It's disappointing to see someone succumb to the attitude that a lot of people adopt defensively. I've always been a big proponent of the Noxcrew (sometimes to a point where Dream stans get mad at me) but they're grown adults running this event/representing this company and their comments seem incredibly childish. I am very sorry that they get treated poorly by children on Twitter but that's not really a good excuse.

Hmmmmmm. I mean I understand why people are frustrated with Noxite's (as a group, not sure who was talking) comments, they were not kind, but also like, the fandom will defend Dream's right to talk back to people when he's being harassed, and Noxite gets endless shit from people intending to be defending dtqk (despite those people all saying come on we're all friends let me be frustrated and move on). So I kinda think it's fair for them to have a couple minutes of frustration on a livestream while they're getting live-mobbed on social media? Idk.

I was really impressed with how Dream and his team actually responded to the incredible frustration of a block glitch taking them out of a round— they were really good sports!— so it was really disappointing to see twitter decide to do the exact oppisite, and then now everyone's shouting at each other.

I do see your point -- I think the difference (for me) is that they weren't hitting back at the same people who were harassing them. I've watched the noxcrew make very justified and sometimes genuinely funny jokes about Twitter stans and mcc drama and the like. But there's a difference between that and calling Dream unprofessional in a situation where he - as you yourself said - was frustrated but generally a good sport. And calling the fans of the event friendless as an aside. This (again, to me) doesn't make the crew bad people or anything like that, it's just a trap that a lot of people in the creator sphere fall into where the criticism/hate blurs and it becomes hard to discern who's saying what. I never want anyone to be harassed and some feral boys stans do often go too far. But I also find the comments discomforting to an extent, y'know?

I'm glad Smajor called the people raising a fuss out because there's this notion that "Dream stans" are the only toxic ones when it comes to MCC and while I absolutely won't deny that some DTeam/FB stans are awful, it's also worth acknowledging how there's just as much drama from the other side.

Yeah I hate how they treat her :( like not liking her isn't inherently misogynistic - and you can not like whoever you want - but the comments they make after the fact often fucking are and it goes to show how they really feel. It's not hard to just not interact with shit you don't want to see. I hope she has a long and happy career and they all cry about it. (And really, I hope they find the kindness they're lacking outside of Twitter)

I totally agree. Like I said, I've watched every single admin stream up to the past 3 or so several times. I'm like a genuine fan of Noxite, I think he's funny and he always has liked Dream even if it's from a distant respect with him being a good competitor. Yes, sometimes they jab, but I'm a big boy and I'm not gonna get pissy on behalf of some /lh jokes. This was something that felt like them angry at the fanbase for a built-up amount of things and while I understand that they are only human (and that dttwt can be a nightmare sometimes) -- they have to understand how alienating and unfair that is

tbh if you remove twitter there is no mess - I assume, I’m sure there are freaks here who are still milking this for all it’s worth. Literally people just need to laugh a little, Dream is a bit of idiot sometimes, laugh at him and move on don’t invest half a day crying and exaggerating how malicious his rant littered with “love noxcrews” was, stupid for a couple things he could left out and not being funny enough; yes, malicious or unreasonable considering his POV of no context and not realizing his first win was potentially boosted by the issue; no.

ik that noxite is usually pretty positive and there is usually a little clearly lighthearted ribbing about dream so this caught me so off guard its so weird like it might be some pent up frustration about hate from twitter but it feels so unfair to take it out by mockinv dream like this especially after he recently defended noxite anfter the meltdown map fiasco. i think the thing that really unsettlles tho me is the clip dug up from admin pov mcc11 when the noxcrew are making jokes about dream being swatted i can link that if yoy havent seen it

If it's what I'm thinking of I'm actually willing to grant them some grace in that because I remember they didn't want people talking about it if it was true and they were trying to steer people's attentions in a lighthearted direction/away from Dream having this scary thing happen to him, but I also don't fully remember so I understand if it's different from that (I just wanted to put that context out there). Anyway yeah it's very clear that they're sick of Dream's fans (which isn't fair at all bc it's quackity and sapnap and George solos just as often if not more - but I digress) and that's seeping into their commentary, but to call people who took a large chunk of time out of their day to watch your event "friendless" for doing so is truly batshit 😭

Yeah I thnk twitter was bad about Niki, but that was mostly earlier? The kind of surprising amount of vitriol praying on Green's downfall all seemed to come from Wilbur blogs, here. I don't know why they were so mad? But they all seemed to think that the team was unbalanced was a personal affront. I had to unfollow people about it, today. No group or platform is immune to toxicity.

I do remember that, and I abhor that kind of behavior. But I also - if you'd pardon me talking about myself for a second - had nothing to do with it. I love Niki in MCC, I'm not a Twitter user (generally), and I have no ties to those stans other than the fact that we watch the same videos sometimes, yk ? Idk I'm being nitpicky - it just threw me off.

Anyway. In my experience, Wilbur blogs tend to be blunt about their feelings. If they think lore is poorly written or a cc is being annoying or whatever they'll just kind of outright say it. Usually I don't think it matters to people bc they're more critical of the dteam and there's that whole dtblr/sbi fan split, but this time with it being Green I get why it might’ve been surprising. I'm sure most of them didn't mean any harm - I mean Phil was on that team and Wilbur fans love Phil - but good on you for curating your experience (/gen)

Not like the other side wasn’t also causing drama…. Seriously, I get that Dream fans get a lot of undeserved hate but y’all were participating plenty in the toxicity and drama today. Hating on Niki, hating on Scott, hating on Green Geckos and cheering when they got third (real classy btw…), hating on hbomb when Aqua won. The “no drama cause no dteam” shit is toxic and unwarranted but come on, responding with being toxic is also not the move.

First of all, the most popular post I saw cheering for green's third place was made by a Wilburian. In the nicest way possible, a lot of people were rooting against them. And that's not a hate thing, it's just like sports; if you want the Rams to win you're rooting against the Bengals. Not to say some people werent harsh or worse, but that was hardly fanbase-specific. People are like that everywhere.

Second of all, I never said dteam fans don't cause problems. My whole point was just that everyone's been saying this event was nice and peaceful and fun because the icky dream team wasn't in it and it's really sad that that's their idea of a "non-toxic" response to this game and the friends/acquaintances who play it. You can be as negative as you want to be; I'm not your mom (not you-you, a general you). It's the moral superiority that gets me.
