I'm so self-conscious about posting art anymore because it always ends up part of a chaotic sketch pile that makes no sense... unfortunately these drawings end up being the ones I love the most 😭

a sequel (kind of) to Stay
you see Ran again for the first time in 10 years after he left home.
it's a Wednesday night in Shinjuku, when you are out shopping for a new scarf and window shopping on some possible presents for Christmas. it's particularly chilly today and the streets are more packed than usual 一 probably because the festive season is coming up (very soon) and people are out shopping just like you.
and then you see him, out the window of Family Mart when you were browsing for some rice balls as a snack. he's still so tall, a lot fitter now, and he's got a new haircut you didn't think he would actually go for, but you still recognise him nonetheless. the mole on his neck close to his Adam's apple and the many rings he still wears on his fingers makes you smile. he still likes to sit cross legged despite your nagging for him to stop from a slip disc many, many years ago.
Nii-chan is still the same.
you grab a bottle of Ayataka off the shelf and a box of chocolate you think works just fine. you ask the employee for a pen and rip a sticky note off the Post-It you like carrying with you.
/
Ran smells something familiar.
he blows out the smoke from his mouth and puts the cigarette a little further from him to sniff the air a few times. it gets stronger, and then a pair of ballet flats appear in his view on the floor.
"Haitani Ran?"
his world stops spinning.
"it is you!" you grin. "i wasn't sure because of your..." you want to say silly as a tease. "new, haircut."
you catch the way he tries to discreetly put away the cigarette and stomps on it, leaves his foot there to keep anymore smell from spreading, gently fanning the air around to get the smell away. he thinks it's cute that you are trying to talk to him without making it obvious that you know each other very closely, like blood.
you play with your fingers when he doesn't say a thing, but his eyes shift lower, lower, and lower, and then he sees it.
the bump on your belly, and a little girl hiding behind your legs, holding a bunny that drowns him in so much nostalgia the moment he laid eyes on it.
"oh! she's my neighbour's kid. i'm looking after her tonight, her parents aren't around."
he knows it's a lie 一 of course he does, and you know he knows. she shares so much resemblance with you two together. "Mama, don't lie." her tiny voice is muffled with your dress and you panic, trying to laugh it off and stop her from fussing, and he laughs quietly.
you introduce her then. Maya, you say. she is 4, and a very stubborn girl. she likes bunnies and the colour red. she's got a sharp mouth and very into space.
"here," you grab the Ayataka and Meiji from your bag and hand it to him. "please take it. we haven't seen each other in so long, count it as my treat tonight." you smile warmly, the crescents of your eyes making him feel at peace, and he takes it from your hands.
he looks at the box you played with a while ago and finds a piece of paper slipped into it with the chocolate itself.
"it's okay," he makes a motion around you both with his index finger. "he's clear," he nudges his chin to a man sitting in a black, shiny Bentley parked a few metres away, and he is watching all of you intensely. there is another woman sitting in the passenger fixing her lipstick through a Dior pocket mirror. "but thank you."
when you wave goodbye and make little Maya say goodnight, he gets into his car and opens the box of chocolate, fishing for the piece of paper out.
he sees that it's not just a paper, but an ultrasound 一 a foetus at six months old 一 and he flips it to the back.
'For Uncle Ran.'
/
Rindou is busy washing the dishes when you wrap your arms around his waist unexpectedly.
"what's got you so happy? you sound kinda insane." he asks. oh, right. you've been giggling to yourself ever since he came back home and Maya was begging for her Dad to pick her up in near tears because she thinks Mom is being weird.
"no, it's nothing." you cover your mouth and try to stop yourself from laughing any more. you're still smiling, though. "it's just..."
"i saw Nii-chan today."
he freezes. "really?"
"yeah. and you know what else i saw?" a laugh.
"he cut his hair," you make Rindou face you and show him just how short it was with your own hair, "this short!" another laugh.
"you remember the last time i tried to make him cut his hair? he locked himself in his room the whole day because i picked up a pair of scissors! i was going to open a bag of chips!"
"and, he was in a suit. it looked expensive, and it's purple. he hated wearing suits. i can't believe that man got him to wear one now."
you go on and on laughing about Ran to Rindou, the dishes long forgotten in the sink. the younger listens and laughs with you.
and if you would've taken the time to stop laughing like a maniac and look out the window to your right, you'd see the same Bentley parked right outside your apartment complex with the windows rolled down.
Ran smiles whenever the two of you would laugh.
next to the window of your kitchen is a little girl standing in front of her own. one hand holding a bunny, the other holding her weight as she leans on the glass a little.
and she waves. shows him her bunny and then her snaggle-tooth that she actually hates, but adores now that the purple-haired man who looks a lot like her father shows off his own to her.
"Maya... and Sana," he whispers. "yeah. that's nice."
you've always been a fan of these two names when you were younger, almost having change your government name to one of it out of impulse.
and the car leaves just when little Maya waves goodbye and waddles away.
"Merry Christmas, you three."

Exelor
Chapter II - Something is terribly wrong here.
Tumblr media
Hey together!
Here is the next part! Now it gets much more intenser as the Enterprise landing party discovers something unbelievable..
Chapter I
Masterlist
Please leave me some fb if you didn´t mind. ;)
@bold-brave-courageous @allthetrek @reeselivesforeverinmyheart
The capital of Exelor was truly not a beautiful place. Ensign Freeman explained to me, it was exactly the standard construction of the Federation, although the planet was quite a pleasant place. I used the time until our arrival to make myself acquainted with the history of our mission aim. By that time, the colony had been formed because Exelor, a M class planet, had vast mineral deposits, a colorful cocktail of everything the Federation and especially Starfleet needed to function. This, however, was also the problem, the restrictions and rules that governed the trade and so they had won their independence to do and leave what they thought was right and of course most profitable. We arrived at a dead end, one-family houses stood around the insert, one as bleak as the other. "We should split up." Mayas nodded to me and I followed the doctor to one of the houses. One of our security guards followed us.
"Zimmer, may I ask you something?" "Of course, Mam." I swallowed slightly. "What do you think of this?" She drew a circle around her. "What do you mean?" "Isn´t it funny?" Mayas knocked softly on the door, gently pressed against it and it opened. "This is not the first medical crisis I'm experiencing, but here." She shook her head. "It's too quiet." "Well, people are sick or scared." Carefully, I followed her, my hand on my phaser, wondering for a moment about myself doing this. "I have no experience with the Andorian flu, but if it is only half as enjoyable as the Terran, I can understand that good." "Oh it is." She swiftly with her tongue. "Maybe I just need a shore leave." I gave her a smile, then she made me understand that I should go upstairs, she began to look around the lower floor. Slowly I went up the stairs and stopped. Again, it was terribly dismal, even my quarters on the Enterprise was personally furnished. A noise forced my attention to the left. "Hello?" I started moving and followed what I thought was crying. "Does anyone need help here?"
My heart was beating to my throat, a strange feeling in my stomach and my hand closed so tightly around the handle of my phaser that it hurt. Carefully I circled around the corner and had to pull myself together, that I didn´t exhale too relieved. On a bed a young woman, maybe my age, crouched a baby in her arms. She cried and rocked her upper body slightly back and forth. "Oh God." I turned quickly. "Dr. Mayas!"
In a few steps I was at the two, let my backpack from the shoulders and went to my knees next to the woman. "Can you hear me?" I put my gloved hand on her forehead. Even through the fabric I could feel that she was glowing. Her eyes were glassy, her breathing was heavy.
"Do you tell me your name?" "Juliana Narrows." She was hotter. "Who?" "I'm Cathrin Zimmer from the USS Enterprise." I smiled at her, then turned to the baby. Also it was hot but fortunately still alive. "We are here to help you." "Go away." Powerless, she lifted her arm and tried to push me away. "The others have already said that and now!" She began to sob. "My baby dies because of the medicine they gave her!" "I really don´t want to hurt you!" I put my hands on her shoulders. "What did they give you?" "Those, the paramedics who were here yesterday. They gave her pills and then. "She swallowed hard again. "Then she got a fever, didn´t want to eat and nobody comes to help us!"
What the hell was going on here? I looked over my shoulder as I heard someone approach. Mayas came to us and her trained eyes surveyed the situation immediately. "Both?" She put down her bag and pulled the tricorder off her belt "At least I thought the kids had been vaccinated?" Narrows jerked back as Mayas began examining her. "Cathrin can you take the baby?" "Of course." I moved to the other side of the bed and stretched out my arms. "Juliana, give me the little one." "No, you take her away from me!" Desperately, she looked at me. "Please don´t take her away!" "I will not take her away from you." Carefully, I put my arms around the baby. "I'm just holding her until Dr. Mayas examined you.” I nodded encouragingly to her and after a few seconds of hesitation she gave me the baby. "Okay." I smiled at her and then looked at the baby. Something was wrong with this picture. "Okay, you have the flu." Mayas loaded a hypospray and pressed it to her patient's neck. "Then let's have a look at her baby." She lifted the tricoder, but I could see from her gaze that the same thoughts passed through her mind as mine. No doubt this baby was sick and we were just as certain that it didn´t have the same illness as his mother. Shortly thereafter, the scan confirmed our guess. "The baby doesn´t have the same." "How could that be?" I watched as the doctor checked the scans manually again. "Two epidemics at once? Moreover, two such similar? " "So you noticed." She didn´t look at me, instead she examined the kid's throat. "Explain."
"The infections are similar, but while she's clearly suffering from a respiratory infection, the baby seems to be suffering from something that attacks the immune system." "Go on." Now she looked at me briefly.
"And it's quick." I looked around for a moment, then at my supervisor. "She told me there was someone here yesterday giving medicine to the child so it wouldn´t get sick." "Oral vaccines are not uncommon." "I know, but if we assume it was not like that, it's something." "Infectious." She twitched her eyebrows. "That's a terrifying incubation period and an extremely fierce course." "What are we doing?" I looked at the heavily breathing baby in my arms. "We bring both to the Enterprise." "Doctor!" Chris's words came to my mind. "That doesn´t correspond to the orders we have." "I know." But before she could talk any further, our communicators beeped and since I had my hands full she answered. "Dr. Mayas here! " "Here Dr. Boyd, we'll go back to the Enterprise, inform your people and then get out of here." "Sir, we barely started and Zimmer and I came across inconsistencies here." "Yeah, so am I." Even through the bad connection, you could hear how Boyd hit this condition on the stomach. "We have slipped into something that we cannot judge. The order comes directly from the Captain."
"Understood." Mayas pressed a few buttons on her communicator. "Mayas to External Team 2 prepare for beaming, at your discretion." She looked at me and though I barely knew her, I knew what was going through her mind. "That means trouble Mam." I looked at the mother, then at the child in my arms, then at her again. "Fuck it."
"Dr. Mayas to Enterprise. "She grabbed her backpack and then helped the woman onto her shaky legs. "Signal to my position, four to beam."
******
"What am I going to do with both of you now?" Mayas and I exchanged a look, then we gazed at Dr. Boyd. Instead of looking at us, his eyes were fixed on the baby in his arms. "What are we going to do with the two, mmh?" He smiled at the child, then gave us his attention. "So, who had the idea?" He nodded toward the baby's mother, who slept in a biobed next to us.
"It was mine, Sir." Mayas straightened up a bit. "It is entirely my responsibility." "Zimmer?" Boyd glanced at me. "Sir, I supported this suggestion." Denial was useless anyway. Boyd arrived at the Enterprise two seconds after us and the gaze as he had seen us two with the two inhabitants of the colony had spoken volumes. I still wondered that he had not exploded right on the spot.
"Yes." He grinned at the baby again, the little girl just reached out her hand to him. "Yes, I would have bet on that." "Phil, what should we have done?" The doctor grabbed a PADD and stepped next to him. "Both were in a catastrophic state." "I know." Boyd beckoned me to him, then he hugged the baby in my arms and I started rocking it a bit. "All the patients I've seen in that short period have had either the mother's or baby's symptoms." He sighed, suddenly looking twenty years older. "No doubt she has the Andorian flu, but the kid." Boyd stroked the baby over its head. "The little girl has something completely different." "You know what it is?" I stared at him. "I have a guess, yes, and if that turns out to be true." Behind us, something beeped and Boyd went to the station. He paused for a few seconds, then turned.
"Phil?" Mayas also came up to him, read the results and turning also pale. "For the love of mother and child." "What's happening?" Dr. Boyd waved me over, called something up, and then looked at me.
"In the Federation, all kinds of biological weapons are banned, outlawed, and just a matter of researching is a serious crime." Suddenly, I felt suck, and it got worse when he called up the girl's blood count. "I suspected it from the first moment, but I was not given the opportunity to investigate." Boyd looked at me. "The little one is the proof. In addition to the flu, large parts of the population were poisoned with a bacterium. " I looked at the baby. "Must she die?" "No, we can handle that well, she's already fitter than when she arrived. It is a particularly perfidious epidemic. Intended to weaken, demoralize the population." "Do we have to worry about being infected?" Mayas was still absorbed in the notes. "It will not be transmitted through the air, that would also weaken the attacking troops." "But why do they do that?" The baby fell asleep slowly.
"Exelor is independent, we have no idea what they are doing or with whom they have gotten themselves." Boyd hurried to a com unit. "This could be anything from an attack to an accident or a trap." He pushed the button.
"Here Dr. Boyd connect me immediately with Captain Pike."
****
Pike closed his communicator, then took a deep breath, opened his mouth, then closed it again because he was literally missing the words. "Sir, surely that's a mistake?" Lt. Commander Dumar stared at him. "Dr. Boyd makes no mistakes. "Spock looked around. "Not in such things, anyway." "Bioweapons?" Dumar's eyes widened. "I have not heard of any case in which they were used. Not since the last World War. "
"We should not jump to conclusions." Pike looked at his officers. "This warfare agent was developed from a naturally occurring bacterium. Before imposing war crimes on the people here, we need to be sure that it's not just a chain of unfortunate coincidences. "
He hoped that they would buy it for him, because inside it seethed in him. If that proves true, then it wouldn´t matter if Exelor was a member of the Federation or not, those responsible would experience the full severity of the judiciary and it could also mean the end of the colony. Before Spock could object, or Dumar continued to speak quickly, he set off and headed for the governor's office. He ignored the panicked secretary, as well as the security guard, who for a moment thought he might face the Starfleet officers.
A look from Pike was enough and he changed his mind. Chris knocked, but didn´t wait for him to be called in, instead he pushed the door open and saw Sforza shoot up from his chair. "Captain Pike, what do you allow yourself?" "What I allow me, Governor?" Chris pulled himself up in front of him, a menacing glint in his eyes. If there was something he really didn´t like at all, it was when you approached him. "Think carefully what you want to audition for next, because you have no idea what kind of trouble you´re charging up here." Sforza's lips tightened, then he nodded to his completely disbanded assistant that she should leave him alone with the officers. As soon as she closed the door, he collapsed in his chair.
"I already asked myself how long it would take you to notice." "Excuse me?" Dumar stepped out from behind the captain. "You knew about it?" "Commander." Chris glared at him, enough to put him in his place. "Sir." "Governor, you owe me an explanation and not just me, but Starfleet, the Federation." He propped himself up at the desk with one hand, the other pointed out toward the main street. "You´ve lured us here under false pretenses, you've taken advantage of a humanitarian crisis to pull Starfleet into something which is non of our business, and now you have to live with the consequences, Sforza!" Pike took a moment to breathe. "You have five minutes, then I will inform the High Command."
"You're clearly overstepping your competencies here Captain Pike!" Somewhere, Sforza found some rest of his authority, straightened up and tried to look Chris as angry as he did. "What would the Federation have done if we had officially asked them for help in a matter that we had ourselves incinerated?"
"They would have sent appropriate help." Spock fixed the politician. "Followed by an invasion fleet." "So you're thinking about us governor?" Dumar couldn´t stay quiet any longer.
"We're sitting here on one of the largest dilicium deposits in the entire quadrant, we've long since withdrawn from the influence of the Federation and Starfleet, and now we've got involved with the wrong people." Sforza sighed. "Yes, that's what some think about the Federation and there are a few who want to violently enforce their opinions and views. Most of the population, however, hopes that you are our salvation from a mess that we have not seen for some time. "
"With all due respect, Governor, we are not here to get you out of domestic chaos, that you have got themselves into trouble. We are here because you are fighting two diseases here, one of which represents a biological warfare agent that has been banned since the early days of the Federation. "Chris didn´t fail to notice that Sforza became even paler at these words than he already was.
"What do you mean?" "An infection with Siofra bacteria." Spock discarded a PADD on the desk. "These are the first analyzes of our chief physician. In fact, you have a threatening outbreak of Andorian influenza, but also an epidemic with those same bacteria that are not naturally occurring in this way. "
"Thanks, Mr. Spock." Pike nodded to him. "Well, I hear." "In everything that is sacred to me and to you, Captain Pike." Sforza looked at him and an unmistakable tingle in Chris neck told him that the next one was not good news. "I swear to you, I knew nothing about that." "Who is responsible for that?" He didn´t get the answer anymore. The next thing he heard was a gigantic explosion, then the city's big alarm, before the next few hours sank into blood, violence and chaos.

7 Fitspirational Quotes To Motivate You This Year
It’s a new year, which means we are seeing a lot of new faces here at Spunk Fitness. No complaints here; we love welcoming new members to our health club! Whether you are looking to lose fat or pack on muscle, a gym membership with Spunk Fitness means that you will be in a supportive community that wants you to succeed. Are you in need of a little motivation to keep working towards your goals? We’re happy to help! Here are some fitspirational quotes to keep you striving towards your resolutions this new year.
“Every journey begins with a single step.” - Maya Angelou
If you have a long way to go towards your fitness goal, it may seem daunting. However, just because you have a long road ahead of you, doesn’t mean you won’t get there. Right now, all you have to focus on is taking the steps necessary to move towards your goal, one step at a time. Start with one, and go from there.
“Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take towards reaching that goal.” - Unknown
Many people make the mistake of believing that they can’t be proud of and love themselves until they have become the best version of themselves. However, this is not the right attitude to have. In order to succeed, you need to love yourself for trying; otherwise, it is impossible to stay motivated. Be proud of yourself for your efforts, not just your results.
“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” - Jim Ryun
When you are first starting a new fitness routine, it’s easy to go to the gym because you have the motivation. However, over time, motivation tends to peeter out, which is why so many people quit their New Year’s resolutions by February. While you have the motivation, make your fitness into a habit. For the first few weeks, allow yourself no excuses to skip the gym. If you are there every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, it will just become part of your routine to go. By the time motivation runs out, you can rely on habit getting you there.
“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” - Henry Ford
When it comes to meeting goals, your attitude is everything. If you believe in yourself and have faith in your ability to accomplish them, you can do it. If you are always thinking negatively about yourself and your abilities, then you won’t be able to accomplish your goal. Adopt a positive attitude and you will see much greater success than you would have had you need pessimistic.
“You dream. You plan. You reach. There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But with hard work, with belief, with confidence and trust in yourself and those around you, there are no limits.” - Michael Phelps
Along your fitness journey, there will be struggles. You may have people in your life who aren’t supportive, or circumstances that make it difficult to work towards your goals. You will not be perfect. But if you stay dedicated, work hard, and keep confident, you can accomplish anything.
“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” - Michael Jordan
Everyone dreams of being fitter, stronger, and/or healthier, but not everyone goes for it. If you want to be one of the people who actually achieves their goals, you have to take steps to actually make it happen. Instead of wanting and wishing, take action.
“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” - Earl Nightingale
Many people feel overwhelmed by the amount of time it is going to take to accomplish their goal. After all, if you want to lose 30 pounds, it isn’t going to happen overnight. However, just because it is going to take a while, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth your time to try. Whether or not you put in the effort to lose the weight, the time will pass. Would you rather that you spent that time working as hard as you can, or sitting on the couch?
Ready to get fit this year? Spunk Fitness can help! Contact our health club today to start moving towards your resolutions.

He didn't quite understand the weird patting gesture atop of his head, but it didn't seem to distract him either way when he was speaking. He was just assuming that's what people did when they were trying to attend another's hair - though not even he could get it to fix even considering the fact his entire head used to be all bandages before he only narrowed it to his face. Given that it was like a shell anyhow, he never thought to bother with it as much as Maya had chose to. He did go quiet though after his little ramble, certainly did it come to par and show that even the entity could over share details without knowing and being aware. Minding, the biorhythm nature made him awfully easy to manipulate if you put the right person next to him of course. Like a vague weakness... Varro shook his head. "I don't mind. I've seen some twisted things in here, what here I feel bothered? The alligator is pretty though." Of course he'd find 682 pretty. But it wasn't like Varro used the word ugly to describe anything though either. "Personally, people overreact it seems. It's not even that shocking, I've seen myself." Talking like a human being might've came off as uncanny - though Varro would probably revert back to himself, though the pace of communication seemed to have a slight change on his nature. It was perhaps more hope.
"Parents." He vaguely stated after she finished speaking. Though it might've come off a potential surprise that he understood without her having to say, but neither did he leave it there. Considering that even those who's dreams he's invaded, he'd even learned of personal problems upon the subconscious faces. "Their concept is hardly rational of existence, what defining trait is there to bear if they do not sustain every box of need that a little one requires? Such standards are impossible. I'm not even perfect and I'm beyond human and-- what may else." He shrugged, despite his status as a reality bender, he didn't quite understand the concept of ego even. But just with her honesty on the topic, Varro had nothing to offer but honesty in return. "Lios said the same thing about me. I don't quite get it, though maybe it's been that way for too long? I don't know actually. Which is why he said that's why nobody likes me." The entity slumped, though not dishearteningly. For someone who been around for quite some time, before even being here, still didn't understand. "I won't say I understand your face concept, regarding what sounds like unfair misfortune. I think I'm a better mood fitter than I am fitting in. You know." Wether Maya could see it or not, he waved a hand over his face. No expression each wave. Something Lios taunted him with because no one could see it anyways. Once she placed the hat down, Varro had taken to pick it up - while her steps departed, he was getting up at the same time.
"Ruined?" He questioned, although he didn't quite catch the soft-spoken nature. Varro didn't think much of it, but he slapped his hat on shortly after, although he didn't slip his arms back into the sleeves of his coat either. It might've looked weird. He was listening anyways. "You're better than the majority of anyone I've met. Even if I'm not fully understood- let alone understanding myself." Surely there were others in here that respected him. But none that chose to spend as much time with him, other than Lios, was all Maya. Clearly he had quite a lot to learn though anyways.
eeriestatic:
Varro really didn’t hear anything off regarding the humming, though he didn’t focus on it after he finished. His head raised a bit more, listening to what she had to share regarding it before rubbing the side of his face with an idle hand now. “Well, sometimes I like to actually talk to those in their dreams. Usually you can see who they are as a person in them too sometimes, consciously aware even despite dreams. Or false manifestations of personality of those they end up thinking about if they’re strong enough, it’s easier to feed off of it that way instead of terror feeding. It’s like culling food sources too fast, usually if they act out, I end up acting out too… I may retain human aspects, but I can only manipulate so much of my person to familiarity. My face. My skin. Hands- well, nails. I can’t do that. I noticed it’s the face that seemed to worry them, if they panic, I panic, negative feelings feed mine in a copy… It’s… difficult to explain. But it gets them killed.” It seems that asking certain questions resort to very specific answers, even if it wasn’t as clear. It leaned into the biorhythm talk. “Maybe I’ll show you eventually, seeing how I’m not poking around your head. I don’t have to worry about anything.” So far to say the least, his biorhythm was loose for one; he was almost talking like a normal person. Though once she brought up the other half, he winced a bit with a grunt.
“I think I’d rather say that real life incites violence in real life. Games just sound like… An outlet? I think they’re called. The way you put it earlier or something like that.” Varro leaned his head back more, almost seeking out more of the contact if it were possible. Though he didn’t catch onto the embarrassment, he didn’t think it was at least to go and drop that question on her even. Nevertheless, whether or not he’d understand the struggles in which she shared with him, the entity listened no matter how it was. Though he didn’t give a word yet on the matter, he was processing the information she fed to him, paused all the same but the one thing that brought him out of it for a mere moment was the gentle squeeze at his shoulders, making them flinch. His hand rested against his cheek, squishing it there before he managed I say anything. “Being human sounds too troublesome and difficult if they don’t have any warning. Do they not help you prepare for responsibilities? I thought they worked together, unless that’s no longer so. But then again… I watch these people, it seems unfair. For even other humans. Though I don’t have to work up to appease nobody and sustain myself, I just simply exist. I don’t have anyone. So I can be left alone to my own doing.” Varro abruptly stated, lifting his head away from his hand partially. “But it seems that people who want to be alone are often bothered by others for some reason. Do you think that’s just some kind of reverse effect? I think it’s dumb, and I’m not even human. Though it seems I’ve encountered you. It’s not bad at all.” He shook his head a bit, leaning his head back to look up at her - despite his tone and how it might’ve been, he was genuinely enjoying his time.
It was the first time she’s heard of it coming straight from the horse’s mouth, but she did put two and two together during the time they’ve spent together. The differences in his demeanor from the time they were completely alone to the time they’ve spent around others were hard to miss. Knowing that, she only gave a hum of understanding, but didn’t interrupt him.
In the middle of him talking, as if he were a puppy, she began patting his head as an absentminded, empty gaze stared right through him. There were many things on her mind and she was zoning out, but even then she could hear him loud and clear. Nothing was ignored or overlooked. When she finally snapped out of it, she retreated her hand and smiled at him.
❝You don’t have to show me if you don’t want to. But just like you, I am curious by nature.❞, she admitted, though she at least managed to see a glimpse of it back during the Syo encounter. ❝Those supposed to help you prepare for responsibilities and life in general are usually the ones who brought you into this world in the first place. But what is one supposed to do when their parents expect their child to be nothing but flawless without putting in the effort to assure that said child is provided for, as far as mental health and emotional stability is concerned?❞, she hinted, though it was a vague beginning to a bread crumb trail into her past. Not something she enjoyed talking about. ❝There is no point to life if you feel disconnected from everything and everyone around you. And when you’re someone like me who has trouble connecting to anyone, when you can’t even as much as be left alone because of the people supposed to be helping you pressuring you to fit in and abandon your individuality… Then, you’re better off dead to the world.❞, she admitted rather brightly what others might struggle to say out loud due to a knot in their throat.
While she was talking, she reached up to remove the hat and set it down atop the desk for him to pick up whenever he wanted it back. Then, she circled around the furniture to make her way towards the bed, where she plopped down on the edge of it, holding her hands in her lap.
❝You and the other doofus dragged me here, ruining my peaceful afterlife…❞, she murmured. It might have sounded spiteful if not for her soft-spoken tone. ❝…But you’re not that awful either, I suppose. For a non-human, you’re lot better than many of the guys I’ve met during my time. Maybe it’s because you’re so weird, that I don’t feel the need to fake too many aspects of myself around you.❞

All celebrity looks on Oscars Red Carpet 2019
Tumblr media
Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke got to the Oscars red carpet pretty early. I guess she couldn’t wait for night to begin. She looks absolutely stunning in this metallic pinky silvery dress. I love the asymmetric neckline and the form-fitting (but not too tight) silhouette.
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images I wonder if we’ll see any more Game of Thrones stars on this year’s red carpet. Keep reading to see if any other citizens of Westeros show up to Hollywood’s biggest night.
Constance Wu
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Constance Wu looks like a literal princess in this yellow chiffon dress. And by a literal princess, of course, I mean Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I know Disney just did a live action Beauty and the Beast, and Emma Watson was great in it, but now I kind of want Constance Wu to play Belle. There can never be too many live action Disney remakes, right? Don’t even talk to me about Aladdin…
Danielle Macdonald
Tumblr media
Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic Danielle Macdonald was all over the place this year. It seemed like she was in every hit show that came out on Netflix. We loved her as Olympia in Bird Box, we loved her as Willowdean in Dumplin’, and we love her in this red dress on the red carpet. Danielle definitely stands out in this of the shoulder gown. This is the perfect dress to wear when you show up to the Oscars for the first time.
Spike Lee
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Unlike Danielle Macdonald, Spike Lee has been on this carpet a few times before. He knows how it’s done, and he’s walking the carpet with confidence. He looks like a regular Waluigi and he’s sporting some serious bling. Look at those brass knuckles. I think I like the "love" one more than the "hate" one, but I guess you can’t have one without the other. He’s even wearing purple glasses. This guy thought of everything.
Marie Kondo
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Just a few weeks ago, most people didn’t even know Marie Kondo’s name. Now everyone is using her name as a verb. The other day my sister told me that she just “Marie Kondo-ed her cutlery drawer.” Not only does Marie Kondo know how to organize a house, but she also knows how to dress. Look at this stunning floor-length pink gown with silver appliqués. Is she always this perfect?
Amandla Stenberg
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Amandla Stenberg has grown up a lot since we saw her play Rue in the first Hunger Games movie. Now she’s walking the Oscars red carpet in this absolutely stunning dress that looks like something straight out of The Great Gatsby. I think this is my favorite dress so far, but we’re going to have to wait to see who else steps out a limo wearing something none of us can afford.
Yalitza Aparicio
Tumblr media
Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage Yalitza Aparicio strutted her stuff on the Oscars red carpet wearing this gorgeous aquamarine dress. I love the one-shoulder neckline and the color compliments her skin tone so beautifully. Yalitza was amazing in Roma and I’m so glad that she got an Oscar nomination. Her performance was pitch perfect and I can’t wait to see what she does next. She looks even better in color than she does in black and white.
Regina King
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Ok, that settles it, Regina King is bona fide royalty. The clues were all there. I mean, her last name is king, her first name is Latin for “queen,” what more do I have to say? Regina looks like she belongs in a castle guarded by the entire cast of Game of Thrones. I love this white dress. It’s simple, it’s elegant, it’s everything we’ve ever wanted. I love the matching white shoes.
Octavia Spencer
Tumblr media
Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage Last year Octavia Spencer was in The Shape of Water, the film that ended up winning the Academy Award for Best Picture. This year she showed up to the red carpet ready to present an award to another deserving artist. This midnight blue dress looks like something a very wealthy, very stylish person would wear to prom. I love the subtle sparkle in the fabric and the little clutch ties the whole look together.
Awkwafina
Tumblr media
Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage We should have known that Awkwafina wouldn’t wear a typical long gown to the Oscars. This is Hollywood’s biggest night, and Awkwafina isn’t going to miss an opportunity to be extraordinary. This pantsuit is everything we never knew we needed. It kind of looks like it’s made out of the same material as Emilia Clarke’s dress. Watch out, Emilia, Awkwafina is coming for your look. I’m just joshing, I’m sure there’s enough pinkish sparkly fabric to go around.
Billy Porter
Tumblr media
Frazer Harrison/Getty Images There was a lot to see on the red carpet, but one of the first dresses was the most memorable. Singer and actor Billy Porter arrived in a one-of-a-kind Christian Siriano tuxedo ballgown. Before he hit the red carpet, Porter told Vogue that he wanted to play the part of both male and female on the red carpet. The internet was torn about whether or not they liked the bold outfit, but Porter acknowledged that people would be uncomfortable but that “it’s not anybody’s business but mine.”
Linda Cardellini
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Linda Cardellini definitely didn’t pick a dress that blends into the crowd. Her movie Green Book was up for Best Picture and that means it’s time to celebrate. This is a celebration dress. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many ruffles on one garment. Linda doesn’t care that she wasn’t nominated for an individual award this year. She’s here to celebrate her cast and their collective accomplishments. Also, this is a gorgeous shade of pink.
Melissa McCarthy And Ben Falcone
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Melissa McCarthy walked the red carpet in this beautiful black and white pantsuit. She’s looking fitter than ever and I think I need a long white cape now. Melissa McCarthy is channeling her inner superhero and I’m living for it. Her husband and frequent collaborator, Ben Falcone, doesn’t look too bad either. A classic tuxedo is always a good look. These two definitely coordinated their outfits. They look like a match made in heaven.
Sandy Powell
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images I had no idea who Sandy Powell was until this very moment, but how can you not stop and stare at this amazing suit. All those lines are making me dizzy and I can’t say that I’m mad about it. Her bright orange hair is the perfect counterpoint to this monochromatic look. Sandy Powell is the costume designer who dressed all of the actors in The Favourite. She also worked on Marry Poppins Returns.
Glenn Close
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Glenn Close looks like she’s ready to win a golden statue in this statuesque gold dress. We’ve seen Glenn Close play countless queens, Cruella Deville, and now an underappreciated wife. Well, she’s definitely not going to be underappreciated tonight. Glenn Close owns the red carpet. She may as well roll it up and take it home with her in her limo. I’m so happy for Glenn! This woman totally deserves all of the recognition.
Kacey Musgraves
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Kacey Musgraves just won a gigantic Grammy award and now she’s walking the red carpet at the 91st annual Academy Awards. She’s wearing a tiered tulle covered pink gown. Pink definitely themes to be the color of the night at this year’s Oscars, and I promise you there are more pink dresses to come. Kacey looks like a walking cloud or poof of cotton candy. That dress looks absolutely delicious.
Gemma Chan
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images I told you there would be more pink. Gemma Chan looks stunning in this easy, breezy, beautiful loose pink dress. It looks like she just threw this on even though I know it took her the whole day to get ready. Gemma showed up to the Oscars as part of the cast of Crazy Rich Asians which totally smashed it at the box office this year. Enjoy your moment, Gemma!
Jennifer Hudson
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Jennifer Hudson knows how to bring the drama to the red carpet. This dress screams drama, from its deep red color, to its one shoulder detail, to its giant center ruffle. Also, did you get a good look at those earrings? How much do you think just one of those earrings would cost? Probably more than my house. Jennifer looks absolutely stunning. Take note people, this is how you do Hollywood glamor right.
Tina Fey And Maya Rudolph
Tumblr media
Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph are kind of like yin and yang on the Oscars red carpet. Tina went for a low key cool blue strapless dress, and Maya chose a patterned, pink, long-sleeved gown. I love how these two balance each other out. Also, both of these dresses are perfect for the person wearing them. Which dress do you like best? Tina’s or Maya’s? Personally, I like Maya’s a little bit better.
Helen Mirren
Tumblr media
Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic It looks like Helen Mirren got the pink memo. A lot of celebrities have opted for lighter, more airy fabrics on Oscar night, and Helen Mirren is one of those celebrities. I love how this dress is made up of multiple pink tones, plus Helen’s stylist made a great decision to pair this gown with a diamond necklace that can only be described as a show stopper. How is anybody going to be able to pay attention to the awards when Helen Mirren is wearing that thing around her neck?
Amy Adams
Tumblr media
Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage I’ve always loved Amy Adams as an actress, but this year she starred in the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects and that show made me love her even more. Enough about Sharp Objects (which is amazing by the way, definitely watch it), let’s talk about this dress. Who says a white dress has to be boring? The structure of this dress is perfection, and the different shades of grey and subtle texturing in the fabric take the whole look right over the top.
Emma Stone
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images This isn’t Emma Stone’s first rodeo. She knows how this red carpet thing is done. She’s won an Oscar once before, remember? That whole La La Land and Moonlight fiasco? Anyway, let’s move onwards and upwards. Emma Stone always picks the loveliest dresses to wear to events, but this one is particularly special. It kind of looks like it’s made out of dragon scales. Maybe she’s just excited for the new season of Game of Thrones.
Lisa Bonet And Jason Momoa
Tumblr media
Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage Speaking of Game of Thrones, I told you we’d probably se some more stars of that show on this list. Jason Momoa may not be on the show currently (which means he doesn’t have any spoilers for us), but he’s definitely a big part of the whole saga. These two are wearing matching outfits and it’s way too cute for me. Jason Momoa is so much taller than Lisa Bonet, it’s ridiculous.
Brie Larson
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images I’m loving Brie Larson’s new ice blonde hair. She’s starting to look like a real superhero and I can’t wait to see her smash buildings and save the day in Captain Marvel. Brie Larson always looks gorgeous in a very particular girl next door kind of way. Like she’s pretty, but it’s a kind of pretty that seems attainable. I like it. This girl has charm seeping out of every pore. Also, that silver dress is stunning.
Charlize Theron
Tumblr media
Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic Well, Brie Larson’s gone blonde and Charlize Theron is now a brunette. Who would have thought? I think the brown hair suits her. She looks like she’s ready to become the next president or something. This periwinkle blue dress is so unique. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it on the red carpet. Charlize is amazing. I wonder why she didn’t host the Oscars. She probably didn’t want to. She’s too busy ruling the world.
Laura Dern
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Laura Dern was amazing in Big Little Lies last year and in just about everything she’s ever done. I think Laura Dern is one of the most underrated actresses of our time. Where’s her Oscar nod, Academy? I don’t think she deserves an award for this dress though. I mean, she doesn’t belong on a worst dressed list, but I just don’t think it’s anything special. I think this burgundy number kind of looks like a bridesmaid’s dress.
Tessa Thompson
Tumblr media
Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage Tessa Thompson has been in this business for a long time, but I think 2018 was definitely her year. She was amazing in Westworld and she starred in all of Janelle Monae’s music videos. She went from being that girl in that thing to being absolutely iconic. This dress is stunning on her. She looks like a queen bee which is somehow very fitting. I love the details on this little black dress.
Jordan Peele And Chelsea Peretti
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Jordan Peele is working on some very big things that are coming out very soon and I can barely contain my excitement. He won an Oscar for best original screenplay last year for Get Out. Now he’s working on a Twilight Zone series and I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing. Chelsea Peretti, his partner in crime, is funny as heck and she looks amazing in this black and white off the shoulder dress.
Lady Gaga
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images We always expect wild and crazy fashion from Lady Gaga, but she decided to tone it down for this year’s Oscars. She’s wearing long black gloves and a long black strapless dress with some lovely crystal jewelry. Lady Gaga was nominated for multiple Academy Awards this year. She was nominated for awards in a music category and in an acting category, which seems appropriate for this pop star turned actress.
Olivia Colman
Tumblr media
Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Olivia Colman was nominated for an Academy Award for her work in The Favourite. She was absolutely amazing in that film, and I am so happy to see her looking so lovely on the red carpet. This green dress is stunning on her, and I especially like the long shawl she’s wearing over it. Olivia is a picture of beauty and grace (quite unlike the version of Queen Anne she plays in The Favourite).
John Mullaney And Annamarie Tendler
Tumblr media
Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic John Mullaney wasn’t about to wear a normal black tuxedo to the Academy Awards. Nope, he’s way to cool for that. He’s wearing a shiny patterned jacket because he’s John Mullaney and he can do whatever he wants. His wife, Anna Tendler, is also taking some fashion risks tonight, and I think they’re definitely paying off. That feathered neckline is everything. I can see why John likes her so much.
Rachel Weisz
Tumblr media
Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images Rachel Weisz decided to one up the red carpet itself with this stunning two-piece red patent leather-esque ensemble. She’s accessorized her dress with a matching red clutch and a gorgeous jewelled headband. Rachel was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in The Favourite. Ultimately, she lost to Regina King, but she still looked stunning on the red carpet. Really, that’s what everyone is tuning in to see anyway.
Danai Gurrira
Tumblr media
Photo by Dan MacMedan/Getty Images Danai Gurrira looks absolutely stunning is this floor length gold gown. I love how there are different shades of gold woven into the fabric. Danai showed up to the Oscars as part of the ensemble of Black Panther. You probably also know as Michone from The Walking Dead. Black Panther won several awards at the Oscars, including one for Best Costume Design. The film lost Best Picture to Green Book, but at least the cast got to have a great time on the red carpet.
Laura Marano
Tumblr media
Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images Laura Marano is an actress best known for playing Ally on the Disney Chanel series Austin & Ally. Recently, she also had a part in Greta Gerwig’s 2017 film, Lady Bird. Laura walked the Oscars red carpet in this gorgeous color blocked yellow and pink dress. Laura looks like she’s ready for Easter in this outfit. I especially love the pop of green she added to the look with her little emerald clutch.
Shangela
Tumblr media
Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images Legendary drag queen Shangela wore this stunning ruffled lilac dress on the Oscars red carpet. She attended the Oscars as part of the cast of the Oscar nominated movie A Star is Born. Everything about this look is big and loud from the color to the metallic detaling to the hair. Shangela knows how to strut her stuff, and she can pose for pictures like it’s nobody’s business.
Julia Roberts
Tumblr media
Photo by Matt Petit – Handout/A.M.P.A.S. via Getty Images It looks like Julia Roberts heard that pink was in style, because she also showed up to the Oscars in a pink toned dress. This off the shoulder fuchsia dress balances a simple silhouette with a bold color. Julia’s new blonde hair looks fantastic on her, and I swear it doesn’t look like she aged a day since she won her own Oscar. Remember that iconic acceptance speech? Julia never disappoints.
Elsie Fisher
Tumblr media
Photo by Dan MacMedan/Getty Images Elsie Fisher, the breakout star of Bo Burnhams first feature film, Eighth Grade, walked the red carpet in this stunning pant suit. Leave it to this literal teenager to break fashion barriers and make a statement on the red carpet. Elsie Fisher is a queen and we don’t deserve her. Seriously, if you haven’t seen Eighth Grade yet, do yourself a favor and go see that movie immediately. I can’t wait to see what Elsie does next.
Billy Porter
Tumblr media
Photo by Dan MacMedan/Getty Images Here it is. The outfit that everybody was talking about. Billy Porter’s half suit half ballgown may have just broken the internet. I think it’s clear that Billy Porter won the red carpet. I mean, how can you not love this look? That pose, though. The pose sells it. You can’t wear an outfit like this unless you have the attitude to match it. Billy definitely has a whole lot of attitude.
Sarah Paulson
Tumblr media
Photo by Dan MacMedan/Getty Images It’s been a big year for Sarah Paulson. This actress has just been quietly doing her thing for years, being an amazing actress and appearing in some of our favorite movies and TV shows. this year she was in Bird Box, which was something of a viral sensation. Sarah chose to wear this puffy pink dress on the red carpet. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dress quite like this, and while it’s not to my personal taste, I applaud Sarah for taking a risk.
Ruth E. Carter
Tumblr media
John Rasimus / Barcroft Media via Getty Images Ruth E. Carter just became the first black woman to win an Oscar for Costume Design. She was recognized for her work on Black Panther. Ruth has been working in this business for years, and it’s about time that she got to hold that golden trophy. Read the full article

Article orginally published on samirbecic.com
The Health Fitness Revolution institute led by Samir Becic continues to be an annual resource in ranking US Politicians (mayors, senators, congresspeople, governors) on fitness and health, and has been for the past 6 years. Across the nation, numerous national media are using our lists and reporting the information. Every year, we update our lists because we feel that it’s important our politicians continue to be good leaders by demonstrating healthy lifestyles themselves in addition to promoting it within their communities.
“By mayors urging their cities to become healthier and fitter, they will save hundreds of billions of dollars, corporations will be more productive, and our children will be healthier throughout their lives so that they can become the leaders of the future. I believe that Mayors can be great ambassadors for a healthier and fitter nation. The mayors on this list are not only fit themselves but promote health and fitness to their cities and constituents- which is a major ranking criteria.” says Samir Becic.
Samir Becic, author of the book ReSYNC Your Life,  intends to use this list to motivate other mayors to be more active and fit in order to be the best ambassadors for their cities. “Houston BCycle’s expansion project is allowing more Houstonians an affordable way to improve their personal health as well as the health of our environment,” said Mayor Sylvester Turner. “Cycling allows people to explore neighborhoods in a unique and engaging way. Increasing the number of Houston BCycle stations provides a much-needed alternative to traveling in single-occupancy automotive vehicles and complements our public transit system.”
In 2017, Houston BCycle users offset 913,332 pounds of carbon emissions and burned over 38 million calories.

In my previous blogs I said God does not play Dice, He pokes. This was about a bike trip to the Jain ish hot spot, Gometeshwara- Shravana belagola and I had talked about a few back to back events that were unexpected, unpredictable. I wanted to complete the travelogue soon but fate wanted something else. So I wrote couple of other blogs on the year 2016 and a promotional blog. For the later I got an Amazon gift card but then felt little pimp~ish for peddling wares for coupons, though it was a fun thing. Is this now an attempt at redemption ?
Anyways, as I said we all had an eventful start and a normal ride till the shrine . Once we reached the destination , usual group antics started. Club supremo went live on Facebook, censor-able comments were made, water drunk. Selfies flowed. Then we remembered the purpose for coming here. We slowly made towards the shops from the parking lot and promptly started to eat junk. We deposited out “gear” out there in the shop and made our mood to start 600+ steps climb.
Sun was out in its glory but air was pleasant. One has to climb bare foot here (that is the norm of Gometeshwara ) It felt nice at that time but guess by noon the steps would be too hot to handle. There are enterprising souls who will sell socks to “sensitive feet” people. For now we were comfortable. The motley group of me ( senior citizen ) with a dentist, a media man, several amateur photographers. Then there were the heavy weights who had enough wisdom already and so decided to skip the climb up and down.
As our climb progressed the group split into twos, threes and fives etc. but these were dynamic. They would form, split, reform based on the cadence, interests and desire to pose. Fitter ones would surge ahead and there by miss the fun laggards were having, regret and join back. While one of the last ones would get an idea for a shot and move forward to a perch. That is the law of a large group climbing up.
As we were climbing I thought that spiritual folks install their showcases on spectacular locations and make it tough to access. Usually on a top of a hill. This is deliberate so that pilgrim feels a sense of self accomplishment after the struggle to reach there. And then sees magnificence of the symbol and feels humble. Reflects. Of course tourists completely miss the point of. They are there to take a picture with a back drop that has a recognition quotient. We were a mixed bunch of both.
As you climb and take in the scenery you will see ancient inscriptions on stone after ~450 steps. The script is yet to be deciphered. If you want permanence then etch your words on stone. And another small climb of 50 more steps you come across the A three-celled temple that  has images of the Tirthankaras Adinatha, Neminatha and Santinatha. It was here that the younger members started to tease us oldies and we made them run for their youth. As the climb nears its end you see more of the sculptures. The ancient stone craftsmen were like kids. Any surface is a fair game to write on or carve. And they did a beautiful job of it. So many images depicting, humanity, nobility and nature. Finally we came to a doorway that has the sculptures of brothers Bharat and Bahubali (aka Gometeswara).
Who was Bahubali and why do we have this single stone statue of him on the hill top ? He was second of the hundred sons of King Rishabhanatha of Ikshvaku dynasty in Ayodhya. When this king wanted to retire and renounce the world he made his sons kings. Bharata got Ayodhya and Bahubali got south India. Bharata went on a conquering spree and won in all directions. Ninety eight brothers submitted to him. Yet when he went back to his capital his chariot stopped on its own. Signaling that Bahubali was yet to be conquered. Bahubali was wise , strong and well educated so he challenged Bharata to a fight instead of submitting. Apparatnly both the brothers were fairly advanced in their incarnations and could not be defeated by any weapon. So they had three contests and Bahubali won all. Yet, in victory he felt a remorse. He discarded all he had, including his clothes and went to seek liberation. He became a Digamber Monk. For a year he meditated standing as creepers and ant hills grew on him. Yet he was not at peace. He was troubled by thoughts that he was the cause of his brothers humiliation. Only when Bharata came to worship him that he got liberated and became a Siddha. The statue itself was erected by Chavundaraya, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief in the Talakad Ganga for his mother. It was funded by his king.
Towards the end of the climb there are small temples, inscription on stone from long forgotten people in a script that is yet to be cracked. The statue looks serene. Imposing but not scary. It was built in 9th century and still radiating the message of calm and permanence. It is as amazing as the story of Bahubali.
We started with so many unexpected events. We ended it a place that teaches that our life is transient, turbulent but we can find calm and stability. The imposing statue staring at the horizon says, take a deep breath, this life and its challenges are for you to experience the thrill of short lived existence.
The gods do not poke you nor play dice. In-fact Jain-ism says there is no god who created the universe. It is timeless. What you have are Siddhas who figured out the meaning of universe. You just carve out the destiny by reacting to situations. The situations are created by nature, cosmos and fellow transient beings. What you do with it and what you learn will future define what you will become.
In all of the travels, teachings, philosophy you must find a center in a belief to hold dear. The one point you will converge to once the disturbance is done and you are sorted. Even in chaos there is order if you look microscopically or telescopically. World may be an illusion or Maya but it is sure is an entertainer and a harsh teacher. Few souls can grasp its intricacies and can simplify living for lesser being. And they can do it for centuries, perched on top of a hill.
The pond that give this place its name
Order is in Chaos, dice and pokes do not matter In my previous blogs I said God does not play Dice, He pokes. This was about a bike trip to the Jain ish hot spot, Gometeshwara- Shravana belagola and I had talked about a few back to back events that were unexpected, unpredictable.
