The downside of imagining smacking AUs together in this manner is that, like, something like 80% of the time we make our major AUs close enough to canon on the surface level that a lot of the "learning about the Cool And Fun differences between each other's universes" stuff requires us making Very Specific Conversational Circumstances.

#we speak #imagining the conversations themselves is fun but also. how on earth would this naturally come up in conversation #lot of common knowledge gaps rather than Big Blaring Holes In Understanding on our side #doing a crossover like that would be like. guys on the other side are doing an 8k word infodump and our au guys are nodding along #and then it passes as canon for like. fuckin half a dozen chapters until someone finally hits the Very Specific Info Hook #we have a specific one we're thinking of for this admittedly. its the fun and games of this one set of guys seeming completely normal #canon compliant. fully canon even.#and then theres the hook. and you realize that oh maybe its not fully canon actually #maybe we should draw a comic about this or smth. draft dialogue #much to think about
