the thing is i just don't think arctic monkeys got "worse" (or better for that matter, i think they've been very consistently & are still very consistently good) even tho their general style did change a HUGE lot. like yeah WPSIATWIN is your classic indie rock and it's fantastic, & i don't rlly consider any of their albums past like, humbug to be that, but like AM is genuinely fantastic?? just because something is overplayed doesn't mean it's not good. and i love the lounge vibe of tbhc/car so ive no issues with the direction they've gone, like i really don't think they've "gotten worse" even though they've obviously changed
