This has been on my mind for a while but I know I'm not the only Whovian who hates the outfits Tegan and Nyssa were lumbered with in season 20 onwards. Most of the remit for them seems to have been "show as much skin as possible so the dads watching can leer at the actors" (they both, along with Peri, got the brunt of these awful costumes).
So, to rectify that (and inspired by @timelordian-disaster-126 's awesome artwork), here are some suggestions for outfit ideas for Tegan and Nyssa that I think would be fun.
Nyssa would probably like dungarees, so a pair of linen or corduroy dungarees are a good idea. Paired with a polka-dot or funky patterned shirt. Bonus points if Nyssa starts adding scientific instruments into the pockets. A pair of sturdy boots (either with a stack heel or no heel) would complement it nicely, plus a long raincoat (think Ms Frizzle by way of the Thirteenth Doctor).
Tegan's season 20 outfit is hated by all of us (Janet Fielding especially) so literally anything would be better. In which case, I think practicality is the best bet for our favourite Australian so a pair of jeans, t-shirt (preferably a plain colour like white or light blue but could be purple to reference the flight attendant uniform) and a plaid shirt (maybe red or a dark blue). It is Important that the plaid shirt be rolled up to the elbows. A leather jacket to complete the outfit but (if cold) could be switched out with a thick woodsman jacket. For footwear, either a pair of sturdy trainers or a good pair of Doc Martins.
Nyssa wearing a roll-neck jumper with a pair of black dungarees (sort-of a reference to her jumpsuit in season 19, but with more of a individual spin on it). Perhaps accesorised with a necklace or some pens stuck into the dungaree front pockets.
If Tegan wants more of a femme-inspired look, perhaps a long skirt with a blue-and-white striped t-shirt (either long or short sleeved). She can also wear a pair of leggings underneath, combined with some nice tennis shoes in a complimenting colour.
Nyssa in a shirt, trousers and waistcoat would be fun, perhaps accesorised with a pocket-watch on a chain. Perhaps with a boater-hat (maybe she found Romana's old one whilst rooting in the TARDIS wardrobe?). She can have a neck-tie (either done up or loosened) or go without, depending on the situation.
Dunno if it's practical for Tegan to wear a tuxedo, but maybe some sort of shirt, trousers and jacket combo. It would work well with her shorter hair in season 20, as well.
Those are my ideas, but what do you all think? Please let me know what ideas you have. :)

SENSES AND OTHER ODDLY SPECIFIC HEADCANONS TAGGED BY: @youhavemyrespect TAGGING: free for all :))))
1. WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE:
Chalk, sage, cigarette smoke, lime and juniper (when he’s been drinking, mostly), but also something deeper and more primal to those who can sense it. Ozone and old temples, dragon’s blood and freshly turned earth. Generally considered his magic reek, becomes heightened during certain times of the year but especially around Halloween. Many that can smell it have called it utterly intoxicating.
2. WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE’S HANDS FEEL LIKE:
Soft and warm, slightly calloused at the fingers tips and sides of knuckles from drawing for hours at a time some days. Overall, they’re very nice. He hasn’t worked a conventional job in his life so he avoided wear and tear from compulsory handwashing and general labor.
3. WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY EAT IN A DAY:
It depends, honestly. John can’t cook and usually eats out or orders in. He has a preference toward Indian and other Asian cuisines. John doesn’t eat much meat, but it’s not a hard or first rule. If he has the luxury not to, you know? I truly can’t go into any specifics or regularities because he doesn’t take care of himself and doesn’t have any regular eating patterns from day to day. Sometime he’ll wake up get breakfast, maybe swing by the store and buy hummus and pita for lunch, and treat himself to some vindaloo in the evening, and spend the night at a local pub. Other days he’ll barely eat if at all. Realize two days late that he’s famished. He’s a mess, honestly.
4. DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE A GOOD SINGING VOICE:
Depends on who you ask. John doesn’t have much of an opinion on it, and generally thinks it sucks. Personally, I feel it’s more knee-jerk sefl-deprecation. ‘Nah, mate, I was shite.’ Peronally in my head he tends to sound like Dave Vanien and maybe later in life closer to Nick Cave. Because I love my deep voiced spooky boys with the sonorous voices singing from the depths of their graves.
5. DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY BAD HABITS OR NERVOUS TICKS:
He smokes like a chimney but aside from that, I feel like there’s a certain eeriness to his composure and stillness. Years of dealing with creatures that are painfully powerful, terrible monsters, cruel, bitter gods, has made him highly accustomed to schooling his body language and features to convey both neutrality and a kind of cocksure confidence as though to say ‘I fucking dare you’ as he banks on a reputation both earned and built upon hyperbolic rumours.
6: WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY LOOK LIKE / WEAR:
Dark suit (either black or dark blue), tie (properly cinched, ta so very much), usually solid colours, though occasionally red and white striped, white button down or some other pale colour like blue or pink, dark oxfords flats, usually a bit worse for wear, tan trench coat/raincoat, sometimes a black, shorter coat that might be vinyl? (Idek Sean Murphy draws him in this coat and the colouring has the visual coding of a shiny fabric, and it kiiiiinda fits with my vegetarian head canon so idek). Messy hair, frequently stubbled jaw, but I don’t think he’s...slovenly. It’s very trendy now to portray John with a perpetual five o’ clock shadow, but if you refer to the art in the Vertigo series, he’s predominately drawn clean shaven so. I mean. *gestures* Although, I’ll also freely imagine him to one of those guys that has a fast growing beard like he should probably shave a couple times a day.
7. IS YOUR MUSE AFFECTIONATE? HOW MUCH? HOW SO:
Yeah, but it’s a thing that he’s had to struggle with over the years. He grew up with very little affection. Like, yes, Cheryl did what she could, but I think as he grew older, and started acting out more, not to mention her leaving home first being considerably older than John, I think he could be hard to love and frankly still is. So he’s terribly affection hungry and I do believe his promiscuity is part of it. Like, listen, he’s a handsome, charming man, and for him it’s easier to connect with his sexuality more than vulnerable sincerity. Not to say he isn’t ever able to emotionally connect. I think that comes part and parcel just as well. Hey, have I mentioned he’s a mess. He’s just the mess of contradictions in so many ways. He’s guarded, he’s vulnerable, he’s lonely, he’s a loner, he’s hard, but deeply empathetic and kind (I said what I said). All that being said when he is close to someone, when they are intimate, and it’s deep and loving, then oh yes, he is extremely affectionate.
8. WHAT POSITION DOES YOUR MUSE SLEEP IN:
Side or back, when with someone, he usually sleeps tucked up against them as some kinda spoon.
9: COULD YOU HEAR YOUR MUSE IN THE HALLWAY FROM ANOTHER ROOM:
Depends on if he wants to be heard.

Mob Psycho 100 II - Kameda Yoshimichi’s Character Design Notes
With each blu-ray/DVD volume of MP100 II Character Designer Kameda Yoshimichi gives some notes regarding his process designing each character. Here are all his notes for S2 in the order they are presented, regarding; Shinra Banshoumaru, Emi, Mogami Keiji, Joudou Kirin, Asagiri Minori, The Urban Legends, Shimazaki Ryou, Hatori Nozomu, Minegishi Toshiki, Shibata Hiroshi, Suzuki Touichirou & Serizawa Katsuya.
SHINRA BANSHOUMARU
My highly recommended character from season 2, Shinrin Maruo! … that’s not his name, it’s Shinra Banshoumaru!! I super, super love Shinra to the point where it’s unbearable, and I even put him into season 1!!! Do you know where, though? These lovable, chubby characters - they’re lacking in recent anime, but I figured I’m in the position to change that!! I made him bigger than he is in the manga and upon drawing his rough design, Director Tachikawa told me I was going too far and had me draw a retake. I was like a bulldozer - ‘That’s so stupid!’ - so I managed to save his nice body (laughs).
After episode 2 he doesn’t appear at all, but please be sure to love Shinrin!!! How about a spin-off!? “Shinrin Psycho 100”, how’s that!?!?!? Ah, Shinra, actually. Sorry.
EMI
The amount of people who wanted to see this story animated!!!! Since it usually ranks either first or second place in polls that assess the most popular story in the Mob Psycho 100 manga, we figured we’d have season 2 start with it, and since it’s such a popular part, there was an agreement that I’d be animation director for it! Which I was enthusiastic about, until - huh? Episode 2 has Shinra Banshoumaru? Then, I’ll do episode 2! And with that, I left episode 1 in the hands of Yoshida-san! It’s a story with drama at its heart, and that’s what Yoshida-san specialises in, so I was happy with that!!! I’m pleased with Emi-chan’s hair colour. I made it a caramel-pink. My type 100%.
MOGAMI KEIJI
Truth is, work on Mob Psycho 100 II began from Episode 5. Because of that, the first of the fresh new characters to be drawn was Mogami. Just before getting to work on Mob Psycho 100 II I’d been working on something else where the proportions are quite short, so I kept in mind that I had to make sure that didn’t affect my designs here - as a result, for the first rough draft for Mogami, I had him with full on shoulder pads so he’d look taller, in a Saeba Ryou kinda vibe (laughs). Well, maybe not as far as Saeba Ryou. As expected, following a check with the director I was told the balance of his body isn’t Mob Psycho-ish! And now his design is as it is. And yet… maybe it would’ve been nice to have his shoulders be raised, just a little?? In the manga he’s quite a handsome man, but my Mogami isn’t that handsome… that’s regrettable.
JOUDOU KIRIN
I have Joudou-sensei wear a kesa [Buddhist priest’s robe] in the anime - it’s pretty cute, isn’t it? Something I paid attention to was the lines from where his kesa ends to his tip toes! He appears in episodes 4-7 and more so than Mogami does, but he’s fun to draw. His deformation in episode 4 was super funny, so we included more of those (laughs). However, the wrinkles on his forehead and his hair barcode are a bit of trouble, and he’s got three rosaries on, and vertical stripes on his kesa… a lot of lines, and animating all those lines is a delicate matter. Also, he has huge eyes. They must get dry easily, I’m sure that’s tough for him.
ASAGIRI MINORI
We get three design variations for Minori - the one in the bed, the one that’s possessed by Mogami, and the one wearing Salt Middle School’s sailor uniform. Her chipped nails while she’s lying in the bed are an anime original. I wanted something in her design that’d counter her cute face. Above everything, what stands out in her design is her hair colour!!!! Her final design has her with purple hair, but at first I imagined her with a cute pink, like Minky Momo-chan. However, the pink hair didn’t really match with her skin colour and overall ghastliness when she’s possessed by Mogami, so after a revision, I went for purple. The way she is now… well, she’s cute, but I think pink hair would’ve been reeeeeeally cute! There’s not many illustrations in the manga where the characters are given colour, so it was very fun getting to choose colours for the anime!
URBAN LEGENDS
With the characters that appear in the Urban Legend Arc, it was super fun to envision how they might move around, and what details to add and/or remove!! Regarding Wriggle Wriggle from episode 1, in order to give a sense of scale in comparing its height with Mob’s, on its character sheet I drew it with an extreme use of perspective. An angle similar to that image gets used in the anime.
In episode 2, Red Raincoat is as he is in the manga, but The Dragger dragging her dolls behind her is an original design. I gave the three dolls she drags a sense of individuality & a ghastly feel, then thought about wetting her clothes and skirt with mud and rain, deciding to make her simple. The dragger has very long hair, which appeals to my 80s-anime-loving taste. I guess when it comes to original designs I always drag out something that I’ve been stocking in my own drawers (laughs).
On the other hand, with Dash Granny all we see of her is her running blurry form, so even on her character sheet her references are all smeared - kinda like me declaring, ‘right, I’m the animation director for episode 2, so let me handle drawing the granny.’ (Laughs).
Season 2 is filled with a lot of deep stories, so if we get to continue the Mob Psycho 100 anime, I’d like for us to do more light-hearted stories where cases related to urban legends are solved like this!!
SHIMAZAKI RYOU
The member of the Ultimate Five who gets the most time in the spotlight, Shimazaki - easy to draw, isn’t he?? His eyes are lines, the corners of his mouth are a little lifted - just draw that and there you go! Shimazaki! He fights with Teru-kun twice - episodes 9 and 11 - but I’ve been told that the jersey Teru-kun wears from episode 10 onwards is quite perplexing (laughs). In the manga it’s a black jersey… of course I know that. It’s just… he fights Shimazaki, who has a black colour scheme, and then Mob and Sakurai also have black colour schemes… Suzuki is more or less the same, as is Koyama, so to say. Way too many characters with a black colour scheme. Having all these characters with black colour schemes in one scene? That’s a No, Thanks from me. With all that blackness, you wouldn’t be able to understand who’s who!!!!!! Huh? You’d understand because Teru is blonde? W-well...
HATORI NOZOMU
You noticed, right? Hatori’s very cute pigeon [hato] crest!! A crest I highly recommend! … and yet, Hatori doesn’t appear much, does he… plus, the pigeon really didn’t stand out at all either (laughs). As much as I could, I’d leave the style of clothing that each character wears in the manga more or less the same for their anime design, then apply colour, then add a design that matches the character - designing their clothes was fun! Teru-kun’s jersey has a seagull, and Koyama’s hoodie has a spiral-like design - I think it’d be fun to search for these designs!! Actually, why does Teru-kun’s jersey have a seagull on it, you might ask?? Well, flip the seagull upside down… and you get someone standing… pigeon toed!
MINEGISHI TOSHIKI
I felt like the kinds of plants Minegishi manipulates would be of a carnivorous nature, so I ended up learning a lot of stuff when I was doing research! When thinking of carnivorous plants, what immediately springs to mind is Rafflesia! Even when reading illustrated encyclopaedias as a kid, I thought Rafflesia plants looked pretty scary. I’d read something about ‘man-eating plants’ and thought to myself, man, I want that to be about Rafflesia - I looked it up and it was! It stinks, so it’s as if it eats both humans and insects! I feel sorry for it - it’s just a stinky flower. Also, I made a big discovery!! Seems like you can drink the digestive fluids of pitcher plants!!! *gags*. Apparently you can only drink it before they catch insects, but it’s close to being germ-free, so please, drink without worry! Also, in Malaysia or somewhere like that, it seems they put rice inside the mouth of a pitcher plant, then steam and eat it, like bamboo chimaki [Rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves]. ...In a pitcher plant… really…? *gags* *gags again*. With venus flytraps, too, people put minced meat in their mouths and grill them or something… those of you who own carnivorous plants; please, give it a go!! But the result is your own responsibility!!!
SHIBATA HIROSHI
He brings the pressure in episode 10 - when I read the manga, I felt this incomparable atmosphere when Shibata transforms and roars noisily around. I think the anime was amazing in amping that up! Looking at the manga, when Shibata’s on his rampage, he takes on more of a swarthy tone. So when I came to choose his colours for the anime, I first had his skin tone be pretty dark, but I felt like that didn’t give the same impact as it did in the manga, so I proposed giving him a scarlet tone as if he came from the Asura realm! And I’m glad I had the sense to! Actually, speaking on this now, he’s kinda like The Hulk (laughs). I guess it would’ve been funny if I made his skin green.
SUZUKI TOUICHIROU
Truth is, I’d finalised Suzuki’s design during season 1. Only because he appears for a split second during the final episode, though (laughs). But, while working on the main story, something I noticed with my design that troubled me was that alongside being slender and baby-faced, his height left something to be desired… so he didn’t look like a boss character in the slightest. After I finished work on the final episode, I thought it’d be good to make his face a little longer, ie. more mature. To make him appear more aggressive, I tried to make his eyes smaller, but then his design strayed too far from his manga self. Of all the things that caused me grief, the worst one of them all was his hair - does he have a jagged hairline because he’s brushed his hair back, or is the jaggedness there a very short fringe due to him having short hair? After I finished work on the final episode, I unexpectedly had the chance to see ONE-sensei, live, drawing Suzuki - from there, my problem was solved!!! Jagged hair (laughs). (It’s due to him having short hair, right?) I apologise for never grasping the true form of his hair, right up to the end.

Inktober - Day 13: Teeming (with rain)
Characters: Hagakure Tooru, Iida Tenya, Uraraka Ochako, Tokoyami Fumikage, Asui Tsuyu, Midoriya Izuku, Ojiro Mashirao Other tags: Manga spoilers, but only about the living situation
Art by Kumi. Words by Red. Read it on AO3! Please, do not repost anywhere.
パラパラ、じゃぶじゃぶ para para, jabu jabu
Fumikage was having trouble concentrating, which was weird. He was usually able to tune out all sounds and focus on whatever task at hand was - in this case, it was the insane amount of English homework Present Mic had asked them to hand in on Monday.
It was Saturday afternoon, and those who wanted to have some semblance of a weekend had decided to join forces in the living room and tackle as much as they could in one sitting.
It had been working fine, until Fumikage’s ears picked up another sound besides the typical pitter-patter of the rain outside. He raised his head and noticed everyone else was focused. Maybe he shouldn’t interrupt them...
He repressed a sigh and continued pouring over his many books and class notes in silence.
Tenya was a patient person. Always ready to listen and help others. But today... today it seemed that the universe was against him somehow.
He had woken up late, a rare occurrence for him, but it still threw his morning routine off. Thankfully, his quirk came in useful as he managed to get to class in time like always.
Later that day, though, he had broken another pair of glasses during training, which irritated him. Because, sure, he had quite a few spares for these kinds of situations, but that didn’t mean it amused him in any way. It felt like a bad omen for some reason.
Unlike most of his classmates, he didn’t really mind the homework. It was a nice bonding experience to have with everyone else at the dorms, so he was actually rather happy about that part. Usually, they all ran to their respective rooms as soon as they stepped into the building and only emerged when it was time for dinner.
However, what truly got on his nerves was the fact that he was constantly losing his train of thoughts because of the splash, splash, splash outside. He didn’t want to bother everyone else about something so meaningless and so he kept quiet, but he couldn’t stop his leg from bouncing a little under the table.
He took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes. He needed a nap.
Ochako was smiling.
It was a quiet afternoon. She was surrounded by friends, and the sound of the rain was soothing, helping her relax as she got through the first quarter of the homework they had planned to finish today.
Of course she would prefer to be out and about, at least in the courtyard, soaking up the sun and talking with the girls. But homework was homework, and she could actually use some help and motivation from her classmates, especially when some of them were ranked among the top of their class.
Maybe she could go and ask Yao-momo for some guidance with the new equations they saw that week. She usually explained things a lot more easily than Iida-kun and, well, she still got insanely nervous around Deku-kun to ask him for help.
But she would not let her nerves or seemingly difficult homework scare her today because nothing could put a damper on her mood.
Why? Because the weather forecast said it would rain all weekend, and so no one wanted to go anywhere. They would all probably watch a movie later, which meant she wouldn’t spend any money this weekend!
With that final happy thought in mind, she went back to her work with renewed energy.
Izuku knew he had a tendency to mutter under his breath, which was usually why he didn’t do very well when it came to studying in groups.
He also didn’t want to use the hand-gripper he always had in his bag because the sound it made could become distracting and annoying after a while.
So, Izuku was feeling a little bit restless. He kept twirling his pen around, using the dictionary a lot more than he actually needed just so he could lift something and feel like he was actually making some kind of physical effort while studying, and he kept getting sidetracked in his search for words, reading way too many definitions he was sure he would forget in the next couple of minutes.
The worst part was the rain. Any other day, he would think nothing of it and just go for a run, but he knew Iida-kun would scold him if he tried to do that, saying he would ultimately get a cold and then get the whole class sick.
He sighed as he looked out of the window and up to the grey clouds above. He at least felt useful as he exchanged notes and happy to talk with his friends as they progressed with their studies. It wasn’t the worst way to spend his weekend if he was being honest.
Mashirao seemed to be the only one sitting at the coffee table that noticed a pair of rain boots and raincoat float quickly out of the dorms.
The subsequent opening and closing of the front door was, coincidentally, masked by an explosion coming from upstairs. They had heard Kirishima pestering Bakugou to convince him to study together earlier and, at this point, no one batted an eyelid at the noise anymore.
Now, the sound of the rain falling was nothing in comparison with the sploshing he could hear outside. He smiled every time he saw one of Tokoyami’s eye twitching and Iida’s leg bouncing.
Hagakure’s mood got incredibly more cheerful when it rained. She had told him once how she just loved playing in it as a child and how she missed doing that here in the dorms.
It seemed that the desire to feel like a kid again had won and was worth the possibility of catching a cold.
Mashirao could give Hagakure a few more minutes to enjoy herself. Then, he was going to ask Uraraka to maybe convince her to have a bath. That way, she would get to play with water for a little longer without getting ill.
“Okay, that’s it!” Tokoyami finally snapped. “How can you all focus? Don’t you hear that?”
His question was followed by a loud splash and it got an immediate reaction from Iida, who started nodding repeteadly.
“Yes! I thought it was just me!” His statement was accompanied by a series of up and down hand gestures.
“Oh, you’re right!” Uraraka said after a second, getting up to look out of the window. “I didn’t even notice it before. It sounds like...”
“Like someone is jumping in puddles?” Midoriya joined her and they both searched for the source of the noise.
“There!” Uraraka said, pointing at the colourful show happening outside.
The whole group was now looking out of the windows from the living room as Hagakure, dressed in a yellow raincoat, bright pink rain boots and with a striped umbrella in hand, danced around and jumped from puddle to puddle, happily sploshing water everywhere.
“She seems to be really enjoying herself, don’t you think?” Uraraka asked the group gathered around her with a smile, getting a few nods in response.
“So that’s what it was,” Tokoyami mumbled, before he added, “Wait, I’ve been hearing that for the past...” he glanced at the clock above the dining tables, “half hour!”
“We should get her inside before she gets sick,” Iida voiced what everyone else was thinking.
“I’ll go get her,” Mashirao offered, grabbing his umbrella from the box sitting next to the door and putting on his trainers at the genkan.
“You know,” Iida started saying, “I would’ve never pictured Hagakure-kun playing around in the rain like this. It feels like this is something Tsuyu-chan-kun would do.”
Uraraka was about to make a comment when the front door opened and they heard the distinguishable sound of water dripping at the entrance.
The four of them frowned. They could see Ojiro chasing a happy Hagakure who refused to stop playing outside, so who had been out in the rain all afternoon too?
Just then, Asui walked in, soaked from head to toes, a trail of water behind her.
“Did someone call, kero?”

Rainy Day Walk- Lance Ship Week Day 6
A bit later than I usually post, but I got the idea for this after looking at videos of Samoyed getting really dirty and then needing a bath. Anyway, hope you enjoy it. Rain/Colours
Rain always made Lance feel cosy. The slight chill in the air, the way the world looked covered in the grey mist, the smell of it after it stopped. He loved dressing in sweaters or Shiro’s long sleeve shirts and curling up under the covers with Hime sleeping at him feet.
Shiro loved the rain as well, not to Lance’s degree, but loved it none the less. When it would rain hard, his mother or father would curl up with him on the couch when he was kid, just listening to rain hit the window. It sounded strange but he loved riding in the rain back when he had his bike. He could hold the umbrella and ride around, relishing in the quiet that would come with the rain.
Hime, Shiro’s Samoyed, was also a fan of rain, though both her owner and his boyfriend wasn’t a fan of how dirty she’d get. The white ball of fluff would go aiming for any dirty puddle or mud patch she’d find. Lance’s cat Katara might be a Savanah but she only got wet when she was getting a bath.
“Hime, hold still.” Shiro ordered, trying to pull on booties onto the restless Samoyed. It was raining again and Lance wanted to go for a walk.
“I miss splashing around in the puddles like I did when I was kid.” Lance had pleaded
“Yes, but we take Hime with us, we’ll be coming back with a muddy puppy.” Shiro tried reasoning, trying to convince his boyfriend to only take Hime down to the area she went and then come back up, not go for a full walk.
“I’ll wash her. I can carry her anyway.”
“Bearly.” Shiro pointed out only to be given a slap on the shoulder for his comment.
“Please Shiro? I like staying in but I really just want to just muddle around.”
Shiro tried to stay strong put Lance’s puppy dog eyes were impossible to resist. He sighed and Lance cheered when he saw he was getting his way.
“You won’t regret this. It’ll be fun. We can even put Hime’s raincoat on her and her booties.”
“She only wears the booties when it’s snowing and it’s hard enough to get them on her then.”
But none the less, here he was getting his dog to hold still long enough to get to booties on. Her purple raincoat was already on so that was one less thing he had to worry about.
“Alright, up you get.” Shiro said after he got the last bootie on. Hime quickly turned from her back and got to her feet, shaking after her ordeal. The movement flicked her coat hood up and Shiro couldn’t help but laugh at confused expression on her face. “There you go. Good girl.” He said as he pulled her hood off and rubbed under her chin, pressing a kiss on her snout.
“Ready?” Lance asked, coming from the kitchen. “I turned the Crockpot on so we have 4 hours to do whatever.”
“Alright. Hime, go to Lance.” The white ball of fur turned and after a few awkward steps, plopped down to sit in front of Lance.
“Such a pretty pupper. Hime, do you wanna…go…on a walk?” at the sound of the magical word, Hime started bouncing and spinning in place. “Yeah, you wanna go on a walk? Ok let’s go.”
They clipped her leash on and grabbed their umbrellas and after locking the door behind them, they were off on their walk. Shiro pulled Hime’s hood on when they got outside, trying to keep her dry as possible, even if he knew it wouldn’t stay on for very long.
“Shiro, look, the patterns are appearing.” Shiro’s mom had given Lance an umbrella that when it got wet, patterns would appear, showing more and more that more wet it got. Shiro couldn’t help but smile at his boyfriend’s childish wonder.
“Are you going to keep lookout for puddles then?” Shiro asked as they finally left the complex and walked down the sidewalk.
Lance answered by dashing off and jumping into a puddle, stamping in it like he was a little kid.
“Ugg, I missed doing this. Why did I stop?” Lance asked out loud as he kicked up a small wave.
“Maybe because you grew up? Hime, no.” Shiro snapped as the white dog tried following her owner’s boyfriend.
The two continued this as they followed Lance in his quest to jump into every puddle he found. Shiro stopped her with most ones but he wasn’t perfect.
“You are going to have your work cut out for you when we get back home.” Shiro said, looking at the muddy legs from whenever Hime was able to get into a puddle. As far as he could see it wasn’t that bad.
“We’ll get warm together.” Lance said walking on the grassy part of where they were. Shiro saw him spot another puddle and watched Lance sprint forward, already keeping a tight hold on Hime’s leash.
He expected another loud splash with a couple smaller ones as Lance would kick around in it. He was not expecting Lance to somehow sink a few feet and pitch forward when becoming unbalanced.
“Lance!” Shiro rushed over to his boyfriend who was starting to pick himself up. “Are you ok? Are you hurt?”
“I don’t think so.” Lance said, wiping away any mud and grass that had gotten stuck on his face.
“What happened? Did you slip?” Shiro asked, helping him
“No. I think that was a hole that just got filled with water. Ugg, I’m soaked through.”
“Come on.” Shiro said, standing up and pulling Lance up with him, making sure to grab Lance’s umbrella from where it fell. “Let’s get back home. I’ll wash Hime up in the guest bathroom while you take a bath.”
“But I said I’d wash Hime.” Lance tried to protest.
“And you’re cold and wet. Take a bath and make hot chocolate. I think this rainy day can be spent with movies.”
They were quick to get home, shedding the wet jackets and Lance disappearing into the master bathroom, while Shiro picked up his muddy dog and took her to the guest bathroom. Katara came and joined them, sitting on the seat of the toilet watching her fluffy friend get hosed down with the shower head.
“Ahh! No Hime!” Shiro yelled as Hime shook herself, spraying her owner with water. Shiro shook his own head trying to get rid of all the excess water that weighed his hair down. “Thanks, now I need a shower.”
It seemed to take forever to finish cleaning her and even longer to get her dry. Shiro was ready for a nap by the time he let Hime run off, Katara rubbing up against Shiro’s leg in an attempt to make him feel better. He followed the striped cat to the master bedroom where Lance was curled up under the blankets, standing in front of the window in the room watching the rain still fall. He didn’t make much noise when Shiro leaned up against him.
“I heard the beast being released. I take it she wasn’t very happy?” Lance asked, a hand poking out from his cocoon to rub at Shiro’s arm as he wrapped them around Lance’s waist.
“As usual. I want a nap. How’s your ankle by the way? Hurting?”
“No, I’m all good. I did not see that hole though. That was, an experience. But best thing about that not happening when I was a kid?”
“What?”
“I get you to take care of me.” Lance said with a cheeky smile.
“And keep an eye on you next time you decided to go splashing in puddles. But next time you’re washing Hime.”
