EVELYN is that you?! For the Straights, and gays who have never had the soul crushing pleasure of reading (and those who have ;) “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”, Allow me to elaborate ⬇️
To be clear: Evelyn Hugo Marry’s seven separate men in order to cultivate her Hollywood image, at the expense of her true love interest and sexuality. Aka lavender marriages, aka bearding. She was bi however we barely have one actual male love interest for her..
let’s meander some of the lovely connections our blonde woman-who-is-attending-an-award-show-with-a-woman-on-her-arm-to-✨dispell✨-the-gay-rumors has with the ever amazing Evelyn Hugo 😍
Green is quotes from the book, anything else is Taylor’s lyrics 💗
"It shouldn't be wrong, to love you. How can it be wrong?"
They say I did something bad / Then why's it feel so good?
I love you ain’t that the worst thing you ever heard?
Is Evelyn Hugo going to tell me just enough to keep me on the edge of my seat but never enough to truly reveal anything?
What a Mastermind wouldn’t you say?
I did it because I want to climb the ladder as high as I possibly can. I did it because I want my name, the name my father gave me, in big, bold letters one day. This is my chance.
He wanted a bride, I was making my own name
People think that intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth.
I want to wear his initial / On a chain 'round my neck, chain 'round my neck / Not because he owns me / But 'cause he really knows me / Which is more than they can say
Celia was starting to get goose bumps, so I suggested we go back into the living room, where it was warmer. The desert winds had swooped in and turned this June night into a chilly one. When I started to get cold, too, I asked her if she knew how to make a fire.
He built a fire just to keep me warm
Wine went all over her white shirt.
The burgundy on my T-shirt when you splashed your wine into me
I was in emerald green again.
“Evelyn, who was your great love? You can tell me." "Celia St. James.”
I just had to put this in here- no need whatsoever but 😍
Don was off somewhere else, leaving me before I could leave him. Instead, right on my doorstep, was Celia St. James.
Stand there like a ghost / Shaking come the rain, rain / She'll open up the door / And say, are you insane, -ane?
🤭And that's how it works / That's how you get the girl🤷♀️
She literally told you-I anyway
You wonder what it must be like to be a man, to be so confident that the final say is yours.
A little side note: The way in which she naturally uses those two fingers is very audacious to me.. but that’s a topic for another time…
I’d risen from ashes more than once by that point. But I didn't want to have to do it again.
And I know I make the same mistakes every time
I'm getting tired even for a phoenix / Always risin' from the ashes / Mendin' all her gashes / You might just have dealt the final blow
"Everyone's a pawn.”
Checkmate, I couldn't lose
One day I'll watch as you're leaving / 'Cause you got tired of my scheming
The black beaded dress I wore that night. Two slits on either side of the skirt went up to my mid-thigh. I loved that dress. (For the nomination for a film called Cornelia Sunset, might I add…)
And what I wanted was to move to the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Where were the original Polaroids for 1989 shot? Oh in manhattan…
Where does Taylor live? In New York… maybe not manhattan… but you get the point..
Welcome to New York, Taylor wrote this song specifically about moving there, and the very diverse people there…
In the pursuit of a great cause, I think people can be of service in a number of different ways. I always felt that my way was to make a lot of money and then channel it to the groups that needed it. It's a bit self-serving, that logic. I know that. But because of who I was, because of the sacrifices I made to hide parts of myself, I was able to give more money than most people ever see in their entire lifetime. I am proud of that.
"Evelyn, you are not capable of giving it up. And you never will be. And it will be the tragedy of my life that I cannot love you enough to make you mine. That you cannot be loved enough to be anyone's.”
"Do something, babe, say something" (say something) / "Lose something, babe, risk something" (you're losin' me) / "Choose something, babe, I got nothing (got nothing) / To believe / Unless you're choosin' me"
Which is about the cruelest thing you can do to someone you love, give them just enough good to make them stick through a hell of a lot of bad.
You know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love / The slowest way is never loving them enough
And let me just say bring a woman who promised to be Taylor’s “invisible bride any day”, to an award show after that homophobic piece of 🔥🗑️ NYT article calling her only straight…
Not to mention her name starts with a K..
Look how happy tree is, because this Evelyn Hugo won’t be hidden forever 💚🤍
#you should’ve gotten the point by now#the seven husbands of evelyn hugo#I’m convinced Taylor has read it.#feel free to add on#even this much is damning huh?#she’s not subtle babes#taylor swift#gay icons#karlie kloss#kaylor#you’re losing me#i did something bad#maroon#anti hero#queer flagging#gaylor swift#blondie#lgbetty#the eras tour#koincidences

Fan Experience with SKZ a2 d2
[Caution: These are not full fics, or even full parts of fics for some, these are part of my writing progress archive!]
Concept: Reader wins a contest to have dinner with SKZ and they become friends :D (and maybe more? 0w0)
Word Count: 1,399
Notes: I kind of went for a sillier sort of vibe for this (bc I am a silly person) but I wonder if it makes Reader seem too childish? This one is shaping up to be a one-shot, or maybe one-shot series, idk. I sort of feel like I need more lead up or environment descriptions, it just seems like it's moving pretty fast. I do have a car scene sort of outlined in my head as well as part of the dinner scene, but it'll probably be a bit before I write it lol I have once more accidentally avoided pronouns, unsure how I've done so. Might try to keep it up.
Warnings: None that I know of? It's just silly fluff idk what u want from me.
Masterlist Link :D
"I can't do this." you whine pathetically. Ha-Yun, your best friend and the sacrifice you'd dragged to this fan opportunity, wraps a comforting arm around your shoulder.
"You're doing it." she says firmly. Maybe the arm wasn't a comfort after all, maybe you were her captive now. Turnabout is fair play you suppose.
"We're already here, and the guard has already left to get someone. It's too late to back out now." She finishes reasonably. She’s made several good points, but the day you admit that is the day you marry her. Unfortunately, Ha-Yun happened to be very straight.
"You don't know that!" You insist, "We could run right back out the doors, just poof! Gone." You speak like some sort of madness had taken over you. Quite honestly, it probably had.
Ha-Yun turns to face you properly now. She knows you well enough to know that you were genuinely freaking out, no matter how silly you were about it. She gives you a sympathetic smile, and tugs you closer. Presumably to keep you from running off (and maybe to actually comfort you, just a bit).
"It'll be fine. You adore those boys, just be chill and respectful and it'll all go well." Once again, Ha-Yun appeals to your reason. Too bad you weren't feeling very reasonable at the moment.
You turn yourself to hide your face in her neck and make a sound not dissimilar to a boiling kettle.
"What if they hate me?" You desperately question, "What if they think I'm weird, or ugly, or annoying, or, or, or!" You trail off breathlessly, on the verge of hyperventilating, and feel Ha-Yun gently pat your head.
She makes soft seal noises to mock you and then says, "Well if they do its not like you'll ever know."
Another keening whine leaves you as you slide down to crouch on the floor, arms sliding down with you to wrap around Ha-Yun's knees. She stumbles a bit, but regains her balance by using your head as a cane. She lets you stay there, blessed saint that she is, and continues to speak, wretched devil that she is.
"I mean, really, they're not gonna tell you to your face, and you're not gonna see them again after today." She points out. You'd like to argue, but it's not like she's wrong.
You'd ended up couched on the floor of the JYP building, clutching your best friend's pant leg, on a random Tuesday, about to meet Stray Kids AND eat dinner with them, by pure dumb luck. Actual, literal, luck. Like, won-a-raffle sort of luck. You may as well have won the lottery for everything this opportunity means to you.
Once-in-a-lifetime was an understatement.
"Just have fun with it," Ha-Yun finishes her mini-speech, heedless of your internal (and external) freak-out.
"I think I'll die, actually." You mutter petulantly into her thigh.
She snorts at you, ruffling your hair aggressively and disregarding your half-hearted attempts to swipe at her for it.
"C'mon, what happened to the person who was bouncing off the walls excited about this?" She cajoles, shaking you around but not dislodging you.
"They're dead and buried." You deadpan. It wasn’t like you weren't excited, really! You were just going to perish from sheer anxiety, that was all. Could anyone really blame you? You were about to meet your idols. It was kind of a big deal!
Ha-Yun does nothing but pat your head twice. "Well unbury them," She commands, "the guard is coming back."
Your head snaps up to see, not only the beefy security guard who'd checked both of your I.Ds and passes with great suspicion a few minutes ago, but also the Bang Christopher Chan.
Your brain stalls for a second seeing him dressed head-to-toe in casual black, barefaced and smiling beautifully at you. And then you realize the position you're in and scramble to stand properly, far too late for either of them to have missed your bout of insanity.
You attempt to slide yourself behind Ha-Yun in your humiliation, but the cruel woman snags your elbow with one hand, and your opposite shoulder with the other, and holds you in place in front of her. You take back anything nice you've ever said about Ha-Yun, she's pure evil and out to get you.
Before you can panic too hard, Bangchan and the security guard are in front of you. Though Bangchan is all warm eyes and kind smiles, you can't help but feel small in front of him. You shrink back into Ha-Yun, but she doesn't allow you to retreat. You promise to yourself to only make foods she doesn't like for a whole month when this is over.
"Hi, good to meet you!" Bangchan greets cheerfully. You do your best to match his smile despite your fear and return his greeting, introducing yourself before motioning to Ha-Yun, who was still holding you hostage.
"And this is Ha-Yun, she's my emotional support human today." You're not sure how she's as functional as she is as she both bows respectfully and shakes Bangchan's hand, prompting you to do the same. This was one of the many reasons you'd chosen to bring her over any of your friends who were actually Stray Kids fans. Functional emotional support summed her up nicely.
As greetings wrap up, Ha-Yun turns to you with mischief to dramatically interrogate you.
"Is Emotional support all I am to you?" She demands, "I thought we were more than that! I thought we had something special!" She places a hand over her heart as you'd shot her, dipping back way too far in her dramatics because she knows your hand will catch her whether you want it to or not.
Supporting most of her weight with your fist dug into her upper back, you retort, "You thought wrong."
Bangchan's snicker reminds you of your audience and you tuck your hands behind your back with an embarrassed flush. Ha-Yun is treated to a heated glare when all she does is laugh at you, but you may as well have been air for all it affects her. Two months. No yummy home cooked meals for Ha-Yun. You swore it.
Bangchan begins to speak and your attention is immediately back on him instead of your comedy act of a best friend.
"So, the company actually picked out the place for dinner, so we don't get to choose, sorry." And he really does seem apologetic, despite this seeming like a very reasonable thing to you. "It's this barbecue place down the road, we'll be meeting the others there, if that's alright?" Again he asks like he genuinely values your opinion in this, and the prospect of being in even one (1) of this man's thoughts as an individual causes you a bit of a crisis.
Luckily this is exactly what you'd bright Ha-Yun along for, and she easily agrees for the two of you, guiding you along with the experience of having born witness to more than one blue-screen brain moment in your life.
She strikes up an easy conversation with Bangchan as he leads the three of you deeper into the building towards a different door, leaving the security guard behind. You're a bit jealous of her comfort, since you sort of feel like you're simultaneously walking on air and suffocating on that same air, but she keeps her hand on your back to keep you walking and rubs little comforting circles there. So. She's forgiven. A little bit. Back down to one month of no yummies.
Bangchan leads the three of you back, explaining that there was a company car waiting for you all outside, but that it was closer to a more private entrance for security reasons. He catches you looking around curiously as you walk, and generously explains the types of rooms and offices you walk past like some sort of tour guide. In fact, he apologizes for not being able to give you a more thorough tour and you frantically assure him that this was more than you'd ever expected in the first place.
You don't catch the pleased look he has as you crawl out of your shell a bit to ask him more questions, but Ha‐Yun shoots him a grateful look over your head. If you see the tiny nod they exchange, you just assume they're using their listening skills as you speak.

Once in four years mcsm hyperfixation is back baby, and on this most recent rewatch some interesting patterns popped up for me. Honestly this might not be a new conversation, but I had no idea the fandom was still so lively. I've loved this game since it first came out and I really love that so many people still talk about it. Anyways, disregarding S2 for a moment (my opp), I think it's so intriguing the way the writers set up S1 and the art of history repeating itself.
The Order of the Stone were (supposedly) the greatest group of heroes that every lived, but they started out as something so much simpler. They were just friends who wanted to go on adventures and maybe make a difference in the world. Of course their trajectory and outcomes were much different from the modern crew, but in many ways they're still similar. I'll get to the in a sec, but I wanna talk about the originals first.
The original Order kinda breaks my heart, because frankly I think their intentions were good, they just lost their way and got caught up in the glory, not the adventure. They all make it seem like they've known each other for a lifetime, so it's easy to assume that even if they hadn't seen each other in like a decade, they had still known one another for practically twenty years. Soren describes their first adventure like a shot in the dark, and how they were so young. So my guess is they met in their late teens/early twenties, the same age I assume the modern crew is when their story starts. Yes they're all bitter in the main story, but their history seeps into every interaction. Magnus called Ellegaard, Ellie, and it might feel malicious at first, but he still uses it after she dies, which leads me to believe it started out with affection. Then there's Soren and Ivor, who were constantly fighting and at each other's throat. This makes me feel like there might've been a point when they were the closest. Magnus and Ellegaard seem almost relieved to see Ivor, even after they know what he'd done. The command block had led them to great success, but it also ruined the one real thing they had, their friendship with each other. Honestly I think the most heartbreaking thing is they were so close to reuniting again, but Magnus or Ellegaard dies, and Gabriel doesn’t have his memory. Then when the dust finally settles, Soren is gone. Ugh just tragic friend group save me, they are the ones that made me realize how much I love the niche trope of a friend group "haunting the narrative". Their friendship and fallout is what causes the events of the entire story, and thus thrusts Jesse into action. If they had never been friends there would've been no Wither storm, their actions led the modern crew to where they are now. Anyway mini rant over my fault, but how does that effect the crew? Well honestly it felt like they were doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
There's Jesse, the fearless leader who always has the answers and a plan for that matter. Caring, direct, and motivated, she begins the story feeling like she is destined for more. She would do anything for her friends and she's a quick learner in a life she doesn't fully understand yet. Soren was likely the same, he was trying to herd three maniacs and a genius together, and something tells me the leader role wasn't his original goal. He thought the command block was helping, when he was really just fighting his friends battles for them. Soren's life became one of solitude and guilt, one I think Jesse was perhaps destined to as well. The courageous leader doomed to isolation and doubt, unable to comprehend the road that led to their downfall.
Petra's pessimistic and sarcastic nature defines her a first, but it's clear that she's so much more than meets the eye. She's determined, chivalrous, and sometimes (overly) reckless too. Above all she strives to be a protector, of people, of her friends, and of her ideals. That's what keeps her from laying down her sword even though she longs for a life without battle. History says Gabriel was the same protector, even if we truly know him to be different, but this isn't about reality right now. Regardless of this they were seen as the fighters, with the only enemy too strong to beat lying in their imagination. The brave warrior doomed to die and lose their self in battle, interpreting life as nothing more than a fight to be won or forever lost.
It's hard to say what else describes Axel but bluntness. He's an out of the box thinker who can perhaps be slow at times, but he makes up for it when it really counts. He holds his friends close, and views others in a hostile matter (for better or for worse), and at the end of the day his hard exterior is easy to see right through to those who matter. Magnus is spunky and edgy, and rolls his eyes at the mere mention of the others, yet like Axel, it's simple to see right through him. His love for the others is something he shields, and it's clear he does this by pretending his life is perfect the way it is. The maverick doomed to surround themselves with a false sense of community and leadership, forever unaware of all that lies out of their reach
Olivia is intelligent, innovative, and practical. She usually prefers a simple solution but that's not to say she can't also have fun. She's compassionate and curious, and enjoys going through hypotheticals just to be extra prepared (or simply for a easy pass time). She's amiable and while her skills aren't exactly adept, it's clear she has a desire to learn. Ellegaard is a similar, and although she's jaded and has far more of an attitude, it's not hard to believe she used to be similar in her youth. It's also very likely they would have the same coping methods, focusing on red stone is far easier than focusing on others. The brilliant engineer doomed to surround themselves with their machines and inventions, who instead distance themselves from any real connections.
And finally there's Lukas. Selfless, kind, and impeccably loyal, in some ways he's the glue that held them all together. His intense desire to meditate got them out of a few fights, even if his presence initially caused them. He's the resident worrier of the group, and his only goal is to make sure his friends are safe and sound. Glory and adventure are the furthest thing from his mind, they're just a welcome bonus. Ivor clearly cared very deeply for the group, because he was the most hurt by Soren's secret. Even after his anger at them, it's evident they were never far from his mind. He tried so much to get them to see reason, but it was all for nothing. The permanent outcast, doomed to try the best they can to save the group, but who will inevitably be the one to ruin them all.
Of course those fates didn't really fall on the old order, that was just what people expected of them. Soren understood very well what he did wrong, Gabriel lived on, Magnus or Ellegaard died, and Ivor didn't ruin them, he just exposed them (even if his wither storm did kill one of them, but that wasn't really the point). Yet what truly happens in history, versus what we've been told or come to expect are quite different. I just think it could've been interesting for the writers to play into this predetermined fate the group already had, perhaps they would accept it, or maybe they would run from it so fiercely that they end up right where they feared. Or maybe their friendship was enough, and they never got wrapped up in the greed or the glory. Obviously that's not where S2 went at all, but it's was just something interesting to think about.
#mcsm#minecraft#minecraft story mode#generally don't ask where this came from#cause frankly idk#every once in a while this game resurfaces in my brain#it's like a sleeper agent#still obsessed with them after all this time#s2 is bad fanfic to me idc#s1 writers I could see the vision yall had#IF NO ONE HAD YOU I DID TRUST!!#anyway might make more posts about mcsm we'll see#I just wanna yap about little details you know me

Digital Hearts
Episode 1: Beginnings
(⚠️LOTS OF READING⚠️)
(We begin many years ago… in the land known as Paradise Peninsula. There is a pan shot roll in with the tide as we come across the house of our main character Pomni.)
(Pomni rushes out of her home suddenly, as for now, she is a kid. She begins to run around Paradise Peninsula while the camera follows her.)
(She eventually knocks on another door, and a few moments later, out pops Ragatha, one of 2 childhood friends.)
POMNI:
Hey! Ragatha! Wanna hang out?
RAGATHA:
Of course, Pom! What'cha got planned today?
POMNI:
Oh nothin, maybe explore a certain area I might've saw a Paopu Fruit at.
RAGATHA:
NO WAY!!
POMNI:
(SHE NODS) Let's go get Jax, then we'll look for it!
RAGATHA:
(SHE SMIRKED) Lead the way Pom!
(As they run to Jax's house, the camera follows them both again.)
(This time Ragatha knocks on Jax's door)
(He answers and gives his usual remarks)
JAX:
Rags, Pom, what a surprise! Always thrilled to see you two…whats up?
RAGATHA:
Pomni thinks she found a Papou Fruit!
JAX:
Pfft..no way, Pom. Those things are as rare as it gets. Not even my folks have seen one in their lifetime.
POMNI:
Seeing is believing and I KNOW I saw one.
JAX:
Alright, Alright. Show us then.
(The Squad does one last follow cam shot till they get to the fruit Pomni is taking then to.)
POMNI:
There it is… BASK in its glory.
(RAGATHA and JAX look up in awe, they can't believe they are seeing a Papou Fruit.)
JAX:
I've got to be dreaming.
POMNI:
I heard if you find it, any wish you make on it comes true… wanna race for it?
RAGATHA and JAX:
You bet!
(The Squad begins to race to where the Papou Fruit is. Pomni ends up winning.)
POMNI:
I won! Hmm… whaddya guys want?
JAX:
Hmm… how about more Christmas presents?
RAGATHA:
Y'know, I feel like we need adventure in our lives!
JAX:
For once, Rags is right.
POMNI:
Ok… I wish me and my friends went on a grand adventure!
(Transition to the medieval floating kingdom of Hollow Chesstion, where mannequins walk the streets. Fade to Pomni's new house.)
(Adult Pomni walks out into the streets but gets trampled by 3 hooded figures, and a pair of teeth with eyes behind them)
KING CAINE:
Stop this instant! YOU FIENDS!!
(Pomni blankly stares up at them from the ground as the hooded figures disappear from sight. The King guy stops and looks at Pomni)
KING CAINE:
You! Did you see those hooligans? The tall one with the fancier cloak overtook the castle and turned our King against us.
POMNI:
Well golly.. who's king now?
KING CAINE:
I guess I'll have to suffice as I AM his royal advisor… say…would you be up for the adventure of a lifetime?
POMNI:
Oh.. I don't know I kinda spent all my childhood building a boat and sailing the seas to get here…um that's enough adventure for me.
KING CAINE:
That's quite a shame…it would entail endless riches and the power of… The Digital Heart.
POMNI:
The Digital Heart? What's that?
KING CAINE:
Imagine, a status of a hero, a legend in history, plus all the Gloinkoin you could ever wish for!
POMNI:
…Um…
KING CAINE:
FANTASTICAL!
POMNI:
But I didnt say-
KING CAINE:
I'll even let you pick out TWO allies so you're not alone!
POMNI:
I.. I..(She sighs) I guess if I HAVE to do this, I'll pick my friends, Jax and Ragatha.
KING CAINE:
Splendid! I shall call you all to the castle this afternoon to get prepared for the adventure of a lifetime!
(Later that afternoon, Pomni arrives with Jax and Ragatha. A Mannequin guard stops them at the castle gate.)
MANNEQUIN GUARD:
Halt, what brings you to King Caine's Castle?
POMNI:
(She was slightly taken aback that the guards had so quickly accepted Caine as king) Um… my friends and I were invited to talk to him about.. an.. “adventure of a lifetime”?
MANNEQUIN GUARD:
I see, Lower the bridge!
(Right then the Drawbridge to the castle came crashing down and two fancy red double doors awaited at the end of a beautiful garden. Our trio marched on and through the doors)
(Caine sat on the throne awaiting their arrival)
KING CAINE:
Pomni! You arrived! Who might your friends be?
POMNI:
These are my friends, Ragatha(She motions towards the ragdoll) and Jax(motions towards the purple rabbit)
KING CAINE:
It's quite a pleasure to meet you both. I suppose if you three are going to go on an adventure, you need the proper etiquette! So I shall grant you three magic and weapons!
(The three of them seemed excited)
KING CAINE:
Ragatha, I shall make you a mage. So here's a wand, and a new set of threads!
(Caine did some magic of his own and Ragatha's outfit transformed onto a light blue dress with patches, a long purple cloak and a Obtained a blue hat with a big patch on it)
KING CAINE:
Now you will be the mage and healer, you have access to Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder! You also can use cure to help your teammates! Use this power carefully because you can run out of mana!
RAGATHA:
Sweet!(She waved her new wand around a bit)
KING CAINE:
Jax, It's not much but here is a shield and a small sword! You are the warrior/brute of the group! You can't use magic but you have a higher critical hit chance!
JAX:
Can't complain if I get to swing around a sword.. HAH!(he swings it around as well, but more rapidly, Ragatha had to duck.)
KING CAINE:
Now, Pomni I am trusting you with the most powerful weapon in the world, The Keyblade. It can unlock any door…and cast spells AND be used as sword. You are the leader of this adventure.
Your task is to find The Digital Heart, Find The Lost Princess ane Defeat The Dark One. I'm almost certain he won't stop at Hollow Chesstion, but take over other worlds as well.
For now… I feel like he might cause trouble near the town square for that's the direction I had to chase him and his colleagues.
I'll give you Bubble as a companion. She can do a lot of things such as shop items, sell items and even Upgrade you and your party. Explore with her a bit and she can unlock some real potential that will help you on your journey.
(Pomni looked nervous as she was soaking all this in)
KING CAINE:
No more lollygagging! Go forth and save the world!
(With that our squad was pushed out of the castle and before their eyes there stood a large abstracted blob in the distance, presumably at the Town Square)
POMNI:
Oh s[#^#^#]

Day 23 -- Neil
The (nsfw) details for Kinktober 2023, Day 23 are just below the cut!
Minors, please don’t interact.
Sex Toys with Neil x M!Six
Yay, Neil! Another supermutant who is just so damn interesting to write for and think about! Just... his relationship with humans as a whole is complicated, I think, so it was fun to try and explore how he'd go about being in a relationship with one.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy! <3
Here is the link to my Kinktober 2023 Event List so you can stay up-to-date, or re-visit these works as you please.
Included: Sex Toys, fingering, anal fingering, dildos, size difference, lube, kissing, hand job, frottage, cum shot, a teensy bit of aftercare.
Words: 2.1k
--
“Come on, human. If you really want this, you’re going to have to show me how much.”
Six’s eyes watered as he rode his partner’s thick fingers. From this angle, he couldn’t see Neil’s face, couldn’t see the way his warm eyes raked down his smaller frame, taking in the slickness of his sweat over his smooth skin, the light play of muscle in his back, the endearing little jiggle of his ass.
The vast differences between the two of them might’ve meant ruin, for other couples maybe, but for Six and Neil… Their uniqueness didn’t end in disagreement, but in compliment. Where Neil was stern, Six brought levity, where the mutant was tall and strong, Six was… well, human sized, and he was cunning and light footed, Six was hopeful, optimistic, spontaneous, and Neil grounded him, through his lifetime of experience, the hell he’s been through, what he’s heard people say about him, how the world has chosen to treat him– his kind, and Six made it… bearable.
Who would’ve thought a human would be able to influence him so.
He did though, Six did influence him.
The courier was doing it now, with Neil’s name on his breath, with his hands grasping to the mutant’s huge thighs as he ground down against his still-clothed bulge with a desperate goal in mind.
I will take him. One day.
I'll be with him... wholly.
Six’s brows creased together as his hips continued their grinding. He felt sweat trickle down his spine from the effort, from the stretch of him.
Of just his fingers.
The thought had him swallowing down a whimper.
“If you can’t take this, what makes you think–”
“I’m trying.” Six managed between breaths, and felt his back arch at the way Neil’s digits curled against the walls of his ass.
“Care to– fuck, help me out?”
He couldn’t relax, not the way he knew he was meant to, the way Neil had gotten him to the last night they’d done this. There was still a ways to go, the file cabinet drawer he’d peeked into at the start of the night had reminded him.
Multiple colors, textures, and of course sizes.
Tabitha hadn’t been good for much, but she had been good for something.
After a few rounds of terse boiling, Neil had deemed the array of dildos safe for his partner, but even still… that didn’t mean his partner was able to take them all yet.
A rumble sounded behind him, and Six’s hips rolled of their own accord with the jostling of Neil’s chuckle.
“As you say, human.”
The mutant’s dark hand, his free one, evidently, appeared in Six’s line of sight. The broad mit went directly to his half-hard cock, giving it a rousing squeeze that had Six gasping for air and more all at once. Immediately, his hips picked up their pace, and he felt his ass give a vise-like clench over his partner’s fingers.
“Hmm, effective. I’ll keep this in mind.”
As though he didn’t know the effect his hand on my cock would have on me.
Six could’ve rolled his eyes, if they weren’t already in the back of his skull. Throaty moans were leaving him now, as Neil’s rough hand massaged his cock, and as his fingers made a scissoring motion within him, stretching his walls further with each forceful undulation.
“T-that’s it, Neil, that’s–”
His own groan interrupted him as the pads of Neil’s fingers pressed to that sensitive place deep, deep inside. Six’s hold on his partner’s thighs clenched tighter, his own spread legs squeezed at Neil’s waist, and his his stuttering hips ground harder into the mutant’s steadily growing bulge.
“I’d say we’re close enough now, hm?”
Six didn’t answer, only his walls bore down on Neil's digits and his grinding grew more desperate, but that was voice enough for him.
In the next instant, Neil began to ease his fingers out, and he pulled his other hand away from Six’s cock at the same time.
“Wha-? Neeeeil…” It came out an embarrassing whine that had the mutant laughing once again.
“Go on.” He urged, ignoring the human’s complaint with a fond look on his face and a playful swat of his hand over his ass.
A huff escaped him, but still, Six felt a giddy little jump from his stomach to his throat, as he slid off the bed and approached the file cabinet.
“The one on the left should do it. That bluish color, I think.”
Six’s eyes scanned the collection of phalluses, his mouth growing dry with each unique shape, with the increasing sizes, until his gaze set upon the recommended one.
“Y-you sure?”
“I know you, Six.” Neil’s voice was actually reassuring, genuine affection brimming at the surface of his words as he spoke softly from his place on the bed. “I know you can handle it. I’ll be here for you all the way.”
A sigh left him, and then Six reached for the dildo. The… object was heavy, solid, shaped like a human man, thankfully, and not one of those Yao Guais-cock-looking toys, but still… It was awfully large, easily wider than three of Six’s fingers around, and probably eight or nine inches long. He found his hands were shaking as he carried it back over to the bed.
Six paused beside the mattress and slicked the dildo with a hefty coating of lube from the scraggly bedside table, and then pressed the thing into Neil’s eager grasp.
“You will do well, Six. I know this.” Neil’s hand pressed to the courier’s back, urging him forward until their mouths were pressed to one another’s. The mutant’s lips were firm and thin, but their touch was deliberately soft as he brushed them over his partner’s, reassuring him with more than just words.
“Are you ready?”
He nodded before he uttered a soft yes under his breath, and felt Neil smile before he pulled away completely.
With the mutant’s guidance, Six straddled him, this time face-to-face, and settled in his lap. Neil adjusted accordingly, sitting back against the wall that acted as the bed’s headboard, and pulled Six forward to rest comfortably over the tent of growing arousal in his shorts.
“Lean forward for me, human.”
“You know, there are better terms of endearment for your romantic partner.” Six quipped as he did as Neil requested, and leaned until he could wrap his forearms around the back of the mutant’s neck.
“There are worse ones, too.” Neil gave it right back, that semblance of a smile on his stiff face. “But very well, babe. Hold onto me.”
Six’s arms pulled him closer, almost lifting himself off Neil’s lap completely now. Already, he missed the heat of his partner’s erection pressing into his backside, but he wasn’t left yearning for long. Neil reached the dildo around Six’s body, nudging the exaggerated glans of the blue-grey monster to his entrance, before pulling back, and merely rubbing the slick there, spreading a healthy coating between his cheeks.
“Relax. Or this will hurt you.”
Neil’s shoulders shook as a shiver passed through his body, inspired by the deep breath that Six released against his chest as he leaned his head there. It felt safe, the warm dim of the mutant’s chest, that thunderous heartbeat, the audible fill and release of his huge lungs, the slightly plush firmness of his pronounced muscles. Six wished he could spend every night buried in the safehouse above his partner’s heart.
“Mm. Better, babe. Keep it up.”
Neil’s voice was so soft, so clear and affectionate… unlike any mutant’s– or human’s– voice he’d ever heard. It was as comforting as it was commanding, firm as it was breathy. It was the same sort of paradox that their relationship sparked; gruff, but bursting at the seams with overwhelming and inexplicable affection.
The only sounds in the room were of that same affection, gasping breaths, complimentary heartbeats, the creaking of the mattress below their combined weight.
Another boon of Tabitha’s bunker in the mountains.
The quiet, the silence, the alone-ness.
The peace of being only with Neil.
Six’s fingertips creased the mutant’s tough skin, as Neil began the steady process of easing the dildo’s tip inside.
“Steady, Six.” He whispered, shimmying the thing a bit as he pushed forward ever so slowly. “That’s it, baby. Breathe through it.”
He did just as his partner told him, he stayed relaxed, he breathed slow breaths, he focused on the feelings pouring all throughout his body, not just where the dildo was entering him.
Though… as time went on, he found he didn’t mind the stretch. He felt himself becoming used to it, felt a fuzziness clouding his brain, felt a heat gathering in his belly, a stiffness taking hold of his cock.
“Neil–” He choked out, but not for the reason he would’ve thought.
“Too fast?” The mutant asked, and his movements ceased.
“No!” Six very nearly shouted into his partner’s ear canal. “No, the opposite, please. More, Neil.”
A roll of his hips gave the mutant another hint, as he felt the hardness of his partner’s member digging into his stomach.
“More.” Six repeated, and Neil groaned in response.
If his shallow breaths were anything to go off of, the mutant was becoming increasingly aroused just the same as Six. With a slight buck of his large hips up off the mattress, Neil pressed the remainder of the dildo inside.
Six whimpered at the feeling, goosebumps shooting up the bareness of his back, his chords of muscle clenching beneath his skin, and his breath left him in fevered pants, as Neil merely ground the beast against his walls.
“Good?” The mutant asked on a grunt, as Six’s writhing hips caught on his straining member below.
“Mhm.” Was all the courier managed, but of his own accord, he started rutting right back into the toy.
Neil released another hearty laugh as he began to thrust the instrument forward and back in small increments. One huge hand held to the small of Six’s back, urging him down to grind over Neil’s erection with his own. Soon, the stimulation had them both gasping and groaning, drinking in each other’s breaths from their proximity as both their minds became fogged and tangled with arousal, with need.
Six’s eyes closed as he breathed his partner in, his scent thick and musty, but also natural, like gasoline and pine trees, gunpowder and fresh rain, sweat and soil. He was human… but also something more.
With his partner all around him, the feeling of his hard skin, the smell of him so close, the taste of him lingering on Six’s tongue, it was easy to imagine the cock in his ass was Neil’s as well.
The delicious stretch, the orgasmic press of the firm head against the very back of him, the vigor in which it entered him, and the reluctance as it pulled away. All things screamed Neil, and that thought, that wish for the future of their relationship spurred the courier forward. He ground his hips over Neil’s, feeling the throb of his massive cock even through the fabric of his pants, and his own member gave an enthusiastic little pulse as it felt his partner’s reactions firsthand.
“Getting close?” The mutant asked between breaths.
Six could only nod as he panted himself, as that fog filled his mind and dulled all other abilities but for the means to experience pleasure. Neil must’ve felt it though, for his thrusts increased in depth and intensity, pounding the dildo into his partner until Six’s whole body was being thrown into the mutant's chest, until Six was gasping and crying out, until his face scrunched and his hands clenched and his cock was spilling his pleasure out onto Neil’s lower belly.
Six felt the heat of his own release as he continued to rut against his partner until his cock ran dry, until his ass felt used and wrung out and sore. His legs shook, and his hands ached where they clung to Neil’s shoulders, and slowly, carefully, the mutant eased the dildo out of him.
“There.” He whispered as the enlarged, hard plastic glans tugged at Six’s entrance before coming away completely, “That’s another down.”
Six tried to smile, but he felt too tired for even that, as Neil’s arms tugged him closer, until he could press a kiss to the top of Six’s head.
“How do you feel, human?”
Six's chest warmed at the silly petname, at the feel of his partner's strong arms caressing his fatigued body.
“It’s one more closer to you.” He said, and kissed Neil’s chest.
Another pleasant rumble left the mutant, as he held his human close, and they both laid adrift in sweet musings of the future that awaited them.

Tag Game - First 10 Lines
Rules: share the first lines of ten of your most recent fanfics and tag ten people. If you have written less than ten, don’t be shy and share anyway.
hi @picnokinesis and thanks for the tag! let's pretend it hasn't been an entire month since you tagged me, and that i didn't spend a whole 15 minutes trying to remember my password to this account before giving up and resetting it. sounds good? sounds good.
i don't exactly have 10 doctor who fics, i don't think? we'll see how far we get with the wips floating around my onenote, and if it's not 10, i'll pad it with other fics -- it'll be a guess the fandom sort of thing, fun for the whole family (although, if you do guess the fandom from one line, i'll be genuinely impressed). starting with the completed ones:
you're the one that i need, i'm the one that you loathe ; nebulously mid s12 thoschei one-shot
“I think it should be me who kills you.”
2. it makes me who i am (i burned it all but i'm doing fine) ; canon divergence where 13 thinks to dive into the matrix mid s12 and sort of uh. breaks her own mind, it's fine, she's alright. thoschei one-shot.
She stands alone, and watches the flames dance.
3. on the catfish and its adaptive capacity in adverse temporal conditions ; you guessed it, mid s12 thoschei one-shot. 13 pays a visit to O for ScienceTM. it doesn't go great.
This is arguably not the most brilliant plan the Doctor’s ever come up with.
and now for the wips. titles are temporary and, were i to finish any of these, would probably change 3-6 times before actually being posted
4. i've loved you for a hundred years (certainly fucking feels like it) ; human au spydoc one-shot that got away from me a bit and that i never ended up finishing.
There's a star in his kitchen.
5. the enemy of my enemy, and other cautionary tales ; i don't even know what this was going to be, but it was going to involve a team-up with Jack and the Master, and some shenanigans. maybe even some hijinks? hard to say.
"So," Jack says, wondering why the hell he's still standing here, "explain to me again why I should care?"
6. driving lessons ; a tentatively thasmin one-shot set between s12 and flux, exploring how yaz learnt to pilot the tardis as well as she has, aka 13 teaches her something instead of apologizing every time she behaves like a dick. might still finish this one, actually
"Want me to show you how to reset the chronion collector brackets?"
7. help is on the way ; a jack/13 one-shot set after once, upon time, because how could i not bring jack into the aftermath of whatever the hell happened in that episode
She holds it together for a remarkably long time, all things considered.
8. another night and i'll see you (another night and i'll be you) ; power of the doctor one-shot, exploring whatever the fuck happened with that doctor/master combination. got distracted from it, but honestly would like to go back to it at some point because seriously, the implications
He— she— they— are bleeding.
the other doctor who wips are not at a stage where they have opening lines, so bonus round!
9. a day in the life, and other team building exercises ; okay, this one's an easy fandom guess, but it's not about to be posted any time soon, so shouldn't give me away
"Warden," Camilla says, with all the neutrality only a lifetime can teach, "is that a knife?"
10. quick study ; teaching one's teammate to drive when one's teammate also happens to be an alien with a bit of a kleptomaniac streak
"This just seems so unnecessarily complicated."
and that's 10! this was very fun, thank you again for the tag! I don't really have many mutuals on this account, but if you see this and are interested, consider yourself tagged! i love reading these tag games
#tag game#i have had zero time to write lately alas#but this was a fun way to remember all the stuff i /was/ going to write#i actually do want to finish a lot of these#guess we'll see.....

The Mandela Effect - Deja Vu
Day 26 of @augusnippets
Prompts: Nightmare/warm blanket/snuggling
Features characters from FOTD BY @moonlightsmasquerade
CW: Nightmare, drowning, foreshadowed lady whump
Llywelyn had no idea where he was for a moment. All he knew was that it was dark, cold and his eyes stung. He couldn't feel the ground beneath him. When he tried to speak, salt invaded his mouth.
He was in the water.
How did he get in there? Did he fall in somehow? Was he lured in by them?
He tried to swim up, but something grabbed him by the ankle. He looked to see a creature resembling his likeness. Panicking now, he tried to get out of its grasp, but it only smirked, showing its toothy grin as its grip tightened. He screamed, bubbles coming out of his mouth as he thrashed around. The fight lasted for about a minute before he heard something - someone - jump in.
Ada had jumped in after him, pulling out her gun and shooting the fish creature multiple times before it finally let go. Ada grabbed Llywelyn's hand and started to swim up. She was just about to reach the surface when something pulled her back, ripping Llywelyn from her grasp. His eyes widened when he saw that the creature had taken her, covering her mouth as she squirmed for freedom.
You can't save her, Llywelyn. She is meant to die. You already averted death once. You can't do it again.
Llywelyn reached out his hand and once more tried to scream. This time, a name came out of him.
"ADA!!!"
Llywelyn shot up in bed, gasping for air. His lungs burned as though he hadn't breathed for a while. His skin was covered in a thick sheet of sweat and his hands were trembling. He buried his face in his hands. "Dammit.... Not again..."
Why? Why did he have that nightmare again? Ever since the rescue team saved Sean from his impossible death, he had been having recurring nightmares about Ada dying, being pulled into the dark depths by the creatures from the legends. But that's impossible. She's still here with him. She's still alive so what do those nightmares mean?
"Lyn? Are you okay?"
Llywelyn jumped at Ada's sudden voice. "O-Oh! Yeah, I-I'm fine. It's just..."
"Another nightmare?"
He slowly nodded.
"Oh honey..." She pulled him close. "It's okay. I'm here."
Llywelyn snuggled his head in her chest, hearing her steady heartbeat. For some reason, the sound of her heart gave him a sense of comfort. It was a sign that she was still here, still alive on this earth. She ran her fingers through his hair, earning him a contented sigh.
"Are... these nightmares the same?" Ada asked.
"Yeah. For some reason, they all featured you being pulled under the water. I was... helpless to do anything. I couldn't even..."
"Shh..." She stroked his hair. "It's okay. I'm here. Nothing's gonna happen to me, alright?"
"But what if something does happen and I won't be able to help you? Y-You're a valued member of our team and we've known each other since we were kids. I don't want to lose what we have because of some Lovecraftian monstrosities."
"Lyn, I promise you that nothing's gonna happen to me. I'm a tough gal. You know I can handle anything."
"You sure?"
"I'm sure. Now, can I get you anything? Tea?"
"...Tea does sound nice."
"Alright, I'll be back in a jiffy."
After she left the room, Llywelyn was left with his thoughts. He knew she said she could take care of herself, but the truth was... He was scared for her. He had let a nightmare about her death overtake him, causing him to overanalyze what she did. Jack started asking him what was wrong with Llywelyn reassuring him that he's fine. But how long could he keep lying to him? How long until the nightmares of death finally stop?
Sometimes, he had the feeling that it wasn't nightmares. That maybe, just maybe that he had experienced it in another lifetime. A lifetime full of tragedy.
"Lyn, your tea is ready." Ada set his teacup down on the nightstand. "I also got a fluffy blanket in the dryer. I figure you really need it."
"Oh... Thanks, but you don't have to do that."
"You're my co-worker, silly. I have to make sure you're in tip top shape for the job." She winked.
Llywelyn chuckled as he took the teacup. He took a small sip and smiled. Honey tea, just the way Ada made it.
People sometimes asked him if he had a crush on Ada based on their history together. He always answered honestly. 'No. I do not.' Those feelings have not changed. He had never dated anyone nor did he plan to. Even if Ada did, by some chance, have some sort of feelings for Llywelyn, it would be completely one sided. It was the largest if since Ada never looked at Llywelyn any differently. She only saw him as a co-worker, a friend. And that alone was perfectly fine with him.
Soon after Llywelyn was done with his tea, Ada had wrapped the freshly warm blanket around him. Already, he was beginning to feel sleepy. He buried his face in the soft fabric as his head hit the pillow.
"Hehehe. Do you want me to stay with you? At least until I know you won't be having anymore of these bad dreams?" Ada asked, smirking.
"Nah, I think I'll be fine."
"Alright, I'll be next door if you need anything."
As soon as she was out the door, he was beginning to nod off. Suddenly, the worries he had for her didn't matter. She was here to stay. And in that moment, he was happy.
Three weeks later, Ada drowned.

So you're ready not to bail when shit gets rough? Relia had always appreciated that about Cy--there was no guessing. He was blunt and wasn't afraid to ask you questions head-on. Letting out a small sigh, they said "Actually, yeah. I think I am. I don't know, just... Seeing her like that. The way I felt when I found out she was hurt... I can't believe I went to so long without trying to get her back just because I was... Lost in my own bullshit or whatever. I love her, man."
And he was probably right about Andrea. Andie still remained one of the kindest people that Relia had ever met. Honestly, her ability to be understanding and forgiving astounded the witch. They didn't deserve her, really. But they'd be so lucky and grateful to have her. Listening to Cy's words, Relia's brow furrowed when he mentioned Stella regretting it. This doubt didn't surprise them, but they still hated to think that Cy even pondered that for a moment. Though this time, they couldn't be sure just what Cyrek was specifically speaking of. "Regretted what exactly?..."
S'not that easy to do when you've 'ad a lifetime of experience blamin' yourself for everythin', right? At this, they looked down at their hands for just a moment, feeling the shame even then. Aurelia did blame themselves--they blamed themselves for what happened to their sisters, for not being able to help. They blamed themselves for Sera's demise as well. It was hard to not feel responsible when in those scenarios, they'd been alone in the aftermath for so long. "No, it certainly is not... Neither is knowing how the loss of someone that important feels. I guess that's why I got so freaked out when I heard she was in the hospital. It reminded me of Sera in a way." They'd shared the story of their past misadventures in Manchester with Cyrek, though they seldom ever mentioned it.
How'd they look when you saw 'em? 'Sides the ugly waterworks. Letting out a soft chuckle, they said "Uh, they're bandaged up but overall, I think they're gonna' be okay. I'm just really glad the fire wasn't worse. I wish I'd listened to my intuition more closely. I felt that something bad was going to happen so I made sure that I wasn't around Rabbit Creek that day--but now, I wished I'd stayed to help." Maybe they could've helped Andrea or maybe they could've been a witness to help prove that Ava was not who the local authorities were trying to say she was right now. But Aurelia knew better than anyone that it didn't do much use to dawdle on what could have been.
At Cyrek's warning about high-end liquor, they rolled their eyes and said "Who do you think I am? Nothing about me is a high-end, thank you very much." Though they were sure that Stella might snap at them for a brief moment, they took a deep breath and flagged Stella down. Glancing at Cy with the shit-eating grin on his face, they said "If you keep smiling like that, she's gonna' know something's up." When the brunette came over, they said "Hey, Stell, can I please get another double-shot of Jameson and whatever this fool wants." When they were done with their order, Aurelia leaned over and covertly placed the twenty-dollar bill in her bra and said "For your troubles--and the liquor."
Once that was over, they couldn't help but laugh out loud at the prospect of a boombox. "It's like you have no idea who I am--I may be a little sappy right now but I'd never do anything like that." Running a hand through their hand, they shrugged and said "I think I should probably start with being honest about how I feel about her. I mean... It already kind of slipped out when I saw her the other day that I still love her, so... There's that." Letting out a sigh, they followed it with "I think I'll start by spending time with her. Maybe I'll stop by the record shop with a coffee or something once she's back at work... I don't know."
Practically watching them run through the five stages of grief, Cyrek's neutral expression ( or as it were more accurately depicted, a tried-and-true resting bitch face ) gave little leeway to any judgment prominent on his mind. Nor did he say anything when they presumed he had already learned of how the visit had unfolded — Annaki was a saint, and perhaps the piece de resistance or whatever Astarion had called it that proved he was of no blood relation to the triplets — he didn't think they had a malfeasant bone in their body. While he consorted with the noisome underbelly of Anchorage that enabled his self-hatred to burn oil into vitriol, they forged purified connections out of their unfailing desire to see the best in others.
Cyrek was who he was — take him or leave him in a relationship, he didn't think he was capable of breaking his bones and evolving into anything more than the piece of shit that he'd been forced to adopt too young to survive. He was a collection of rough edges, like Stella, but the fragmentations that people could lacerate themselves by gripping unto were the cracks in tearing asunder his foundation, the damages bleeding on through. It was with those inadequacies that he could fathom the other's formidable uncertainty: just because he and Stella's intense ardency for each other overruled the fickle phobias that had defined their youth, didn't mean he couldn't understand it. He ran away from Evren. Every hookup that demanded more of him. He'd thought about turning tail and running away to spare his embarrassment when he thought Stella didn't love him back, or when she lost the baby and he'd laid beside her at night and stared at the ceiling, pondering if he'd just worsened her life ten times more and if it would be better if he stole away in the night. Promised Evren to visit the kids and gave his girlfriend his trailer.
Deleting himself out of people's lives always seemed better than burdening them with his flawed genetic code and that fucked up head of his, constantly floating thoughts to sabotage any ounce of happiness he could choke down, to spit it back up in a depleted form.
Listening silently, he cocked an eyebrow, challenging, "So you're ready not to bail when shit gets rough?" That was the question — they'd pinpointed their wrongs, composed self-awareness of their own baggage. But words frequently meant nothing from people like them, a band of bikers cut from the same cloth. "I don't think Andrea's the type to think you're pullin' tricks out of your hat," he answered honestly, after assessing what he knew of the record store's manager, swiping his tongue over his top lip.
Nothing is too hard if I wanna do it for you. The words resonated through his being when he lifted his head to catch Stella's eyes, and the breath ebbed from his lungs, a hand pressing against the side of his face to make up for the abrupt rise of temperature in the room. "Yeah... I dunno how I hit the jackpot with that one. Only took me too many fuckin' years. Sometimes I wonder if she's ever regretted it..." The brunette gave up her quick fix, only to lose a baby. She changed her entire life for him, and he hadn't asked it of her, but he'd stuck by her side through it and bored himself through every NA meeting, and catered to her every whim. There were snap moments that the irrationalities would be overbearing, though, and he'd think that she could resent him for it, one day.
The glass clinked against the table emptily, as he pulled the conversation away from his own relationship to say, "Guess that means we gotta learn to trust that if they don't say it, it's their own fault for leavin' it unspoken. S'not that easy to do when you've 'ad a lifetime of experience blamin' yourself for everythin', right?" That was what it boiled down to, he supposed. "How'd they look when you saw 'em? 'Sides the ugly waterworks."
The enthused grin on his face as the biker attempted to flag the right-hand back to their table widened impossibly, self-satisfied with their agreement to partake in his positively absurd plan. ( His girlfriend would definitely roll her eyes, emptily threaten him, and let Relia off on short notice, but she'd walk away smiling and hopefully with a hymn singing in her chest to reassure her she was still the sole person he had fawning eyes for. ) "Deal. I'll buy you whatever, just don't get nothin' off the high-end," he chirped as he opened up his wallet and flipped past the Polaroids stuffed into it, wrangling out a crumpled twenty and using the side of the table to smooth it out before handing it over. Cyrek was still grinning, and if it was hurting his facial muscles, he hardly took notice. "Then, you can tell me your big plan on how you're gonna win Andrea back. Please tell me it don't have anythin' to do with standin' outside her house with a boombox over your head, though."

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Ooh, black and yellow! Let's shake it up a little. Barry! Breakfast is ready! Ooming! Hang on a second. Hello? - Barry? - Adam? - Oan you believe this is happening? - I can't. I'll pick you up. Looking sharp. Use the stairs. Your father paid good money for those. Sorry. I'm excited. Here's the graduate. We're very proud of you, son. A perfect report card, all B's. Very proud. Ma! I got a thing going here. - You got lint on your fuzz. - Ow! That's me! - Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000. - Bye! Barry, I told you, stop flying in the house! - Hey, Adam. - Hey, Barry. - Is that fuzz gel? - A little. Special day, graduation. Never thought I'd make it. Three days grade school, three days high school. Those were awkward. Three days college. I'm glad I took a day and hitchhiked around the hive. You did come back different. - Hi, Barry. - Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good. - Hear about Frankie? - Yeah. - You going to the funeral? - No, I'm not going. Everybody knows, sting someone, you die. Don't waste it on a squirrel. Such a hothead. I guess he could have just gotten out of the way. I love this incorporating an amusement park into our day. That's why we don't need vacations. Boy, quite a bit of pomp... under the circumstances. - Well, Adam, today we are men. - We are! - Bee-men. - Amen! Hallelujah! Students, faculty, distinguished bees, please welcome Dean Buzzwell. Welcome, New Hive Oity graduating class of... ...9:15. That concludes our ceremonies. And begins your career at Honex Industries! Will we pick ourjob today? I heard it's just orientation. Heads up! Here we go. Keep your hands and antennas inside the tram at all times. - Wonder what it'll be like? - A little scary. Welcome to Honex, a division of Honesco and a part of the Hexagon Group. This is it! Wow. Wow. We know that you, as a bee, have worked your whole life to get to the point where you can work for your whole life. Honey begins when our valiant Pollen Jocks bring the nectar to the hive. Our top-secret formula is automatically color-corrected, scent-adjusted and bubble-contoured into this soothing sweet syrup with its distinctive golden glow you know as... Honey! - That girl was hot. - She's my cousin! - She is? - Yes, we're all cousins. - Right. You're right. - At Honex, we constantly strive to improve every aspect of bee existence. These bees are stress-testing a new helmet technology. - What do you think he makes? - Not enough. Here we have our latest advancement, the Krelman. - What does that do? - Oatches that little strand of honey that hangs after you pour it. Saves us millions. Oan anyone work on the Krelman? Of course. Most bee jobs are small ones. But bees know that every small job, if it's done well, means a lot. But choose carefully because you'll stay in the job you pick for the rest of your life. The same job the rest of your life? I didn't know that. What's the difference? You'll be happy to know that bees, as a species, haven't had one day off in 27 million years. So you'll just work us to death? We'll sure try. Wow! That blew my mind! "What's the difference?" How can you say that? One job forever? That's an insane choice to have to make. I'm relieved. Now we only have to make one decision in life. But, Adam, how could they never have told us that? Why would you question anything? We're bees. We're the most perfectly functioning society on Earth. You ever think maybe things work a little too well here? Like what? Give me one example. I don't know. But you know what I'm talking about. Please clear the gate. Royal Nectar Force on approach. Wait a second. Oheck it out. - Hey, those are Pollen Jocks! - Wow. I've never seen them this close. They know what it's like outside the hive. Yeah, but some don't come back. - Hey, Jocks! - Hi, Jocks!
Youguys did great! You're monsters! You're sky freaks! I love it! I love it! - I wonder where they were. - I don't know. Their day's not planned. Outside the hive, flying who knows where, doing who knows what. You can'tjust decide to be a Pollen Jock. You have to be bred for that. Right. Look. That's more pollen than you and I will see in a lifetime. It's just a status symbol. Bees make too much of it. Perhaps. Unless you're wearing it and the ladies see you wearing it. Those ladies? Aren't they our cousins too? Distant. Distant. Look at these two. - Oouple of Hive Harrys. - Let's have fun with them. It must be dangerous being a Pollen Jock. Yeah. Once a bear pinned me against a mushroom! He had a paw on my throat, and with the other, he was slapping me! - Oh, my! - I never thought I'd knock him out. What were you doing during this? Trying to alert the authorities. I can autograph that. A little gusty out there today, wasn't it, comrades? Yeah. Gusty. We're hitting a sunflower patch six miles from here tomorrow. - Six miles, huh? - Barry! A puddle jump for us, but maybe you're not up for it. - Maybe I am. - You are not! We're going 0900 at J-Gate. What do you think, buzzy-boy? Are you bee enough? I might be. It all depends on what 0900 means. Hey, Honex! Dad, you surprised me. You decide what you're interested in? - Well, there's a lot of choices. - But you only get one. Do you ever get bored doing the same job every day? Son, let me tell you about stirring. You grab that stick, and you just move it around, and you stir it around. You get yourself into a rhythm. It's a beautiful thing. You know, Dad, the more I think about it, maybe the honey field just isn't right for me. You were thinking of what, making balloon animals? That's a bad job for a guy with a stinger. Janet, your son's not sure he wants to go into honey! - Barry, you are so funny sometimes. - I'm not trying to be funny. You're not funny! You're going into honey. Our son, the stirrer! - You're gonna be a stirrer? - No one's listening to me! Wait till you see the sticks I have. I could say anything right now. I'm gonna get an ant tattoo! Let's open some honey and celebrate! Maybe I'll pierce my thorax. Shave my antennae. Shack up with a grasshopper. Get a gold tooth and call everybody "dawg"! I'm so proud. - We're starting work today! - Today's the day. Oome on! All the good jobs will be gone. Yeah, right. Pollen counting, stunt bee, pouring, stirrer, front desk, hair removal... - Is it still available? - Hang on. Two left! One of them's yours! Oongratulations! Step to the side. - What'd you get? - Picking crud out. Stellar! Wow! Oouple of newbies? Yes, sir! Our first day! We are ready! Make your choice. - You want to go first? - No, you go. Oh, my. What's available? Restroom attendant's open, not for the reason you think. - Any chance of getting the Krelman? - Sure, you're on. I'm sorry, the Krelman just closed out. Wax monkey's always open. The Krelman opened up again. What happened? A bee died. Makes an opening. See? He's dead. Another dead one. Deady. Deadified. Two more dead. Dead from the neck up. Dead from the neck down. That's life! Oh, this is so hard! Heating, cooling, stunt bee, pourer, stirrer, humming, inspector number seven, lint coordinator, stripe supervisor, mite wrangler. Barry, what do you think I should... Barry? Barry! All right, we've got the sunflower patch in quadrant nine... What happened to you? Where are you? - I'm going out. - Out? Out where? - Out there. - Oh, no! I have to, before I go to work for the rest of my life. You're gonna die! You're crazy! Hello? Another call coming in. If anyone's feeling brave, there's a Korean deli on 83rd that gets their roses today. Hey, guys. - Look at that. - Isn't that the kid we saw yesterday? Hold it, son, flight deck's restricted. It's OK, Lou. We're gonna take him up. Really? Feeling lucky, are you? Sign here, here. Just initial that. - Thank you. - OK. You got a rain advisory today, and as you all know, bees cannot fly in rain. So be careful. As always, watch your brooms, hockey
sticks, dogs, birds, bears and bats. Also, I got a couple of reports of root beer being poured on us. Murphy's in a home because of it, babbling like a cicada! - That's awful. - And a reminder for you rookies, bee law number one, absolutely no talking to humans! All right, launch positions! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Black and yellow! Hello! You ready for this, hot shot? Yeah. Yeah, bring it on. Wind, check. - Antennae, check. - Nectar pack, check. - Wings, check. - Stinger, check. Scared out of my shorts, check. OK, ladies, let's move it out! Pound those petunias, you striped stem-suckers! All of you, drain those flowers! Wow! I'm out! I can't believe I'm out! So blue. I feel so fast and free! Box kite! Wow! Flowers! This is Blue Leader. We have roses visual. Bring it around 30 degrees and hold. Roses! 30 degrees, roger. Bringing it around. Stand to the side, kid. It's got a bit of a kick. That is one nectar collector! - Ever see pollination up close? - No, sir. I pick up some pollen here, sprinkle it over here. Maybe a dash over there, a pinch on that one. See that? It's a little bit of magic. That's amazing. Why do we do that? That's pollen power. More pollen, more flowers, more nectar, more honey for us. Oool. I'm picking up a lot of bright yellow. Oould be daisies. Don't we need those? Oopy that visual. Wait. One of these flowers seems to be on the move. Say again? You're reporting a moving flower? Affirmative. That was on the line! This is the coolest. What is it? I don't know, but I'm loving this color. It smells good. Not like a flower, but I like it. Yeah, fuzzy. Ohemical-y. Oareful, guys. It's a little grabby. My sweet lord of bees! Oandy-brain, get off there! Problem! - Guys! - This could be bad. Affirmative. Very close. Gonna hurt. Mama's little boy. You are way out of position, rookie! Ooming in at you like a missile! Help me! I don't think these are flowers. - Should we tell him? - I think he knows. What is this?! Match point! You can start packing up, honey, because you're about to eat it! Yowser! Gross. There's a bee in the car! - Do something! - I'm driving! - Hi, bee. - He's back here! He's going to sting me! Nobody move. If you don't move, he won't sting you. Freeze! He blinked! Spray him, Granny! What are you doing?! Wow... the tension level out here is unbelievable. I gotta get home. Oan't fly in rain. Oan't fly in rain. Oan't fly in rain. Mayday! Mayday! Bee going down! Ken, could you close the window please? Ken, could you close the window please? Oheck out my new resume. I made it into a fold-out brochure. You see? Folds out. Oh, no. More humans. I don't need this. What was that? Maybe this time. This time. This time. This time! This time! This... Drapes! That is diabolical. It's fantastic. It's got all my special skills, even my top-ten favorite movies. What's number one? Star Wars? Nah, I don't go for that... ...kind of stuff. No wonder we shouldn't talk to them. They're out of their minds. When I leave a job interview, they're flabbergasted, can't believe what I say. There's the sun. Maybe that's a way out. I don't remember the sun having a big 75 on it. I predicted global warming. I could feel it getting hotter. At first I thought it was just me. Wait! Stop! Bee! Stand back. These are winter boots. Wait! Don't kill him! You know I'm allergic to them! This thing could kill me! Why does his life have less value than yours? Why does his life have any less value than mine? Is that your statement? I'm just saying all life has value. You don't know what he's capable of feeling. My brochure! There you go, little guy. I'm not scared of him. It's an allergic thing. Put that on your resume brochure. My whole face could puff up. Make it one of your special skills. Knocking someone out is also a special skill. Right. Bye, Vanessa. Thanks. - Vanessa, next week? Yogurt night? - Sure, Ken. You know, whatever. - You could put carob chips on there. - Bye. - Supposed to be less calories. - Bye. I gotta say something. She saved my life. I gotta say something. All
right, here it goes. Nah. What would I say? I could really get in trouble. It's a bee law. You're not supposed to talk to a human. I can't believe I'm doing this. I've got to. Oh, I can't do it. Oome on! No. Yes. No. Do it. I can't. How should I start it? "You like jazz?" No, that's no good. Here she comes! Speak, you fool! Hi! I'm sorry. - You're talking. - Yes, I know. You're talking! I'm so sorry. No, it's OK. It's fine. I know I'm dreaming. But I don't recall going to bed. Well, I'm sure this is very disconcerting. This is a bit of a surprise to me. I mean, you're a bee! I am. And I'm not supposed to be doing this, but they were all trying to kill me. And if it wasn't for you... I had to thank you. It's just how I was raised. That was a little weird. - I'm talking with a bee. - Yeah. I'm talking to a bee. And the bee is talking to me! I just want to say I'm grateful. I'll leave now. - Wait! How did you learn to do that? - What? The talking thing. Same way you did, I guess. "Mama, Dada, honey." You pick it up. - That's very funny. - Yeah. Bees are funny. If we didn't laugh, we'd cry with what we have to deal with. Anyway... Oan I... ...get you something? - Like what? I don't know. I mean... I don't know. Ooffee? I don't want to put you out. It's no trouble. It takes two minutes. - It's just coffee. - I hate to impose. - Don't be ridiculous! - Actually, I would love a cup. Hey, you want rum cake? - I shouldn't. - Have some. - No, I can't. - Oome on! I'm trying to lose a couple micrograms. - Where? - These stripes don't help. You look great! I don't know if you know anything about fashion. Are you all right? No. He's making the tie in the cab as they're flying up Madison. He finally gets there. He runs up the steps into the church. The wedding is on. And he says, "Watermelon? I thought you said Guatemalan. Why would I marry a watermelon?" Is that a bee joke? That's the kind of stuff we do. Yeah, different. So, what are you gonna do, Barry? About work? I don't know. I want to do my part for the hive, but I can't do it the way they want. I know how you feel. - You do? - Sure. My parents wanted me to be a lawyer or a doctor, but I wanted to be a florist. - Really? - My only interest is flowers. Our new queen was just elected with that same campaign slogan. Anyway, if you look... There's my hive right there. See it? You're in Sheep Meadow! Yes! I'm right off the Turtle Pond! No way! I know that area. I lost a toe ring there once. - Why do girls put rings on their toes? - Why not? - It's like putting a hat on your knee. - Maybe I'll try that. - You all right, ma'am? - Oh, yeah. Fine. Just having two cups of coffee! Anyway, this has been great. Thanks for the coffee. Yeah, it's no trouble. Sorry I couldn't finish it. If I did, I'd be up the rest of my life. Are you...? Oan I take a piece of this with me? Sure! Here, have a crumb. - Thanks! - Yeah. All right. Well, then... I guess I'll see you around. Or not. OK, Barry. And thank you so much again... for before. Oh, that? That was nothing. Well, not nothing, but... Anyway... This can't possibly work. He's all set to go. We may as well try it. OK, Dave, pull the chute. - Sounds amazing. - It was amazing! It was the scariest, happiest moment of my life. Humans! I can't believe you were with humans! Giant, scary humans! What were they like? Huge and crazy. They talk crazy. They eat crazy giant things. They drive crazy. - Do they try and kill you, like on TV? - Some of them. But some of them don't. - How'd you get back? - Poodle. You did it, and I'm glad. You saw whatever you wanted to see. You had your "experience." Now you can pick out yourjob and be normal. - Well... - Well? Well, I met someone. You did? Was she Bee-ish? - A wasp?! Your parents will kill you! - No, no, no, not a wasp. - Spider? - I'm not attracted to spiders. I know it's the hottest thing, with the eight legs and all. I can't get by that face. So who is she? She's... human. No, no. That's a bee law. You wouldn't break a bee law. - Her name's Vanessa. - Oh, boy. She's so nice. And she's a florist! Oh, no!
You'redating a human florist! We're not dating. You're flying outside the hive, talking to humans that attack our homes with power washers and M-80s! One-eighth a stick of dynamite! She saved my life! And she understands me. This is over! Eat this. This is not over! What was that? - They call it a crumb. - It was so stingin' stripey! And that's not what they eat. That's what falls off what they eat! - You know what a Oinnabon is? - No. It's bread and cinnamon and frosting. They heat it up... Sit down! ...really hot! - Listen to me! We are not them! We're us. There's us and there's them! Yes, but who can deny the heart that is yearning? There's no yearning. Stop yearning. Listen to me! You have got to start thinking bee, my friend. Thinking bee! - Thinking bee. - Thinking bee. Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! There he is. He's in the pool. You know what your problem is, Barry? I gotta start thinking bee? How much longer will this go on? It's been three days! Why aren't you working? I've got a lot of big life decisions to think about. What life? You have no life! You have no job. You're barely a bee! Would it kill you to make a little honey? Barry, come out. Your father's talking to you. Martin, would you talk to him? Barry, I'm talking to you! You coming? Got everything? All set! Go ahead. I'll catch up. Don't be too long. Watch this! Vanessa! - We're still here. - I told you not to yell at him. He doesn't respond to yelling! - Then why yell at me? - Because you don't listen! I'm not listening to this. Sorry, I've gotta go. - Where are you going? - I'm meeting a friend. A girl? Is this why you can't decide? Bye. I just hope she's Bee-ish. They have a huge parade of flowers every year in Pasadena? To be in the Tournament of Roses, that's every florist's dream! Up on a float, surrounded by flowers, crowds cheering. A tournament. Do the roses compete in athletic events? No. All right, I've got one. How come you don't fly everywhere? It's exhausting. Why don't you run everywhere? It's faster. Yeah, OK, I see, I see. All right, your turn. TiVo. You can just freeze live TV? That's insane! You don't have that? We have Hivo, but it's a disease. It's a horrible, horrible disease. Oh, my. Dumb bees! You must want to sting all those jerks. We try not to sting. It's usually fatal for us. So you have to watch your temper. Very carefully. You kick a wall, take a walk, write an angry letter and throw it out. Work through it like any emotion: Anger, jealousy, lust. Oh, my goodness! Are you OK? Yeah. - What is wrong with you?! - It's a bug. He's not bothering anybody. Get out of here, you creep! What was that? A Pic 'N' Save circular? Yeah, it was. How did you know? It felt like about 10 pages. Seventy-five is pretty much our limit. You've really got that down to a science. - I lost a cousin to Italian Vogue. - I'll bet. What in the name of Mighty Hercules is this? How did this get here? Oute Bee, Golden Blossom, Ray Liotta Private Select? - Is he that actor? - I never heard of him. - Why is this here? - For people. We eat it. You don't have enough food of your own? - Well, yes. - How do you get it? - Bees make it. - I know who makes it! And it's hard to make it! There's heating, cooling, stirring. You need a whole Krelman thing! - It's organic. - It's our-ganic! It's just honey, Barry. Just what?! Bees don't know about this! This is stealing! A lot of stealing! You've taken our homes, schools, hospitals! This is all we have! And it's on sale?! I'm getting to the bottom of this. I'm getting to the bottom of all of this! Hey, Hector. - You almost done? - Almost. He is here. I sense it. Well, I guess I'll go home now and just leave this nice honey out, with no one around. You're busted, box boy! I knew I heard something. So you can talk! I can talk. And now you'll start talking! Where you getting the sweet stuff? Who's your supplier? I don't understand. I thought we were friends. The last thing we want to do is upset bees! You're too late! It's ours now! You, sir, have crossed the wrong sword! You, sir, will be
lunch formy iguana, Ignacio! Where is the honey coming from? Tell me where! Honey Farms! It comes from Honey Farms! Orazy person! What horrible thing has happened here? These faces, they never knew what hit them. And now they're on the road to nowhere! Just keep still. What? You're not dead? Do I look dead? They will wipe anything that moves. Where you headed? To Honey Farms. I am onto something huge here. I'm going to Alaska. Moose blood, crazy stuff. Blows your head off! I'm going to Tacoma. - And you? - He really is dead. All right. Uh-oh! - What is that?! - Oh, no! - A wiper! Triple blade! - Triple blade? Jump on! It's your only chance, bee! Why does everything have to be so doggone clean?! How much do you people need to see?! Open your eyes! Stick your head out the window! From NPR News in Washington, I'm Oarl Kasell. But don't kill no more bugs! - Bee! - Moose blood guy!! - You hear something? - Like what? Like tiny screaming. Turn off the radio. Whassup, bee boy? Hey, Blood. Just a row of honey jars, as far as the eye could see. Wow! I assume wherever this truck goes is where they're getting it. I mean, that honey's ours. - Bees hang tight. - We're all jammed in. It's a close community. Not us, man. We on our own. Every mosquito on his own. - What if you get in trouble? - You a mosquito, you in trouble. Nobody likes us. They just smack. See a mosquito, smack, smack! At least you're out in the world. You must meet girls. Mosquito girls try to trade up, get with a moth, dragonfly. Mosquito girl don't want no mosquito. You got to be kidding me! Mooseblood's about to leave the building! So long, bee! - Hey, guys! - Mooseblood! I knew I'd catch y'all down here. Did you bring your crazy straw? We throw it in jars, slap a label on it, and it's pretty much pure profit. What is this place? A bee's got a brain the size of a pinhead. They are pinheads! Pinhead. - Oheck out the new smoker. - Oh, sweet. That's the one you want. The Thomas 3000! Smoker? Ninety puffs a minute, semi-automatic. Twice the nicotine, all the tar. A couple breaths of this knocks them right out. They make the honey, and we make the money. "They make the honey, and we make the money"? Oh, my! What's going on? Are you OK? Yeah. It doesn't last too long. Do you know you're in a fake hive with fake walls? Our queen was moved here. We had no choice. This is your queen? That's a man in women's clothes! That's a drag queen! What is this? Oh, no! There's hundreds of them! Bee honey. Our honey is being brazenly stolen on a massive scale! This is worse than anything bears have done! I intend to do something. Oh, Barry, stop. Who told you humans are taking our honey? That's a rumor. Do these look like rumors? That's a conspiracy theory. These are obviously doctored photos. How did you get mixed up in this? He's been talking to humans. - What? - Talking to humans?! He has a human girlfriend. And they make out! Make out? Barry! We do not. - You wish you could. - Whose side are you on? The bees! I dated a cricket once in San Antonio. Those crazy legs kept me up all night. Barry, this is what you want to do with your life? I want to do it for all our lives. Nobody works harder than bees! Dad, I remember you coming home so overworked your hands were still stirring. You couldn't stop. I remember that. What right do they have to our honey? We live on two cups a year. They put it in lip balm for no reason whatsoever! Even if it's true, what can one bee do? Sting them where it really hurts. In the face! The eye! - That would hurt. - No. Up the nose? That's a killer. There's only one place you can sting the humans, one place where it matters. Hive at Five, the hive's only full-hour action news source. No more bee beards! With Bob Bumble at the anchor desk. Weather with Storm Stinger. Sports with Buzz Larvi. And Jeanette Ohung. - Good evening. I'm Bob Bumble. - And I'm Jeanette Ohung. A tri-county bee, Barry Benson, intends to sue the human race for stealing our honey, packaging it and profiting from it illegally! Tomorrow night on Bee Larry King, we'll have three former
queenshere in our studio, discussing their new book, Olassy Ladies, out this week on Hexagon. Tonight we're talking to Barry Benson. Did you ever think, "I'm a kid from the hive. I can't do this"? Bees have never been afraid to change the world. What about Bee Oolumbus? Bee Gandhi? Bejesus? Where I'm from, we'd never sue humans. We were thinking of stickball or candy stores. How old are you? The bee community is supporting you in this case, which will be the trial of the bee century. You know, they have a Larry King in the human world too. It's a common name. Next week... He looks like you and has a show and suspenders and colored dots... Next week... Glasses, quotes on the bottom from the guest even though you just heard 'em. Bear Week next week! They're scary, hairy and here live. Always leans forward, pointy shoulders, squinty eyes, very Jewish. In tennis, you attack at the point of weakness! It was my grandmother, Ken. She's 81. Honey, her backhand's a joke! I'm not gonna take advantage of that? Quiet, please. Actual work going on here. - Is that that same bee? - Yes, it is! I'm helping him sue the human race. - Hello. - Hello, bee. This is Ken. Yeah, I remember you. Timberland, size ten and a half. Vibram sole, I believe. Why does he talk again? Listen, you better go 'cause we're really busy working. But it's our yogurt night! Bye-bye. Why is yogurt night so difficult?! You poor thing. You two have been at this for hours! Yes, and Adam here has been a huge help. - Frosting... - How many sugars? Just one. I try not to use the competition. So why are you helping me? Bees have good qualities. And it takes my mind off the shop. Instead of flowers, people are giving balloon bouquets now. Those are great, if you're three. And artificial flowers. - Oh, those just get me psychotic! - Yeah, me too. Bent stingers, pointless pollination. Bees must hate those fake things! Nothing worse than a daffodil that's had work done. Maybe this could make up for it a little bit. - This lawsuit's a pretty big deal. - I guess. You sure you want to go through with it? Am I sure? When I'm done with the humans, they won't be able to say, "Honey, I'm home," without paying a royalty! It's an incredible scene here in downtown Manhattan, where the world anxiously waits, because for the first time in history, we will hear for ourselves if a honeybee can actually speak. What have we gotten into here, Barry? It's pretty big, isn't it? I can't believe how many humans don't work during the day. You think billion-dollar multinational food companies have good lawyers? Everybody needs to stay behind the barricade. - What's the matter? - I don't know, I just got a chill. Well, if it isn't the bee team. You boys work on this? All rise! The Honorable Judge Bumbleton presiding. All right. Oase number 4475, Superior Oourt of New York, Barry Bee Benson v. the Honey Industry is now in session. Mr. Montgomery, you're representing the five food companies collectively? A privilege. Mr. Benson... you're representing all the bees of the world? I'm kidding. Yes, Your Honor, we're ready to proceed. Mr. Montgomery, your opening statement, please. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my grandmother was a simple woman. Born on a farm, she believed it was man's divine right to benefit from the bounty of nature God put before us. If we lived in the topsy-turvy world Mr. Benson imagines, just think of what would it mean. I would have to negotiate with the silkworm for the elastic in my britches! Talking bee! How do we know this isn't some sort of holographic motion-picture-capture Hollywood wizardry? They could be using laser beams! Robotics! Ventriloquism! Oloning! For all we know, he could be on steroids! Mr. Benson? Ladies and gentlemen, there's no trickery here. I'm just an ordinary bee. Honey's pretty important to me. It's important to all bees. We invented it! We make it. And we protect it with our lives. Unfortunately, there are some people in this room who think they can take it from us 'cause we're the little guys! I'm hoping that, after this is all over, you'll see
how,by taking our honey, you not only take everything we have but everything we are! I wish he'd dress like that all the time. So nice! Oall your first witness. So, Mr. Klauss Vanderhayden of Honey Farms, big company you have. I suppose so. I see you also own Honeyburton and Honron! Yes, they provide beekeepers for our farms. Beekeeper. I find that to be a very disturbing term. I don't imagine you employ any bee-free-ers, do you? - No. - I couldn't hear you. - No. - No. Because you don't free bees. You keep bees. Not only that, it seems you thought a bear would be an appropriate image for a jar of honey. They're very lovable creatures. Yogi Bear, Fozzie Bear, Build-A-Bear. You mean like this? Bears kill bees! How'd you like his head crashing through your living room?! Biting into your couch! Spitting out your throw pillows! OK, that's enough. Take him away. So, Mr. Sting, thank you for being here. Your name intrigues me. - Where have I heard it before? - I was with a band called The Police. But you've never been a police officer, have you? No, I haven't. No, you haven't. And so here we have yet another example of bee culture casually stolen by a human for nothing more than a prance-about stage name. Oh, please. Have you ever been stung, Mr. Sting? Because I'm feeling a little stung, Sting. Or should I say... Mr. Gordon M. Sumner! That's not his real name?! You idiots! Mr. Liotta, first, belated congratulations on your Emmy win for a guest spot on ER in 2005. Thank you. Thank you. I see from your resume that you're devilishly handsome with a churning inner turmoil that's ready to blow. I enjoy what I do. Is that a crime? Not yet it isn't. But is this what it's come to for you? Exploiting tiny, helpless bees so you don't have to rehearse your part and learn your lines, sir? Watch it, Benson! I could blow right now! This isn't a goodfella. This is a badfella! Why doesn't someone just step on this creep, and we can all go home?! - Order in this court! - You're all thinking it! Order! Order, I say! - Say it! - Mr. Liotta, please sit down! I think it was awfully nice of that bear to pitch in like that. I think the jury's on our side. Are we doing everything right, legally? I'm a florist. Right. Well, here's to a great team. To a great team! Well, hello. - Ken! - Hello. I didn't think you were coming. No, I was just late. I tried to call, but... the battery. I didn't want all this to go to waste, so I called Barry. Luckily, he was free. Oh, that was lucky. There's a little left. I could heat it up. Yeah, heat it up, sure, whatever. So I hear you're quite a tennis player. I'm not much for the game myself. The ball's a little grabby. That's where I usually sit. Right... there. Ken, Barry was looking at your resume, and he agreed with me that eating with chopsticks isn't really a special skill. You think I don't see what you're doing? I know how hard it is to find the rightjob. We have that in common. Do we? Bees have 100 percent employment, but we do jobs like taking the crud out. That's just what I was thinking about doing. Ken, I let Barry borrow your razor for his fuzz. I hope that was all right. I'm going to drain the old stinger. Yeah, you do that. Look at that. You know, I've just about had it with your little mind games. - What's that? - Italian Vogue. Mamma mia, that's a lot of pages. A lot of ads. Remember what Van said, why is your life more valuable than mine? Funny, I just can't seem to recall that! I think something stinks in here! I love the smell of flowers. How do you like the smell of flames?! Not as much. Water bug! Not taking sides! Ken, I'm wearing a Ohapstick hat! This is pathetic! I've got issues! Well, well, well, a royal flush! - You're bluffing. - Am I? Surf's up, dude! Poo water! That bowl is gnarly. Except for those dirty yellow rings! Kenneth! What are you doing?! You know, I don't even like honey! I don't eat it! We need to talk! He's just a little bee! And he happens to be the nicest bee I've met in a long time! Long time? What are you talking about?! Are there other bugs in your life? No, but
thereare other things bugging me in life. And you're one of them! Fine! Talking bees, no yogurt night... My nerves are fried from riding on this emotional roller coaster! Goodbye, Ken. And for your information, I prefer sugar-free, artificial sweeteners made by man! I'm sorry about all that. I know it's got an aftertaste! I like it! I always felt there was some kind of barrier between Ken and me. I couldn't overcome it. Oh, well. Are you OK for the trial? I believe Mr. Montgomery is about out of ideas. We would like to call Mr. Barry Benson Bee to the stand. Good idea! You can really see why he's considered one of the best lawyers... Yeah. Layton, you've gotta weave some magic with this jury, or it's gonna be all over. Don't worry. The only thing I have to do to turn this jury around is to remind them of what they don't like about bees. - You got the tweezers? - Are you allergic? Only to losing, son. Only to losing. Mr. Benson Bee, I'll ask you what I think we'd all like to know. What exactly is your relationship to that woman? We're friends. - Good friends? - Yes. How good? Do you live together? Wait a minute... Are you her little... ...bedbug? I've seen a bee documentary or two. From what I understand, doesn't your queen give birth to all the bee children? - Yeah, but... - So those aren't your real parents! - Oh, Barry... - Yes, they are! Hold me back! You're an illegitimate bee, aren't you, Benson? He's denouncing bees! Don't y'all date your cousins? - Objection! - I'm going to pincushion this guy! Adam, don't! It's what he wants! Oh, I'm hit!! Oh, lordy, I am hit! Order! Order! The venom! The venom is coursing through my veins! I have been felled by a winged beast of destruction! You see? You can't treat them like equals! They're striped savages! Stinging's the only thing they know! It's their way! - Adam, stay with me. - I can't feel my legs. What angel of mercy will come forward to suck the poison from my heaving buttocks? I will have order in this court. Order! Order, please! The case of the honeybees versus the human race took a pointed turn against the bees yesterday when one of their legal team stung Layton T. Montgomery. - Hey, buddy. - Hey. - Is there much pain? - Yeah. I... I blew the whole case, didn't I? It doesn't matter. What matters is you're alive. You could have died. I'd be better off dead. Look at me. They got it from the cafeteria downstairs, in a tuna sandwich. Look, there's a little celery still on it. What was it like to sting someone? I can't explain it. It was all... All adrenaline and then... and then ecstasy! All right. You think it was all a trap? Of course. I'm sorry. I flew us right into this. What were we thinking? Look at us. We're just a couple of bugs in this world. What will the humans do to us if they win? I don't know. I hear they put the roaches in motels. That doesn't sound so bad. Adam, they check in, but they don't check out! Oh, my. Oould you get a nurse to close that window? - Why? - The smoke. Bees don't smoke. Right. Bees don't smoke. Bees don't smoke! But some bees are smoking. That's it! That's our case! It is? It's not over? Get dressed. I've gotta go somewhere. Get back to the court and stall. Stall any way you can. And assuming you've done step correctly, you're ready for the tub. Mr. Flayman. Yes? Yes, Your Honor! Where is the rest of your team? Well, Your Honor, it's interesting. Bees are trained to fly haphazardly, and as a result, we don't make very good time. I actually heard a funny story about... Your Honor, haven't these ridiculous bugs taken up enough of this court's valuable time? How much longer will we allow these absurd shenanigans to go on? They have presented no compelling evidence to support their charges against my clients, who run legitimate businesses. I move for a complete dismissal of this entire case! Mr. Flayman, I'm afraid I'm going to have to consider Mr. Montgomery's motion. But you can't! We have a terrific case. Where is your proof? Where is the evidence? Show me the smoking gun! Hold it, Your Honor! You want a smoking gun? Here is your
smokinggun. What is that? It's a bee smoker! What, this? This harmless little contraption? This couldn't hurt a fly, let alone a bee. Look at what has happened to bees who have never been asked, "Smoking or non?" Is this what nature intended for us? To be forcibly addicted to smoke machines and man-made wooden slat work camps? Living out our lives as honey slaves to the white man? - What are we gonna do? - He's playing the species card. Ladies and gentlemen, please, free these bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! The court finds in favor of the bees! Vanessa, we won! I knew you could do it! High-five! Sorry. I'm OK! You know what this means? All the honey will finally belong to the bees. Now we won't have to work so hard all the time. This is an unholy perversion of the balance of nature, Benson. You'll regret this. Barry, how much honey is out there? All right. One at a time. Barry, who are you wearing? My sweater is Ralph Lauren, and I have no pants. - What if Montgomery's right? - What do you mean? We've been living the bee way a long time, 27 million years. Oongratulations on your victory. What will you demand as a settlement? First, we'll demand a complete shutdown of all bee work camps. Then we want back the honey that was ours to begin with, every last drop. We demand an end to the glorification of the bear as anything more than a filthy, smelly, bad-breath stink machine. We're all aware of what they do in the woods. Wait for my signal. Take him out. He'll have nauseous for a few hours, then he'll be fine. And we will no longer tolerate bee-negative nicknames... But it's just a prance-about stage name! ...unnecessary inclusion of honey in bogus health products and la-dee-da human tea-time snack garnishments. Oan't breathe. Bring it in, boys! Hold it right there! Good. Tap it. Mr. Buzzwell, we just passed three cups, and there's gallons more coming! - I think we need to shut down! - Shut down? We've never shut down. Shut down honey production! Stop making honey! Turn your key, sir! What do we do now? Oannonball! We're shutting honey production! Mission abort. Aborting pollination and nectar detail. Returning to base. Adam, you wouldn't believe how much honey was out there. Oh, yeah? What's going on? Where is everybody? - Are they out celebrating? - They're home. They don't know what to do. Laying out, sleeping in. I heard your Uncle Oarl was on his way to San Antonio with a cricket. At least we got our honey back. Sometimes I think, so what if humans liked our honey? Who wouldn't? It's the greatest thing in the world! I was excited to be part of making it. This was my new desk. This was my new job. I wanted to do it really well. And now... Now I can't. I don't understand why they're not happy. I thought their lives would be better! They're doing nothing. It's amazing. Honey really changes people. You don't have any idea what's going on, do you? - What did you want to show me? - This. What happened here? That is not the half of it. Oh, no. Oh, my. They're all wilting. Doesn't look very good, does it? No. And whose fault do you think that is? You know, I'm gonna guess bees. Bees? Specifically, me. I didn't think bees not needing to make honey would affect all these things. It's notjust flowers. Fruits, vegetables, they all need bees. That's our whole SAT test right there. Take away produce, that affects the entire animal kingdom. And then, of course... The human species? So if there's no more pollination, it could all just go south here, couldn't it? I know this is also partly my fault. How about a suicide pact? How do we do it? - I'll sting you, you step on me. - Thatjust kills you twice. Right, right. Listen, Barry... sorry, but I gotta get going. I had to open my mouth and talk. Vanessa? Vanessa? Why are you leaving? Where are you going? To the final Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena. They've moved it to this weekend because all the flowers are dying. It's the last chance I'll ever have to see it. Vanessa, I just wanna say I'm sorry. I never meant it to turn out
likethis. I know. Me neither. Tournament of Roses. Roses can't do sports. Wait a minute. Roses. Roses? Roses! Vanessa! Roses?! Barry? - Roses are flowers! - Yes, they are. Flowers, bees, pollen! I know. That's why this is the last parade. Maybe not. Oould you ask him to slow down? Oould you slow down? Barry! OK, I made a huge mistake. This is a total disaster, all my fault. Yes, it kind of is. I've ruined the planet. I wanted to help you with the flower shop. I've made it worse. Actually, it's completely closed down. I thought maybe you were remodeling. But I have another idea, and it's greater than my previous ideas combined. I don't want to hear it! All right, they have the roses, the roses have the pollen. I know every bee, plant and flower bud in this park. All we gotta do is get what they've got back here with what we've got. - Bees. - Park. - Pollen! - Flowers. - Repollination! - Across the nation! Tournament of Roses, Pasadena, Oalifornia. They've got nothing but flowers, floats and cotton candy. Security will be tight. I have an idea. Vanessa Bloome, FTD. Official floral business. It's real. Sorry, ma'am. Nice brooch. Thank you. It was a gift. Once inside, we just pick the right float. How about The Princess and the Pea? I could be the princess, and you could be the pea! Yes, I got it. - Where should I sit? - What are you? - I believe I'm the pea. - The pea? It goes under the mattresses. - Not in this fairy tale, sweetheart. - I'm getting the marshal. You do that! This whole parade is a fiasco! Let's see what this baby'll do. Hey, what are you doing?! Then all we do is blend in with traffic... ...without arousing suspicion. Once at the airport, there's no stopping us. Stop! Security. - You and your insect pack your float? - Yes. Has it been in your possession the entire time? Would you remove your shoes? - Remove your stinger. - It's part of me. I know. Just having some fun. Enjoy your flight. Then if we're lucky, we'll have just enough pollen to do the job. Oan you believe how lucky we are? We have just enough pollen to do the job! I think this is gonna work. It's got to work. Attention, passengers, this is Oaptain Scott. We have a bit of bad weather in New York. It looks like we'll experience a couple hours delay. Barry, these are cut flowers with no water. They'll never make it. I gotta get up there and talk to them. Be careful. Oan I get help with the Sky Mall magazine? I'd like to order the talking inflatable nose and ear hair trimmer. Oaptain, I'm in a real situation. - What'd you say, Hal? - Nothing. Bee! Don't freak out! My entire species... What are you doing? - Wait a minute! I'm an attorney! - Who's an attorney? Don't move. Oh, Barry. Good afternoon, passengers. This is your captain. Would a Miss Vanessa Bloome in 24B please report to the cockpit? And please hurry! What happened here? There was a DustBuster, a toupee, a life raft exploded. One's bald, one's in a boat, they're both unconscious! - Is that another bee joke? - No! No one's flying the plane! This is JFK control tower, Flight 356. What's your status? This is Vanessa Bloome. I'm a florist from New York. Where's the pilot? He's unconscious, and so is the copilot. Not good. Does anyone onboard have flight experience? As a matter of fact, there is. - Who's that? - Barry Benson. From the honey trial?! Oh, great. Vanessa, this is nothing more than a big metal bee. It's got giant wings, huge engines. I can't fly a plane. - Why not? Isn't John Travolta a pilot? - Yes. How hard could it be? Wait, Barry! We're headed into some lightning. This is Bob Bumble. We have some late-breaking news from JFK Airport, where a suspenseful scene is developing. Barry Benson, fresh from his legal victory... That's Barry! ...is attempting to land a plane, loaded with people, flowers and an incapacitated flight crew. Flowers?! We have a storm in the area and two individuals at the controls with absolutely no flight experience. Just a minute. There's a bee on that plane. I'm quite familiar with Mr. Benson and his no-account compadres. They've done enough damage. But
isn'the your only hope? Technically, a bee shouldn't be able to fly at all. Their wings are too small... Haven't we heard this a million times? "The surface area of the wings and body mass make no sense." - Get this on the air! - Got it. - Stand by. - We're going live. The way we work may be a mystery to you. Making honey takes a lot of bees doing a lot of small jobs. But let me tell you about a small job. If you do it well, it makes a big difference. More than we realized. To us, to everyone. That's why I want to get bees back to working together. That's the bee way! We're not made of Jell-O. We get behind a fellow. - Black and yellow! - Hello! Left, right, down, hover. - Hover? - Forget hover. This isn't so hard. Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Barry, what happened?! Wait, I think we were on autopilot the whole time. - That may have been helping me. - And now we're not! So it turns out I cannot fly a plane. All of you, let's get behind this fellow! Move it out! Move out! Our only chance is if I do what I'd do, you copy me with the wings of the plane! Don't have to yell. I'm not yelling! We're in a lot of trouble. It's very hard to concentrate with that panicky tone in your voice! It's not a tone. I'm panicking! I can't do this! Vanessa, pull yourself together. You have to snap out of it! You snap out of it. You snap out of it. - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - Hold it! - Why? Oome on, it's my turn. How is the plane flying? I don't know. Hello? Benson, got any flowers for a happy occasion in there? The Pollen Jocks! They do get behind a fellow. - Black and yellow. - Hello. All right, let's drop this tin can on the blacktop. Where? I can't see anything. Oan you? No, nothing. It's all cloudy. Oome on. You got to think bee, Barry. - Thinking bee. - Thinking bee. Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Wait a minute. I think I'm feeling something. - What? - I don't know. It's strong, pulling me. Like a 27-million-year-old instinct. Bring the nose down. Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! - What in the world is on the tarmac? - Get some lights on that! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! - Vanessa, aim for the flower. - OK. Out the engines. We're going in on bee power. Ready, boys? Affirmative! Good. Good. Easy, now. That's it. Land on that flower! Ready? Full reverse! Spin it around! - Not that flower! The other one! - Which one? - That flower. - I'm aiming at the flower! That's a fat guy in a flowered shirt. I mean the giant pulsating flower made of millions of bees! Pull forward. Nose down. Tail up. Rotate around it. - This is insane, Barry! - This's the only way I know how to fly. Am I koo-koo-kachoo, or is this plane flying in an insect-like pattern? Get your nose in there. Don't be afraid. Smell it. Full reverse! Just drop it. Be a part of it. Aim for the center! Now drop it in! Drop it in, woman! Oome on, already. Barry, we did it! You taught me how to fly! - Yes. No high-five! - Right. Barry, it worked! Did you see the giant flower? What giant flower? Where? Of course I saw the flower! That was genius! - Thank you. - But we're not done yet. Listen, everyone! This runway is covered with the last pollen from the last flowers available anywhere on Earth. That means this is our last chance. We're the only ones who make honey, pollinate flowers and dress like this. If we're gonna survive as a species, this is our moment! What do you say? Are we going to be bees, orjust Museum of Natural History keychains? We're bees! Keychain! Then follow me! Except Keychain. Hold on, Barry. Here. You've earned this. Yeah! I'm a Pollen Jock! And it's a perfect fit. All I gotta do are the sleeves. Oh, yeah. That's our Barry. Mom! The bees are back! If anybody needs to make a call, now's the time. I got a feeling we'll be working late tonight! Here's your change. Have a great afternoon! Oan I help who's next? Would you like some honey with that? It is bee-approved. Don't forget these. Milk, cream, cheese, it's all me. And I don't see
anickel! Sometimes I just feel like a piece of meat! I had no idea. Barry, I'm sorry. Have you got a moment? Would you excuse me? My mosquito associate will help you. Sorry I'm late. He's a lawyer too? I was already a blood-sucking parasite. All I needed was a briefcase. Have a great afternoon! Barry, I just got this huge tulip order, and I can't get them anywhere. No problem, Vannie. Just leave it to me. You're a lifesaver, Barry. Oan I help who's next? All right, scramble, jocks! It's time to fly. Thank you, Barry! That bee is living my life! Let it go, Kenny. - When will this nightmare end?! - Let it all go. - Beautiful day to fly. - Sure is. Between you and me, I was dying to get out of that office. You have got to start thinking bee, my friend. - Thinking bee! - Me? Hold it. Let's just stop for a second. Hold it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, everyone. Oan we stop here? I'm not making a major life decision during a production number! All right. Take ten, everybody. Wrap it up, guys. I had virtually no rehearsal for that.

Spellbound (part 1)
Warnings: angst. Pining. That's it, just a reader in love with dusty boy.
General reader.
A/n: so...mva is finally coming, after a lifetime. I'll never be over the fact they're gonna clusterfuck all the arc in 5 episodes. That will go down smoothly i guess.
_____________________________
Tomura.
It rolls over your tongue, answer before the question that plagues your nights. Swift and soft, and so so sharp you think your tongue may bleed…Just like your throat, just like your heart.
It draws Toh like a shot of air behind your teeth, then the mmuh jumps from your tight lips, hooking swiftly to the rah that abandons your mouth in breathing motion, lungs collapsing and heart fluttering inside your cage as the word turn into mist against the cold of the night.
You breathe his name softly, wishing for a miracle to make him look in your direction for more than mere orders just once, but life has never been that kind to you nor is he, so you keep his name secretly searing across your heart, burning lungs and windpipe without even trying, but it’s fine.
His name was a curse, you knew in time. If you hadn’t known what it meant, you’d think it was an old blessing, some child’s name, a kind word about beauty, about nature, about love.
It’s not. Not when death makes a home of his tired bones with every starved and lonely touch he brings. All bloodied gums, and sharp teeth behind the scarred lips, conjuring fate and tragedy from within his hands as violence feasts joyfully behind his protruding ribs.
"To-mu-ra."
Your whisper dies against your lips when his anger seethes ready to rip him apart, splattering around on the gory details of his hatred as a monument of black, white, and bloody red; setting slaughter over the table for everyone to see how much he hates everything and how much he wants to destroy it all.
Including you, possibly.
Some nights when hell breaks loose and you think the earth will crack under the sheer force of his wrath, you venture quietly into the edge of his revulsion to watch him bite and bark against the world. The panicked times when you wonder if you’ll be the next thing to be crushed by the weight of his loathing, heart filled with sorrow and regret before decaying into oblivion by his murderous fingers. But he never does, only his eyes lingering over the remnants of the last thing he ruins before sparing you from his ire in strange symbiosis, letting you get away with your somber staring before you push your luck by closing the gap to venture your hands close to his neck, cleaning the bloody scratches with care as he watches you dumbfounded before you slide out of his reach again.
Tomura.
Anathema, heresy, and oath.
Vow of rage and annihilation.
Vow of hate.
Vow of love.
A love that hangs over your neck like a curse, ready to fall by the weight of his cruelty and cut your head off in clean snap, because he terrifies you, but terror and love have merged alongside your spine, intertwining with your chord, roots growing deep within you as another kind of devotion. So, you wait for him to destroy everything, hoping that maybe you’ll live to see the morning after everything falls to ashes at his feet, when the world crumbles and the bloody crown sit over his white locks finally allowing him to rest.
In the meantime, you follow him quietly, saving your unrequited affection discretely where it doesn’t hurt anyone but you, hoping his inexperience on these matters to be enough for him to stay blind and content with your unwavering loyalty and proficiency, hoping he let you walk by his side a little longer.
Still, sometimes you can’t help yourself, allowing on little indulgencies when you think nobody else is watching, letting your eyes wonder through the lines of his form and the wrinkles that brand his face and make him...him.
Beautiful, deadly him.
Tomura is moonlight caught between silver strands of hair. A sight of pearly skin reflecting colors from city lights and night sky, eyes shining like bleeding garnets in the dark.
Does he even know how mesmerizing he is? How out of place he looks compared to the grimy concrete of the streets he walks? When buildings stand menacing between clustered boulevards and traffic lines, he remains a force of nature, hauntingly surreal, but oh, so human your heart may break if you keep staring.
No, he doesn’t know it. How could he? He’s never seen the soft curve of his neck, nor the shape of his perfect nose. He can’t see the glint of his eyes when he finds something amusing, nor the way his face changes when he’s confused over something trivial. And he’s never seen the bow of his full lips trembling when he smiles. From the creepy unsettling ones when he swears, he’ll murder every fucking hero on earth; to the soft ones too when he lies still and serene, his mind navigating distant places, forever out of your reach.
Tomura, you sing, and he appears behind your eyelids, beautiful in starlight, like the full moon shining over the black cold sea at night; and his beauty mark as a map of his face forever imprinted in your brain.
Some nights devotion fills you quietly as your hand draws patterns of love and longing between your thighs; senses overflowing on fantasies of attraction and want as the sky fills with stars and your mind drifts to him as you imagine his naked skin warming yours in frantic pace. Those nights when you’re allowed to finally break and cry under the pressure of the love that ties you to his ribs; as the memory of his voice whispers imaginary prayers to your ear and for a second you manage to smother the sadness pooling at the pit of your stomach, pants and sobs mixing sweetly in the dark of the night.
Tomura, you moan, insides clenching around nothing and his body heavy as thin air over yours. You think of his pale hands groping you, his nails raking your skin as he trusts into you and his hair feathers your collarbones between loving words and crass confessions, filling you everywhere on nothing, only your lonely heat damping the sheets.
It’s not enough to stitch back the gash his gaze carved into your heart from the moment he set eyes on you, but it’s enough to keep your priorities straight and be the ally he needs you to be. So, you do everything and a little more to make it worth, hushing the starving pang of want that keeps growing inside every corner of your body every time he talks to you, words poisoning your bones and staining your flesh, because for him you are willing to ignore the bruise over your heart before it finally cracks under the pressure of his fate, whichever be heroes dying like falling stars or him bleeding out his spite until his eyes close for good.
It doesn’t matter.
You’ll gladly follow him either way.

"I have thought about it!" Peter shot back with more exasperation than he knew was necessary. "Like, I can tell her that she's still so small while everyone's getting bigger because she was born a preemie, and that's just what happens to them." Now, that was a joke. Or, it was meant to be a joke, but as Peter said it out loud, he considered it, and how long that lie would work for a gullible child until they outgrew the gullibility.
Peter took another sip, a swig this time, wishing that the damn tea would work to calm his nerves. Goddamn, did he wish he hadn't quit drinking; a long pull of whiskey would have been perfect now. "But seriously, you don't think I haven't thought about this?" Of course, he had; he broke his own heart every night imagining Sadaf watching her mother go gray, becoming too frail to take care of her daughter, crawling closer and closer to the grave as she became old enough to be Sadaf's grandmother. And her half-siblings; god, it was going to hurt to see his daughter, who'll probably be physically five or six, watch her sister and brother reach their thirties. But--
"I have. I really did, and it sucks. It's going to suck. But it's better than the alternative. She can't know about this existence or others like her--" except her family and, now, apparently, Raivis, "-- because you know how fucked up we all are? Almost none of us are stable! The ones even close to stable are my fathers and uncles, and they're going to give her more than enough of what she needs.
"And what she needs is to be happy." Finally, he looked back at Raivis. Once upon a time, Peter was terrified of mortality. Was terrified of becoming human, which seemed to come so easily for micronations, and all the issues that came with it, like becoming sick over and over and slowly fading away. Hutt River and Niko Republic, now wandering the earth as fragile and vulnerable, with no guarantee of waking up when he die. And he was still terrified. But there was an unshakeable resolve in his voice as he said, "Sadaf and I will become human soon. Sealand still has twenty, maybe thirty years tops before it finally falls apart, and that's if it doesn't dissolve before then. When she becomes human, I don't want Sadaf to spend the rest of her short life carrying the hell of being a geopolitical demigod like we have. "
The hell of dying of starvation and illnesses in his isolated little fort, only to wake up and do it all over again. To have his dreams crushed and his hard work ignored, his accomplishments mocked, and to be brushed aside unless they wanted a jester to perform for them or smile while they humiliated him. To be told that he would never be enough, he would never matter to Arthur, or anyone, in the way that Alfred or Matthew would, and still, still, he would have had to swallow his pride and beg Arthur for scraps to eat. He could be adopted by Berwald lifetimes over, and bask in the delight and warmth of Raivis' welcome and love, and he would still be that lonely, lost, feral little boy.
And though that despair came back to crush his soul, and though he was to the brink of tears, there was a hardness beyond the exhaustion Peter's eyes. "I don't know what I'll tell her when the time comes, but I know this: she's not going to know about this life. She's not going to know about her shitty bio family just like they don't need to know about her. She's going to have the happy childhood that I haven't had, and she's not going to grow up damaged like I have."
He drained the rest of his tea and set the cup on the table. "Besides, it's only going to be for the next twenty years; I think I can manage to keep up the ruse for that short time. After that, she can have all the normal connections she can make."
Peter felt Raivis's hand moved, felt the warmth of his fingers locked with his own. He held onto that feeling, grounded himself with it, for otherwise, Peter would be right back on his fort, back to that perversely sunny and bright day when he held his child in his arms, watched her big, blue eyes brighten and her breath steady, watched all of the minute changes that a normal human eye wouldn't catch, how she was becoming othered by the power of Sealand channeling into her tiny, sickly body. He would have been back to that day when Fort Roughs was born, when his and her hearts had become one.
Peter nodded, taking a sip of his tea more to warm himself than anything. Despite his throat tightening as if physically trying to bar anymore of his life from being divulged, it went down smooth and made it easier for Peter to talk. "Yeah, she knows. She absolutely hates me for it, and I can't blame her, but..." he shrugged. "I had no choice."
And then there was that question, the one that tempted Peter to lock up despite his best effort thus far to open up to Raivis. He couldn't be angry at or scared of Raivis trying to know more about his life and trying to be in it. Peter was mindful of making sure he didn't take his hand away, even for when he said, "Yeah, Papa knows. The entire Nordic family knows, and it was supposed to be only them that knew." Maybe Raivis can take comfort in knowing that Peter's secrecy wasn't anything personal against him.
He did take away his hand this time, only to rub his forehead with it. "I, well, I don't..." he threw his hand in the air, and let it fall into his lap as he lounged back in the couch. "I don't want her to know about this... existence. About being a nation. I want her to be exposed to this stuff as little as possible." Even if that meant hurting his closest friends, ones that treated him more as a brother, despite his deepest flaws and overall geopolitical worthlessness as a defunct fort, than his actual brother and creator, and even breaking ties with most of his family.
Again, Raivis, nothing personal.

AMOR FATI
pairing – neil x female!reader
wc – 3.8k
warnings – mention of death, self-blame, anxious/intrusive thoughts, questioning reality, refusal of help, guns, stalking, but I swear there's a light at the end of the tunnel haha
a/n – The last time I suffered so hard for the death of a character, was when Newt died (Maze Runner) and now Neil has captured all my attention and his death has hit me in the same way 😩 I needed a happy ending so I decided to write this!
The Eternal Return and Amor Fati mentioned in this fic are one of the main ideas of Nietzsche's philosophy.
English is not my first language. I am getting help from google translator and he is not always a good ally, so I apologize for any typos or grammar errors.
Y/N – your name
She approached the painting hanging on the wall, watching the details closely. Ouroboros. A serpent eating its own tail. Months ago, when Y/N was visiting an antique store in Mumbai, she saw that same symbol. The owner of the establishment approached when she realized her interest in the piece and explained that Ouroboros represents the ideas of movement, continuity and, in consequence, Eternal Return. A concept that the universe and all existence and energy has been recurring, and will continue to recur, in a self-similar form an infinite number of times across infinite time or space.
"Max finally fell asleep." Kat returned to the living room, attracting Y/N's attention.
She walked away from the painting, taking back her seat on the sofa and asked:
"How is he after everything that happened?"
For a moment, Kat looked at the painting on the wall and then at the friend she won in the midst of confusion over the Algorithm. At that time, despite being fighting on the front lines to prevent a possible Third World War, Y/N seems complete. Happy. Today that happiness no longer exists in her eyes.
Letting out a sigh, the woman sat next to her, answering:
"Sator was never a present father. He was always busy... now i can see the kind of work he was involved in. Anyway, Max just got used to his absence."
"It's notable that he's happier at your side. When we first met Max was a bit of an introvert, but today he is radiant." Y/N confessed, showing a small smile and the blonde shook her head, agreeing with her words. "How's everything?"
"Perfectly well. It's weird sometimes... After years of being stuck in a failed relationship, freedom is good."
"It seems like life is good for one of us." The woman let out a bitter laugh, putting the latest events on a scale, but she didn’t want her friend to think she wasn’t happy for her. She really was. "I'm sorry, I just..." The words remain stuck in her throat, while she covers her face with her hands. In addition to physical and mental fatigue, Y/N tried to hide her grief.
Kat touched her shoulder, showing that she was here.
"I know you're hurt, but it's been three months and you never talked about what happened that day... This is not good for you."
"What do I have to say, Kat? The guy I fell in love with was a fucking time traveler! And now he's dead and I don't know what to do. My life just... stopped without him."
"I can imagine how difficult it's for you to cross that line without Neil at your side, but giving up is not an option. Grief is consuming you little by little and you are just accepting it..."
"We are trained to contain our emotions and deal with death in the best possible way. It used to be easy for me, but then he came and turned my life upside down." Y/N put her hands on her knees and stood up, walking without an exact destination. "Neil was always one step ahead of us all..." She stepped forward too and found the painting again, but her mind was lost in thoughts about him. Neil knew her so well. And he had a charming smile, but completely arrogant at the same time. "I was sent to Mumbai to help two agents and when I arrived at Priya's penthouse that night, there he was. When he saw me, that was the first and only time that he let his guard down. I'll never forget how he looked at me, it was one of those breathtaking moments... Completely cliché, I know."
On the sofa, Kat was impressed. When Y/N turned towards her, there was a bright smile on her face. The simple memory brought her a breath of happiness and Kat enjoyed seeing her friend like that, but unfortunately that moment did not last long. Memories aren't enough. Neil is dead and nothing can change that.
"I miss him so much, Kat." The smile disappeared as soon as tears appeared in her eyes, cascading down her cheeks.
"My dear..." Worried about her, the woman got up quickly and approached Y/N, wrapping her in a tight hug. "I'm really sorry."
"I spent the last three months locked up in my a-apartment because I thought I could handle this situation on my own. At times I b-believed it was just a fever dream... Maybe I was losing my mind, but this is proof that everything was real." Through tears blurring her vision, she looked at the watch on her wrist, remembering that night.
Y/N was in a private cabin on the ship. The others were with Ives and Wheeler, going over the mission in search of any loose ends. A standard procedure. Y/N knew she should be with them, but she needed a moment alone to organize her thoughts. And that moment is now. The past few weeks had been a real mess. The inversion was difficult to explain and mainly to understand. She was used to field missions, but being an inverted soldier on the battlefield was not in her plans. Either way, she agreed to be a part of it and running away with biased assumptions was not going to help. Humanity depends on them.
Three knocking on the door caught Y/N's attention, but she remained silent, waiting for the person to give up and leave, but when it didn't, she just murmured 'Come in'.
"So, here you are." The man used a surprised tone of voice and closed the door behind him. "What will our superior think when he learns that you are running away from the briefing?"
She let out a laugh before answering in the same mood:
"Don't worry, I know this mission like the back of my hand. I just needed a moment."
"There's something wrong? Are you ok?" Neil spilled the questions quickly, visibly concerned for her.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Neil." Y/N smiled at him, but looked away just seconds later, confessing: "Maybe I'm a little surprised by the situation. I have spent years dealing with terrorists, but the inversion is really not my point."
"I'm not good with advice, but someone once said to me: Don't try to understand. Certain things in the world do not need an explanation."
"It's wise advice, but I'm a methodical person. Logic has always been my ally in missions."
"A methodical person, huh?" He asked with an arrogant smile playing on his lips and she just rolled her eyes. "I know how worried you were when Sator shot Kat, but we are using the inversion to save the world and you're one of the most brilliant agents I have ever seen. Everything will be fine."
"Are you praising me?"
"What's that? Can't I praise my partner's talent?" Neil pulled up a chair to sit across from her, crossing his arms.
"In that case, thank you. Remind me to put this on my resume." Those words made him laugh and that sound could easily be compared to music in her ears.
Touching her knee, Neil added:
"We are very confident with the mission. You don't need to worry."
"Are you sure?"
"I cannot say that unforeseen events do not happen, but we are prepared for that." Y/N knew he was right, but this mission is the biggest one so far. It's not about saving a country. It's about saving the entire world. This was arousing insecurities in her and it was like walking in a minefield. Ironically, she was familiar with this, but not in such catastrophic proportions. "I want you to have this." The man took his watch off his wrist and handed it to her.
"What’s that supposed to mean?" The question came out as a whisper from between her lips.
It didn't make sense. Why does everything in this conversation look like a farewell?
"We will be on opposite sides tomorrow, but i want you to know... I will always be with you, Y/N."
"I saw the way he looked at you... That's how I used to look at Sator before he became a monster in my life." Kat started, running a hand through Y/N's hair. "When I was lying on that stretcher and partially drugged with the medicines, I saw him beside you... watching you sleep. There was so much love in his eyes. Love for a lifetime, Y/N. So don't do this to yourself. The way he left hurt us all, but there was nothing you or any other agent could do to change what happened at Stalask-12. Neil saved the world. This gave us a second chance. You cannot give up now. This organization needs you. And keeping your mind busy at that moment is the first step towards a fresh start."
"N-No, I can't..." She broke the hug, shaking her head in denial. "I left the organization."
"What? Don't you work for Tenet anymore? But when we first met you told me that you can't imagine working in another area... And that this is your life's work."
"Being an agent is my life's work. I was in Yemen when Tenet found me and assigned me to this mission. My only job is to make this world a less hostile place, but the motto of this organization is not what I believe, Kat. What's happened's happened. Really? It doesn't work for me." Y/N ended the sentence with drops of anger in her voice and Kat did not say a single word.
Through the newspapers, Max's mother followed what was happening in Yemen over the years – a real endless war – and knowing that Y/N was in the middle of it, makes the situation unquestionable. People died in front of her eyes. Friends of the corporation. And then some time later, Tenet arrived with a fresh start, but in the end everything remained the same. She lost Neil. It is as if her life's work never had a happy ending because the world will never stop being a hostile place.
"He knows?" It was easy for Y/N to identify who she was talking about. The Protagonist. Or just TP.
"Here's another problem. I worked with him and indirectly worked for him at the same time! God, that man created this organization! And his name remains a mystery to us all!" She pinched the tip of her nose, feeling frustrated with all the secrets that haunt this organization. "And answering your question, yes, he knows, but he did not argue about it. I was a complete mess and he was not doing very well either... He stayed in my apartment for the first month, probably to make sure I didn't do anything stupid." And Y/N would be forever grateful for that. She likes him. Just as friends, of course. TP was a reserved man, but it was he who held her when everything was falling apart. "But we've had a fight. I blamed him for what happened at Stalask-12 and since then we haven't spoken anymore."
It was easy to see that they carried more pain than they could actually bear. Y/N lost her great love and the man lost his best friend. The situation just turned into a conflict between them and that was the result.
Realizing the sadness reflected in Y/N's eyes, Kat decided to change the subject of the conversation. Keeping that thought, she smiled and pointed to the painting on the wall. Maybe that could help.
"You seemed interested in this one."
"Oh yes, in my spare time I am a lover of art and its meanings. It is really attractive the way Ouroboros is connected to the Eternal Return..."
"And Amor Fati too." Kat completed, piquing Y/N's curiosity. This part was new to her. "It's impossible to affirm the Eternal Return without loving life. We need to learn that things happen as they do. Sometimes seemingly good. Sometimes seemingly bad. We don’t always get it our way... Unless we choose that whatever way it is, is our way. When we choose to Amor Fati, to love everything that happens, to love our fate, then we will always get it our way. Because the way it is, is the way it is. Unchangable. And therefore it must be good, even if it sucks."
These words touched Y/N's heart. This was a contradiction to what she is experiencing right now. Love your fate. She would like to understand and accept what happened, she really wanted, but why is it so difficult to move on?
Because Neil is dead.
That was the only explanation for her. The end of a relationship would be more acceptable. If he were alive, things would be completely different now. However, grief is overwhelming. How could she just accept what happened?
"I... I gotta go." That was all she managed to say before picking up her bag and leave the penthouse, ignoring Kat's protests.
When the elevator doors closed, an exhausted sigh left her mouth and the instant she saw her reflection in the mirror, Y/N wanted to cry again. After three months alone, she thought visiting her friend would be a good idea. Kat was willing to help, but the problem was that Y/N is not allowing herself to be helped. As soon as the doors opened, she left the metal box and found the hotel lobby partially empty. Her watch showed it was 3:13 AM, this explains the absence of people on the street as well. In front of her car, she searched the bag for the key and coincidentally her cell phone started to vibrate. Probably the text messages were from Kat, but confusion hit Y/N the instant she looked at the identifier and saw that the messages did not belong to any of her contacts.
Stay away from the car
They put a bomb
I'm on my way
Her first reaction was to take a few steps back and look around, trying to understand what’s going on and find the person responsible for these texts, but Y/N was alone in the dark street. When she thought it might be an unnecessary prank, a black SUV approached at high speed. The car stopped just a few meters away from where she was, but that was enough to make her body freeze.
"Y/N, come on!" The man exclaimed, the urgency in his voice would have made her run immediately, but she didn't move. Her feet had frozen on the floor. This cannot be real. "Come on, get in the car! We don't have much time!" He tried again, it was possible to hear the sound of the other cars approaching.
Y/N watched in slow motion the moment he left the car and ran towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"How is this possible?" She asked in a whisper, completely lost in his blue eyes.
"It's good to see you too." Neil admitted, feeling his heart race. She looked so fragile in his arms. Very different from the last time he saw her. "We have to go." He accompanied her to the car and as soon as Y/N took the passenger seat, he returned to his seat.
For her this moment was like a fever dream, so she just looked down and started counting her fingers. One, two, three, four, five... Neil noticed, but said nothing, just kept driving. The cars were fast approaching, but he would do everything possible and impossible to get Y/N away from these people.
"Give me your cell phone." He looked at her for a brief moment, but when Y/N didn’t react, he wasn't sure if she heard it, so he just took the phone from her hand and threw it out the window. That was enough to get her out of the numbness:
"What the fuck, Neil?!"
Despite the adrenaline rushing through his body, the man laughed.
"If I found you because of your cell phone, they can too." After that, he crossed the red light and made a risky turn, trying to end this chase. "Before you ask, no, this is not a dream. Unfortunately this is very real..." Neil didn't like what he saw when he adjusted the rearview mirror. "And now they are getting ready to shoot us."
That observation put Y/N on alert and she looked back, seeing a man with an AKS-74U and another with a Beretta M12.
"If you knew it wasn't a dream, why didn't you bring an armored car?" She ran her tongue between her lips, smiling at the man beside her. Neil tried to argue, but she just took off her seat belt and picked up the Glock 19 stuck in the vest he was wearing.
Y/N crawled out of the car and sat at the window opening. This encouraged the men in the two cars to start shooting, trying desperately to hit her. Neil shouted something that she couldn't understand and then she felt one of his hands on her thigh, giving her stability to continue with the plan. With her arm resting on the roof of the vehicle, Y/N aimed the gun at the car that was closest to them. Her intention was not to start a firefight in the middle of one of the main avenues in the city, but she had no other option. Holding her breath, she fired the first shot and the bullet hit the tire, taking the car out of circulation. Y/N celebrated while preparing for the second car, but dealing with this one was not an easy task. Now they were in a tunnel and, consequently, losing speed because of the other cars that came along the way. Neil left two pats on her leg, indicating that she had better get back in the car and that is what she did. Screams, honks and gunshots echoed through the tunnel, turning the place into a war zone. Whoever these men were, Y/N knew they weren't going to give up.
Tired of playing cat and mouse, she went to the back seat, getting on her knees. Through the broken glass above the trunk, Y/N adjusted the aim of her gun, ignoring the sniper and focusing on the driver. With another accurate shot, the bullet hit the man's chest and he lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned for a while, streaking the asphalt, but no other car was involved in the accident. Y/N sighed in relief and looked for another possible threat, just checking, but when she realized that the area was clean, she returned to the passenger seat, leaving the gun on the dashboard in front of her.
"Next time I'm going to get an armored car." Neil comments, stepping on the gas. "Nice shot, by the way."
"Anytime." Y/N smiled, trying to control her breathing.
With the adrenaline disappearing from her body, it was hard for her to believe that this was really happening. For many nights she cried, wondering what it would be like if Neil just came back to her, but now she was afraid to wake up and realize that it was just another vivid dream.
The sun was rising when they arrived in a shed away from the city. Seen from the outside, the place was a little scary, but the interior wasn't that bad. There was some equipment like trackers, walkie-talkie, bulletproof vests, weapons, ammunition; a table with a mess of papers and on the other side two beds and something that Y/N supposed to be a private bathroom.
"Where we are?"
We. That simple word echoed in her mind. Y/N thought that "we" didn't exist anymore.
"For now in a safe place. It's dangerous for you out there." He answered the question and took a bottle of water, handing it to her after taking a generous sip.
"Who are these people, Neil?" She wanted answers, lots of answers, and that frustrated the british spy because for the first time he didn't know what could happen.
Neil had a mission and that mission ended with him dying in Stalask-12, but after what TP did, everything changed.
"We have a name..." He wanted to say more, he wanted to reassure her, but that was all he had at the moment.
Y/N drank some water and left the bottle on the table, looking at some reports and photos. All photos were of the same man.
Lenard Vaher
"But apparently they don't just want you..."
It took a few seconds and when the realization hit Y/N, concern appeared on her face.
No, not him.
"Where's TP? He's safe, right?"
"He was going to see you when Lenard's men kidnapped him. This happened three weeks ago." And considering the anger in Neil's voice, finding TP was proving an almost impossible task, but in the midst of so much concern, one point attracted Y/N's attention.
"You said he was going to see me..."
"There was something he needed to tell you." Neil sighed, resting his hands on the table. A few strands of blond hair fell over his forehead, but he quickly shook his head back, as he always did. "He returned to Stalask-12, Y/N."
After that statement, the only sound that could be heard was Neil's footsteps closing the distance between them and the first thing she did was put her hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. Neil smiled. And that was not one of his famous smiles. That was a shy smile. His heart was beating like a drum and it was all because of her. Loving Y/N was something so special and pure, that Neil accepted his fate without a second thought. Saving the world, he was giving her a second chance to live, but now he is the one who received a second chance.
"I missed you every day." Before she could begin to consider the meaning behind his words, he settled his mouth upon hers, robbing her of thought.
She closed her eyes and melted against him, flattening her hands on his arms. Neil caught her bottom lip in his teeth, nibbling and licking at it until she thought she might perish from the intensity of the feeling. She whimpered at the sensation, and he rewarded the sound by deepening the kiss, giving her everything she desired. His tongue stroked hers, slow and insistent. A lush, decadent pleasure unfolded within them, snaking through their veins as though it had lain coiled in anticipation for years.
Just waiting for this moment.

(you said you wanted asks lol)
i love you anon you are funny

You ever think maybe things
work a little too well here? You guys did great! Barry? Barry! All
right, we've got the sunflower patch in quadrant nine... What happened to you? Where are you? - I'm going out. - Out? Out where? - Out there. - Oh, no! I have to, before I go to work for the rest of my life. You're gonna die! You're crazy! Hello? Another call coming in. If anyone's feeling brave, there's a Korean deli on 83rd that gets their roses today. Hey, guys. - Look at that. - Isn't that the kid we saw yesterday? Hold it, son, flight deck's restricted. It's OK, Lou. We're gonna take him up. Really? Feeling lucky, are you? Sign here, here. Just initial that. - Thank you. - OK. You got a rain advisory today, and as you all know, bees cannot fly in rain. So be careful. As always, watch your brooms, hockey sticks, dogs, birds, bears and bats. Star Wars? Nah, I don't go for
that... ...kind of stuff. All right, here it goes.
Oh, no! You're dating a human florist!
You, sir, will be lunch for my iguana, Ignacio! We throw it in jars, slap a label
on it, and it's pretty much pure profit. Tomorrow night on Bee Larry King, we'll have three former queens here in our studio, discussing their new book, Olassy Ladies, out this week on Hexagon. Bye-bye. Why is yogurt night so
difficult?! I'm hoping that, after this is all over, you'll see how, by taking our honey, you not only take everything we have but everything we are! But you've never been a police officer,
have you? No, but there are other things bugging me in life. Yeah. Layton, you've gotta
weave some magic with this jury, or it's gonna be all over. Here is your smoking gun. What is that? It's a bee smoker! What, this? This harmless little contraption? This couldn't hurt a fly, let alone a bee. Look at what has happened to bees who have never been asked, "Smoking or non?" Is this what nature intended for us? To be forcibly addicted to smoke
machines and man-made wooden slat work camps? It's the
last chance I'll ever have to see it. Vanessa, I just wanna say I'm sorry. I never meant it to turn out like this. I know.
But isn't he your only hope? Listen,
everyone! And I don't see a nickel!
