ he thought, but he just says “OH sorry for assuming.. thats rude haha”

“What were you gonna say?” Jimin suddenly regretted speaking before, because now it’s his turn.

“Oh it's nothing I just wanted to apologize.. for always running away. You're not a scary guy, you're really nice..” Yoongi took a sip from his drink to give him the courage he was lacking.

“I forgive you.. but can I know why? If not because I'm scary then why? I mean.. it's been two years, Jimin.”

“I know, I know, and I'm sorry, I'm such a shitty neighbor I just-” he stopped talking to chug the rest of his beer.

“Listen, I'm not very confident okay? so when I see someone who I'm attracted to, I tend to take the fuck off instead of talk to them” Yoongi's face had changed at some point from a confused expression to one that Jimin couldn't figure out.

“Attracted to?” Jimin didn't bring his head up but just nodded.

“So… the reason you haven't talked to me for a full ass two years.. is because you're attracted to me??” Jimin took a deep breath. He really didn't wanna ruin this new friendship. He nodded again, and for a good 30 seconds, neither of them said a word. and apparently it was long enough for Hoseok to stumble into the kitchen and interrupt.

“GUYS namjoon passed out and I can't carry his heavy ass by myself please help me”

8 THINGS I LOVED IN FEBRUARY Ah, the shortest month of the year. February always feels like a trick somehow, as I miss those extra days. Its all in my head probably, but as my schedule for March is looking full up to the last week already, I cant help but think that its thanks to those missing days the month before. Last month, I talked about the time off I had to begin the year, which if you missed it, can be found back here. Of course, taking time off tends to mean that the weeks before and after are pretty full to preempt and play catch up. Such was the case (mostly) for me this month. Without further ado the eight things I loved in February. THE GYM: Okay, so, while this was on my list last month too, during February I have hit more of a stride with my workout routine. Ive been making it to the gym on average four times a week with an extra two days working out at home. The natural progression has meant I am overall feeling stronger again plus more body confident. Rather than just work on HIIT or strength training Ive been making sure to include more cardio focus and doing longer cardio. This is, in turn, helping me to break up my days usually spent at my desk (aka sitting too long). Plus Ive been mostly finding myself more exhausted and better able to sleep. THE BEAUTY CHEF COOKBOOK: Ive used the Beauty Chef Glow Powder for years. While I have just run out of it again, it always helps balance out my gut health. Last year I also had the pleasure of meeting Carla Oates, the beauty chef herself which prompted me to order her cookbook. Fast forward a few months where Id only cooked a couple of the recipes. Classic! This month, both Mario and I sat down to each read the intro and began to cook more from the book. Actually, Mario has made a lot of incredible meals during February and gotten more fermented things going in our kitchen. Its been so good for both of us to be on the same page in relation to the way we want to eat. Not just me trying to force feed him salads every day, or Mario force feed me carb or meat dishes. Coming to a balance and incorporating more biofermented foods is slowly making a big difference.

BEAUTY: I have SOOOO many new beauty products I am excited to share with you. I said last month Id just filmed a lengthy video going through them but I am so annoyed with the sound quality that I am going to have to re-film after I buy a directional mic. Next time I will break it up a bit more- either into skin /hair/makeup or simply Sephora and Mecca buys videos. Shorter is better! Off the top of my head, or in front of me on my desk, I am obsessed with the Jo Malone London Bronze Wood & Leather Cologne and the Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara from Tarte. Actually, and the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush. So good! READING: Im ultimately covering a bunch of the same topics here in my favourites as I did last month, but to be honest, most of the time I am slowly making my way through variations of key things that work for me. Reading is one of them. This month I read Wundersmith the second novel in the Nevermoor kids fantasy book series by Jessica Townsend. Last year I had my friend Chloe come to stay with us who gifted me a signed copy of the first book. Jessica is one of her oldest friends so I was excited to read it. While the series is too young for me, its been nice to escape into a fantasy book at the end of the night and not think about what I have to do the next day. Ive also been gifting the books to kids we know in the right age group. Now Im onto reading The Princess Bride at last after watching the movie again recently. I love it!

ARM PARTY At least, I think you still call it an arm party! What I am talking about is layering various gold bangles, bracelets, and chains. Ive just been lucky to get in two beautiful new additions (this one and this one) from my favourites at Astley Clarke. These arrived yesterday so I will shoot pics to share later this week. I just love having these layers as a little something extra, given I largely wear a pretty basic tee and jeans or tee and skirt outfits. BEADED BAGS Well, as you might have seen, I dedicated a whole blog post to my love of beaded bags, so check it out here. It had to make my February loves list! CHECK PRINTS I am still loving check prints, so there is really nothing new there. Yesterday I just ordered two new check print pieces from the Shopbop sale (my breakdown of the best of sale is up here now). Naturally, I cannot wait for them to arrive and get shooting some pics! Already I am planning how Ill style them for the upcoming seasons. Stay tuned. BEING ORGANISED Since Ive been home all month, it has felt so good to be back into a daily routine and being organised. It has meant I know what projects I am working on when, the deadlines, publishing dates and have easily scheduled around that. What does this mean overall? The more planned I am, the better I am able to create stories that arent all the same and ultimately can inspire you guys. And thats enough from me this month. I hope you all had a great February. To be completely honest I would say that you should have written and even recorded a MINIMUM of 30 songs before you even consider releasing anything. And honestly I would say that number should be as high as 100 songs. That sounds extreme but to be honest, it's really not. After you hit that marker (that you can accomplish in a matter of 6 months) you will have developed the following 1) Your own voice - and itll only grow more as you make more music 2) Your own sound that will also continue developing 3) the ability to write at least decent choruses Those skills I just mentioned are NECESSARY if you want to start promoting your music and gaining fans. And you know I am right. With that much practice under your belt, you can comfortably know that you are ready to release songs and spend time promoting it. If any of the songs were amazing in that first 100... feel free to release that! Or even re record it so it's even better. I know some people are going to say 'OMG 100 SONGS' and not even believe that is feasible or the right answer... but... how can you expect to start dropping songs after you have only written and recorded 15 or 20? and I mean FINISHED SONGS... You have to build your mic confidence, find your delivery, voice and style or you are going to sound super bland and just like everyone else with less than 100 songs under their belt. How many songs have I written? I have written over 5,000 songs. My style is polished many times over. This is why I've had record deals, I chart on iTunes and many other things. But all of this took YEARS. If I go back and listen to my music from when I was 15 recording myself in my grandmas basement... I laugh and wonder how I was ever that terrible. It's all about praacticing and growing everyday. You can reach 100 songs written and recorded in a matter of 6 months as I said before. There are exceptions to this rule and while your mom always told you that you were special, you probably arent in this case haha. No offense. I wasn't then either. People like Fetty Wap and Trinidad james were great examples of people who recorded their first project and BAM just blew up. At least it's told that they didn't have any other music prior. But you can also look at people like Future and hear how he sounded even 10 years ago and it's not even the same person. It's just... bland and unoriginal. Now he is polished. Even 2 Chainz took till his mid 30s to blow up. It's just that practice. Go write and record 100 songs. Chances are you don't even have a microphone yet and thats ok. That is when you're writing the songs. Get the $30 microphone I recommend and start recording those songs. You are going to be amazed when you realize how much you have grown after those 100 songs are recorded. The shortest month of the year was always going to feel like it went fast! But here are the eight things that I loved in Feb.

8 THINGS I LOVED IN FEBRUARY Ah, the shortest month of the year. February always feels like a trick somehow, as I miss those extra days. Its all in my head probably, but as my schedule for March is looking full up to the last week already, I cant help but think that its thanks to those missing days the month before. Last month, I talked about the time off I had to begin the year, which if you missed it, can be found back here. Of course, taking time off tends to mean that the weeks before and after are pretty full to preempt and play catch up. Such was the case (mostly) for me this month. Without further ado the eight things I loved in February. THE GYM: Okay, so, while this was on my list last month too, during February I have hit more of a stride with my workout routine. Ive been making it to the gym on average four times a week with an extra two days working out at home. The natural progression has meant I am overall feeling stronger again plus more body confident. Rather than just work on HIIT or strength training Ive been making sure to include more cardio focus and doing longer cardio. This is, in turn, helping me to break up my days usually spent at my desk (aka sitting too long). Plus Ive been mostly finding myself more exhausted and better able to sleep. THE BEAUTY CHEF COOKBOOK: Ive used the Beauty Chef Glow Powder for years. While I have just run out of it again, it always helps balance out my gut health. Last year I also had the pleasure of meeting Carla Oates, the beauty chef herself which prompted me to order her cookbook. Fast forward a few months where Id only cooked a couple of the recipes. Classic! This month, both Mario and I sat down to each read the intro and began to cook more from the book. Actually, Mario has made a lot of incredible meals during February and gotten more fermented things going in our kitchen. Its been so good for both of us to be on the same page in relation to the way we want to eat. Not just me trying to force feed him salads every day, or Mario force feed me carb or meat dishes. Coming to a balance and incorporating more biofermented foods is slowly making a big difference.

BEAUTY: I have SOOOO many new beauty products I am excited to share with you. I said last month Id just filmed a lengthy video going through them but I am so annoyed with the sound quality that I am going to have to re-film after I buy a directional mic. Next time I will break it up a bit more- either into skin /hair/makeup or simply Sephora and Mecca buys videos. Shorter is better! Off the top of my head, or in front of me on my desk, I am obsessed with the Jo Malone London Bronze Wood & Leather Cologne and the Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara from Tarte. Actually, and the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush. So good! READING: Im ultimately covering a bunch of the same topics here in my favourites as I did last month, but to be honest, most of the time I am slowly making my way through variations of key things that work for me. Reading is one of them. This month I read Wundersmith the second novel in the Nevermoor kids fantasy book series by Jessica Townsend. Last year I had my friend Chloe come to stay with us who gifted me a signed copy of the first book. Jessica is one of her oldest friends so I was excited to read it. While the series is too young for me, its been nice to escape into a fantasy book at the end of the night and not think about what I have to do the next day. Ive also been gifting the books to kids we know in the right age group. Now Im onto reading The Princess Bride at last after watching the movie again recently. I love it!

ARM PARTY At least, I think you still call it an arm party! What I am talking about is layering various gold bangles, bracelets, and chains. Ive just been lucky to get in two beautiful new additions (this one and this one) from my favourites at Astley Clarke. These arrived yesterday so I will shoot pics to share later this week. I just love having these layers as a little something extra, given I largely wear a pretty basic tee and jeans or tee and skirt outfits. BEADED BAGS Well, as you might have seen, I dedicated a whole blog post to my love of beaded bags, so check it out here. It had to make my February loves list! CHECK PRINTS I am still loving check prints, so there is really nothing new there. Yesterday I just ordered two new check print pieces from the Shopbop sale (my breakdown of the best of sale is up here now). Naturally, I cannot wait for them to arrive and get shooting some pics! Already I am planning how Ill style them for the upcoming seasons. Stay tuned. BEING ORGANISED Since Ive been home all month, it has felt so good to be back into a daily routine and being organised. It has meant I know what projects I am working on when, the deadlines, publishing dates and have easily scheduled around that. What does this mean overall? The more planned I am, the better I am able to create stories that arent all the same and ultimately can inspire you guys. And thats enough from me this month. I hope you all had a great February.
