Duviri in-game is very detached from the main plot aside from introducing the Drifter/The Paradox (tm), which is why in my own personal lore I am making it the secret Most Important Thing that Kick-starts Everything.

Well, not everything-everything but it was meeting the Drifters that gave Albrecht the idea to build the Vessels and find the Chosen Operator, so it started the Great Crusade which eventually tangled the Virisquad with the Cavia and Loid which in turn means they end up meeting Albrecht again but in different circumstances and now they are part of his Grand Plan.

On a side note - how cliche or contrived would it be to say "Wally was subtly/indirectly influencing certain characters to cross paths as a way for their strands of Khra to intertwine thus bringing both Albrecht and the Tenno who made a deal with him closer so Wally could reclaim his lost body and take over all timelines"? asking for a friend

#viriverse #me: albrecht being a mastermind schemer is a lame plot point #also me: anyways he was a mastermind schemer #except not really #IT WAS WALLY THE WHOLE TIME #tho its more of an inception scenario #where wally plants the seeds of ideas #then sits back and waits for people to actually act on them #but in the end all roads lead to wally #because albrecht and the tenno need to break /free/ from wally #as long as you fight him you are running into his arms #but you must face wally in a different way to truly defeat him #to face wally is to face yourself #and only by overcoming yourself do you overcome wally #thanks for coming to my ted talk #(crumples)
