You go to the fridge to take out the milk. Huh? The box of cereal is in there. Where's the milk? You open the cabinet to see the milk.

"WHOOOOO put the MILK in the CABINET?!" You called out. Everyone gets quiet.

Outside you sigh while you lean against the wall. The cold and slightly moist brick wall makes contact with your bare shoulders and with a small yelp, you flinch and take a step forward. “Fuck.”, you whisper while looking down at the small brownish stains on your once-clean dress.

You hear how the exit door behind you unlocks and opens up:” I’m so glad that this happens now and not later, Dames. Imagine me having to sit through the award show with this mess.”

“Dames, huh.”

Your head quickly turns around and you listen to it crack. A pit opens up inside your stomach when you figure out that the person who joined you isn’t your fiancé. “What’s wrong with it?”, the question leaves your lips before you can think about it and you despise how unsure it sounds- but then again his opinion used to count most to you, and some feelings are tougher to get rid of than others.

Noel scans your features before his eyes drift down your dress:” Is that what you call your boyfriend?” “Fiancé.”

You quickly straighten your back before crossing your arms. Without having any power over it, your facial muscles become rigid and you can feel the bitterness boiling up in you. How dare he?
