#maybe i'm underestimating the usefulness of a 1/2 creature

Hey am I missing something or is this card useless? It's just a 1/2 that draws you a single card when you play it, and it only looks at the top 4 so it has a good chance to miss unless your deck has like 20 noncreature spells. The offspring is really expensive too. Why pay 6 mana to draw 2 cards? Getting a 2-mana 1/2 in a spells deck isn't worth much, not without prowess or something. I'd rather have an unplayably bad rare than a broken one any day, but I'm just confused, it's not even a unique or complex effect. Did they accidentally swap the rarities of this and some common?
#mtg#magic the gathering#maybe i'm underestimating the usefulness of a 1/2 creature#but for 2 mana you can get that prowess signpost that makes your instant/sorceries cost 1 less#or you can draw 2 cards with Pearl of Wisdom#or get a 1/1 prowess with Otterball Antics which can flashback for 4 to get a 2/2 prowess and it IS a noncreature spell#and if you want a noncreature spell so badly then just take this out and run a noncreature spell in its place#i can't find the reason why you'd run this card#there's better options for creatures there's better options for card draw there's even a 2-drop that can also spend 4 excess mana#for a rare to be this simple and this bad is so strange#i'm also a little salty because i've opened 3 copies of this instead of Mabel Heir to Cragflame

can i request a yandere 2003 baxter stockman concept?
ty
Sure! To keep things simple and less confusing, this is before all the robotics and cheating death bit. So, take this as maybe season 1 early season 2 maybe? I'm still new to TMNT 2003 but this is one of my favorite iterations of Baxter Stockman by far!
Note: I love him...❤️
Yandere! Baxter Stockman (2003) Concept
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Stalking, Invasion of privacy, Obsession, Possessive behavior, Arrogance, Manipulation, Baxter can't talk to people, Forced relationship, Violence, Murder, Trackers, Kidnapping, Blood, Low empathy.
Baxter Stockman can be a terrifying yandere, at least in his 2003 iteration.
He is a man who is mentally unstable in canon and doesn't trust many.
Since he was young he's shown a desire to torture creatures he sees as weaker than him.
It was his mother's kindness that kept him in check until she eventually passed.
Baxter is a narcissist who has no issues with murder and would be a yandere that's hard to get rid of.
This is because Baxter can cheat death... a lot.
Which means you'll be stuck with him for a very long time.
Baxter takes awhile to develop an obsession, platonic or romantic.
This is due to his trust issues and inability to drop his ego.
He often brags and underestimates others but would probably be attached to someone who shows potential.
I can also see his obsession being his assistant to start his obsession.
Baxter Stockman would be Obsessive, Selfish/Arrogant, Manipulative, Threatening, Violent/Unstable, Possessive, and Clever.
Baxter is a yandere who uses science to keep an eye on his darling.
He is a yandere capable of out smarting his darling, although he could underestimate his darling which gives them the upper hand.
Not for very long, however.
Be it cameras, drones, or trackers... Baxter knows where you are.
Partially due to his arrogance Baxter hates the idea of others around you.
He disguises it as trust issues or something like that but the truth is he is jealous.
Baxter likes his darling much more than he lets on.
He takes notes on you as he feels that is the best way to understand you.
He also yearns for his darling's praise in some way.
When Baxter's obsession first starts he is a yandere who is in denial.
He doesn't understand how he can feel so sentimental about someone lower than him and tries to ignore it.
It doesn't work which only descends him into further madness, eventually making him accept the fact he cares about you in some way.
Once Baxter realizes he cares for you he does research behind your back.
It's all stalking and note taking.
Baxter seems like someone who struggles to talk to his darling.
He just... isn't sure how to connect with you?
He tries for the sake of research, he may not be sure at first but learns how to talk to you comfortably the more he obsession progresses.
Baxter mostly likes it when his darling just listens to him, he likes to hear himself talk.
So when he rants he likes it when his darling just sits and nods.
He isn't sure why but he just... feels happy when you look at him and listen?
He just feels happy when you look at him period.
Baxter would also prefer a darling who shows kindness.
It reminds him of his childhood and soothes him.
I'll also say this now that Baxter isn't one to outright say he cares for/loves you
He does, it just feels weird on the tongue.
Baxter is incredibly manipulative but he comes off as threatening.
His darling is often convinced they can only be around/trust him when in reality... he is not the best person to trust.
Baxter would slowly become more vulnerable around his darling the more he begins to obsess over them.
He could just see them as a friend or business partner like Bishop or something more akin to a romantic partner.
Either way soon you seem to have control over Baxter.
Not by much though as Baxter is the one who has all the tech and cameras pointed at you.
Along with all the robotic security.
Baxter would try and manipulate his darling into something.
He's a man with low empathy and just cares about you being his.
He doesn't care if you're just one of his only good friends or his lover... he just wants to keep you.
Baxter's possessive.
If the trackers didn't give it away already that is.
Baxter doesn't want you distancing yourself from him or anyone else taking you.
I'll say that Baxter doesn't get his own hands dirty...
He prefers a robot to do it.
Baxter is unstable and vengeful.
To him it's a good idea to spill someone else's blood for you.
Well... mostly for himself as he kills just to keep you to himself.
Baxter will try his best to console you when one of his creations tears someone apart in front of you.
But why should he show sympathy?
They tried to take you from him... he doesn't care if they're your friends, family, or enemies...
They're dead.
Their blood will only stain his robots, not his hands.
Baxter doesn't mind inventing a way to keep you to himself.
Yes, he'd kidnap if he's this passionate about you.
You'll hate him but he's sure he can change that too somehow.
Baxter can be a horrific yandere because he cares so little for others.
Yet if you just stay with him and keep him at bay with your kindness... none of this has to happen.
The worst part is even if you did try to kill him he'll probably just come back in some way.
That or if YOU died he'd probably just find a way to bring you back.
Death doesn't keep you two away from each other for long.
In his 2003 iteration, Baxter Stockman has the potential to be a terrifying and forceful yandere yet can also be kept at bay if you pay attention and side with him.
Baxter doesn't care for anyone else except you when he is a yandere...
So don't expect him to be that merciful as a yandere if you neglect him for someone else.

author ask tag game
tagged by @scribbling-stardust! you can find her post here. putting this whole thing under the cut because boy is it Long. as for the tag... uh whoever I've tagged below who wants to hop in ig (no pressure tho!!)
What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? Honestly my themes kind of grow from the story instead of the other way around, but overall I'd say it's something along the lines of discrimination and how dangerous hate can be. (<< sounds cool, has no idea how she's going to actually write this) But I will say there's a lot of like - mini themes in it too, because each character has their own issues and needs to learn different things to grow. Stuff about communication, about self-care, about finding yourself, about courage, etc etc. Very scattered, ik.
What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? I'd say there's a lot of like?? Mythological creatures?? Y'know the classics like vampires and werewolves and selkies and what not. And then I just. Turn it all on its head. All the myths of them still exist in-universe - they're just wildly inaccurate because humans have been passing the stories down for decades. In actuality, Beasts are much more different. (Also and this is rather embarrassing to admit, but I've been stealing aHeM taking inspiration for characters from all of the media I've been watching. Which is. Mostly anime. Plus some worldbuilding details from fanfic aus I've thought up.)
What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? Honestly? I have no idea. As of now, he's mostly trying to survive. I think the issue with Crys is that largely he's not someone who actually has a goal he wants to achieve?? The growth he experiences is not a thing he really decides he wants, but more something he needs, which the narrative basically has to drag him into. As for me... mostly I just want to write my stories and have them reach someone somewhere. It's probably the same for a lot of us who share those stories.
How many chapters is your story going to have? No idea. 40-something?? 50??? I always underestimate my end wordcount and my chapters vary wildly in length.
Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? Original content!! I've been thinking about tweaking some stuff in Crow Wings (book 1) after I've finished first drafting Witch's Book (book 2), then I'll probably throw it up on ao3 and maybe simultaneously post it here.
When and why did you start writing? Sometime when I was a kid I think?? I'm pretty sure I was vaguely upset and bored and then I just picked up a pencil and started going at it. It was titled 'Survival' and it was basically a ripoff of I Am Number Four, littered with grammar and spelling mistakes, and all the cringefail, mary sue tropes small me could think up. I kid you not, the main character was named Emma, she had blond hair and blue eyes, and she was so good at fighting she was better at it then boys, even. Gasp!! Color me surprised!!!!! Anyway I still have it with me due to nostalgia reasons but it is hidden in my drawer under my bed where the light of day will never reach. Don't judge me, I was like nine.
Do you have any words of engagement for fellow writers of Writeblr? What other writers of Tumblr do you follow? We're all friends here and we're all still learning, so don't be afraid to share your work!! Something you feel might not be "good enough" is a story someone out there will love - and take it from a person with low self-confidence, your writing's often not as bad as you think! :D (also c'mon. it can't be worse than what nine-year-old me thought up.) As for writers... well I am following a lot of people but I'm just gonna tag a few of my mutuals. There's @lyssa-ink (my first ever writeblr mutual!!! she does fantasy with a lot of immortals, fae and court politics), and also @reneesbooks (go check out lacuna. birdie is adorable and jack is so funny to me). Also @macabremoons (vampires. lots of vampires. also super fun to talk to!!!), @sidhewrites (love graveyard lesbians. kaz is an absolute disaster and lucy is just so!!!), and @loopyhoopywrites (the Ex-Quest is peak comedy. every excerpt I read leaves me wheezing). I don't talk as much with @space-writes, @e-klair, @sapphos-scientist or @squarebracket-trick, but they're all lovely, talented writers and I really appreciate that they let me yell about Beast at them!!! There's also @scribbling-stardust (one of my most recent moots. her oc dahlia and my oc dahlia are literally twins. it's hilarious). Lastly, closing off with @allianaavelinjackson, who isn't very active on tumblr but is nonetheless always available to brainstorm (read: listen to me go insane) over Beast. Love ya <3
#this has gotten insanely long#if I forgot any of you I am so sorry#writeblr#my posts#tag game#beast#wip: beast#I feel like this last part is basically a repeat of the writeblr positivity tag but!!! reminding yall once again that you are awesome!!!!

i really wish i hated you || tsukishima kei
masterlist | 1 | 2 | chapter 3
pairing: tsukishima kei x f! reader
sypnosis: It was an accident that (Y/N) met a certain tall, blonde male; a memory she isn't fond of remembering, but it is where it all started. And ever since, she magically makes her to his path. The image of the bespectacled man dwelled in her mind more than she thought. Tsukishima pushed away his softer emotions and denied their existence, or at least that's what he told himself. But then, he couldn't believe that this girl he labeled as a clumsy, unlucky creature who smashed his glasses is slowly bringing these strange emotions back to him. She might be irritating and dumb sometimes, but he couldn't get himself to completely hate her. Either that destiny was stupid, or he was blessed or cursed.
genre: fanfiction, fluff
wc: 2.6k
She has met the tall, blonde, and bespectacled male yet again.
"Oh, the midget stalker is here."
"You again?! Seriously, I think it's you who's following me!"
"Hah, what do I get from following an extremely short person like you?" He said, borrowing her words from yesterday.
(Y/N)'s eyebrows creased further in irritation. "Why do you keep mentioning my height?!"
"It was you who started it. Anyways, can you shut up? Do you know that you're in a library?"
She didn't retort back and simply sat on the chair with her arms crossed. It was a fine day then —BOOM— this giant decided to appear out of nowhere. She was trying to forget this person who's associated with some of her embarrassing moments but those just got smashed back to her mind. (Y/N) sighed and pulled a book at the bottom of the stack to start reading, but noticed that the blondie is still standing near the edge of the table, hesitating to sit down while glancing somewhere and back to her.
"What?" (Y/N) frowned.
"Why am I unnecessarily stuck with you on this table?" He sighed, pulling out the chair.
"Because all of the tables here are taken? If you're worried about your glasses being knocked off, don't worry, I won't do anything reckless anymore."
"That's a nice reassurance," He settled down and brought out his studying materials.
Both of them shared the table in the crowded library. Ignoring the people, between them was a silent atmosphere. No one was talking as they both minded their own studies; he was reading quietly and turning pages of a huge book while (Y/N) wrote key points from the printed work and highlighting her notes. Sometimes, the other would leave to return books to their shelves and came back with new stacks. This went on for a few hours until her pen ran out of ink. She scribbled at the back of her notebook in hopes that the ink just got stuck, to no avail. She sighed, resting her head on the notebook. But she really needed to take down notes for her upcoming entrance exam.
"Hey." (Y/N) reluctantly said.
The blonde male looked at her, confirming if he's being called, "What?"
"I'm sorry to interrupt your business but... do you have a spare pen?"
He stared at her with a straight face and placed his chin on the top of his knuckles, implying his refusal to lend one.
(Y/N)'s mentally gritted her teeth. I'm just going to borrow a pen and he's making it hard for me?!
Swallowing her pride, she said, "Look, I need to finish my notes. I'll return it to you right away when I'm done. I promise. Please?"
He scoffed as brought out a pen, "An inkless pen is all it takes for you to become a less lively puppy? You better keep your promise."
A puppy?! "You didn't need to compare me to a puppy but, thanks."
She continued her work but her focus was a bit shaken. This happens whenever she's interrupted or took a break away from writing. Soon, her focus vanished and boredom took over. She tried to read a book to review ideas but her brain won't cooperate. She groaned, her head and arms fell to the table again. The blonde saw but chose to ignore her.
She closed her eyes for a second, however, her gaze fell to the blank paper in front of her face. Her hands are itching to do something other than reviewing and writing, so she put down the pen she borrowed and took a pencil out of her pocket. She placed a pile of books near her notebook so that the male won't notice what she's doing. There, she started to sketch the base of the figure.
She would observe the four-eyed guy who's busy reading some sort of article while taking notes. He has a calm expression on his face rather than an irritated scowl or a mocking grin he usually has. He wears a long blazer and probably a long-sleeved shirt inside. His blonde hair is short yet the edges are a bit curly and his upper eyelashes are prominently long. This was the first time she stared at the jerk's face who she kept bumping into random places that irked the hell out of her, but for some reason, she felt that she had seen this person before the accident in the park, albeit she doesn't know where. (Y/N) came to a conclusion; he was a little good-looking.
The girl looked back to her drawing and shook her head at her own ideas. I can't believe I actually thought that this guy is handsome. How can such a mean creature be blessed with such looks?! Ugh, don't mind, (Y/N). I'm only drawing him because he seems like a great canvas subject, it's not like I haven't done this to other people before...
She went on drawing and drew details to the sketch similar to the boy in front of her. To make the drawing more accurate, she stole small glances at him. She kept things low key because it'll be another embarrassing event if he found out what she's doing. She made the lines smoother in one swift move. The hair and clothes' folds are already well-drawn while she focuses on the detail of his eyes and glasses. She was about to shade when the male finally caught her.
"What is it?" He questioned, closing his book with a low voice and creased eyebrows.
(Y/N) froze on the spot. As much as she doesn't like it, she maintained eye contact with him, thinking of the best alibi that he couldn't argue with. Then, she remembered that she doesn't know his name.
"Uhm... nothing. I was just wondering if you have a name." While talking, her finger subtly moved to grab the nearest object it could get to cover her drawing.
"I have, but why would I mention it to you?" He cooly replied.
"It's alright. I'm not asking you to. Unless you want to be referred to as he/him or the tall, blonde glasses guy all the time?" (Y/N) countered.
He silently turned a page before answering, "Well, it's not like we'll meet every day."
"Oh," was her only reply. Looks like he will stay a nameless guy in her head for a long time. She was about to get back to her business when he spoke.
"Tsukishima Kei."
(Y/N) looked at him in surprise. "I'm not going to repeat it." He added.
She smiled, having clearly heard it right away. "Can you tell me how it is written?"
He looked at her to check for ill intentions but found nothing in her eyes. He hesitantly wrote the characters of his name on a piece of paper.
"I'm (L/N) (Y/N), nice to meet you again, Tsukishima-san." She'd like to initiate a handshake for peacemaking, but she knows how he'd only decline it. She wrote her name for him to see as well.
Tsukishima Kei. She repeated in her mind. What a nice name.
With a notebook covering the upper portion of the paper where she had drawn his portrait, she wrote his name at the bottom. She proceeded to the shading and background features. Backgrounds are one of the things she hates in art because it takes too long to draw one compared to the subject itself. Luckily it's only a sketch so she won't have to suffer. Although she doesn't know if Tsukishima had seen whatever she's doing so she's still cautious. She peered at him for the nth time so she could distract his peripheral vision. Maybe to test the social initiative skills she hasn't used for a long time too.
"Uhh, can I ask something?" She started.
"Hm?" He responded without taking his eyes off the page.
"What school are you from?"
"Amemaru Middle School."
(Y/N) hummed, thinking of another question, "Then, what school are you enrolling to? It must be an upper class one since you had to read those large books and all."
"Not really," Tsukishima closed the book, "I plan to go to Karasuno High School. They may not have a difficult entrance exam, but these readings are for decent grades and some stock knowledge."
"Decent grades, huh... you look like you could achieve more though. I'm pretty sure you'll ace it." She answered, "I was from Kitagawa Dai Ichi. I'm taking an exam in Shiratorizawa soon."
"You're going to that high-class academy? I see, I failed to notice that because you don't look like one. Have fun clashing with other elites there."
"Elites? What are you talking about, you still believe there's such a hierarchy?" (Y/N) chuckled.
"There is though. A gap between them and mere humans in terms of skills and power."
"In the end, they're still humans though. Be it numbers, hard work, or some unique strategy, those 'mere humans' you say will always struggle to step on equal levels with those on the highest rank."
Tsukishima only hummed and stared down at her, "Perhaps I was wrong on assuming you're an elite. You're clearly not."
"Are you underestimating me?" She challenged.
"No, I was just saying. Can I ask something though?"
"What?"
"Why are you suddenly talkative?"
She was caught off guard but tried not to stutter, "Me? Talkative? I'm always like this."
"Really?" He raised his brows, totally not buying it.
"Ugh, fine! I'm tired of studying!" She sighed, "I was scribbling some doodles on my notebook because I'm bored so I thought it wouldn't hurt to talk to Mr. Beanpole in front of me. Forgive me and my awkward social skills."
"Your social skills are not bad. I'm just thankful you aren't using the precious ink of my pen for drawing." He said, stacking the books he used.
She gasped, panicked inside, "You aren't looking at my drawing, are you?"
He got up to return the books,"Don't worry, it's none of my business."
She exhaled in relief, spared from another memory of embarrassment. Her eyes followed his walking figure and watched his movements. She looked at her drawing to compare and used her fingers to define lighting. When Tsukishima got back and placed new reviewers on the table, (Y/N) asked him once more.
"Do you ever get tired of studying?"
"Sometimes I take a break, but I can only do that if I have finished everything."
"What a diligent student you are."
"I hardly see any benefit in being dumb and slacking off all the time."
"Eh, I hardly see any benefit in studying Algebra and Calculus. I have a lot of questions. Do you use derivatives in counting money or salary? Do you use trigonometry in dividing pizzas or corn chips? Why do I need to find the limit of a function if numbers are infinite? Why do I need to get the formula of a certain point in each line or curve I draw on the graphing paper? What is the correct answer for?" (Y/N) complained.
Tsukishima looked at her blankly, doubting her chances of passing the Shiratorizawa's board exam. "I couldn't argue with that, I'd rather read a book composed of words than formulas, but you don't have a choice. Although, if you plan to be an engineer or something, that'll be a different perspective."
"No, thanks, I won't eat math books for breakfast. Other subjects are interesting enough to keep me awake in class, but numbers don't really entertain me."
"Then, what do you do?" He asked, writing on his notes.
"Not much. I just draw, paint, listen to music, and watch anime."
He let out an amused hum, "How about you? What do you do other than to study?" (Y/N) asked.
"I play volleyball, listen to music, and read narrative books."
"Volleyball? So that's what your height is for! I thought it's just for cleaning and reaching high places."
"That's rude."
"If I am, what do you call yourself? Besides, I don't want to make wrong assumptions."
"You just did."
"...right. I'm sorry."
The sense of familiarity took over (Y/N)'s brain, telling her that she definitely had met this Tsukishima guy before. Her face scrunched a little, trying to search her memories and connect the dots. Her eyes found his face again.
"Why do you keep looking at me?" His eyes narrowed, his annoyance towards the girl slowly rising.
"I HAD met you somewhere... before that accident, where did I see you?"
He was about to say something when (Y/N) stopped him, "Shh, I'm thinking."
He crossed his arms and frowned at her. Volleyball, Amemaru MS... She was about to say it but Tsukishima spoke first.
"Were you one of the audience who watched the middle school volleyball inter-high a year ago?"
"I was! Wait, you remember?"
"That was the only place where I could find someone from Kitagawa Dai Ichi." He confirmed.
"Correct. I was a part of the school paper where I was assigned in the sports category. I took a picture of you when my senior was interviewing you! You were the tallest middle blocker in the games! How could I forget that! So that's why whenever you irk me, it was familiar!"
"How am I annoying you? Aren't you the one who kept on talking right now?"
"I've figured out that there's no kind bone in you. And the way you keep on stuffing the spikes from the opposite team. It was never-ending that they didn't have a chance to score properly." She pouted.
"What do you expect from a middle blocker? It was my job to block spikes."
"You could've gone easy on them."
"The game would lose it's sense if that's the case."
"Fine. You're not wrong." Their conversation was cut short after she ceased talking. At least she found out where she first met Tsukishima. She finished the portrait sketch. Grinning, she believed that she captured his features accurately in her drawing. She'd like to hold it near him and compare to make sure though. Satisfied with her work, she went back on turning pages.
"So, you've finally decided to continue to study?" Tsukishima prodded.
She smiled, "I guess. Thank you for talking to me. That was a great stop."
Both of them worked quietly, but now, the irritation they felt towards each other lessened. After some time, a person in the speaker announced that the library will be closing before 6 pm. Tsukishima returned all the books he borrowed and packed his things.
"You're going home?"
"I don't want to come home late. You aren't finished with your notes yet?"
"Yeah, maybe I'll leave five minutes before six."
"Alright. I'll get going now." He swung his bag over his shoulder.
"Hey, wait! Your pen!" (Y/N) abruptly remembered seconds after.
"I don't need it anymore. It was useful, apart from its close on running out of ink."
"But it's yours and you told me to keep my promise!"
"Whatever. Keep it or throw it." He walked out and wore his headphones, having no intention to listen to anyone.
She sighed and checked the ink. More than half of it is gone, but she can use it again if she wishes. (Y/N) placed her fist to her cheek while writing.
Random Tsukishima Kei facts:
In the second prototype chapter (unserialized, one shot, the first idea of the author on how haikyuu will go) Tsukishima was a second-year, which was changed in the serialized version where he's a first-year. His initial height in the prototype chapter is 184cm, a little shorter than his official height (190.1cm). In an extra sketch, Furudate commented, "Tsukki and Tanaka being in the same year would spell chaos!

Supernatural season 1 review (part 1, with a little summary)
Link to part 2:
As Carly just said, some weeks ago she finished to watch the last season of Supernatural (if you've never seen or heard about this TV series, I'm sorry to inform you that it has 15 seasons, yeah, crazy) and for some reason she wanted to rewatch every single episode from the beginning, with me. I'm not really into TV series and I haven't watched many, but I accepted because I thought I couldn't leave my teen years without making this thrilling experience.
We've just finished the first season (I don't wanna know when we'll finish the whole show, I'll probably spend the next two or three years on this) and I collected some opinions about it.
I was informed about the storyline and the contents, nevertheless the very beginning of the first episode quite shocked me. For those who don't know, the first scene is about the murder of a woman by a supernatural creature, which gives start to the narration because from then on her husband and their two sons, Sam and Dean, dedicate their life to hunting that demon and all kinds of supernatural creatures they find on the way, so that every episode is devoted to a different "hunt", as they call it. The background storyline, in the first half of the season, is the search for Sam and Dean's father, who is somewhere missing hunting that demon that killed his wife, while in the second and final part the family gathers in order to be stronger to eventually fight it.
Of course the supernatural creatures they hunt are different every time, and I appreciated that the authors had a great fantasy to invent or desume them from local traditions and myths: Sam and Dean fight all kinds of demons, ghosts, animals and even people and, being the first season, you learn how to defeat them with the protagonists and feel deeply involved in their job. What they're doing, freeing the world from evil, feels so right that you can even easily understand and excuse their continuous breaking the law and lying, also because every episode has a happy ending and all the people involved end up trusting and thanking them. Moreover, the general skepticism they meet really contributes in making the story realistic and believable, making unbelievable, but still true, everything the brothers find on their way and making us feel like we know something secret to most of other people.
I've just said "job" ... Well, they call it job but in fact they never get paid and I wondered many times how they can live or travel all around the USA on a beatiful car without any money, but, you know, that's just fiction. By the way, they really travel a lot to catch supernatural events, it could probably be interesting to draw a map of their journey...
The only aspect I have to criticize is that the episodes are not so linked by a sort of "fil rouge", but Carly reassured me that the next seasons will be much better also under this point of view.
Talking about her, I highly recommend to watch this show with someone, and better when you're not home alone, if you get frightened easily like me, because some scenes are quite scary.
It's of course a thriller/horror series, and other themes, such as love, are touched, as far as I can say at this point, just to contribute to the characterization of the protagonists. I can never tell what is my "favourite thing" out of a group, so I won't say what's my favourite episode because I couldn't choose, but I'll make an effort and confess my favourite character so far is Sam.
He's the younger brother, and he's always been an outsider in his family: while his father and Dean thought hunting supernatural creatures was their duty and activity for life, he decided to leave them to have a "normal life" studying at University. This dream vanishes when Dean convinces him to come back with the family because their father is missing, but Sam never really quits thinking about studying. Also because the "hunting life" means never settling down, never building strong relationships (while before leaving he had a girlfriend), and Dean, apparently convinced they must dedicate their life to hunting, seems to underestimate the choice he forces Sam into. Of course it's not Dean's fault, but maybe he should've been more comprehensive about what his brother was going through. So, Sam often seems to be more sensitive and wise than his brother, and I say "seems" because I also think Dean hides much more of his personality and feelings which I hope will emerge in the next seasons. I feel like he experienced somehow similar struggles, but he knew how to make hunting fun, and he is able to show Sam that their life could be much better than he expected. Together they make an amazing team, always supporting and taking care of each other, because they are so different that they find help in the other one every time.
Family is certainly the main motive of the first season: Dean gathers Sam and eventually their father together, but it's not that simple as he had imagined. Every family has some hidden issues, and when the Winchesters start hunting together Sam can't stand John's domineering attitude, to which Dean is completely used, because his only desire is to emancipate from him and show him his worth. That's the power of the last episodes: you can fully understand Sam wanting to create his own future but also willing to follow his family and do the job he's destined to. But you can also understand Dean (or maybe you'd want him as a friend since he's so fun!) who loves his brother and father so much he has to be strong to support them. You will even understand some of John's actions, because at the end he made all his choices in the name of the love for Sam and Dean, even if not without mistakes.
So, if you haven't watched Supernatural already, go and do it because you'll grow with these two boys and you will slowly grow fond of them (or at least you'll know how to defeat a demon speaking Latin, which could always come in handy).
Can't wait to see what's happening next…
- Irene 💕

Omg this is getting out of control. I was only planning on getting an average knowledge about dragons, so i could describe it accurately. And now I'm having a internal debate about which kind of dragon Jimin is. Like... in the pic it looks a lot like a wyvern, which is cool, i love it. But then again wyvern look really scary and were usually bad and seems like belong to the idian culture or the european(like Italian and English). 1/2
So when i first wrote about the dragon au i had zero to no knowledge about dragons and when i chose that photo i wasn’t aware it entailed a particular type of dragon. However your ask definitly piqued my curiosity and i’ve spent the last half an hour reading about the different types of dragons.
What i had in mind when writing the idea was a dragon with four legs and a pair of wings, able to fly and walk, claws, fangs, yk all that dangerous stuff and maybe a long tail too? That automatically discarded all the snake-like dragons such as african dragons, wurm and lindworms. I had also thought about the size, i really liked the idea of his dragon self being really big and mighty and dangerous, compared to his tiny and cuddly human self? The thing was that when people managed to transform him back to his more vulnerable form (through some magic spell or smth) they would find this really cute and totally not frightening nor dangerous person, automatically underestimating him, followed by a good beating up (he’s like one of the best at hand to hand combat and can perfectly use the vast mayority of weapons) (however jk somehow still finds him completely endearing)
The type of dragon that was the most acurate with what i was thinking was the western dragon, known for having 6 limbs (a pair of wings and four legs), spit fire and have scaly green bodies and huge red wings. Am not really fan of the colors, I lean more towards a dark red, black or even dark grey? I do however like the idea of a fire-breathing dragon, it’s powerful and dangerous and cool, even though other “powers” could also fit pretty well. They are also known for being greedy creatures, who hoard gold treasure in dens under the earth, and i like the idea that this slighty rubbed of on jm’s human form. Whenever they have to do a public appearances, jimin would never appear without at least one piece of jewelry, he loves leaving astonishing impressions, and the shinier the better. He likes to dress up and show off, and really worries about his image (and therefore about jk’s, who he constantly pesters about what he does and does not have to weat when meeting nobles and kings) However he doesn’t go bananas for it and doesn’t hide huge treasure in mountains or anything (yet he does LOVE when jk gifts him a piece of fine jewelry) Finally, these types of dragons live in caves, mountains, or lakes, and while, they both prefer a comfortable inn, with a warm bed, good food and ale, there are nights in which thay aren’t able to find a place to sleep and they have no choice but to find a safe cave in which to spend the night (jm isn’t exactly a fan of spending a night in the wild and in fear of his knight being in any kind of danger, he refuses to turn back into a human, spending the night curled around jk and never completely drifting off to sleep) so it’s in these kind of night that jm uses he’s natural instinct to find caves.
(western dragons)
And well that’s pretty much it :) But please, that’s just how i thought about it, any other idea is welcome and perfectly valuable, so if you had another thing in mind, i would LOVE to hear it.
I hope this was what you where thinking (i’m not an expert on dragons so, am not sure i got everything right 😅) and i loved your coment, i really appreciated it ❤❤
Thank you <3

Because scary stuff is a legitimate concern, in order to allay our anxiety we have a few different scenario plans with our immediate friends and family in the area. Everyone has a small personal go bag with like, some clothes and documents and meds and anything else you may deem essential day-to-day.
Those of us who have... Specialties, I guess you could say? And we all have one.... Have a Group Go Bag focusing on their particular niche. My mom goes camping a lot, so she has an outdoor bag with her big tent and some useful camping gear. I'm the one who knows how to repair, work with, and make textiles, and I'm a writer and historian, so I have a a largeish basic sewing kit and paper/pencils, etc. (Also a some yarn and knitting needles cuz I get bored easily.) My girlfriend was a medic in the Army and we have a lot of my dad's old equipment from when he was a nurse AND when he was sick at the end there, so we have a street medic go bag for her to bring (we also bring it to protests, so it's portable and lightweight). All of us have external battery packs and charge our various devices as often as possible. One of the people in our group has a medium solar generator they use during camping. That's in THEIR group go bag.
It's just... Basics. Know what you, personally, could do in an emergency situation, what you bring to the table, so to speak. Don't go overboard with the doomsday prepping, because 1. That way lies madness, and 2. Chances are you will have to leave, and quickly. You can't full-on prep, because you'll need to be portable and may not have access to a vehicle. It should be stuff you mostly already own, small, portable, and useful to your particular skillset.
You don't need to like Military Surplus this shit. It can be a basic backpack. Just... Clothes, important papers, medications, dollar store first aid kit, dollar store sewing kit, some granola bars or jerky or trail mix, maybe a few bottles of water, maybe a book and some cards (do NOT underestimate the importance of keeping your mind occupied should you need these things), or those little portable board games, a good knife and/or multitool, and a flashlight (with batteries, but don't store the batteries IN the flashlight). I also threw in travel-sized toiletries and menstrual products. If you have the ability to have cash, cool, but it's not a strictly NECESSARY part of a go bag in the event of a major emergency.
Just... Think about what you need on a day to day basis and put spares of it in a bag. There. Basic go-bag accomplished. If you keep a purse or a messenger bag or something like that, consider that part of your go bag as well.
If you want to learn about wilderness survival in your area (and it all vastly varies depending on your locale and climate), learning won't hurt! Especially if it makes you feel more confident and less anxious. But humans are social creatures. You don't have to know everything - someone else will have the knowledge you need, most likely.
It may be naive, but I have faith in the majority of humans. We always, overwhelmingly, choose kindness in the face of adversity - the nasty stuff happening is fringe groups of sociopathic assholes. The rest of us, when faced with an emergency, will reach our hands out to help people up, not push them down. We have some disabled neighbors and part of our plans involves checking in on them and seeing what we can do to help. I know we aren't the only ones who thought about the wheelchair user down the street or the woman in a walker or the boy who speaks entirely through ASL.
This is long and rambly, and I'm sorry about that. TLDR - keep it simple, keep it useful, keep it easily portable, and help your fellow human beings.
Hi Sam! When you have some time, would you mind talking a little more about what's in your normal go-bag and what kind of situation it might be for? I have an emergency bag in my car, but it's literally just a full change of clothes and a week's worth of my allergy meds. I'm curious about what else I might consider adding (when I have freedom and money to go buy things post-covid, that is).
(I think the ask issue is fixed! But just in case, this is an ask from an anon.)
Sure! Sorry this took longer than expected. I was going to give you a list of what’s in mine, but a go-bag should be designed for the way you live, so yours might be different from mine (I live in an urban space and have no car). Mine is about “what do I need if I have to a) get to an evacuation site in Chicago, b) walk out of Chicago, or c) walk out of a genuine disaster zone?”
I don’t actually have a set-aside go-bag anymore, because I used to go backpacking and so I just have everything I need for that form of survival in my camping backpack, and I refresh those supplies way more often than I ever did my go bag in any case. But I would ask yourself the following questions:
If I needed to navigate my way out of the immediate area without GPS, how would I go about that?
If I had no access to electricity, what would need charging? Do I have a way to light my way at night if the power grid is off?
If I needed to build myself a temporary shelter, what would I use?
If the grocery stores are closed, what is the best, least-perishable food I would want to have on hand?
If I have limited access to water, how would I carry and store it?
If I couldn’t use normal forms of payment, what would I barter for what I need?
If I or someone else were hurt, what kind of injury is it likely to be? What would I need to treat it?
If I were taking an extended road trip with my pets, what would they need?
You can go down a real prepper rabbit-hole so I don’t recommend extensive googling, but you can also google stuff like “basic backpacking supplies” or “simple bug-out bag”. It’ll remind you of stuff you never think about, like towels and spoons and such.
Also I always have at least one deck of playing cards in every form of travel bag I have, because a lot of disasters, once you’re out of immediate danger, tend to involve long stretches of waiting and being unable to do much.
I hope this helps! AND THAT IT IS NEVER ACTUALLY NECESSARY. :D
