hii I love all ur posts and writing !! (bare with me english not my native language but talking with people helps)
just wanted to ask what do u think hawks would be like when thinking abt getting married, some people think he isnt that type of person more like douchebag / playboy etc but hes a sweetheart deep down considering everything that happened to him (and "mean!hawks" too IDK hes prob just a annoying tease in bed) anyways i was thinking about it earlier and i was like wtf would he do, im sure he would do it in private but other than that idk because the commission, planning, what are ur thoughts? maybe he would be really anxious thinking about it but he knows ur the one? nobody has written about this like for real ( i THINK) if u or someone else has tell me PLEASE. i"ve been thinking about it for a while (a Lil embarrassed ngl)
just asking what u think in general what he would do bc like said havent seen anyone talk about it
at the start of the relationship, he's probably like nervous to even be in one but after like 3 months or something he probably wants to be with you forever and never let u go, it would be a bit hard for him to plan it all out because he barely has anyone to talk about it other than you unless he hired someone which no.. i think because he wants to make it special from his heart + the commission giving him any time to do anything let alone a honey moon and blah ya know?
other than that im stumped no idea
(u can ignore idm !! )
(MHA season 6 episode 3 spoilers ahead!)
People say Hawks is a playboy, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He's such a sweetheart. Self sacrificing.
I think he falls hard. It is extremely difficult for him to trust, given not only his childhood, but his time with the commission, too. With the amount of undercover dirty work they made him do, there's no doubt they taught him from very young to trust no one. The message from his parents and the commission is clear: he can only trust himself.
But... We know Keigo still feels; so, so strongly. Dabi mocks him for it, mocks him because he can't stop himself from being "distracted by his emotions". Even when he knows what he's "supposed" to do in the Twice scene, he hesitates because it fucking hurts, he still feels pangs of empathy. Despite all he was taught about shutting off your emotions, that's something he still can't do completely, even if he ultimately decides to do the opposite of what he feels.
So. It would take a very, very long time for him to truly open up to you, much less recognize his feelings as romantic (he goes through a stage of denial, because he never saw himself actually being "selfish" and allowing himself a real relationship). But once he has his mind made up, and really makes that decision to be yours, he will not give that up for anything. He follows through to the end.
I think he always wanted to get married. Not in the way his parents did; he never did have a good example. But the way people on TV did, the way they wax poetic about in songs he never understood. He is definitely the marriage, soulmates kind of guy. He craves that slow, that domesticity, to protect.
You make such a good point that he wouldn't know what to do because he has no one to talk about it with... But he knows he wants it to be special. He would fret and fuss so hard about it being perfect, trying to impress you and stressing over it so badly.
Until one day, you grab his hand and tell him, "lets get married, right here. Right now." It doesn't have to be official to be entirely authentic and in love and you. To the backdrop of the dim light of a summer evening, under the flourescent glow of the string lights adorning your back porch, you have your first dance to the tune of the creaky wood beneath your feet. You dance to the tune of a love song he finally understands.

Ugh, there's no end to it. Sorry, followers. ADHD hyperfixation says, and it won't stop until it's late at night and I'm crawling into bed, brain-tired, asking myself 'what the hell was the point of all that, Mari?' This time, we set our iron sights on Rook.
Relying on my reblogged post about pope Leliana, here's another problem. I think they kind of wanted another Hawke, but also wanted a blank slate. The Inquisitor received shrapnel for being 'bland', but you could still pretty effectively roleplay personality onto them with with the admittedly meagre dialogue options. The problem with Rook is that thy're ne ryba ne myaso. They're not a stand-alone character with existing personality + a lot of intense player-induced flavour. But they're not a complete blank slate with some vague history that leaves a lot up to the headcanon, either. Rook's just three flavours of friendly: nice-polite, nice-jokey, nice-stern. Rook is just... nice. Not burdened heavily by past connections of family and personal experiences, but not a complete blank slate like the Inquisitor, either. You can't really project onto Rook because there's just enough there for them to be a character separate from what you've largely personally created, but they're not interesting enough as a separate person for you to mould them to your vision. Some argue that the 'asshole option' and wanting it to be there just means that you, the player are an asshole and you want to be an asshole, and that means you're a bad person. But how about when you want your Rook to be nice, but have a breaking point? Where Rook's patience runs out and they just fucking snap? , but not too stern. It'd be nice to have an option to do that. And from what I gather from what I saw, the option simply isn't there for the most part.
Rook is built to be accommodating. Sacrificing existing personality and player-made personality for the sake of catering to solving the problems your companions.
It's a roleplaying game in name only. And you can do that thing well. Pathologic 2 does it well, it has a lot of flavour, though it doesn't affect the outcome. But the flavour matters. You can have a very distinct personality without it causing problems for the writers who have a certain story and outcome in mind. It starts to come across like Bioware's writers were either hamstrung by an inexperienced lead and/or financiers, or it's a crew comprised entirely of inexperienced people who don't know how to do good game writing, or the problem is someone who is experienced, but has a strong but incompetent vision, and is simply not willing to compromise. Still, one has to wonder what the brief by the investors was. Because right now it sounds like the brief was: "Offend no one. We need to cast a wide net and make some fucking moneeeey."
Looks like the fans are once more saddled with having to make their headcanon entirely from scratch, but this time with no support whatsoever from the in-game dialogue wheel. Which... honestly? It's my jam, when I'm not playing. But when I'm playing, I want to either play someone with established personality, or a total blank slate with plenty of room to build character in-game and support my headcanon that way. Not someone who's completely shackled somewhere in the middle, too afraid of saying anything wrong and thus reducing themselves to a single trait: "nice."
Where's Vivienne rearranging your castle furniture just to provoke you because she thinks you're a troglodyte who doesn't know their arsehole from their mouth based on your increasingly hostile interactions (if you go down that path. Her positive path is very rewarding).
Disclaimer: I could get the game and sit with Rook for several playthroughs, but I said it before and I say it again: a good game gives you most everything on the first playthrough. A poor game relies on subsequent playthroughs and a shitton of legwork by the player's own imagination to wring meaning out of this cold piece of smooth and featureless rock.

hi!!! could you maybe recommend me some books/sources of information on how jedi order works?? wookieepedia is a little overwhelming to me lmao, and i kinda wanted to plan a fic about crèche master anakin, but that requires a lot of information about how raising younglings and clans work, more than i know at the moment!! thank you!
Hi! I have a meta guide for everything we know about the Jedi in canon here: Taking a Closer Look at the Jedi Order in Star Wars Canon [Meta/Reference Guide] You’ll find the most in chapters 3 and 4, which is really only a handful of mentions about the creche (you can just ctrl+F for mentions, if you want)--the problem is that there really isn’t any book or source of information on how the Jedi Order works. This area of worldbuilding has really been done almost nothing with it, especially because there are two separate continuities, where you have Canon and you have Legends. Legends probably has more details, but it’s always been non-canon to George Lucas’ Star Wars and so it really just kind of did its own thing (which often led to some amazing stories! Legends is a continuity that has a ton of value and meaning to people! but it also often contradicted what the Jedi were actually like because much of it was created pre-Attack of the Clones, so there weren’t even the three main movies out yet, much less The Clone Wars being out), which means you’re absolutely free to use it, but be wary of how it’s not always consistent. There’s not really even a source of information on what the Force feels like or how it works, aside from the interviews George Lucas has given on these things, which likely informs how canon attempts to treat these things, as they’ve said they’re trying to stay true to his themes now (for example--Legends often had “grey Force users” being stable, but canon now works according to George’s statements of how that’s not possible, the dark side corrupts, you have to actively resist it or you’ll fall to it), because not much worldbuilding has been done on this aspect of them. Instead, you have to piece together what we get in bits and bobs in the canon, which is what I’ve done with the above. If you want, you can read stuff like the Jedi Apprentice books, but they’re pretty firmly not canon anymore (like they had an age limit of 13, which has been overwritten by canon, where Ahsoka was 14 when she became a Padawan, there was a youngling in Dooku: Jedi Lost who was 16 and indicated they’d have to wait another year, there was no indication of impending age limit, even in Legends there was a book that had a 17 year old initiate who would have to keep trying) and so, again, you’re pretty free to make up whatever you like about the way Jedi creches work. The few things we do know, as mentioned in the above link: - On arrival at the Temple, Initiates are sorted into clans to help them foster trust and kinship. [Dooku: Jedi Lost] - When a Jedi youngling becomes a Padawan, they seem to go from the creche to partnering with their Master, though, first there are conversations with the crechemaster and the Master at some point: Obi-Wan said, “You know, I never had problems with that as a youngling. Being independent, I mean. I broke rules right and left. They even called me rebellious. Probably the Masters were surprised anyone was willing to take me on as an apprentice.” In fact, Qui-Gon had been warned about this very thing. He’d long since assumed that the crèche masters’ concern was overcautious. [Master and Apprentice] - Yaddle spends at least some time in the creche, whether regularly or they have rotating ones, is anyone’s guess, but she was there when Qui-Gon was a youngling: “Only yesterday, Dooku had chosen [Qui-Gon] as Padawan. He’d spent his last night in the younglings’ crèche laughing with his friends, imagining all the adventures he would have, and practicing with his lightsaber in the sparring room until Master Yaddle ordered him to bed.“ [Master and Apprentice] - They teach the younglings about the Force there: “Qui-Gon whispered, “The dark side?” He knew it was a thing all beings carried within them, a part of himself he would learn to guard against—the crèche masters had taught him all that. But it still sounded a little like some kind of ghost or monster, a mysterious thing that would leap out from the shadows to get you when you weren’t looking.” [Master and Apprentice], which is a direct echo of George Lucas explaining the Force: “ Only way to overcome the dark side is through discipline. The dark side is pleasure, biological and temporary and easy to achieve. The light side is joy, everlasting and difficult to achieve.” (George Lucas, Clone Wars writers meeting) - These bonds do seem to be significant, to at the very least some degree, as Obi-Wan thinks of his “creche-mate” even when he’s 17, indicating that possibly they’re often lifelong friends: Obi-Wan’s crèche-mate Prie, for instance, had been partnered with a Master who was expert in two things [....] [Master and Apprentice] - The younglings in the creche seem to sleep near each other (I have a personal headcanon that they sleep in piles, all cuddled up with each other, because Space Psychics) because they seem to often gossip with each other night by candle droid: In Dooku: Jedi Lost there is a gossip story passed around about a possibly expelled Padawan long ago, one that keeps getting passed around by Initiates telling stories by glow lanterns at night, which indicates that it’s considered juicy enough/surprising enough that it doesn’t seem to happen much/if at all. - We do see Yoda and Tera Sinube teaching classes of younglings as well, so they’re probably familiar to almost every youngling who passes through the creches. Whether these classes are based on the younglings’ clans or if they’re randomized, we have no idea, though. I’m assuming that at least some of them were based on clans, because we see Yoda teaching Bear Clan in Attack of the Clones, which also gives us an indication of the size of them--probably somewhere between four and eight.
We also see in Dooku: Jedi Lost that Dooku was part of the Hawk-Bat Clan, which often did things together, that Dooku spent time with Thranta Clan, while Tera Sinube spent more time with Heliost Clan. It’s probably reasonable to assume that the Jedi younglings from “The Gathering” are a clan as well, showing that they do things together fairly often:
Though, we see two other younglings there and Ganodi doesn’t seem to be part of the group, assuming that that’s Gungi, Byph, Petro, and Zatt with her. But we do see Tera Sinube spending time with them here and again later, when they’re practicing with their lightsabers:
Though, again, we see more than just that one clan--unless the two other younglings are part of their clan and just weren’t on that specific trip to Ilum with the others? Entirely possible there, too. But that’s it, that’s all we know. Anything else isn’t canon/never really was and can be fun to use, but I often find it doesn’t really fit well with what we’re shown in The Clone Wars or with George’s themes for SW. I think it makes sense, though, that it works like a communal society, where there are crechemasters who look after the children in their little mini-family clans, helping shepherd them to their classes, who shoo the children to bed at night and take care of them, talk with them about the things they need to know, work to help ease the transition when they become apprentices, etc. (As a note: If you’re reading Wookieepedia, even on the canon pages, they’ll reference The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force sometimes, but be wary, as that book is very firmly not canon. Elements of it may be recanonized, but only what appears in books like Dooku: Jedi Lost, Master and Apprentice, Choose Your Destiny: Obi-Wan & Anakin, Age of the Republic: Obi-Wan Kenobi, etc. are actually canon.)

hello hello!! i'm here to send some requests 💖maybe some Bakugou, Tamaki and Hawks best friends to lovers headcanons? good luck with your blog !! 🥺👉🏼👈🏼
Thank you so much senpai @bnha-imagines-forall for the shout-out and for the interesting request too, to be honest I have no idea what this is..I don’t think that’s headcanons though’ I hope it’ll be okay nonetheless, don’t hesitate to tell me how I can improve! #toomuchpressure
Katsuki Bakugo
- Being friend with Bakugo is already a big thing, I mean, being upgraded from despise/indifference to tolerance isn’t something Katsuki grants to everyone, so you probably passed some ‘unconscious tests’ throught the early steps of the relationship.
- First of all, you intrigued him, pricked his curiosity whether because of your quirk or your personnality, you immediately caught his attention and even with that, he was definitely not the one who will approach you. He [im]patiently watched from afar, listened to other talk about you, studying your every moves from the corner of his eyes. [spoiler alert, he ended up doing the first move because you took too damn long to give him attention.]
- He had everyone recognitions for his strenght and abilities, but he couldn’t really understand why it bothered him that you never showed him yours, not that he needed it anyways.. but still.
- You ended up hanging with him because of your friendship with Kirishima and even if you he gave you the cold shoulder at first, he quickly accepted you and, to the surprise of his closest friend, undertook friendly actions so you’ll feel at ease around him.
- Bakugo being Bakugo, you often get into passionate and, sometimes, sterile debates with him ‘cause of how stuborn he’s, it usually ends in screams and shouts, or pillow thrown at each other. Whatever, it stimulates him, and more important, no matter what, you still sticked to his side supporting him even when he was in despicable states and you’re defintely worth of his trust and respect because of this.
- You challenge him and it’s what drag him into you, not necessarily on a fighting level, but on a daily basis of every single aspects in his life
- On the other hand, you assure a kind of balance, appeasing him when he can’t go down from a high frustration and he realized that as things progress his feelings evolved too.
- You are one of the only person he never pushed away (too harshly at least), the one he thinks of before falling asleep, the one he felt the ‘need’ to be with when he has something happy to share or when he’s feeling overwheelmed by negative emotions
- He’s an emotional constipated boy, but when he pulled all the pieces together and understood what those...unwanting feelings was, it angered him to no point. You never thought a grumpier Katsuki could exist? Say no more. He’s on edge and fuming at everything and everyone. Midoriya breathing next to him? He nearly blew his head off His pen stopped working? He exploded it like confettis.
- Once he was aware of it, he can’t get it out of his mind and it pissed him off, the only logical option he came up with? Avoiding you. And when you try to act as usual? Ignoring you.
- The fact was that the thing he could least bear? Himself. For feeling that way, for realizing it, for being distracted and affected by something so trivial, for hurting you.
- One night when he couldn’t fall asleep because of the situation, turning and tossing in his bed, he angrily thrown off his sheets on the ground, storming off of his room and frowning while taking the direction of yours with a determine step.
- He knocked [BANGED.] on your door, not giving a freakin’ care that it was past midnight, and when you opened it slightly panicked in your nightie, rubbing your eyes, he just blurted out nonsens and the only words you grabbed were «can’t stop thinking about you – it pisses me off – I miss you – in love with you» ponctuated with some ‘shit’ and‘fuckin’ here and there.
- When he finally shut his mouth, his ears turned bright pink, stupor painted his face and as he was about to leave the same way he arrived, you grabbed his wrist to prevent him to vanish and dropped a quick clumsy kiss on his lips.
- His brain freezed, his eyes wide opened, he didn’t know how to react, not even realizing he woke the entire floor with his shouts.
Tamaki Amajiki
- He’s one of most the complicated person to reach, whether physically or emotionally, so it would take YEARS to make him accept that 1 – He can Love someone 2- He deserves to be Loved too
- Tamaki is a fragile little cinnamon roll that shouldn’t be pushed too much, it’s like sitting into bushes and wait to take wild animals in pictures. Patience and delicacy are required along with silence and empathy.
- If you both knew each other since elementary school, he would develop the same bond and dependance he has with Mirio, a solide relationship based on trust. But he would burried deep down his feelings so you would never discover his love to you, neither do he.
- If you met at U.A, then he would accept your presence only because Mirio and Nejire included you without his opinion to the group. If they do so without really consulting him, it's because they both know you could get along and won’t go beyond the pale and impose yourself on him.
- Either one of the other, he would very slowly open up to you, studying you at first, and leaving each time you sat next to him. Then he would accept that you could speak to him, sometimes he would even answer and to finish, he would talk to you and ask for your advices.
- If you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to put your hand on his shoulder or brush his arm with yours after a few months!
- There’s something pretty reassuring about you, something that makes him feel at ease, almost confident when you’re around, the way you make all of those impossible things for him look so easy and smooth, and the bravery you show to accomplish little things in your life, even if it costs you a lot of courage to do so. He admires your convictions, the way you fight for what you love and what you believe in..
- He likes the fact you consider his feelings and apprehensions and don’t push him too much as much as you tend to help him find solution and don’t go and do the thing for him.
- You enlighten a path for him, guiding him throught the shadows of his emotional blinders, and help him make few steps in this horrific world. And he needs nothing more to fall in love with you.
- It was crystal clear for everyone to the point some people thought you were already dating, everyone except two persons, Him, and you.
- How he blushes each time you smile to him, how he searches you around when he losts sight of you, and how his own innocent smile gained his lips when you joke with him.
- Your two friends tried, REALLY hard to get you together, to help him realize and open up his feelings, to arranged some date between the two of you while hidding to spy in the background.. but nope.
- When Mirio couldn’t bear it anymore, he took him under his arm to have an adult talk and it rang in Tamaki’s head like a bell.
- Thinking about it, the warm in his chest, the goosebump on his arms and the way he, sometimes [often], wanted to keep you close and don’t let you go after an afternoon by your side.. Mirio’s words do made sens.. and it was freaking him out now.
- A trap later settled into one more arranged date, he couldn’t look at you in the eyes, nor focus on what you were saying. You were so… and he was.. No. You definitely deserved better and there were no chance..
- «Are you.. okay Tamaki?» His heart was about to exploded when you got him out of his thoughts with the sound of his name, eyes wondering on your face in panic, what where you saying ? Why does he have to act like this, why do you look so sad? He’s already a terrible friend, how could he be a good boyfriend to you
- «No, it’s- it’s okay, I should have know you're not returning my feelings, I’am sorry I misread the signs-I .. I hope we can still be friend?»
- Tamaki thought he was about to faint when he heard you, wobbly legs, buzzing ears, blurry vision, he couldn’t think straight, but the tiny bit of reason in his head push few words to escape from his lips before he black out from the pressure. «I love you.»
Hawks - Keigo Takami
- This cocky Bastard had won your heart for ages but you kept it to yourself because you knew it was just a game between the two of you.
- You had to admit he was a pretty cute guy when you both met and began to work together, but this smart ass deserved some slaps on the head from time to time and it was a charm that would drag you to him even more.
- You were like an elusive target to him, reproaching his nonchalance and laid back attitude, spending your time pushing him away and resisting to his teasing demeanors.
- Despite the constant lazyness he tends to wallow in, he took it as a challenge and he put a point of honor to make you abdicate.
- [Un]fortunately, after months of playing with your nerves, he got caught at his own game and he was the one to fall deeply for you.
- You also fell for him hard, and quick after you two became friends, it was some kind of funny fight at first, a pleasant banter between two grown persons, he was throwing flirty comments your way and you answered to him with a wink accompanied by snarky remarks.
- Beyond that, the two of you created a really healthy bonds, he knew in a sec’ when something’s wrong and dropped anything he was doing to cheer you up, leaving all of the challenge out.
- He would took you on the roof of his building to watch a reassuring movie outdoor, your favorite snacks prepared, even if he would never admit that he fly throught the whole city to find them.
- It surprised him how much he remembered useless things when it comes to you, how many sugar you put in your tea, how your mustard scarf look good on you and how the tint of vanilla in your perfurme get along perfectly with the natural one of your skin.
- He also noticed the changed in his feelings toward you, for example, he was annoyed to the tips of his wings when Best Jeanist proposed to accompanied you to chose a new jacket to welcome spring and you seemed utterly happy about it.
- Whether for you or for him, it was more and more difficult to accept the situation when you realized how the feelings had settled down and there was no way to back off now that the relationship always been like that.
- He tried to didn’t take it seriously, but he liked this..thing.. going on between you too much, could he call it an addiction? He didn’t like it but, Maybe. Anyway, he would take the risk to confess even if it means not coming out unscathed
- Being an organised and clever guy didn’t help him much because each of is attempts to wooed you failed as you took it as the natural behaviour he developped toward you.
- And God knows how he gave it his best, he made it clear to call it «A DATE», he offered you flowers carefuly picked with his feathers while you were both sitting in a meadow as the sun set, he was neatly dressed and if you squinted a lot, he even did something to his hair!
- You wished all of this could be true but you refused to believe in it, because the fall would only be harder, proof with how hard the pain already thundered in your chest.
- When he leaded you home that night, you felt as if you didn’t wanted him to go, it wasn’t the first time, but right now, you would have given everything you could to keep him by your side. You anxiously turned to him once you reached the door, no word were needeed for him to understand what was going on in your mind.
- He approached confidently, shielding you both with his wings, his gloved hand on your cheek before you could react and his mouth on yours in a chaste kiss. You felt a smile crept on his lips when you put enough pressure to return it and he pulled away slowly.
- You plunged into amused golden eyes when his breath tickled you in a whispered words «I won», he laughed against your lips, trying once more to steal a kiss as you pushed him away gently, not-so-nice words leaving your mouth.

Icarus
{Read more for length}
{Based on a headcanon of mine}
{ https://archiveofourown.org/works/20876414 AO3 link }
Icarus’ wings hurt. They hurt so badly. His coach had pushed him even further today, despite knowing what he must do now. He can feel his body dropping a bit every few meters before he forces himself up again, and he has to fight to force back the tears. His comm crackles to life and he winces slightly at the sudden noise in his ear. “Ica… alm… ere?” He only hears a few bits of the question and taps on the comm to – hopefully – fix it.
“Please repeat that.” He calmly whispers back despite the fear holding his heart hostage. His wings drop him a bit again and he quietly growls as he flies toward a roof to wait for a minute or two, to give his wings some rest. It wouldn’t do anyone any good if he suddenly dropped to the ground and couldn’t fly anymore. He flares his wings out to stretch them before he lets them relax, and he waits for an answer.
“Icarus.” The voice is a lot louder and clearer now. “Are you almost there? You need to hurry. You know the consequences if you fail.” There’s a slight growl and Icarus winces. Yeah, he knows the consequences. He can still feel the pain from the previous time. In a way, the Commission had been his saving grace. If he had stayed with his parents, he would probably be dead now. But… they were also way worse.
They pushed him too far and got mad if he couldn’t keep up. He was forced to run on a maximum of two hours of sleep on the nights they sent him out on patrol. They made him do underground hero work, arguably the most dangerous, purely because they didn’t want to wait before using him for their benefit. “I will arrive soon.” He doesn’t specify when soon is. He’ll be there when he’ll be there and they know it. They know he hates failing, and they know he’s willing to do nearly anything to prevent it.
“Don’t disappoint us.” There’s a click, and he is left alone with his thoughts again. He can feel the places where his wings connect to his back, a sure sign he was pushed too far. He isn’t supposed to feel it like that. It’s supposed to be like how his fingers or arms are connected to his body. It takes a huge effort to move his wings, which it shouldn’t. He sighs and with a wince stretches his wings before taking off again. Time to get some criminals arrested.
Once Icarus gets there, he hides up in the rafters, knowing people often forget to look up when searching for others. It also gives him a better view of the warehouse the drug deal will take place in, giving him a better chance at stopping the criminals with his feathers. And now to hope there wouldn’t be another underground hero. They always tried to stop him, see him, get to know who he is. They can’t figure out he’s just turned 12. They would try to stop him from going out again, and the Commission would ruin their career. He doesn’t want to be responsible for that... Not again.
The plan is simple. He waits until the drug deal begins, he knocks everyone out and gets out of there while the Commission calls an actual underground hero to take care of everything. There’s not too much of a risk for him that way. He just had to hope the criminals didn’t think of searching the entire place before the deal. It’s a couple minute wait before he notices some movement near the door, and he’s immediately on high alert. A couple guys walk in like they own the place, and even from his spot far above them Icarus can smell the stench of alcohol. He closes his eyes briefly as he fights against the flood of memories it causes.
When he opens them again, the men have moved to the middle of the warehouse. A smaller guy enters too, looking skittish. Probably the buyer. If he strains enough, he can just understand most of what they’re saying. His suspicions are soon proven, but he still can’t attack. The drugs need to be brought out first. Icarus is so focused on the people beneath him, he doesn’t notice the one behind him until it’s too late. His wings suddenly are a dead weight dragging him down as he is pulled close to a body, hand over his mouth to muffle his startled shout.
“What’s a kid like you doing here?” Is hissed in his ear, and he tenses upon recognizing the voice. Aizawa Shota. Eraserhead. One of the best underground heroes there is. “You can’t stay here. You can’t leave either because you would get caught and ruin the mission.” He manages to turn his head a bit and flinches at the red eyes glaring at him. The hero sighs as he blinks, hair falling from its gravity-defying position and his eyes going black, and Icarus can suddenly feel and move his wings again. “What am I going to do with you?”
Icarus doesn’t answer- not that he’d be able if he wanted to, with the hand still over his mouth. “You stay right here and don’t move, understood?” He meekly nods in response. He wasn’t planning to move anyway. His feathers would do everything for him. Eraserhead finally pulls his hand away and, with a last warning look, takes off to get to a good vantage point. When he looks down again, he sees it’s just in time. The drugs have been brought out. With a last glance at where he saw Eraserhead disappear, he sends his feathers out. They knock the dealers and buyer out within seconds before coming back to him, and he stands up from his crouched position with a grin.
Until something wraps around his legs while his wings turn into dead weight again, that is. He tumbles backwards and off the rafters. The only thing keeping him from falling to his death is the capture weapon Eraserhead had wrapped around him before using his quirk on him. He pouts as he bungles there, slowly spinning in circles as his wings pull on his back painfully. “Well, that’s just rude.” He complains to the cold air, crossing his arms stubbornly.
“You aren’t allowed to use your quirk.” Icarus has to admit the red eyes are rather fear-inspiring as Eraserhead stops right in front of him, glaring once again. “I mean, how old are you? 9? 10?” He has to bite his lip to keep from snapping in the man’s face, not wanting him to know his actual age. “I’m gonna take you to the police station, child. You should try to make this easier on yourself.” He scoffs as he narrows his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Eraserhead, but I’m afraid that won’t be happening.” He bluntly replies, which apparently is enough to get the hero to blink. It’s all Icarus needs to free himself using his quirk, easily landing on his feet. “If you know what’s good for you, you won’t meddle in my business. The Commission doesn’t take too kindly to that.” He rolls his eyes at the understatement of the century. He can barely stop his wings from trembling as he spreads them, the strain slowly getting worse. “In other words: don’t look into this and don’t tell anyone about this, or the Commission will show you the consequences.”
With a huff, he takes off through an open window and into the night sky. Fuck. That could’ve gone better. He just hopes Eraserhead actually listens to him. The career of an underground hero is fairly easily destroyed, often resulting in the dead of that particular hero. He doesn’t want that to happen to him. A lot of underground heroes are dicks, but Eraserhead... He’s something else. And Icarus doesn’t want to be responsible for his downfall.
Landing back at the facility nearly makes him drop flat on the ground, and he gets hit for it. “That is no behaviour for a future hero!” He gets scolded as he is dragged to the training room. “You got caught by Eraserhead. If he digs into this and we have to take him down, that will be on you. You should’ve been better, faster, stronger, sneakier.” He should’ve been, indeed. But he wasn’t. So, he’ll just need to get better. And faster. Stronger. ...Sneakier, too. Anything to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Anything to make sure... that no one else will be hurt because of him.
He raises his fists as he gets in a fighting stance, ready to spar like they want him to be. If he just makes sure he listens to them... If he makes sure they won’t have any reason to be disappointed in him or punish him, then he can be a real hero. He won’t be one as long as people get hurt because of him. A hero saves people, he doesn’t doom them. Not like Icarus does.
-----------------------------------------
Hawks wakes up with a start, feeling sweaty, gross, and most of all, scared. He thought he had put it all behind him. Well... Apparently not. He drags himself out of bed despite it being 3 am and ditches his wings to take a shower. He leans his head against the freezing tiles as he lets the water stream over him. What had brought that memory back? Was it the news he had seen earlier, where Eraserhead told the press that the kid who had been kidnapped would never be a villain?
Or maybe... He shakes that thought off. No way was it because he had a feeling something related to that would happen. Icarus had fallen into the ocean when Hawks had risen. The Commission had promised that. And even if they hadn’t... He is too recognisable now, as the Nr. 3 hero. He can’t be an underground hero anymore.
He nearly slips when his phone starts ringing, and he can only be bothered to turn off the shower before walking back to his bedroom, not even wrapping a towel around himself, tracking water through his apartment. “Yeah, Hawks here.” He greets, his voice still rough. The response he gets near immediately makes him freeze. Fuck. The Commission wanting to meet him is always bad news. He confirms that he’ll be there and ends the call before they do. A small show of rebellion in the early morning.
With a sigh he looks at the time and, upon seeing it slowly nearing 4, decides to do his morning stretches. What’s wrong with some extra time to prepare before his patrol this day?
