Victoria’s Name Meaning & History

Origin/Meaning:

Victoria: Latin meaning “victory”

Diana: Indo-European meaning “divine”

Clarke: English and Irish comes from Latin meaning Clericus

Why was MC named this in your universe? We’re they named after someone? A family name?

Victoria’s fathers grandmother name was called Victoria, she passed away shortly before Victoria was born. Plus Victoria’s Mum wanted an English name for her child as she was English (even though it’s a Latin name).

Why did you pick this name?

I was trying to think of names and was watching the TV series Victoria when I was doing so. The name then just stuck with me!

If not this name, what would you have named your MC?

Initially I was settled on the name Lucy but then changed it last minute.

Victoria is nicknamed “Vicky” by her dad, brother and sister. Her Mum nicknames her “Tor”, “Tori” and “Toria” as that’s the common English nickname for those called Victoria. Her English side of her family also nickname her this as well. Ethan affectionately nicknames her “Vic” and so do her friends.
