Art | Agents of change: six women artists discuss their canvas and worldview
Art | Agents of change: six women artists discuss their canvas and worldview
A pair of years in the past, Laurence des Cars was named the top of Louvre. The significance sinks in once you realise it’s the first time ever within the Parisian museum’s 230-year-history {that a} lady sits on the prime. The identical yr, Rijksmuseum featured women artists in its ‘Gallery of Honour’ — the primary time in its over two centuries of historical past. The numbers within the artwork…

Didn't get the chance to share my findings last night, but here are some shorter ones we did in uni from Maya Chowdhry's Fossil:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here are some more Frosts bc I love Frost and have the Penguin Vintage Collection of all his poems:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I promise I did try to find shorter ones - hopefully these are a bit easier to memorise than "Don't Hesitate"!!
If you want something autumn-y, there's always W. H. Auden's "Autumn Song". His poem "Stop All the Clocks"/"Funeral Blues" was one I learned by heart in Year 13 (7 or 8 years ago) and still remember parts of.
William Carlos William has a lovely short poem called "This Is Just To Say" about plums. For something with more rhyme, Emily Brent's "Fall, Leaves, Fall" is a good one. A really short one (6 lines) is Katherine Towers' "Whim Wood", and Robert Louis Stevenson's "Autumn Fires" is rather cozy too.
Oh, and finally the Frost poem I wrote from memory on a friend's arm a while back: "Nothing Gold Can Stay" <3
Hope this helps!!
Shoot I'm 8 poems behind in my goal to memorize one a week in 2024.
Anybody have some small or mid-sized poems to recommend? Bonus points if it's about happiness, Halloween, or vampires
(small being like, Dust of Snow by Robert Frost, medium being something like Don't Hesitate by Mary Oliver.)

SANDSTONE
A million years ago, I live under a forest on the top of a ridge. I shoulder the spur, once resting deep below magma, yellowing grey, sometimes wearing black or pink or reddish blotches.
I was pushed and shoved by other rock formations, spat on by volcanic lava and, under pressure, rock was fractured, split and contours made.
I am the ridge carved to make a walled garden; the stonemason’s chisel has fabricated two-foot square slabs, and arches for bee-holes.
I am alive with bistre lichen and green moss, fed by mineral dust. I feel the rough soles of your walking boots, your webbed feet, your paws, your tiny claws.
Rain has poured over me for centuries, dislodging my lime render. Pinholes form where Yorkshire has weathered me, leaving the mortar sitting proud.
A bee-hole is where my ageing shows. Pitted with pin pricks, I map what the hillside has seen. Spores creep around the stonework, like nature’s grout.
The wall watches the ridge where once I touched the sky. I have been blasted with dynamite, punched with hammers, devoured by iron teeth. But I am still here.

Jennifer Winget Is Missing Aneri Vajani Aka ‘Chotu’ From 'Beyhadh
The fans of the show, Beyhadh were definitely in for a treat as Jennifer Winget and Aneri Vajani who essayed the roles of Maya and Saanjh respectively engaged in some fun banter on their social media. The two expressed how much they are missing each other and this may make the fans nostalgic about their Beyhadh days. The show also starred Kushal Tandon in the lead role.

Jennifer Winget misses her 'Chotu' Aneri Vajani
Talking about the post, Jennifer reposted Aneri's Instagram story on her wherein the latter had shared a beautiful throwback picture of them together. Aneri had captioned the picture stating, 'Miss you Baduu.' Sharing the same on her social media, Jennifer captioned the picture stating, 'Miss you too Chotu.' It seems like the lovely ladies had also given each other these adorable nicknames.
Talking about the picture, it may have been presumably taken during one of the promotional events of the show. Aneri can be seen looking pretty in a green attire which she paired up with a traditional printed off-sleeve jacket along with subtle makeup. On the other hand, Jennifer looks ravishing in a white attire. But its the Dil Mil Gaye actor's chic hairdo with her hair tied to a neat bun along with her radiant makeup and purple lip-color which is adding to the glam quotient. Take a look at the post.

Musicians, writers and artists from Mark Twain to Salvador Dali and Lady Gaga have used the telephone to explore ideas of intimacy, privacy and power. Reflecting on the rise in voice and video calls during lockdown, a diverse group of artists have created new audio-visual art inspired by telephone technologies in the Science Museum Group Collection. “The Exchange” (as this project is known) explores the role of the telephone in how we communicate across cultures. It features art, poetry and spoken word by novelist and journalist Will Self, artist Maya Chowdhry, beatboxer Danny Ladwa, poets Lisa Kelly, Serge ♆ Neptune, Nadia Nadarajah and DL Williams, and sound artist Aura Satz.

In a recent statement made by the channel, it was revealed that the Jennifer Winget and Shivin Narang starrer show Beyhadh 2 will not air after the lockdown. The news, undoubtedly, left the fans devastated as they wished to see a MayRa reunion on screen. Even though the show was going to be a finite series, they had expected to get a closure which would eventually lead to Maya and Rudra being together. However, due to multiple reasons, the channel has decided to discontinue Beyhadh 2 along with two other shows post lockdown.
After a lot of speculation regarding the show’s future, Jennifer Winget has addressed the situation and it is confirmed that the plug has been pulled on the show. Jennifer Winget in her recent interaction with a daily confirmed that Beyhadh 2 will no longer air on television, however, being the one to look at the brighter side, she says that she’s sure something better will come out of this and that there are better days ahead of us. She further said that the show was so loved and followed and Maya’s character was really close to her heart, not giving it a proper end is sad. But, she hopes that the fans will understand the situation and circumstances.
Jennifer also revealed that they were planning to pull the plug next month anyway and given the current scenario, it would have been difficult for the team to make it to the end. She says it was a logical thing to do since it was a matter of the team’s safety without which, there would be nothing possible.
As heartbreaking as it is for Beyhadh 2 to be axed without notice, we’re hoping to see Jennifer Winget create magic with her next project super soon!
