APARIENCIA A OJOS HUMANOS

Matarael no posee forma humana, y si la tuvo alguna vez, fue despojada de ella como castigo o como bendición. Su manifestación física ha sido descrita por múltiples testigos en estados alterados de conciencia como:

Un solo ojo gigantesco suspendido en el cielo tormentoso, rodeado de anillos giratorios de luz

De ese ojo desciende lluvia: agua, sangre, aceite negro o incluso lágrimas líquidas que queman la piel

A su alrededor flotan símbolos sagrados inversos, como si alguien hubiese escrito versículos celestiales… al revés

El cielo se torna violeta oscuro, los relámpagos no generan sonido, y los truenos se escuchan bajo tierra

Se manifiesta en tormentas que duran exactamente 13 horas y 13 minutos

NATURALEZA VERDADERA

Matarael es un Observador. Su función en la jerarquía celestial parece ser la de vigilar la pureza del mundo. Cuando la corrupción —sea demoníaca o humana— alcanza cierto umbral, él aparece. Y llora. No para castigar. Sino para registrar.

En antiguos textos apócrifos, se lo denomina “El Archivo Líquido del Altísimo”

Sus lágrimas contienen memorias: imágenes, sonidos, y pensamientos de quienes habitan la zona donde llora

Hay sacerdotes que han ingerido gotas de sus lluvias y entrado en trances proféticos... o permanentes estados de locura

Su llanto corroe las mentiras: en sus tormentas, las máscaras caen, los secretos salen a la luz, la carne se vuelve memoria

Algunos creen que su llanto no es dolor, sino decepción.

EFECTOS EN LA TIERRA

Zonas con lluvias “contaminadas” (agua que no se evapora, sino que se hunde en la tierra)

Personas expuestas a sus lágrimas presentan visiones, confusiones de identidad, o regresan con recuerdos que no son suyos

Equipos de Umbra X han recolectado muestras de agua de Matarael: líquido con propiedades antimeméticas

En cada zona afectada, surgen símbolos grabados en los cristales, techos y piedras… como si la lluvia los hubiera escrito

INTERACCIÓN CON UMBRA-09

Durante la misión “Auge de los Días del Lamento” en el desierto del Sinaí (año 2009), Umbra-09 y su escuadra quedaron atrapados por una tormenta que duró 13h13m. Durante ese tiempo, ningún equipo de comunicación funcionó. Uno por uno, los agentes revivieron sus peores recuerdos, como si una fuerza invisible les mostrara su culpa.

Umbra-09 fue el único que no se arrodilló. Caminó hasta el centro de la tormenta. Y encontró una figura: una estatua hecha de lágrimas solidificadas, con un solo ojo.

rips off Sachiel’s face before killing them

continuously tries to rip off Shamsel’s arms to the point of apparently prioritizing it over actually defeating the angel

licks Ramiel’s surface before killing it

stays underwater a bit longer than a human should be able to after killing Gaghiel

tricks both halves of Israfel into killing each other without even attacking

forces Sandalphon up to the surface by triggering an earthquake with the spear and kills it without hesitation despite being told to bring it in to study

Appears to to be entirely unafraid of Matarael’s poison

Allows Sahaquiel to drop directly on them in order to kill them and comes out unscathed

allows Iruel to infect their body. This ends up killing the angel after it attempts to infect their brain.

Leliel spits them out almost immediately after sucking them into the Dirac Sea and refuses to suck them back in

Immediately goes on the offensive against Bardiel and reacts with total indifference after learning it has a hostage

Zeruel stops their assault on NERV and attempts to run away when it sees them and they take immense pleasure in chasing it down

Arael screams, stops glowing, and falls from the sky after attempting to read their mind

allows Armisael in its entirety to corrode into/fuse with/“impregnate” them before abruptly returning to normal and gaining a halo around their head and very clearly still 100% in control

completely breaks down in anguish after killing Tabris
