#maya was misunderstood as her wanting the actors never to be criticized

RE the whole critics debate, I'm not completely with Maya on this. I can't put all my thoughts in the ask box, but her main point seemed to be that reviewers are too critical of actors and I don't agree with that. SH eg may have debatable reviewing skills, but I wouldn't say they are relentlessly mean to any actor. SH praised Maya a lot in JBG and criticized her for PSM which I thought was fair. I would say same for Fuchsia. Don't watch Amma reviews so can't say about them.
the thing is Maya's statement was misinterpreted as her pointing out the few "big reviewing" platforms whereas I first heard her make a similar statement back in 2016 just when Diyar e Dil had finished airing (and YT reviewing platforms were still a thing of the future then). the platforms took it personally while Maya was talking about ALL kinds of negativity that she was subjected to for her weaker performances by every person commenting from the comfort of their homes without any regard of how their harsh words could affect the person they were addressed to. she has never been against constructive criticism, in fact she has always been welcoming for that. she has stated on record that constructive criticism has made her want to do better and learn from the mistakes she made. it's just the trolling and extreme negativity wrapped in the guise of "reviews" that she objects to. didn't Hassan say in his defense that they've been doing this since 2018 and Maya retorted that she's been working as an actor for 10 years now? she was drawing from her own experience that she has accumulated over the decade and making a general statement about it, that's all. COULD she have worded it better? definitely. but that's just how Maya is. heart in the right place, the words not always supporting it.
