Beliaz is trying to find himself
"Oh shit my homie is here! What is UP my li'l man?" Beliaz asked, doing some weird signs with his hands. Were they... magic signs? Nothing really seemed to be happening... Well, except to Beliaz's speech.
"Are... you okay?" Astra asked uncertainly from Snowe's side. She and Erio had come with him on this demonic excursion, and were just as bewildered as he was by Beliaz's behavior.
"Fo' sure, li'l lady! Fo' sure. Comm'on, welcome to my crib!" Before he could step aside, a soggy tea bag hit him in the cheek. He turned to face the tea bagger, face filled with betrayal.
"This is my house. And quit talking like that, you're giving me a headache." Soria took a sip of her tea  before raising a hand to wave at her brother and his humans.
"Hey, sorry about the idiot. He found some of mother's old poetry and he... enjoyed it a bit too much."
Snowe wanted to ask what Soria meant by Zilia's old poetry, but... He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to know.
"Huh, that explains some of the weird phrases that pop into my head sometimes."
Snowe slowly turned his head to look at Erio. What.

Gambling [Prologue]
Tumblr media
Mafia!AU
Pairing: Xiumin x Reader
Warnings: Language, violence, sexual situations
Summary: After his ruined wedding, Kim Minseok puts all his time into his mafia to distract from the heartache. That’s when he finds himself in a deal with you. The deal is simple: whoever falls in love first, loses.
Prologue│Chapter 1│Chapter 2│Chapter 3│Chapter 4│Chapter 5│ Chapter 6│Chapter 7│Chapter 8│Epilogue
Kim Minseok taps his finger against his desk as he scrolls through the spreadsheet that contains all of EXO’s financial information.
His curser stills on a blank spot within the numbers and names. Lotteria owes EXO a total of…
He sighs, leaning back in his chair as he mulls over the number, counting the zeroes. It’s quite a large amount of money that should be repaid as quickly as possible. He checks the date that it was added onto the spreadsheet, dating back almost twenty years ago.
Twenty years…Minseok laces his fingers together, closing his eyes. When father was still alive.
Since he had no knowledge of this debt, it’s obvious he wasn’t the mafia’s leader when it was made. Which complicates the situation tenfold since he knows close to zero details, not to mention the other party being Lotteria…
Minseok massages his temples, feeling a headache coming. It’s been so long since he last engaged with Lotteria, the second strongest mafia in the area. It’s no doubt they are great enemies, with Lotteria constantly trying to knock down EXO so that they could be on the top.
Not to mention what had happened between the two previous leaders…
Minseok stands, making his way out his office to the lobby and almost bumping into someone.
“Hyung!”
Minseok blinks, staring at his surprised younger brother, Kim Jongin. They look at each other awkwardly, still not completely over what had happened only three months ago.
Jongin speaks, eyeing his brother carefully. “Are you going somewhere, hyung?”
“Yeah,” Minseok bobs his head, running a hand through his hair as he lets out a small smile. “Just to collect some old debts.”
Jongin looks confused as he cocks his head. “Debt? Doesn’t Kyungsoo usually do that?”
“Yes, but,” Minseok shakes his head. “This one is different. I’ll tell you the details later.”
“Okay.” Jongin shrugs casually, waving his brother goodbye as they continue in opposite directions.
Minseok is halfway to Lotteria’s base when he realizes he probably shouldn’t have come alone. The sight of EXO’s leader knocking at their doorstep is like wearing a target on his back, inviting anyone to attack him.
He gets out of his car and shrugs at himself, deciding it’s too late to turn back. He never regrets.
Not even when he fell in love with—
He shakes his head, trying to get the memories out of his head. It’s been three months already, for goodness sakes. He can’t sulk about it forever.
“Stop!” Minseok pauses when he hears a fierce voice, turning to see several guards making their way over to surround the doorway as they narrow their eyes on him. “EXO’s Xiumin? What brings you here?”
“I’ve come to collect an old debt.” Minseok answers calmly, staring at them steadily. “I want to see Raven.”
“Raven?” One guard growls before pulling out a gun, pressing it against Minseok’s head. “You have no right to meet our leader—”
“Let him in.”
Minseok’s eyes shift to meet your fierce ones, filled with irritation, curiosity and suspicion. The guards hesitate, eyes wide with surprise, before reluctantly backing off and letting him through.
His eyes stay trained on yours, neither breaking eye contact. When he’s directly in front of you, he nods in greeting and allows for a polite smile. “How have you been, Raven?”
Your eyes narrow on him, wondering why he would risk himself to come here alone, wondering if he has something planned. “I’m fine. And you, Xiumin?”
He shrugs. “Same.”
You lead him in, ignoring the way your men glance over and whisper curiously amongst themselves. You keep your head held high, walking straight ahead to show authority. Kim Minseok, EXO’s Xiumin, is in your territory now.
When you enter your office, you take your seat and motion for him to sit across from you. “Have a seat. What did you come here for?”
“I suppose it’s too implausible for me to have come simply to see an old friend?” Minseok offers with a shielded smile.
“Old friends?” You repeat his words and laugh. “As far as I remember, we are not friends. Maybe when we were very young, but,” all hints of friendliness dies on your face as you watch him coldly, “not anymore.”
“Ah,” Minseok leans back in his seat, his face neutral. “I was hoping we could start this off in a friendlier light. I suppose that’s hard to do when it’s you I’m talking to.”
“Speak.” You demand curtly. “What is it you came here for?”
“You owe me a great amount of money, Raven.” Minseok says easily. “Your father does, at least.”
You raise your brow at him. “I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about.”
“Almost twenty years ago,” Minseok starts, eyes darkening. “When Lotteria was caught by the police and your family had nowhere to hide, your father came to mine and asked for money. A large amount of money, might I add.”
You pause for a moment, drinking in his words. The story is familiar to you, but you have little recollection of it. “Yes…I was only about six at the time.” You frown. “I didn’t know he borrowed money from EXO.”
“But he did.” Minseok pulls up a screenshot he took of the spreadsheet on his phone and hands it to you.
Your eyes widen at the number. You double check the date, calculating in your mind to find that yes, indeed this is a reasonable date. “Seven billion dollars?” Your mouth goes dry as you shake your head. “No way.”
“Lotteria owes EXO.” Minseok rolls his eyes. “Without that amount of money, do you think your family could rebuild Lotteria so quickly? Do you think your family could even go into hiding long enough to avoid the police?”
“I don’t have the money.” You tell him curtly, drumming your fingers against your thigh.
Minseok laughs. “Oh, I think you do, Raven.” He says your appellation with added venom, a reminder of the past and the present. “I expect the money in a week.”
One week! You grit your teeth at the prompt deadline. Sure you have the money, but it’ll surely leave a dent in your finances, and you have a whole mafia to care for.
You watch as Minseok saunters out, and you immediately stand, almost knocking over your chair. “Wait!”
Minseok turns, curious as to why you stopped him. You sink your teeth into your bottom lip, hard enough to draw blood.
“I propose a deal.” You say slowly, ideas churning in your head and you wonder if he’ll take it. It’s certainly worth a shot.
“Oh?” Minseok raises a brow as he leans against the doorframe, waiting patiently for you to continue.
“To survive in this world, one must be good at gambling with life.” You let out a sly smile as you slowly make your way over to Minseok who doesn’t move an inch, instead watching you carefully.
“Agreed.” He answers simply.
“So will you gamble with me?” You tug at his tie, your smile growing wider. “I heard about your wedding.”
He stiffens immediately at the topic, but you urge on. “So I offer you a gamble to forget about your heartbreak.”
You meet his eyes boldly. “I can become your lover.”
Minseok’s eyes widen a fraction, interest and curiosity swimming in his dark irises. “Let’s pretend to be lovers for one month. Wouldn’t that be fun? And the first person to fall in love loses.” You grin widely. “If I lose, I pay you the money and a small portion of my land. If you lose, you give me one of your biggest casinos. If neither wins, I will honor the debt and repay you.” You shrug. “Fair deal, yes?”
“Fair deal?” Minseok let’s out a laugh. His eyes glimmering with something you can’t identify, but then the corners of his lips lift into a mischievous smirk. “I say game.”
You smile sweetly at him, offering your hand for a handshake. Instead, he kisses your knuckles. “Then let the deal start now.”
