Depot Slamet: "meski sempet nunggu lama, kesal kami terbayar..."

Hari ini, Minggu.

Happened to be in Surabaya, iseng pingin cobain kuliner khasnya.

To be honest, I love Surabaya culinary. It surely has a lot of options and most of them comes up with reasonable price, and some are really delicious, well at least for me :p

When they asked me where to eat, I mentioned "RM. Bu Rudi" first. I always love to buy stuffs there. Their sambals are the best. And they also sell some more chosen Surabaya's knick knacks, only the best.

But this time, I really wanna try to eat in their restaurant. I google and found that "Special Nasi Udang" that made me droollllll....

But too sad when we got there, It was too crowded. Too many people there, and we don't get any parking slot left. It was so dissapointed.

I thought of going to stop trying to eat and go home when my brother suggested for us to go to "Depot Slamet" instead. Well, it is just some miles away on the same road.

I am not really into the idea of Chinese Food, but this time I said yes. And there we were.

Don't judge the book by its cover.

It is located in the corner of the street. At first it looks like a very small restaurant. I dont even see the tables and chairs. We enter that small place and keep on walking inside. Guess what? Inside there is a really big room with a lot of table and chair. We picked one table and sat there, all 4 of us.

It was full of other people. We ordered Nasi Goreng Hongkong, Cap Jay, and Koloke. We need to wait for so long till we get what we had ordered. It was for around 45 mins. When they came up with the food we got amazed. The portion was so big, even for the 4 of us. And it tastes delicious. One of the best Chinese Food that I have ever tried so far, tho well, Cap Jay is the most recommended above all.

So guys, when you come to Surabaya do remember to drop by this restaurant. There is nothing wrong with waiting a bit longer, because you will be satisfied with their great recipes and that super big portion of dishes.
