Same-Day OB/GYN Appointment in Greenbelt, Maryland
Tumblr media
There are some situations when you can wait for an appointment to see your OB/GYN and others when you may need to see your doctor right away. Do you need to prepare for a visit to your women’s healthcare specialist? Should you schedule a virtual or in-person visit? What is the best way to get a same-day OB/GYN appointment in Greenbelt, Maryland? Here’s the scoop!
Should I Really Prepare For a Same-Day OB/GYN Appointment?
As much as you can, yes. It is possible to be seen right away, and that obviously might not leave you much time to get ready. When you do have the time, there are easy steps you can do to get the most from your visit.
Dress comfortably, and wear something that can be easily taken off in case you need a thorough exam. Many women wear socks to keep their feet from getting cold.
Don’t overdo your prep. Take a shower, but don’t douche. This can wash away cells your OB/GYN might need to examine. You shouldn’t use powder either. This can also interfere with test results.
Ideally, if you’ve been experiencing specific symptoms, you’ve been keeping track. Keeping notes not only helps you, but it’ll help your OB/GYN too. In those notes, write down any medications or supplements you’re taking, as well as any questions you might have.
Don’t forget to take your ID, insurance information, and method of payment with you. If this is your first visit and you have the time, you can download patient forms and fill them out at home.
Here Are Things to Keep in Mind When Making a Same-Day OB/GYN Appointment
Many patients don’t realize most doctors actually block time for same-day appointments. However, it’s a good idea to remain flexible just in case you need to see a different OB/GYN or physician’s assistant. It might be a different healthcare provider, but if you’re an existing patient your health records will be available to whomever you see.
Don’t rely solely on online appointment information. Yes, you might be able to book a same-day OB/GYN appointment in Greenbelt, Maryland online, or you might even be able to email your provider directly. However, if you don’t see a same-day opening on the online schedule, it’s better to pick up the phone. You’ll get a faster response through a phone call than you will through the Internet.
Find out if a virtual appointment will work. If you feel bad, there is a good chance you probably don’t feel up to leaving home. In some cases, a virtual OB/GYN appointment might be satisfactory, especially if you’re dealing with a chronic condition or a repeat of symptoms you’ve had before.
Why Do Patients Schedule Same-Day OB/GYN Appointments?
There are many symptoms that can cause worry. If you experience any of the following, you should request a same-day or next-day appointment:
Abdominal pain
Exposure to an STD
Urinary tract infection (UTI)
Unexpected vaginal bleeding/spotting
Unusual discharge
Vaginal infections
No matter the symptoms, go ahead and call your OB/GYN to see if a same-day appointment is necessary if you are concerned. For life-threatening symptoms, do not hesitate to contact 911 or go to your local emergency room.

Mariame Toure Sylla, known more commonly as Madame Sylla has gone missing. A pillar of her community and a much beloved woman was last seen July 29th, 2023.
I doubt posting here will help at all, but I do think drawing more attention to missing women of color is important. I haven't seen her story all over. I hope she's found safe, as her family and community are still holding on to hope too.

Since childhood
Since childhood I have known that Jupiter is ten times bigger than Earth.
Recent research shows from the perspective of NASA's Juno Spacecraft
that Jupiter has normal water in its atmosphere.
Now Jupiter is a planet in which thousands of Earths can fit.
Earth has water at three levels on its entire surface.
So Jupiter's normal water content means how much water is there there?
Jupiter's atmosphere contains about 0.25% water molecules at the equator, which is almost three times the amount of water in the Sun's atmosphere.
Here's some more information about water on Jupiter:
Measuring water
The Juno mission's Microwave Radiometer (MWR) measures the amount of water in Jupiter's atmosphere by detecting how water absorbs certain wavelengths of microwave radiation.
Water in the atmosphere
The MWR can collect data from deeper into Jupiter's atmosphere than the Galileo probe, allowing it to measure water in greater detail.
Water in the ocean
Jupiter's large ocean is made of hydrogen, not water. The pressure and temperature increase deep in the atmosphere, compressing the hydrogen gas into a liquid.
Relatively speaking, there's not much water on Jupiter. It's gasseous atmosphere is made up primarily of helium and hydrogen, the same gasses that the Sun is made of. Together they make up about 99% of the planet.30 Apr 2020

Solar Panels for NASA’s Roman Space Telescope Pass Key Tests - NASA
Tumblr media
NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope’s Solar Array Sun Shield has successfully completed recent tests, signaling that the assembly is on track to be completed on schedule. The panels are designed to power and shade the observatory, enabling all the mission’s observations and helping keep the instruments cool.
The Roman team has two sets of these panels –– one that will fly aboard the observatory and another as a test structure, used specifically for preliminary assessments.
Engineers at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, evaluated the test version in a thermal vacuum chamber, which simulates the hot and cold temperatures and low-pressure environment the flight panels will experience in space. Since the panels will be stowed for launch, the team practiced deploying them in space-like conditions.
Meanwhile, a vendor built up the flight version by fitting the panels with solar cells. After delivery to Goddard, technicians tested the solar cells by flashing the panels with a bright light that simulates the Sun.
“We save a significant amount of time and money by using two versions of the panels, because we can do a lot of preliminary tests on a spare while moving further in the process with the flight version,” said Jack Marshall, the Solar Array Sun Shield lead at NASA Goddard. “It streamlines the process and also avoids risking damage to the panels that will go on the observatory, should testing reveal a flaw.”
Next spring, the flight version of the Solar Array Sun Shield will be installed on the Roman spacecraft. Then, the whole spacecraft will go through thorough testing to ensure it will hold up during launch and perform as expected in space.
