14) What do you think of jekyll? Do you think he’s a bad person?

Well *I* think Jekyll's just like me, he just like me for real. HOWEVER, I think he also just kinda sucks.

He's a nuanced character but my Surface Level take on Jekyll is, he wanted to do all the things he did as Hyde -> Jekyll is as bad a person as Hyde, Jekyll is a murderer, Jekyll trampled a child, etc.

However...To ME... He is like that due to...The Circumstances. Something Something daddy issues turn you into a people pleaser mommy issues make you fucking insane and Jekyll has Both. + also Victorian man how did they make you soooo very repressed.

Also I just personally don't think Hyde was Intended to be as fucked up as he turned out based off Jekyll's statement of the case and Jekyll got kinda more and more disconnected from his actions as he got away with more and more as Hyde(+ also Hyde destroys some of Jekyll's things like his father's portrait which...I'm a Jekyll daddy issues truther so to ME that was Hyde letting out emotions Jekyll didn't even KNOW he was repressing so...) . Definitely he still Did That, everything Hyde Does in the book IS Jekyll's fault but I don't think Jekyll's whole intention to create Hyde was to go out and trample children.

This is probably not the BESSTTT explanation of my thoughts on Jekyll but this is already getting long so its like, a sparknotes of my psychoanalysis of that man + I tried to take out as many of my own personal headcanons as I could. So yeah, not my FULL thoughts on that man or his morality but like, a sparknoted version.
