Marina confirmed on Twitter that she's dropping "and the Diamonds" from "Marina and the Diamonds" so now she's just Marina. I know she wants to be seen as a person rather than a persona, I know that she still loves us and I know that it's good for her, her career and her mental health, but I can't help but feel sad; we were the diamonds! Also, I put so much effort into retagging all of my Marina posts from "Marina Diamandis" to "Marina and the Diamonds", only for her to drop "and the Diamonds"!

i get that, i understand the sadness bc its the end of an era, bigger than just one album, the ending of an entire career. i guess it feels like we’ve lost marina and the diamonds but gained just marina? i had a feeling she would be dropping “ATD” from her stage name ever since her first marinabook post. all in all, if marina believes this will be better for her mental health, im 100% behind the decision !

i feel like some part of her will always be known as “marina and the diamonds” tho. TFJ, EH, and froot were all released under matd, so i think its safe to say “marina and the diamonds” isnt dead, her past work is still there to enjoy. i think the only real big change will be how she is presented in the media (live tv performances…if any, spotify, itunes charts, billboard, wikipedia, genius, etc) during matd4 and then on (or is it marina4 now?). ik for me personally i’ll tag TFJ→froot as matd, and her future work will just be “marina diamandis”

(and as for retagging posts, u should get xkit and download tag replacer !!)

marina and the diamonds fandom is a sad fandom. no content ever. just the same five pictures from the electra heart era. family jewels who? froot who? all we live for is correcting people who call the song “primadonna girl” and saying that marina and the diamonds is one of their favorite bands. you asked for underrated bops? we got them! it’s called every marina song ever released! hell will soon ravage this fanbase. soon we’ll default back to marina vs label format chat posts. marina and lana edits will make a comeback, even though we already have content of them hanging out together and interacting. that one mashup of bubblegum bitch and i write sins not tragedies will reappear. war will descend. matd4 will never come, just higher and higher quality versions of miss y will be released.
