Learned last night that at some point redditors reinvented the McDank (a McChicken placed between the halves of a McDouble), but instead decided to call it the McGangbang which, besides separating it from its origins as a 4chan stoner thing, it’s like, and I don’t mean to be pedantic or sex-negative or w/e, but that’s just one sandwich going into another sandwich which is definitionally not a gangbang unless they are suggesting that the participants are represented by the patties (this is merely a threesome) or the buns (deranged)

Ok petty pissed mode activated.

I've been avoiding my Mother's house. My Mom and I have a colorful history and I've been trying to heal from all of these childhood wounds that she conveniently doesn't remember inflicting.

I don't hate my family, I'm just a little mad at them. So, I avoid their company as not to snap at people for reasons they do not remember or understand.

So naturally when my Mom found out I'd be able to visit this Thanksgiving she got very excited, purchased a 20 pound turkey the whole bit.

My partner even managed to get the evening off so we were able to go together.

The moment I arrived the vibe was off.

The ENTIRE family had a cold and just kind of Neglected to mention it.

We had a nice meal and an ok time, but now my husband had come down with whatever cold they had, and I also seem to be coming down with it.

I told my partner when we got in the car this was probably going to happen. I told them that if I had been by myself I likely would have walked and said I'd delay until everyone was feeling a bit better.

But I stayed because the weight of tradition outweighed my physical health.

And I don't ever want that to be the case again.

If your family is sick, I give you permission to leave the party, if you need permission. I, your friendly neighborhood internet stranger am giving you permission.

It ain't worth it. You may think "oh the exposure isn't any worse than the grocery store" but they've been cooking that food in front of you all day. It's covered in their germs. You are virtually guaranteed to get whatever bug they've gotten.

It doesn't appear to be Covid, (yet), but I'm not holding my breath. Namely because I have asthma.

Just get some McDanks or something JFC.

Second petty mode offense which is more of a me realizing that I value people more than they value me.

My partner and I have a friend couple we consider family.

Thankfully, my bestie started therapy at the end of 2021 and is doing a lot better.

They haven't been reaching out as much recently which is fine. No worries.

But they did tell us they had finally gotten engaged. Which, fucking FINALLY, they've been together for 10 goddamn years.

We were the first they had told.

Today I open "social media network that sucks but my whole generation seems to be on" and there they are.

On a plane

To the Dominican Republic.

And they just kinda didn't at all mention it to us.

And yes, I'm mad about that. Like seriously bitches I tell y'all everything and the best you can do is a FB update. It appears to be for vacation, which is fabulous.

Great for them.

When my bestie does reach out now, outside of major life events it's to remind me she is a Mortgage banker and can help me with my mortgage.

With two YEARS worth of paystubs and at a horrid rate.

Naw man, no thanks.

I'ma...just keep to myself over here on Tumblr from here on out methinks.

It's better to be in one's own company than to be part of a dog and pony show for people who do not think of you as family any longer.

Yall, I'm basically the Monarch of McDanks in my household, mk? So this question has definitely caught my attention.

I feel like Loki (to put it bluntly) would be absolutely disgusted by the shere concept of fast food and how it's made. After being presented with luxurious meals that have taken hours, even days of preparation for their entire life, fast food is simply revolting.

Even with their burning curiosity, it would be a bit difficult to convince her to order something from McDonald's. If it happened, I feel Loki would keep it incredibly simple since he is thoroughly convinced he'll hate it.

Their order would consist of: Either a McChicken or Hamburger, a small fry and a small drink (that isn't water due to your request)

Once she looks past the terrible conditions the food is cooked in, much to their shock, Loki would actually enjoy the meal. It isn't any of the gourmet meals he's used to being presented, but surprisingly enough, it would please them. Within moments of the first bite, he would be going back in for another. Later on, as they begin to explore the menu of McDonalds, one of their favorite things to eat (which you reveal to him) is dipping their fries in one of the flavored milkshakes.

But Loki would defend themselves by explaining that the convenience of the food is the main point of why it's so desirable. If you ever happen to be swinging by McDanks to pick up some food though, Loki will ask you to pick him up something, or if you already got the food, to share your meal with her. (which I think would be adorable)

What do I think Loki would order...hmmm. I think he would order a plain hamburger with a side of carrot sticks (it's a thing in the UK) because he's feeling salty and doesn't see what all the fuss is about and he's going to hate it anyway and instantly regrets his decision when he sees everyone else's 😂
