Luke Cooper called you for a date, and you have no idea why you agreed—except maybe because he's ridiculously charming in that annoying way. Honestly? Pretty privilege was real, and Luke was a living proof.

"Have you chosen something?" Luke asked, his eyes wide with playful innocence, framed by the mess of curls that always seemed to tumble over his forehead. He had a way of looking at you like you were the most important thing in the world, even in moments as trivial as this.

You glanced up from the menu, still trying to make sense of the mountain of choices. "Not yet," you replied, your voice soft, eyes scanning the options. "There’s so many to choose from." You frowned slightly, feeling the weight of the prices. Damn, the food here was expensive. Did he even have money to pay for it? Like, he literally does absolutely nothing on his job.

Luke shifted in his seat, his leg bouncing lightly under the table as if his impatience had a rhythm of its own. "Uh… okay," he said, looking away for a brief moment, before his eyes darted back to you with mischief in them. "How about now?"

"No, Luke. I didn’t," you sighed, rubbing your temples as if the decision were the most difficult one you’d ever had to make. "I’m between chicken and fries, or salad and beef. They're both good options," you explained, your voice trailing off as you pondered the choices. You could feel his eyes on you, waiting for an answer that wouldn’t come easily.

"Oh, right. Take your time." He smiled, his lips curling upward into a grin that was equal parts charming and annoying, like he knew exactly how to test your patience.

You had met Luke Cooper a month ago at the office, and from the moment he opened his mouth, you knew he was going to be trouble. He was relentless with his jokes, particularly pranking Angela and Kevin, and while you’d never admit it to anyone, those pranks made him a kind of sunshine in the office chaos. The way he spoke with that hint of mischief, the little glint of humor in his eyes—it was hard to resist. His messy brown curls framed his face just right, and his pink plump lips always curled into that crooked smile. Honestly? Pretty privilege was real, and Luke was living proof.

"How about now?" he asked again, a soft giggle escaping his lips. His eyes sparkled with a familiar mischief, knowing full well that you were probably getting annoyed.

"God’s sake, Luke," you huffed, frustration slipping into your tone. "Can you just let me choose? Jesus, You're so annoying."

For a moment, the playful energy between you two vanished. Luke, usually quick to laugh at your reactions, fell quiet. His lips pressed together in a soft line, and the giggle that had been bubbling in him seemed to fade. "I’m sorry," he said, his voice unexpectedly serious.

You blinked, taken aback by his sudden change in tone. He rarely apologized, especially not when he’d been the one causing the chaos. You reached out, your fingers lightly brushing his knuckles in an attempt to reassure him. "It’s okay, Luke," you said, your voice gentler now. "Sorry about the… the scream, okay? You’re not annoying."

He looked at you with those big eyes, nodding slowly. A small, sheepish smile returned to his face. "But hey," he said, a bit of his old playful energy creeping back. "You got your options now?"

You sighed and stared at the menu, trying to decide between the same two items again. Luke watches you, his brow furrowed. "You know… I think you’re gonna choose the chicken and fries," he says, eyes gleaming.

"You think so?"

"I just feel like it’s the kind of thing that speaks to you," he says, leaning back in his chair dramatically.

You pause, looking over at him. "Yeah, well, I think you’re right," you say slowly, before glancing at him with a mischievous grin.

"You always do know how to pick out the obvious ones." Luke smirks back. "You ate the same lunch for a month, miss chicken salad and orange juice."

“Have you decided?" the waiter asks, looking between you both.

You glance at Luke, who's already holding up two fingers in the air. "Chicken and fries. But also… salad?" Luke grins, "We'll take everything. Just bring us all the things and we’ll figure it out." The waiter laughs nervously, unsure whether Luke's joking or not, before walking off.

"See? Problem solved," Luke says with a wink.

"You’re lucky I'm not paying for this," you tease, shaking your head.

Luke leans in slightly, his grin turning a little softer, more sincere. "Well, if you were, I’d still be happy to let you treat me," he says, his voice low and playful. "But don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you with the best company you've ever had."

He gives you that smile again—the one that always seems to make everything a little brighter. You can’t help but roll your eyes, but there's warmth in your chest as you meet his gaze.

"You're really something else," you murmur, your smile gentle.

"And you're the best part of my evening."

Probably something in the middle... I really like the concept of them as spoiled viewers who only need intrigue and drama, and it might work very well considering G as a warlock and one of your latest drawing (VERY COOL BTW)

And of course Scar is crit charisma'ed them so now they just love him as an adorable puppy 👍🏿

the watchers are like. an eldritch entity that's both singular and plural. they're incomprehensible gkfjdkgjf grian's never seen what they look like, but they mainly communicate with him by manipulating his emotions? he feels different when they're around, and he's not sure what they want from him yet, but they must want something in return for the immense power they've given him!!! they enjoy it when grian loses himself in his powers so his current guess is that they simply enjoy watching him either succeed or suffer... maybe both...

the watchers really don't know what to think of scar yet!!!!!!!! he's. really powerful. but in a way they don't understand. the bond grian's formed with him could prove problematic if scar keeps succeeding in keeping him calm and in control of his emotions.

Hi! Love your One Jump au is so interesting!!! If you don't mind, I'll ask some questions ... Please feel free to not answered them if you're not in the mood ... So, is Leo like street smart? Those he still goes to Run of the mill? How Splinter, Big mama and Draxum found out the others are alive? How is the dynamic between the brothers?

Is Leo street smart?

Yep! The name "One Jump" is actually after the song in Aladdin, so think of him very much like Aladdin! He's gotta steal to eat, gotta eat to live, he'll tell ya all about it when he's got the time! All jokes aside though, he's very street smart. He's all but been raised by the streets, so he quite literally knows the Hidden City like it's his own home. He knows all the vendors by name, and they know him. Whether or not they *like* him is an entirely different story......

2. Does he still go to Run of the Mill?

3. How did the adults find out each other were alive?

In a different post I talked aboit how Raph got sick and needed to come down to the Hidden City, where he ran off and ran into Mikey (linked here). Big Mama basically saw this lost child who looked eerily like a child she once wanted to raise and took him in. Cue Draxum freakimg out for several days until he realizes that woah, Big Mama is still alive??? He goes knocking on her door and finds her playing tea party with His kid and another litfle turtle who looks just like the kid he wanted to raiss with her.....

Happy reunion all around! Raph and Mikey are excited to move in, and while Raph continues to go to school on the surface world, they still hang out all the time and the adukts are working out some kind of way to get between the surface and Hidddn City easier. Meanwhile, Big Mama and Draxum just keep wondering, well, if they're both alive, and their two kids, then what are the chances of their other two children and partner being alive as well?

4. DYNAMICS! (i live for these kids of questions!)

Raph and Mikey - Bestest of bros! Met each other first, hang out all the time, both prodigies in their fields and love to talk about their interests! Both have a pretty poor perception of safety, so they get into trouble from time to time, but are also pretty good at getting out of it. The silliest of guys, nothing wrong with them at all and I'm sure there's no danger to their relationship on the horizon! : )

Raph and Donnie- Overprotective brother extraordinare. Draxum drilled it into Raph's head growing up that Donnie is a bit squishier than the rest of them, and he kinda internalized that idea that he needs to protect Donnie, even though Donnie is a very capable person and can handle himself! They fight a lot about what is and isn't appropriate for Donnie to be doing, but they really do love each other, and outside of thise fights, they get along really well (especially when Donnie lets Raph help with explody experiments)

Mikey and Donnie- Mikey is just a touch overbearing for Donnie tbh. Donnie's used to being an only child, so Mikey's clunginess is a bit much for him a lot of the time, which drives a bit of a wedge between them. Parallel Play is their favorite thing, they love to just exist together. Mikey also doesn't treat Donnie like he's made of glass, so they like to sneak out and cause mischief and sometimes even solve crimes! They are silly, and their newest crime to solve is who in the world dares to steal from the children of Big Mama, Baron Draxum and Lou Jitsu, they're famous dammit!

Raph and Leo- Leonardo? The fourth turtle? Dad's mentioned him sometimes, but he gets pretty sad when talking about him, so it's best to just not think about lost things!

Mikey and Leo- Who? A slider? Like a sandwich? Now that you mention it, she's pretty hungry, maybe Mama will take Mikey to go get some dinner!

Donnie and Leo- There's a blue spark somewhere, in a place Donnke can only reach when he's truly trying to connect with his ancestors. Maybe a distant cousin? He's not sure, but he's got pressing matters at the moment, don't bother him!

"Yes, he told me I should try and spin it as if I had done such a thing on purpose. But I don't see how I could possibly..." "Oh, we had an idea for that!"

Mimosa flutters from behind, resting her hands on Janus' shoulders. The glint of mischief hiding in her rosy glasses does not escape his notice.

"We could help you mirror it in the city proper, you know!" "What?" "It's an interesting theory. The structures you made still stand, but what gives them life and personality has been greyed out." "I wouldn't say that--" "So how do you fix it? Do you paint them with the hues and values they're supposed to be, or do you pick something new?" "What do you do with the spots where the paint bled together? Do you paint over that, too?"

As the two bounce back and forth in this terrible game of brainstorming, Janus begins to put his hands to his cheeks in mounting horror.

"Oh, no. No no no. Absolutely not--" "If we make someone look like an old black and white movie, what happens? Will they try to change to technicolour?" "Would they paint themselves the colour palettes they're used to? Maybe it's something entirely different. If we make those hues correspond with their personalities..." "I--I'll have no part in this! The last time something like this happened, everything--" "Ah-ah, don't worry."

Mimosa leaves Janus side to twirl next to Solaris, who makes an artful pose himself, as if framing the splotchy mess of a diorama in his hands.

"We have this one completely under control. Not like last time." "I'll make sure of it. Just a little bit of editing... ah, Mimosa, what if we..."

Janus can only move his head as the two take their leave, watching them scheme and snicker. He turns back to look at the model of the city. And in a scramble that almost makes him trip over his own feet, he rushes to his boxes of paints.

"--I have to at least put the base coat back on, or they really won't have anything at all!"

Welcome to another zany event for the fall season! It looks like Mimosa and Solaris aren't done causing trouble, but this time, it should be harmless. Right? (Right...?)

Taking inspiration from a creative mishap, the Stars have decided to effectively render the city in greyscale--including the people residing in it--to see what really makes everyone so colourful. Thankfully, most people will start with a base hue.

What does that mean, though? Here's a handy-dandy list of notes!

As soon as it strikes midnight that night, your muse will find that they've been completely greyscaled, save for one colour that represents who they are at their core, and only that colour! - Think of it like those 'what colour is your soul' quizzes. If your muse was only one hue, what would it be? For example, a character that is inherently cheery might turn completely yellow or pink, while a hot-headed character may turn red or orange to reflect their personality.

Your muse cannot help but feel and act whatever hue/personality they seem to be. However! The more your muse interacts with the people around them, the more colours (and feelings/facets of their personality) will open up to them. This will also physically reflect on them. - If your cheery yellow muse bumps into a sad, blue muse, you'll both have a new colour to express. Now you can feel happy (yellow) AND sad (blue)! And perhaps a sort of melancholy joy, like watching your best friend win that prize you wanted instead of you. Of course, you're happy for them, but sad you didn't win. - Or maybe those two colours mix into being green with envy... And suddenly, you have a new colour ;3

Any inanimate object your muse interacts with (except their Island Issued Cell Phone) will take on your muse's hue. Every step you take will leave a colourful footprint in its wake, every hand rail will have colourful handprints. More on that later.

With enough interactions and perspectives, your muse will be back to their old selves in no time! If, that is, they want to go back to their old selves at all. Maybe another colour palette suits them better than before...?

"It can't be that easy, though."

And, you're right! The experiment did more than reduce everyone to solid (or no) colours! Some other strange things are happening, too. Such as...

The NPCs of the city have not escaped unscathed. Unlike you, though, they have no hue to them at all. However, they'll absorb colours from your muses by proximity and action. - If your deep-green jealous muse is around, NPCs will turn deep-green too, and may want what you have--and might try to take it by force. But a calm mint-coloured muse may just leave you alone and soak up some vibes. - This extends to creatures of the island, too, so watch out!

Sources of water in the city (the ocean, lakes, ponds, swimming pools, etc) will wash away at least one colour from you. (You can still drink and cook with it without any effect, though.) Better not get caught in a rainstorm any time soon!

To combat this, you can find paint cans with a random colour paint in them around the city. You never know what you're going to get, though!

The city itself is completely greyscale, so navigating it might be a challenge without any colourful landmarks to stand out. That being said, your muse will leave colour wherever they go, like they're a giant paint roller. And so will everyone else's muses! Figuring out populated areas will be Very Easy, but you might get disoriented in places that don't get a lot of foot traffic.

These are the major issues...... for now :)

FAQ

"Do I have to pick a hue at the beginning? I can't decide on one."

It's entirely possible that your muse can start in greyscale, and just has No Personality. In that case, they'll take on the hue of the first person they interact with.

"What do we do if a colour has multiple associations with it?"

Each association of that colour is a valid one, and there are no incorrect colour associations. Each colour is whatever you need it to be in the moment. The definition of "red" for your muse may not match the "red" of your RP partner--and that's okay! What may be helpful is to make an event info post explaining your colour choice, how you interpret it, and how it would affect your character!

"Do we have to stick to basic colours like red, yellow, green, blue, etc?"

Nope. Maybe your muse is a mauve, emerald, beige, or aquamarine. Pick any colour you think is best for the moment!

"In theory, could we use the paint cans laying around to add hues to others by splashing them with it or something?"

PVP is enabled, if you want to be a menace! (with mun permission, of course)

"Is the comic in black and white for plot reasons?"

I didn't really have an opinion of their relationship for a while so I just accepted it when people said they were siblings canonically, and then as I got further into the games and started reading the Shadow manga I eventually couldn't ignore just how much their canon relationship and fanon potential compelled me anymore. Like with S0ntai1s and S0n1ne, it's really their canon and spin off media interactions which got me hooked to begin with. Like canon really presented to us "they kept each other from feeling lonely, were each other's best friends, Maria was so deeply important to Shadow that he structured his morals and reasons for living around her and has been very fixated on her memory ever since he awoke from the pod" and expected me to feel normal about them?

"I just want them to be happy, is that too much to ask?!" Listen listen I love the tragic nature of their relationship in canon and it's fun to adapt in fanon too, but even I love to imagine sometimes scenarios in which Maria lived and they were able to be happy together I crave it🥺🥲💖

"I ship them platonically" like with the previous ship bingo answer involving S0n1ne and S0ntai1s, Shadaria is one of those ships where my favorite depiction of them is queerplatonic. I can enjoy them platonically as best friends quite a lot for sure (and same with the romantic interpretation), it's just that the idea of them not having a solid idea of what their relationship is beyond their friendship and their arrangement (with Shadow assisting Maria) or the fact that they'd love to be by each others' sides forever is really compelling to me. An intensely strong bond to each other which the usual labels can't easily pin down

And man. They have got something they've truly got something. They're canonically co-dependent, Kitsunami wants to be with Surge forever, same trauma, they're talked about sticking it to the world and paving their own road together, they're toxic and yet surprisingly soft about each other, they're partners, they need each other, etc etc I love them. With every new issue that comes out it's just made abundantly clear to me that (like Sonic and Tails) this is the strongest relationship they will have with anyone. They are not to be separated. They've grown together. They were quite literally made for each other y'all like what's not to get obsessed over?

"Deranged" M-Me? Deranged about Surge and Kit? What? Nooooo... *very obviously hides my large essay series in my drafts dissecting their characters and relationship in comic canon*

"I just want them to be happy, is that too much to ask?!" Please universe if I could just ask for one thing. Please. Allow them to take the third path they desired so long ago, to reject being forced into being heroes or villains (good or bad) and just be allowed to adventure together and be partners forever, doing that which makes them happy💖 They deserve what Sonic/Tails and Mighty/Ray have, and also to get to be in the morally grey area that Team Dark gets to be in

"I ship them platonically" Ahshsjs I know I'm gonna sound like a broken record at this rate but my ideal Kiturge dynamic is queerplatonic also. Like Sonic, I see Surge on the aroace spectrum, as someone who doesn't feel romantic/sexual attraction in a usual manner and doesn't particularly desire/care about romance. Her and Drippy would never do something like kiss or ask each other out or any classic way to begin a relationship. They'd just be together for so long that they'd naturally start to blur the lines in their relationship, and so they'd enter a stage of "not dating but also not not dating so secret third thing". They'd be able to trust each other more than anyone else, they'd feel safe experimenting witb each other. They could french kiss simply because Surge randomly decided she wanted to try one, and decided Kit was the best option of experimentation. As for Kit himself, I think of him a bit more like Nine, someone who's also on the aroace spectrum and doesn't fully know what love is, but is a bit bewildered by potentially experiencing romantic/sexual feelings for the first time. He gets jealous of others that gets close to Surge, he wants to be useful to her, he wants to be praised by her, he wants to be her partner forever. He could give less of a shit whether Surge has platonic or romantic or any other feelings about him as long as it still means that she wants him around and looks at no one else

In this specific case, they should bite each other harder and more often because it's hot. I think actually Kit would enjoy if Surge gave him bites of affection (one he realizes they're bites of affection), and they could also bite each other as foreplay to get freaky about it

"OTP" Not my OTP for the Sonic series as a whole, but definitely my OTP for Surge and Kit's characters for sure. Not a single Kit ship of mine comes even close, and while I have a large number of Surge ships (some that I am really into), Kiturge is undoubtedly number 1.

"They keep me up at night" Listen I have not been okay about them since I watched the Sonic 06 cutscenes. I often think about what was and what could have been and what could be

"I ship them because of canon" Okay, so I believe I've told this story before, so I'll try to be brief. But I wasn't expecting to ship them when I got into 06. Based on fandom jokes and talk about the game these days, I assumed I would end up being really into M3philver (which I am, but in this case I mean like. Otp level for Mephiles ships), and then I'd be into Mephadow the same way I'm into Inf1nad0w and other ships of the like (which is to say, I thought it would be a hate ship basically). And then Mephiles’s intense festering desire for revenge turned into desire in the span of like. What. Five minutes? Mephiles was all "Oh you don't remember me? Well I remember you. What awaits you is oblivion!" and then after like 5 minutes he switches gears to trying to convince Shadow to give up on the world and join him. He wanted Shadow the Hedgehog so badly it made him look stupid, and even Shadow was interested in him for a minute there? Yeah that's what did me in canon wise. Mephiles getting fixated on Shadow and wanting him to join him with the addition of Mephiles' disappointment over Shadow refusing to join him.

"Deranged" Listen, I'm deranged about Mephiles and deducing what's going on with him to begin with, and him becoming interested in Shadow in 06 the way he does is a part of that

One (which I wouldn't want in canon) where Shadow joins Mephiles and they burn everything down together but also like are lowkey married/partners about it. The second one (which I wouldn't mind in canon) is a scenario in which Mephiles does manage to claw his way into the new timeline, but he ends up being stuck staying under the radar and living among the common people so long that he starts to become a bit more attached and a bit less keen to fulfill his deep down desire to burn it all. Then he and Shadow cross paths again and they (who in this scenario find the other interesting) eventually form a closer relationship. Dunno if that makes any sense. Basically the two options are either "they fulfill Mephiles' 06 desires together" or "Mephiles grows to become more attached to the world in his attempt to lay low and gain power to enact his plans and then ends up together with Shadow as a partner". That's the short of it

Asking some writers/artists I follow:

Is there anything in your fic/comic that you as the author know about, but won't end up in the actual story?

Hmmmm... I have a lot of little moments from the Grown Apart cast's individual upbringings that are kinda floating around in my head, but I have no idea yet if they'll make it into the comics. So, I'm not sure if those count. There are a few little canon details that I haven't figured out how to include in the comics just yet, though. Such as:

Donnie speaking in a posh English accent...but only some of the time - mostly when he's not with his family or if he's trying to impress someone. Reason being: Donnie doesn't naturally talk like Big Mama (though he may have adopted a tinge of her inflection with certain words or vowels), it's mostly something he puts on intentionally to sound more...closely related to her? It's become a habit, and he doesn't always realize when he's doing it anymore, unless the others point it out. But it disappears the moment he gets too worked-up/excited about something.

Because Mikey spent so much time looking for ways to occupy himself while Leo was off causing mischief with his friends, he has a wide range of obscure talents & skills, many of which I'll probably never end up showing in canon because they're not particularly relevant to the plot. For example: - Guitar playing - Card stacking - Cup stacking - Solving a rubix cube in under 3 minutes - Painting/writing with his toes - Ballet (beginner level, but he's working on it) - Making music with water glasses - Yo-yo tricks - Acrobatics - Silk flying - The ancient art of the Japanese tea ceremony - Crochet - Playing Chopsticks on his shell (with chopsticks)

That's all I've got off the top of my head right now. Unless you're referring to things like "ideas that were originally going to be part of the canon, but got scrapped somewhere along the way." There's a LOT of those, lol. Some of which I might still end up sharing at some point, because I illustrated a few of them early on when I was doing story beats, and I like the illustrations despite them not being accurate anymore.

Others, I don't necessarily want to expose just yet, because they might still end up getting used somewhere? Maybe in this story or maybe in a different one entirely, who knows. I like to keep "scrapped" ideas in my back pocket just in case I decide to come back to them later down the line.

The talisman burns and Wei Wuxian is the first to open his eyes, followed by Lan Wangji. They're both misty-eyed and gravitate towards each other, tangling limbs underneath the warm blankets of their bed.

"Mn. I love you as well, Wei Ying. I will love you until the end of time."

"We get to be ancestors, Lan Zhan. We get to have a bloodline."

I've seen your Fuuma supremacy post on birb app (and love it!) and as a fellow Fuuma appreciator I'd like to ask you for gathering twelve reasons to why Fuuma is great / should be appreciated more~ uwu 👉👈

Hohoho that's an interesting one. Honestly it's a bit hard to put into words why certain character is underappreciated cuz it's hard to pinpoint what makes ppl get attached to character in the first place. But I'll try my best :D

1) honestly his early X self. He's so kind and gentle to Kotori and Kamui, very protective brother and friend. Also how soft he and Kamui are back then 🥺 and touchy feely with one another

2) speaking of early X Fuuma, just look at how gay he was for Kamui from the very start

Who the hell thinks of their friends in this shojo typical style??? With sakura petals and sparkles to the boot?? Good boy Fuuma was so head over heels for Kamui, it was adorable 😭♥️ good bf material

3) oke so onto his more complex and intriguing late X self: the enigma of what precisely happened. I've seen some people are discouraged by permanent hiatus and lack of elaboration just what happened to Fuuma. And while yes, I too would prefer if we had answered, mystery and head-scratchers are intriguing to me. I love to speculate, to analyze the possibilities with what we've been given so far. Which brings me to the next point:

4) there's more to late X Fuuma than it meets the eye. It's easy to dismiss him as sadistic without a cause villian (as he's portrayed in X anime sadly) but in manga that's far from the case. Like take this scene for example:

It's true he's ruthless in fulfilling people's wishes and doing bad deeds but look at his expression. That's not face of a man who's too delighted by causing mayhem, in fact looks more saddened by the fact too many people lose sight of themselves in process of caring for their loved ones

5) his more childish/bratty side

This scene in Ebisu before the destruction in vol4 for example. It was equally adorable and sinister given you know who Fuuma is but his kindness did seem genuine. Similar mischief can be seen in his interactions with Seishirou, Kakyou to some degree and sometimes when interacting with other Dragons

6) wish seeing ability and his general omnipotence. I love how he appears like personification of Judgment arcana (just taken on a darker meaning), how he can see deep inside person's heart and see what wishes dwell there. And how he delivers judgement by making those wishes reality. Tbh, I'm not trying to justify Fuuma's actions here but characters around him really do have fucked up wishes (ahem, Subaru, ahem Nataku) - X is basically a story about messed up people in messed up situations. In some lighert X AU he would have severed as a Santa claus or something but alas, X is far from light story

7) simply, these ambiguous lines

Fuuma is judging others on their lack of self awareness 25/8. Add scene with Karen and that "if killing others is wrong then why do we lose sight of what's truly important" line. As well as many more. Honestly maybe it's just me, but there's something ♥️ about characters that are 'above others' but still have a weakness/vulnerability that's tying them back to same humans they're supposed to be above (in Fuuma's case that's obviously his connection to Kamui). In X it's wishes that give characters sense of humanity and will to live and Fuuma himself isn't above wishing; his wish is connected to Kamui one way or another

8) how to not mention his homoerotic courtship battles with Kamui? Iconic honestly. Where else would you get this type of content that's not a BL manga

All shonen battles can go home these are only type that matter

9) oke so since since we're getting shallow for a bit: HE'S HOT AF ♥️🔥 I mean look at those evil smirks

10) I can't find a panel rn but at one point when Kamui said his wish is to bring old Fuuma back current Fuuma's eyes widened and that's the first and last time in series he appeared genuinely shocked. Which leads me to obviously question: why? Does it shock him Kamui wants other Fuuma back? Is Kamui wanting old Fuuma back somehow contradicting Fuuma's own wish (like if only way old Fuuma can come back is if Kamui were to die and Fuuma's wish is for Kamui to live)? I want to know what his wish is 🥺 I'm torn between him wanting Kamui to acknowledge his new self and wanting Kamui to start appreciating himself and wanting to live no matter what. Maybe it's both of those, maybe those wishes are connected somehow 🤔 either way it's that head-scratcher of what precisely late X Fuuma wished for that's intriguing. Maybe it's connected to old Fuuma's wish to protect Kamui but why hurt him so much then??

11) honestly, all the softer conflicting expressions he has, especially when Kamui is in question. Like this one for example

So soft and torn 🥺 Imma go cry why so emotional 😭😭😭 obvs this isn't the only instance, manga is filled with those subtle scenes where he's talking to Kamui or thinking about him with rather conflicting yearning expressions

Which bring me to the last one:

12) this scene. Prediction, whatever you call it. I need to know what will happen 😭😭😭

Look. Fuuma is one of my fave characters so it's only natural I want to see him suffer. I need him to break down cuz of something Kamui did, or even cuz of his death. I want him to be crushed under weight of his emotions and angst 🥺🙏 Wish master who can grant anyone's wish yet there's noone to grant him his own now that Kamui is no longer alive. So my point here is that Fuuma and generally whole late X setting is perfect angst material

All in all, I guess it's Fuuma's complexity that made him one of my faves. There's way more to him than it meets the eye

Klaus feels like a petty baby vampire, and the actor doesn't have the gravitas to land a vampire that's over a thousand years old. Because they're just sort of...feeding and causing mischief for a summer, there's no plan, the level of destruction feels very contained. They say, oh they're killing people across state lines, but we don't see the cops, who are also supposed to be vampire killers, tracking this, maybe having a network that's hunting them, we don't see the magnitude of the impact, it's all just contained to a few bodies in a house each time.

TVD has always had a problem with scale even within Mystic Falls. When Maryann gets control of Bon Temps, it's complete chaos, like people are ripping out their own intestines, there are orgies and there's cannibalism and of course they can't do on The CW what they do on HBO but they can show impact and TVD sucks at that.

I do feel differently when it comes to the personal stakes for Stefan and for Stelena, though.

In the season 2 finale, we get that desperation and anger and resentment at what Klaus is forcing him to do

we also get the switch to something primal

and I understand her desire to want more of this throughout his time with Klaus in season 3 but for me, I think we see him check out in these scenes, like the disassociation has happened; him ignoring a call from Elena with that blank stare after which he kills a human is an indication of him repressing his humanity

so him being his attack dog in 3x01 works for me

and I do think we see him drowning and how much he hates what he's doing

even in 3x02 because Paul is expressive so we see the desperation is in his eyes

and Klaus giving him a lot of freedom because he wants a brother and he wanted Stefan's allegiance without resorting to compulsion, while in the bigger narrative is ridiculous and lacks stakes, for Stefan I think the fact that Klaus is actively trying to seduce him to the dark side as it were

while Stefan has to reconcile the things he's done in the past,

as well as his ripper nature which he keeps feeding

and protecting Elena, which includes getting her to stop looking for him

works for me because it's about will there ever come a line where Elena really does mean nothing to him anymore or will there ever come a line where Elena will actually be done?

Which also leads to the emotional stakes for something like the closet scene is more whether or not Stefan and Elena can survive this, she's standing in a closet with a list of his victims etched into the wall

I also personally enjoy the fact that when he's with Elena, the emotions he's kept in comes out because how could it not come out with Elena?

So Klaus works for me specifically related to Stefan and Stelena. Much like how Katherine works for me specifically related to how she fucked up Stefan's life.

The Character Arcs Each of My OCs Would Go Through If They Were Companions in BG3 (The Good Routes)

Helena

Companion Quest Title: The Mischievous Rogue

When you first encounter Helena, she comes across as a bit nervous and wary. She wields her dagger out of fear against you, though doesn't make any moves. If you calm her down, she'll lower her guard and will be willing to join your party, though she doesn't speak too much at first. As you gain approval with her, she starts to open up through snarky comments. While running around the Grove and the goblin camp, she starts sowing little bits of chaos like pickpocketing people, causing confusion by moving people's possessions around without them knowing, and stealing the chicken for chicken chase. They're small things, but she seems happier when she gets to snicker at her victim's annoyance. If you don't tell her to knock it off and maybe even indulge her problematic behavior, she'll immediately take to you and start wanting to plan more elaborate schemes, even starting to target people in your camp with dumb little goofs and gaffs.

By act 2, she starts to open up a bit more. She has terrible anxiety and bits of PTSD that show mainly in the form of nightmares. You catch her one morning after she slept terribly and she'll comment how awful she feels, giving you the opportunity to learn just what kinds of nightmares or things happened to cause her to be so fearful. She tells you, then ends with the fact that people have only ever hurt her, so she's always stuck it out alone. This is the first time she's ever had someone she could count on, and it was nice. After this confession, you can also ask her why she enjoys causing commotion so much. If you do, she'll tell you that she doesn't really know. When she was small, it seemed better to be alone causing mischief than to be alone while being good and doing what everyone wanted. Her pranks and whatnot were how she justified the distance between her and everyone else, so that she felt like she didn't need others. Plus, it got her attention of people like the head of the orphanage she grew up in. That was the closest person she ever had to family, and even then, she barely remembers their face.

Act 3 in the city is where Helena thrives. Though she has many terrible memories, there's so many things she loves about Baldur's Gate. How easy it was to sow chaos in the streets, the sounds of all the people, the lights that shined through all the windows and lanterns at night that lit the city like stars... It's her home. She's excited to return back to the small apartment she has on the outskirts of the Lower City and share with you all the things she's collected over the years. When you arrive though, she is furious to find that it was taken over by Nine Fingers and her crew while she was away. Helena's home is everything to her. It's where she's stored all her treasures and collectibles over the years, and she wants it back. Outside of her possessions, she doesn't really know who she is or what she can offer others, especially this new group she's found herself caring for so much. She wanted to share her things and feel like she had something to offer you all, because obviously she couldn't be enough as she is. You have to fight off multiple Guild members to take back her home, and after fighting off waves of mercenaries, Helena enters her apartment to see that everything is gone. The Guild pawned off all of her loot while she was away, and Helena weeps. Those were her things, her memories, her life, and now it's all gone. After a day of grief, Helena decides that perhaps it's time to find new treasures and create new memories, maybe this time with the new friends she's made during her adventures. After being shown kindness and acceptance, even with her many faults, she can begin to learn to find more worth in herself rather than solely in the things she collects and steals from others.

I love how in the tags and comments, everyone is like “THE HORRORS!!!” Which… yes. <3 But I honestly love playing with the concept of soulmates, but that's also because many of my stories delve into the concept of fate. But being Ace myself, soulmates aren't usually romantic. They're one's second half, the only one who truly and fully understands how the other's mind works, who each has almost a second sense when their “other” is in danger, the one each is forever tied to whether or not they can comprehend how or why it's them who are made for each other. I never thought to use anything like a mark or first words or hands or anything, but my gosh, playing with the concept brings out ALLLL THE DRAMA. I weep, I drool, I laugh. 

Because on the one hand, with so, SO many relationship combos, romantic soulmates are actually pretty rare so while everyone would just love to find that perfect connection, most understand the odds of finding your one true love as your future spouse is unrealistic to strive for. But that doesn't mean you're doomed to be alone, just know that you can still meet someone, fall madly in love, get married, have kids, and still understand that when things get rough, you may both have someone else you storm off to vent at because they understand you well enough to say if you're being crazy or unreasonable or share enough of that connection that the advice (whether good advice or not) cools the internal turmoil and makes you feel like something you probably should have seen or thought of yourself in the heat of the moment. Even in that world, lovers are probably idealized because it sounds like perfection in theory, but anyone who has actually found their soulmate knows even that wouldn't be without conflict. 

Family:

In these worlds, it's probably considered “lucky” when the soulmate turns out to be a family member because those on the outside may gush about how fortunate it must be to have that connection with someone you've known your whole life and save you ~all the trouble~ of searching for that level of bond. But the “lucky” people may not feel so lucky because it both leaves a TON of uncertainty for the future and a sort of bitterness that fate would pair you with a family member giving a feeling of being cut off from some of the joys others have in the discovery. After all, if you’re free to find and marry whoever you want instead of hoping fate will give it to you, it probably feels a little daunting. Like if your other half is a sibling, are you even meant to marry at all? But maybe they realize they don’t want to be with anyone, and can still vent or cry to their loved one about any other life’s troubles. Like I’m sure as a teen there would be some disgust while everyone is wondering if their classroom crush is “the one” there’s this kid over here going “ugh, I’m already tied to my mom, how fucking embarrassing” and trying to deny it while their friends are like “I wish my parents were so understanding / I wish I could go do all those fun things every weekend with my mom…” and no, no you don’t. But honestly having a sibling, parent, cousin, aunt, uncle, may be appreciated further down the line. 

This can cause a bit of tensions though with the rest of the family like feeling left out (if its between two siblings and a third sibling just doesn’t fit in), favoritism, maybe the other parent swears sometimes they’re always the bad guy or being teamed up on because the other and child have that sort of shared interest or mindset for mischief, the parents upset that kid is so much closer with other relative that didn’t raise them and seems to light up whenever they visit. Maybe one sibling is on bad terms with the rest of the family or in denial and desperate to get away only to have their other sibling somehow be the one to track them down and try to reason with them. How did they know where to find them? It’s just a feeling they had they knew where they’d go. If things with the family are really bad, the siblings may even leave together if they can convince each other, but how that affects the rest of the family is open for some heartache or bitterness. 

Best Friends: 

We all know the trope of found family and such, but sometimes the person you’re meant to be with does feel like you could be related when finding that perfect match. It’s not always like an instant click (just like love at first sight is uncommon) but there’s a certain point when hanging out that people really do look at these two and tease how they must be separated at birth, secretly lovers, or have just spent WAY too much time together because appear to share the same brain cell. Friendships are a little more tricky though, because there’s a lot of people one can be friends with, and even close with, but just like with lovers, how do you know THIS friend is the one who’s there forever even if you sometimes drift apart? And it’s a bit of weird line because if a pair does sync up that well and feel like they complete each other, there’s probably the outside pressure that maybe they SHOULD get married and move in together and be perfect and… no. They’re just friends, practically siblings, something “more” than siblings if that’s even possible, but they don’t love each other like that. In fact, it’s perfectly normal in this world for each half of this pairing to marry others but the spouses are in no way surprised when these two disappear for a “girls night out”, camping trips, road trips to sporting events, over at one house or the other almost constantly, meeting for breakfast every Saturday, or whatever it is they like to do together that spouse may or may not have any interest in. And you know what? That’s great if they have someone they can share all of those things with outside the family to get some time away from it all. But… depending on how it’s handled, just like the BFF can be seen as part of each other’s families, there’s just as much risk of maybe getting disconnected from the family. Spouse getting frustrated about the finances on this hobby, or if it seems like they’re being left home a lot, or if the bros are watching tv in the livingroom while wife is being asked to grab things for them so they don’t have to leave the game, or the spouse starts to wonder if there really is more to it than they’re letting on. What secrets do they share? How does it feel knowing you’re never going to fully understand or have that connection like they do with someone else? However, the funny thing is, if the BFFS are already paired, there’s a good chance the spouses also have soulmates they can go out and do fun things with or spend hours on the phone, or go and vent to about lover’s stupid hobbies when they’re frustrated. That is… if they’ve found theirs yet. Which can also lead to the potential dramas where they find their soulmate after they marry, is it romantic? That’s some internal conflict and red flags right there. And potentially opens the way for fics of BFFs where one is just really helping the other out after their lover left them, or trying to keep them from doing something stupid if they were cheated on. 

Lovers: 

In the off chance someone DOES find that their forever and ever is actually a romantic partner, that still doesn’t mean it’s all rainbows and sunshine. It just means that their sense of communication and predicting each other’s actions is often on point to a level it can be annoying or hilarious depending on what they do with this knowledge. Like surprises might be hard when they know each other so well to guess what they’re planning or would like to do, but it can be funny when one tries to bring up something and other is totally alright with it because they already knew they were going do that. Word of advice before you run off? It’s also nice that whenever outside stuff is getting to them, they can come home to their spouse and having a deep, meaningful conversation and get some advice without being judged too harshly. Maybe it’s about work, maybe it’s just needing some encouragement, maybe it’s being allowed to be fully vulnerable with their partner when no one else is allowed to see that side of them. But my gosh, when a fight breaks out, it’s usually a case of “you’re both being stupid, stop it” as any of their friends will probably tell them. Because LOVER OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD UNDERSTAND!!! Yes, but BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHY THEY’RE DOING THIS, DOESN’T MAKE IT ANY LESS RECKLESS / STUPID / PETTY AND THEY’RE TRYING TO REASON WITH THEM!! Synchronized huffing and storming off ensues until they can cool down and come back for the forgiveness and heart to heart. This doesn’t take away from poly-ships, but it does make things a bit more complicated when two in the set are ~fated mates~ but they love the other(s) none the less. The other mate may sometimes feel like a third wheel when it seems like they just don’t share that same connection as the two have, and may run into an argument where one storms off and the other half of the soulmates is like “I’ll calm them down / talk to them” to try to patch things, but that only makes it worse. On the other hand, the polys are fun when exploring all the different reasons they may be in this relationship. Maybe there is a triangle, where the soulmates have that connection, sure, they both fell in love with third member here and are more BFFS with each other. Maybe one member in the relationship is more there for physical affection and doesn’t mind the other two going off to their own activities to feed their interests. Maybe poly already knows their soulmate is someone not a lover (like the previous examples) and falling in love with these two (or more) just sort of happened and they never imagined they could still be so happy. Maybe none of them are soulmates and it’s someone with a family ship, someone with a BFF ship, and someone who hasn’t found theirs yet but it doesn’t matter because they’ve found each other while still able to do things with their pairings outside the group. 

A subcategory of this is naturally the ~fated lovers~ who just have all the obstacles in the way. Maybe someone is in love with one and refuses to acknowledge they’re meant for someone else. Maybe it’s a parent who sees who their kid has fallen in love with and ABSOLUTELY FLIPS OUT because look at this punk. Look at this jerk. Look at this unattainable princess that’s going to get you killed trying to reach. Maybe there’s actual obstacles in the way such as distance or borders or hierarchy. But those are the tales we love to see overcome. 

Odd and Maybe Even Unfair:

I’m not sure of a catch all for this category, but basically these are the mixed blessings to find your soulmate only to have a caveat that makes one want to curse whatever god thought that would be funny. 

Like mentor / student. One the one hand, it’s so nice to see tales of a kid who meets the bitter and lonely teacher who ends up changing each other’s lives. Some level of fate brought them together, and something about THIS kid made the old mentor want to take them in and protect them and teach them all they know and become like a second mother / father to them and the kid may be flustered at first but they keep coming back and learn quickly and soon they’re to fight for this once stranger through thick and thin because they have a connection that can’t be understood. But it’s also… weird. Like usually the mentor in question is middle aged or even old and suddenly they’ve found a companion who gives them life and completes them in a way they haven’t thought was even possible for a long, long time, yet at the same time in a world where these kind of meetings are fate, I’m certain there’s a level of swearing at the gods why the mentor should only find such companionship so late. They may have long since given up on ever finding a soulmate or feel like they’ve lived their whole life already getting married, having kids, kids out of the house (usually with a strained relationship in these stories that new kid helps them fix) and NOW the gods have sent them someone to bond with? Not ten, twenty, fifty years ago when they could have enjoyed it? And to have it be someone half, a third, a fourth their age when they find them?? Or the kid to realize while they have someone who they may relate to better than their own family, it’s someone less than ideal, heck total stranger when they met, and likely someone they’re going to outlive. Maybe the outside forces find this weird too. Why does kid keep going to mentor’s place? Is it like a neighbor or gym or after school? Maybe it started as a job but the job is over. Maybe their friends and family don’t like the influence mentor is having on them (like a gang not sure about punishment turning into member is planning on leaving now that mentor has helped them clean up, a parent who thinks what they’re learning is fine as a hobby but now it’s going too far with them wanting to make a career of it, maybe they don’t like the skill being taught in general, ect) In a similar vein is the “suddenly parent” situations where they may have been brought together by crisis, maybe the kid just lost EVERYTHING, and now the adult is flipping out internally because they felt an immediate need to help the kid, but now what? They… have a kid now, as granted to them by fate. Or they have outside obstacles telling them even if they did feel that sudden need to look after them, they need to get back to their family / be turned over to the authorities / go back where they belong but, but, but… … … 

Doomed lovers could be in the above category, but it’s a whole different level of cursing at the gods to have your soulmate only to be ripped apart. Why would they deem you should find your forever and ever only to have it be so short? How are you supposed to keep going when it feels like a part of your soul has died? This may even be on the other side of the cheating coin where it’s not death that keeps them apart but what are they supposed to do if they only found each other too late? When family complications have gotten in the way or old age or when just passing through a city and found a local you’re soon to be ten thousand miles away from? Sure fate deems that everyone will meet their soulmate once in their life, but must it only be this once? What about the enemies to lovers where the love is forbidden by family / country / societal ties and even if they’ve realized they complete each other, they also realize all their meetings may have to be in secret or risk their life for it? Is such a love even worth risking life and limb for? 

Then of course is the complete opposite of the BFFS where they’re not lovers, and don’t become lovers either, but outright nemesis. Different from the enemies to lovers, they genuinely despise each other and just CAN’T figure out why their paths keep crossing unless one is in pursuit of the other. And even then, how does pursuer keep finding them?? Because they know each other, OHHHHH they know each other so well, they could dangerous if they weren’t two sides of the same coin. If one could just convince the other they should be on the same side…. But which side will give in first? The hero to become a villain or the villain to start to redeem themselves? Is there even a hero / villain dynamic or are they both just haughty and dysfunctional and seem evenly matched even as it pisses each other off? Why, WHY would the gods give them a soulmate who shares all of their same interests and seems to understand their mindset but has a twisted perspective when making it sound reasonable when moral compass says it shouldn’t be? Sometimes such a quandary can lead to obsession since they’re attracted to each other and yet it’s maddening that the ONE PERSON IN THE WORLD who fully and truly understands them is someone they can’t stand. 

And of course the “we found them, but at what cost?” Because yes fate has a funny way of getting them together across great distance or across hierarchy or any other circumstance brought up before. But what kind of crazy twist did one have to take to end up there? Like meeting someone in a new land after being forced to flee their home, or tales where they’re part of a captured collective and at least they’ve found companionship or even love to pull them through the ordeal until they can get out of the situation, or maybe they only met because one got badly injured / wounded and found the one to help them / heal them is their destined mate. What of those who only discovered their soulmate after dropping a societal tier due to finances or politics stripping them of their original position? But, um, silver lining, they found something better? 

Forced:

Not really a category, but in one particular world I play with this concept the most in, is the terrifying dark art of soulbinding. This is different from soulmates, because it’s completely unnatural, and brought about by ritual. It breaks things for one, where if one were soulbound, how does that damage things with their actual soulmate if they’ve been tied to another? Not to mention, the connection between these two is almost painful because the mental sync is heightened to a point of control. The point of this practice isn’t for humans though. It’s a means to capture the gods themselves, or try at least, often with terrible consequences. Usually in that the gods don’t take lightly to this and will try to use that tether to take control of the fool arrogant enough to try to command their power. In ancient days it was used as a last resort as a sort of sacrifice to the gods that this puppet be used to harness their power for the sake of the people or the lands, thinking that one who was soulbound actually lost their soul and would die when the vessel was no longer needed, but it was only a matter of time before someone tried to test that to its limits. There’s also a ritual that requires three people, with two being soulbound by The Entity, which in effect also ties to them to each other, and a third who is charged by fate with severing the power when the time is right, but there’s only one surviving case where we see that the tie is never really gone; either to each other, or their secret power source even if the power imbued is greatly diminished. This is the only time marks come up, but it’s not a mark that shows their fate, it’s the mark left by the gods that shows they’ve been taken.

This is way too long, but ahhhhh the strings. Strings everywhere it seems.

no on had ever thought that sharing would be a thing amongst the weird, scary, dominant four-person-group of bikers that practically ran santa carla's boardwalk. they seemed, just by looking at them for simply five seconds, like the type of guys that were possessive over shit that was theirs; very not willingly to share even a smidge of a piece of cotton candy with anybody, because keeping what was theirs out of anyone else's reach was just in their veins. so, when the two most dangerous male's of the group took an extreme liking to one of the newest people on the boardwalk one night, it was quite the surprise to see them both glued by the person's side within a small period of three months.

“ do you two ever behave? ” y/n asked one faithful night, two weeks after the three of them had began dating; chin perched onto the heel of their palm as their eyes went back and forth between both of the blondes that sat across from them. david, the eldest, who sported a bleach blonde mullet that was pretty short yet fit him perfectly, stopped pestering marko as he heard the question rise from his lover's lips. his icy blue colored eyes drifted over to them, as a amused smirk lifted onto his lips; amusement clouding his gaze. “ no, doll - not necessarily. ”

although the nickname david acquainted them with was rather irritating at th start, they had gotten used to it over time; actually seeming to melt like snow on a hot day, whenever the word left his mouth. “ I do, ” marko, y/n's other partner, who had a long and noodle-y curled dirty blonde mullet, spoke up beside the other male; glaring half-heartedly at the leader as he knocked the other's lingering hand away from his mess of hair. “ so don't rope me in with you, jackass. ”

a small pitch of laughter threatened to spill through, but y/n held it back; settling to roll their (dark/light/medium) specs instead. “ will you guys stop? people are starting to stare. ” as they said that, a rather judgey couple walked past, staring the three down while both david and marko intensely looked back at them. marko even decided to grin wickedly and mockingly wave, just to get a rise out of the snobby looking guy holding the innocent looking gal's, hand.

“ so what if they stare, ” david finally replied, turning his attention back onto his favored person, eyes holding slight seriousness to them. “ let them - its not hurting us. it's only making them look like nosey bastards. ”

he was right, they knew that. but they didn't exactly love attention. while marko loved being able to catch the eyes of others with his cat-like smile and mischief filled stunts, and david enjoyed making people nearly piss themselves just by his presence alone, y/n hated grabbing others' judgement. they felt pressured to do something fascinating, or even felt as if their looks weren't good enough for the public. it was bothersome, a trait they hated, but they couldn't help it. david knew that though, which is why he constantly tried to pull his partner out of their particular zone of comfort; to help them.

maybe it did make them uncomfortable and sometimes scared, but david thought of it as a way of helping y/n overcome their anxieties. even if it did involve over stepping boundaries.

“ I wouldn't worry about these cheese heads, babe. ” marko snapped them out of their intrusive thoughts, causing them to look away from the bleach-blonde's continuous gaze. “ they're just looking for a reason to get involved in our business. ” the hazel-eyed maniac grinned at them, before sliding a cheese fry in his mouth; chewing down instantly. “ after all, we're all anyone's ever talking about. so don't sweat it; they're mad they can't be with us like your sexy ass can, and is. ”

swallowing softly, they hesitantly nodded, still rather skeptical about the whole ordeal. both david and marko noticed it, but said nothing. they could discuss the matter later - for now, marko wanted y/n to have fun, and david had his mind set on having a semi-romantic night; just the three of them.

“ come on, ” marko stood up from his place at the wooden picnic table the three of them sat at, only to exit his place and walk over to the nearest trash can. after dumping the remaining fries into the garbage, he returned; the smirk on his face sly looking while green-ish orbs screamed havoc. “ the night's still young, beautiful darling of mine; we should make the most of it. ”

y/n narrowed their eyes playfully at the trouble maker of a blonde. “ you wanna piss of the security again, don't you? ”

david, quietly, switched his gaze off between the two individuals; a slight grin of his own lingering on freshly cigarette tasting lips. “ maybe, ” marko spoke, while offering his leader a small glance. “ but you'll never find out if you don't get your ass up off of that bench. ”

questioning eyes shifted to david, but all the cocky vampire did was shrug; leaving their answer a mystery for the next minute.

“ alright.. ” they mumbled, finally, before sighing and throwing a lazy leg over the side of the bench. “ but if we get thrown off the boardwalk again, I'm shoving your face into the sand. ”

just as marko said ‘ deal ’, david got up from his seat; pocketing a hand into his tuxedo-themed jacket, while the other wrapped around the shoulders of his now standing, partner. “ let's go. I don't want to be around our food any longer than I have to. ”

“ alright, alright! but question. should we pour sand down that annoying security guard's pants after we drench him in water, or vise versa? ”

“ marko, shut the hell up and walk. ”

slopes is a fantastic episode. sunny doesn't take the gang out of the bar often and so when they do it usually creates a very fun, upbeat one off episode, such as water park, the big game episode, jersey shore, etc. it's a big deal! this episode does not fall flat in terms of a little gang outting. are you kidding me?? an 80s sports movie parody? incredible. they pulled it off super well. all of the ways they make fun of it with the "i don't care. we're only here two days." and the announcer stuff and the ski dude being pathetic and disappointing. hilarious. if you disagree with me on this point consider that fast times at ridgemont high was my favorite movie for several months. spicolli charlie with a bagel in your pants come back to me.

okay. this episode has some of the funniest lines that never fail to crack me up. "his ankles are broken for sure" "oh they're surely broken!". classic. pathetic dennis. creepy dennis? tryhard dennis? where the hell did he get a whole ski crew dennis. dennis agreeing with charlie (iirc) about the candy mountain miniature.

"i fracked the mountain" as a frankgirl i absolutely love this episode. this is peak frank. causing mischief for a profit. destroying the environment. love it. always gets me.

here's something. i like how disgusted the gang is with the lame guy at the end. i'm sorry i forgot his name. and i'm lazy. you know the guy. it shows how they are all horrible people but they Do have limits. albeit limits that.. should have showed up a little earlier. perhaps that is out of character for them. i disagree. eh. it's interesting to have the dude off the rails not be in the gang for once. maybe that's what people dislike about the episode?

love the way they make fun of the announcer stuff. and charlie being the straight man about it. and then going uh nvm bro! when it starts to work for him. feels pretty classic sunny a la we're a gay bar now! but while also feeling like not another teen movie. or whatever that parody was. (great movie. btw).

alright. let's talk about the elephant in the room. charlie sex scene. listen. i'm tired of pretending this ruins the episode for me (i'm jk i don't think i've ever pretended that). i'm not only a charlie woobifier but also a charlie sexualizer and it's hot. i do think he would do the :D face the whole time. that does not ruin it for me at all. the scene is gratuitous and gauche and excessive and so so stupid and excessive and it makes me blush and cringe and yet... damn baby...

remember early in the podcast when they were talking about like, if you break your leg filming you better fucking continue filming because you broke your goddamn leg for that. well. i'm deeply disappointed of course if that scene was filmed outside of the actors' comfort zones. and i don't think they should necessarily do something like that again. but, they did it, and it's in an episode, so... you know. let's leave it in. anyways all things considered? the saxophone part is very hot. i think it could have been very tasteful to skip all the fucking and just cut to the sax part. it's the best part of the whole thing by far ///>w<\\\

not to mention i think a charlie romance/fling plot is fun. idk. i mean there's the argument that he Wouldn't Do That and that's absolutely fair, but also, this is kind of an au, i don't think any of them can actually ski in the show, it's just for funsies. charlie getting the hot model while dennis gets his ankles broken is hilarious. the hot tub scene is amazing. charlie climbing into the tub fully dressed is very hot. i think charlie is enough of a jerk that if a hot lady flung herself at him and he was frustrated anyways he would be pretty down. sorry for being a horndog charlie truther. i genuinely love all other opinions and takes though. none of my headcanons are really serious. i'm playing both sides etc.

anyways listen. i think slopes is a good episode. if it wasn't for the sexy part this would be the sort of episode i'd show ppl new to sunny cause it's hilarious and it looks pretty good and its lighthearted. ohh boo hoo it's not plot relevant fuck off. if every episode was dennis' double life or mfhp this show would have been cancelled a decade ago. i do not watch this show for plot. i watch it cause it's funny. any cool plot is just a bonus. slopes was good.

Aight to get this started, have this idea that I thought was really funny 💀

I can really see them getting lost for some reason. These two combined would lead into questionable events for sure. They need supervision, otherwise they're gonna microwave spoons together 💀

But anyway, to the point! No matter who it is, Seph would always try to befriend them, and Eloise is no exception!

Eloise is definitely the type of person that Seph would like to get along with since she just matches her energy! Maybe they can microwave more eggs together /j
