December 10th-11th, 2021 brought on what was definitely one of the most terrifying things I've ever been through so far: a massive tornado outbreak that hit several states, including the one I live in, Kentucky

I barely got lucky since there were two tornadoes that hit cities within 15 minutes away from where I live, but there was far worse that happened outside of the county I live in, and it's still absolutely shocking and terrifying to see the destruction that happened in Mayfield, KY and all the other places that got hit by the EF4 tornado that spawned later into December 10th

Yeah, I was kept awake until like 3 something in the morning by a tornado warning

Seeing pictures of the damage in Mayfield, KY (one of the places hit by the second EF4) that happened is terrifying, and it doesn't help that Mayfield is only a few hours away from me

I've gotten tornado warnings before, but I've never like- Actually been HIT by one. I genuinely believed there was this one time where I thought my area WAS going to get hit by one, but it turned out just to be like- Super heavy rain n stuff. I was all freaked out and concerned why no one else seemed freaked out.

🚨🚨🚨 I DONT KNOW WHO WILL SEE THIS, BUT PLEASE PRAY FOR WESTERN KY. 🚨🚨

My hometown has almost been completely destroyed. So many homes plus the courthouse, jail, city hall, and many local landmark businesses. Sadly there was also a collapse at a local factory with over 100 trapped. I don’t know how many have died.

I can’t explain what it like here. Seeing it on tv is so different than living it. We have no electricity or water. We had a ice storm hit in 2011 that was awful, but this makes that look small compared. I don’t know if Mayfield will be the same again.

UPDATE:

We are still without power/water. It’ll be several days.

I learned a girl I grew up with lost her 4 year old son and her entire house was leveled . I can’t imagine the pain she is in. She’s has 4 other kids as well. Her CashApp is $HudaAlubahi if anyone would like to donate.

Thankfully surrounding areas & our community have stepped up to help provide essentials & some hotel rooms. They are still pulling people from the building. They did pull someone out alive today (almost 48 hours after the storm) so there is still hope for the others. Please continue to pray for those grieving. Continue praying that they find the ones missing. This has shaken Mayfield to its core.

Many people are still missing and anyone that was in the path of the storms can absolutely use your prayers right now, Mayfield was hit the hardest but many people across the state lost everything and many are still without power.
