EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: MLS PLAYER MATTEO FERRARI JOGS THE SPORTS PARK
Montreal Impact’s Central Defender came to vacation in Treasure Beach...
—and he discovered the perfect, unexpected place to train.
Jason Henzell told him to meet us at the Sports Park, and once there, he was clearly impressed. The strapping Italian national passed a neon football to his adorable son, and watched him run across the broad expanse of land to reach it. “I started playing when I was six and never stopped,” he said, “this place is definitely great for the community.”
The cricket field where we stood was delineated by a heavyweight nautical rope, and Matteo suddenly asked, “Hey is it ok if I use this place to work out?” Before Jason could enthusiastically answer, Matteo was strapping an iPod to his bicep. Then he was off, jogging around the snaking rope like a track. As we watched him make lap after effortless lap, Jason joked, “I didn’t think anyone could rival Bolt for the best last name.”

(bkz. Sarı Melek vs. Kahpe Felek)

Ferrari fights it out for first win of 2020
The Italian wins his first FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup race of the season on home turf, ahead of Simeon and Aegerter. Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE) kept his perfect FIM Enel MotoE World Cup record at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli intact on Sunday, taking a flawless victory at the Gran Premio Lenovo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. That’s three wins in two years on home soil for the reigning World Cup winner, and it's also his first win of 2020 to put him right back in the fight for the Cup. Xavier Simeon (LCR E-Team) and Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) completed the podium in another close fought MotoE™ encounter. Polesitter Mattia Casadei (Ongetta SIC58 Squadracorse) grabbed the holeshot after a great start on home soil and soon got into a good rhythm, with Simeon going around the outside of Lukas Tulovic (Tech3 E-Racing) at Turn 1 and into Turn 2 to grab P2. It was a clean opening sector for everyone, but then Turn 8 saw Josh Hook (Octo Pramac MotoE) run off track, before numerous riders – including Tulovic – got Turn 13 all sorts of wrong. Tulovic dropped to outside the top 10, with leader Casadei left enjoying a half-second advantage on the opening lap. However, the Italian was soon reeled in by Simeon and the chasing pack. On Lap 2, we had a five-rider battle for the lead. Casadei, Simeon, Ferrari, Jordi Torres (Pons Racing 40) and standings leader Aegerter were about to get into a phenomenal ding-dong MotoE™ battle. Ferrari leads Italian 1-2 in stunning Misano E-pole shootout
The reigning Cup winner takes the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup Saturday spoils for the first time - but will start from Row 2. There was a lot to smile about for some of the home heroes after FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup E-Pole at the Gran Premio Lenovo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, with Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE) taking his very first E-Pole after snatching the honour from compatriot Mattia Casadei (Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse). The 2019 Cup winner and Misano victor won't start from the front, however, with Casadei promoted to P1 as Ferrari serves a three-place grid penalty for his crash with Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) in Jerez. Third fastest in E-Pole was Xavier Simeon (LCR E-Team) as he pipped rookie Lukas Tulovic (Tech 3 E-Racing), but the German will move up to start alongside the Belgian on the front row. The story of the day - as well as the polesetter, front row and penalty on the way - was a difficult E-Pole for Eric Granado as the Brazilian ran afoul of track limits and had his lap cancelled. He'll therefore start from the back, and will be one to watch as he tries to move forward in the short dash of a MotoE™ race that awaits. That drama came late as the runners headed out in the order set by their Free Practice times - with the fastest going last - creating plenty of stories throughout the field. Read the full article

Granado pips Ferrari by 0.032 on Friday
The Brazilian tops the timesheets ahead of last year's Misano winner - with home hero de Angelis in third On Friday at Round 2 of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup, the gap between the top two was 0.032. Fast forward to Round 3 and, incredibly, it's exactly the same tiny margin. This time around it was Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) at the top, with home hero and 2019 winner at the track Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE) the man on the chase. Third went the way of fellow home hero - although this time, Sammarinese rider - Alex de Angelis (Octo Pramac MotoE), with the veterans shining on Day 1 of the Gran Premio Lenovo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. Perfect sunshine greeted the grid for both sessions, although there were a few small hiccups to contend with. In FP1, both Ferrari and Mattia Casadei (Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse) suffered technical issues, and in FP2 there was a crash for points leader Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP). Nothing put too big a dent in the day's proceedings, however, as Ferrari was second overall and Casadei P4 by the end of play. Aegerter? He still completed the top five first time out on the Energica at the venue. Sixth went the way of Niki Tuuli (Avant Ajo MotoE) after some encouraging signs for the Finnish rider. Lovel Palmer: From St. Elizabeth to the World
We met up with Major League Soccer star Lovel Palmer at the Sports Park in Treasure Beach...
And fellow Major League Soccer Player Matteo Ferrari was also on the scene. Lovel plays for the team Real Salt Lake, grew up right in St. Elizabeth—and makes it all sound easy. “In St. Elizabeth you grow up playing football or playing cricket—and then you really find what you want to do.” He played his first real match right here in Treasure Beach, 14 years ago, and he knows this land has come a long way: “The fact that Matteo Ferrari is in town, working out right now, speaks volumes for what’s happening here.” Lovel has traveled the world playing the beautiful game, and to up-and-coming footballers he says with conviction, “Try to improve just one percent of your game every day, because eventually you’ll get to a hundred.” Taken to heart.
