Idk if the other anon explained it but basically, the writers did a sort of QA thing on Twitter and one of the answers went into how Louis deliberately doesn't say "I love you" to Lestat, and I quote "We’ve found it interesting how much Louis uses the leverage of withholding. There is a subtle weaponization of language & the bluntest weapon is omission." and some fans took this to mean that they're a) blaming Louis for his situation with Lestat, and b) giving ammo to fans who want to blame him for this. Personally I thought the answer was fine enough because Louis omits a lot of stuff even when he isn't with Lestat, like in the present, and isn't only about Lestat but about Claudia as well. But also, if you as a fan want to take this answer as specifically regarding Lestat, you could still say Louis withheld giving him any answers as a way to "fight back" against Lestat.

nothing good ever comes from twitter literally infested with knuckledragging losers anyway...this is a well known trait of louis. like the entire show he keeps the audience guessing whether he genuinely loved lestat, like he constructs entire scenes just to avoid revealing he did in fact love him. he occluded the romance! hes a withholder! he likes trapping men in loveless marriages!

the answer was innocuous factual and to the point. whatever they extrapolated from that just goes to show where their own biases lie. i think they're bored and just want to bitch about something... coz the show is there go back to the show and watch daniel say 'he only hit me the one time officer classic case of stockholm'. so why are they bringing their intrafandom bs to the writers who wrote those lines. its baffling. i think the writers should minimize interacting with these fans. *cups hands and bellows* fourth wall fourth wall fourth wall and a fifth and a sixth!
