I wrote this ramble/vent thing back in September last year, but today feels like the right opportunity to post it. RIP David Lynch, i love you forever <3

currently into season 2 of my twin peaks rewatch and we cheered when david lynch showed up as kyle gordon. man i love david lynch. a win for all of us autistics. i don't care if david lynch is autistic or not, but the way his characters talk makes me feel so seen. the way they say strange things and the way they speak in unusual rhythms and pitch. i am just so full of love for that kind of stuff.

tying this to sparks: of course there's more ron moments that are similar, but the way ron talks in this one interview where he says "sparks is a band with a point of view. the thing that we wish to convey is a sense of joy about the music that we are creating and i think most of this sense of joy comes from russells singing and from my lyrical approach, sometimes satirical, but never without some sort of witty point of view". that's what im talking about. it really gets to me. i find this truly touching.

its what i love so much about movies like the greasy strangler or john waters stuff or twin peaks. it feels so genuine and heartfelt.

man thinking about this is gonna make me cry, i just wish i could express my love in a way that would make everyone understand

Gordon Cole, genuinely one of the most iconic and quotable characters. About once a week I’ll just say, usually unprompted “Albert, we’re in South Dakota. Cossacks are in Russia.” or “I had another Monica Bellucci dream”, etc.
