tag 10 people you want to get to know better:
tagged by @corasorangejuice thank you so much darling <3
favourite time of year:
I never seem to be able to answer this question since I can't decide between summer and winter! I absolutely love winter - cozy clothes, the snow, drinking a cup of hot cocoa and Christmas and my birthday etc. BUT then again, I adore the warm summer days with a ice cream in hand, the leisure days and just all together good vibes...But maybe I'll go with winter...?
---
comfort foods:
This should be easy! I'll have to go with this Finnish? brand's cheeseburger and fries, and also just basically any good chips and dip. I usually like it more salty than sweet!
---
do you collect anything?:
This might sound a bit weird but memories. Like, movie tickets, diplomas, every piece of paper basically that has any memory within it, gets a place in a folder in a drawer. Then one day I can look at them and think "wow, what a great time I had then". I have a few folders filled up already!
---
favourite drink:
Besides water, these flavoured sparkling waters (from a Finnish brand called "Novelle")! There are quite a few different flavours and they're just all so delicious!
---
favourite music artists:
I listen to all kinds of songs so that's so hard to say...But propably Adele, Michael Buble and a Finnish artist Juha Tapio.
---
current favourite songs:
- anything from the "A New Era" soundtrack
- "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" (by Queen)
- "SloMo" (by Chanel)
- anything from Michael buble
- also almost whatever depressing song I come across bc why not
---
favourite fics:
I will NOT mention all of my favourites since that would take ages, but here are some of my most recent ones!
- "A Midday Moment" and "An Afternoon Moment" and "In the heat of the night" (all written by Vincenzo65 on FF.net)
- "Broken" (written by Splodge04 on FF.net)
- "Wading Through Blood" (written by Chelsie Dagger on FF.net)
- "How To Go About It" (written by TheIronMontage on FF.net)
- anything from the amazing Nathea
- every Chelsie wedding night fic out there <3
There are a ton of others but at the moment these few are some of my favourites that I could keep reading all the time!
******
There's that then! Hopefully my answers were clear enough as I can easily start to ramble 😆 Thank you again @corasorangejuice for tagging me, this was a lot of fun to do!
TAGGING (no pressure if you don't want to do it and sorry if you've been tagged already :)

End of the year favorites 2021!
------------------------------------------
GREETINGS
------------------------------------------
December 19/ 2021
Welcome to the end of the year favorites, this will be the last of the monthly favorites this year!
Thank you for everyone that has found these interesting and have been reading them, it really makes me happy to be able to share some really good stories with all of you.
I know that some of you are actually reading some of my recommendations and I’m happy that you took a chance and discovered something new. I really think that the webtoon manhwa is too new in the market to be anything well known so I want to do my best and promote some of the stories that deserves the recognition.
For my last exam, before I left they had to test me on mental math and that is the last thing you want to do when you’ve had one exam after another with 9 courses...so I was exhausted as you can tell and nearly screamed out loud. Lol. Anyways! I’m donnneeeeee!!!
I finally have my break from school so I will start pumping out new art soon, I can’t believe I didn’t have the slightest time to start anything for 4 months but I tried my best to keep up with writing the monthly favorites, it was the only thing that got me through everything “hard” that had been happening in my life.
It is almost Christmas soon and I still have not gone Christmas shopping for gifts yet! I hope all of you got your shopping done in time for the holidays! This last week will be good for me to hopefully get everything on time. Wish me luck!

Updates on ongoing titles:
The only update I have...because I am stuck and I can’t move on ...LOL.
Pearl boy:
So it finally updated again and um....Kang dooshik, I’m not a simp for anyone but I’ll be your simp forever lol. Remember back half a year ago when I mentioned that he keeps looking better in every chapter...still holds true by the way. He’s literally radiating sexy energy in every chapter...I can’t.
I mean ...look at this hunky man ...damn...
I’m sorry I’ll stop.lol.
This week’s update is going to stick in my mind the entire week, it was so disgustingly sweet, it was all I was thinking about yesterday, dooshik is like a walking juke box playing lyrics from 90’s love songs every time he speaks and I’m here for it!
You can play any slow song for this chapter and you will be so satisfied. Let’s just say some stuff happened and there was a time skip of three months and I noticed that people thought that because of what happened to dooshik, his personality will change and he will probably become violent and cruel. I’m so glad that although he seems more careful when dealing with people now he is still dooshik the dork at his core...meaning his core values and personality still remains the same despite acting and looking more mature now. I love how his core character remains the same and he didn’t become violent and cold when he was able to meet juha again, thank you to the creator for not making him go that route...I swear a lot of characters do a 180 out of nowhere and it throws me off, those characters never stick with me and are often trash in the end regardless of what they do from then on. There was also mention from another character that was spying on dooshik that he had become really scary so I guess most people assume that he became a cold person.
Not that I wouldn’t understand why in his case, but still he is just too good of a character to follow that route, that’s why I’m always boasting about him, it’s cause he is a really well written character that I have not come across in a very long time. He’s been so consistent while other characters just plummet into the abyss of sh*t. I cannot say enough good things about these characters and this series, it’s so well thought out when it comes to character portrayals.
This may be a bit of a spoiler, but um...when he said to juha “undress me yourself ...” and he placed his hands on his chest...ah I started turning red for some reason ...lol. My sister was like what happened to your face? Lmao I don’t know why I felt all the blood rush to my face.
Anyways, degeneracy aside, I know this light-hearted happiness will be short lived so I’ll just enjoy this chapter and next for a while before things take a turn for the worse ...cause it’s pearl boy ...the most anxiety inducing manhwa you’ll ever read.....give it a try!

Welcome to Heaven (21+)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Seeing Double
“Ohn can’t stand men, and he’s determined to stay away from them at all costs. Little does he know that the shy, soft-spoken Seo-woo is crushing on him hard. So hard, in fact, that he’s recruited his more confident twin brother, Jae-woo, to act as his double and approach Ohn. But as Jae-woo starts putting a little too much of his own heart into the act, the line between who’s courting Ohn gets blurred. Will the brothers break through Ohn’s hatred of men? And if so, which twin will be the one to win Ohn’s heart?
I have seen this all over my twitter a while ago and it didn’t really interest me at all. Not only is it a love triangle which I don’t care for but also with twins...I’m like oh boy...this is going to go well.
But I had some time and I actually was able to try this manhwa out...let me just say...I was unexpectedly surprised.
It is about a guy who does not like guys and finds comfort in being around women, it is really funny because I swear there is a similar shojou manga I have read before with a similar plot line but that was a dumpster fire. So basically ohn likes being around women and prefers to be around them versus men. I believe he is a teacher at the school, I thought he was a student but I’m not sure on this part. But he caught the eye of a soft spoken sweet boy named seowoo , whom in the past witnessed ohn being bullied and was inspired by him to stand up for himself and not let others bully them. Hense leading to the ongoing massive crush he has on ohn. Seowoo despite being tall and bulky he is incredibly shy and even if he wanted to be friends with ohn he didn’t know how to approach him. Instead he ropes his twin brother in and asks for his help in pursuing ohn. His brother had interacted with ohn a couple times while going to sports practice and it didn’t go well since he was blunt and harsh and ohn didn’t like guys so there was immediately animosity from him. Jaewoo didn’t really have anything to do so he thought being a good brother would require him to help out his twin so he agreed.
So of course he approached him as “seowoo” and the two of them didn’t get along well at first but that soon wasn’t the case, not because of jaewoo, I think it was because of seowoo. So despite seowoo being shy to approach ohn, he still followed his brother and watch them interact from a distance, probably imagining that if he was more courageous it would be like that..ahh poor baby.
Seowoo was going to leave a drink he bought for ohn at his work desk and just leave but at that time ohn showed up out of nowhere and asked what he was doing and the poor baby froze on the spot.
And while ohn approached he noticed seowoo blushing and turning shy and red for some reason and in that respect made ohn’s expression soften as if he witnessed a different side to “seowoo” this made him interested.
While jaewoo was also getting ohn something to drink he didn’t realize that seowoo had made contact with ohn on his own. After wards jaewoo continued to pretend to be “seowoo” while getting to known ohn, which would be cute if you like the other twin, but I personally like seowoo.
Ohn and jaewoo became good friends and there was one chapter where jaewoo took him to his club activities but ohn was still uncomfortable with men so he hid as soon as a bunch of sweaty guys came into the swimming pool. Seowoo was in the same club and was hiding because jaewoo said ohn was coming and they didn’t want to be caught. But jaewoo went to take a call or something and left ohn by himself and ohn ran into the boys changing room to avoid the other boys. And of course coincidently met seowoo in there...he still thinks this seowoo is “seowoo” and asked where he went and clung onto him because he was scared. Seowoo was taken back and tried his best to comfort ohn with his shy demeanor. Ohn noticed that he was acting different again, but as soon as they talked things just clicked and ohn felt more comfortable being around him since seowoo actually shared his fears of being bullied once by a lot of boys and he understands why ohn would be scared. This is a really defining moment of their relationship because ohn and seowoo were being honest with each other and sharing personal things.
Later ohn and seowoo met a couple more times and even drank together, jaewoo of course was also starting to catch feelings for ohn while hanging out with him, and eventually still had to play “seowoo” because there can’t be two seowoos. But I forgot to mention that everyone knows the twins, ohn knows jaewoo had a twin...so when jaewoo disguised as “seowoo” and approached him he thought he was the other brother, but it was just jaewoo. I hope that makes sense...I know it’s freaken confusing as sh*t.
Later on seowoo wanted to fight for ohn’s affection in his own way because his brother was being an absolute dick and tried ruining things for seowoo. So he courageously went to go meet with ohn to go see a movie together and even kissed him. It was really cute not going to lie. Of course jaewoo isn’t giving up so more drama between the two siblings led to seowoo needing to be introduced as “jaewoo” because he didn’t want to leave the real jaewoo and ohn to be alone together. Even when “seowoo” was there and they had a thing, ohn kept paying attention to “jaewoo” and wondered why he was looking at the other brother all the time, the real jaewoo noticed this and started to be concerned.
Well some things happened and seowoo , jaewoo and ohn had a sleep over in which ohn having wet dream about seowoo , which made him act impulsively and actually kissing jaewoo while being half asleep...but remember that jaewoo is being “seowoo” so when seowoo actually came out the bathroom to see that... this broke my poor baby’s heart, and to be honest it was really scumy of jaewoo...cause he was like I tld you he liked me...bull sh*t I’m like wtf ...he’s your brother, there are lines you shouldn’t cross, unless you are a dick, which he is ...so whatever. In the end they were both caught red handed while the twins were fighting, ohn over heard them and they were exposed. That’s where season 1 left off, If you want my opinion I believe in the end seowoo and ohn will be together, just cause of all the hints that are pointing to seowoo as the person ohn was most interested in. Even without knowing that he was talking to the real seowoo, he really showed him a lot of his vulnerability and seeing seowoo become this shy and sweet guy while they interact makes him feel really comfortable around him. So I am somewhat convinced seowoo and ohn as the end game, but you know the author can just pull a 180 like most authors like to do...in that case I’d be disappointed cause I’m sick of all these rude ass protagonists winning, they suck. I also thought that twins were supposed to be in sync and have a stronger bond than most siblings, but I guess not.
Give this a read, if you like my other suggestions you will probably like this one. You can read this on lezhin.
2) Dear door
“After the loss of his fiancée, police officer Kyungjoon resigned himself to a life of watering his house plants and catching two-bit criminals. But after a police investigation into a mysterious cult goes supernatural, he finds himself face-to-face with “Lord Cain,” a demon king in desperate need of mana in order to survive. Good news: Kyungjoon’s body serves as a “door” through which Cain can enter Hell and restore his mana. Bad news: the method of opening that door is… not so safe for work...”
This manhwa’s art style is really interesting, it has that shounen manga type of animation that you wouldn’t think you’d be reading BL. It started off with a cop named kyungjoon investigating a bunch of murders happening around the area that was raising concerns among the public and the officers.
Kyungjoon had lost his fiancé a while ago and was left with only her memories and a house that was completely empty. While tending the plants that his fiancé left behind on a stormy night he met a creature that rushed into his apartment and threatened to kill him if he doesn’t cooperate.
The creature was the lord of the underworld named “cain” and he was looking for a way to restore his magic so he can go back into the underworld. He set his sights on kyungjoon and made him his “door” to go back to hell. at first he only served as a way to get back to hell, and the only way to do that was to um....have sex with him until he...ah...you know...
Manhwa authors...wtf is going on in your head sometimes? Anyways, that’s the way it is supposed to happen and cain really didn’t care much for kyungjoon until later when kyungjoon wanted the mystery murders to stop and cain may know of a lead and in exchange for that information cain can go to and from hell whenever. It was strictly business until kyungjoon made it a point that cain could be more gentle when they are together instead of rushing into things and so he took that suggestion and let’s just say kyungjoon liked it very much while cain was gentle and started making out with him.
Cain didn’t understand what he was feeling but he knew he liked being with kyungjoon, but later on kyungjoon was being put in danger since people were after cain and so cain had to leave him, and this made kyungjoon really upset since his fiance died he had nothing to fill that space, when cain showed up it was like he was whole again. This shows that people deal with loss in different ways and some people can stay hurt forever and not forgive themselves, or you can find that strength to move on somehow and kyungjoon was not doing so well after his fiancé died, not even his closest friend could be there for him. But kyungjoon is a character that isn’t like the damsel in distress type and actually puts up a fight.
I think that is what i like the most about this story.
But those sex scenes...lmao they are like a damn shounen manga fight, so intense, I’m like wtf am I reading right now? It is really action packed though, every panel is very intense.
I’ve only just started this so i don’t really have that much to say about it except the romance between cain and kyungjoon are really cute and endearing. Especially since cain is a creature that doesn’t understand what love is but he feels happy when he is with kyungjoon. And just watching him try to sort out his feelings is really funny. I think this is a manhwa that portrays comedy and sadness really well.
Please give this a read if you like action BL...i guess. Lol. You can read this on tapas.

Trash segment (21+)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
a.k.a the part of the series where I shit on your favorite manhwa/manga/webtoon etc. Joking but not really, you have been warned.
This is the new section where you’re going to find titles that I dropped and the reasons why I discontinued the series all together, fair warning if you triggered by people criticizing your favorite series then you may want to skip this section all together. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and not every series that is “popular” or well liked by others will be like by all...therefore if there is content that makes a person uncomfortable enough to stop the series, that is on them and please don’t judge them for their morals.
So to recap, the series that I mentioned dropping so far are
Love or Hate
Yours to claim
Wistful summer
Anti-p.t.
The sound of fire
Kiss damnation
Cherry blossoms after the winter
Chasing Mr. CEO
Okay, I do have one to share but let me just say I’m not going to drop it yet...but this one scene bothered me quite a lot and I want to rant about it...
Passion
“The shadow of the genius Jeong Jae-ui of the century, who said that even his luck smiled at him, and the twin, Jeong Tae-eui, were extremely ordinary soldiers except for sexual orientation. After being discharged from the military due to an injustice, one day, his uncle Jeong Chang-in made an invitation rather than a recommendation to him, who was enjoying his life as an unemployed person. Jung Tae-eui, who has been assigned to the Asian branch of UNHRDO Jung, who has been working as an agent for half a year at UNHRDO, the United Nations Human Resource Development Organization, which his uncle has in his body, adapts to UNHRDO without difficulty with his unique knuckle and positive personality in an unfamiliar environment. , Having a flirtatious encounter with his ideal type,'Ling Shinru', leads his own happy life. One day, Jung Tae-eui, who was idle in his uncle's accommodation, unexpectedly receives a call from his uncle, and encounters Ilay Riglow, a man with fine hands on the screen.”
If you know this manhwa then you know that there is a particular scene in which one of the main protagonists has this boyfriend and that dude was caught having sex with that protagonist’s rival. I need to start using names because none of that would make sense, but I’ll wait to talk about it later either as a dropped series or a fav series depending on how this ends.
But that scene bothered me because if you caught your boyfriend/girlfriend sleeping with another person you would not just walk away and not say anything, it could be that he was too shocked to really say anything...but that rival dude was like looking at him as if saying “yeah you caught us...what are going to do about it?”
This could just be because I’m petty but I would go right inside that room and expose them. Tell that rival dude “you can have that SOB...I’m done with him” perfect way to break it off with your cheating ex and embarrass him and the rival. Cause I would not be satisfied with walking away and ignoring what I just saw...lol. So that part infuriated me a lot. Also both the dudes that were having sex didn’t even like each other, the dumb boyfriend and rival both liked the protagonist, they were just trying to keep the other away from the protagonist..by sleeping with each other as a trade off...I’m like what is the point? You should just pursue him instead of doing all this shit. Shake my head ...I don’t get it.lol. It was a good series up until this point and now I’m on the verge of chucking this away in the trash pile.
While some people argue that they aren’t official so it doesn’t matter if he has sex with another dude or not, well they are seeing each other and even so what makes a couple official just saying they like each other? Having sex ?
Doesn’t matter...they have something with each other and if I was seeing them then I would assume that we are together. I would still be upset if they slept with another person while seeing me...that’s still cheating.
How is this even an argument with people? I don’t get it.
side note, also thinking of dropping secret relationships...I don’t like where its going right now, ugh i can’t deal with how messed up these people are.lol.
I didn’t start another anime but I got my friend into watching death note.lol. I was surprised she like it a lot. She does not watch anime at all but I showed her death note while we were having our paint night and she is almost finished now.
Always show death note as a gateway anime...this proves it works.lol.
None

This Month’s Reads: January
In an effort to remember more of what I read, I’ve decided to track properly this year and record my thoughts in brief. Thus, here are This Month’s Reads.
highlights: I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, The Ghost Bride, They Both Die at the End, and a lot of comics
[image description: the covers for the books listed below]
Heart of Gold vol 1 (Eli Baum & Viv Tanner) Dunant is a faith healer. Ionel is a pianist losing his sight. Every week Ionel attends Mass hoping to be cured, but Dunant turns him away. Meanwhile, a series of strange deaths casts a shadow over this gorgeously illustrated tale.
While not much especially romantic occurs, our two leads are clearly leaning on the edge of something. Ionel is intrigued by the priest, both due to his own needs and Dunant’s lonely aura. Dunant confesses his innermost doubts to Ionel inadvertently, leading to some interesting discussions of faith. Those discussions and the art’s tender beauty were the highlights for me. The pacing was slow for my tastes and some scenes felt like they could’ve been edited or cut to avoid repetition.
*
I Hear the Sunspot vol 1-3 (Yuki Fumino, translator: Stephen Kohler)/ A brash college student named Taichi meets fellow student Kouhei by chance. Kouhei’s good looks attract attention, but he feels isolated due to his hearing loss. Taichi begins taking notes for Kouhei in exchange for lunch and a slow burn romance ensues.
This is one of my favorite manga from recent years, so I always reread the previous volumes when a new one comes out. Truly, the series improves with each volume. With the expanding cast, the mangaka explores different perspectives on and experiences with deafness. Volume 3 introduces Ryu, who is Deaf and lives life quite happily without hearing-- in contrast to Kouhei, who fears losing his remaining hearing.
[image description: the covers for the books listed below]
Little Women (Louisa May Alcott) I read Little Women for the first time during a young adult literature class in college. I must confess that I remembered very little of the plot, so reading it again was like starting entirely new. I forgot how funny it can be! The moral lessons for the most part still apply today, though I disagreed somewhat with a few of them.
The most intriguing and frustrating thing for me is Jo March, who reads to me as very much queer, though what flavor is debatable. My personal interpretation (and I’ll admit that I’m projecting) is that Jo is transmasculine and somewhere on the ace spectrum. And, personally, I believe the author was some flavor of queer as well.
*
Only the Ring Finger Knows (Satoru Kannagi & Hotaru Odagiri, translator: Sachiko Sato) This month’s BL LookBack!
*
Versailles of the Dead vol 1 (Kumiko Suekane, translator: Jocelyne Allen) I know very little about French history, so I have no idea how faithful this tale is to actual events. However, I don’t think the actual Marie Antoinette was her twin brother, possibly possessed by a demon. Likewise, I’m quite certain there were no zombies rampaging France.
Usually zombie stories and historical dramas don’t interest me. But I have a weakness for crossdressing plots, despite them usually being problematic. Surprisingly, this registered fairly low on the problematic scale-- so far. And while I wasn’t exactly riveted, it was compelling enough to persuade me to preorder the second volume. I hope this receives an anime adaptation because it could be quite spooky under the right director.
*
Coyote vol 1 (Ranmaru Zariya, translator: Christine Dashiell) It took me several attempts to finish this BL because the first chapter put me off. As expected of “werewolf in heat” erotica, there’s some dubious consent issues. However, once I finally got past that first chapter, the dramatic plot lured me in.
Werewolves are half-forgotten by the general populace, but certain groups still hold a grudge against them-- including the Galland mafia family, which our human lead “Marleen” is set to take over soon despite personally having no issue with werewolves. Meanwhile, our werewolf lead Coyote accepts a job to kill the Galland heir, not realizing it’s the very man he’s fallen in love with. Overall, the story has its fair share of objectionable issues, but I’m compelled enough to keep reading for now.
[image description: the covers for the books listed below]
I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer (Michelle McNamara) I think that if a person were going to only read one true crime book ever, this one would be a good pick. The actual true crime element of the book is great. The writer excels at bringing the people to life-- the victims, the cops, the witnesses, even the unknown killer. She has a real knack for adding just enough evocative detail to paint a picture without sensationalizing.
However, what I find most compelling is how thoughtfully she examines her own motivations and actions-- and thus those of the reader as well. What is it about true crime that attracts people? And how can we pick apart these real life tragedies while respecting human life?
*
The Prince and the Dressmaker (Jen Wang) Frances is a seamstress working hard for a pittance and dreaming of grander things. Her designs catch the attention of Prince Sebastian, who is in need of both a dressmaker and a secretkeeper. The two become friends, often making a splash around town with Sebastian dressed up as the glamorous Lady Crystallia. However, some secrets can’t be kept forever.
This comic has been on my to-read list for a while based solely on the cute cover and title. It was indeed cute (I especially loved the comedic off-model panels) but the story went deeper and was more rewarding than I anticipated. However, content warning for a character being outed in a humiliating manner; it’s more intense than you might expect for comic like this.
*
Life Outside the Circle (H-P Lehkonen) Artist Sami leaves big city Helsinki for remote, rural Finland. There he meets his new neighbor Juha and Juha’s young daughter Maiju. Culture shock and romance ensues.
I had the good fortune to meet the cartoonist at TCAF 2018. I enjoyed the book I picked up from him there, as well as the queer Finnish comics panel he moderated. So I figured I’d check out more of his work and he didn’t disappoint-- this comic had plenty of genuine humor, heart-warming moments, and realistic angst. I especially appreciate the blasé approach to Sami being transgender; it’s just one of his traits and while it does influence some things in the story, overall it’s not that important.
*
The Ghost Bride (Yangsze Choo) An early contender for favorite book of 2019 appears! This book has it all: romance, spooky thrills, adventures in other realms, wit, plenty of food, and an upcoming Netflix miniseries!
Our hero is Li Lan, who has attracted the unwanted romantic attention of local rich boy Lim Tian Ching. Not only is he rude and selfish, he’s also dead! As Li Lan struggles to ward off Lim Tian Ching’s invasive spirit, she becomes more and more drawn into the world of the ghosts-- as well as the secrets of the Lim family and her own. I loved all the rich detail, both for the real life historical setting and the fantasy settings. Highly recommended and I’m very excited for the TV series as well.
[image description: the covers for the books listed below]
Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun vol 10 (Izumi Tsubaki, translator: Leighann Harvey) Another volume of Nozaki-kun, another plea from me for another season of the anime, please! Not to say that the manga isn’t good-- it’s great-- but this is a case of the anime being better, in my opinion.
Anyway, the rom-com misadventures of Nozaki, Chiyo, and the crew continues. Relationship development continues to be slow, which is no issue for me since that’s hardly what I’m reading for. (That said, Kashima and Hori seem like they might be on the verge of becoming a couple? Maybe?) Since I read Nozaki as aroace, I’m pleased to report that he remains as aroace-seeming as ever. Poor Chiyo, however, is crushing on him harder than before, to the extent that it’s starting to become kind of creepy.
*
The Other Dress (Emmy Engberts) This month’s transreading!
*
They Both Die at the End (Adam Silvera) I’m well aware that I’m in the minority here, but I actually enjoy reading major character death when it’s done well. “Enjoy” might be the wrong word; what I mean to say is that I appreciate the experience of being moved so powerfully by a work of fiction.
My main concern going into They Both Die at the End was that the deaths would feel cheap. After we get to know the main characters (who are young and healthy) so well and they’ve been through so much together, what kind of death could possibly feel authentic and “worth it” to the reader? I won’t spoil the end for anyone, but I thought the author came through strongly. Thoughtful and emotional with intriguing world building.

You're Not As Safe As You Think. Serial Killers Are Roaming The Streets Right Now.
When the cops catch a serial killer, the best thought that can go through your head is, “Well, at least they caught them and they won’t be out roaming the streets anymore.” Our loved ones are safe from murderers once those criminals are behind bars, right? Well, after a period of years, a lot of times those killers are let out of prison. It might not make sense to most people, but the system is complicated. Maybe we aren’t as safe as we think…
1.) Genene Jones
thestir
Genene Jones was a Pediatric nurse who is believed to have murdered upwards of 60 infants. While working as a nurse, Jones would inject the infants with a series of chemicals in order to save them so she could look like a hero to the parents. Unfortunately, she rarely, if ever, saved the infants she was poisoning. She is set to be released from prison in 2018 for good behavior.
2.) Issei Sagawa
cnn
Sagawa was always worried about being too ugly and too nerdy to be successful. So instead of earning confidence through self help books, what he decided to do was invite a female classmate over, shoot her in the neck, and eat her for two days in order to “absorb her energy.” He was put in a mental institution in France where they then expedited him to Japan where he was declared sane and set free.
3.) Juha Valjakkala
dn
Mr. Valjakkala (do any of these people have normal names?) stole a bike in 1992. Not so serious, right? Well, when the owner of the bike and his son chase him down, Valjakkala shot and killed the 2 men, doubled back and killed the man’s wife. While in prison, he escaped 4 times and 19 years into his life sentence was released on parole. Shortly after, he was caught stealing a car and thrown back into jail only to be released a year later.
4.) Karla Homolka
theglobeandmail
This Canadian killer was part of a murderous duo with her husband. Her husband was infatuated with her sister, Tammy, so Karla would drug her sister and let her husband have sex with her unconscious body. One day, Karla accidentally made her sister OD. She died choking on her own vomit. They continued their murderous ways for a few more victims before finally getting caught. Karla then convinced the judge that she was just an innocent party in the killing spree and that her husband was the mastermind behind the plan. Her husband was sentenced to life in jail and Karla got 15 years. She was released in 2005 and now lives in Guadeloupe with a husband and three kids.
5.) Mary Bell
dailymailuk
Mary Bell (hey, a normal name) murdered 2 people in cold blood before she even became an adult. One day before her 11th birthday, Bell strangled a 4 year old boy in an abandoned house and enlisted the help of a friend to murder a second boy. She also strangled this three year old, carved letters into his body, cut off some of his hair, and mutilated his genitals. Mary spent 12 years in prison and was released when she was 23. She now has grandchildren.
6.) Arnfinn Nesset
adres
Arfinn Nesset was a nurse at hospices in Norway. He is believed to have killed hundreds of patients with muscle relaxers but only was convicted of murdering 22 people. At the time in Norway the maximum sentence that could be given was 21 years. He served his time and is now a free man living in an undisclosed location.
7.) Louis Van Schoor
steelturman
Van Schoor, an ex-cop, would wait for silent alarms at businesses to be enacted, drive to the business and shoot the intruders with his pistol. He is believed to have killed 39 people, but was only convicted of 7 murders and 2 attempted murders. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail and was released after 12.
8.) Nikolai Dzhumagaliev
youtube
Nikolai Dzhumagaliev had a nickname, “Metal Fang” because of his false teeth that were made of metal. He is believed to have murdered 7 women… and he even ATE some of them. Once he was caught, he was only convicted to a year in jail because he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Once released, he held a party for his friends and during the party, killed one of the guests and began dismembering them in front of the other partygoers, who fled immediately. When the cops arrived they were so shocked that Dzhumagaliev was able to escape only to be arrested the next day. Due to his previous mental instability he was only sentenced to 8 years in prison and is now a free man.
9.) Gagliano
dailymailuk
This man is currently serving time, so he is not technically a free man BUT! he is on this list because he has been able to escape prisons quite frequently. He was originally put away for murdering a prostitute and injuring another. While in captivity, he escaped and murdered two more people. He then was issued a 2 day good behavior pass so he could visit his sick mother. When he didn’t return after his 2 days were up, a country-wide manhunt for him began and he was captured after he shot his girlfriend in the chin. He has escaped a total of 6 times.
10.) Pedro Lopez
tumblr
300 murders. Pedro Lopez preyed on young women in Columbia, Peru, and Ecuador. It seemed super farfetched to believe that one man was responsible for the deaths of so many people, so the police actually had a hard time believing him when he initially confessed to the crimes. That is until a flood revealed a mass grave where he stored many of the bodies. He (for some reason) was only sentenced to 18 years in prison and now walks the streets.
The next time you are walking down the street thinking everything is safe, just remember that these madmen are on the loose. Keep your eyes peeled and your head on a swivel. You never know who is out there, folks.

Plant dairy #1
Hello!
I dont know how many of you guys are into plants but I thought this was a good way to document my plant journey since I have been collecting them for about a year and a couple months now.
My most recent purchase is my ric rac cactus , which I got last saturday, lol so its like a week old. I have 9 plants so far and three have died otherwise I'd have 12.
I have a list of some of some of the plants I want to try and get this season and have 12 plants again.
So for all the plant lovers I'll introduce you to my children!
Heart leaf philodendron:
I had this for 6 months now and its grown to the point where I had to wrap the leaves on a pole. So it grows really well and it is one of my easy plants to take care of
Golden pothos:
this is the basic plant that everyone has, mine however is growing very slowly and I tried repotting it recently to see if anything changes, I've also had this for 6 months. It is really easy to take care of but maybe I'm doing it wrong.lol.
Peperomia obtusefolia varigated:
got this 3 months ago, it's doing okay the soil feels really thick though so it might not be draining very well, might have to repot at some point, but it is easy to maintain.
Jade plant:
I dont remember when I got this but it is sturdy and you dont need to water it often since it's a succulent.
Peperomia obtusefolia lemon...something :
I dont remember the specific name but it is the first plant I have I had this over 2 years now and it has gone through so much, it had spider mites and went through chlorosis and now its recovering. Lol. This plant is a tough mofo.
Ric rac cactus:
got this recently from a local plant shop and it's really well taken care of, its looks shiny and healthy and I guess that is why the price was so high for it even though it was just a 4" pot. I hope it grows well and not die.
Ficus ginseng bonsai:
This plant came to me looking healthy and the next day started turning the leaves brown, I read up on it and people think its root rot so I had to quickly remove it from its pot and repot it into another vessel. It still shed leaves after, guess it was acclimating to my room. I am in the process of recovering it at the moment and it's going well, there are new leaves forming.
String of hearts: aka Sora
I wanted this for a while and I was told that it was in demand this season so that is why its priced really high but I guess I wasn't careful and picked a basket that dint have too many hearts. So at the moment I'm trying soil propagation on a few leaves to see if I can make it full. I named this plant sora after sora from kingdom hearts lol.
String of Pearl's : aka juha
I got this at the same time I got the string of hearts, but again i should have waited to compare prices and probably would get a fuller basket than the one I chose, but I was impatient. I also wanted the variegated form but of course it is whatever available this season. I'm not going to lie I wanted this plant because I wanted to name my string of pearls after juha form pearl boy....lol the simp in me wins again. 😅
So that is all I have for the first entry. I hope to update this in the future, this a good way for me to keep track of thier growth.
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Sheena
