Yeah, it's been a while since i've drawn the Julius from my Disney Stars AU, and even longer since i've felt so compelled to draw a very sarcastic and goofy cat character. Honestly, it was sorta Apathetic-Coffee's posts that made me get back into the swing of drawing Julius again, so I decided to try my hand at drawing their Julius. It's not the best, obviously, but it's honestly pretty difficult drawing cats and cartoon characters.

You can imagine my pain when I have to draw a character that's both of those things-

some rambley thoughts of what i’ve managed to come up with so far

(since this s/i is literally me but exaggerated i’m giving them my own actual name lol)

-s/i julius is basically a run of the mill neurodivergent nerd. a socially awkward ditz with his head in the clouds who doesn’t have many friends. (also a repressed gay lol)

-in this au cuphead is a golden age cartoon (that follows the plot of the game) that waned in popularity over the years but ended up getting a cult following among animation fans on the internet including with julius, who’s a big fan.

-like most hyperfixators they enjoy getting whatever obscure merch they can get their grubby hands on. and one day while thift shopping they managed to find a genuine film reel of the cuphead cartoon for surprisingly cheap and they excitedly buy it despite the red flags of how the store owner mentions that the last owner seemed desperate to get rid of it and how the thing looks like it hasn’t aged at all despite how old it is.

-they end up getting a film projector for an ok price ((may have been an impulse but)(also let’s pretend 8mm film reels are cheap)) set everything up, and on the day they finally sit down to watch the reel, everything seems to go fine. until it doesn’t go past the title card and when they try to stop the film things get worse and UH OH THEY GET MAGIC ZAPPED AAA and pass out with the last thing they see being the projected film swirling together like a colorful portal

-julius wakes up in the middle of inkwell isle 1’s woods (which they don’t realize yet) and because they’re in the cartoon they see everything animated now which they catch onto things being. wrong.

-they do NOT take this well and proceed to panic and just, run around for a bit until they end up on the root pack’s farm (of all places) they realize the place is familiar but are still in shock + still having brain fog after the zippy zip zapping

-not wanting to have a breakdown too out in the open (and also feeling a little feral) they climb a tree with a tire swing to. give themself a pep talk to try and calm their anxiety and assure themself that surely no matter what they can find a way home.

-they get their confidence back just a little, stand up and claim loudly “nothing will go wrong!” and then they hear someone yell a “HEY” from behind, fall from the tree, and get caught

-wait what

-and when they look up they’re looking into the eyes of a very confused and flustered carrot

-WAIT WHAT

-julius just ends up staring into his eyes for a bit with so many thoughts overflowing in their head because A CARROT IS HOLDING THEM (AND BLUSHING???) and they realize this is a character from the ‘cuphead’ cartoon finally hits them that they have been (isekai’d like in the manags) transported into another world

-chauncey finally speaks up and asks ‘who are you?’ and julius is so embarrassed and confused they just flail out of his arms and run away like a spooked cat with a even more confused carrot left behind (and his 2 friends who saw the whole thing)

-and thus begins the story of how some fish out of water guy starts a chain of events that totally doesn’t cause them to get three (3) boyfriends who are vegtables

do you ever just *have funny self ship idea/au thing that you have stuck in your head but you can’t get past the basic draft so it rotates in your brain like a microwave*
