you know if we do accept the last epilogue-esque sequence as a sort of dream/wish of ted's and therefore not necessarily canon, very funny if we then simply go "yeah, trent's book is called 'the lasso way' actually. he didn't change that. nope."
#listen on one hand#i think that like#i don't think ted actually changed trent's mind about the title#i think trent changed it because ted asked him to#and like that's especially interesting bc he even made a point of being like#'tell me if you disagree with anything and i'll tell you why you're wrong'#but he respects ted; more than that he likes him and he wants him to like the book--like him#anyone else and trent would have told them to fuck off but ted? ted asking him to change the title? yeah#i think he didn't agree with 'it not being about him'--and not bc of any feelings he may have for ted--but if we accept that him changing#the title is canon then like. he did it because ted asked. nothing more nothing less#maybe he felt he owed it to ted as the subject of the book; maybe he just respected him too much not to#maybe it's partially bc of his feelings; maybe it's because he just couldn't say no to ted#but it's ultimately just. because ted asked him.#and trent respects him; trusts him; cares about him#and that's pretty heartwrenching#but like on the other hand if we say 'no that was ted's wishufl thinking trent definitely went 'sorry ted it's called the lasso way''#also like.... him being like. like quietly not changing it and if ted said something him just. being like#ted. i respect you. i care about you. i trust you. but with all due respect absolutely not#yes it isn't ONLY about you but YOU made this happen. YOU are special and YOU have a place here whether you can stay forever or not#yes it's about the team and the coaches yes you aren't a one man band but ted. TED. you touched lives. you changed lives. and that was YOU.#that was you and your philosophy and your attitude.#you made richmond what it is today. yes the team deserve credit too for the kind of bond they have now but YOU facilitated that#none of the coaches currently here woudl be coaches if not for you. the diamond dogs wouldn't exist. literally every single one#of our friends--OUR friends--wouldn't be where they are and probably wouldn't be as happy#you got through to people over and over again who were hurting and lashing out. to rebecca. to roy. to jamie. to nate. to me.#and you can be humble but there's being humble and there's acting like you don't matter to any of us like you didn't have an impact#like you can just leave without a trace. we don't blame you for leaving--i especially don't--but acting like we won't miss you and like#your time with all of us--our time--meant nothing is more insulting than it is humble because we /love you/#and yes. it was the goddamn lasso way that built this place#this community.

That Wasn't Fake (Spencer Reid x Fem!BAU!Reader)
------------------Â
Author Masterlist
------------------
Pairing:Â Spencer Reid x Fem!BAU!Reader.
Request:Â Can you write a Spencer fic where the reader is kind of quiet and shy when she begins working at the BAU, and Spencer has a crush on her, and then they have a case, and she has to like to seduce the unsub lowkey and everyone kind of like...how is she going to do this shes not very outgoing but when she does shes really good at it, and everyone is surprised and impressed.
Summary:Â Â You're shy and reserved. Spencer has a crush on you, and unbeknown to him, you have a crush on him. Maybe the cat can get out of the bag when you have to step aside of your comfort zone to catch an elusive unsub.
Word Count:Â 4.2k (no self control here)
Warnings:Â Words like 'fuck' and 'bitch'. A rant about self-doubt. Typical CM stuff: unsubs, killings, etc.
A/N:Â Another request I loved! It should have been a little shorter, but I'm having a hard time getting to the point these days. Please keep sending requests!
---------------
Spencer knows it is inappropriate, but he can't help it. You're coworkers, and that itself sets a boundary, so he shouldn't be thinking of trespassing.
But the crush he has on you seems to grow every day.
He doesn't know if it is your beautiful smile, the kindness you show in everything you do, or the enthusiasm you put into every task you are committed to. Since the moment he saw you pass the bullpen glass doors, Spencer knew he was damned.
From that moment, Spencer knew he wanted to know you and learn everything about you. About what you liked, what you hated, and what your fears and dreams were. Everything.
But not much after that revelation in his mind, he understood it wasn't going to be easy to get to you.
You were extremely shy and reserved.
In fact, your first interaction - when Emily introduced you both - consisted of a wave of your hand and a timid 'nice to meet you.'
He thought as time went by, you would loosen and become less bashful and quiet. And in part, he was right. As the months passed, you began to feel more comfortable within the team. You laughed at Luke's jokes, you commented on Rossi's stories, and you could even - when the stars aligned - crack a joke yourself to Tara or Matt.
But beyond that, no one knew much about your life outside of the BAU, unlike JJ, who always talks about her kids and her husband, or Matt, who talks about his kids, too. Or Tara, who recounts her failed dates. Or the same Luke who always shows photos of Roxy.
You, on the other hand, seemed to be an enigma. But Spencer Reid loved decoding enigmas.
At first, he turned his interest in you out of mere scientific curiosity. However, internally, he knew it wasn't just that.
It started with small random questions about the times you worked together: Is this coffee okay? What was the last book you read? Do you think we should buy some donuts for the team?
If you were honest, it picked your interest why, from all people, Dr. Spencer Reid was so adamant in making conversation with you.
From what you knew and from what the team said, Spencer was not a person very interested in things other than work or books. But suddenly, out of nowhere, he asked you what the last movie you saw was or something like that.
You always answered his questions; however, you would have liked to be much more talkative and engage in longer conversations, but your nature stopped you.
'What if I don't have anything more interesting for him to say?'
'Does he just talk to me because he feels sorry for me?'
And that was the big issue: you have never had problems with the way you live your life. You're pretty satisfied with what you do in your job and out of it, too. But you have always thought you are too 'simple' to entertain people's interest.
And to be honest, being surrounded by people with so much experience and big things happening in their lives still intimidates you a bit. So, you usually refrain from talking too much about yourself or anything for that matter.
But with Spencer, things are a bit different. He's always checking on you but respects your boundaries. He has learned that sometimes you just don't want to talk, and he doesn't push.
Despite his interest beyond the professional, Spencer would never do anything to make you uncomfortable. Being able to share time with you will have to be enough for him.
In a way, he has become your protector. He is your backup during interrogations or in situations where you can feel awkward, like the times when some police officers tried to flirt with you and got too close. Sure, you know how to turn them down, but sometimes guys don't get the memo and keep pushing. You're too shy to yell or be aggressive about it.
The team also understands the way you are, and they know it does not make you any less professional. However, they have always been careful not to take you too much out of your comfort zone.
---------------
A whole two weeks and five murders later, the team is stuck trying to catch an unsub who has preferences for killing women after club nights. The profile says he is not interested in just any woman but in those between 25-30 years old who like to flirt with several men in the clubs. But it is not just any type of flirting; it is the type that is initiated and dominated by them. In short, he likes to kill women who are the opposite of submissive. He sees them as predators on a hunting ground.
Another finding in victimology is that the women he kills, in addition to having a specific age range, have very similar physical characteristics. And similar to you.
All his victims have your build, eye color, hair color, and height. It gets to be creepy to a certain point. And it's something difficult to ignore.
Bouncing information and possible strategies, the team agrees they need to be proactive to get him to show up before another killing happens.
"Okay, what options do we have?" Emily asks.
"The witnesses haven't gotten us anywhere," Luke complains.
"Although we've narrowed down his hunting grounds," Rossi shrugs.
"Yeah, we know the clubs where he likes to hunt," JJ backs Rossi.
"But although the profile, we have yet to learn about what to look for there. I mean, we know what the unsub wants, but not how he looks like." This time, it's Tara who speaks.
You've rarely seen Emily bite her tongue when she wants to say something, but it's clear that she has something on her mind, and she doesn't know how to put it, or maybe the problem is something else. You look at her out of the corner of your eye, and she looks back at you; what do those eyes say? They look like they're even apologetic.
It's a fraction of the time before she comes back to behave like herself.
"We need to lurk him. It's the only way," she says. And everyone's eyes - yours included - are on her immediately.
"Lurk him?" Matt repeats.
"Yes. And all we know who should be the one going undercover to do that," Emily adds, looking at you this time.
That's itâthe elephant in the room.
Of course, you're the ideal candidate. Well, you're perfect in the physical aspect because if we talk about the victim's personality and yours...
There's silence in the room, and you can feel like the team's eyes are all on you.
Do they expect you to say no? To refuse? From your perspective, it's not a question; it's more like the option you all have to catch the guy.
"It's true (Y/N) would be the closest to the unsub type, but there are a lot of things to take into account," Matt says. And you know perfectly well what's behind his words, even if he doesn't say it directly.
And that's okay; it's perfectly plausible they have their doubts. It is not enough to look like the victims for the operation to work.
But if there is one thing you are sure of, it's that you will always give your all to your job, even if that means becoming a completely different person.
"I can do it," you mumbled so quietly that if the AC weren't in the lower setting, people wouldn't have heard you.
"But (Y/N), you know about this guy. It's dangerous," Matt points, a frown on his face.
"Not to mention he likes rough interactions," Luke adds.
"You don't have to do it if you feel uncomfortable." This time, it is JJ who voices her opinion. And you know, that's the closest reason to the team's main concern.
And the fact you can blow up the entire plan.
Spencer stays in silence. Internally he's freaking out thinking of you having to lurk on the unsub, but he knows you are a professional. And he feels a kind of deja vu.
When he was younger, the team would have said the same about him doing something like that. Spencer knows what it's like when people baby you, making you feel insecure. Sure, he hasn't had to worry about that anymore. Spencer is almost forty, and no one would dare to tell him he can't do something. Not after all the things he has been through.
"JJ is right, Bella. You don't have to do it. We can think of another way," Rossi backs JJ.
That's when Spencer notices the slight frown on your face. It's invisible to everyone but him. He knows it's there.
You stay collected, even when everyone on the team has something to say about how bad the idea of you going undercover to lurk the unsub is.
Emily is who stops everyone's rant.
"Guys, hey. If (Y/N) is telling us she can do it, we're going to do it. Of course, we'll be there to back up her and catch this unsub."
And this is how the discussion is settled.
Emily sends everyone out with a task to prepare for the night. Today is Friday, and the unsub will surely be stalking some new victim. The chances are high.
When it's just you and Spencer in the room, he still looks at you in silence.
"Do you also think I'll not be able to pull off this mission and I'm going to ruin everything?"
You downcast your gaze, exhaling deeply.
"No. I don't think that," Spencer clarifies, and you raise your gaze to meet his eyes. "You are more than capable, (Y/N). The team is worried because you'll be out of your comfort zone in a dangerous situation."
"The team? Not you?" You narrow your eyes to him.
You try not to sound accusatory, but if you're as scared as everyone, you also are fed up with the other's doubts.
Spencer closes the distance between you both but doesn't invade your personal space.
"Of course, I'm worried too! I don't want anything bad to happen to you. But I trust you and your judgment."
Your heart does flip-flops, and you're not sure if it's because Spencer is worried or because, despite that, he trusts youâor both.
"You do?" You ask, not so convinced.
Spencer nods and smiles at you.
"And we'll be there when you catch the guy."
If that is the reassurance you need, you don't mention it. Instead, you grin at Spencer as a promise you'll do your job just how you are supposed to.
---------------
You insist on getting ready in your hotel room. The only assistant you ask for is Emily. She was the one who trusted you first in this, so you'll take every piece of advice she can give you before this night starts.
Everyone has a role in the plan.
Rossi will be the chauffeur who will drive you to the club.
Luke and Spencer would be in the club, mingling with the patrons. JJ, Matt, and Emily would be in the van monitoring the whole situation with cameras and earpieces. Rossi would keep his facade as a driver so he could be at one of the entrances. Tara would be at the club, too, eyeing nothing suspicious going on in the bar because there is a chance the unsub is getting help from the bartender.
When you are in front of the mirror applying the last touch of makeup, Emily is looking at you with a stare you can't decipher.
"What?" you ask, and Emily chuckles.
"Please, don't take this in a bad way, but I never thought I would live the day of seeing you using clothing like this. And Jesus, you look so hot!"
Your cheeks redens.
"It's a little bit odd coming from my boss, don't you think?" you muse, smoothing the fabric of your dress.
"Point taken," Emily raises her hands in defense. "Although I know someone who is going to run out of breath after seeing you."
You let out a scoff. It's not a surprise for you. The BAU girls - boss included - have been trying to set you up with Spencer since forever. You don't entertain the idea only because you don't think it's possible and not because you don't like the concept.
"Come on, don't say that. You are not helping to my nerves."
"Sorry, I'll shut up. We should go, though," Emily says, checking her watch.
One of the SUVs drives you to the van parking point. You needed to review the operation details.
At the back of the van - or commander point - JJ, Luke, Tara, Rossi, Matt, and Spencer see you come up with Emily.
For the best US profilers, they're not doing a good job hiding that they are gawking at you. Surely, no one imagined seeing you in such a revealing outfit. Outfit that, without a doubt, suits you extremely well, highlighting all your body attributes.
Spencer feels like he died and was resurrected after seeing you.
"Okay, guys, we need to check the details again," Emily announces.
The plan is in motion, and everyone is in position.
As expected, you arrive with Rossi at the club, who opens the door for you and helps you descend from the car. Rossi gives you a reassuring smile before letting you go.
Like a switch, you are no longer the shy SSA (Y/L/N). Now you are the woman who is going to take what she wants and attract the unsub attention doing that.
Your walk is determined, and your eyes send out flames of confidence to those who look at you. The music is very loud, something that would usually bother you, but not now. This needs to feel like your environment. That's how you like it, you tell yourself.
Almost instantly, you start to attract the looks of men who are eager for a woman like you.
You exude determination, and you don't go unnoticed.
Walking into the club, you make brief eye contact with Luke, who is on the dance floor. You see Spencer perched in a booth, nursing a beer.
At the same time, Tara is stationed at the bar.
"Remember (Y/N); the unsub expects the woman to approach men. The flirt needs to come from you," Emily reminds you by the earpiece hidden in one of the earrings you're wearing.
"Show time," you mumble to yourself.
You walk seductively to the dance floor, where a young man is dancing with a blonde. You approach and whisper something in his ear. That makes the boy completely lose interest in the blonde and start dancing with you. You smile and cling to the man's body, who wastes no time and takes your hips as if they were his possessions.
That dance certainly has nothing innocent about it. You continue whispering things in the boy's ear, and he looks more and more excited. Once you consider it a reasonable amount of time to have attracted attention, you leave the boy alone and head to the bar. Just a few meters away from Tara, a suspicious man is staring at you. You see him out of the corner of your eye as you order a drink. When the bartender passes it to you, you make subtle eye contact with Tara, who nods, indicating that the drink is clean.
You look next to you and see another man not so subtly looking at you. You know the unsub's profile, and you can't be intimidated or dominated by another man. You are the one who calls the shots. Otherwise, this will not work.
Before the man makes his attempt to seduce you, you turn to him, and with a penetrating look and disdainful voice, you stop him.
"Sorry, honey. Don't waste your time. You're not my type," and with that, you leave to move to the opposite side of the club. The guy huffs, and you're almost sure hearing him call you 'bitch' under his breath.
JJ, who's following the cameras inside the club, sees someone who looks suspect.
"Hey, this guy has been peeking at (Y/N) the entire time, and look, he clenched his fists when (Y/N) turned down that guy at the bar."
Emily confirms JJ's observation before giving you the next instructions.
"(Y/N), you're doing great. We have a possible target. So we need to raise the bet."
You know exactly what Emily means. You both had talked about the strategy to follow, having more details about what you should do than the rest of the team.
Matt and JJ look confused at each other but say nothing.
Your next step is to find another dude to seduce before delivering the coup de grace.
Luke and Spencer keep an eye on you. And while Luke is pleasantly surprised by your audacity, Spencer can't help but feel his stomach tighten. He tells himself it's because he is afraid something bad could happen to you, but inside of him, it's that and the fact of seeing you flirt with other men.
Just like you did with the guy on the dance floor, you attract the attention of another man; this time, you take his hand and pull him to the dance floor.
JJ and Matt's jaws drop to the floor. If Tara, Luke, and Spencer could do the same without giving themselves away, they would have done it, too.
As if it were your second nature, you laugh and move to the music. The man seems to enjoy the moment so much that he takes a bold step by leaning in to kiss you. You let him get closer until his lips are almost on yours. But before touching each other, you pull back with a malicious smile.
"Naughty boy. I'm who says if you can kiss or no," you pout, faking disappointment. Dizzed, the guy cocks his head and sees you walk away.
Matt chirps now. "It's him. Look boss," he tells Prentiss, pointing to the same guy JJ saw before.
There is no longer any doubt that it is him. Now you just have to catch him red-handed.
"(Y/N), we got him. It's time for the last play," Emily tells you.
With Emily's instruction, you go to the bar for another drink before heading over to where Spencer is sitting.
He tries to play it off, but he has no idea why you're approaching him.
"Is this seat taken, handsome?" You ask, with your drink in hand.
"N- no. Please," Spencer gestures to the booth on his front, but you opt to perch to his side. Spencer thinks he never has been this close to you. He looks at your eyes, and it's like you are a totally different person. It's a little bit contradictory for him, to be honest. He already likes you just as you are, but this version of you? It's driving him insane.
Some resemblance of your true self looks with a kind of curiosity the nervousness on Spencer. You don't think much about it; you assume he's playing the nervous guy who is baffled by you.
The thing is, Spencer isn't playing. He's definitely baffled by you.
"Are you okay?" You ask him, masking your question with a seductive smile.
"Yeah. Are - are you?" Spencer stutters a bitâsomething that is perfect for the plan but embarrassing for him.
You get closer to him to speak in his ear.
"This was Emily's idea," you tell him before kissing his ear and gently biting his lobe.
Spencer's breath hitches in his throat, and he thinks he's going to pass out any second. You're not doing it better: your heart is also pumping hard from the adrenaline. Of course, you had imagined something like that with Spencer, but only in your erotic dreams. You wouldn't dare do this on any given day.
You keep teasing Spencer, who, despite the nervousness, tries to play along. If this is the closest he will ever have you, he wants to engrave this in his memory.
"Just a little push, (Y/N). We almost have him," Emily instructs by the earpiece.
You swallow as subtly as possible as you wrap your arm around Spencer's neck, pulling him closer to you.
It's only a second between that action and the fact that you're kissing Spencer like it's your last meal.
Spencer doesn't know how to respond, and you were counting on that; it was enough time for the unsub to notice that you were the one who chose her last prey.
When Spencer is about to reciprocate the kiss, you murmur a 'sorry' into his lips and quickly pull away, giving him a disdainful lookâwhich you hope he understands is fakeâbefore getting up and walking toward the back exit door.
As expected, the unsub follows you towards the back door, and while your back is turned, he believes he has the advantage to attack you. What he doesn't know is that Matt and Luke are ready to lunge at him the moment he tries to touch you.
Everything that happens after is too fast.
The unsub is detained and taken to a patrol car while the team gathers around you, congratulating you on the successful operation. They all apologize to you for their previous apprehensions. You tell them that you understand and that there is no need to apologize. And it's like the switch has been flipped again since you came out of the femme fatale role.
But something is wrong. Spencer is not in the group. You see him a little further away, near the exit door of the club. Emily notices the looks between you both, and she sends the team on different tasks to close the case, leaving you and Spencer there.
There's something in his eyes that you can't decipher. You think it's resentment for using him without warning him what you were going to do.
You shyly approach him.
"It's me again," you tell him, pulling a face. You don't know what to say to make the situation better. Spencer nods.
"Yeah. You did it great, by the way," he compliments you. But it doesn't feel good like Spencer's compliments usually do.
"Look, about the kiss back there-" you start. He needs an explanation as a bare minimum.
"I know. It was fake," Spencer cuts you off.
Those words shouldn't hurt you as they do now. But isn't that the most reasonable thing to believe? The you in the club weren't you, so all you did inside was pretend.
Everything except that kiss.
If it's true you couldn't enjoy it the way you would have liked, you will never forget his lips on yours.
A tense silence takes over the moment. This is not okay.
You can't afford to lie to one of the most important people in your life, even if telling the truth takes you out of your comfort zone.
What the hell! Tonight has already been a total of 180 from a usual day for you.
"It wasn't," you mumble, and you see his eyes flicking to yours in a second.
"What?" Spencer asks, narrowing his eyes at you.
"Everything was fake, but not the kiss," you say with a stadied voice this time.
Spencer's heart races again. If you say you didn't fake it, then what he felt on your part at that moment was real?
"It wasn't fake?" He asks for clarification. You nod.
A smirk forms on Spencer's lips, seeing your cheeks redden.
There you are. The girl he had fallen for in the past two years.
"Well, you know that I am a man of science, right?" he tells you, and you frown because you have no idea where this is going.
"I know," you say with some hesitation.
"And as a man of science, I need evidence of things, you know?"
Now, you are the one who smirks at him.
"Evidence, huh?"
"Yep," he says, emphasizing the 'p' and swaying his body on his feet. You hum.
"I believe I can provide the necessary evidence if you need them," you concede, and Spencer's eyes sparkle with excitement.
Now, he is the one who reaches out and cups your cheeks. Your breathing quickens, but that doesn't stop you from standing on your tiptoes and connecting your lips with his.
This time, there is no unsub, no curious eyes are looking at you, there is no rush, there is no femme fatale role, and above all, this is not fake; it's as real as the fact that your heart beats for him, and his for you.

HIIII!!! I just wanted to say that i really love ur writing! I've read ur traitor series and I can't wait for part 4! I'm a new author, and english isn't my first language, so it's sometimes very hard for me to write bcs i'm stil not that good, but ur fics have helped me improve<3đ!
thank you so much!𫶠im glad youâve enjoyed the series! and speaking of part four, here it is :)
ALL PARTS CAN BE FOUND HERE
simon didnât turn to watch you leave the gym.
he stood there, eyes forward, mask clenched in one fist. he could feel the blood drying on his skin. he made no move to wipe it away.
he didnât blame you for your angerâ he couldnât. he understood the rage. had felt it himself a time or two.
but he couldnât take everything lying down.
did he deserve your wrath, your fury? yesâ and he knew that. there was no making up for what he did; he realized that, but why couldnât you understand?
heâd never fully taken his walls down around you, and that was no fault of your own. he was a guarded man, and his past gave him every right to be.
he had been burned and broken too many times. heâd seen the people he loved murdered because of him.
he swore he would never let that happen again. he put those walls up, and you knocked some of them down.
but there were some youâd never gotten through, at least, simon told himself you hadnât. there was always something he was holding back, a piece of himself he wouldnât give freely. he told himself it was because he couldnât stand to love you so deeply and then watch you leave.
but really, it was because he needed an out. he needed a way to justify his leaving if something ever happenedâ and thatâs what got him here.
simon trusted the 141 with his life. he trusted his captain with his life. price had never led him astray; john knew his face well before any of the others. well before you.
and when someone you trust so deeply, someone youâve followed for years, tells you that the person you love has betrayed your team?
you canât help but believe them. and thatâs what simon did.
the evidence was coincidental at first. wrong place, wrong time. but then, everything started to seem like more than a coincidence. pieces of a complicated puzzle were fitting together. things only you and the rest of the 141 would know were leaked.
and all the signs pointed to you.
and although he didnât want to, simon couldnât help it. the second price had confided in him that you may be the rat, simon began to distance himself. you had been confused, but he had offered no explanation.
price was the one to question you first. it was a heated conversation in his office, consisting of him showing you the evidence and you becoming furious at the accusations.
johnny came to you next, buttering you up with his flirtatious and unarming words before asking if youâd leaked information.
then there was kyle, who pleaded for the truth. he told you that a case was being built against you, and that if you came clean now, things wouldnât be so bad.
simon never tried to talk to you about it. the other men would tell him what youâd said, but he had never gone to talk to you himself.
maybe it was pride. simon wasnât trusting, not after his past. he had let the 141 in, had let you in. and now you were a suspected traitor, and he was angry at himself. angry he hadnât seen it sooner; angry heâd let you in at all.
but maybe it was hurt. hurt that youâd done this to him, to the team, after knowing everything theyâd been through. after stitching up wounds on the battlefield and taking bullets for one another. after sharing simonâs bed and whispering you loved him.
all he knew was that he trusted price. and as evidence built, so did the distance between the two of you, until you were tied to that chair.
and simon had taken his hurt, his anger, out on you. he wasnât proud of it, and he knew now that he was wrong. but he was still a little angry. angry because you couldnât see his side of thingsâ not like he could see yours.
so, he was an ass. he didnât apologize. he snuck flowers to your bedside but kept his distance. he told you to watch your tone because you were still part of the team, and speaking to price like that was only something an outsider would do.
and he told you that heâd spared your life because he had. anger had consumed him, and truthfully, you were lucky he hadnât done worse.
even if heâd smothered his feelings for you with rage, he still harbored love for you, and thatâs why some part of him held back.
he knew you would probably never forgive him. he had made his peace with that.
but he couldnât stand the fact that you couldnât understand why heâd done what he did.
the creak of the gym door opening broke simon from his thoughts. he pulled his mask back on before turning around and making his way to the door.
it took one firm knock on the door for price to answer.
the door clicked open, and price sighed when he saw simon, scrubbing a hand over his unruly beard before letting the taller man in. price turned, walking back to his desk chair, while simon closed the door behind him and locked it.
âthis is a bloody mess,â the captain said, falling heavily into the chair. it squeaked at the sudden weight, old leather crinkling and crackling.
âdoc came and saw me earlier, âfore she left for the night. told me about some new injuries, and yelled at me for letting that happen.â
simon didnât speak. priceâs eyes met his, and he sighed again.
âfuckinâ hell, simon. what the fuck did you say? doc said she had to stitch up both their hands.â
âdoesnât matter what I say,â simon spoke, eyes still on the captain âthey wonât fuckinâ listen.â
price shook his head. âthatâs not true, ând we both know it,â he sounded tired as he spoke, dark bags under his eyes. he paused for a moment, then spoke again.
âspoke to laswell after you left earlier. she said sheâll try to speed up the transfer process. tryinâ to avoid more fuss, and im not fightinâ it any longer.â
âtheyâre part of our team,â simon spoke, tone rough.
price shook his head. âthey are, but I canât keep doinâ this. canât keep pushinâ off transferinâ because of you lot. it may be better for us, but not for them.â
the room fell quiet. simon inhaled, exhaled. his fists clenched at his sides before quickly unfurling once more.
he didnât have a right to be mad at you for leaving, but he was.
âlaswell say anythinâ else about thaâ transfer?â simon asked.
price leaned back in his chair, arms folded across his chest. ânot much. no word on where or with who, but even if she knew, doubt sheâd tell us. for their sake.â
simon gave a small nod and made to turn, but froze as price spoke again.
âshe did say she didnât know if it would go through. theyâd have to pass another eval.â
they both knew what that meant. if laswell said that, then she didnât believe the transfer would happen. kate wouldnât outwardly say it, but price had known what sheâd meant.
pushing the transfer through wouldnât matter if you couldnât pass a physical and psychological evaluationâ and laswell didnât think you could.
although he wouldnât admit it, price was unsure, too. torture was something that took an incredibly devastating toll on the mind and body.
but torture at the hands of your team? there was no telling the damage that that would do to someone. to you.
an honorable discharge was more likely. and, if that was the case, then your rage would likely grow tenfold.
you career, your livelihood, taken from you by the hands of the men you trusted the most. your family, cutting you up and pushing you out.
damned by your team and your country, regardless of everything youâd done for both of them during your service.
you were just another cog in the machine, one that had been damaged and discarded, and a discharge couldnât make that any clearer.
he thought back to what you had said in the gym earlier, before youâd left.
âyou should have killed me.â
maybe he should have.
thanks to everyone for your patience! also just incase you didnât see my post about itâ
im no longer doing a taglist! my side blog @troiastitans will reblog my works from now on, so if you want to know when I post, follow that account and allow notifications!
as always, thank you for the love! (also I hope you all enjoyed a little peek into simonâs head!)

soap developing an unhealthy attachment to his therapist post his brush with death after being shot at point blank range. he was reluctant to see a therapist at first because he didn't like what it said about him that he was being more or less strong armed into seeing a shrink (like no one trusts him anymore; they don't think his head's on straight since being shot), but as time goes on, he grows to cherish the relationship he's cultivated with his therapist because,
well,
she understands him. she listens to him. where everyone else seems to want him to just hurry up and get better (the nightmares, the mid-sentence brain fog, the erratic mood swings, the silent brooding when he can't find the words, aphasia on the tip of his tongue, the constant, constant headaches and auditory hallucinations that he can't seem to kick), she doesn't put any pressure on him to heal right away. she works with him and his medical team; gives him the space to process what happened to him, and has a seemingly bottomless wealth of patience for him.
he can talk for hours in her presence. it's a shame their time together is limited to an hour and a half every week. the dulcet sound of her voice is such a comfort to him. it's a shame she politely but firmly rejects his advances when he finally asks her out, tells him that it wouldn't even be appropriate for them to be friends outside of his sessions. that it would in some way hinder his healing journey. which pisses him off because Soap has progressed in leaps and bounds since those early days when he used to stumble over his words sitting on the couch across from her, head in his hands when the language felt beyond his grasp, a fine tremor still running through his hands that he's since managed to contain,
and
his head is throbbing again. a sharp pain above his eye that pulsates like a drum in his head and -
he thinks about her constantly. in and out of sessions. she's a frequent topic of conversation when the brass finally lets him back out in the field, Makarov finally dealt with (resting six feet deep in an unmarked grave). he ignores the looks oscillating between concern and worry that Price gives him. ignores the way Ghost barks at him to quit bothering the bird in the tight skirt and fuck someone that won't get him discharged. ignores the way Gaz pulls him to the side to ask if maybe he needs to see another therapist, y'know, mate...get some distance.
they act like this is something new. an abberation and not his very nature. like he hasn't always been the type to lock onto a scent like a hunting dog. a sniper by training. he sits and he watches and he waits; waits for the right moment that he alone knows.
it comes to him on an inauspicious day, when he's leaving the training facilities and spots his sweet thing rummaging around in the boot of her car, her ass beckoning him forward like a siren's call. now, now, now, the little itch in his head says, the voice that knows when the time is right. it's a sense acquired through conscious and unconscious observation, letting it all filter into his frontal cortex until he knows without knowing that the parking lot is empty apart from the two of them and the men at the base gates half a mile away.
it would take nothing for him to come up behind her and push her into the boot. nothing to wrestle the purse from her hands and slam the trunk shut. nothing to drive off base with a flick of his fingers to the guards that hardly ever bother to question him before he leaves (though they know what car he actually drives), made complacent by familiarity.
and he knows that it's wrong, knows that there's a line that he shouldn't cross, that choices have consequences, but,
his mouth salivates when her hips twitch, the urge to take settling over him. surely they'd forgive him one indiscretion.

a/n - thank u for the request! loved the idea immediately and this is the first time iâm writing abt pregnancy and stuff so pls do not quote me on anything!!! also this writing isnât my best, sorry abt that. okay bye have fun reading
request - (@ursuu-la) hihihi idk if you're taking requests, but what if u write something where Spencer and a fem reader are dating and she's pregnant, but she's kinda scared(? or nervous to tell Spencer. And maybe she could tell it to one of the girls of the team to find a way of approaching Reid, but then she gets hurt or something happens to her in a case.
âOh. My. God.â
You turned your attention from the open manila folder to Garciaâs multiple screens, searching each one for something important, âWhat?â
âY/n M/n Reid. Youâre pregnant?â Garcia spun in her chair with an angry expression while pointing a ringed finger at the main computer screen. It was your medical history - which you allowed her to search so she could experiment with a new hacking technique - but you had forgotten about your recent discovery.
Your hand was clamped over your mouth as you stared in shock and started rambling through your fingers, âGarcia. I swear, nobody knows - I wasnât keeping this from just you,â you placed your hands on her shoulders when she stood up in disappointment, sending her office chair to collide with the desk, âSpencer doesnât even know, please Garcia. Donât tell anyone.â
Your eyes searched hers for a promise or compromise, but instead you got welling tears.
âGarcia?â
âY/n, your pregnant with a little Reid! This is amazing- How come you havenât told him? Iâll have a new little nephew or niece! Y/n!â She squealed and took your hands to spin you in a circle in her small office. You immediately felt nauseous and slowed the excited girl, her hair accessories threatening to fall off in her happiness. You held your stomach and whispered,
âNo spinning, Iâll throw up.â
She glanced to her computer screens and shut them down immediately, sitting back down and taking a deep breath. âThis is great! Right? Please tell me this is great, youâre already 6 weeks pregnant.â
You bit your lip and nodded, âI mean, I think itâs great but..â You lost yourself in thought.
Last year when you and Spencer got married, you had talked about starting a family many times. But every time you both agreed to wait a few more years in order to save up more money and maybe move into a bigger apartment or even a house. This was not what you planned.
Spencer liked having a plan, it was one thing you grew to love. He was organised and, due to his amazing memory, remembered everything, especially everything about you. And though you two had grown so close you were basically one person, this was the only time you had no idea how Spencer would react if he found out your secret.
âI donât know how to tell Spencer.â
Garcia grinned, but it was quickly wiped away when she noticed a certain figure in the doorway. You spun on your heel, heart attacking your ribs. Luckily, it was not your husband, but your boss. He stood sternly and started, âWeâve got a case, wheels up in 30.â
You nodded and turned back to Garcia, all she did was wave and whisper, âIâll text you.â
In the plane, you sat next to Spencer in the aisle seat, stomach feeling queasy and phone vibrating non-stop in your back pocket. You pinched the bone between your eyebrows and squinted at the case files that Hotch had quickly gone over. Morgan was spilling some theories, Prentiss backing him up, when Spencer lowered his head and whispered in your ear, âAre you okay? You seem tired.â
You put on a small smile and nodded, the fact that Spencer had noticed something wrong meant that the rest of the team would notice soon too. You raised yourself and squeezed Spencerâs hand that had been in your lap. You murmured a small excuse me to Hotch and excused yourself to the planeâs toilet.
Spencer began to get worried for your health. The past week and a half, youâd been eating less and then more, and then youâd say you felt sick, and then you were full of energy. You cancelled plans, you slept more, and you had started avoiding Spencer. You were getting sick, and distant, and he hated how you wouldnât let him help you whenever he asked. He furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head slightly, attempting to focus on the profile.
Sat on the toilet, ready to double over into the bathroom sink, you pulled out your phone and scrolled through Garcias texts.
What about a baby onesie with Daddyâs favourite child on it?
What about a candle lit dinner?
What about donuts that spell out âIâm Pregnant!â
Iâve seen people purposefully burn bread and wait until their husbands understand, maybe that?
Maybe. But right now, that was not what you wanted to think about. On top of the case and the whole pregnancy situation, your symptoms were becoming harder to conceal.
A whole day of analysis, interrogating, leads and dead ends led you to a one story run down house with broken windows and an overgrown yard. You threw the FBI bullet vest over your shoulders as Spencer approached you with a tight smile. His hair was shorter these days, after he finally let you start cutting it, but nothing could change his attractiveness. His cologne wafted into your senses as he went behind you, tightening your vest and patting your back and waist down to make sure you were at optimal safety.
You could almost imagine he knew you were pregnant.
âRemember, if heâs in there, keep your distance. Heâs a big guy but silent, and not all there.â He furrowed his eyebrows as he did a last check over of your vest, belt, and the position of your gun. You smiled and nodded,
âI know, Spence. Iâve been here too.â
He sighed and nodded, placing a small kiss on your cheek as a good luck.
You were married, but there was no guarantee youâd both make it out of any case. Every movement could be your last, and every interaction could be your last together.
Morgan slipped through the door after a man picked the front doors lock, Prentiss behind him and you behind her. After you, followed Hotch and Spencer.
âClear!â Morgan called from the kitchen. You turned right down a hallway, Prentiss disappearing into a small room on the right and yelling,
âClear!â
You entered the small bedroom, gun high and steps careful. It was an adults bedroom, maybe a teenager. There was posters of horror movies, a thin mattress on the floor and shelves of books and wooden cupboard holding what you believed to be clothes.
âClea-â
The wind got knocked out of you, your shoulder colliding with the wall to your left and a sharp handle being jabbed into your side, as you plummeted against the floor and hearing a loud thump and shattering glass beside you. Miniscule, rainbow, dots clouded your vision, the adrenaline and the concussion you were sure you had numbing the pain coursing through your veins. You screamed in pain, Hotch entering almost immediately.
You lifted your right arm to point out the window, the glass shattered from where the unsub had escaped.
Spencer entered the room in a rush, eyes running over the fallen cupboard that would've been taller than the both of you, and then your small body in the corner. You held out your arm for him, and he placed his hands under your armpits, jolting back when you screeched in pain. "Y/n, your..." His eyes widened in shock and fear at the sight of your dislocated shoulder. Your right hand clutched to your left side - no doubt trying to comfort a massive bruise or worse.
He gulped, helping you up and throwing your good arm around his shoulders. The sudden movements blanked your vision for a few moments, a small lump forming on the front left side of your temple, and your legs trembled in the sudden need to hold yourself up. "Y/n, we just need to get you to the ambulance, alright?" Spencer told you reassuringly. He didn't know how much you could understand, your eyes were cloudy and your movements spaghetti-like, but he continued to reassure you anyways.
The paramedics set into action as soon as they saw your near limp body strung across Spencer's taller build. You were placed in the ambulance on a bed and before you knew it, there was a heavy clamp on your finger and two paramedics touching you and saying unexplainable things to each other. A short one with a beard came close to your vision, obvious aware it was still slightly blurred, "Agent Y/n. We need to take your shirt off in order to fix your shoulder okay? We need to pop it back in as quick as we can."
All you could do is nod, Spencer making most of the choices for you as your husband - he wouldn't put you through something he knew you would disagree with. They asked him questions, and while the voices came in and out of focus, the adrenaline was wearing off and suddenly your senses heightened. "Is she pregnant?"
The question rolled off the paramedics tongue like a rehearsed poem, and Spencer shook his head like there was no possible way you were. But as you saw needles being prepared, your heart started pounding so fast it got the attention of the professionals. "Y/n, are you still with us?"
To Spencer, you looked like you had just woken up to a bad dream, but there was something deeper - you were not unconcious, if anything you looked alert.
"I'm pregnant." The paramedics glanced at each other and Spencer's eyes widened. The one with the needle placed it down carefully on a table, and before you knew it, you were being pushed through hallways and into a awfully bright room.
You passed out, fear and exaustion catching up to you. But Spencer couldn't sleep. On top of the fact that his wife had just gotten her shoulder dislocated and then fixed, and a slight rib fracture, she was also pregnant.
Spencer doubted for the first half hour of waiting for you to wake up that you actually were. You were saying nonsense, you were injured and the adrenaline... usually causes people to tell the truth. He paced and went over everything that had been happening. The change in your behaviour, the tiredness, the sickness. It was all coming together like a puzzle, and he wondered why he didn't realise sooner.
"Spence?" A small voice called out, and he approached the hospital bed almost immediately.
"Y/n." Spencer smiled in relief, overjoyed that you were alright and breathing. He knew you'd be fine, but anything can be unpredictable. Anyone can be unpredictable. "I'm so glad you're okay."
"What happened?" You tried to sit up but Spencers soft hands encouraged you to stay laying down.
"The unsub pushed a cabinet at you. You collided with the wall and dislocated your shoulder." He explained softly, the doctors told him that the specific pain killers they gave you may cause some loopiness. "Oh." You whispered, eyes searching his face like you had never seen it before, and you smiled. You were here, and he was here, and you needed nothing more. Other than more pain killers.
Spencer bit his lip, and sighed, not sure if it was the right time to bring the blindside up at that moment.
"Y/n, darling, are you... pregnant?"
The small grin wiped off your face and you took some deep breaths, nodding and avoiding his gaze in fear of rejection. Spencer sighed, and pushed his hair away from his face, a smile rising onto his cheeks. Tears welled in his eyes from happiness. "This is great, this is... wow Y/n, I can't believe.." He gulped, "I can't believe you didn't tell me sooner."
Confusing his disbelief for anger, tears started dropping down your cheeks as you sat in silence. Spencer started to worry, "Do you... not want to have a baby with me? Or at all? Do you think I won't be a good father? I know that I've had my problems in the past but I promise I can be a good father-"
"Spencer." You called his name in shock, heart aching over his insecure questions. "I do want a baby, especially one with you. And I don't think you'll be a good father, I know you'll be a great one. I just," you wiped your cheeks and he sat down in a chair beside your bed, taking your hand in his. "I'm scared. I thought that you wouldn't want to have one right now because of our... plan. This is really early and we didn't get to save- and- I thought you'd be mad-" You had started blubbering now, the heart monitor becoming a ticking time bomb for a full on breakdown, before Spencer took your face in his hands and smashed your lips onto his.
He pulled back, smile wide, eyes full of adoration and sorrowfullness.
"Y/n, I don't care about that plan anymore. And I'm not mad." He searched your eyes with his, "I just wished you told me earlier. Maybe you wouldn't have been injured, because god knows I wouldn't have let you go out into the field."
"Spencer, I'm so sorry." You sniffled, placing your other hand on top of his.
"Oh, darling. You don't have to be sorry. I've made my injured and pregnant wife cry, I should be sorry."
You giggled, and leant forward to kiss him on the nose. "So it's really okay?"
"Of course. You just have to heal quickly, and I'll do all the rest."

you shouldâve known youâd get caught, you work on a team of people literally trained to notice things. you working on that team meant that you thought you could be subtle. yet it didnât stop you from gaping at spencer whenever he used those fucking hands of his.
it started off innocently, becoming so entranced when he would explain the geographical profile to the team on cases and his massive hands would span the map occasionally using a finger to point out a spot. then it was the way his veined hand engulfed his pistol, so much that it could disappear if he tried. you took detours on the days you knew spencer would be in the training range just so you could watch his fingers pull the trigger over and over again.
youâd go home thinking about those hands, how they would feel roaming your body, squeezing your chest, placed on your throat. it was enough to make yourself come three times over, just imagining what his fingers would feel like inside you. but it never felt as satisfying as what you really craved.
the next day youâd come to work, you and spencer had to work on a report together, and you werenât sure how you were gonna keep your shit together if he was less than a foot away from you.
he pulled up a chair to your desk and you both started going over the files, and heâd occasionally reach over your lap to point something out in the files you were holding. heâd nonchalantly brush his fingers on your thighs, your shoulders, even placing his hand on the small of your back when hotch had called both of you to his office. it was turning you on so bad, you were getting wetter by the second that you had to cross your legs to find some satiation.
spencer knew you were getting restless, anticipating you were going to break soon. itâs just what he planned.
âeverything okay?â spencer whispered, placing his hand on your upper thigh.
the action shocked you, âiâm good! i just think i need another cup of coffee.â you abruptly get up and practically run towards the break room. spencer watches you walk away with a faint smirk on his face. he gives you a minute or two to calm yourself before getting up and following you.
he found you leaning against the counter, coffee mug in hand and eyes closed, like you were trying to regulate yourself before returning. you heard footsteps and opened your eyes to watch spencer walk over right next to you, and grab the coffee pot in a way you could only describe as deeply sensual as he accentuated every movement, flexing his fingers around the handle and gripping so motherfucking tightly his veins popped up, before pouring himself a cup and speaking to you, âso, i think weâre missing a file. will you come with me to the records room to help find it?â
he calls your name again when youâre so obviously still staring at his hand holding the mug and not attending to him. you snap up and stare at his face blankly, he stares back with that smug ass smirk still and you realize heâs holding his hand out for you to take.
he has to be fucking with you right? it canât just be a coincidence at this point. spencer literally rambles on and on about the actual probability of coincidence, and if it happens enough times, itâs intentional.
so you take his hand.
and now youâre reflecting on the last few hours, the maybe not so accidental touches to your thighs, the over exaggeration of his fingers pointing to lines in your files that you knew he didnât need to check again, and now his outstretched hand leading you to a secluded room. you donât have time to finish your conclusion when the door to the records room closes behind you both and spencer pushes you against it to cage you in with his arms.
âhi.â heâs so close to you oh my god.
âh- hi.â
spencer starts trailing his hand up the side of your hip, âyou seem really distracted today.â
âohâŠi didnât realize, sorry.â you murmur, trying not to get distracted as his hand ends its journey on the side of your neck, curling his fingers around the back and angling your face up with his thumb.
âiâm not sure how you expect to get anything done if you keep staring at my hands all day, sweetheart.â
fuck.
your eyes widen, âi wasnât, no it wasnât like that, i..â but your protests fall on lost lips as he thumbs over your lower lip.
âif you wanted my fingers that bad, all you had to do was ask.â
your heartbeat fastens as he leans down to press a soft kiss to your lips, slow but exploratory. he feels you relax a little and pushes his tongue through and attacks you more earnestly. your hands have rested on his shoulders while his have both moved to your hips, pinning you to the door.
one hand moves to play with the button of your dress pants, rubbing his thumb over the button and slightly dipping the tips of his fingers into your waist, âis this okay?â, you nod, âif you want me to stop, at any point, just tell me.â you nod again, pulling his head back down to kiss him, already missing the drunk feeling he gives you. he deftly undoes the button and pulls down the zipper, pushing your pants down around your thighs but leaving your panties on.
you thank whoeverâs watching over you that you chose lavender lacy panties today, and it seems spencerâs especially thankful as well when he lets out a groan, âi think youâre trying to kill me.â
âi think itâs going both ways right now.â you pant.
spencer dips his index finger just below the waistband of your panties and pulls it back, âoh honey,â snap. âjust you wait.â you let out a soft whimper while he chuckles to himself.
he runs his hand down the lace trimming of your panties, reaching the crevice of your inner thigh and your core. ghosting his fingers over where you really need him, he watches your face intently for how you react. your eyebrows are furrowed, and your breathing is heavy, but not enough to let out a moan. and spencer is nothing if not an overachiever.
he presses his middle finger flat against your core, staring as the increased pressure causes your mouth to fall open. heâs getting closer, but itâs not enough.
moving his fingers back to the crevice, he hooks two fingers and slides your panties to the side, wasting no time in collecting your arousal and spreading it all over you. he faintly hears his name fall from your swollen lips, and he knows heâs close to his goal.
giving your clit the last bit of attention, he dives his middle finger down and enters your hole, and you lose it.
the sharp gasp you let out immediately turns into a pornographic moan as he begins moving in and out of you.
âthereâs my girl, knew i could get those pretty sounds out of you.â he breathes in your ear.
his praise goes straight down, making you clench around his slender finger, something that spencer made note of, âyou like it when i tell you things like that huh?â he adds his ring finger to the mix, âwanna hear how good youâre doing for me?â
âspencer, pleaseâŠiâm so closeâ you whimper.
âi know baby, youâre taking my fingers so well, canât imagine how youâd look full of my cock.â
âfuck, oh my godâŠâ you whine
heâs got you teetering on the edge of your orgasm as you let out another loud moan, the feeling of his fingers sliding in you so fucking easily is enough to make you delirious. spencer feels you clench around him again and knows youâre so close, and rubs his thumb on your clit.
âcome for me, pretty girl, show me what my fingers do to you.â
it was enough to send you crashing into your peak, grabbing on to his forearms as you roll your head back, spilling out a mix of expletives, his name, and moans as he fucks you through your high. you slowly come back down to reality, panting heavily as you meet his honeyed eyes again. he slows his movements and gently pulls out, opening his mouth to suck the arousal off his fingers.
âjesus fuck, spence.â you whimper.
he laughs as he helps you pull your pants back up and resituates you with a pat on your ass, âcome on, letâs go pack up our stuff.â
âwhat why? we still have to finish the report.â you lamely point out.
spencer leans down to plant a longing kiss on your lips again, âi think the file iâm looking for is at home,â he smooths your hair down, âgo tell hotch weâre gonna finish it at my place.â
you canât help but smirk, âwhy wonât you come tell him yourself?â your eyes panning down to his bulging crotch.
âdonât be a little shit, you know why. now go tell him, or iâm not gonna be as nice as i was now when we get there.â

He's worried one day you'll run out of things to tell him, but according to the ink splotches across your skin, there's a slim chance that'll happen.
"Hi, teddy!" you chirp, and he turns to welcome you into the seat beside him. "You will not believe what I saw in the courtyard on my way here: a willow tit!"
Mattheo chokes on a gulp of juice, sputtering in his seat and looking over at you. "Pardon?"
"Don't be crude, Matty. I'm talking about birds."
"Yeah, I got that, I just never realized youâre playing for the other teamâ"
"Mattheo!" you holler, glaring at him in utter disbelief, "you complete idiot! Birds, as in real birds. As in those things that fly around and chirp and eat berries!"
"Let me get this straight, we're not talking about some bird's tits? Suddenly, I'm uninterested," he says, earning a pointed glare from Theo.
"Anyway," you say, rolling your eyes and facing Theo, "You hardly see them anymore, they're very rare, but I saw one, and it was the cutest creature I've ever seen on campus! It was so round, I could have died. He must've liked all the rain we got over the weekend. I hope he survives the winter and has lots of little tit babies in the spring!"
Theo could not be more head over heels for you while you babble about round tits and babies. He thinks if he ever opens his mouth to respond, heâll screw it up in an instant. Thank Merlin, he's naturally quiet and content to listen to you all day. And thank Merlin, you never ask for anything more from him.
If only you knew how much he truly adores you and your ramblings. He holds your company in his highest regard and considers every time you choose him a blessing.
You never think too much of Theo's tight-lippedness. You figure if he was completely sick of it, he'd just get up and walk away. Or maybe that's not like him, and maybe you are a bother.
It doesn't help when Pansy skips up to you in the hall and says, "I'm really impressed you're able to hold Theo's attention as long as you do."
"What are you talking about, P?" you say.
"Well... don't you ever worry he's, like... bored with you? I mean, when was the last time he actually contributed to your 'conversations'. I just don't want you to get your hopes up, you know?" âshe shrugs it off like it's not an unforgivable curse to the gutâ"If I were you, I'd find a more attentive playmate. You can always talk to me!"
"Thanks, Pansy," you say.
"Just looking out for a friend! See ya!"
You nod and wait by the bottom of the stairs as she hops her way up. You didn't think you were getting your hopes up, necessarily. You thought Theo was just a good listener. And sure, he's not super responsive, but he's just shy. That's not his fault.
âŠ
There's a rapping of knuckles at the door, and Mattheo hurdles his bed and reaches for the knob.
"Why, good evening, dearest birdwatcher"âTheo perks up from where he's rifling through his trunk.
"I could say the same to you, perv," you tease, "Is Theo around? I needâ"
"To talk to him? Figures. He's just hiding his softcore stashâ"
"Shut up!" Theo hollers, popping up and hurrying to the door, a little flushed to find you looking at him, "he's just joking."
Mattheo chuckles, "No, he's right, Theo would never have so much fun"âhe dodges the jab to his sideâ"Alright, I'll leave you two lovebirds to your tits and whatnot. Try not to make too much noise, we have downstairs neighbors." He winks and makes his way down the boys dormitories stairwell.
And suddenly, Theo can't remember the last time he was truly alone with you. No onlookers or eavesdroppers, no Pansy and no Mattheo. Just the two of you. His sweaty palms and your rapid heartbeat.
"I need to ask you something," you finally blurt. He looked so nervous you thought he might throw up over the railing, so you put him out of his misery before he has the chance.
"Yes, yeah, anything," he huffs.
"Well," you say, "I was thinkingâjust... ruminating, really, because it was suggested that I bore you with my chattiness"âyou cross your arms over your chest and look to the floorâ"and not that I'm begging for pity or even a response, I just wanted to know how you feel because I realized maybe I don't ask about you enough. You know, like I'm always worried about me, or something, but I do worry about you, too! I just wasn't sure if that's somethingâif you maybe wanted to talk about it more. Because I can be a good listener! I'd be happy to hear whatever you have to say!"
Theo leans his shoulder against the doorframe, adjusting the bottom of his sweater as it clings to his hips. How could he let you believe you're too much for him. How could he let you believe yourself to be some kind of social burden to him. All because he'd much rather listen to you than contribute his own two cents.
"See! Merlin, even now, I've just talked your ear off while trying to apologize for constantly talking your ear off! And I haven't even apologized, yet! I'm so sorry, Theo, I know it's a problem, and I didn't mean to take advantage of your politeness."
You scuff your sole on the landing with a whine, and he leans to the side to watch you look over the edge. It's so quiet for a moment, he can hear your soft breathing if he focuses on it.
"It's not a problem," Theo says. You look over, lips parted at the smug look on his face. "And if I was the one who suggested otherwise, I couldn't be more apologetic."
It makes you smile. He's just said two very thoughtful things to you. Out loud. To your face. You could crumble.
"No! No, teddy, it wasn't you, it was... doesn't matter. You really don't mind?"
He shakes his head, a little amused, honestly. How could he mind? Youâre the greatest thing since dark chocolate, and heâd still give that up. Youâd go just as well with his afternoon tea.
âWell, then,â you huff, warmer under his gaze, determined to get this damned apology across.
âAlright,â Theo says. Apology accepted. Apology not even necessary. But still accepted.
âOkay. But next time you catch me rambling, you better just shut me up! Tell me to âshushâ or something! Itâs a problem, and I give you full permission toââ
He kisses you. He leans down, smug with his fingers under your chin, and he kisses you! Shuts you right up like youâre still some gullible first year completely wooed by his boyish charms! Oh, but heâs kissing you very sweetly. And when your knees go a tad wobbly, he rushes to cradle your elbow.
âLike that?â he says.
âThatâs no way to treat a lady, Theodore. You should be completely ashamed of yourself for ever thinkinââ
He kisses you again. More sure and much quicker. Like a reflex. A knee jerk reaction without the kneeing or the jerking. Just his stupidly soft lips.
âYeah,â you whisper, âthat works⊠but you canât just kiss me every time you want to shut me up.â
âNoââhe pecks your lips, fingers gentle at your cheekââI plan on kissing you much more often than that.â

ౚà§
You were on a tour of the paddock, weaving through the bustle of teams prepping for race day, while you tried not to be overwhelmed by the atmosphere. Your family had always been Formula 1 fanatics, and being here was a dream come true. You were taking it all inâsavoring every moment of walking through the garages and team areas that you'd only ever seen on TV.
Your family had been buzzing with excitement when you told them you won tickets for the paddock tour at the Grand Prix. They were envious, of course, but you had promised to snap plenty of pictures for them. None of them could imagine the turn your day would take.
As you followed the group through the McLaren garage, somethingâor rather, someoneâcaught your eye. Out of the corner of your vision, you saw a figure rushing toward you. You stepped to the side instinctively, trying to avoid a collision, but your foot snagged on something, and before you could blink, you were falling backward.
Except, you didnât hit the ground.
A pair of strong hands caught your shoulders, and you gasped, steadying yourself as you regained your balance. When you looked up, your eyes met warm brown ones, sparkling with amusement and a hint of concern. Lando Norris.
âAre you okay?â he asked, a grin slowly tugging at his lips.
For a second, your brain went blank. Was this actually happening? Was Lando NorrisâMcLaren's star driver, F1 wonderkid, and easily one of the funniest guys on the gridâreally holding onto you?
âIâyeah, sorry!â you blurted, trying to compose yourself, though your heart was beating too fast. âI wasnât paying attention.â
âNo worries, happens to the best of us,â he chuckled, still holding onto your arms. âBut I have to say, itâs not every day someone literally falls for me.â
You blinked at him, then laughed, the tension breaking. âDoes that line work often?â
âMore than you'd think.â He winked, releasing his hold on you, though he seemed reluctant to do so.
The tour group was already moving on, but you hesitated, still standing in front of Lando, unsure of what to say or do next.
He tilted his head slightly, noticing your uncertainty. âAre you with the group?â
âYeah, butâŠâ You waved a hand dismissively. âItâs fine. They wonât miss me.â
Lando raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by your response. âHmm, playing hooky already?â
You shrugged, biting back a smile. âMaybe.â
âWell, if youâre gonna skip out, you might as well do it properly. Come on,â he said, jerking his head toward the pit wall. âLet me show you around.â
You blinked. âReally?â
âWhy not? You already tripped into meâseems like fate, doesnât it?â His grin was contagious, and despite the voice in your head screaming that this was all surreal, you found yourself walking beside him as he led you past the rows of McLaren engineers, their heads down in concentration, and into areas the tour definitely wasnât going to cover.
-
The rest of the tour passed in a blurâLando showed you parts of the garage up close, pointing out the intricacies of the car, telling you little jokes about his teammates, and talking about life on the circuit. It felt strangelyâŠnormal. The kind of normal where you could forget he was a famous Formula 1 driver and just see him as the charming, cheeky guy he was.
By the time you both circled back around to the paddock entrance, youâd learned that he loved golf, he was obsessed with video games, and he had a dry sense of humor that had you laughing far too easily.
You didnât want the conversation to end, but you knew it had to eventually. âThanks for, um, the tour,â you said, fidgeting with the hem of your shirt.
âNo problem. You should come back, you know.â He paused, glancing over his shoulder toward his team, who were undoubtedly waiting for him to rejoin them. Then he turned back to you with that grin that made your stomach flip. âGive me your number.â
Your heart skipped a beat. âWhat?â
He chuckled softly, reaching into his pocket to pull out his phone. âYour number. So we can keep in touch.â
You blinked, processing what he was asking. Lando Norris wants your number? This was a conversation you were definitely not ready for. But despite the swarm of butterflies in your chest, you handed over your phone.
As you typed in your number, you couldnât help but wonder how you were going to explain this to your family. Oh, nothing major, just met Lando Norris todayâŠ
-
You didnât tell anyone. Not at first, at least.
After that day, Lando had texted you the very next evening, something casual about how he hoped you hadnât tripped over anything else after you left. You laughed out loud, and your reply had been easy, comfortable. Before you knew it, the two of you were talking almost dailyâtexts that quickly evolved into phone calls and, eventually, meeting up at a few more races.
By the time you realized what was happening, you and Lando were dating. Quietly, but officially.
Your family had no idea.
It wasnât that you didnât want to tell themâit was justâŠcomplicated. Your parents, your siblingsâeveryone in your family was obsessed with Formula 1. They knew every driver, every stat, every bit of news before it even hit the headlines. The idea of telling them you were dating an F1 driverâtheir favorite driverâfelt impossible. You could already picture their reactions. The shouting, the questions, the disbelief.
So you kept it to yourself. For now, at least.
-
Months passed, and things with Lando grew deeper, more serious. He wasnât just the famous driver anymoreâhe was Lando, the guy who made you laugh when you were stressed, who sent you goofy selfies from the hotel on race weekends, and who listened when you vented about your day. He was sweet, thoughtful, and maybe a little too good to be true.
Eventually, the time came when hiding him from your family wasnât an option anymore. You had to tell them.
-
âI have a surprise for you guys,â you said nervously, standing in your living room with Lando by your side. You hadnât told them yetâhadnât explained who your âguestâ was.
Your mom and dad were sitting on the couch, your siblings sprawled around the living room, all eyes on you.
âWhat kind of surprise?â your sister asked suspiciously, glancing at Lando with a raised brow. He was wearing a baseball cap, pulled low enough that it wasnât obvious who he was, but it wasnât going to take long for them to figure it out.
You swallowed hard, glancing at Lando, who gave you a reassuring smile. He reached for your hand, squeezing it gently before stepping forward, taking off his cap and revealing his face.
For a split second, there was silence.
Then your dad nearly choked on his drink. âL-Lando Norris?â he stammered, eyes wide. Your siblings were frozen, mouths hanging open as they stared at him in disbelief.
âSurprise!â you said, giving them a nervous smile.
Lando, ever the charmer, grinned and waved. âHi, nice to meet you all.â
Your family erupted into chaos. Your mom jumped up, asking a million questions at once, while your siblings started shouting over each other, and your dad was still trying to process what was happening.
âI canât believe it,â your brother said, eyes wide as he stared at Lando. âAre you really dating my sister?â
Lando chuckled, sliding his arm around your waist. âYep. Guess youâre stuck with me.â
You couldnât help but laugh, relief flooding through you as you realized everything was going to be okay. Your family was shocked, yesâbut in the best way possible.
And as you stood there, watching Lando joke with your siblings, you realized something else.
You werenât just dating an F1 driver. You were dating Lando, and somehow, that was even better.

Part 2
Growing up, Verstappen wasnât easy. Growing up with Jos Verstappen as your guardian and the one that has custody is hard. Being the oldest, Verstappen is damn near impossible. Could you have chosen to live with your mother? Yes, but that wouldâve left Max alone with Jos, something you werenât about to do. Admittedly you were young yourself, but even at a young age you knew that if Max was left with Jos alone it wouldnât turn out good for your brother, youâve always been motherly and have so much love in you that you just shared it with those around you and your siblings got the most of it. It made perfect sense to you as a young girl to leave your life with your mother and sister and go with your brother and father.
At one point you were the one Karting, you loved cars and karting since you were young, with both parents into motorsport it was hard not to, and even Jos couldnât deny how good you were, but alas youâre a female and thereâs no way youâd make it all the way to F1, something that Jos loves to remind you of. Thatâs the reason he stopped you from going once Max started winning in karting, and he wanted to focus on his child, who would achieve all his personal dreams and make it into F1. Maybe itâs your love for the sport that made it easier but you enjoyed every time you went to a track and watched the karts race, you dreaded after the races though, to Jos anything but first is a failure. On days like that, youâd follow your father and stand in his way, heâd shout at you and push you around, and youâd take it all in all in the hope that by the time he reached Max he wouldnât be angry, or at least youâd take the blunt end of his anger. That didnât always happen and on those days youâd just stay with your brother holding his hand, walking with him home in the cold, in the rain and in the heat of the sun, never letting him go through a punishment alone and never letting him go through your punishments.
It was all in the hope that Max would reach F1 one day, and he did, heâs in Formula 1 now, heâs been there since he was 17, he skipped so many steps and jumped into Formula 1, he went from Toro Rosso to RedBull in a record time and he was racing with legends and world champions before you had time to comprehend it. All whilst you watched him from the garage, as a family member and a part of his team, never missing a race. Driving him around when he didnât have his driverâs licence, hugging him after each win and DNF, picking up the pieces after a scolding from Jos and tearing up when he got his first win. Always smiling and happy for him no matter what.
Youâd think now that youâre all older, the talk from your father wouldnât affect you, that youâd get used to his words, and they wonât affect you. But heâs your dad. It never gets easy.
So here you are standing at the back of the garage youâre both watching the screen, when the camera cuts to you, you smile a bit before it cuts off back to the race, with one pull youâre away from prying eyes of people in the garage. Only the few people at the back could see you.
âWhat?â You ask your dad with a frown. His grip on your bicep is like iron. You hold in a wince and look him in the eye.
âWhat was that?â He whisper shouted, you looked at him confused. âDonât give me that stupid look. How many times have I told you, I donât like that look.â
âIâm just confused, I donât know what you mean.â You explain yourself and try to act normal, all while knowing itâs about to get worse, heâs in a mood, Maxâs race hasnât been going like heâd like, heâs currently in second with Checo in first, something bad in your dadâs books.
âDonât play stupid, I know what youâre playing at.â Jos squeezes more, and youâre bound to have a bruise by tomorrow morning.
âIâm literally doing nothing.â You move trying to pull your arm out of his grip, and he lets go of you but leans down in your face.
âI saw that look you gave the camera, donât ruin your brotherâs image.â You close your eyes and bite your lip, and it takes you a few seconds before you neutralise your expression into blankness. âDonât look like a slut, it could affect the sponsors.â
âBut I wasnât.â You mutter, but he just scoffs.
âDonât. Play. Games. With. Me.â With each word through his fretted teeth, he poked/pushed you with his finger at your shoulder, having you move back every time.
âIâm not.â You insist. Thankfully, before he can reply, someone clears their throat, making you both look to the side to see Hemlut standing there. He doesnât look amused.
âKeep your family affairs out of the garage, please.â Was all he said before he turned to look at the screen. It takes everything in you not to roll your eyes, giving your dad one last look you turn and go watch the race from a different spot in the garage as far away from him as you could get.
Max ended up winning the race, with Lewis second and Charles third. So all was good in the end, your brother won the race, your dad was back in his happy mode, and your day was ruined. You rushed with the crowd to congratulate Max on his win. Your brother comes to you for a hug. You kiss his cheek as you always do and pat his back.
âCongratulations Maxie.â
âThanks.â He gives you a big smile before heâs rushed to get weighed, you look at Ferrari as they congratulate Charles, the sea of red eye catching, looking around you donât see any Mercedes dressed personal in the vicinity. Your eyes then fell to the 7 times world champion, heâs sitting on the floor looking tired, his eyes swept over the teams looking for his own. You feel bad for him. His family must not be here today, and his team didnât bother to show up for him.
Later that day, you found yourself pulled to a club to celebrate another Max win, youâre usually up for the celebration, but after what happened at the garage, you werenât feeling up to it. However, you can never say no to Max when he asks you to do something all nice and loving, so thatâs how you ended up here. In a random club, with a lot of Formula 1 workers from all teams and FIA, theyâre all having the times of their lives as if theyâre not rivals and hate each other, every other day of the week. Youâve sat down the moment you walked in and havenât moved, drinks coming to you, but youâve only been sipping light ones, not wanting to get drunk and deal with a headache in the morning.
An hour in, you head to the bar to order water or a soda, not in the mood to drink more. With a sigh, you lean on the bar and wait for the bartender to make his way to you, looking bored out of your life.
âYou donât look like youâre having fun.â Someone says, coming up to stand beside you, the accent familiar, but you couldn't pinpoint why before you turn and your eyes fall on a pair of brown eyes.
âNot really.â You say and shrug, turning so youâre both facing each other. âI mean youâre the first person to come up to talk to me in the last hour or something.â
âI donât believe that, a beautiful woman like you.â Lewis gives you a small smile, and you chuckle, playfully rolling your eyes.
âI know, right, and here I dressed up, only for it not to work.â You say a tone of amusement lanced into your words, liking this banter going back and forth.
âI wouldnât say itâs not working.â Lewis says and looks you up and down, you blush under his gaze but the smile doesnât drop from your lips, the bartender comes up to you right then and asks you for your order, you ask for a glass of water and a soda, before he turns to Lewis who doesnât ask for a drink. âYouâre not drinking?â
âI had a couple of drinks, but I donât feel like getting drunk.â You tell him, and he hums, you lean closer as if youâre going to say a secret. âBetween you and me, I didnât want to be here anyways.â
âMe neither, why are you here?â Lewis asks, you look around the club, and your eyes fall onto your brother having the time of his life with his friends.
âBecause my brother wanted me to come.â You say not looking away from Max, who was smiling and enjoying himself, it brings a smile to your face seeing him carefree. Your favourite type of Max.
âYouâre Maxâs sister.â At Lewisâ words, you realise he didnât know who you were, your head snaps to look at him and give him the smallest of smiles, a defeated look hiding behind your eyes. As if youâre expecting the worst.
âYeah, is that a problem?â You ask him already knowing what heâll say. Your brother is his biggest rival. Thereâs history between them, and itâs not all rainbows and sunshine. Just because they have respect for each other doesnât mean they love the other.
âNo, youâre not Max.â This did surprise you, and it showed on your face, Lewis winked, and you shook your head. âDo you want to head out of here?â
âSure.â With that, you and Lewis turn and head out. Everyoneâs too drunk or too occupied to see your retreating figures.
Letâs just say that you enjoyed your night, Lewis isnât just good at racing. He did convince you to stay the night after everything was said and done, with his eyes half lidded and you both breathing hard it was the easiest yes youâve ever said.
You woke up alone with the shower going in the background, feeling lazy. You sat up in bed and looked out the window. The view from his room was beautiful. Youâre so lost in thought you donât realise when the water stopped running or when Lewis came in the room. He stood there looking at you, your back bare for him to see, your hair messy, the sun coming from the windows making you glow. Lewis, dressed in only his boxers, moves to the bed and slots himself behind you, his bare chest meeting your back as his arms sneak around your waist, pulling you back. You lean into his chest and take a deep breath, content with the moment. Lewisâ lips find their home where your neck meets your shoulder, placing soft feather-like kisses up and down the exposed skin, you move your head to the side giving him more room to do as he wants.
âLewis.â You moan suddenly breathless, Lewis moves his hands up your arms lightly before you wince in pain, making him stop all movements and pull away from you. You freeze and close your eyes instantly, knowing why you were in pain.
âWhatâs wrong? Did I hurt you?â Lewis asks, feeling guilt for causing you pain. You shake your head no and sigh, still not looking at him.
âNo, no, itâs not you.â Lewis looks at where his hands were and he sees the bruise on your bicep, his mind goes to last night and he thinks over his actions, did he hold your bicep, maybe squeezed a bit too hard. It definitely looks like hand marks. You stand up still naked and snatch Lewisâs shirt from the night before from the floor where you threw it and slip it on. The oversized shirt falls mid thigh, and the short sleeves come down to your elbows covering your bruise.
âWho the fuck did this to you?â Lewis follows you off the bed, you turn to look at him crossing your arms protectively, suddenly feeling self conscious, you refuse to meet his eyes and clear your throat but no words came out of your mouth. ây/n, just tell me what happened?â
âItâs nothing. He didnât mean to.â You mutter and shake your head, your hair falling into your face.
âWho? Who did it?â Lewis pleaded with you and you closed your eyes and bit your lip to stop the tears, it wasnât a secret how rough your father is especially in the RedBull garage but no one outside a few observant people(which donât include Max) know how rough he is with you.
âMy dad, but he was just angry. Heâs not like that, not anymore.â You mumble the last part, but Lewis heard it loud and clear, and just like yesterday, he surprises you. Lewis pulls you in for a hug, his tattooed arms just pulling you close, and he holds you. He just holds you.
âBloody hell, love, Iâm sorry.â Lewis says in your hair, and you raise your head to look at him, but still staying in his hold.
âYou have absolutely no reason to be sorry.â You tell him and your hands move up to his face, lightly touching his cheek, your eyes taking him in. âI donât really care.â
âIt still doesnât make it right. You shouldnât go through something like this.â Lewis says, and you shrug.
âLife isnât really fair.â He felt that thereâs more behind those words. You didnât just mean what happened the day before. Thereâs more pain in your voice, in your past, and to him, it looked like no one took the time to talk to you about them to help you through those pains. Lewis finds himself wondering why, heâs known you for less than 24 hours and all he wants to do is get to know you, uncover all your secrets, help you where you need help, support you where you need support.
âWell, if you let me, I think I can make it a little more fair.â Lewis says, deciding that this isnât the last time heâll spend time with you. He pulls back and goes to his bedside table where his phone rests.
âWhat are you talking about?â You ask him confused.
âGive me your number, Iâm taking you out next time weâre both free.â Lewis says and hands you his phone. You slowly take it and look up at him with wide eyes.
âYou want to go out with me? like on a date?â You wanted to make sure you understood him correctly.
âI do.â
âEven though you know I come with baggage.â You want to make sure he understands it wonât be easy.
âI donât think itâs baggage, but even if it was, I donât care.â Lewis gives you one of his smiles that make you weak in your knees, and you donât think twice and type in your number. Lewis instantly calls you, and your phone rings before he ends the call. âNow you also have my number, and if you ever need something, or someone or a place to just call me.â
âThank you.â
âI havenât done anything yet, love.â
âOh youâve already done a lot.â Most people would act as if nothing happened and they saw nothing, most wouldnât want to go out with you knowing thereâs a lot in your past that needs solving, most wouldnât go out with their rivalâs sister, but most arenât Lewis Hamilton, and youâre glad heâs not like the most.
You and Lewis start texting, getting to know each other. You see a side to the Mercedes driver youâve never seen before. Heâs so easy to talk to. You feel like whatever you tell him is a secret heâll take to the grave. In the couple weeks since youâve started talking youâve been more open with him than anyone else, not just about your past and growing up with Jos but about your feelings. He never judges and gives the best advice. Heâs been supportive and understanding to a point youâve asked yourself how he is real.
You asked him to keep your budding friendship (turing relationship) a secret and he agreed 100% with you, itâll cause a lot of trouble when and if it comes out, and youâre not ready for that. And for the first time in forever you donât spend your free time between races where Max is, you fly to wherever Lewis is, and so for a month you both find that time to get to know the other in a way that youâve never done before, and you find yourself being Lewisâs girlfriend and it makes you the happiest thinking about it. Heâs made you happier, and those closest to you have noticed youâre more smiley and happy those days.
Sneaking around like children, not two adults was part of the fun, but it also made it harder for you.
âWhat are you smiling at?â Kelly asks, leaning closer to you. You close your phone in an instant to the amusement of your brotherâs girlfriend. Max was in a meeting or doing something for media, so you and Kelly were having lunch in the paddock.
âNothing.â You say, and your face flushes red, making her laugh.
âCome on, I can tell youâre texting someone.â Kelly laughs and nudges you. You roll your eyes and take a sip from your drink. âWho is he?â
âNonone.â
âSo thereâs someone.â Kelly raises her eyebrows, and you sigh and nod your head. Yes, Kelly squeals and looks like sheâs ready for a gossip session.
âKelly, youâre not getting more out of me.â You tell the female, and she pouts.
âWhy? Even Max is wondering who youâre texting all the time.â Kelly is confused, and rightfully so, youâre very open with her and Max. Not the type to keep something like this a secret. Or so they thought, but how can they be 100% sure when you havenât been with anyone for years or even shown interest in anyone.
âThatâs why I canât tell you.â
âWhat? you can trust me, I wonât tell him if you don't want to.â Kelly felt offended that you didnât trust her to keep a secret. Sheâs close to you. Anyone close to Max is close to you. His friends are your friends.
âI wouldn't do that to you, if he found out you knew and didnât tell him heâll get mad.â You explain to her, wanting her to understand where youâre coming from.
âNo he wouldn't.â Kelly replies, and you give her a look making her sigh, Max is protective, and no one is good enough for you in his eyes. âOkay maybe he will be, but who could you be dating for you to be so sure heâll get mad, anyways.â
âI love you, Kells, but I canât tell you.â You both sat in silence for a bit, Kelly was thinking of any possible men you mightâve come across the last month, she started crossing some out of the list she made in her mind that you wouldnât like, before her eyes went wide.
âItâs a driver!â She shouts, and a few eyes snapped to look at you both. You choke on your drink and cough a few times. âSorry.â
âWhat the fuck Kelly, you want to tell the whole world?â You whisper shout and she looks apologetically muttering sorry.
âItâs a driver then.â She whispered and you reluctantly nod, who knew this lunch would cause you so much. âIâm not going to push you for more⊠yet.â
âWell thank god for that.â You mutter, but know that sheâll look and analyse every single interaction you have with any driver. Kelly went over the 19 drivers, crossing out those in a relationship. Nico, Kevin, Valtteri, Daniel, Checo, Carlos, Pierre, Alex, Esteban, Charles, Oscar, and George are all in a relationship. That narrows it down, but itâs still a bit, but a few are still single. Fernando, Lewis, Lance, Zhou, Lando, Yuki and Logan that left her with 7 drivers that are single, and youâre at the age that dating someone older would raise a few eyebrows and so would dating some of the younger drivers, but it wouldnât be totally out of the box. Lance is the one closest to you in age, but she doesnât think heâs your type.
After the Austin Grand Prix, Lewis makes it to your room, and a few teams booked their rooms at the same hotel, something that youâve come to appreciate. Your room isnât as big as Lewisâs but it just happened that he made it to your room, the brit, and you decided to chill and have a lazy night. The TV was on, but you both werenât focused on it, each having a glass of Almave in hand, the non alcoholic drink your new favourite and it looked like youâd never run out of it.
You just finished telling Lewis about something that happened when you were younger and still karting, telling him about all the drama that happened then and how silly it is. His arm was on the back of the sofa beides your head, your legs over his lap, and his other hand was on your thigh rubbing softly at the skin visible from your bunched up shorts.
âWhy did you stop karting?â Lewis asked, your smile from laughing wasnât all gone yet, but it did falter a bit. You suck in your lips and run your tongue over them.
âMy dad said that thereâs no place for women in motorsport and that Max will carry the family name in Formula 1.â You shrug, your head dropping a little. The hand besides your head moves to your face making you raise your head and look at him, Lewis felt bad for you but he tried not to be obvious about it, he knew you wouldn't want him to.
âI know for a fact then if you continued, youâd be kicking all out asses on track.â Lewis said softly, and you gave him a tight-lipped smile.
âYou havenât even seen me karting.â You tell him softly and find that your breath hits his face from how close youâve gotten.
âNext time we meet up, weâll do that.â Lewis said and gave your thigh a squeeze. You hum and lean closer, your lips meeting his. His lips were warm and soft, his hand moving from your cheek to the back of your head. And as always, his lips made a spark ignite inside you and left you warm and fuzzy. Soft sighs left your lips as your lips moved, Lewisâs hand moved up your thigh and over your butt, tugging you so youâd move with him until youâre standing him. You pull back just a little, your breath mingling with his, his eyes looking at you and making you fall in love with him.
âLewis.â Just the way you said his name left him breathless and needy, he pulled you down for your lips to meet again.
Youâre both disturbed when Lewisâs phone rings, you move from on top of him and he reaches over to get his phone, seeing the caller ID he gives you an apologetic look and answers the phone. You sigh sadly, feeling a bit irritated to be interrupted, but Lewis is a busy man, and she understands this.
âIâm sorry, love, but I have to go.â Lewis leans over to kiss your head before hastily gathering his things. âItâs an emergency meeting, Iâll text you when Iâm done and come back.â
âOkay, Iâll wait for you.â You say and lay back on the sofa taking out your phone to scroll through the TV is still going. Around half an hour later, your door is opened, making you raise your head and frown when you see Max walking in.
âHow did you get in?â
âI have a card.â Max shows you the door card that had your room number on it.
âWhy?â You ask him confused. He also relieved that he hadnât come in when Lewis was still here.
âYouâve been losing yours a lot lately, so I thought to just ask for one.â Max shrugged as if itâs normal, he sat down in the chair by your legs so you could look at him, you rolled your eyes at his words, not needing to ask how the front desk gave it to him. You havenât been losing your cards. Youâve been asking for an extra one to give to Lewis.
âWhatâs that?â Max asks, and you donât bother looking up from your phone.
âWhatâs what?â
âThat.â You sigh and sit up, looking to where your brother is pointing, your heart drops. Lewis forgot his watch, and itâs laying there on the side table that had a lamp on it, and itâs so very obvious not yours. The IWC Big Pilotâs Watch Perpetual Calendar âLewis Hamiltonâ Edition IW503002 is a beauty, but no way can it be yours. You curse Lewis in your mind for taking it off when he first came in. You open your mouth and close it a couple of times, trying to find words to say but coming up empty. âIâve seen this before.â
âI donât think so.â You say nervously, chuckling. Max frowns in thought as he tries to remember where he had seen the watch before.
âNo Iâve seen it, I remember the red.â Max mumbles, and the moment he remembers you can tell, his face says it all. âL-Lewis? Thatâs who youâve been seeing behind my back.â
âMax-â
âNo you had your chance to tell me, but you didnât.â Max stands up, and you follow suit. His voice is angry and irritated, a bit of betrayal in there as well. âHow could you date Lewis and not tell me how could you even date him, I canât believe youâd do something like this!â
âI didnât tell you because I knew youâd get angry, and I didnât want you to be angry.â You try to explain to him your reason, but heâs having none of that.
âBecause Iâm calm now.â Max says sarcastically.
âMax, this is why I didnât tell you.â Your hands move in frustration, one of your legs shake in anxiety, and you whisper. âI knew you wouldnât understand.â
âWhat is there to understand? Youâre sleeping with my rival.â Max shouts, it breaks you. Max may have this image as the villain in public but heâs not like that with you, heâs always been nice and loving, youâre the best thing about his childhood, the warm hug he had, the person he relayed on, the person that could always make him smile. Seeing the look in his eyes makes tears gather in yours. ây/n, I canât believe you. After everything youâre just, what? Selling yourself to Lewis-â
âMax.â
â-Do you have any idea-â
âMax.â
â-how this can affect my image-â
âMax, please.â
â-I thought I could count on you not to do something like this-â
âI didnât.â
â-Dad was right.â
âWh-what?â This just breaks you in two, completely shatters you.
âHe said that youâre an attention who-â
âOkay enough.â You say and raise your hands in the air to stop him, tears leaving your eyes freely. âPlease leave, I canât hear you anymore, I canât.â
Max fights the need to say sorry and hug you. Heâs too in his emotions, and heâs too stubborn and hardheaded to say anything.
âJust leave, please.â Max turns and leaves your room. The quality time he wanted to spend with you is ruined. The moment the door closes, he feels like his relationship with you is forever changed. It cracked, and he curses himself for being so careless with his words.

It's a Match! || 141 x reader
[ Chapter 7 ] || [ Chapter 9 ]
Pairing: Ghost x gn!Reader || 141 x gn!Reader Words: 1.1K~ Summary: While overcoming recent heartbreak, you decide to join Tinder in search of a rebound. Your friends advise to just Swipe Right indiscriminately... What happens when 4 soldiers from the same squad match with you? a/n: ghost is making a move.
Chapter 8: Awooga?
Surprisingly, your one-night stand with John last night did wonders for you. You felt energized all day and made it a point to clean everything instead of moping about like you have tended to do since your break-up with Ethan.
There were days when you considered texting him, neck deep in feelings you couldnât quite move past, trying your best to stay afloat. Four years by his side couldnât be forgotten in the blink of an eye, even if neither of you wanted anything to do with the other and had each other blocked on every platform imaginable.
Itâs 4 P.M. on Saturday and youâre laying about in your living room wearing lounge clothes, your legs spread over your coffee table, eyes lazily locked on the TV as you fiddle with your phone, twirling it in your hand.
Eventually, you find yourself getting bored⊠So you decide to open Tinder one last time. You got what you wanted out of it. John scratched that itch⊠Thereâs no need to keep it. But itâs still funny enough to judge the men on that app even if youâre no longer doing anything with them.
You start Left Swiping on every profile that comes onto your screen, silently judging each one and murmuring to yourself. You get about 15 profiles in before you find yourself bored of even that.
Sighing and getting peckish, you decide to order yourself something good for dinner from a delivery app. Then, while waiting for the notification that your driver is on his way, you return to Tinder.
You open the DM tab, finding dozens of new DMs from guys and skim through them, none of them catching your eye. If you were in the mood, youâd maybe engage in convo with one of them, maybe annoy them a little⊠But they all seem so⊠bland.
Then you find Simonâs chat lost in the influx. You click on it for a moment, smiling a bit as you spot his politeness and excess professionalism for someone thatâs on a dating app looking to get laid.
Biting your lip, your fingers glide across the keyboard as you shoot him a quick message.
you: so⊠are you thinking of ever uploading a new pic of yourself?
The Read indicator popped up under your DM almos instantly, and the bubbles indicating Simon was typing soon followed.
Simon: Look who it is. Simon: Hello to you too. Simon: No, I donât intend to do that. you: hi, sorry. x you: why not? Simon: I donât take this app seriously enough to want to show off what I look like. you: was that a dig at me for having a whole gallery? Simon: No. Simon: Unless you want it to be. đ you: đ±đ± you: SIMON DID YOU JUST USE AN EMOJI? Simon: I regret doing it now. you: NOOOO pls donât! you: it was fun!!!! Simon: Alright then. Simon: How are you feeling today?
Youâre genuinely shocked by his question and you find yourself smiling a bit.
you: iâm okay hru? Simon: Just okay? Iâm fine thanks. you: yeah! feeling lazy. Simon: You had me worried you werenât feeling well after last night.
Your cheeks warm up so quickly that you even sputter and sit up on the couch with a start.
you: you know?? Simon: Of course I know. Simon: Johnâs my captain. you: he told you??????? Simon: No. Johnâs old school. No kiss and tell. Simon: But we were all expecting heâd go home with you. Simon: Kind of an open secret. you: oh Simon: Does that bother you? you: i donât think so? you: i guess i shouldâve expected you would realize it Simon: Iâm sorry. Simon: To be fair, I can tell you that you did a great job, heâs in a much better mood. you: that is not the praise you think it is đ Simon: Iâm not used to giving praise, cut me some slack alright? you: right. i can see that. you: the whole - my team would say i push them - thing Simon: I stand by that. Simon: Iâm not very good at talking. Simon: But Iâm not a liar. you: iâve noticed you: you tend to hate being called that. Simon: Lie enough on the job. Simon: When Iâm talking to people outside of that, I like being as honest as I can be. you: i see you: sooo does that mean i can ask you things and youâll be honest in the answers? Simon: About? you: you Simon: Within reason. you: what do you look like Simon: 6ft4, blonde, brown eyes. you: thatâs it? Simon: I said âWithin reasonâ. That means I wonât give you more than I think I should. you: infuriating đ€ Simon: Thatâs life.
Just as youâre about to answer, your doorbell rings. You were so absorbed in Simonâs chat that you didnât notice your delivery driver arrived.
You slip on some shoes quickly and dash downstairs to the front door of the building to receive your food.
Once upstairs, you set your food on the table and unwrap everything, beginning to eat your Nandoâs chicken as you try to resume texting Simon one-handed.
Thatâs when you spot the message he sent you while you were busy.
Simon: Added some new pics. Simon: Donât say I never did anything for you. Simon: But Iâll take them down in 2 minutes so you better hurry up.
Eyebrows raised, you quickly click on his profile and rush to tap through to the new pictures.
The first one makes you chuckle. Of course, itâs him wearing a hoodie and a stupid mask⊠But the second one? Your jaw drops open and you find yourself swallowing dryly.
âAwoogaâŠâ You quip to yourself and giggle, amused at your own silliness as your eyes trail over every inch of exposed skin in Simonâs chest. Even if thatâs not him, even if thatâs just some⊠bloke he found online, itâs still a bloody fine picture.
Returning to the chat, you type a quick reply.
you: not bad Simon: Answered your questions? you: raised a couple more. Simon: Good. Simon: You keep them in your mind for later. you: why does it feel like youâre leaving?? Simon: Because I am. Duty calls. Simon: Iâll tell John you said 'Hi'. you: okay... you: be careful!
As soon as you sent that message you found yourself facepalming. Why do you sound like a concerned partner? You donât even know this man. Any of them really. Even if you had one of them inside of you less than 24 hours ago.
You don't dwell too much on it because soon there's a message from Simon on the screen.
Simon: Always am. Donât miss us too much.
Shaking your head, you set down your phone, locking the screen, and turning back to your peri-peri chicken and chips, eyebrows furrowed in contemplation.

Coloured Red
Summary: He likes you in his colour, just not that like that. (Jason Todd x reader)
Word Count: 2.1K
Notes: blood and injury. Hope everyone's having a good week so far! Not my favouriteeeeee Jason piece I have written but please enjoy anyways. xx
âââââââââââââàŒ»âàŒșââââââââââââââ
It wasn't supposed to happen like this.
Never like this.
He had been working out of the manor for a few days, something he was already reluctant to do. However, you had sent him off to "work" with a bright smile and a kiss on the cheek, wishing him well for whatever convention Librarians had. Instead of your boyfriend being the gruff librarian sorting returns every night, he was in fact the red masked vigilante cooped up in the cave, pacing back and forth in front of the Bat computer while Tim tried to trace their latest suspect.
Dick had called him back for some extra firepower in the latest case, and if he hadn't owed him one Jason would be back with you in a heartbeat. "Get anything?" he grunts to Tim, who's fingers are typing strings of code into the keyboard.
"Not yet," he hums, the younger man's face twitching with annoyance as the firewall warning flashes across the screen again.
"Give it time, Jay. we don't want to let them know we're onto them." comes Dick, whoâs leaning against a railing and still fully suited up from his earlier patrol. "I've checked all through The Cauldron and Southside, no trace of them there. Penguin must have closed up shop around Cobblepot Steel when he started working with his new friend. Going through great lengths to gatekeep his new buddy from us." he hums.
"Well I want to get this meet and greet over with," Jason grumbles, crossing his arms while he scuffs his boots impatiently.
"Bee in your bonnet, Red?" Dick calls and Jason scoffs.
"You put it there. You wanted me to help take 'em down while the Bat is out of town with Superscout, but you don't even know where they are. I've spent a full night just waiting for boy genius here to get a lock."
Dick puts his hands up in mock surrender. "We'll be done soon, promise. Then you can go home to your sweetheart. Hey, you can even say you came back early just to see them. I'm helping you get brownie points." he grins, nimbly dodging the hand Jason had swung out to slap the back of his head. "Where are they anyways? Their place?"
"Safehouse." Jason grunts back. "Staying at mine while I'm helping you lot. Old Gotham, near the GCPD. Besides, I told them to mark down I'd be back tonight on the calendar anyways."
Dick whistles. "Didn't think you had a place that close to the cops."
Jason just shrugs. "They're not after me, and if they were it would be somewhere they wouldn't look. Plus it's a nice distance from you all." he grumbles.
Dick pushes off the wall coming to lean over a monitor near Tim. "Well if our mystery person is teaming up with Penguin, and he isn't interested in the drug business, what is he here for?" he hums, eyes focused on the map of Gotham that Tim has pulled up. He taps the screen after a second, zooming in. "Here. Dixon Docks. We haven't checked here yet. Penguin used to smuggle through here, but it also became a bit of a meet up spot. He might have gone back to old ground."
"Yeah, but Penguin shifted his focus into drug running. Bruce put him under pretty heavy surveillance, managed to shut down a lot of his operations for a while. You really think he'd be that stupid to start trying to smuggle firearms again?" Tim piped up.
"Maybe. But Maybe its not firearms. This spot used to be a mob meeting spot. He never visited the operation personally unless-"
"Unless he wanted to order a hit." Jason cut off his older counterpart, voice becoming modulated as he fixed his mask to his face. "Seems there's a chance his new play pal is a hitman."
"For who though?" Tim asks.
"Maybe the hit isn't one Penguin is ordering. maybe the Penguin's selling info." Dick calls, testing his in earpiece before giving Jason a nod. "Me and Hood are going in to take a look. Track our location and keep the cameras on."
Tim nods while Jason and Dick head for the bikes, mounting each of their respective vehicles.
"Finally something to do." Jason groans, stretching his arms above his head before catching the cocky grin from Dick speeding past him. "Show-off." he murmurs, his own engine roaring to life as he follows suit.
They had cleared the dock pretty easily, Dick's hunch being correct. Between the two of them the middlemen and thugs were strewn across the floor of the warehouse, and Tim had already called the GCPD to come pick them up for the arrest. "No sign of our flightless friend." Jason grumbled, stepping over an unconscious thug.
"Nor our new mystery visitor." Dick concludes, tucking his escrima under his arm as he goes through the stack of papers at the makeshift desk tucked behind some shipping containers. Jason has known the eldest robin enough to know when he was worried, and the tight way he now held his body was a clear sign. "You find something?" he asks, boots thudding as the come to stand beside him.
"You think Oz was beginning to catch on?" Dick asks quietly, turning the page to show Jason the blurry CCTV photo of Bruce, a crude cowl and ears drawn over the image in sharpie.
"Shit," Jason breathed, taking some of the papers from Dick and beginning to flick through it. "This is all of us." He confirms, worry beginning to gnaw at his bones. There were photos of Tim leaving the city library and entering the Wayne Tower. Photos of Dick back in Bludhaven in a police uniform, photos of him at galas. Photos of Damian at school and meeting with Alfred. The more he flipped through them the more his heart dropped. There was a photo for nearly every 'apprentice' of Batman, surrounded by question marks.
"Whoever is joining the dots isn't fully convinced of it themselves." he murmurs, blood freezing as he sees a photo of himself there. A photo with you on his arm next to him. Dick comes to peer over at it, cursing under his breath.
"Hood, don't panic-" he tries to soothe, but Jason is already pushing past him to tear at more of the documents on the desk. He rifles through the papers, the sound of approaching sirens and Nightwing's urging to leave the scene deafened by the ringing in his ears. In his tightly clenched hands there was a leger, with a list of addresses. In the middle, was his address. The address he had given you, highlighted in yellow.
"We need to go." Dick urges, hurrying him to mount his bike. Jason jaw clenches, and he shoves the piece of paper into his brothersâ hands.
"Yeah. We do." he grits out, but he hopes Dick can't hear the sheer fear held behind his teeth. His bike speeds off, roaring through the side street they came on as he reroutes for Old Gotham. Dick looks down, eyes wandering over the red written date next to the highlighted address, tonight date. "Jesus," he breathes out, quickly following behind his brother before he does something reckless.
Jason doesn't think that he'd ever driven that fast since he'd been on the run from Bruce, throwing the bike into park so violently outside his apartment that the tires burnt as they squealed. Dick wasn't too far behind him, calling out for him to wait in between talking to Tim on the other end of his earpiece. His heart is thudding in his ears, hands feeling cold as he scales the stairs to the fourth floor, knocking on the door rapidly. He didn't care he was in his full suit. He could make some bullshit excuse if you were fine, claiming some noise disturbance or the wrong door.
But if he wasn't?
Then someone was going to fear the fact he was already suited up.
"I told you to wait, Hood-" Dick snaps at him, slightly out of breath from having to run behind him. Jason doesn't listen, shoulder slamming into the door when you don't come to answer.
"Don't you have the key?" Nightwing hisses to him.
"Left it in my civvies." he grunts, stumbling slightly as the door gives way. "I wasn't really expecting toâŠ" he trails off, bile rising in his throat and blood draining from his face. Dick pushes in next to him, still scolding. "You can't just go in like this-" he cuts himself off, catching sight of what Jason was burning into his brain. "Oh no, Jay..." he whispers, but Jason is already moving to your side.
His hands come to your head, softly cradling it in his large palms. Two fingers come to press against your neck, his breathing evening out as he finds a weak pulse. "They're still kicking." He grunts out, other hand coming to cradle the back of your head. He closes his eyes trying to scrub the image of you lying there in the living room, sprawled on the carpet surrounded by the shards of the broken window and white rug drinking your blood.
Your eyes flicker weakly and you make a faint cry when he presses down on the wound by your ribs, a sound that tears him up inside. "Shhh," he tries to say softly, but the modulator makes it robotic, stripping the emotion from it. "I gotta put pressure on it. Did you see who did it?" he asks. He can faintly hear Dick calling for Robin on the end of the commlink, calling for paramedics to come to his address.
He hates how warm his hands feel, gloves heating up as if they were stealing the life force from out of you. Blood is flecked across your lips from the spray, faintly mumbling the words, "didnât see them."
He nods along. "Thatâs okay, thatâs okay." he murmurs, but he wasn't sure who he was telling that to.
"Red HoodâŠ" you groan out, hand coming the grip his wrist as he pushes firmer on the bullet wound. Your fingers are bloody, smearing the crimson across his suit. "You gottaâŠyou gotta find my boyfriend," you cough weakly. "They were here for him. Heâs justâŠhe's just a librarianâŠ" your eyes tear up, throat swelling with the weight of your words. "He was just coming back tonightâŠoh godâŠyou have to find him⊠what if they-" you sob, causing your face to scrunch up at the pain that ripples through your body. "I wannaâŠI wanna see him."
Jason's heart is tearing into pieces as Dick kneels to your other side, hands coming to your non-wounded side as he preps the area, Tim faintly heard giving instructions on how to stabilise you until the paramedics arrive. Jason shakes his head, fighting back tears. Despite the side glance he gets from Nightwing, he pulls one hand up to his face, feeling for the latch under his jaw to release his mask.
When he pulls it away his eyes are red, tears already built in the corners. His lips have a tremble that hasn't been felt since he was in the single digits on the streets, and his hairline is beaded with sweat from worry. He offers you a weak smile, unable to stop the shooting pain that wracks his mind watching the hazy confusion on your face.
"Jay?" you whisper, the word more mouth than sound. He nods reluctantly.
It wasnât supposed to be like this.
Oh god, it wasnât supposed to go like this.
He dreamt of the day that he could tell you his identity, of his real profession. He imagined all the best scenarios of you accepting him, of letting him spin you around the kitchen when he picked you up by the waist like he did so often. Of telling you while you both read together on the couch, your legs pulled across his lap. He never imagined the bad scenarios. He pushed those to the back of his mind. But as you reached up with bloodstained fingers, dragging the sticky red across his cheek in that oh so familiar motion, he knew right then that this was the worst situation imaginable.
He lets his tears wash the red from your fingers, trying to blink them out of his eyes so he could focus on saving you.
"Hold on, sweetheart." he murmured weakly, desperately praying for the wailing of the siren to reach his ears.
He had always said how much he loved red, loved you in the colour. Loved you in his colour.
Now he was thinking he never wanted to see you bathed in this much red ever again.

the night had settled into a quiet lull, the kind of silence that stretched on and made time feel endless. youâd been parked outside the suspectâs house for hours, watching the shadows play tricks on your eyes while spencer sat beside you, deeply engrossed in a book heâd brought alongâone that had nothing to do with the case.
you glanced over at him, unable to resist a little teasing. âyou know, weâre supposed to be watching the house, not reading âwar and peaceâ for the millionth time.â
âitâs âthe brothers karamazovâ,â he corrected without looking up, his tone dry but familiar. âand iâve only read it four times, not a million. itâs called multitasking.â
you chuckled, shaking your head. âright. because when i think of multitasking, i think of spencer reid reading existential russian literature while catching criminals.â
he looked up then, a small smile tugging at his lips. âwell, itâs a good thing iâm here to broaden your definition of multitasking, isnât it?â
you rolled your eyes but couldnât help the grin spreading across your face. âsure, sure. meanwhile, iâm stuck doing all the actual work. keeping an eye out, staying alert⊠maybe you should take notes.â
he made a show of sighing, marking his place in the book before setting it down. âi hate to break it to you, but iâm perfectly capable of watching and reading at the same time. some of us can do more than one thing.â
âoh, is that so?â you arched a brow, leaning in slightly. âthen tell me, genius, whatâs happening at the suspectâs house right now?â
spencer paused, his gaze shifting to the darkened windows across the street, then back to you. âthe lights in the living room went off about fifteen minutes ago. bedroom lights turned on shortly after, but no oneâs left the house since then. thereâs a dog barking a few houses down, and someone two blocks over keeps playing the same verse of âtake on meâ on the piano. badly, i might add.â
you blinked, momentarily stunned. âokay, first of all, how do you evenânever mind, i donât want to know. and second, why would anyone ever play just one verse of âtake on meâ? what kind of psychopath are we dealing with here?â
spencer chuckled, a real laugh that lit up his face in a way that made something warm bloom in your chest. ânow thatâs the real mystery,â he agreed. âmaybe we should call in a second team to handle it.â
you snorted, shaking your head. âonly if theyâre prepared for a psychological profile of a frustrated piano player. thatâs definitely outside my area of expertise.â
âmine too, surprisingly,â he said, his smile softening as his eyes met yours. âthough iâm sure we could figure it out together.â
your smile matched his, and for a moment, the banter fell away. it was always like thisâeasy, comfortable, like youâd known each other forever. bickering was your default, but underneath it, there was something else. something steady. something you never quite acknowledged.
âhey,â you said, breaking the quiet but keeping your voice low, almost conspiratorial. âbe honest. are you actually glad we got stuck on this stakeout together, or are you secretly wishing morgan was here instead?â
spencer tilted his head, pretending to consider it. âhmm, well, morgan wouldnât keep up a running commentary of every single shadow that moves, so that would be a point in his favor.â
you scoffed, nudging his arm with your elbow. âyou love my running commentary. admit it.â
he grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners in that way that always made your stomach flutter. âokay, maybe iâd miss it a little,â he conceded. âjust donât let it go to your head.â
âi knew it!â you crowed, leaning closer with a triumphant smile. âyouâre not as tough as you pretend to be, dr. reid. deep down, you actually like having me around.â
his smile turned softer, almost fond, as he met your gaze. âmaybe more than i let on,â he said quietly, the teasing edge slipping from his voice.
âyou know,â you murmured, voice just above a whisper, âfor a genius, you can be pretty slow sometimes.â he turned a page slowly, clearly fighting back a smile. âyouâre just jealous because you didnât think to bring a book.â
âwhy would i bring a book when i could spend my time annoying you?â you shot back, grinning when he finally glanced over at you, his eyes alight with a mix of amusement and exasperation.
âmission accomplished, then,â he replied dryly. âyouâve certainly succeeded in distracting me.â
you let out a laugh. âitâs a talent, what can i say?â you leaned in a little closer, your voice dropping to a lower, more playful tone. âadmit itâyou like it when i distract you.â
he hummed, pretending to consider your words as he closed his book and set it on the dashboard. âi suppose it does have its perks,â he said, turning his body slightly to face you. his knee brushed against yours, a casual touch that sent a familiar thrill through you. there it wasâthe shift. youâd felt it countless times before, that subtle change in the air between you. it always started with harmless banter, a little back-and-forth that led to lingering touches, heated looks, and eventually, lips pressed together in the dark of the car or the shadows of a motel room. friends with benefits, thatâs what you called it, though even that seemed too formal. it was more like an unspoken agreement, a mutual understanding that sometimes, the line between friends and something more blurred when the nights got long and lonely.
you arched an eyebrow at him, leaning in even closer. âand what perks would those be, exactly?â
spencerâs eyes flicked down to your lips, his smile turning a bit more mischievous. âthe kind that gets me out of reading the same case notes for the third time.â
you chuckled, your heart picking up its pace as you closed the remaining distance between you. âif thatâs what it takes to keep you from quoting tolstoy at me againâŠâ
before you could finish, spencerâs lips were on yours, warm and insistent, like heâd been waiting for this. his hand slid up to cup the back of your neck, pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss. it wasnât the first time, not by a long shot, but it still sent a shiver down your spine the way it always did. he kissed you like it was something he needed, not just something to pass the time.
you tilted your head, smiling against his lips. âso, is this how you imagined the stakeout going?â
he pulled back just enough to murmur, âitâs a pretty standard ending for us, donât you think?â
you laughed softly, your breath mingling with his. âi guess we have a type, huh?â
âapparently,â he replied, his voice low and teasing as his thumb brushed along your jaw. âcanât say iâm complaining, though.â
you hummed in agreement, fingers finding their way into his hair as you brought his lips back to yours. âgood. because iâd hate for you to get bored out here,â you whispered between kisses, your words half-teasing, half-sincere.
âi can think of worse ways to spend a stakeout,â he murmured, his breath hot against your skin. his lips trailed down to your neck, and you let your head fall back, a satisfied smile spreading across your face.
you felt spencerâs lips brushing against your neck, sending a shiver down your spine. his kisses were warm and deliberate, a welcome distraction from the long hours of the stakeout. you leaned into his touch, but a nagging thought pulled at the edge of your mind, breaking through the haze of pleasure.
âspence,â you murmured, pulling back just enough to meet his gaze. âshould we really be doing this right now? i mean, weâre on a stakeout. thereâs a chance the unsub could show up any minute.â
spencerâs eyes flickered with amusement, a faint smile curling at the corners of his lips. âoh, come on,â he said softly, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. âweâve been monitoring this place for hours. weâve got approximately 48 minutes before the unsubâs next predicted move.â
you raised an eyebrow, trying to read his expression. â48 minutes? and how do you know that?â
he leaned in, his breath warm against your ear as he whispered, âbased on the patterns of his previous crimes, the time between his actions has been pretty consistent. itâs a safe bet weâve got a little leeway.â
you let out a soft laugh, shaking your head. âso, youâre telling me that youâve calculated the exact amount of time we have before we need to get back to being all business? kinda sexy youâve calculated the timing on this out i must say..â
spencerâs eyes widened slightly, and he blinked at you, momentarily thrown off. âsexy? you find profiling talk sexy?â
you nodded, your gaze never leaving his. âyeah, itâs like youâre making crime analysis sound intriguing and⊠well, a little hot.â
he chuckled, a warm, genuine laugh that sent a thrill through you. âiâll have to remember that. maybe i should include more of that in my briefing sessions.â
you grinned, leaning in to press a quick kiss to his lips. âjust donât let the team catch on. we donât need them getting ideas.â
spencerâs fingers worked on the buttons of your shirt, his touch lingering with a hint of teasing. âyou think theyâd actually believe itâs my secret weapon?â
âoh, absolutely,â you replied with a smirk, helping him with his shirt. âmorgan would probably have a field day with that.â
spencerâs shirt joined yours on the floor as he flashed a mischievous grin. âif that happens, itâs on you. youâre the one who brought up the idea of sexy profiling.â
âguilty as charged,â you said, pushing his trousers down with a playful nudge. âbut you have to admit, youâve got a way of making it sound pretty compelling.â
he raised an eyebrow, his fingers brushing against your thigh. âcompelling, huh? is that the new standard for our stakeouts?â âmaybe,â you said, leaning in closer. âor maybe itâs just a nice change of pace.â
spencerâs lips curved into a grin as he pulled you in for another kiss, his hands sliding around your waist. âi can live with that.â you responded with a playful glint in your eye, your fingers brushing against his chest as you shifted closer. with a confident move, you straddled his lap, your body aligning perfectly with his. the shift brought you eye to eye, a spark of heat dancing between you. spencerâs breath hitched slightly, his hands finding their place on your hips as he adjusted to the new closeness. âi see youâre not wasting any time,â he murmured, his voice a low, appreciative rumble.
you chuckled softly, your hands sliding up to rest on his shoulders. âwhy wait? weâve got a limited window here.â
spencerâs breath hitched slightly, his hands finding their place on your hips. as he adjusted to the new closeness, his fingers slowly slid down, grazing the fabric of your skirt. the sensation of his touch against your skin made you shiver with anticipation. his hands wandered gently, exploring the curve of your hips and the edges of your skirt. his touch was light but deliberate, moving with an almost curious intensity as he traced the contours of your body. you could feel his fingers inching upwards, brushing softly against the bare skin of your thighs.
you pouted, a playful frown tugging at your lips as you looked down at him. âyouâre really going to tease me like this?â
spencer met your gaze with a mix of amusement and warmth. âneed you to use your words pretty girl.â
you raised an eyebrow, a smirk forming on your lips. âoh, is that how itâs going to be?â
he nodded, his touch growing more deliberate but still teasingly slow. âabsolutely. tell me what you want.â
you bit your lip, the playful challenge clear in your eyes. âi want you to stop teasing and actuallyââ
before you could finish, spencer leaned in, his lips brushing against yours as his hands continued their exploration. his touch finally met your soaked core over your underwear, sending a jolt of sensation through you. his whisper against your lips was soft but insistent. âuse your words. tell me exactly what you want.â
you parted your lips, your breath coming in soft, needy gasps. âtouch me⊠please.â
spencerâs eyes darkened with desire as he heard your plea. his fingers slipped under the edge of your underwear, meeting the dampness of your core. he let out a low curse, his breath hitching. âfuck, youâre so wet. i should really explain the time management of our cases and unsub patterns more often if-â realizing he was losing focus, spencer shifted his attention back to you. he let out a soft curse, his fingers slipping inside you with a deliberate, smooth motion. the sudden, intimate contact made you gasp, the sensation warm and intense. spencer's fingers moved with a focused precision, sliding inside you with a smooth, deliberate motion. the warmth of his touch and the rhythmic pressure made your breath hitch, a soft whine escaping your lips as the sensation intensified.
he pressed his fingers deeper, his hand moving with a steady, measured rhythm. each thrust was controlled and purposeful, designed to maximize the pleasure that rippled through you. his palm rested firmly against your core, the heat from his hand mingling with the warmth of your skin.
as you whimpered softly, your breath coming in short, shuddering gasps, spencer leaned closer, his breath hot against your ear. âyouâre doing so well,â he murmured, his voice a low, intimate rumble that sent a thrill down your spine. his thumb brushed lightly against you, adding a delicate pressure that made you whine again, the sound filled with both need and satisfaction.
you bit your lip, struggling to find the words through the haze of pleasure. âspence⊠i want to feel you. i wantââ
he cut you off gently, his breath warm against your ear as he whispered, âi know. just give me a moment.â his fingers continued their rhythmic dance, his touch a tantalizing blend of warmth and pressure.
but as your need became more urgent, your voice grew more insistent. âplease, i need to feel you inside me.â
spencerâs gaze grew more intense, filled with a deep, hungry longing, and he pulled his fingers away slowly, his expression a mix of affection and eagerness. âalright,â he said softly, his voice thick with desire. âiâm here.â
he reached into his wallet, retrieving a condom with a practiced ease. his lips curved into a small, knowing smile as he prepared it, a thought crossing his mind. it was probably because of you that heâd made it a habit to carry them during casesâan adjustment made in response to your playful insistence on being prepared. he tore open the wrapper and readied himself, then guided you gently but firmly into position. his hands were steady on your hips, helping you align perfectly.
as you settled into position, your breath quickening with anticipation, you glanced at him, a playful edge to your voice. âhow much time do we have left?â
spencerâs eyes remained locked on yours as he checked the time. âforty minutes and thirty-two secondsâoh fuck.â the expletive slipped out as you slid onto him, the sudden, intense sensation making his breath hitch.
you leaned in closer, your breaths coming in short, heated bursts as you adjusted to the rhythm. the space between you was charged with electricity, each movement synchronized with a growing intensity.
âdonât stop,â you whispered, your voice trembling slightly with pleasure.
spencerâs fingers dug into your hips, his movements becoming more deliberate as he matched your pace. âso pretty like thisâŠâ he replied, his voice low and intense. âso fucking pretty.â
as the urgency and desire between you built, spencerâs breath quickened, his hands guiding you with a steady, firm grip. each thrust was met with a soft, satisfied gasp from you, the rhythm between you becoming a fluid, intimate dance.
âdoing so good for me baby,â spencer murmured, his voice barely more than a breath as he leaned in to kiss you, his lips brushing against yours with a heated, passionate intensity. his touch was everywhereâhis hands on your hips, his fingers trailing along your sides.
your fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer as you both lost yourselves in the sensation. the carâs confined space only seemed to heighten the intimacy of the moment, making each touch and movement feel more intense, more immediate.
with each passing second, the urgency of the situation only added to the thrill. spencerâs focus was entirely on you, his eyes locked onto yours as he pushed you both towards the edge. âweâre almost there,â he breathed, his voice thick with desire and determination. âjust a little longer.â
the combination of his touch, his kisses, and the urgency of the moment drove you both closer to the peak. the pleasure built steadily, every sensation amplified in the charged atmosphere. you could feel yourself unraveling, every nerve ending sensitized and every touch magnified. the sensation of him inside you was electrifying, a wave of intense pleasure crashing over you with each movement. your breaths came in ragged gasps, your body trembling as you felt yourself falling apart.
âspencer,â you gasped, your voice breaking with the intensity of the experience. your grip on his shoulders tightened, your entire body tensing as the pleasure reached its peak.
spencerâs eyes were locked onto yours, a mix of awe and desire reflected in his gaze. âi know, i know, iâm almost there,â he murmured, his voice a low, reverent whisper. his hands moved with careful precision, his touch both guiding and responding to your reactions.
as the climax hit, you felt a powerful release, your body shuddering and trembling with the intensity of the moment. your voice broke into a series of breathless cries, each one a testament to the overwhelming pleasure you were experiencing.
as the intensity of the moment enveloped you, spencerâs grip tightened on your hips, his breaths coming in sharp, uneven gasps. the way you had fallen apart, your body trembling with pleasure, had driven him to the brink.
his movements became more urgent, his focus solely on the sensation of being inside you, feeling your warmth and responsiveness. you could see the struggle in his eyes, the way his expression shifted from focused desire to complete surrender. âgod, iâm close,â he gasped, his voice thick with a mix of urgency and satisfaction. his hands moved more fervently, his rhythm driven by the overwhelming sensations coursing through him.
as you clung to him, your body still trembling from your release, spencerâs movements became erratic. the pleasure built within him until he could no longer hold back. with a series of deep, shuddering breaths, he finally came undone, his body shivering with the force of his climax.
he buried his face in the crook of your neck, his breaths ragged and hot against your skin. his hands still rested on your hips, holding you close as he rode out the final waves of his release.
as the intensity of the moment gradually faded, spencerâs touch softened. he pulled you close, his hands gently brushing over your skin as he helped you both come down from the high. his breath was still uneven, but his touch was tender and reassuring.
âare you okay?â he asked softly, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face with a mix of concern and tenderness.
you nodded, a contented smile forming. âyeah, iâm fine. you?â
spencer chuckled, slipping on his shirt. âwell, weâve got approximately 22 minutes to spare.â
you raised an eyebrow, pulling on your top. âand what are we going to do with those 22 minutes?â
he smirked, buttoning his jacket. âwell, i could use a quick breather. maybe we can discuss how i should properly schedule my case briefings.â
you laughed, adjusting your clothes. âsounds like a plan. just make sure you donât forget to factor in the importance of effective timing.â spencerâs grin widened as he straightened his collar. âduly noted. next time, iâll make sure to account for every possible variable.â

tw: cheating, car accident
Being John's assistant and girlfriend was hard sometimes. Okay, a lot of the time. Holidays were missed. Special occasions put on back burners. But when he was home, John made every effort to make it up to you. At least, he usually did.
You took care of their paperwork for the most part, submitting their reports once they were turned in with details of their mission. You made a point never to read them. You'd made that mistake once and gotten a first-hand account of how Johnny had shoved a grenade down someone's throat and then stood back to watch.
They were your boys, but that didn't mean they were stable. Simon liked killing people with his bare hands. Johnny liked to watch them explode. Gaz liked to wittle them down to nothing during interrogation(torture).
But your John? Well, he made sure his shots provided the most suffering. Shooting out the knees first, then the elbows, shoulders, spine and then finally the head. He had no issues getting the headshot, but liked to take his time.
With you, though? Oh with you they are protective and gentle. Harm almost never befell you with them around. The worst that had happened since the beginning of your relationship with John (and your indoctrination into their group) was that you'd stubbed your own toe on a chair you hadn't pushed in. It was your own fault really, love.
The team had returned the day before your birthday. What a birthday present, right? Wrong. As you greeted them on the tarmac with warm meals waiting in the car, each one gave you one armed hugs. John was last, pulling you to his side but not saying anything.
You could tell they were exhausted and that something hadn't gone quite right on their mission. They were always extra quiet and morose on those days, usually breaking out of it with a good meal and a decent night of rest.
That wouldn't be the case when you woke up the next morning next to...an empty bed? Usually, the day after he returned, John would sleep in, catching up on the hours of sleep he hadn't been able to get.
And went you puttered out into the rest of the apartment, you would find it empty. Boots, keys, and wallet were gone. Boonie hat missing from it's spot on the hook by the door. Maybe he was just out getting things.
He'd never missed a birthday if he was home and always made it up to you if he wasn't. So you waited. Took a shower, pampered yourself with the new body scrub you'd purchased just for this day.
When John wasn't back even a couple hours later, you headed up to the base as you felt the first prickles of anger rising on the back of your neck. You brought a lunch with you, an excuse for being there on your day off.
"Oh, just bringing Captain Price is lunch. Silly man forgot it again."
And so they let you in. No one questioned you, giving you warm smiles and well wishes. Some even wishing you a happy birthday for which you thanked them.
Stepping into John's office always made you cringe. It was an organized person's nightmare. Papers strewn everywhere, dirty coffee mugs left around sporadically, cigar ash filling the tray but also filtered around it like he was in a hurry. He wasn't like this at home, so you let him have his space at work the way he wanted it.
Except he wasn't in there. Keys and wallet, sure. So you knew he was on base. Leaving the warm meal on his desk, you meandered out to find the gym where you thought maybe they were sparring, getting rid of excess adrenaline from their mission.
No one there. At least, no one who knew where Captain Price was.
You spent the entire work day looking for him and when you never found him, you left the base. You end up stopping to grab a little cake for yourself and a bottle of wine, setting up at the coffee table.
And when you wake the next morning, you're still on the couch and the living room is a mess. And there's still no boots by the door.
So you go to work on your own (when John would normally drive you). You eat lunch on your own (when the entire team would usually join you in the mess hall). You drop off papers outside John's door (when you would normally go inside and leave them on his desk).
And you went home alone.
That was when you noticed some of his clothes were missing as was his duffel. You slept alone that night. And the night after. And the night after that.
By the time the next week rolled around and you'd slept alone for four nights, you were on edge and furiously upset. Not a word from your boyfriend of three years or his team.
And then the calls stopped going through. And the texts. So you called Laswell who was actually one of your best friends at this point, as was her wife.
"They're on another mission, hun. John didn't tell you?" "John hasn't spoken to me since they got back from the last one." "That bastard. I'm sorry. Unfortunately, they're already gone and I can't get you in contact with them until they're back." "I know. Just...tell him I love him?" "Absolutely." You went to work and did your job. When the taskforce was on mission, you were used for general paperwork needs in other departments since there wasn't much for you to do with them gone.
You went home alone and it felt wrong. Everything felt wrong.
It took another two months for them to return. But you weren't waiting for them on the tarmac. You were up to your eyeballs in new recruit uniform requests and even though you knew what time it was, you couldn't find it in yourself to care much.
Kate had been able to contact John and give him your message, but he never gave her one to return to you. And that had rubbed you the wrong way.
Forgetting your birthday was one thing. Disappearing and not telling you that they were going on another mission was another. But his silence was what hurt the most. Everything had been perfect when he'd left for the first mission.
It was hours later when you laid in bed that you heard the keys jingle against the lock. They wouldn't work, not the ones he had anyways. Knocking followed and you rolled over, throwing your pillow over your head to block out the banging and the sound of his voice filtering through the wood.
It stopped surprisingly quickly and you sighed, knowing you'd have to face him the next day at work.
You did. Sort of. You saw him when you came in, immediately turning to your office when he looked up. You stayed there all day, eating your lunch there and only leaving for bathroom breaks.
Unfortunately, you had some forms that needed to be turned in before you left but they required his signature. You didn't bother knocking as you went into his office, teeth grinding and prepared to be as short as possible. You weren't expecting the sight before you.
Your boyfriend leaned back in his office chair, eyes squeezed shut and grunting quietly with one of his own men between his thick, burly thighs. You could see the mohawk just above the desk, the sounds coming from a man you considered a brother ripping more holes into your psyche.
With a gasp, you dropped the papers and fled from the room, immediately grabbing your purse and fleeing from the building.
You could hear them calling your name, but you kept going. You'd have to find a new job or transfer, but that was a small price if it meant getting away from the only family you had.
But they weren't your family, were they? They were a family on their own. They obviously didn't need you. They leaned on each other in the field and at home. You took care of them, sure, but it wasn't enough apparently.
You got home and packed your bags, leaving behind anything that reminded you of the team or John. You left the keys in the lock with a post it stuck to the door.
"Go to hell, John."
You got back in the car and called Laswell, voice surprisingly even for what was going on.
"I need a transfer, Kate. Immediately." "Whoa, what happened? What's going on?" "He's cheating on me." Calm. Collected. Numb. "Excuse me?" "You heard me. With Soap. Probably the lot of them."
You didn't get to hear what she replied with as a semi plowed into the driver's side of your car.
I just want you all to know; this was supposed to be happy. It was going to end with a cute surprise party and apologies from everyone and nobody died. Oops, sorry.

I was angry. I'm still angry. But sadness and exhaustion have overtaken that anger, and I have A LOT to say about this.
Dead Boy Detectives is a very special show to me. It occupies a ridiculously large place in my heart, and it's brought me joy in a way that only a few pieces of media ever have. When I watched it for the first time, Edwin Payne had my heart within minutes. By the end of episode one, Charles Rowland did, too.
It meant a lot to me, seeing such wonderful and nuanced queer characters brought to life in the type of paranormal story I have always loved. In these past months, Edwin and Charles have felt like real friends to me, and to never see them again without a satisfying conclusion to their story is something I have not truly processed. Same for Niko and Crystal and The Cat King - they should be back. But I haven't fully processed it yet, that they're not coming back, and yet I am still aggreived.
@netflix is, at this point, so fucking gagged on capitalism's dick that they're not even pretending to care about art anymore. Dead Boy Detectives is genuinely masterfully made on just about every level. The actors did a phenomenal job and I will be following all their careers heavily. Steve, Beth, and the writing team crafted an incredible tale. The sets, the lighting, the props, the effects were all on point. This was a well-constructed program, and you could tell that everyone involved with the project gave it their all because they cared so deeply.
(Also my heart breaks for the whole cast, but it's hardcore hurting for George since this was not only his first screen role but one he clearly thought he would be keeping as of two weeks ago. He seemed so secure. I hate this for him.)
In addition to being a good show, DBDA had good reception. It's got a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, was on the Top 10 for several weeks, got 4.7 million views within week one, and was getting daily articles posted on various review sites with NOTHING but praise. The fandom is incredibly active. We trend on Tumblr like five times a week and on Twitter regularly as well.
THE. SCRIPT. FOR. SEASON. 2. WAS. WRITTEN.
What the fuck happened?
Idiot executives at @netflix, choking on the dick of capitalism, probably just thought that they wouldn't get new subscribers for a second season of an existing show that didn't rake in Bridgerton-level cash. That's how they work - people who are interested in it are already subscribers, so who the fuck cares about them? Better to make some other shit, hope new people subscribe, and maybe that'll be a Bridgerton-level hit.
But also, Netflix has fun little trends to look into. And, when you look at the lineup of shows Netflix has canceled, they are overwhelmingly queer. The homophobia of @netflix and their operatives is clearly boundless, and it hits here really badly because this show was clearly made with a queer audience in mind. It was one of the most authentic pieces of queer media I have ever experienced, if not THE most authentic pieces of queer media that I have ever experienced.
It's fucking ridiculous that Netflix canceled a show that they commissioned a completed script of months ago. It sucks that they decided that their existing subscribers, their queer subscribers, did not matter.
Edwin and Charles are ours now. Well, of course, they're George's and Jayden's respectively, but the characters are no longer Netflix's to use and throw out. They're ours now, our fandom's, and we all love them so much.
And we deserved to see more of them, and we deserved to see their love story play out onscreen, but I for one am not going anywhere. Let's give Edwin and Charles - and the rest of the gang - millions of versions of the stories and endings that Netflix deprived them of.

â doesn't understand this is a LITTLE LEAGUE soccer game
you didn't understand why children's soccer games had to be played in the middle of summer at the hottest time imaginable. while you were silently suffering from the heat, your husband was far too into the game going on. "Come on, Kazuki! Get in there!" Isagi's voice boomed across the field, startling some of the other parents. Your cheeks flushed with a mix of pride and embarrassment as you gave him a gentle nudge. "Yoichi, they're just kids," you whispered, trying to temper his competitive spirit. "Let them have fun." every game day was like this. isagi would get so intense over kazuki, who was spectacular for his age, that he would forget where he was for a bit. there were literally other kids sitting down and picking flowers, it was never as serious as your pro soccer player husband believed. Kazuki, his eyes shining with determination, managed to dribble past an opponent and take a shot at the goal. The ball soared through the air and... missed. Isagi groaned loudly, drawing curious and amused glances from the other parents. "Come on, Kazuki! You can do better than that!" Isagi yelled, his fists clenched. You placed a hand on his arm, giving him a warning look. "Yoichi, relax. He's trying his best." with that, the game was over. kazuki's team had still won 3-2, but you could tell that your son was disappointed in himself over the last shot. Kazuki ran over to you both, his face flushed with something that looked like embarrassment and shame. "You did great, Kazuki!" you said, kneeling down to hug him. "We're so proud of you." Isagi crouched beside you, ruffling Kazuki's hair. "You were awesome out there, buddy. I just got a little carried away. Sorry if I embarrassed you." maybe isagi got a little too into the games, but he always apologized after, it had become somewhat of a ritual at this point. " it's fine! did you see my super cool dribbling? uncle bachira taught me!!" yeah, your husband's enthusiasm got the better of him sometimes, but if there was one thing you knew for certain: kazuki couldn't be prouder of his dad and isagi couldn't be prouder of kazuki.

â girl dad, girl dad, GIRL FREAKING DAD
â constantly doing your daughters hair
â you come home from work to find the both of them with butterfly clips in their hair at least 3 days out of the week
You pushed open the front door, feeling the weight of the dayâs stress clinging to your shoulders. It had been one of those days at work where everything seemed to go wrong, and all you wanted was to collapse on the couch and forget about it all. As you stepped into the living room, you were greeted by a heartwarming sight that instantly began to melt away the tension that you'd felt in your shoulders. There, sprawled out on the floor, were Bachira and your daughter, Sora, both fast asleep. The room was a delightful mess of colored markers, sketchbooks, and an array of hair accessories scattered around them. You couldn't help but smile at the sight of Bachira with his hair adorned in a myriad of butterfly clips and sparkly barrettes, clearly the result of a spirited father-daughter play session. Soraâs hair was similarly decorated, her small hand still clutching a purple clip. Carefully, you tiptoed closer, trying not to disturb their peaceful slumber. As you knelt beside them, you noticed the soft rise and fall of their chests, their expressions serene and content. You reached out to gently remove a clip from Bachiraâs hair. making precautions so it wouldn't get tangled in, but as you did, his eyes fluttered open. He blinked up at you, a sleepy but mischievous smile spreading across his face. âHey there,â he whispered, his face adorning his usual childish grin. âRough day?â You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat. âYeah, but seeing you two like this makes it so much better.â Bachira sat up slowly, careful not to wake Sora. He pulled you into a gentle hug, his warmth and the familiar scent of him providing a comforting balm to your frazzled nerves. âWe had a lot of fun,â he murmured into your hair. âSora wanted to have a âbeauty salonâ day. I think Iâm her favorite customer.â Sora stirred beside you, her eyes slowly opening. She blinked sleepily at you both, then broke into a wide smile. âMommy, youâre home! Look at Daddyâs hair! I made him so pretty!â You leaned down to kiss her forehead. âYou did an amazing job, sweetheart. I love it.â Sora giggled, sitting up and wrapping her small arms around your neck. âCan we do your hair next, Mommy?â You laughed, feeling the last of the dayâs stress melt away completely. âAbsolutely. But first, how about we clean up a little and get some dinner?â In that moment, surrounded by the people you loved most, you knew that no matter how stressful the days could be, you would always have this beautiful, chaotic sanctuary to come home to.
°ââ.àłàż*: RENSUKE KUNIGAMI
â has always wanted to be a hero
â having his son made that dream become a reality
â will be playing in his pro games and points to the family section you and your son are sitting in
â plays his heart out for you two
The stadium was buzzing with excitement as fans filled the stands, the atmosphere electric with anticipation. You held your son's hand tightly as you made your way to the family section, both of you decked out in Kunigami's team colors. Your son, Haru, was practically bouncing with excitement, his eyes wide as he took in the sight of the massive stadium.
"Mom, look! Thereâs Dad!" Haru pointed eagerly towards the field, where Kunigami was warming up with his teammates. His hero, his dad, looked every bit the powerful and determined athlete he admired so much.
You smiled, giving Haru's hand a gentle squeeze. "Yes, there he is. Are you excited to watch him play?" Haru nodded vigorously, his face lit up with joy. "He's gonna score a goal today, I just know it!"
As the game began, you settled into your seats, Haru practically on the edge of his. The first half was intense, with both teams displaying incredible skill and determination. Kunigami was in top form, his presence on the field commanding and inspiring.
Then, in the second half, the moment you and Haru had been waiting for arrived. Kunigami received the ball, skillfully maneuvering past the defenders with a combination of strength and finesse. The crowdâs roar grew louder with each step he took towards the goal.
"Go, Dad! You can do it!" Haru shouted, his voice full of unbridled enthusiasm. Kunigami glanced towards the family section for just a moment, his eyes locking onto yours and Haruâs. You could see the fire and determination in his gaze, the unspoken promise he made to his son to always be his hero.
With a powerful kick, Kunigami sent the ball soaring past the goalkeeper and into the net. The stadium erupted in cheers, the sound nearly deafening. Kunigami's teammates rushed to him, celebrating the goal, but his eyes were fixed on you and Haru.
He pointed directly at you both, his expression a mixture of pride and love. You could almost hear the words in your mind: âThis is for you. Your hero is here.â
Haru was beside himself with excitement, jumping up and down, waving his arms wildly. "Mom, did you see that? Dad scored! He did it!" You pulled Haru into a tight hug, tears of joy welling up in your eyes. "Yes, sweetheart, he did. Your dad is amazing."
As the game continued, Kunigami played with renewed vigor, his goal having given his team the boost they needed. When the final whistle blew, signaling their victory, the crowdâs cheers echoed around the stadium.
After the game, you and Haru were escorted down to the field to meet Kunigami. Haru ran ahead, throwing himself into his fatherâs arms.
"Dad, you were awesome! Just like a superhero!" Kunigami laughed, lifting Haru high into the air before bringing him back down for a tight hug. "Thanks, buddy. I told you I'd score a goal for you."
