September, 2024
Semua berawal dari sini. Perjalanan pertamaku ke luar negeri. Kali ketiga aku menaiki pesawat.
I also have the same problem." she said. Bismillah, semoga Allah mudahkan perjalanan studi selama 2 tahun ini dengan lancar, bersama hadiahku dismenore.

I don’t know about you, but I needed this meeting on a day like today.
This is Moha Alshawamreh. He is from a village near Hebron. He is a Palestinian working in the Israeli tech industry, not something you see often.
Turns out, he reached out a while ago on LinkedIn and apparently I was very responsive. We then set up a zoom to talk about his career. Mind you, I didn’t remember any of this, but we met today because he wanted to meet and say thank you. He told me that he was in a deep depression when he reached out and the fact that I replied and took time to speak really helped him.
You never know how a simple act like replying to a LinkedIn message can really transform a life.
He also wanted to say how sorry he is for what happened to Ari. He said “I know I can’t bring him back but I am so sorry for what a Palestinian did to your brother.”
Recently The New York Times published an article about his personal trajectory and difficult journey into the Israeli tech industry https://nytimes.com/2023/03/11/world/middleeast/palestinians-israel-tech-workers.html…
At the age of 15, Moha read the book called “Man’s Search for Meaning,” by Viktor E. Frankl. Through this book, he learned for the first time about the Holocaust and the concentration camps. He told me that he also learned perseverance and resilience, which helped in his journey.
Moha spent about 8 years in South East Asia (Malaysia, Korea, Japan) where he earned a BA in computer science and MA in behavioral economics on a full scholarship. He also learned to speak both Korean and Japanese.
While in Korea, he learned about Israel and the startup nation and decided to come back, got an internship in an Israeli startup, then completed his MBA at Tel-Aviv University after a difficult year with the help of David Broza and others.
After a long journey full of hardships, rejections, depression, and tears - he was able to get his first full-time job in Israeli tech.
Honestly I went into this meeting blind. He asked to meet. I agreed. I had very little context. Boy am I glad I took the meeting. It was incredibly inspiring and fulfilling to hear his story.
It kinda restored my faith in humanity.

Professor Michael Frese তিনি 2024: Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research পুরস্কার প্রাপ্ত একজন জার্মান উদ্যোক্তা গবেষক।
--
It felt like a dream to me, with a world-renowned entrepreneurship researcher standing next to me.
Those whom I used to read in books, search on google, they are alive in front of me now. The feeling is just looking like a wow….
I was invited to the conference at Asia School of Business University on October 22. I went there as the Executive Producer of Codefeek Digital Communications.
However, this university's for Masters in Business students. Here about 92% of the people at the conference were MBAs or business owners, and the remaining 8% were medium startups or undergraduates.
But I was surprised to see the ticket price for this one conference which was around 13 thousand bangladeshi taka. However, Asia School of Business University paid 100% of my ticket price.
Our conference started at eight in the morning and ended at six in the evening.
Of course, delicious food was arranged for lunch. And there is coffee!
I met the founders of some of these companies, they were telling their early stories. I learned a lot about risk management from them.
In this way, I did not notice the time that passed between discussions, stories, and introductions.
And these pictures were taken after the conference was over...
In the first picture,
Professor Michael Frese is a German entrepreneurship researcher who received the 2024: Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research.
In the second picture,
Prof. Dr. Saras Sarasvathy is an American-Indian entrepreneurship researcher who received the 2022: Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research. However, Malaysia has invited him from America to provide research training to the entrepreneurs of this country.

Youth Involvement in the SDGs.
I think one of the biggest struggles in sustainable development is that not everyone thinks they can make a difference. It always feels like it's only the big corporations or those who are already established who can do anything relevant about our world’s issues. I was a member of the Model United Nations organization back in UPLB, and I even ended up leading the organization for a time. A lot of students are aware of the MDGs and eventually, the SDGs. You will see many student organizations advocating the 17 SDGs, frequently seeing the different colors of the SDG branding in many student events. I have attended a lot of MUN conferences, here in the Philippines and abroad, and I was even invited to a MUN conference in Malaysia that is dedicated to the SGS called Global Goals MUN Conference. That being said, these events only raise awareness regarding these initiatives, but do not really inspire young people that they can actually take action.
The United Nations is an inspiration to a lot of young people, especially to students like me who like attending MUN conferences. Many students would like to work for the UN one day, especially for one of its many organs and agencies. I have fellow members of our MUN organizations who eventually ended up working with UNDP and WHO. I myself would like to work for FAO or WFP in the future. These aspirations cannot be achieved during our time as students, however. That is why initiating involving students and young people is a great way to maximize everyone's help toward the SDGs. That is how I encountered UN SDSN or the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. UN SDSN is basically an extension arm of the United Nations to get more universities and students involved in their efforts 1 campus at a time. I met one of the youth leaders of this organization during my time organization MUN conferences in the Philippines. Back then, the organization was still new, but I was eventually invited to join UN SDSN in the Philippines.
I was already in my final year in college when I was invited to join UN SDSN Philippines. But I still think it's an interesting initiative to get more students, scientists, and researchers involved. This organization is used to gather members of the academe, government, and civil society to tackle world issues, particularly climate change and achieving the SDGs. One of its programs is the SDG Academy, an open educational resource center meant to curate different knowledge and guides from the world's leading experts in SDGs. They also directly contribute to generating reports and observations of different key performance indicators of the different SDGs. Their network consists of many educational institutions abroad including here in the Philippines. There are also many student-led oganizations who are joining their network and advocating the initiatives of the United Nations.
Youth involvement in addressing the SDGs brings fresh new perspectives and energy. But as I said earlier, they are mostly limited to raising awareness and restricted within the confines of their campus and education. Similar to our MBA program where CSR education is a required part of the curriculum, perhaps sustainability should also be part of any course. Whether it be in science or in the arts. This way, students will have an idea of how to contribute towards the goals even during their academic years. Youth participation in decision-making needs to be more prominent in our society, especially with our current problems where most of the effects will be felt by the young generation.
