I am unironically thinking about an immortal Spider-au, so just hear me out. At some point in his younger years, he gets into an accident that ends with him dead and waking up in Eywa, meeting a few unfamiliar faces😉. He doesn't stay long there as his body heals and pulls him right back out. Since he is a kid and doesn’t really comprehend what happened, just that it’s a way for him to finally"connect" with pandora, he starts doing it on purpose, the only problem being that his body adapts every time he does it, even the air doesn't affect him at some point. Imagine him taking the bullet for Neteyam and just shrugging it and off while every one else is freaking out. If you want an angstier version, Neteyam still dies, and since Spider has probably done his thing way too many times, he has to go to some extreme lengths to meet him, even then it might not work.

It's givinggggg New Moon but darker and less comically stupid. I do love this take on self harm, which is a concept we love doing with Spider and characters like him. Not to get all annoying and English major-y, but I love the speculative as metaphors for serious topics. Spider has to hurt himself in order to be seen by those he loves. That is, uGH, so juicy and well thought out excuse me while I go put that on my novel concept google doc.

Yes, the idea of him shrugging off the bullet is funny, but this idea of him going to greater and greater lengths to see his love, knowing that eventually he'll run out of options, and all the while somewhat hoping that it'll stick this time and he can stay with Neteyam; brutal and beautiful. He might never die, and the more ways he tries places him one step closer to never seeing Neteyam again.

what would be more interesting to see in a fic is if instead of glimmer hate from clove being over a guy (boring, clichéd, overdone trope, etc), it's like this natural instinct to dislike her because glimmer is pretty and feminine and flirtatious and charismatic, and seems to have life easy because of this, which is why clove falls into the same trap of misjudging her. you know, in like the same way katniss does.

i've done it myself to other pretty teen girls unconsciously, it's a really natural teen girl thing to assume that pretty girls never struggle or are mean people when they're actually decent people. and it was honestly kind of interesting for suzanne to write katniss as having those very teenage girl biases about glimmer (and finnick to an extent) and see this very real world thing happen in the context of a universe as violent and fundamentally different from an average high school as thg. so yeah it would be cool to see that from clove too for these reasons instead of it being about... a dude.

I don't have any sort of schedule in mind like I'm going to start tomorrow and watch at least the first 5 episodes or so, we'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow. But otherwise yeah it'll be pretty sporadic especially with working and stuff, but hey! We'll have fun! 😄

I've had this marked on all of my calendars for months now. 🤭

I hope that they retire his number and announce that they are gonna build a statue of him for the front of Gillette Stadium!!

Maybe they will even sign him for one day and rename Gillette after him, but I'm not counting on those things happening. They could, though, which is why I have to make sure that I don't miss a second of the action!!!!

I personally don't think that they should sign him for one day just so he can retire as a Patriot. I understand why people want that, though!! Everything that he did for Boston is legendary and not to be forgotten anytime soon.

For me, what it comes down to is that he left the Pats because he felt like he wasn't being treated well anymore...I can't see why he would then agree to sign with them for one day just so he can officially retire as a Patriot.
