ok gonna say something that probably sounds insane but just bear w me. i think i figured out what bugged me so much about matt miller. he feels like he was engineered to attract a certain audience in the 2010s and nothing else. like he doesn’t feel like a naturally occurring goth/emo character. and i think that honestly plays into my general dislike of the deckers as a whole. they feel so……..marketable. and this is definitely just a product of srtt as a whole bc that entire game is like. desperate to be as marketable and commercialized as possible. but i think that’s why the deckers/matt rubbed me the wrong way. as in there doesn’t feel like there’s any thought outside of just “he is gonna attract this specific audience,” whereas i feel like goth/emo/etc characters in other media from the same era at least had like. a reason for being that way. they had a purpose outside of looks. he’s nothing outside of appearances.

and yes, you can absolutely make the argument that isn’t every character in some way meant to be marketable?? and like. yeah. but matt just checks off so many specific boxes that it feels so…..planned. nothing about him really feels like a natural character. british emo teen boy who has social anxiety? black hair that covers his face and he paints his nails? “here…..i am god.” like holy shit. just no substance outside of appearances. and it really doesn’t help that he and others really don’t get much development. it just feels very superficial. not to say the other srtt antagonists are like. masterpieces. cuz they’re not. but matt and the deckers in particular just felt so…….contrived. this guy was made specifically to be the fan favorite instead of making an interesting character first. like why should i care about him.

but perhaps that’s just the ethos of srtt. looks above all else.

Low effort art alert. So a minute ago I was thinking about how canon timeline Bones went to the mirrorverse and said I can fix him and he DID. I made up a whole au where he feels bad and goes “Kirk can I keep him 🥺” and Kirk says yes in a moment of weakness (other than that the au involves a lot of Spock being fucked up about the fact that he left his bones (the one dude who was even remotely uninterested in killing him sometimes) behind and bones immediately sploded in every other universe including the one he came from but not the one he’s in now. Long story)

thinking about the time i watched the departed and was completely unable to follow the plot because i spent the first 60% of the movie thinking that matt damon and leinardo dicaprio were the same person and there was some elaborate double- or triple-crossing going on. for the life of me i cannot tell those two apart

dude the legend of the mighty nein is gonna tank my mental health sooo bad lol. they released one (1) clip and it reignited all the frustration and bitchiness from that time pretty much instantly. i spent like an hour at work today getting annoyed over years-old bullshit and then going "okay i'm going to think about something else now" and then inevitably drifting back to it and getting angry again

cr2 is just inextricably linked to the vindictive cruelty of people who did everything in their power to 1) ignore canon and 2) look down on a group of people who had every right to get invested in a years-long relationship and then vocally feel frustration when that relationship came to a fast, blunt, unsatisfying conclusion. god it's not even the disappointment that's lingered as much as it's the ice cold rage over being condescended to and talked about by the "dont forget to love each other uwu" crowd like i'm some asshole idiot child for having any critiques or negative feelings towards something that was incredibly ridiculously stupidly precious to me.

and now the show's gonna come out, and it's going to be unavoidable, and it's gonna happen all over again ^__^

Okay this might be the most filthy thing I’ve ever put into words, let alone sent to someone but your request has filled my mind with possibilities.

The one that’s causing the most brainrot is Matt being a subby top with a praise kink and power bottom foggy and something something edging via cockwarming, etc.

i love this because it's relatively safe and the one below it is the wildest shit i've seen in recent memory. but yes, let's do it.

"How long are you planning on doing this?" Matt asks, whimpering a little when Foggy shifts his weight on top of him. It's been five minutes and he already sounds kind of desperate which is perfect.

"I brought my laptop," Foggy says, happily.

"You're kidding," Matt says.

The noise he makes when Foggy lifts up enough to grab his laptop from the nightstand and sinks back down slowly is gorgeous. Their relationship has had an edge at points but figuring out this dynamic has smoothed some of it out. Matt loves being inside of him and he loves Foggy messing with him, ordering him around, making him behave.

Punishing him.

"I've got a lot to work on," he says, carefully opening it and sitting it on Matt's chest, "and you have to do your job."

"What's that?" Matt asks, and Foggy angles the laptop down so he can see Matt's mouth open and panting, like he's anticipating what Foggy's going to say.

"Being a good boy for me," Foggy says, warmly, running fingers through Matt's hair and pulling at it gently. Matt bucks his hips up and Foggy breathes out an, "Uh uh," and, firmer, "Every time you try to get yourself off, I add ten more minutes. Agreed?"

"Agreed," Matt says, nodding, blushing faintly before he adds, "and, uhm. . .thank you. For this."

"You're very welcome," Foggy says, maneuvering enough to kiss Matt's forehead before sitting down again, clenching intentionally just to hear Matt moan. "Now, hush. I'll let you know when I need you."

"Short film," Foggy says. "Did I say you could talk?"

He presses fingers to Matt's mouth, resting against a pouting lip until Matt opens his mouth and licks around them, sucking on them.

"Good boy," Foggy murmurs. "I was going to add another hour for talking without permission but I'll just do thirty minutes."

The noise that Matt makes around his fingers is agonized.

This is going really well.

Foggy starts to move his hips before he finally shuts the laptop and sits it to the side, about to tell Matt that he can move, too, before Matt babbles, "Fuck, fuck, Foggy, I'm gonna come."

Foggy pins Matt's arms down when he reaches up like he's going to grab his hips, riding him hard until Matt's barely coherent, just enough to tell Foggy that he's had enough.

"I think that's a record," Foggy says, kissing his face all over, slow and intently. "You normally last a little longer than that."

"It's been six hours," Matt says, frowning.

"It's been barely two," Foggy says, laughing. "And I moved for, like, thirty seconds. I got you wound up, huh?"

"Yeah, a little," Matt says, frown immediately changing into an adorably loopy smile, reaching up to touch Foggy's hair and making a pleased humming noise when Foggy leans down to kiss him on the mouth. "Do you want me to get you off now? While I'm still inside you?"

"I don't know, you're already getting hard again," Foggy says, stretching out his arms and yawning. "Maybe I'll just take a nap and see how I feel after."

"Like this?" Matt asks.

"Sure," Foggy says, moving so his entire weight is on Matt, pressing him into the bed. "Just a cat nap. Hour, tops. How does that sound?"

"Like torture," Matt says. "Also. . .please do it."

"Good boy," Foggy murmurs, kissing his neck.

The way that, despite being all the same character, every doctor is the opposite of the one that came before but perfect for their role in the Doctor's development.

Nine was fresh out of the war, avidly protesting violence and learning to let people in. Learning who they are and how to love themself and the people around them. Their time was cut short but they had a good run, figuring out who they were amidst all their trauma and regrets.

Ten was created for Rose Tyler, created to love, yet never able to say it. While Nine learned to love Ten lost everything and almost lost themselves too. They almost took a step back in the sense that they gave into their grief and regret, aiming to hurt those in the way they were hurt instead of helping everyone they could.

Eleven is the utmost contrast to Ten's "timelord victorious" arc, being goofy and childish and finding their family with the Pond's. Being able to find their wife and do everything they could to protect the people they love. However, they couldn't keep the act up forever, as once they lost the Ponds, they just shut down and kept to themself, ready to die and thinking that they would. They were, as the war doctor put it in the 50th anniversary special, the doctor who forgets, or tries to, rather than deal with it.

Twelve. Oh god I could talk for hours about them as much as I love Tennant there's just something about Twelve that has my heart. They're more closed off, living up to the 'grumpy professor' stereotype, but by god did they love their friends. That's a whole other essay, but in contrast to 11 running from their problems, 12 faced them, and while they ultimately paid the price for it, they were able to move on in a way none of their predecessors could.

Thirteen, my favorite girl. While I do think that the series should have ended with 12, never doubt that I love 13. They had so much thrown at them but never dealt with any of it, shoving it down instead of facing it head on like 12. Still, they never gave up, and while they didn't let people in as much as well, any other doctor, they always did their best to protect their fam. Always smiling, even if it wasn't always true, and they never hid their love for their friends and life in general.

And now Fourteen!!! The blorbo is back and they are blorboing so hard. 14 really is 10 but with all of the best parts of the others. Freely talking about how they love their friends, nearly breaking down when they though Wilf had down and getting very close when Donna not-died in their arms. I'm so excited to see how their character is developed over the next specials even though it's going to hurt by the end.
