Course Training // Ronald Speirs Imagine
Taglist: @alienoresimagines
Today was the training days where the companies Easy, Fox, and Dog company came together for course training within Camp Toccoa. Everyone, including officers, were to be in gear and have their helmets on, along with carrying a rifle. The sun beat down hard on the Camp, it was around eighty degrees, no clouds in the sky. Meaning even with the nice warm weather, it would be harder on the soon to be Paratroopers on the rough training day.
Y/N hiked up her service pants and pulled on her jacket. Grabbing her helmet and rifle. "You ready for today, Y/N?" called Gaurnere as he was bust tying his boots. Y/N turned and smiled, sitting down to pull on hers.
"Yeah, we are with all the other companies. Remember last time that guy from Dog Company," She cut her friend Luz off with a groan.
"Luz, please don't remind me," was all she said while the other men laughed slightly. Y/N tied her boots tightly and made her way out with the rest of Easy Company. Anxiety coursed through her body as she saw the mass of men. She was the only female in the Paratroopers, and this was the first time all the companies were intermixed. She swallowed hard and pursed her lips, placing her helmet on her head as her eyes darted back and forth. Everyone was a bit early, so free time was a given. Y/N stuck close to her friends of Easy and chatted along with everyone.
///
The Officers of most the Companies stood together. Mostly meaning the Speirs, Winters, and Nixon were chatting with each other about their jobs, their companies, and the infamous Captain Sobel that has yet to arrive to the training course. A female in the midst of the males stuck out, catching Ronald Speirs' eye. He had heard about the a woman joining the Airborne, but he had yet seen her anywhere. He had wanted to meet her, intrigued of the fact that a woman was among all of the men. During the time, it was a shock to everyone. Ronald wasn't like type of man to hate the fact that she was a woman in the Army, he respected her. And he didn't have to know her.
"Say, Dick is that the female in your company," Ronald pointed out. Catching Winters' and Nixon's attention as the turned to see where Speirs was looking. He chuckled slightly and nodded.
"Yeah, that's Y/N L/N. One of the best in the Company. She's smart, real smart and is good with all the guys. She was the one that beat up one of your men," he said, looking at him. Ronald scoffed slightly and shook his head. Whilst Nixon laughed.
"She is a lot smaller than I thought," Richard looked down with a smile and shook his head. And with that comment, Captain Sobel stormed into the mass of men. Calling everyone to attention to inform everyone that course training would in fact start.
///
Men ran the course. Sweat pouring down their faces from both the intense work out their bodies were performing and the intense the sun was packing on them. The helmet and service uniform wasn't exactly ventilating their bodies well. Y/N watched as it was her turn to go next, she clutched her rifle tightly and prepared herself. When the whistle was blown she was off, running between the rope holes. Hearing her name being chanted by here peers. Though, the taunts and mean shouts of the men from other companies were also heard. Y/N grunted angrily and just continued. Crawling through and rolling out the tight tunnels. Trying her best to ignore the hateful and humiliating words men from the other companies called out.
She made it to the wall, sprinting as fast as she could and jumping, climbing the wall. A man from what she believed Dog Company reached his hand down, being the team mate to help her up. She smiled up at him taking his hand. When she swung her leg up, the guy smirked at her and yanked his hand back. Y/N's smile quickly faded as without that hand, she couldn't support herself in such an awkward position. The female quickly slipped backwards from the top of wall and fell right off, landing flat on her back. Right in front of maybe a hundred or so men. It must've been at least an eight foot drop, maybe more. Some men winced, the men of Easy looked with worried and shocked expressions. While many men from the sister companies laughed loudly. Earning nasty looks and threats from Easy. A groan of pain left her lips as her eyes squinted.
"Y/N!" Leib shouted, running over to her. He had just reached the wall and saw the entire thing unfold. Y/N sat up and Joe helped her stand. She stared up at the wall with a determined look, grabbing her rifle and adjusting her helmet, she stood up. Backing up slightly, taking a running jumping and grabbing onto the wall. Cheers were heard as she climbed her way up. The female swung over the top and jumped down, running to complete the course.
///
Lieutenant Speirs and Winters stood and watched what happened to the female. Staring in shock for a moment, everything happened so fast. Speirs was just shocked at what one of his men did. Anger coursing through his veins as he pushed past Richard. Who just watched him walked straight towards the end of training course. Seeing the member of his company that dropped Y/N just moments later, cheering with a few friends at how 'well' he did on the course. Though, that all ended as he realized his platoon commander stalking towards him quickly, with a look like could kill him faster than any Kraut would.
"Private Pike, what the fuck was that?!" he shouted, the Private in front of him snapping to attention. Gulping hard as he opened his mouth to answer, but after continues stammering, no words came out. "I watched what you did to L/N, and that is no way you treat a fellow soldier. Whether different company and different gender, she worked just as hard as you! I don't give a damn what your opinions are, you will respect her. Now when she finished, you will loudly apologize to the female and then run up and down Curahee three fucking times! Is that understood?!" Speirs voiced boomed, louder than all the all the cheering. Everyone snapped their heads, quieting down to listen in. The private stood, fear etched on his face as his hands shaking. It looked like he would piss himself any moment.
"Yes sir!" he yelled, his voice wobbling. Y/N had just finished the course, panting slightly. Realizing all the eyes that landed on you, and made a confused look. And when she saw the man who had dropped her, her eyes leveled. A stone cold stare converting onto her face as he sheepishly, filled with embarrassment, walked up to her. She looked around the Private to see Ronald Speirs with his arms folded across his chests and an angry look on his features. Y/N smiled slightly as she looked at the Private who was now standing in front of her at attention.
"I'm sorry for dropping you on the wall! You are a future Paratrooper, just like me! I should work along side you, not against you! As you are a fellow soldier!" he exclaimed loudly. A small smile forming on her lips and she nodded.
"Thanks Private, next time I'll just pull you down with me or throw you over," she warned, a innocent smile on her face as she walked past the Lieutenant. Who she swore had a small one his face as he glanced her way. Locking eyes for a moment as Y/N met up with the rest of Easy Company.

For the next few days, Lieutenant Speirs had been keeping his eye out for the singular woman. Making sure he saw her out in morning formations, when she was walking with members of her company. When she went out for leave. He became intrigued by the woman. He wasn't stalking, or at least Ronald thought he wasn't. But, that day at course training, seeing that determined look on her face, how hard she worked on that course, how she replied to that Private's apology, how perfect she looked while doing it. He didn't even know the woman. Just one look from her with her smile. She was smiling at him. Lieutenant Speirs was hooked on a girl he never spoke to. But he knew he would eventually. And he wanted today to be that day,
Ronald looked outside his bunk area, there she was. Y/N had just waved off Liebgott, who had walked off in the other direction. Leaving Y/N alone, where she pulled out a cigarette and placed it between her lips. Speirs new this was a perfect time to make his move. So grabbing his garrison cap and a lighter, walking out of her bunking area to meet up with Miss L/N.
Y/N patted her pockets, grunting as she realized she forget her matches. This is when Prince Charming Speirs swooped in. "Need a light?" he asked as he flipped open a lighter, lighting the cancer stick that sat between his lips. She chuckled and nodded, turning her head so he light her cigarette. He smiled slightly and lifted his lighter up, flicking his thumb so flame popped up. Ignited the cigarette and T/N took a drag. Plucking the cigarette out of her lips, holding it between her middle and index finger. A sigh of relief left her as she blew the smoke out. Looking back over at the officer, tapping the ashes off of her cancer stick.
"What brings you out here, sir?" she asked, placing the cigarette back between her lips. Raising an eyebrow at her superior. Ronald couldn't help but glance at her lips, fast like lightening. He grinned and turned towards her.
"Saw you out here, thought you wanted some company," Ronald simply stated. Y/N smiled, crossing her arms over her chest. Taking the cigarette out of her mouth, tapping the ashes away once more. Looking down before looking back up at him.
"Are you... flirting with me, Lieutenant Speirs?" she asked, a small smirk dancing across his lips. The officer smiled, a faint blush displaying on his cheek as he took interest in the concrete path for a moment. Looking back up to flick his cigarette away. Looking down at the woman.
"I don't know Corporal, am I?" giving a quick wink, he turned around. Beginning to make his way back. Y/N scoffed slightly, catching onto the Lieutenant's game and she wanted to play it. Tossing her cigarette away.
"See you around, sir?" Y/N called out, a smile on her lips. Ronald stopped and turned around, a smile on his lips as he already had a new cigarette in between his lips. He tilted his head up.
"Yes ma'am," he called back. Turning around and walking back to wherever the mysterious man was going. Y/N smiled, not really believing what was happening. She bit her bottom lip and looked down.
"What the absolute fuck just happened? The scariest man I've ever heard of and met, is flirting with you?" Luz spoke from behind her. Y/N whipped around, a blush coming to her face. His mouth slightly open as he looked past her and looked at the officer who had just left. Y/N crossed her arms.
"I expect you to keep your loud mouth shut. And what is so weird about that?" she asled, raising a brow at him. Who just put his hands up in surrender and turned around. Walking off while Y/N laughed and followed him.

The next few weeks, Ronald and Y/N had been seeing each other more often. Meeting up late at night like teenagers and taking runs up Currahee together. Even sometimes spending their weekend passes together. Going out on the town and having fun. She saw a side to the Lieutenant that most never even new existed. He was all smiles around her, only yelling if someone got an order wrong, or if some sleaze in bar touched her. And Y/N loved it. Speirs treated her so differently from all the men that had tried to get with her. The Lieutenant had one hundred percent fell for the witty, sarcastic, lovely female Paratrooper. And Y/N would be lying straight through her teeth if she said she didn't feel the same. There was too much chemistry between the two to deny it. Though, neither of them would just tell each other what they were feeling. So, they were stuck in the chasing and flirting game.
Many of Y/N's closer friends in the Company, Luz, Lieb, and Randleman, were itching for them to just tell each other and get together. It was agonizing watching them flirt constantly. Glancing at each other during training days, the sneaking around. They acted like teenagers that were in love. Even Winters was dying for it to happen.
Now it was nighttime, Ronald had just got back into bunking area after seeing Y/N. What he didn't know was that Richard had been waiting for him. And when he noticed his fellow officer, he nearly killed him out of fright. His chest heaving while Dick just stood there with a small smile on his face.
"Jesus Dick! You can't fucking do that!" he cursed, running a hand through his hair as he tried to regulate his heartbeat. The other officer chuckled slightly, holding his Garrison cap in and hands and looking down at the ground.
"It's nearly midnight Speirs. Out visiting my Paratrooper?" he asked, eyeing the officer in front of him with a small smirk. Ronald just blankly stared at him, pressed his lips together and just sighing.
"Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be in your bunking that's with your company?" Winters laughed at the reverse of questioning. He nodded, still having a smile.
"Why don't you just tell her Ronald? You know she feels the same. It actually hurts to see you two just dance around each other," Ronald just looked away after he could feel his cheeks redden. He didn't want to admit that he was nervous, that this woman had turned him to jelly. "She has made you so happy. I've seen an entire different side of you I never thought existed. Just tell her."
Ronald looked up at him, realizing his words. He grabbed his Garrison cap and was out of the door like a rocket. Richard just stood there and laughed. Shaking his head slightly. While Richard was jogging to go to the place he saw his love last. Sitting in the grass of the field behind many of the house, staring at the stars. And that is where she still was. The wind flew through her hair. She looked so perfect.
The Lieutenant froze for a moment. Standing about a hundred feet away from the sitting woman. Admiring her beauty and how peaceful she looked. Almost like she wasn't at all preparing for a war. He took a deep breath and jogged over to her. Y/N looked up, standing when she heard the footsteps. Though, she relaxed when she saw it was just Ronald. A smile settling on her face, opening her mouth to say something sarcastic. But, before she could even get a word out, Ronald grabbed her face with his hand gently, dipping down and slamming his lips onto hers. It took Y/N a second to really understand what was happening. But once she did, she wrapped her arms around the officer's neck and kissed back. Their lips moving in perfect harmony.
When their lips departed, she looked up at the officer. A smile still on her face and her cheeks tinted pink. "Jeez sir, all you had to do was ask," she giggled. Ronald let out a breathy laugh before pressing his lips back onto her for a brief moment. And pulled away again.
"Go through this war with me. Please Y/N," he asked. His voice breathy. Y/N smiled and pecked his lips.
"Yes sir."
