I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE EPISODE AND OH MY GOD THE LAST MINUTES OF THE ARYLIE CONVERSATION HAVE ME SCREAMING!!!

Those 4 seconds were literally just a teaser..the full scene was SO much more. Aryan asking Imlie to cry. Aryan reminding her that her emotions are what make her her. Aryan being borderline desperate for her to show her emotions and not become like him. For days I've been theorizing about how Aryan sees himself in Imlie and that was more or less confirmed today. He does see himself in her which explains his interest in protecting her. In her he is reminded of where he went wrong. In his quest to become stronger, tougher, unshakable, unbreakable..he literally became a statue. He sees and he knows just how hurt his family is at the change of his personality. But for him it was necessary. For Imlie it doesn't have to be. Not if he can help it. He'll ask her to be strong but then he'll also cook up any excuse to give her the space to be weak because he knows her "weakness" comes from her emotions..her emotions are what shape her. Her emotions are her strength..the inner strength that wholly belongs to her. He doesn't want her to trade that for something learned and mechanical that he has.

And Imlie? Imlie calling him out on masking his emotions?! We are always focused on how Aryan sees Imlie but Imlie's single question that had Aryan staggering back had ME jumping up as well. She sees him too! She notices him too! The crisis in her life have made sure her mind is too occupied in dealing with all that shit but in the corner of her mind..Aryan has made a place too. Just because she doesn't say anything to him..just because her confrontations with him are more reactionary..doesn't mean she doesn't have anything to say! Buss mauqa hi nahin milta. Aaj mil gaya toh bol diya.

It's just..it's beautiful and my emotions are in shambles literally! Imlie wanting to be like Aryan..Aryan not wanting that. Because there wasn't anyone around him to protect his fragile emotions..he knows what he has lost. And he just doesn't want that for her. There's so much they could learn from each other. So many places where they could lean on each other. Her to him and him to her. Today's scene was the, imo, the best way to show their chemistry because it's only NOW that these two characters can start to be with each other as individuals. There's nothing legally or emotionally binding her with anyone. Of course it's gonna be a long journey..for it IS a journey of healing and moving on and the slower it is..the stronger and longer lasting it becomes. But I am just so gosh darn HAPPY that the first step has already been taken! UFF!! May the ITV Gods bless this ship and AryLie give us the payoff of all the buildup it has been given! AAMEEN!!

Long time since I’ve come by, hope you’re doing well! I was wondering which shows you’re following this season since a lot of new stuff has started in the past few weeks/coming up and what are you looking forward to? Have you watched either of Balaa or Tajdeed e Wafa? The only two I’m managing to follow rn and they’re both SO good! Honestly speaking, I love Ahad Raza Mir but if you had to choose in terms of acting skills Bilal Abbas or Ahad which one would you go for?

Yaar..I toh feel like I have lost all touch and interest in Pakistani dramas aaj kal. That’s what happens when literally ALL the projects I would’ve gotten excited for have that one thing which automatically turns me off from them -_- Khair. Tajdeed e Wafa looked nice in the promos but it’s written by Sameera Fazal and it’s no secret that that lady writes the most lackluster dramas of all. I did watch an episode of Balaa and enjoyed it. I think I’ll keep tabs on it provided the other ladies in my house watch it. Aaj kal life has gotten so busy for all of us that the TV time has pretty much disappeared from the house.

Okay, I won’t deny that Ahad has some massive screen presence and the aura of a star but the guy is waaayyyy overhyped. He has done like 3 projects altogether, and he played a supporting character in two of them. I feel like our media was so desperate to have a star kid in the industry like Bollywood that they just took Ahad’s one success and based on that gave him the title of a superstar. Which gets seriously annoying. His character in YKS was completely author backed. Heck, the whole narrative of the second half of the show was biased towards his character (at the expense of the female protagonist). Calling him a superstar and the practically hailing him as the best thing since sliced bread is a disservice not only to his contemporaries and senior actors but to Ahad himself.

Yeh toh hogaya Ahad. Bilal hasn’t really impressed me either but I think that’s more to do with the characters he chooses. Bechara hi bann ke reh gaya hai. Qurban could’ve been his big project as a hero but the offscreen politics caused him to be cleanly (read brutally) cast aside so that Shehzad Sheikh could get all the hero credits. The promos of Balaa showed a different side of Bilal that I am not used to and I found it really interesting. Let’s see how he plays Taimoor who seems like a character with many shades.

Basically..both Ahad and Bilal need to do a lot more diverse work for me to decide who is the better actor. I really want to watch more of them, attempting different things in each project. But right now only Bilal is doing that. Ahad toh apni starkid image ko hi maintain karne mein busy hai :)
