Valentine’s Writing Tag

Making an open tag out of this for everyone who wants to do it! :)

I’ll warn you beforehand, I kinda went insane and put all my wips into this. Questions under the cut cause I’m no sadist (hope it’ll work)

1. Which of your characters have some romantic chemistry?

As for The Knights Of The Alder: Henry and Callan, Talon and Aiden, lowkey Halea and Maya

also from my other wips: Charlie and Xander (P:SW), Nalia and Alisha (P:SW), Arthur and Will (A Summer at Cotton Bay), Damian and Magdalena (A Study of Lambs and Wolves)

2. Which of your characters do you think readers will ship?

All of the above for obvious reasons, at least I sure hope so.

I know for a fact that people ship Talon and Aiden (good) or Henry and Callan (yes) and honestly

I’d be disappointed if people won’t go insane about Xander and Charlie or Arthur and Will (the latter because if people wouldn’t ship them it would mean I suck at writing romance, which I do to be fair but I hope I wouldn’t fail at it that bad).

Also I think in P:SW people would sorta ship Nalia with Rafael, though I think of them as a solely platonic relationship.

Same goes for Ben and Lucian from A Study of Lambs and Wolves. Their relationship could possibly be seen both romantically and platonically. I, too, kinda ship them, but also like them as a platonic relationship a lot. (Lil spoiler, when Ben becomes a vampire too, him and Lucian become mates, but in my wip a vampire’s mate doesn’t necessarily have to be their romantic partner, just a person they love and that loves them in any kind of way)

3. Which of your characters are slated to be an endgame relationship?

No one in The Knights of the Alder, since there’s no romance happening in this story (it’s about other kinds of love okay don’t look at me like that). I pretty much consider Talon and Aiden endgame, but they’ll only get together after the happenings of the story so it doesn’t really count.

Obviously in my love story Will and Arthur will be an endgame relationship, that’s the whole point of A Summer at Cotton Bay (they’ll end up pursuing the ultimate life goal: becoming gay farmers)

In P:SW Charlie and Xander are endgame, and maybe Nalia and Alisha too (haven’t decided that yet)

4. Are there any established relationships in your WIPs? If so, how did they meet?

Yesss. Callan and Henry of course. They met in the forest when they were six, Callan was paying the human world a visit and waited for the return of his nurse when he saw Henry playing alone in the forest (Aiden wasn’t even born yet, that’s how long the two knew each other). They got along well and since that day Callan regularly snuck away to spend time with Henry. About ten years later they ended up officially dating.

The other wip of mine with an established relationship is A Study of Lambs and Wolves. It’s Lucian’s father Damian and his wife Magdalena. They met when Magda, who just ran away from home, was being threatened by two men in the forest and Damian helped her. Or rather he wanted too, but Magda was already helping herself by fending those men off with a kitchen knife. Understandably, Damian was instantly in love. He later took her in and she stayed with him.

5. What’s your dream love confession scene between your characters?

Oh I have to say I think more about first kisses and proposals then actual confessions of love, also because I know I’ll never write a confession as good as the one in my favorite book.

I still daydream about oc love confessions sometimes though xD And when I do I love the fluffiest sorts of love confessions there are, but also very angsty ones. Like one person loving the other in silence for years and then the person they love dies and they realize they never even got to tell them their true feelings (I may or may not have tried out this scenario with Taiden in one of my daydreams).

Of course now that I am asked to name a favorite scenario, my brain headed out for its lunch break and I can’t think of anything xD

Let’s go with love confessions I already did plan instead to make up for it 🙈

I have probably told this many times but you will hear it again how Callan and Henry ended up confessing to each other because I really like it. Of course it wasn’t a straight out “I like you.” from either of them but rather during an “argument” (like we love it). Henry told Callan how everyone expects him to marry that girl from his village and Callan said that maybe he really should do it (boy was crushing hard on Henry but he thought maybe it would be the best for Henry to stay with another human that can give him what he can’t).

That made Henry kinda angry and he told him “I don’t want a wife or kids or a stupid life in the village I only ever wanted you.” and Callan was pretty much dying inside. He told Henry that he only wants him to be happy to which Henry replied “how can you think I could possibly be happy without you” and well what can I say Callan just had to kiss him right then and there and that’s how they first confessed (they did have a proper talk at one point though). Okay technically Callan already kinda confessed when they were children but that doesn’t count because they were too young to know what it meant.

And Modern AU Talon and Aiden confessed solely on accident and I love that. They were becoming close friends and both were secretly crushing on the other and while Aiden became a lot more affectionate, Talon was scared of his own feelings and distanced himself from Aiden. Now Aiden isn’t an idiot and he noticed Talon avoiding him and confronted him which sorta ended in them bickering and arguing (there’s a pattern here I noticed) and in the end they pretty much yelled out their feelings for each other and then just blushed and stared at each other like “wtf just happened”. Which is fun.

And for my boys from A Summer at Cotton Bay I planned a cheesy yet dramatic confession like Will saying goodbye before he goes back to London and Arthur letting him go only for one of them running to the other later and then confessing their feelings for the other and being like “I won’t let you go” (preferably out in the rain or something xD)

So yeah. This is probably more than you ever asked for, I’m sorry. But this was really fun to do, so thank you again for the tag <3
