today i am thinking about daeho and hyunju and how they’re two sides of the same coin, marked by traditional expectations of masculinity and femininity and the trauma that comes with trying to fit into these rigid spaces for survival. its so incredibly relevant that hyunju is the one who finds daeho having his breakdown after returning to retrieve ammo.. no doubt she’s already showed how capable and strong she is but also the fact that daeho has probably associated femininity with weakness (thanks to his father) being gradually shattered by how capable hyunju is. how her earrings sparkle even when her hair is caked with blood. how she fixes her ponytail in between perfect headshots. maybe daeho is able to deconstruct what he’s internalized for so long. maybe he even figures out a little about himself.
